Preserving Tree and Cactus Service

I will quote my husband, parenthesis is mine: It took'em all morning, from 8 - noon to remove that big ol cactus (saguaro with four arms). They were intent, careful and meticulous at there work. I was in awe of the whole process. The necessary equipment, time and skill, the know how. I took several pictures so you could see the process.

A little background of how they came to do the job: I am retired local truck driver in the construction industry and have seen this process done many times, transporting and planting big saguaro's, even the pineapple palms. My husband being from England said, you'll never find someone to take those! Ha! Do your research I said! Huge market for them. Amazingly, his post on FB got some to do research and called. Asked why we wanted them gone? Small property, they overpowered the yard and getting bigger! And the thorns also get in the dogs pads and such. Not to mention we are planting vegetable garden out front. The surprisingly supply a lot of shade. not to mention thorny...So when I posted my add in craigslist free saguaro's and palm trees I was very specific in my request. You must have the equipment and so on. So when I was bombarded with calls I was so glad I already had the education of doing this job right! I couldn't believe the response I got! They were even willing to come all the way from Tucson to take them. In my correspondence with Yvonne (great person to work with by the way), I had to put everything on hold, so I could think, am I really doing the right thing here? The saguaro's were an added bonus when I bought the place being a Phoenician. Yvonne, smart lady offered a few bucks for the big one, knowing she'll get what it's worth. Which was the one I had a hard time parting with. I named it Trump tower in 2016... two birds nests... desert condo for wild life... I had a real hard time parting with her... the sphere, no big deal... so I took a few days to think about it,final decision; go ahead and take her...

Great job. They were very respectful of the property. Asked how and what can get moved to get to the job at hand. Very meticulous. There is just a small circle of dirt, maybe 3' diameter at most. No hole, no mound, clean flat surface. Did I say great Job? Well, this is the team of people you want doing this important work. Giving new life to the protected Saguaro's.

I've seen ignorant people cut them in sections and hauled to the dump...

Few day's after they came for the second one, Yvonne sent photo's of their new home! My heart melted... great placement!!!! Perfect spots in a desert landscape.

Transplanted 7 saguaros and they've done good over the last five months. Also transplanted a mini pineapple palm which promptly died.  Didn't plant some items that he said he would and never came back to complete the job once paid.

Miguel came out the same day to remove our saguaro that had contracted bacterial necrosis. He worked carefully around our other plants and, per our request, left the hole open so we could plant a tree. The advice about planting the new tree was truly appreciated. Miguel did an excellent job removing our huge 24ft cactus and for the cheapest price I could find. He was professional and came out the next day after I contacted him for a quote. Definitely will use again for some of our other plants, highly recommend!

Wonderful, awesome, delightful experience. I had a cactus in the front yard that was starting to get out of hand and I had some baby prickly Pear growing from a long ago plant. I emailed these folks and they got right back to me, quoted 250.00 to remove the cactus. Great deal if you ask me. Scheduled an appointment for today, Miguel and his helper were right on time. They removed the cactus, picked up every single green item on the ground. You would never know there was a cactus there in the first place. I am so glad that I contacted Miguel with Preserving Tree and Cactus Service--a real professional who is a specialist in saguaros.  We had a very tall saguaro that was leaning toward the house and at risk for damaging the roof and adjacent saguaro.  Miguel promptly answered my call and he came to the house to give an estimate. We needed about 8-10 feet of the saguaro reduced and he came out a few days later as he had stated and texted me when he was near by so I could make arrangements to be home.  He was meticulous and very thoughtful as he reduced the saguaro with care and attention not to damage other plants.  I highly recommend his services!

Called Miguel late Friday and told him we were worried about our 26' Saguaro's condition....he asked for pictures so we took a few and sure enough, he told it was infected and would eventually die and fall. As upsetting as it was, we wanted it removed as soon as possible so as not to seriously hurt someone. They were promptly at our home the next morning as promised and 2 hours later, removed this monster cactus (it was a difficult removal).  They were very professional, courteous, and clean (you would never know they or the cactus had ever been there).  A sad day for us to lose such a beautiful saguaro,  but they made the process easy and their price was very reasonable for the amount of work they had to do. These guys know what they're doing. Quoted me same day. Came out on a Saturday to cut it down. Very reasonable prices. Came out and removed my large diseased cactus efficiently and made my yard look like it was never there. Thank you guys! Definitely recommend! They were a pleasure to work with.

A+++! I called to have a 13' cactus removed from the front yard of a house I purchased and they were very responsive and showed up a few days later to remove it. Quote was very reasonable and they worked with us on the price without issue, as we were on a budget. Great prep work to remove it so as to not damage any other landscape and they left the area as if I never even had a cactus there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Very professional and nice as well!

I needed to move a saguaro on my lot it was in the way of a new house goin in. Yvonne gave me a very reasonable estimate the same day after I sent pictures of the cactus.   Miguel was great and very courteous . They had trouble with their jack hammer and had to dig it by hand.  The saguaro was in very rocky soil but they didn't skimp on preserving the root ball at all.  You can see the passion that he has for this profession.  When they got to the new location the soil was very easy to dig for the first two feet or so then they hit caliche and it was as hard concrete he could have said that was deep enough but they kept digging down another 18 inches.  They take no shortcuts.  He gave me instructions on the care of the saguaro so as to make it a survivor. I highly recommend Preserving Tree and Cactus Service  to anyone.

Miguel and his helper were excellent at removing my saguaro.  You can't even tell there was a plant as they filled the hole and covered it back up with my rocks.  He is courteous and his price beat everyone else I contacted.  He assured me the cactus is going to a good place.  It was a healthy plant but it was too close to the sidewalk.  I highly recommend this company if you need removal services.  He let me know a water line for the watering system was broke and he repaired it as well.  Very honest and I so appreciated that!

I saw a truck on a street with their contact info and after calling around, to remove my 35' cactus that weighed between 2000-6000 lbs, I ended calling them. They gave me a fair quote and even worked with me a bit. They came out quickly the following business day and took it down in hours. They were professional, knowledgeable and cleaned up all of the mess the Saguaro made. They were friendly, respectful and I had no issues. Thank you for doing quality work at a fair price. I'm very happy that we went with Miguel and his team at Preserving Tree and Cactus Sevice.  They were fast and efficient at getting the appropriate permits and did an awesome job relocating two 14-16' saguaros.  They were transplanted four months ago and are thriving and looking beautiful in their new home.  Highly recommended!
