NR Quality Handyman

We had seven relatively small jobs that required skills in carpentry, plumbing, electric, and painting (originally there were less until I tried to do them myself) and Nick took them all on. He did a truly outstanding job. In writing this review, I really gave a lot of thought to why my wife and I consider Nick a true five-star handyman. Let me start with HONESTY. He came out to look over the jobs and determine whether or not he could indeed do them; then provided a written estimate so there were no surprises or "up charges" (as I have experienced with previous handyman services). This is something to really consider when you get a verbal estimate, sight unseen, over the phone as has happened to us in the past and the job took longer than planned. Second DEPENDABILITY. When Nick said he would be here at 8am, he absolutely was here at 8am. Again, prior to using Nick, we would get a "range" of time say from 8-noon and you would not be able to plan. Third RESPECT for your property. Nick demonstrated this by setting up in the garage where he cut wood, painted, assembled materials etc rather than drag everything to one task, then drag it across the house to the next task then drag things to the third task in another location. This was impressive, and unusual but avoided damage to walls and floors as we had previously experienced.
Fourth, QUALITY. We were amazed at the outcome. The carpentry work was excellent, the electrical was done correctly, the painting made the repairs look as good as new and the plumbing works again like it did when first installed. Last, was PRICE. I mentioned earlier about honesty. The jobs ran over the one day estimated yet, the price was exactly as quoted. No upcharge, no extra labor cost, as a matter of fact in one job the materials cost less so Nick reduced the overall cost by that savings.
The bottom line is, based on our experience and observations, and the outcome of the seven projects he did for us, we absolutely recommend Nick for your handyman jobs. His trailer says "no job too small" and we can sure verify that. Moreover, his practice of viewing the task first, and giving a written estimate in my opinion guarantees he won't take on a task he cannot complete to the highest quality.

Found Nick on Yelp, highly rated, so called him to replace all weatherstripping to keep the scorpions out.  He did a fantastic job on all doors, all areas are completely sealed where there was some light showing before.  We also had an exterior door that didn't close as it should, he also fixed that so it shuts perfectly.  All done for a very fair price. Nick came out quickly and handled the job professionally.  Very nice guy, did great work, I highly recommend and will certainly use Nick's services again!

Nick the Handyman deserves an excellent rating   I highly recommend him. He was a good problem-solver and stuck with a tricky project. He is very professional, courteous, persistent and patient! I called NR Quality Handyman seeking an estimate for last minute repairs before selling my house. My phone call was well after 7:30 pm and in the voicemail message, I informed Nick of the short timeframe I needed the repairs done by.
Even though Nick was booked out for that week and would not be able to perform the work, he still returned my phone call within just a few minutes to let me know. Needless to say, I was surprised and impressed that he took the time to do so as most contractors would not have bothered. That is why I think he deserves 5 stars and kudos. Much appreciated.

Nick is wonderful and thanks to him, we have a new kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal.  We've been limping along quite awhile with a leaking, finicky faucet and non-functional disposal for well over 2 years.  It was getting really bad.

I called Nick mid November and he was booked for 2 weeks, but he said he'd try to find time and squeeze me in.  And he did.  He came on Mon, Nov 24th.  Originally it was to just install the garbage disposal and my husband thought he could put the kitchen faucet in.  I felt that this job was too big for my husband who had never done anything like this and it best that Nick do it.

Anyway, when Nick came, I had asked him before he came that morning if he could also install the faucet, that he was better equipped to do it since we don't have very many tools or the know how.  Yes, ideally and theoretically it shouldn't be hard, but after doing some other home repairs, nothing is quite as easy as it can be if you know what you're doing with the right tools, neither of which we had or were.

During the course of Nick taking out the garbage disposal and the stuff for the sink, he needed to go to Home Depot to get some stuff that we needed.  He was going to replace the water lines, as they didn't look good and needed to be replaced on the home that was about 14 years old.  Because whomever installed the sink that was there not totally as they should have (I'm guessing the builders), he had to remove the sink also.  The sink looked pretty bad, so we decided to replace that.

Nick went with me to Lowe's, which is where I normally go.  I decided, with Nick's help, to buy a better and deeper economical sink and not the least expensive sink because the thickness of those sinks weren't all that great.  So, we stepped it up one.  Thankfully Nick went with me because he knew all the things we needed to get.  

Oh, I forgot my debit card at home, so Nick paid for it for me and then later I would reimburse him.  Awesome!  Saved us another trip home and back due to my error.  

The cost to install the faucet was $70.  The cost of the garbage disposal was $70.  Then there were additional costs to do the sink, which was a little weird with how the builders constructed that area, so that took extra work.  I can't remember this and he also snaked the kitchen plumbing.

I think all this took about 4-5 hours, which included the trips to Lowe's & Home Depot.  Thankfully both stores are relatively close to me.  

Nick has a nice work truck with pull along trailer storage unit that houses his tools and accessories he needs for his jobs.  He wears his work logo/shirt and is very professionally positioned.  

I was super impressed.  After everything was installed, looked so nice and working well, he cleaned up the area and the mess that was created.  He took the old sink, garbage disposal, faucet to the garbage bin, swept my kitchen and cleaned up all around.

Nick does his work with integrity and it was great to catch up with him, as it's been years since I had seen him.  I'm so glad I thought to give Nick and call and the last time he did stuff for me, he was just doing this on the side.  Now, 6 years later, he's been building and running his business successfully and I am so proud of him.

Oh, and he also gave me a discount, which every little bit helps.  Nick made it easy for me, and though he encountered some problems due to our stuff, he was great about everything - wonderful service, workmanship, everything.  

I wish you much success and that your business grows, thrives and is abundantly prosperous.  Lastly, Nick also gave me tips on how to care for and keep things running well so we don't have the issues we've had in the past.

I can understand why Nick has good reviews on Yelp.  He is honest, meticulous, and most importantly a skilled craftsman.  He definitely takes pride in his work.  One of the things I respected about Nick was his ability to talk through options not only for the now but over time "to consider" with the project.  He was called in after another handyman's work was less than complete nor satisfactory.
He repaired a drywall section in our master bath which was used as an entry point to our roman tub.  When he arrived I asked him to recut the cutout to refasten the tub spout.  He did this without any problem and the additional charge was very reasonable.  
When I initially contacted him I had some electrical questions too.  He suggested that I call in an electrician "just in case above his scope of expertise"..."why pay for my services if the electrician can handle it from the beginning?".   Honest and ethical.  
Nick will be our "go to guy" from here on out.

Nick was professional and courteous.  Responded fairly quickly to our need for a quotation.  He helped me pick up the new toilet from homedepot and brought it over to install. His rates were reasonable. Also fixed several small items in our bathrooms and kitchen.  Very good experience and will use his services in the future most definitely.

Nick's a great guy. He helped me with what turned out to be a BIG job - replacing a water heater.

Nick is all about customer service. I wasn't able to get the new water heater to the house before he came to do the install so he drove me up to Home Depot to pick it up! He didn't get flustered at any of the little problems we ran into along the way. He just got things done.

Very, very capable. I wouldn't hesitate to use him for more jobs. Hopefully smaller ones next time! =)

Nick was great.  Had him come help me hang a pretty heavy big screen TV. Took the care and time to make sure everything was perfect.  Didn't rush at all.  I'm now looking around the house to see what other jobs I can have him help with.

I can be a pretty demanding customer., especially with the stress of buying a new house coupled with a new job in the same week. Nick helped to make things a little less stressful.

I called him on a Tuesday to do a difficult ceiling fan install on 14 ft high vaulted ceilings. He was there Wednesday afternoon and did everything that was required to get it done. Whoever build my house/did the wiring did a half assed job that rivaled DMV customer service. Nick worked under the light if a headlamp, cut into drywall, went to a hardware store, rewired the entire system, and then installed the second one. He was there for over 4 hours and kept us informed the whole way through. He stayed over 4 hours, until the job was completed.

After that we had a conversation with him where he have us insider knowledge on what plumbers charge (ever heard of a trip charge? That's where you pay some clown to come out to tell you he can't fix something). I will be using nick for this home and every other property I own. He even charged us less than quoted and wouldn't take my cash when I tried to pay extra. I'll have to find a way to sneak it in to payment for other jobs!

Nick seems like a very pleasant fellow, but be careful, as he may offer you a special price verbally but then not back it up when the job is done.  Make sure you get any discounts in writing first!  Also, you may not get a return call within a reasonable time.  I am only referring to my experiences with him.

Nick let my dog outside without remembering he left my gate open. Very painful and expensive accident. Thankfully I found my dog in the shelter after paying several unexpected and expensive fees to get him out. This was something that could've been avoided had he closed the gate after he finished what he was doing.  He didn't follow up on his work or respond when I told him the work he did was leaking.

Nick Russo is QUICK. Patched a hole in the stucco on my house and replaced a fan blade arm. It took him less than 15 minutes. You might have to wait a few days for him to get to you, but he's worth it!

I called Nick on Thurs. and he was able to come out on Sat..  I was impressed with his kind demeanor, clean-up, patience and work skills.  I had a "honey do" list and he was able to accomplish it all within a reasonable time and even offered tips on how to maintain appliances.  He uses technology to confirm appts., and pay the bill.  
I needed drawer slides repaired, refrigerator moved and coils cleaned, washer & dryer moved and vent vacuumed.  He noticed a few roof tiles needed adjusting and blew the debris off the roof.  He will be back to replace broken roof tiles.  His prices were reasonable and the job well done.  
If you have a job he does not do, he can offer a network of technicians he works with to fix the problem.  He will be my go to handyman first for all jobs.

We contacted him online and gave him a time we would like to be contacted, as per his request. He sends a response saying he will do his best to respond in that time frame. Not only did he not respond during that time frame, he did not respond at all. Being too busy is one thing, but to just ignore you and not even take a few seconds to send even an email response? Obviously his website statement about high standards is laughable based on our experience.

Spoke to him on a Tuesday about coming by the next day to give us an estimate on relocating our kitchen cabinets. But he never showed up and never called. Its now Friday and we still haven't heard from him. I guess we'll just move on.

Nick fixed several things for me on a post home inspection list. He changed out a bathroom faucet, fixed a non working GFI outlet and reinsulated the air conditioning exterior hose.

Nick was proficient with his time, while he got to work on disassembling the items that needed to be changed out I dashed off to Home Depot to purchase what he needed, this included a phone call between Nick and the staff at Home Depot to ensure I was purchasing exactly what he needed!

Nick even provided me with a couple of tips on how to keep things running more efficient whether it be for my own home or this sale property.  His pricing was very reasonable and his back & forth communication from when I first reached out to him to the end of the job was excellent. I highly recommend using his services and will definitely reach out to him again when I need something else done.

Nick came to my home promptly at 8am to accommodate my schedule. He not only provided great care, attention, and service to my home needs but also was flexible with my toddler and dog. He was affordable and a great help when I was in a bind. I would recommend him to anyone who needs services in their home!

I can not say enough great things about Nick.  Contact Nick to repair a kitchen drawer that has a broken side board.  Nicks communication was excellent and his repair price was extremely reasonable.  Nick was able to make the repair in a couple of days.  Definitely 5 stars!!

I called Nick for three things:  a clogged up bathroom sink, a toilet that was constantly refilling, and a kitchen sink faucet that was frozen up.  I set up an appointment for a Saturday.  Nick called to confirm in the morning and called again a half hour before arriving.  He fixed the toilet and sink that was driving me crazy and checked for leaks in both.

The kitchen sink faucet, he informed me that if I sent a picture to Moen and told them the problem the faucet had a lifetime guarantee and they would either send parts or a new faucet for free.  When it does arrive he will come and install it.  The faucet is around $150, so that will save me money.

He was very nice, professional and delivered quality work.  In addition he cleaned up after himself and was respectful of my time and space.  I would use him again and would recommend him to my friends and family.

Needed a guy to replace an existing ceiling fan with a new one, and install 2 ceiling speakers.  Free visit for estimate impressed us, all of the above mentioned. Got a bit lower quote from another guy but went with Nick - and am very pleased.  Took his time, careful with details, and clean-up. Did everything in a timely manner exactly as estimate specified. Guess who we will call anytime anything else comes up? Highly recommend.

Words are insufficient to describe Nick's professional services and expertise, but I'll give it a whirl!  He is by far, the BEST handyman I have ever had.  He is knowledgeable in SO many areas and has a fantastic work ethic. We contacted Nick, to get an estimate for doing some small repairs in our Ahwatukee home. He is a busy guy, but took time to come home and gave us a fair estimate. We scheduled him for the repairs 3 weeks out (that's how busy he is). He came in fixed the crack in our ceiling, (taped, sealed and painted the ceiling), replaced a toilet kit, replaced a faulty electric switch. All this for about $400. The work was clean and exceptional, price very reasonable and everything was on schedule. He came across as very honest and dependable. Will be the first person to call, if I had any small repairs.

This is guy is fantastic! I needed a second set of hands to hand two 12' gas pipe curtain rods, and 9' roller shade, move a heavy light chandelier, and a few other things.
