My experience with Nerd Power has been a rollercoaster of emotion, to quote the great Ron Burgundy. It has been a tale of two halves. I would give the first part of our experience 1 star. However, the team rebounded in the second half and delivered an awesome product. I would give the second half of our experience 5 stars.

The first three months: 1 Star Review
- The NerdPower team was unable to deliver the product they sold us, and attempted to charge us extra to install what we had originally purchased. We struggled to get in contact with knowledgeable resources that could help us make decisions and move the project forward. There were about 3 months of back and forth conversation before our project officially started.
- Miscommunication everywhere. We'd have a conversation with one NerdPower team member, and it would be like the conversation never happened. None of the information was documented or relayed to the wider team. It was extremely frustrating.

The next three months: 5 Star Review
-Our experience turned a corner for the better when I called customer service. Benton took control of my experience and began moving the project forward. He was empathetic, organized, and put us in touch with the right people. Just what we needed to save our experience.
- Benton connected us with knowledgeable leaders that could guide our decision making around the products we needed to complete our installation.
- Oscar from the installation team had significant experience in solar installation, and helped make key decisions on site.
- The electricians that worked on our home were amazing. Anthony executed a complex project to bend the conduit and hide it from view so it was not an eyesore on the home. Ron and Angel were both amazing as well. They treated my home with care, as if it was their own. Their professionalism and attention to detail was top notch, and I'm grateful for the work they did on our home.
- Zach was an excellent communicator during the second half of the project and critical to getting our project completed.

Hopefully the NerdPower team is able to learn from the mistakes made in the first half of the experience. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product we ended up with. It was a complex installation, and the team finished strong.

Welp, standard rude door to door people.  I understand that you need to sell your product, but when you and your neighbors have no soliciting signs up, DON'T KNOCK or RING DOORBELL!

We are not ever interested in whatever you are selling.  We are 100% going to say NO because you are already not respecting our wishes.  This means that we 100% will not trust you and if I can't trust someone that I will do business with, then I will never do business with them.

Stay far away as they are interested in only their business and not what is best for me.

UPDATE:  The owner replied to me with more lies. Please read their reviews before you decide to go with them, I did read them and most of them were negative reviews with a one star rating, they will lie thru their teeth to try to get you to use them. He said I was slandering them, is it slander when you tell the consumers exactly what you were told??? I was told that I HAD to finance the system and pay a monthly fee of $79 to Nerdpower and still pay some money to Edison,  If I pay for the solar power why do I have to pay Edison or any one anything, if I pay in cash as he said I can't do (the sales man said I had to finance it) they I own the power from my solar panels and should have no electric bill and not pay for any power used after all my solar panels are supposed to generate the power to use in my home or was this another lie?  anyway I look at it, this company is selling a bunch of bullshit and trying to scam you.
Here is some of the negative review on this page

This company drags things out forever! At first I was satisfied but throughout the process they continue to delay and delay. Today I was supposed to have my final inspection with the city after almost 6 months and shocker the company forgot to send someone out!!! So now delayed again to reschedule with the city who is backed up a month!!

Jason H. 1 star rating
Avoid this company at all cost. If you are looking for solar call Your electricity provider 1st for recommendations because this group will drag their feet on the installation, get paperwork wrong "several" times and bill you before the work is completed. Example I signed up for service November of 2021 as of today September 2nd 2022 it's still incomplete and I'm still on the grid paying for electricity and solar power at the same time. The sales team is full of lies stating that I would only have 1 bill going forward once installation is complete, CPS stated their is no way around not getting an electricity bill even with solar. Shady very shady. Looking forward to selling my house now to get out of business with this company
they DO NOT tell you the following which you have to find out if they sucker you into buying the panels and you find this out later

Sean B.1 star rating
It has now been more than a month since I realized that NERD Power destroyed my roof, I had notified them to get it fixed and I am still waiting for results.

and there is still more 1 star ratings out of 8 ratings 6 are 1 star 1 is two star and there is one 5 star,  they are doing bad on review

There has been zero proactive follow up by the destroyers, as the only time
One of the main reasons people go solar is to lower their electric bills. The thought is: If your solar panels generate more electricity than your home uses, you wouldn't need any electricity from the utility grid--and that would mean you wouldn't have an electric bill! Right?
Unfortunately, that's not how electricity bills work, especially when you consider your daily energy usage habits and required fees from the utility company. This post will explain why you will still have an electric bill after installing solar panels, but also how solar energy can still help you save on your overall energy costs.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY WHO WILL LIE TO TRY TO GET YOU TO BUY SOLAR PANELS AND THEN NOT TELL YOU ALL THE FACTS AND THEN REPLY WITH EVEN MORE LIES.

I saw their booth at the Costa mesa home show and had them come give me an estimate, what got me is that within 2 minutes of walking away from the booth they were already calling me ( seems desperate for business) I thought that was a little odd since it was to quick to call me, had them come out and they were trying to get me to agree that day to sign a contract.
I told them I was not going to install at this time and they still tried to pressure me into a contract. now a week later I get another call to set a new appointment to have someone come out and try to push it on me again. WHAT PART OF NO DID THEY NOT UNDERSTAND?
They seem to need to get jobs so they are very high pressure on sales and I do not like to be pushed into a expensive job.
they told me the job would take months to finish and made all sorts of excuses for the time frame, it does not take long to get a permit or inspection, I had windows installed and had the permit in a few days and once done the inspector was out 3 days later to inspect the window, so them saying it takes months to get permit and longer to get inspector is a flat out lie.

they say to save on electric bill, what they don't tell you when they try to scam you is that you still have to pay someone for the power you are using (what the hell? if I have power on my roof why do I have to give Nerd Power almost $80/mo. of my money, would rather keep my roof intact and pay Edison each month)
These people are the biggest con artists I have seen. most of the reviews are negative for them on this site

It has now been more than a month since I realized that NERD Power destroyed my roof, I had notified them to get it fixed and I am still waiting for results.
There has been zero proactive follow up by the destroyers, as the only time I've heard a response back, has been the result of an inquiry. Of those responses, it has been very non-committal  statements that they haven't gotten the roofer's proposal back yet, they are still waiting on the roofer to get back to them, the roofer needs to order materials, we should hear something next week, etc. not once was I ever reached out to, for them to let me know that they've truly done anything towards fixing my roof.

I am finally at my wits end and have given them the ultimatum to get it fixed within the next week or I would source my own solar installers to remove the panels, a roofer to replace the broken tiles and then the installers to correct all of the shortcomings of the original install. This work would be billed against their contractors bond, and I hope not to need to go that route. I am embarrassed for them that it's gotten to this point, but I have no choice.

Update 5/28/21
They scheduled my roof repairs to happen yesterday and today. I took the 2 days off of work to be present while they were here, so I'd be available in case they had any questions, I could personally inspect the roof before the roofer left and before the panels were reinstalled.

Over 70 tiles that were broken, were replaced yesterday. There are still another 30 tiles that need replacing.
In addition to the above, their roofer only brought 12 (Twelve) tiles to do this work. I had 30 spares left over from my roofing renovation and grabbed another 30 from a nieghbor who was redoing their roof and had extras.
Because they didn't plan at all, they didn't have enough tiles to finish the roof. Day 2 of the work, I email NERD power to find out when their subs would be arriving. I was told that since they didn't have enough tiles (enough must mean more than the 12 they brought), that they would have to come back next week.

I have no words. 100 broken tiles. I take 2 days off work, and I end up being the only one at my house wanting to get things fixed.
Also in this process, they mislabeled my added electrical panel, to where that 2 of the breakers for my home were buried in the solar disconnect breakers. When they shut off my solar to fix my roof, they killed power to 2 parts of my house. Then they left and never came back. When I checked my breakers, all breakers were on. I had to open up the panel, break out my electrical meter and go through the panel until I could find the breakers.

Buyer beware and read every single detail about your potential solar loan! They just want to make the sale! They don't tell you that the tax incentive the government offers is only on the solar loan that PUTS A LIEN ON YOUR HOUSE! So even if they tell you , Yes you can sell you house, the solar loan is transferable, IT IS NOT! There are two types of solar loans. So do your homework if purchasing and read the fine print and do not take their word. We learned the hard way! Only way to sell our house now is buy paying off a 50k dollar loan. Shame on nerd power for lying. These companies are not regulated by anyone. They can say whatever they want. I do not recommend solar and definitely DO NOT recommend nerd power!

Samuel Perruccio from Nerd Power (714) 907-3807, has been a great salesman who was not aggressive to push the sale of the solar panels.  He provided us with specific details and assured us after he answered a lot of questions before, during, and after the purchase of the panels.  He even came over to see the progress and completion of the installation.  The crew that installed the panels worked diligently and mastered a great installation.  They were very friendly and also answered our questions.

We would highly recommend Samuel Perruccio as Nerd Power's representative to sell you Nerd Power solar panels.  We were impressed by his knowledge, demeanor, and reliable service that we decided to purchase the solar panels.

I would have given Nerd Power 4 stars but the wrap-up of my install has left such a bad taste in my mouth, I am completely over them at this point. As per other reviews, their lack of responsiveness is a SERIOUS issue and a big factor in why I am dropping them down to two stars.

I am based in Tucson while Nerd Power has its HQ in Phoenix- this caused most things to be scheduled far out because each step required that their team drive down 2 hours. If I had really understood how small their Tucson presence actually was, I likely would have never hired them. I also found I would need to check in from time to time because I wouldn't hear about what was happening with my install for weeks at points in the process.

However, it all would be water under the bridge if my system hadn't been left off for nearly two weeks after the electric company connected the solar to their grid. The final connection was weeks delayed, so I was unfortunately out of town when it happened. However, Nerd Power was notified by my electric company that the system had been connected. I trusted them to get the system powered on in my absence, however, it wasn't until I returned TWO WEEKS LATER that I found the switch was still off and I hadn't even been placed on the schedule for a tech to come out.

I ended up having to power the system on myself since a tech couldn't come out for another week. The cherry on top is that after the TENS OF THOUSANDS I spent on this system + install, I am now on the hook with TEP for my house having tapped into their power grid 24/7 for 2 weeks. Meaning I owe them almost an entire month's bill for just 2 weeks of use because the electric use fees increase when you switch to solar (No one told me this part- please do not just go off of what the salesman tell you, call you electric company and confirm everything!)

When I raised this with Nerd Power, I really thought they'd at least take the time to respond and listen. Instead, I got told, "what do you expect us to do, your system is already on" followed by an email I sent to another team member that was vaguely "forwarded" to to other team members followed by dead silence. Over it!

I wanted to put in a good word for Nerd Power who installed our solar panels.  From the very first contact they were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They explained in detail what our options were and answered all our technical questions in detail.  During these crazy days of Covid when any issues or questions arose, we had a designated lead person we could always contact.  The end result was a professional solar panel installation that passed City inspection. During the install process I found all the employees of Nerd Power to be knowledgeable, trustworthy and available.  I highly recommend this company for your solar panel installation.

I would have initially rated this company and my experience with them as five starts, however the post-install support has been excruciatingly disappointing.

The process started over a year ago when I first purchased my home. Getting solar installed was at the top of my list and I received quotes from a few companies but due to some circumstances didn't move forward. I was contacted again by NERD Power in late June and I decided to move forward.

The sales and install process was great and communication throughout was okay as far as getting timeline updates.

After the solar system was energized I noticed it was having DAILY communication failures with the monitoring server over the cellular network.  NERD repeatedly brushed aside my concerns and getting in-touch with anybody at the company was difficult to say the least. I decided to let the problem go until recently. I was reading the manufacturers website when I discovered that my Inverter was activated with a known firmware problem and it should have been upgraded. I've now spent the last couple of weeks trying to get NERD to solve the problem and it isn't going well.

Nobody answers the phones, only 1 guy seems to inconsistently respond to e-mails. I had been ranting about this company and recommending it to friends however I no longer am.

I'm in a small 1000sq ft home and keep my heat at 67 and never leave lights on, my monthly electric bill has been $100+ over the winter. I was told by the sales person my electric bill would be nothing in the winter and maybe $8 to $15 in the summer because of AC. Completely lied to. My summer bill was in the $60s. This is NOT WORTH the money.

Too expensive, no customer service, no options for the install, and no idea what I have on my roof. For the money spent I could've gotten a tesla power wall.

I'm disappointed. I know the power inverter has wifi access but I don't know how to access it. Also, the power inverter doesn't support battery backup. Something I would've wanted if I had just been asked. I have no idea if the system is performing as it should.

Horrible service. They cut holes in the roof to crawl around my attic rather than knock on my door while I was home.

The two gentlemen first came to my home mentioned the government programs available to help pay for these changes, Karl came to my home the next week and we discussed some different options for about an hour. Karl also mentioned these state programs that would help with the cost but did not say exactly what they were. We scheduled another meeting, I did some quick googling about these supposed government programs and found out quick I didn't qualify. When I told Karl I wasn't interested he responded like a small child who had his toy taken away, accusing me of making something up and lying. Don't be like Karl, work with adults.  Nerd power is like every other solar company that knocks on your door, they just want your money.

I got my panels over a year ago and I still have the same complaints. If the salesman had more knowledge I would have known not to go with this company. They didn't give me the panels needed for a 3 bedroom home but instead gave me enough for a two bedroom and said that if we sell the new owners will have to get more for themselves. There are other companies out there that will help
You with what you want, it's my fault I didn't know better and went with what they said. PLEASE do your own research and don't believe everything they say.

I loved that the pricing options for the installation of the new roof and solar panels plus an upgrade on our HVAC to an AC unit was affordable and rolled into one payment plan. However, after nearly six months, we are STILL waiting to hear back from the HVAC contractor to start that portion of the project. Having started this process in early November, we thought the HVAC would be done long before the end of April. We are now approaching the warm season in Tucson, AZ and still no word on this. I've called multiple times to check on this and rarely get a call back. Communication with this company is really poor.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. We have had two sales fall through on our home because they can't qualify for the solar. Wish we never had put on in the first place. So if you're looking to sell your home in the future because now we absolutely feel stuck. DONT DO IT.
Note* buyer of our home had excellent credit 770 and they still wouldn't approve it.
Also a little side note whoever installed it broke numerous tile on our roof when installing.  We only notified because it showed up in our inspection right after.

Misrepresent company, using fear as a sales tactic.
Door to door salesperson showed up acting as an SRP rep with SRP logo on a phamplet to get me on a "new SRP plan" to save money. Continued to ask about how they can get me on the "new SRP plan" because they shut down a power plant in Page, AZ (true) and costs will go up soon (false). I finally said, wait you work for SRP and had to be very pointed to get the truth... Oh, you are a Solar Company trying to act like SRP to gain trust... NOT COOL Nerd Power... not cool

We just received the 3rd consecutive Edison bill containing a credit rather than an amount due. Very happy about our savings since installing solar with NERD Power. Brendan Ganch was knowledgeable, patient, always available for questions and explained our solar options clearly. We had interviewed another solar company and were left with the feeling that there was something we weren't being told. Instead, Brendan at NERD Power kept us well informed through every step of the installation. NERD Power's installation work was without flaw. All NERD workmen were friendly, polite, talented and extremely professional. The work was clean and done on time. It has been several months since we converted to solar power and we are extremely satisfied. Our family strongly recommends NERD Power for solar installation!

N.E.R.D. Power provided us with energy optimization services and solar installation in our home and did a fantastic job. Their company concept of helping reduce energy use before pushing solar is a great one, as solar isn't always appropriate for every home. They helped us improve on a few areas like insulation and fixtures, then proceeded with the solar and made the process very smooth and easy for us. The whole team was very accommodating and responsive, highly recommend!

N.E.R.D. Power the one to trust.  They offer a complete solution compared to the other guys Solar System.

These systems are engineered to meet the home or business owners needs optimizing system capacity with demand.  Their goal is to design a system that fits both physically and financially.  Ultimately allowing you to pay yourself by offsetting your power bill just enough for the system to pays for itself.

What makes N.E.R.D Power stand apart from the rest?  They are not just selling solar systems.  They are providing you with a complete package that address many of the concerns related to switching to solar power.

Programs listed below with brief descriptions.

This leads me to the big question on everyone's mind; How much and what I'm I paying for?  My answer: you are paying for excellence.

I have been working as a professional in the technical industry for several decades and have yet to see a program that is this well put together that I did not personally oversee.  N.E.R.D Power has put some real though into all aspects of the project.  From selecting the right Solar System to how to mitigate the new associated charges from your Electric Company.

Their solar system is 100% home grown in the USA.  Everything from the panels to the monitoring service.

N.E.R.D Powers pricing in on point.  There is very little markup in materials and no extravagant fees that I can see associated with the purchase.  The only place I could see anyone really saving money is in the finance fees if you wanted to seek financing elsewhere or pay cash.

Other companies may claim they can save you money and might be telling you the truth.  However, my experience is companies like that cannot deliver what they promise because the are counting on sub-contractors for follow through.

Every person I have spoken to proudly wears the N.E.R.D power logo.  This happens to be the only way to ensure quality from start to finish.  Most importantly I have yet to encounter a disgruntled employee.  Being a manager myself this leads me to believe they all believe in what they are doing.  Hats off to you N.E.R.D Power.

Brighttech Program:

LED Lighting program; this replaces all existing lighting with energy efficient LED Lights.  This lowers your power consumption for lighting by 85% over traditional incandescent bulbs and 35% over CFL bulbs.
Bulbs per Kilowatt for comparison (60 watt equivalent rating): 16 incandescent, 74 CFL or 111 LED.

Smart Thermostat Program:

This replaces the traditional non-connected thermostats within your home with connected programable thermostats.

This allows you to manage your air conditioning system through programing and by remote.  Most people do not realize that your homes air conditioner normally consumes more electricity than any other single item in your home.  An average system requires 4-7KW to operate and most 2 story homes have 2.

Smart Shield Program:

This program inspects, seals and adds insulation to attic spaces.

Over time as building settle and air gaps are created in attic spaces.

Sealants break down in your ducts with the constant expansion and contraction of material with the constant change of the temperature.

Here in the greater Phoenix Are R38-49 is recommended and most builders only install R19.  This is starting to change with new construction but was the standard for the last several decades.

I've had my solar panels on my house for about a year and a half... After some initial difficulties, overall I am very pleased with this company.  The vice president of the company, Brian, reached out to me on multiple occasions and has been very very communicative and responsive...I would recommend this company definitely if you're looking for solar for your house.... they have a whole program where they put LED lights and seal your ducts, blow in insulation and then they install your solar panels with an energy monitoring device.  we got off to kind of a rocky start but everything in my eyes has been rectified and made up for.  I recommend this company!

the only reason I am giving a 2 star is because of Chris Le. he came out to my place of resident and i told him to check in with me in a week after i get back from my vacation. so last week he gave me a call and we set a date for 5/15/21 at 11am. Was all set for the person to come out and have a chat on how they could help with my bill. Here is why the low rating, i get a call from Segal? I could not make out the name from the VM but I called her back and she told me her adviser is running late. the previous appointment was over an hour late so he returned to that appointment but fail to let the office know to give the next person a heads up. instead I was waiting around till about 11:20am before she contacted me. I get things happen which you cannot control but how you react is 100% in your control. Letting a customer know that he is behind well after the scheduled appointment is highly annoying. Then telling me can we do something closer to 1pm. still not giving me a concrete time slot is why I am sour about the interaction i had with Nerd Power.

Then Chris Le contacted me today and asked why I had "cancelled" my appointment this past weekend, and I had to explain to him the whole story. So again instead of update the contact/ appointment on what really happened Segal? just cancelled my appointment and made it look like I did not want the service. In reality it was the poor way they handled their customer service is why I declined the reschedule of the appointment.  Chris Le would be getting a 5 star from me but I am unable to rate him by himself...

Absolutely excruciating and overall miserable install process. Going on six months and have failed multiple inspections. Time lapse between install phases are a month at a time. Initial site inspection and plan layout person didn't know the difference between north and south. We have our first loan payment due next month and don't see any path forward to having functional panels...so I'll be paying for both TEP and solar. Not recommended company and wish I could go back and research other companies prior to signing the contract. Overall customer service lacking...they've been paid the the credit union, so why would they be motivated to complete the install. I can only imagine what post install support will look like. I'm hosed.

We highly recommend the N.E.R.D. Power Team for their excellent service and attention to detail!  Brendan Ganch, our N.E.R.D. Area Manager, was phenomenal throughout the entire process and his solar knowledge and attention to detail is amazing! If you are thinking about solar, contact Brendan Ganch at 818-351-6806 or brendan.ganch@nerdpower.…. We've recommended him to our friends and family and will continue to do so!
Brendan was far more knowledgeable than the other reps we met with from other companies. He also cut through the BS gimmicks and gave us an honest assessment of what our home's needs were and provided his professional recommendation on our best solution. He took the time to do a full analysis of our energy usage habits and then designed the most efficient weighted ballast system for our home.  Drilling mounts into our flat roof was a concern for us due to the risk of leaks but NERD Power had a solution with their special flat roof mount that requires no roof penetrations! The entire process was so easy and we couldn't be happier with the finished project, including an upgraded electrical panel!!!
Our average monthly electric bill before solar was well over $300/mo. The first LADWP bill we received after going solar was $45 for 125 days...this is ridiculously amazing!!!! The only reason it wasn't $0 is because LADWP charges a $10/mo grid connection fee for solar customers. Feels great knowing our energy needs are covered for the next 25+ years and we are doing our part to reduce our carbon emissions. Simply, amazing!

Working with NeRD power is easy and smooth. Whenever we had questions our sales rep was always able to answer within a reasonable time frame. Other members of the company also make the process easier by giving constant updates. Throughout this entire process we never felt alone in this project and when mishaps occured they were taken care of. When it came to the installation, Scott's team was quick and precise. We would highly recommend to others!

Updating Review:
Still would give no stars to this company.
1: The day I wrote this review a customer service rep called, asking that we edit or adjust our review without offering a resolution to our problems.
2: Solar Panel information STILL not feeding into the app
3: Have been calling for 6 days now, with countless hang ups, messages, and "sorry that person is out today" responses from Nerd Power customer Service people.
4: Today after both my husband and I called very upset, (we called at 9am and the phone lines weren't  turned on yet).... still  waiting for an email that will tell us how to reset the WIFI portion of the panels that links to our app...
WHY IS THIS OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

Signed contract in March - Still no solar, just paying $246.00 a month for the WORST service we have ever experienced... in 6 days we have been on hold for a total of 75 minutes trying to get our app working, lied to 4 times about call backs and STILL have not received email instructions.

I would go with any other company at this point......

A NERD Power van was in my Lakewood, California neighborhood today, Jan. 4. A very youthful-appearing young man stood on the front porch, knocking, while he held his mask in one hand. Needless to say, we did not answer because we fully understand the importance of wearing masks to protect against COVID-19. Ironically, there were two other employees waiting for the young man on the sidewalk; both wore their masks on their faces.

Guy claimed to be with SRP. They aren't. You guys with the positive reviews post again in 1 wasnt year. Why would I do business with someone who is dishonest? SRP needs to go after these clowns that are trying to use their good name to sell this solar companies products. If it is legit why do you need to ride the name/coattails of SRP? Joke! To the person that said they chose this option because of SRP's rising cost. SRP actually has lowered rates over the last few years. Sucker! .... That's why you have SRP logo at the top center of the page you show when soliciting in SRP blue. It wasn't your logo. My 16 year old son recorded the whole thing. Witnessed it to. The exact question was "So your with SRP"? The exact answer was Yes. Wasnt a miscommunication. Was a miss representation.

We are just at the beginning of our project. So far, in this world of Covid, we have experienced super friendly people. From the first person who came to my door, to the rep that talked to us about solar power, and then the gentlemen who came to do the initial survey. All were very friendly and had all the answers to my questions. Looking forward to the install!

Our sales person KArl was awesome.  Very upfront about costs, very informative and honest designing our system.  It has performed pretty much exactly as we had discussed it would.

the bad review is for the technicians and customer service.  Alex was the tech that did our thermostat and inside work.  He was nice enough.  He could not figure out why my AC would not blow.  It was only blowing heat.  After a couple of hours and several trips into my attic he did something with the wiring and it worked.  Fast forward......it has been chilly this winter and we have an infant grand daughter.  So for the first time we went to turn on the heat......there was none.  We tried to get ahold of NERD Power and could not.  they never responded, called, emailed, snail mail, smoke signals, nothing.  So I called out another service.  Immediately they found the thermostat NERD installed was installed incorrectly.  We have no gas in the house, the white wire was installed in the spot for gas.  Yet we still had no heat upon that change.  After a little bit of trouble shooting the tech had found NERD jimmy rigged the unit in the attic with a jumper wire which made it blow AC any time the motor was turned on.  Took out that wire, moved the wire in thermostat to where it should be, and everything worked perfect.   The techs at NERD power do not know what they are doing.

The tech that installed the outside box installed it incorrectly and it would not power up the system.  I had to call my sales rep, Karl, to get this resolved as the Customer Service at NERD Power is non existent.    We did attempt 4 times to get ahold of NERD for the heat issue.  1 emails, 2 phone calls, and tried to reach Karl.  Nothing worked.

So to summarize the solar and functionality have worked well once up and running.  The technicians need better training and the jimmy rigged my wiring to make AC work.   Their customer service is non existent and really need improvement.  Without customer service a business really has nothing.

Really, really happy with Brendan and the team at NERD Power. We shopped around a handful of solar companies, but they stuck out as the right fit for us. Brendan was with us the entire process, keeping us informed and answering any questions we had along the way. Also, since they do energy efficiency, and not simply solar, he was super informative about other ways we could save money and help the environment. Install took just about 1 day, and the workers didn't leave a mess behind. The panels look clean and streamlined, and the equipment/inverter does, too. Highly recommended!

Notice how all reviews are giving you detail to the period. It's because most reviews are written by their own employees. The rep that came to my house certainly rubbed me the wrong way. They will push "go solar" down your throat. No thanks

My family and I just moved to Mesa from California. We were unloading some of our belongings while a rep came and introduced himself. At first I didn't mind because I thought they were one of the neighbors but then they mentioned solar. My husband and I are thinking about getting solar but the timing wasn't good. All I wanted was to unpack and relax but this salesman was very pushy even though I told him I'm not interested at the time. He kept asking me questions about the house and myself making it seem like he can relate. At this point my husband just walked inside and the sales rep tried to walk inside OUR house uninvited! Very unprofessional. Train and groom your sales people better. I could smell the body odor. Will not be getting solar from Nerd. Not to mention my child was very creeped out by this man. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Brenden was very professional and knowledgeable when it came to getting me started on my Solar journey. After 8 months of completing the project. He still keeps in touch with me to see how everything is going. And has answered any questions I've had after the system was already running. I definitely recommend NERD and Brenden!

I interviewed 3 different companies. N.E.R.D. Power was the 3rd and final company I interviewed. N.E.R.D. Power is the only company that does a full assessment of my home. Top to bottom! They check and fix the duct work, check and upgrade the circuit breaker box, check soundness of roof, install 15 inches of insulation and there's so much more. They do not put a lein on your house! Good credit gets you NERD POWER. My contact guy, Taylor Nelson, 801-673-0196. He is factual, no pressure, and will not up-sale. I checked reviews on line and also asked for reviews from my "nextdoor" neighborhood. NERD POWER is the only option.

We started working with NERD Power, prior to the Covid 19 shutdown. Even though various entities were closing their doors, NERD Power continued contact with us, worked with us to make sure everything was installed properly, and on time, and kept us in the loop when SRP timelines were extra long.  Now that it is up and running, I couldn't be happier with what I received.  I am able to see, second by second, how much power my system is producing, where it is being used and my daily savings. Would HIGHLY recommend anyone thinking about going solar, to reach out to the NERDS!

Review #1 (B+)
I live in Hutto TX.  I was interested in Solar Power Panels and started to get quotes from several companies. Prices varied from company to company but I went with Nerd Power because they were the only company that offered energy reduction followed by installation of solar panels which I liked, I also liked the sales person Jonathan Whitman who did a great job with the proposal. One of the items on the Nerd partner program checklist is to be responsive and flexible. This is a must (at least for me). I have had issues, some I thought should have been easy to fix but they took awhile. I had to call and email many times to get them fixed or answers. Again Jonathon Whitman has been great eventually
getting me answers to the questions I asked. Still waiting on a couple items, hopefully they get resolved as he has informed me. As far as the energy reduction Nerd Power estimated around 4770kwh a month. Now knowing what energy upgrades they are doing and researching more about them, I don't see it getting there, but time will tell and I will post an update after all done (hopefully a good one) I believe they make a good profit in this area based on my research of the cost to do what they did
on my own compared to what they charge for it. And that's fine as long as the actual energy reduction is close to what they estimate. The project manager and workers doing the upgrades have been doing a good job. As far as the solar panels, they are getting installed next week. They are lower efficiency panels then other quotes I got. Researching the panels I found out they are considered a very good panel. So I guess
not being an excellent panel does allow for the cost to me to be lower. And again the sale person did a great job explaining the differences to me and according to him not a big difference. My estimated energy offset was 98.9%. Only time will tell if their estimate was close. I know its all an estimate but I believe if that's what you tell me, which convinced me to buy, it better be close. So eventually I will provide another update with my actual offset. (and again hopefully a good one)

This is the most unreliable company I have ever dealt with it took several months longer than they said it would take for my install. it took even more months for the inspection. They missed the date they quoted by 7 months. my husband noticed a tile broke & once inspected they found 35 tiles were broke & we have been waiting for months to be replaced. The company inspected my roof before they started and my roof was in great shape I've only lived in this home three years and it passed inspection. I know my roof was in great shape these people destroyed my roof and they don't seem to care. There are companies out there who can install solar for a cheaper price but a much more reliable service I have neighbors who solar panels were installed after me and they only waited a few months from beginning to end I've been waiting over a year and I still am not finished with this company. If they knock on your door run as fast as you can to not let them in to not listen to the lies. This company cannot be trusted to do a good job to do a honest job and to do a reliable job. solar panels are the way to go but never go with the company NEED power. No one is perfect but they are not even trying to fix the problem.

Nerd Power does not care for their customers. I had solar panels installed in May. On July 21st my solar panels were shut off due to a bad inverter. I was not informed that I had to monitor my solar constantly to make sure they are working. Now I have to pay for the solar and 400 for my electric bill. I went to their office to try and receive restitution for the energy bill and was told that I am lucky they dont charge me to have the part replaced. I was told that roughly 10 in about 2000 of their customers have had this problem. After reading other reviews I am pretty sure that number is higher. It is unfortunate they dont take care of their customers and fess up to their problems with their system. My humble advice is to go somewhere else for solar. There is a possibility you won't have any problems and everything will work fine, but I would not take the chance because if you do have a problem like I did, they will tell you it's your fault and your on your own. I dont often leave reviews but I cannot keep my mouth shut on how this company operates. Dont take a chance on this company.

So I did a contract with Nerd Power in mid August with a salesman (Derrick) that to me was pushy but he used the excuse that everything was changing and we had to jump on it to get the most benefits from signing right away. If I had known it was going to take 6 months to complete the install and get us up and running I would have opted out at the beginning. The salesman made statements that were incorrect as I found by discussing the statements with the owner, he clarified the misleading info to me as we got close to the end of the year when everything was to change involving solar.

As the process went on and on there was excuse after excuse as to why things were moving so slow, blaming the city on turndown after turndown on permits.

Really got pissed when everything got installed and waiting for an installer to put in the transmitter to communicate with the company showed up with new equipment and says "oh this isn't compatible with the old system". So he basically told me that I got the last of the old equipment in my install.

At the end of it all when it finally got turned on last day of March, I like the system, I like the performance but I would not recommend Nerd Power, there are several out there, take your time.

I decided to go with this company because I liked their approach of reducing demand, which means a smaller system could be built. This involved switching to all-LED light bulbs and duct sealing. They also offer a demand management system.

Re the duct sealing, this was "very well done," according to the guy who cleaned my ducts.

I found them to be professional and easy to work with. They did all the paperwork with APS, showed up when they said they would, and answered questions. After installation, the sales rep provided assistance with the APS rate change. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I blame my wife!  I blame her for letting NERD Power into our house, I blame her for making me sit and listen to what NERD Power is all about, and I blame her for me ultimately changing my mind and LOVING this company!  From beginning to the end of this process, it was the easiest, most comprehensive thing ever.  NERD Power really makes sure you are informed not only about their energy-saving processes and products but about what is happening throughout the entire process of installation etc.  After our initial meeting, I did my homework and investigated them (and other solar providers) and came up with the same conclusion; NERD Power is the way to go.  I read the negative reviews, but I must say that our experience with them was in no way the same. I DO know that they seem to be constantly updating their training and processes to make their business smoother to deal with on all fronts.  EVERYONE we dealt with was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and, if I may say so, COOL!  This is a company with a sense of humor as well.  They have a "Frasier" to everyone else's "Gilligan's Island" sort of sense of humor.  From their number choices you get when you call in, to the texts from Darwin, their "AI" contact who helps keep you informed, our experience with NERD Power has not only been smooth, but FUN as well.  Everything has gone according to schedule for us and I can't wait to see what kind of numbers we get when producing power from our new solar system!  Thanks to the NERDs and to my wife for taking the blame!

After a bunch of consideration as to which home improvement project to tackle in 2020, we decided on working with NERD power to put solar on our house.  The entire process has been extremely smooth and our rep, Reed Peru has been transparent and trustworthy throughout the entire process.  Now, we are just waiting for SRP and Voila.... we will be utilizing an abundant resource to help power our home and lives.

I love working at this company. I have worked for a national company before and I can tell you the biggest difference is integrity and honesty. We do what's right for homeowners and properly educate them as well. Our platform is unique and we completely understand where the solar and utility markets are heading. We will be around for years to come because of this and will be a household name in the not so distant future. How we are approaching solar is exactly how it needs to be done. You will not be disappointed.

The entire NERD team, especially Brendan, were fantastic throughout the entire process.  From design to financing to installation we were well taken care of.  Even after the project was done they were super helpful with all questions we had.  We absolutely love our decision to go solar and even happier to go solar with NERD.  Today, everyone needs to go solar and these are the guys to make that happen.

Although the time between first contact and system switch on was over six months, part of that was due to the pandemic, and the company did their best to overcome the hurdles in a timely manner. The Trico inspection found an issue, but it was quickly fixed. The panels are non-intrusive, and my electric bills have reduced. SmartVision monitoring of my usage and generation is invaluable. Their loan partner was instrumental in helping me decide that a refinance would be better financially than a loan, and I ended up with a reduced mortgage payment and the solar panels paid for in full. All the technicians were friendly and honest. Contact throughout the installation process was spotty, with my text messages usually not returned. However, the queries I made were quickly resolved (even if unacknowledged!) In a more "normal" year, I'm sure the process would have gone much more smoothly. The most negative thing is that the two referrals I've submitted since installation have not been responded to, so I have two friends that are already disappointed even before first contact.

Worst experience I have ever had. I didn't like the way the sales rep presented themselves. I don't care if they're "local", they have the most unprofessional and unintelligent group of people working for them. Said "it's a no brainer" about 20 times. Just about irritated me...the fact that they rang my door bell 3 times and knocked on my door as if they were going to break my door down. Then, once I opened the door the rep was already in my personal space in my face trying to sell me solar after I already told them I'm going with another company and not interested in their services. He didn't care about what I said, still continued to sell me. I will tell everyone I know not to go through with this company. Plain and simple.

N.E.R.D power is different by design. They focus on energy efficiency before solar. It doesn't make sense for every home to go solar but it makes sense for every home to be energy efficient. It's a more holistic approach towards energy reduction. If you want solar done the right way, go with The NERDS!

Buyer beware! I bought one of their solar systems. They presented a pretty convincing bill of goods telling me how much money I would save on my power bill however they undersize the system so that they can keep the price down to make it appealing. Then they kept contacting me during a time when they had a delay the final installation asking me to sign the document saying that the installation was complete which I mistakenly did. Then they sign you up with Dividend mortgage which gives you a simple interest loan which means that you will pay interest only for the first 16 months. Now I have to go back to dividend to change the terms of the loan so I can actually pay on the system. Not a good deal!

Great company.  Great employees.  Doing what is right for the customer is the top priority.  Reducing consumption through efficiency is WAY less expensive than buying more solar panels.  The right blend of both is the way to go!

What a great company! We met our sales rep, Dallas Howell, in our neighborhood and when we asked what he did for a living, he told us where he worked. My husband has been wanting solar for a long time so when Dallas said he could do an analysis of our home, we were game. Dallas is extremely knowledgeable about his company and we just love him! He provided us with all the information and we were sold. The installation team was absolutely wonderful... on time, professionals and knowledgeable as well. Aaron, the project manager was able to be on site for the installation and he has got to be the most valuable player at that company. We received a new electrical panel, LED bulbs for the entire house, and they will be sealing all the ducts as well as putting in new ducts in the attic along with an attic fan! Nicole in the office is right on time as well providing emails with a status along the way. If you are going to get solar, go with NERD Power! You won't be sorry. My neighbors are all asking what we are doing and who we are using and we tell them, call Dallas!!!!!
