We specialize in finding the best solution to your homes needs. We specialize in tile back splashes, showers and flooring. No two houses are exactly alike so we excel in adapting to each unique situation. We do only one job at a time. We focus all of our energy and talents to completing it before moving on.

HISTORY

Established in 1993.
We started our business in 1993 in Seattle, WA. We only did tile installations and learned a lot of lessons along the way. In 1998 we moved the business to MN where Paul grew up. In 2008 we added decorative concrete to our offerings with a specialty in concrete counter tops. Visiting AZ for family and concrete training planted the seed that this would be a great place to settle. In 2015 we decided to make this our permanent home. The business has also evolved to offer home repairs as well, drawing on the many years in construction.

We finally (finally) got these projects done. Yay! PhD Home Solutions came to the rescue! They do excellent wall tile work plus other odds and ends. They mounted a bathroom cabinet and ceramic tiled its wall, installed a countertop and wall tile toilet in our laundry, removed an old and replaced with new toilet, and did some detail trim work under our main entry door. Fast response, super nice folks, efficient, detailed, fast and they know what they're doing really, really well. PhD's prices are reasonable. The owners Paul and Carrie are fabulous and we highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done in the home. Kudos!

Paul was reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented (which you want in your tiler!) Not only did he tile our shower beautifully, but he demo'd (down to the studs), prepped and waterproofed the area CORRECTLY, made design recommendations, then tiled and finished. All while remaining super friendly and professional. We had 2 steps in our unusually deep (1970s) shower, so he filled in the bottom with concrete and left a curb so we can get a glass shower door installed eventually. (We'll have him back to install it for us!)
He setup his wet tile cutter in our backyard and wasn't messy at all going back and forth from outside to the bathroom. Was very gracious and thoughtful about being quiet during my baby's nap times as well.
He left a clean workspace each day, and left us with a dazzling shower. Like I said, we'll hire them again for our other house projects.

Paul did a great job on my kitchen backsplash and under cabinet lighting and has done a few odd jobs for me around the house (shower door install, vanity lights, etc). Great guy and great work. Highly recommend.

Paul is a breath of fresh air as a tradesman in Arizona. Makes sense too, as he comes from the Midwest so he has a great work ethic, communication skill, and eye for details.

We used him to tile a back splash in our kitchen. He has great ideas and isn't afraid to make suggestions to make it better. He works fast and is very concerned about neatness (I know, what trade does that in AZ, right?).

I'm sure we'll use him again and would highly recommend him. I hope to use him for other trade type of work.

Earlier this year my wife and I decided to add a backsplash to our kitchen. We were provided a number of references, but in the end decided to go with Mr. Paul Dunbar because he was strongly recommended over everyone else. And with good reason. Paul was beyond excellent and I would highly recommend him. He immediately answered when I called and was very kind and pleasant over the phone. I was told due to his popularity that he would be booked weeks out. Paul made time for us and came to visit us the next day to provide an initial bid. His pricing was more than fair and he agreed to complete the work the following week. We have had hundreds of folks come to our house to do work, but Paul was the by far the best. He didn't make an unncessary mess, despite it naturally being a messy project. He had extreme attention to detail. And you could tell he really cared about doing the job right the first time. The backsplash turned out perfect and we are extremely happy. I strongly recommend Paul Dunbar for backplash installation or any other home needs you may have. You will be very happy with the decision. Thank you Paul for a job very well done! We appreciate you!
