Mr Rooter Plumbing - Phoenix

I found Mr. Rooter online while searching for a solution to my Master Bathroom drain issues.  The drain was emitting a sulphur smell and I called a couple plumbers in the area that had no idea why this could be happening and never heard of this issue before.  On top of that, all of them charged a per hour service fee for coming out to diagnose the issue, some even had a minimum of 2 hours to come out.   After searching online, I found Mr. Rooter that sited this issue on their website (sulphur smell coming from shower drain) as well as providing a free estimate to come check it out, this was a no-brainer for me.  I immediately called and set up an appt.  

Eferin came out, prompt and on time with a call 30 min before his ETA.  He offered several options, starting first the most inexpensive solution to try, and moving forward with more expensive options if that didn't work.  (I am still trying the 1st option).

On his way out, I mentioned that I was having some issues with our water pressure and wanted to test our water softener hardness.  He immediately called his colleague Joe Bonomo who came right over and walked us through all the plumbing, a/c, heating, electrical maintenance for our entire house!   Because of him we changed our AC filters, realized our water pressure was low, was told to paint our exposed piping and to how to care for our water softener, on top of that, he test our water and it tested above board.  

Honestly I have never received this kind of service and thoroughness for something that wasn't even planned and at no charge!  Joe then called and texted us to follow up on how to proceed with some of our minor maintenance issues we encountered while going through the house.  He again followed up the next week - which was fortuitous b/c I was just about to call them again to have our water pressure valved replaced.  

Again appt set up and technician arrival was right on time.  This time Daniel efficiently and quickly replaced our water pressure valve.  

From end to end Mr. Rooter is a full service company; from prompt arrival, to professional service, to courteous follow up.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to get dependable service, fair pricing, and amazing customer service!

We hired them for some drain work. They caused thousands of dollars of damage to our home and refuse to pay for it. We will soon be in a lawsuit to make it right. STAY AWAY from them at all costs!!!

Hey just FYI, I was driving behind one of your vans on the highway and grey water or septic was spraying out everywhere. Super disgusting!

Mr Rooter is very unprofessional and very high in pricing. And I would get another estimate before I would use them.

I have used several different plumbing companies over the 27 years I have been in Phoenix, and admittedly some seem better at certain things than other, mostly in cost of repairs.  One company has stood out as being very reliable, turning out quality work, and being priced at a lower dollar amount for repairs than all others I have used.  Admittedly, they give a healthy discount for veterans and first responders, but even without the discount, comparables to other plumbing companies still show a lower price from Mr. Rooter.  
Most recently I had a new water service line from the meter to the house installed.  Their price beat out two other competitors, did the work on time and gave a 10 year warranty on this service.  The technicina/plumber was named Parker, and he did a fine job bidding the job price, understanding I might want to compare prices, and offered to stand ready to contact Blue Stake and begin project should I decide to use Mr Rooter.  In finishing the job, Parker took photos along the way to show me that what he was doing was what he quoted.  Cleaned up the area and left it like he found it.  Excellent company to seriously consider when you have plumbing needs.

Salesman approach over sold on 16895.00, when simply pumping out the tank would have fixed the problem. Charge my 4000.00 more on another card . And now claims they don't have the money even when I provided a bank statement showing their charge. The lousy receptionist has no clue and can't get me to their billing dept. Had to file a complaint with the better Business bureau that is not still pending.  Go with another company these guys don't know simple accounting much less anything else.

Our inspector, Larry referred us to Mr. Rooter; Donny specifically, to perform a pipe scope on the new home that we're in the process of purchasing. I can see why! Donny came to the house on Saturday to do the pipe scope {last part of the inspection, yay!}. He was extremely friendly and jumped out of his truck with a big smile on his face. I had a great feeling about him immediately! The most important thing that he said before we got started was that he is 100% honest and will make sure that there are NO surprises when purchasing this home. He also stated how much he trusted and respected Larry {our inspector} which as a first time home buyer, is SO nice to hear!

The scope took about 20 minutes total and we got the a-ok from him! WHOO! There is still slight backup in the bathrooms but we're thinking it is construction debris or hair, nothing that a snake won't fix! I'm so glad that we had him out, just to confirm that there wasn't anything major going on with our plumbing. Being an old {updated} Arcadia home, you never know! I will absolutely call Donny for any of our future plumbing needs that we have! Not only does he know his stuff, he is fun to have around!

Mr. Rooter came out to clear a couple problem spots, one in our master shower and one in the main line. We'd had some root issues before that we'd been able to manage with a hand held rooter but couldn't make progress on this occasion. They did the bare minimum to get the water draining and recommended we have it scoped to see what the problem was. From there they recommended over $8,000 in repairs that involved digging enormous holes in both our bathrooms and the front of our house. They were wanting to start the work immediately which I found to be absurd. We questioned the necessity of the front line repair to which they immediately backpedaled and said it could probably be managed with a hydroflush and root killer.

We decided to get a 2nd opinion from a smaller plumbing operation and he managed to diagnose the problem as only in ONE bathroom + the main line and (weeks later) seems to have fully cleared them both with his rooter blade and some actual elbow grease (spending more than 2 minutes on the spot). Obviously the problem could return but I'd much rather roll the dice spending $250 and doing regular boiling salt water / root killer treatments than destroy my house to the tune of 8 grand. I'm sure these guys are fine for small issues that arise outside of normal business hours (although expensive) but I would take any large-issue diagnoses they offer with a grain of salt.

Wore a mask and respected COVID and myself. Quality of work, great.

My concerns are quoting a scope of work and instilling fear into me to not complete the job myself. Stated all the potential downsides, to as far as burning the entire house down. Scope of the project consisted of jackhammering into the house to clear space, installing a flame barrier protector, installing an entirely new pipe, etc.

Then he came out, cut the pipe with a saw and put a spigot on it. Final bill, the exact same as the quote of completing all the other actions quoted in the repair. I am still not understanding how or why Mr Rooter quotes for the worst then completes a much easier job than quoted, but keeps the charge the exact same. I will be bringing out another plumber to get a 2nd opinion on how much this repair should have cost. Customer service reached out next day after leaving a poor review to help work through it, but no resolution except a $50 coupon for the next time I use them.

Consumers beware of price gauging and ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion before agreeing to the scope of work and quote. Lesson learned.

Had a large laundry room drain job and Mr. Rooter accomplished it in several days with GREAT service and professionalism.  Efrain Z. is excellent and was in charge on my job.  I will continue to use Mr. Rooter for the foreseeable future.

Staff arrives to clear the sewer line at my facility. I m told the issue needs a jet and camera $1200. Then they send a $ 10,000 quote to permanently fix the problem. Called another guy, this is an easy fix $900 later all is well 7 months later no issues.

Left a 5 star review recently for their employee's gentle manner with my senior mother and overall in-person customer service. Whereas that employee deserves a good rating, I am not so sure about their office as a whole. The repairs were done last Wednesday and now it is Tuesday no one in our family or household has received a receipt or written records of the repairs performed. We need this paperwork for our records and for home insurance claims and should not have to beg. I'm disappointed that such a positive experience has been tainted by a simple lack of organization in their office. A receipt and repair log should be an automatic thing.

Super happy with how my kitchen sink turned out ! Efrain Z was super fast, friendly and did a great job fixing my sink. I called and got Efrain out to me within an hour. Totally recommend this company!

Very pleased with Mr. Rooter's service!! Effrain provided above and beyond service. He showed excellent skills and showed a genuine interest in resolving problems and then took the time necessary to do it right!

Called them to unplug one of our toilets.  They quoted $370 to removed toilet and remove clog or $207 just to run snake line to remove clog.  I was temped to say no and find someone else that could do it cheaper but was in a bind since i was leaving town.  I opted for the snake line to unclog toilet.  It took him all of 5 minutes to unplug it.
Let me first say, the tech was nice, professional and certainly didn't push anything on me but $207 for 5 minutes to unplug a toilet seems a bit steep.  I know there are other companies out there that will charge less than that for a simple toilet clog.  Lesson learned... Won't use them again.

Had a major problem that mr Rooter addressed quickly and the tech was great.My complaint, after talking to some knowledgeable people in the plumbing industry without telling them who did the job and what they charged I was overcharged by at least 2500.00.No way to justify that.

Avoid. Nightmare. Charged me $330 to put a $5 cap on a galvanized line that was leaking and the tech even said I took $100 off when he presented me with the bill. If that repair had worked I wouldn't even be writing this review. But, it didn't. And when it still leaked and I called for them to come back out, they said it was going to be another $300 at least to repair the pipe. Come on. I get that it's galvanized, and it's old and shitty pipe, but when Sunland Plumbing comes out, looks at the EXACT SAME SITUATION, and has the knowhow to cap the line in a better spot IN 15MIN and ONLY CHARGES ME $131... something is wrong. And it's how these people are choosing to do business: They KNOW that you are in the vulnerable position of needing your pipes fixed asap so that you can go back to living your life (maybe you're even in the middle of a pandemic with a wife and three kids to feed) but, they are still going to take advantage and gouge you. Sunland wants repeat business, (and they now have mine). Mr Rooter is in this trade to take advantage of homeowners who find themselves at their mercy, and, as long as Metro Phx grows, unfortunately, they will be fine.

Update on review,
I spoke with Mark and he came out to see the installation of the water heater and took pictures. He told me that Joe and another person would be out to correct the installation. Parker came out with Joe to follow and started the work to correct the water heater, the connections look better it was totally redone and the area was cleaned when they were done. Parker is very meticulous. I was told by Mark I would be reimbursed but it hasn't happened, so after 14 hrs over 3 days I have hot water!

I cannot say enough fantastic things about this company. After many years of akin iaues and health issues we got help from Mr. Pentico. What a knowledgeable honest guy!  First we got an under sink RO system to clean our water.  That made an instant impact on our overall health.  Then we got a tankless on demand water heater

If you think you have morgellons or Lyme or any of that type of issue....I am saying look at your water!  Look at your temp on your water heater. Look at those nasty pipes.  This company made sure we got the best product for our needs.  OUR NEEDS! So so happy to have found a great representative of this trade!

I have used this company for years. Si I trusted 100%. Big mistake.  I called late one night due to a backed up kitchen sink. Phone was answered quickly.  Plumber called explained there were 4 calls ahead but turns out came hours earlier than expected. Great so far.  Plumber came and took pipe from under stick to snake could not clear.  So went to roof to try to snake still did not work. Did not charge was told supervisor would come next day. He came could not get it unclogged.  Called another supervisor to run camera was told cast iron pipes were full of rust and gave options from $800 to $1800. No guarantee to work but were trying solutions could afford. After 2nd supervisor called a 3rd one with my situation of not being able to pay these prices I was asked what I could pay and $500 was agreed on. After thinking about it and before signing anything I said let me think about it and was told to not use kitchen sink until I had repairs done. Decided to get 2nd opinion and was told the clog was gone and I did not need any repairs at this time. No charge. Long story short I feel they were trying to RIP me off with these repairs I did not need. There prices were double of another well know plumming company. I will never use them again. But they  did not charge anything since they did not clear line. So I guess they might say that the line cleared its self from sitting until next plumber came but I feel they were trying to take advantage of a disabled widow .  So I would not recommend them to anyone.

New refrigerator was being delivered. Pulled the old one out and tried to disconnect from the valve at the wall. It was so corroded it had to be replaced promptly. Mr. Rooter arrived within the hour and replaced the valve just before the frig arrived!  Thanks a million!

They were terrific. Arrived early, solved the issue and were totally prepared for Covid protection.  Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

This company and its sister companies (Mr. Sparky and others) are a rip off. Way overpriced and the techs try to sell you things you don't need. They wanted me to replace a faucet that was only five years old because they said they couldn't fix the leak in the hose in the pull out part of the faucet and charge me over $200 just to install the faucet. I cancelled the appointment and I was able to fix it for $5. And 15 minutes work. The technician also tried to sell me a new tank for a reverse osmosis for $200 plus installation fees. I called the company directly and got the tank for $50. Took me about 5 minutes to put it in.

I had called mr. Sparky and Mr Rooter in the past for some new Construction. They were two to four times more than any of the other bids I received.  

Will never do business with either of them.

We've (unfortunately) had to involve Mr. Rooter in our lives a few times over the past several years, both as renters and now as homeowners. Customer service and timeliness of service provision has always been top notch in all our experiences. This time, when we were the ones footing the bill instead of the landlord, I felt I could give a complete review.

Our plumbing issue needed attention on New Year's Day, which was a holiday. I called around noon and we had a plumber out by 5 pm. He immediately assessed our problem, which required mitigation specialist involvement (water damage that required dryout, demo, cutting into the wall). Our plumber, Keith, called the mitigation specialist and had him at the house within an hour. Keith made sure to explain everything in detail, was happy to answer questions, and made sure we understood what our homeowner's insurance would cover as a result of the damage.

After the dryout and demo was complete, the office staff at Mr. Rooter followed up with us and got us scheduled in a timely manner for the plumbing repair. Keith was back out on the promised day within the promised window, and repaired our plumbing issue that same day. He cleaned up the debris, threw it away, and cleaned up after himself as if he were never there. Keith explained the work performed, reviewed the bill with me before I paid, and made sure I had copies of everything.

Every part of our job from start to finish was A+! Plumbing emergencies are such a nightmare but we felt that all our interactions with Mr. Rooter were honest and professional.

Jill answered . Terrible attitude. Made a booking last week for today between 9-11 and they were a no show. She blamed me and said they tried to call and schedule earlier. I called back 5 minutes later and said keep the schedule for 9-11.

Why is this my fault when I had them on the schedule from 9-11? Don't bother with them. Unprofessional. Wasted my time.

My tenant called with water running down the driveway from the hot water heater bursting.  I called Mr Rooter, and within 30 min they were at the house, and 4 hours later I had a new hot water heater.  No time wasted or spared.  My tenant was happy and so am I!

On Sunday evening, I put way too much pasta down my garbage disposal and after attempting to fix the issue myself, I realized that was not a smart solution. I went online and booked an appointment late in the evening. They had me scheduled the NEXT day! I received a phone call confirming my appointment and within 30 minutes, I had Daniel Devon come to my rescue. Daniel was not only extremely professional, patient and kind. He even ensure my kitchen was clean before he left. I could tell within minutes he was an expert in his field. He also checked the rest of my values in the home for free to ensure everything was working properly. For all your plumbing needs, this is the company you need to contact!!!!!! Very detailed, kept me updated on what was being checked and found when I had a leak in the kitchen. Even checked some things that weren't related to my leak and helped me out a lot! I feel Ken went above what was expected!

Fast forward from 4 years ago and a very happy review..now I needed our RO system changed and so I called MR ROOTER 602-874 0073  and once again got a plumber (Ken) who showed up on time, wearing all the appropriate gear for this COVID 19 situation.  The RO system was replaced..he also did my water heater flush..NO MESS NO FUSS..no big deal about any maintenance  agreement (I  have one) .  I am all in on Mr Rooter

Devon came out to check out a plumbing issue we had. Man of integrity , just straight up on honest with me and .Showed genuine compassion for our situation and was eager to find a solution to our issues. If this is how you do business I will definitely refer everyone to MRROOTERS

Called Mr. Rooter, my entire house was backed up! Scary thing right? Not with Preston and Louie coming out to save my day. Showed me on the camera and educated me on the step by step process what it would take for me to not go through this again for a while. Price was very reasonable specially after talking to my neighbors, they payed almost double for the same clean out install! I'm so glad I have reliable guys to turn to now. They are amazing and helped me bring my groceries in. All around 10 stars!  I'm beyond satisfied

Excellent Customer service all the way around again. Devon arrived and was AwsomeThis is the 2nd time we have used them and once again they are Awsome.

We didn't have Mr. Rooter come out, but we called close to midnight for a rapidly and constantly overflowing toilet that was flooding our home. A woman answered quickly and nicely told us she would send someone out to help us.

Sean/Shawn (not sure of the spelling) called us and talked us through the issue. He gave us options of having him come out ASAP or scheduling someone to come out in the morning when it was more convenient for us. He was courteous and very helpful. We'll definitely call Mr. Rooter for any future issues.

We are disappointed with Mr Rooter.   Mr Rooter spent 2 1/2 hrs. trying to clear a blockage in our house.  Down the shower drain . . up on the roof . . .  They finally told us we needed to dig up the yard . . cut out the blocked pipe . . and replace it . . to the tune of $3,200.  We Declined.  We paid them $314.00 for they time . . with no results.

We called Service Lines of America . . which we pay for annually  . . found out we should have called them FIRST!.  A plumber was at our house 2 hrs later . . after less than 1/2 hr had cleared the blockage.  No CHARGE  . . included in our $76.00 per year fee.

WE LOVE SERVICE LINES OF AMERICA!   Highly recommend SERVICE LINES OF AMERICA!!!

My washer flooded my kitchen this morning.  I called Mr Rooter and they were able to come right away.  Jesse was very professional and very helpful.  He fixed our problem, and then contacted Copperstate Restoration.  Their pricing was reasonable; plumbing is never cheap.

I had an emergency and someone came out to our house within an hour.   He was able to fix it quickly and was very friendly.

The technician was at my house within an hour of calling. The technician and all the team were very friendly and polite. They treated my plumbing issue as the emergency it was and made all efforts to get the job done ASAP. When the technician provided me the estimate he explained in detail of what they were suggesting, options and what was causing my plumbing issue. The technician was able answer all of my several questions and provide recommendations. The professional customer services I was receiving gave me the confidence to contract Mr. Rooter and I am very satisfied with my decision.
