Contacted Mario because he had amazing reviews. Was trying to do something nice for my husband and get him a new key because the old one couldn't hook onto a key ring. Seemed incredibly knowledgeable on the service. He couldn't get his new key to turn over the engine, so I said "well I tried no biggie, I'll just use the old key." Then some how my original key didn't work now. He kept trying to turn over the engine with his key and my original key with no luck unfortunately. Asked him if could call over another locksmith and he responded with, "they are going to do the same thing I did". I was trying to keep the faith and not become stressed because I had 2 dogs in the vehicle and it's 98 plus degrees outside and had to pick up my daughter in the next hour. 1 hour turns to 2 hours. He must have tried to turnover the engine well over 20 times. He disconnects the battery, pulls the fuel pump off to get to the relay box, trying to diagnose the issue with the keys. which was never reattached by the way.He eventually called his buddy who also a locksmith and said he will be here in the next 25 minutes. He said I have to grab an extension for him real quick. So he left to grab that, another 30 minutes pass. Have to ask my husband to leave work early to pick up our daughter and now I am crying waiting for him and his buddy. My dog starts throwing up ALL over the interior of truck. My brother in law shows up with a jumper box jic. Mainly to console me because I'm over heated, sunburned, and my dogs are obviously suffering from heat exhaustion. Eventually they show up. They had to jump start my truck with our own cables. His locksmith fixed the problem in under 15 minutes, I was so thrilled. I thought he would offer a discount given the situation, but no. Full price, but I'm just like whatever no biggie, keys work at least . I get in the truck to drive away and noticeably aware that it's struggling to turn over like the battery is completely drained. Made it home. The next morning at 5:30 I hear my husband trying to get the truck to start. I come out and it finally started. He got out of work and called me said I'm gonna have to get a jump, truck won't start. I leave early for work to get him a jump. Starts up, he drives to autozone gets a new battery which was 219.00. Gets home notices the engine is smoking, pops the hood the alternator is trying to catch fire. Eventually the car doesn't even turn on, no lights nothing. Now I have to get a tow to a mechanic on an f250 super duty. This truck was at the shop and got serviced a week before , with NO problems at all. Honestly we have all the documents from the mechanic showing so. I informed him of the situation in hopes that we could come up with a solution because it obviously stemmed from the whole incident. He ghosted me. Below I will add our conversation because I am not lying. I know he or anyone would be upset if this happened to their wife or daughter. Just use a licensed locksmith so you are protected. Yes he has 5 stars and over 273 reviews, but be cautious because it happen to you as well.
