Tree Trimming Experience:
Montoya's team was very responsive both times I've requested quote from them. Even though I did not end up using them the first time, they were very courteous and quickly provided a quote both times. The second time I requested a quote we decided to work with Montoya's Landscaping.
They did an amazing job cutting down the dates and trimming the hanging branches and the protruding stems from old branches. They did a wonderful job cleaning up, taking away all branches and removed practically all the fallen dates. We've had situations where the clean up was not up to par. They were also true to their quote and were very timely arriving at the scheduled time!

Hired them to fix the flower bed wall across the front of the house and clean it out, as well as repair a block wall on the side of the house. They did a terrific job. The revamped flower bed goes a long way to making the front of our house look so much nicer. They were friendly and pleasant to work with. I have more work for them coming up, and I will definitely be calling on them again. AND...my wife is SUPER happy with the results, so what more can I say about that? Happy wife, happy life!! We had to dig up our front yard after our Palo Verde grew into our sewer line and we had to replace it. We hired Montoya's landscaping for a front yard remodel, paver reconstruction, and irrigation repair. Raul and his team are honest and hardworking. They definitely make sure the customer is satisfied with the project throughout the renovation and before the work is completed. My advice to any prospective customer is to clearly communicate what you want done - otherwise they might guess. We worked around this issue just fine and Raul made sure we were happy with the work. I definitely recommend.

We had them out to trim the hedges and in the front lawn and back yard clean up all the weeds and trim up a few other trees and bushes. Overall they did a great job cleaning everything up and the front and back yard look great and for a good price as well. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
I had been working with Raul and his team for about 4 years now. They are always on time and do such a great job. Him and his team really know what they are doing. Dude gave us a 2-hour time window and never showed up for our scheduled consult. Waste of time.
Raul and crew showed up, replaced and tested new valve on our drip irrigation system and cleaned up spic & spam. Great job, good service and recommend as excellen.

We contacted Raul because of the high ratings on Yelp. We are so happy that we did. We wanted to add a row to our block wall. Raul and his crew worked fast and efficiently. They did a professional job, matched the existing paint, so the new blocks blend with the old ones perfectly. The took care in all aspects of the job and cleaned up everything. The yard looks like they were never here and the block wall looks like it has always been here.
I highly recommend Montoya Landscaping. They did an excellent job paving our backyard. My husband and I are very happy with how the project turned out. I love Montoya's Landscaping! They maintain my yards twice a month and complete special projects such as trimming trees and spreading rock. They do a wonderful job, are extremely consistent, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Mr. Montoya and his crew!
Set up a time that he provided and then decided he couldn't make it for the set aside, you get one chance with me. I let you set the time and date and then you cancel on me last minute? No that tells me you will excuses in the future,
I've sent him multiple messages asking for a quote over the last two months and never heard from the company. If you aren't going to respond then disable the ability on Yelp to request a quote!

The most impressive part about their service is that they cleaned up right after they were done each time. Raul and his crew CRUSHED IT. We had them do a yard clean up for us. They pulled weeds and sprayed so they wouldn't come back (and there were a lot after getting all kinds of rain) trimmed a palm tree for us, removed a few tall thin trees that were like weeds! Also mowed and trimmed plants in the back yard! We have a pool and they even cleaned it so it wasn't full of the debris! Cleared out some excess trash we had in our side yard ( big Amazon boxes that we couldn't fit in our recycle)! Raul is the owner and he was the one I was in contact with the whole time, responded very quickly through phone and text! Came early in the morning and were done 10:30am! They were amazing! Very fair price and take cash, check,or credit! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I messaged Raul to get a quote on my front yard, which had grown out of control. He was quick to respond, showed up on time, and gave us an estimate.
Raul and his team did a fantastic job! They were thorough and tidy. Would definitely recommend Raul if you want great service.

Raul and his crew recently helped transform my front yard into the talk of the neighborhood. They ripped out two overgrown trees and a walkway that was falling apart and were able to not only plant new trees and plants, but also install an amazing new paver walkway with custom lighting. Raul was extremely patient as I was awaiting all the HOA approvals and once we got the green light, he and his team were able to get us scheduled and completed in under 2 weeks. My wife and I could not be happier with the job these guys have done and are looking forward to having them back out to do the sides and backyard in the near future. We have had a dozen neighbors stop by and compliment their work and even a couple of neighbors that have already hired them to work on a project or two on their houses. Thank you again Raul.
Contacted Raul Montoya to get a bid for work to be done in my front yard and a complete backyard design and install at my new build home. I had an appointment for this afternoon to walk through the project and he didn't bother showing up or calling to cancel or reschedule. I know landscapers are busy right now but leaving people waiting on you and not having the courtesy to communicate with them is unacceptable.

My husband called Montoya's after our backyard went without trimming/clean up for probably about 3 years (our own fault of course). Raul responded promptly, and came to our house the next business day to provide a quote. We agreed with his quote and he and his team came the next day. It took them about 3.5 hours to clean up our mess (they even picked up our dog's poop - which I tipped them for), and they did a spectacular job. We know exactly who to reach out to in the future! Called to set up appointment. Said they would come next morning to evaluate job and would come the day after if estimate was approved. Did not show. Waited a few hours after set time. No call/ no show.
Raul and his team cleaned up my mess of a yard today. Arrived early, finished promptly, work was beautiful, and the price was great. Will be using Montoya's on a regular basis.

I've called Raul 2 or 3 times. He's very responsive, shows up when he schedules, and they do a really good job. The prices are reasonable as well. We'll call him.
Update- 4/24/20. We've called Raul a number of times since my last review. We know we can depend on him to show up, on time as promised, pricing is consistent and reasonable, the work is perfect, and they clean up before they leave! We highly recommend Raul Montoya!!!
Raul and his crew do such a great job. We had them trim our palms and mesquite trees, plus weeds. They are a great group of guys that are quick, efficient and reasonably priced.
We contacted this company because we had heard really good things about them. They responded timely and showed up when they said they would.....even early. They were very friendly. We went over with them everything we wanted. When they were leaving, they said they would get back to us with a quote within The next two days. It has been over a week and we have heard nothing from them. Crickets. We sent them a text message because that's how we had been communicating, and still absolutely nothing. Totally went dark.

Sent Raul a message on Monday, gave me an estimate on Wednesday, did an amazing job on my yard on Friday! Can't stress enough how happy I am with how my yard looks, thanks guys!!!
I was referred to Montoya's landscaping by a current client of theirs. I requested a quote for a lawn cleanup of leaves. I recently moved into a new house and did not have the time to remove leaves with all the unpacking. I specifically said if it was under $100 to go ahead and anything more to just leave a quote.
I come home to a yard half cleaned. The flower beds and ground cover were never touched. I expected a bill of $100 or less and was disappointed with the half-assed job done.
To my surprise a couple days later, I received a bill on my door for nearly 4 times the amount I was expecting it to be. -I was shocked and in disbelief. I explained the situation to their owner and he insisted I pay him more than the $100 I said was my max and this is on top of the fact he only did half of my yard. I compromised and agreed to double what I wanted to pay since he did do some of the work.
I would warn all homeowners to never use them and if you make the mistake, to make sure you have everything in writing. That still may not be enough as he will just show up and do a subpar job and charge you way more than you were told and then hound you for payment.
Unprofessional and unacceptable. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau.
I called Raul and his team late last week. They came out to look at my project like a day later and had the project completed by the end of the week. His team is efficient and does the job right. They pay attention to detail and do a beautiful job cleaning up when finished. Raul and his team are all so kind. They offer a fair price and were willing to negotiate to make it affordable for us. I would have them come back again any day! We love supporting family businesses!

If you're looking in yelp for a guy that does brick pavers here's your guy! Can't say enough good things about Raul and his crew. Did a fantastic job on the patio that we hired him for. Great guy that has an old fashioned work ethic that I respect. I will most definitely use him again.

We've been very happy with Montoya Landscaping. Raul is very responsible and reliable and has a lot of knowledge about plants and yard maintenance. He fixed our irrigation system and also lifted our turf when we needed to dig a gas line in the house and put it back on. We would recommend this company for landscaping.
When Raul showed up early for the free estimate on the landscaping I needed around my house, I had a feeling that dealing with him would be a good experience. He walked my property with me, and he made sure he understood exactly what I wanted done. He quoted me a very reasonable price for the work, and I was able to schedule the job for the next day. Raul and his co-worker showed up right on time and did an amazing job. Everything is exactly as I wanted it, and they even did a little extra - as others have posted in their reviews. I would not hesitate to call him in the future, and I most likely will, for any additional landscaping or irrigation work that I need done. In fact, I wouldn't even think of calling anyone else.

Raul was awesome!!! He was able to accommodate my schedule immediately. I tried to get a few other estimates and this was no easy task. Raul showed up on time and did an awesome job at trimming back trees, removal of unwanted plants/bushes, transplanted plants. He went above and beyond by doing things I didn't even ask him to do like mowed and edge my yard and filled holes that my dog made. I only wish I took before and after photos.... oh yea and very decently priced for the quality of work.

We had our tree and shrubs trimmed, and several ton of new rock put in. It looks very nice and for a reasonable price. We will definitely be calling and referring people to Montoya's Landscaping for any future landscaping.
Raul picked up my call on a Sunday and scheduled a bid for the next day. He was willing to go to both of my properties and gave me a specific time when he would be there. He was right in time and gave me a fair bid for both properties. Today he came for my first device. Again, he was there when he said he would be and he did a great job with mowing, trimming, blowing and rock clean up. I have been very pleased with my experience thus far. It is rare to find someone so PROMPT and RELIABLE. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Montoya's Landscaping.
I called Raul for a front and back yard makeover bid. His price was very reasonable for the amount of work I wanted done. We set the date for him to start the two day job. He showed up on time, worked hard, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. I would hire him again and I highly recommend him.

They arrived on time for both the estimate and the work. Their service couldn't be beat. For a fair price my yard front and back looks fabulous. I would recommend them highly. They had a good knowledge of pruning and shaping. Not just chop chop. Hauled all debris away. Worked quietly and efficiently. Will surely use Robert again.

Raul has never actually done work for me. I contacted him based on all the positive reviews I read on here. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on mowing grass, spraying a few weeds (literally as few), then maintaining the yard by coming back every 2 weeks.
To mow my grass, front and back, Raul quoted me $180.00 To say I was shocked would have been an understatement. The last landscaper I had moved out of State, hence why I needed a new one, and he charged me $110/month and mowed the grass once a week. The grass hadn't been cut in 3 weeks, so it's not to say I had a forest growing. I wanted to include pictures with my review to give a very clear idea of what Raul believed was $180.00 worth of work and worth $160/month to mow the grass twice a month.
Since Raul left last week, I received 2 other quotes. The final price I paid to mow my grass (front and back) was less than $100.00 and the monthly cost for once a week mowing is also $100/month. Raul, I have no trees, no shrubs nothing for you to cut other than grass and yet for less than an hours worth of work, you believed this was worth $180 of your time? A yard the size of a small putting green in front and back.
Sorry Raul, I disagree with your pricing. I think you came to my home and made a lot of assumptions, including that I would pay something so astronomical to mow grass. The price Raul wanted to charge was nothing less than gouging.
Raul is very reasonable in his price and works extremely hard with awesome results! Todd and I highly recommend Raul. He did pavers and artificial grass for us. We will be hiring Raul again for more work. He has great work ethic and again does magnificent work.
Raul came to my elderly mother's house in Mesa to replace her drip irrigation system, remove and replace her front yard plants and add new decomposed granite. He finished the work ahead of time and eased her anxiety about the whole process (she's very fussy). Cleanup was very thorough. Overall he did a great job and I would highly recommend him.

Raul Montoya with Montoya's Landscaping LLC is nothing short of amazing. He turned our dismal dirt backyard into a beautiful grass-filled oasis! Raul leveled our entire backyard, laid sod as well as chose and laid brick to surround our orange tree and seperate our garden. He also installed our entire irrigation system with ease! My boyfriend and I are so excited to be able to entertain in our new and MUCH improved backyard! Thanks Montoya Landscaping!
Very satisfied with the results of my front and backyard. I needed trees trimmed and shaped as well as general yard clean up at a new house. I wish I would have done a before and after picture because the results were wonderful. Great company and crew.
Had Raul come out to quote on biweekly yard maintenance which included the usual spraying of weeds, general tidy up of garden beds, etc. NO lawns need mowing. Ok, so we live on 1.25 acres but the garden is contained to a very manageable area at the back of our house. The most that would need doing out front is spraying of weeds when needed. It's all desert scape so no other maintenance is really needed out front. Wait for it ... drumroll ... $280 biweekly or $560 monthly!!! Looks like we'll be spraying our own weeds.
While in Mesa Arizona I called Raul he said would arrive Tuesday at 7:00AM he arrived early an on time. The swimming pool waterfall back wall had come apart and several pieces of the California Stone had come lose and dropped off into the pool. Raul donned his swimming trunks and entered the pool to access repair area after getting acquainted with the four legged kids or dogs. I checked every other tile and they were all fine. Raul came and within the hour had removed all lose tiles and cleaned and grouted the problem area after which he applied the necessary mortar and replaced with exact matching California Stone which looks awesome and is even more robust and secure. I asked Raul if he would remove some unwanted items from the yard old hose, ladders, gates, air compressor, lawnmower & general trash which he did as well. I requested he trim a tree in the front yard the following week we agreed on a reasonable price and he arrived on time again. In the meantime I purchased 3 UV cool shade patio security blinds two 8' and one 6' before trimming tree he and he partner hung all three patio blinds perfectly. I am impressed with Raul's work ethic, and knowledge of various trades if you are searching for a honest, ethical talented handyman, lawn specialist please contact Raul Montoya.
Fast and quality work for a fair price! I called to get an estimate and he came out the same day to give me a quote and schedule for my yard to be done. They showed up exactly when they said and got my whole yard done in about an hour and it looked 100% better. I will definitely have them come back and would recommend them to anyone!

I contacted Mr. Montoya about a yard clean up, my yard was awful, huge weeds, & tumbleweeds . Mr. Montoya came looked at the yard gave me a really fair price, and we set up a time to clean the yard. The next day when I checked I was amazed at the amazing job he did, the yard was pristine, he even filled a huge hole the previous tenants dog had dug. Truly impressed with such great service !
I needed weed removal, pre-emergent spray to prevent regrowth, pruning of shrubs and a tree - I called Raul for an estimate and he scheduled a visit for the next day. Raul was on time and listened closely to my requests and explained what he could do. Discussed time schedule and cost, then scheduled start date. He was on time and started work immediately with a helper. Job was scheduled over two days - one afternoon and following morning. First day they completed all but spraying of yard which he performed on time the next morning. Their performance was beautiful - pruning and trimming was complete and the results were neat and made me very happy. So relieved to see everything look neat again! Raul has a wonderful smile, is professional and friendly. He works steadily, cleans up completely, is skilled at his work, and proud to do a good job.
