HISTORY


Established in 2001.
In the Spring of 2001 Preventive Pest Control opened two Branch office locations in the Arizona Market. One to cover the East Valley and another to cover the West Valley. Branch Owners and their families moved here with the intent of growing a home based family run business. We still live here today. Since our humble beginnings in that first year of operations we have grown from 2 trucks to over 40 trucks with dozens of Trained and Licensed Pest Professionals serving the entire Valley. Our Vision is to provide outstanding customer service while providing a high quality way of life for our employees. We love Arizona! We love our customers! Our years of experience has taught us what it takes to tackle the extreme conditions and severe pest problems here in the valley. Our goal is to establish a solid foundation upon which to build our business and serve our customers for decades to come.

Justin Bradshaw a former Police Officer from Albuquerque New Mexico moved here with his wife and 5 children in the Spring of 2001 to start his a Branch of Preventive Pest Control.  He has lived in Mesa and currently resides in Queen Creek with his family.  He lives and works in the very community he services.  Justin is actively involved in the community outside of work.  He has given countless hours of service in Scouting and his local church.  He has personally sponsored many local youth groups and sporting organizations in the valley.

My husband and I just purchased a new home in East Mesa and wanted to preemptively spray for pests, since our community is still an active construction site and some of our neighbors have seen scorpions and black widows. Our technician Mark was awesome - very polite, professional, quick, and thorough. Our dog loved him too - bonus points! Once he was finished, I called the offices and set up an auto payment plan going forward, which was super convenient. I highly recommend Preventive Pest Control for all your pest control needs!

Very nice people that are very helpful with questions.  The first time they came out, they nuked this place.  I saw dead black widows, cockroaches, and scorpions.  

I signed up with Preventive because I had scorpions, but my parents didn't and they used them and lived in a new construction area deeper into the desert.  So I figured Preventive would be good.

Every time they come out, I tell them there are still scorpions all over.  It's a year later, and there are still scorpions all over.  I still have scorpions on my back wall and in my house.  I saw a huge one about a week ago on his way to my bedroom and it was the last straw.

I don't have any other bugs, so I don't understand why I have these things still.

These guys were very responsive and communicative. I enjoyed doing business with them and have recommended them to friends. We had our home treated for termites. Their service tech was great. He took time to do a good job and then cleaned up everything after--it was like he was never even there!

Disappointed! They came to my door to sell services and dumped ants at my doorstep to
make it look like there was a problem. I have never had ant problems in or around my house in the 11 years I have lived here. I know he dumped ants at my doorstep since there was no trail and they were gone immediately after he left and I killed what he had put there. Very angry about trying to trick me into needing their service!!

I really like the personalized service Preventative offers but last time we had a different person and they put glue traps down. The glue traps were something we specifically said NOT to do from the get-go and the first time they were put down as well. We found a dead lizard. :(

The second time - most recent time - we found a lizard but it was still alive so we freed it. I know it might sound silly but we are HUGE animal lovers and we don't want glue traps killing our little reptilian friends. :)

That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Everything else has been perfect.

We got suckered into signing up with EcoShield and left preventive for a few months. We had nothing but issues and even more scorpions! I wish we had just stayed here. Just got signed back up with them and they can be out tomorrow! The only issues we had with preventive were a few months of bad communication of when they'd be at our house, and a couple scorpions in the garage. But they fixed the communication issue and I guess you can't kill EVERY scorpion  Glad we are back with a company we can trust!

We've been with Preventive for 13+ years. They have taken care of everything from pigeon netting to termites. Our quarterly sprays are always on time and done with professionalism. Ricky has always been great to work, is super patient with us and has a wealth of knowledge in the business.
They have always been there for us when we've needed them. I highly recommend this company! I give them an A+

my wife and I went with this company and at first they would come then it got to the point where the webs were back and the spiders were crawling around again. To make a long story short we did not like the service we my wife called to cancel. The lady she spoke with was asking why didn't we call to let them know they were not doing a good job. Well we hired you so we don't have to baby sit.

Well trying to call to cancel numerous times they continued to say let me get a supervisor to call you and guess what? It never happens. Debit card is not cancelled so well see how quick they call. Unacceptable service.

We ve been with this company for over two years. They are extremely professional and live up to everything they offer. We love the pricing and they always call the week before to confirm their scheduled spray. They will always spray the inside of the house if we ever ask them at no additional charge. We even had a major gopher problem this past year and they handled it diligently. Their staff that comes to spray are always professional and very friendly. We recommend them to our family and friends all the time because best of all, we just don't have any insect problems whatsoever thanks to these guys!

John was servicing my neighbor on Horseshoe drive in Chandler when I asked him if he could look at a swarm of bees in my yard.  He did and took care of the problem without me needing an appointment.  Great service from him!   We will continue to use preventative. They do a great job.

I can't comment on their service or customer service, quality of work, etc...But I can say that they REALLY badly want to lock you into a year contract, at $45 a month...That's why I didn't go with these people. None of my questions were really answered about pest/scorpions. All I kept hearing was $45/year contact.

I'm a no contract kinda guy. I called 3 other pest control places after Preventative and no others have contracts; so I eventually went with Varsity pest control. No contract at $35 a month.

Update...unfortunately my experience has been inconsistent. Hopefully one Day it can return to my expectations...I've been with this company for a good while. I've tried others. What I appreciate most is Preventative's commitment to getting right, and listening to your concerns. I've had issues larger than your average bug problem from time to time, and they've been able to address them all....including termites and Scorpions. (Which I dislike the most) I'm grateful for a company that treats my wallet friendly and a service that goes above and beyond. I've worked with Charlie and Justin- both stellar! 5 star reviews are very hard to earn in my opinion. I feel extremely confident in my recommendation......

I have been a Preventive Pest Control customer for five years. I have found this company to be reliable and very easy to work with regarding scheduling. Mark is the technician that sprays my house and he is always friendly, informative and even goes out of his way to call or text when in route. PPC does not make me wait all day like a cable company or other service provider.

I've been using them for both my business and personal home for 5 years.  They are one of the easiest pest companies to work with.  I am setup on the bi-monthly service which is great because if we see any bugs at all between services we just call them and they will come back for free to re-spray, no hassle.

I know pest companies can't really promise to get rid of scorpions (and Preventive Pest doesn't) but I can say that within days of them spraying I always see a few dead ones around the house...thankfully they did their job and these nasty bugs are belly up.

One of those companies that leave fliers on your door, patio furniture, driveway, anywhere for the wind to blow them around the neighborhood. Oh, and a contributor to the path across my yard as they go door to door...

I am extremely pleased with Preventive Pest Control. Preston called me last week to set up day and time that works best with our busy schedule.  He was great with answering my questions and any concerns I had. We got the confirmation phone call day before scheduled day of service.  On day of scheduled service, Our tech Patrick called to advise ETA . He was Very informative and knowledgeable upon arrival.
Did I mention his excellent customer service skills ?  He was Very Polite and personable.  He makes you feel like your the most important customer.  We really enjoyed talking with him.
He treated the pest problem and explained the time frame to expect results. Patrick was also very careful with spraying  around our cats and their food/water bowls also.
I highly Recommend Preventive Pest Control!

As a Home Owner and Realtor for many years, I've worked with several pest company's in several states. None have been as thorough and responsive as Preventive Pest. I don't just hire just any pest company, without doing my research. There may be cheaper company's but you get what you pay for. Preventive Pest provides superb service for a very reasonable fee. They provide peace of mind as they always do what they say and always follow up. I have not worked with, nor had a better pest company provide service on my own home, than Preventive Pest.

I have used their services for a couple years now. When I moved and requested them again they were out the next day. I seen Scorpions in the new house and some other places where trying to schedule a week away. I really appreciate their business. They communicate needs & concerns and they address my concerns immediately. Customer service is above and beyond . That's why they get 5 stars

I have never been disappointed with PPC. They are always courteous and accommodating. It means a lot to me that they are flexible with scheduling and even more that they will come back and respray for no additional within 2 months when I request it after a monsoon etc. I can't recommend them enough.

I've used Preventive Pest Control for 10 years. Recently we've have a significant scorpion problem. I've called them to my house multiple times, but the scorpion problem just keeps getting worse.

During a recent service call (specifically about scorpions) it started raining, so the tech said he would treat just the inside of my house and then come back later for the outside. However, Preventive Pest charged me for the full treatment anyway and then was annoyed when I wanted them to come out and finish the job. They said that they *did* spray outdoors--(they didn't).

When they finally came again to spray the outside a couple days ago, whatever they did didn't work. Last night I took a black light outside and killed five--F.I.V.E--juicy scorpions in exactly in the area I'd been telling them was a problem. I'm pretty sure they didn't even spray there.

I just called them today and asked if someone could come out and spray the problem area again, and they said they could, but that they would have to charge me for a full treatment. WHAT? They missed a scorpion nest, and they want to charge me the full amount to re-spray that area? No thanks. I am so done with this company. They are going downhill for sure.

I couldn't recommend Preventive Pest Control any higher!  This is such a great company to do business with. They've been servicing my home for 12 years and they are wonderful. If I ever have a problem between services they come back at no charge. Their technicians also go the extra mile. One of their techs traced an ant hill to my neighbors yard and quickly dispatched it.  I would never use another pest control company. Preventive Pest is the best!!!!!

I have had Preventive for over 15 years, I did switch to another company when I found a great Groupon price thinking I would save money, instead I just started having a lot of creepy crawlers - immediately went back to Preventive and use them at all my houses that I can. :)

These folks might be able to kill bugs, but I'll never find out. What they can do is DUMP GARBAGE all over a neighborhood of mostly seniors, who then have to pick it up.

Preventive Pest Control uses leaflets instead of junk mail. Either they dump, or hire people, to dump hundreds of these flyers in neighborhoods advertising their service. Our neighborhood got hit last week. Since we're near Sun Lakes, many in our community are seniors. Did they need to be picking up 4, 5, 6 or more flyers/postcards off their driveways, lawns, flowerbeds, bushes???

NO! It's littering on private property, and nearly every house got hit! A week later, and walking around the neighborhood, you still see their garbage in people's yards, driveways, and in the street.

If they come clean up their garbage, I'll take down this review. Until then, they are more of a problem than the pests they want us to pay them to eliminate.

Maybe we should all dump our garbage at your house? Easy enough to look up at the ACC, you know.

I moved into my home in 2003. Over the years I have been through at least 6 pest control companies. Most of them made big promises but never delivered. Our area had a serious scorpion problem and although I know they are tought to deal with, I expect a company to tell me the truth. In other words, if you say you can control them, I darn well expect you to do that.

Everyone wants you to sign a contract. When I was approached a few years ago by Preventive, I told them flat out - if you guys can do what you promise, we will have a happy relationship, if not, not only will I end our relationship, but that contract of yours will be as worthless as tissue.

These guys have NOT let me down. Since they have been taking care of my home, I have had almost no pests in my home at all. My technician Trey is awesome, friendly, responsive, informative and professional. They are a pleasure to do business with. Totally!

Been a Preventive customer for years with not one single issue.

My service rep is Shane and he's always on time or manages my expectations by calling me to say he's behind (which is very rare).
I switched from another pest control company to Preventive several years ago, and it was obvious from the 1st treatment that they were using proper chemicals and spraying in the right areas to get rid of my pest problem. Plus, if I ever do have an issue (as I recently did when I found a scorpion in my bedroom), they offer free re-sprays.

Their product is safe for my pets but toxic to pests. It's exactly what I want with fair prices ($69 bimonthly) and great customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We've had Preventive since moving to AZ. We get a friendly phone call every other month letting us know the day of service, a technician arrives on time, asks about our pest situation (thankfully only tiny earwigs and crickets), whether we want inside/outside only/both, does the work, and I sign the receipt. Everyone has been pleasant and efficient. And the treatment is effective!

They are fantastic!  We've been with them for 6 years.  They go out of their way to make sure our home is bug free.  They let me know they're coming so I can make sure the dog is inside and to make sure we aren't having any problems that they need to specifically take care of.  I would recommend them to anyone.

Twice they said they had been out and sprayed but didn't, we know because there is always someone home. Even if they did spray we still had bugs roaming around, so we are not impressed with them and do not recommend them.

This company sucks.  They did not get rid of the Scorpion issue in my yard.  I asked them to come out and redo the yard so as to give them a second chance, even though I offered to pay them. They never responded to my request to make good on their lack of success. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Not here to bash just state my encounter. Setting up my appointment was fast easy and painless, very friendly staff. On the day of my appointment I got a phone call 15 minuets before they were scheduled to be here from my tech saying that he wouldn't be able to make it after all. I asked if he could come since I already left work 2 hours early to make this window, I was told nothing can be done. Now I'm just extremely disappointed, wish it could have been a better experience.

I don't use this company and will not, due to their ugly sales practices. I live in the Bridges in Gilbert. The Preventive salesperson has gone door to door in my neighborhood using aggressive, unethical, dishonest and rude sales tactics. For example, telling homeowners that their neighbors have chosen to use your service when they have not, knocking on doors as late as 8.30 pm, asking a homeowner to supply him with a bottle of water, putting his hand on the doorframe to keep the door from closing, arguing with homeowners about what No soliciting means, etc. This is an unacceptable nuisance and an invasion of privacy. I have reached out to the company and requested that they discontinue this approach immediately. If it continues I will be calling the police and the better business bureau.

We signed up with Preventive a few months ago now.  So far our experience has been very lacking.  They have been unable to schedule on our requested day, when I called to correct it - again - they accidentally scheduled on the incorrect day a 2nd time and were unwilling to make it right when I called.  More the point, despite the four treatments they have done we killed 14 alive scorpions last night.  On previous nights looking we have consistently killed 10 plus.  When I tell the tech they tell me that their treatment is working but the neighbors must not spray.  Preventive let us know that we would see more bugs initially but this has not decreased as time has gone on.  Furthermore on the initial call before we signed the contract I was told that we could have notes in our file so the techs, no matter who came, would always know our expectations.  I was also told one of two techs would always treat our home.  In reality, the note section is too small and I have to follow them around the house and garden to give instructions, at which point i could have just sprayed myself and had better results at a time of my convenience.  We give them our credit card each time they come yet just got a bill in the mail for the last service.  Their customer service tactic has been to tell me that I am the only one who has ever had issues with them.    I deeply regret having given this company a 2nd chance and having signed a contract with them.

We have been a customer for over 4 years now. They are fantastic, they work with your schedule, and the girls who answer the phone are great.

HOWEVER - DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE with their after hours company. If it's after 5 PM, call in the morning. The service has twice not delivered messages to either cancel service that day or that I moved, and has caused problems. Thankfully they call with appointment reminders, which is how we discovered twice messages didn't get to them. Because of that they almost went out to a house I moved out of over 2 months ago and sprayed, and would have charged me. The front office stated they are having problems with their message service. Both times I left messages with them they didn't get it. This last time I told the guy who answered after 5 PM (who said oh the receptionist is away can I take a message? they don't tell you they are an after hours message company) in July I am moving, here is my new address, please call in October to start service again, and apparently they never passed on the message.

Preventative is GREAT at what they do and you can trust them - just never leave a message with someone after 5 PM.

I absolutely love this company! They are by far the best pest control we have had. We never see bugs in the house. We used to have them all the time with our previous pest control. The office staff is always accommodating and go out of their way to help with anything we need. Their rates are fair and they don't charge again if I need them to come back out after a rain storm during monsoon. Our technician is super friendly and knowledgeable. We have had the same one for some time too, which tells me they do a lot to retain their employees. I would highly recommend PPC. You won't be sorry!

These people are awesome!!! I love how easy and friendly their staff is. I never have any problems with scheduling or rescheduling. There are never any debit payments without my knowledge or consent as I have had in the past with a previous pest control company GREEN MANGO almost 3 years. I have been with PREVENTIVE PEST CONTROL for almost a year now and I have since added chickens to my back yard. Their product has not negatively effected my animals, cat, dog, chickens, reptiles. I simply allow the product to dry ( 15-25 mins) before allowing them access to sprayed areas. Their product works so well for my family that I am confident to never have them stay the inside of my home. They do such a good job outside, there in no need for it inside. I had a problem with scorpions with prior company GREEN MANGO. Not a one with PREVENTITIVE PEST CONRTOL:)  VERY FRIENDLY AND NEVER ANY PRESSURE TO SERVICE , but they do keep in touch which makes it super convenient when you do.
