Pavers and More, LLC

We had pavers installed in our backyard.  We chose to use the company Pavers and More in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.  The crew that completed the job were true artist and we could not be more pleased with the finished project.  The work was done in a timely manner and the skills of the labors were top notch.

The owner is responsive.  He took a the job is not complete until you are satisfied approach and followed through from start to finish.  Without reservation, I recommend Pavers and More to complete any paver installation job.

We met with Mike in July, were given a quote, paid a deposit and were given a start date of 8/29/2022.  The job was to remove the flagstone and trim, replacing it with pavers, and tile around my pool, hot tub and bbq area.   Heard nothing from Mike until we called him the week prior to the start date, only to be told he had to push us off a few days.  We told him to wait until after the holiday weekend, and he said they would start after Labor Day weekend.  Again, we didn't hear anything.   We followed up the next week to be told that he had just ordered the pavers and of course, they couldn't start until the pavers were delivered.   This began a series of phone calls/text, always initiated by us, pushing off the start date with a series of excuses such as i can't control the rain.  Finally, the work started at the beginning of October.  It would have been nice to have notice of when the workers were going to arrive instead of just having them show up at 6 am one morning.
The workers did a good job with the pavers and tile.  They even upsold me on the tile for my hot tub and bbq area, which one would think would make Mike happy. It did not. They did not clean up after themselves, leaving debris and trash in my yard, and the job was not finished.
In total, there were here for 3 days, finished most of the work, and because the work was not completed, I did not want to pay them.  The workers requested I pay them directly, stating that Mike owed them money.  I was uncomfortable with that as my contract was with Mike.  As it turns out, Mike subcontracts his work to other companies.  We were not aware of that.  Had I known, I would have just hired the other company and saved whatever Mike's markup was.
So, the guy who upsold me the tile for the pool and hot tub did that on his own, which made Mike very unhappy.  I explained to him that I thought this person was his employee NOT a sub and that I would not pay in full until the work was completed.   Mike told me that it was bullshit and that he didn't need this shit.  I told him I would not pay anyone but him without a signed document from him stating he wanted me to pay his subcontractor directly, and I had received ALL the materials I had paid for, and the work was completed per my contract.  
In the end, I got the rest of my materials and $350.00 off my $11,400 paver job.  My bbq and hot tub are not done, and I will have to hire someone else to finish the job.
In summation, I cannot recommend this company.  Very poor communication does not care at all about customer satisfaction, and if the subs are to be believed, the company is not financially stable.

Don't use this company! They stole our deposit and have since had their contractors license suspended!

Consumer BEWARE Mike is a Fraud, he will take your deposit and you will never hear back from him!
for those of you who he has scammed, you need to file a police report and charge him with felony fraud!  if enough of us file charges against him we can hopefully get him sent to prison.

The owner came to give us an estimate and took 50% deposit and never came back to do the work. We will take this matter to court.

Mike the owner came out 5/15/22 and gave us an estimate for backyard work, he took a deposit of 50% and work was supposed to start 8/7/22. It's been 3.5 months now and no pavers and mike the owner stopped answering our phone calls and text messages. DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY A DEPOSIT!!! We will take this matter to court.

Mike Disrud took our deposit and ran off with the money. He is now trying to rebrand as Desert Sky Pavers LLC. Do not hire him or Desert Sky! He will take your money and run! His contractors license was revoked on January 17th, 2023 and he is currently under investigation for defrauding multiple people.

I really hate leaving a bad review, I really liked Mike and felt he was a good guy. But, I have the same story as everyone else... he took my deposit, poor communication and full of excuses and then wouldn't respond to my texts or answer phone calls,  now starting the ROC complaint process.

This company is a fraud they stole 2k.  They requested a down payment of 2k by check and then never did the work!!

This guy, Mike Disrud, is a fraud.  He steals money and does not do the work.  Do not give him money.  Report him to the ROC and to the Attorney General's office.  A group of us are getting together to go after him.

Update on our pavers, after I posted my 1st review Mike got ahold of my husband a few days later & within 2 weeks the pavers were delivered & the job started. The crew that came out are very good & hard working. Our driveway looks great but I would not recommend this company because of the hassle we had to go through for months.

mike, the owner came over to my house on the 18th of october, gave me the estimate and i signed the contract and gave a 50% deposit. we agreed he would begin construction the week of nov. 7th. we received the pavers 2 days beore that, so i called him to confirm an exact start date but he did not know.  i'll get back with you tonight, but we did not hear back.  so we called again and he said he would begin on november 7 between 8-9.  he was a no-show, so that afternoon we called to find out what happened and he said he did not know when he could begin but would check his schedule and let us know tonight.  still no replay, so my wife texted on nov 9 to get a timelime, and he said he would check the file and update.  nothing again.  on nov 11 she texted again.  this time he did not reply.....and we are still waiting....

Mike, the owner, is rude, curt, deceitful and generally unknowing of what it is like to provide a good service and stand behind it.

Like other recent reviews this is a theme.

Midway through the project, he asked for more money.  He underbid it.  The timing was after the pavers were mostly installed but before the grass had.  When I stood my ground on the written bid is where the shenanigans began.

They bought less grass than what was required and patched  it together like a blanket of cloth scraps with the attention to detail and expertise of a first timer.

I was told 3 seams in the grass and you will never know it.  I have 10 seams in the grass.  We asked Mike to come by to remedy this 3 times. Each time he said that he and his foreman, Vincenti would be by.  THREE no-shows later... no Mike.  Then on the 4th attempt, his foreman came by, no Mike.  I got a line of excuses from Vincenti. In addition, all they did was pour more sand on the grass and create an 11th seam to try and fix one.  Ridiculous.

Additional concerns are 3 random grey pavers in the black borders and a line of tall grass on all the boarders that looks like a mohawk.

This guy needs to be exposed.  He will underbid and demand money, and if you say no, he will cut corners to save costs.  No follow-up services.  He is bonded, so I will use court to remedy my situation.  Save yourself a headache, don't walk away... RUN.

Mike came to my house today with such unprofessional attitude.  All I asked was a quote for the project.  He interrupted me when I was gonna start telling him the measurements of the project, and was like I don't care about your measurements I gonna measure it.  Before he started measuring I showed him pavers from Lowe's that I'd like to install, but he said with attitude I don't do JUNK.  He continued the least project I do is $3600.
Like...$3600 for what??? he didn't even see the entire project!! I said this is kinda too much he was like, ok the... and he jumped in his car and left.
I mean... what the actual fuck!!! Damn coronavirus made humans so cruel and rude!  I hope these people accept Jesus in their lives.

I would avoid this company. It is not worth the headache. We signed the contract on September 20th to have pavers installed in our backyard the week of Thanksgiving. Mike mentioned that he was having trouble getting pavers, but he would let us know. 2 weeks before the start date, I called Mike to check on the status. He said that he had 5 crews working and that he would be there either the week that it was supposed to start or the week after. I called him the day that it was supposed to start and asked what the status was. He said that he had a seven thousand SF project come up and wasn't sure when he would be there. I told him I needed an exact date. He said he would call me back, but never did. 2 weeks later I called him and told him that he was going to be there on a specific date and he said he couldn't do that as he was working on a 2600 SF travertine project. I threatened to take him to court if I didn't get my money back. He did send me a cashiers check for my deposit. He also said that he was refunding 4 other peoples money that same day.

Basically, he will bump all of his smaller projects so that he can work on the bigger projects where he makes more money.

If you want your smaller project done, call someone else.

I provided a deposit in early June for work to be completed end of July. The start date passed with no communication of when the project would start. After calling repeatedly was told I needed to pick out pavers when I had already given him what I wanted (name, color size). A month went by and still no update.  On August 31st asked for my deposit back.  To this day I call weekly and no money.  Today was told he doesn't have it.  I am in the process of hiring an attorney to get my deposit back. No materials no work were done.  He is using my deposit as an interest free loan.  I hope with the help of ROC and law I can recover my deposit.

Wow! I had this company install travertine pavers around my pool and extended my patio, 1700sq feet total. Mike is as some have mentioned, rude, nasty unprofessional and not truthful.  Once he takes your $$ to get your project started you will not see or hear from him until it's time to pay the balance.  

After the project was completed , a month later!!, I figured he would like to walk it with me to hear any concerns I had. He said he didn't need to do that, his crews do good work and he doesn't need to see the finished product. He gave me Vincente's, the foreman's, number and said to call him with any issues. Well that doesn't work out too well, he never returns calls or texts and I was left with finding another company to fix their mistakes.

Mike is nothing more than a rude used car salesmen that has no idea what his crews are doing and apparently no knowledge of actually installing pavers.

If you choose to use this company you will be the supervisor, final inspector and hopefully you have the knowledge about the project to make sure the crews that show up know what they are doing.

My project was done last September 2019, and I have waited almost 1 year to review them to give them the benefit to correct  the problems. I gave up and now will work with a different company to repair their mistakes.

I Called to ask about rejuvenating our brick pavers. We have a company back in Illinois known as Paver Protectors. Which does a wonderful job re-grouting  and refinishing old pavers. But the fella who answered the phone here insisted that no one does such a thing and kept interrupting me as I tried to explain our situation and then click. Oh well. They might want to get a more knowledgeable and mirecustomer friendly person answer their phones. UPDATE:  I found a knowledgeable and friendly vendor who listened to me and undetstood exactly what we needed. He showed me photos of his work and we hired him.

I had Mike come and give me a quote and he seemed nice and seemed to know his work. He gave me a start date of April 19 and today as I write this it is May 13 and no sign of any work. He says there are no pavers available in the market and all his projects are delayed. If that is the case why didn't he notify me of that when he took 50% of the money as advance? I have asked him today to return my money so that I can hire another contractor. Waiting to hear from him. It is a lot of headache and very bad customer service. Do NOT use him.

Mike and his crew did an OUTSTANDING job!  Always on time and his work exceeded our expectations!  He was quick to respond to any questions or resolve any issues we had regarding the project.  And at an extremely reasonable price!  We WILL BE hiring him to redo the rest of our driveway to match the extension, and additional work in our backyard!

Have Mike come out and give you a quote as this is the crew you want installing your pavers. They are perfectionists and are truly Masters of the trade. Love the attention to detail!

Mike and his crew did an amazing job in our backyard.  Loved the Travertine around the pool and the pavers and artificial turf.   Second time using Pavers and More.   Updating our oasis one job at a time

Mike came over to our place 6/20/2020 to give us a pavers estimate ...the day masks were mandated in AZ...my wife wanted to show him a neighbors home down the street, that had pavers in a style she liked.  She pulled out our golf car, put on her mask, and when Mike was going to get in the golf car she asked him to put one on.  He said I don't play that game, and refused to put on a mask.  We are seniors and in the most compromising age range in regards to the virus...obviously Mike did not care...pretty disrespectful.  I cannot speak of his work, it may be as good as it gets...we will never know.

We chose another provider, and are satisfied.

I met with owner Mike and got a great price on 1000sf of pavers. His crew arrived on schedule and completed the demo work in one day. The pavers and sand arrived the next day and the job was completed in less than 48 hours. I love our new driveway and patio. The workmanship is perfect and professional. The price quoted was even less than his original estimate.  Mike was responsive to my phone calls and questions. He always got back to me within minutes. I would have given him 5 stars, but clean-up and pallet removal took almost a week.

Contracted to install pavers in backyard.  They never measured yard, just went off crappy drawing.  Designed it they way they wanted, not what us, the customer wanted.  Made modifications without prior approval.  Failed to order pavers in timely manner, so when day of install arrived, pavers were not available and we had to select another style and color from a different vendor (remotely), even though Paver and More knew that originally selected pavers were on back order and that they would not be available for a couple of weeks.  Mike, has very poor customer service, speaking to my wife as if she were a child, stating I've been doing this a long time, I know what I'm doing.

At the end of the project, Mike then tried to claim that due to modifications from crappy drawing, there would be an additional cost to us for more pavers used, even though we had not authorized these changes.  I told him that if he felt the drawing was a crappy drawing then he should have measured it out himself and gotten our approval BEFORE he decided to make changes.  We won't pay this extra fee.

Be VERY aware of who you are doing business with.  Be VERY cautious in dealing with this company.  Good work, just LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I found Pavers and Moore on Yelp and noticed the great reviews. Mike came out and gave a quote, and I told him that I had to have the project done by a certain time because I was hosting a baby shower in the backyard of my home. He said, no problem and he is a man of his word. He made sure everything was completed, the quality of work was amazing, everything was cleaned up, and the work is stunning. I cannot thank Mike for being on top of our project, and taking the stress off of me!!!

If you get a quote from Mike, make sure you have him write on the quote that you want the border set in concrete, which was standard in every paver installation I've ever had done.. except Mike's.  In addition, you'll have to supervise his crew, he  will not. You will see him for the quote and then again to collect the checks and thats about it. Even when there are problems, he will not show up to manage them, just sends a crew back out. I would not use them again.

Decided to extend back patio and do pavers. Where to start...luckily we found Mike and his company, Pavers and More. He and his crew were here when they said they would be, did an EXCELLENT job, cleaned up afterwards and really made the process painless. Mike's running multiple crews around the valley and does a great job being on top of all of it. Pricing was amazing too. Definitely recommend and would use again. Thanks Mike for a great job.

I called this company and ask for the owner (if I was going to spend 10 or 20 grand I will be talking to the owner of the company) the guy rudely ask do you need pavers and I said not right this second and he slammed me right away and said then loose my number...and hung up. I called right back and I expected a weakling to send me to voice mail, and he did. What an @#*.   Don't waste your money with this company. Like the other person said...no stars would be best for this miserable @#*#*=. If I am going to do any business with a company they certainly at the least need to be kind or at least have a personality. This poor guy must really have problems. I hope he can turn things around...

You have to be a little on top of the communication yourself, because it's obvious Mike is a busy guy; but the work and price were just excellent.  We had entire back area done, back of house & 2 sides.  Pavers flow great & workmanship looks very nice.  They do basic sand underlay & not thin concrete.   Just FYI, I don't understand some of the lower ratings.  No, they don't install underlying drainage systems unless you ask for it & that's bid in advance. Who would?

Made an appointment with Mike to come out and give us a quote on a 1400 sq. ft. paver job.  The appointment was set for 10am.  He was nice on the phone when setting up the appointment.  

The morning of his arrival, I and my wife cleared our schedule for his appointment.  We waited from 9:45am to 10:45am.  At 10:45am I called him to ask if he was coming.  He was very rude, Yeah I knocked and rang the doorbell and no one answered!  I responded, We have been here the whole time...did you try calling?  He growled, Why would I call when no one is home?  He clearly had not come by and was trying to blame it on me.  Not a good start to a working relationship.  I then told him that we were no longer interested in his services.  He barked, Fine! and hung up on me.  Looks like we dodged a bullet on this one!

Mike Disrud is very rude and difficult to work with. His prices are good, but you'll never see him again after he quotes you, he'll only send his guys out to do the job that don't speak English so you can never get what you asked for and what he promised. The price is good, but it comes with too many problems to be worth it.

From start to finish this company was as good as it gets.  I could name a few who dropped the ball on even getting me a quote and actually will probably circle back and do just that -- leave a review on their pages to show that they never even showed up or got back to me with a quote.  Mike, the owner of this company was in touch with me the day I first sent an email inquiry, even though it was a holiday and he was sick.

He provided me with an estimate based on my scale drawing.  He was out to give me a hard estimate within two weeks (when we decided it was within our budget) and was right on the money when it came to approximately how far out he was on the books with getting the install scheduled.  

When it was time to install, he let me know about a week ahead of time that we'd be having the pavers installed.  I am so thrilled - the photos look just like those posted here already.  I am posting mine too, I put a watermark on mine because I think it looks so nice that some other company would want to use the photo themselves!  I am so thrilled with the professionalism, and would suggest this company to anyone.  

The estimate was exact, cost me just what he quoted per foot (granted, my scale drawing was PERFECT) and his crew was hard working and had the job done in one day.  700 square foot winding deck is to die for and I'm just so happy.  Thank you MIKE DISTRUD and Pavers and More!

A huge thank you to Mike and his guys. We had originally contracted another paver installer who also came highly recommended. Unfortunately, after agreeing to the estimate with the previous installer they stopped contacting me completely out of the blue and left us with tons of pavers in our driveway we had no idea what to do with. As a first time homeowner I was a bit panicked. I contacted Mike through Yelp and he got back to me within two hours that night. He agreed to come out the next day and sure enough showed up right on time. He was thorough in his estimate and had very good recommendations to build upon the ideas we already had. We decided to go with all of his recommendations and were surprised at how amazing the price was - especially since he was stepping in last minute and doing quite a bit of demo in addition to laying pavers! The next day his crew was out jackhammering concrete at the exact time they said they would be there and I came home from work to a beautiful front paver patio and walkway. We will definitely be using Mike for paving our driveway and back patio as soon as we are able too!! Thank you so much Mike for getting us out of a terrible situation!

I chose Mike based on his reviews on Yelp (where else). We were looking to landscape our backyard and due to the big size we decided to tackle it in chunks and the first plan was to get a patio by the pool. We thought concrete (because it may be cheaper) but then decided we will want pavers anyways so we called Mike. Surprisingly his quote came cheaper than any concrete pouring job and because he does minimum of 650 Sq. Ft. it ended up covering way larger area than we had thought. We not only got a beautiful patio but were also able to cover our porch, border around our pool and have a walkaway built from the porch to the swimming pool.

Process: I called Mike and left him a message (best and fastest way to get hold of him). I called him and he reiterated the minimum 650 Sq. Ft. @ 4.50 per Sq. Ft. He told us where we can go look and select the pavers (we did it online and he knew which pavers we were talking about). Once we did that I called him back. He told me when he can come out to check the yard. The appointment was for 10 AM on a Saturday and there was a knock on the door dot at 10 AM. He looked at our yard suggested a pattern and what all can we do. He did not try to up-sell and in fact shot down couple of our ideas which would have made him money but in end served no purpose in any way.

I liked what I heard and wrote him a check for half the money upfront (which can be nerve wrecking). He said his people will be over on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday all our Material was delivered and we had workers @ 9 AM Wednesday morning. It was a two day job. They took their time and did not cut any corners and did an amazing job (grading, leveling, laying, binding with dirt and putting concrete to hold it all together). Once the job was done Mike didn't show up till we asked him when does he want rest of his money.

I would highly recommend Mike and his crew.

The best price, the workmanship is just fantastic and when you set up an an appointment, Mike is always on time.  Simply stated, if you're looking a great job at a fantastic price, this is who I would recommend.  I'm already planning another project with them I'm so pleased with their work.   Thank you Mike, you and your staff were incredibly great!

These guys did a really great job installing 735 sq' of silver travertine on our back patio and courtyard.  Installation was complete in 3 days- did a great job cleaning up.  Mike was easy to work with, always answered his phone and did what he said he was going to do.  I usually don't go with the low bid on jobs, but after talking with Mike I can understand how he is able to offer such a great price.  The answer is volume. He has 5 crews working constantly and the fact that they do such a great job (great reviews) and his price per foot is less- he wins most the bids.  It's a win win.  I highly recommend these guys

Mike and his crew did a really nice job of laying our pavers at a great price. Mike responded quickly to our inquiries.  He is a low frills, get the work done kinda guy. Thank you Mike!!  Our patio and front path look awesome.

We had 900 sq ft of silver travertine installed on our patio and pool deck. When I called Mike, he made an appointment right away, showed up on time and provided us with a quote on the spot. When I called him to set it up, he came out right away with a contract and started work the following week. We were also having our house painted, so we needed to make sure the work was complete prior to that. Mike promised us it would be done and it was, even several days early. When the work was complete, Mike stopped by to check the work and even called the worker back to fix one tile that we were not happy with. His guy stopped by an hour later and replaced the tile and the grout and the job looks great. Mike was very responsive by phone or text and told us to make sure we told the guys what we wanted them to do or fix. We are very happy with our completed job!

Recently had pavers and more install pavers and artificial turf for us.  Mike was great to deal with.  He was upfront about everything and delivered everything that he promised.  His prices were better than any other estimate that we received, but lower prices did not equate to lower quality.  The pavers and turf were exactly what we wanted and his workers were very professional and took pride in their work.  They did not hurry to get done but worked steady and did a top notch job, one that they could be proud of.  There were no surprises with the bill and I would not hesitate to give friends and neighbors the phone number for this company.
I know they will thank me for it.

I would highly recommend Pavers and More. Pavers and More beat the quotes we received from other companies. Mike was professional and responsive to all of our requests, including working with us on changes as the project progressed. The work was completed on time, and the finished product looks fantastic, with great attention to detail.

I so wish I could give Mike 5 stars. He is a true professional but he is so busy he can't supervise all of his crews. The material he uses to very nice and he is very clear when he bids the job. We had our back yard done, a side walkway, front porch and small walks on either side of our driveway. My issue is with the crew and the crew leader. They did not follow the outline Mike put down. The crew leader left and was not around most of the time - his workers buried our irrigation valve, compacted the sand and paved over it. It broke and flooded our yard and the neighbor's yard. They did try to fix it but the pounding it took caused the electronics to malfunction. It took 3 tries to get it fixed - Mike finally did it himself. The crew was supposed to leave a section unpaved for an irrigation run to the back yard - they paved it and had to come back and redo it. The patio border was not followed - I finally had to lay out the correct bricks to be put in. I like the patio but it was too much trouble with the crew. I hire a contractor because I don't want to do-it-myself. Mike cares about his business but I think he might think about running so many crews to avoid situations like this. From the good reviews. it seems like he has some very good crews but we did not have one of them.

Love this company.  The estimate was fair and the crew was exceptional. They came on time, finished on time, and thoroughly cleaned up.

I had these folks do my patio and a walkway, about 700 sf.  Just a couple of points.   First, he advertises a low price per sf, but don't think that's what you'll pay.  There will be additional costs, such as grading and other materials.  I'm guessing that's normal, but just be aware.  In my case, I did pay for additional grading, but one corner of the job was not properly graded.  In that corner, there is a very quick rise of about 7 inches.  That should have been leveled, but it wasn't.  I noticed it when I put patio furniture in that area, and the chairs all stood on 3 legs.  Ok, no problem, I'll just ask Mike to come by and tell me if anything can be done to correct the situation.  He agreed to come the following week, but never showed up.  I asked when he will come, and he said he won't.  Really a shame, because it would probably have taken just a couple hours of his crew's time to correct, and I would have given him 5 stars.  The rest of the job was well done, and the price was still under my other bids, even with the extras.

Mike and his crew did an awesome job on our backyard.  They worked quickly and got a huge job done in no time.  Very impressed.  If you need any large area hardscaped, Pavers and More is the way to go!

I had a great experience with Pavers and More. Mike the owner is easy to work with and very straight forward in his approach. He completed the job on time and did exactly what we agreed to.
