My slabs are absolutely perfect.  My property is unscathed and my experience was beyond flawless.  This is an incredible family business run by incredible people.  

Travis and Hector showed up and immediately laid tar paper and wood planks across my tile to prevent damage.  He brought his tractor in and out through a very tight squeeze and didn't even nick my air conditioner, with 1" of clearance, while hauling huge loads of concrete and dirt.  He was picking dirt clods out of my grass when he left.  Every single surface was spotless and they even rolled up my hose - EVERY evening.

Apart from the tremendous respect paid to every inch of my property, the slabs they poured are absolutely flawless.  I'm truly honored to have these incredible people do this work for me.

From the time he had given me a quote, he was always communicating and setting expectations. They showed up at 645 for 2 days and were done by 11.. His crew completed the cleaning as soon as they were done. Great experience and I would recommend him to anyone looking to do large or small projects.

This is an overdue review. They did an approximately 20 ft x 10 ft concrete patio pad for me last summer. Travis was very responsive after I initially reached out. He gave me a projected lead time that was accurate and I'm happy with the quality of the work itself. Would highly recommend and I am even considering another concrete project for my house and they would be my go-to again if I do decide to do it.

I reached out to Lumby concrete for an estimate on building a complicated patio (engineering issues, drainage issues, existing structure etc). I spoke with Travis, and he asked me to send some pictures ahead of time and some measurements so that he could at least give me some preliminary information before someone was able to come out and see it firsthand. This was very helpful, with everyone being so busy, that I could get some questions answered quickly without having to wait several weeks. All I can say is that if you are looking for someone to do concrete work, stop scrolling and just pick them rarely have I encountered a company with the level of integrity and helpfulness.  Without explaining all the my new details I'll just say that I would never call anyone else!

Travis, his dad, and his team showed up this morning exactly at the time we agreed, prepped my sunken living room, coordinated the pump and cement truck, and finished the job within a few hours.  They were very clean and cleaned up after the pump contractor and cement truck.   It was refreshing to work with a professional crew to get an outstanding product.  I am very satisfied.

Had a great experience working with Travis at Lumby Concrete. They were even apply to get our patio extension and walkway done before Christmas. IT WAS THE PERFECT ADDITION! Travis and his team were  so efficient and quick they were able to get it done and high quality strong concrete for our house. Excellent communication skills, willing to explain any part of the process, able to provide clear feedback and advice, show up on time, treat their clients' property with respect, and provide an amazing product/service.

I wanted to expand my back patio and connect that extension to my garage. Travis (and his father Mike) were able to meet me on site and walk me through the entire process. They were also more than happy to work with my request of having a designated area for a future succulent garden.

From the very beginning of this process, I was very impressed by Travis Lumby (owner) and his communication. He always got back to me very quick and kept me in the loop with everything. He was on site (and even did a lot of the work) every day during the actual construction and pour, and was very detailed in his work. The part I was most impressed by, was when he saw that I had young kids and asked if they wanted their hand prints in the concrete. They loved it. The final product turned out great and I am more than happy with the work.

We are in the process of doing some home remodeling and one of those projects is a new driveway and front porch. Travis and his Dad poured a concrete pad for our Endless Pool on June 20th, 2020.

Travis is meticulous!  I needed a pad poured for an Endless Pool and he did an AMAZING job.  He takes pride in what he does and stands behind his workmanship.  

He's a consummate professional.  He provided EXCELLENT communication, details, and advice.  Incredibly respectful of our property and his pricing is beyond fair.

After having such a wonderful experience with the concrete work I had Travis back in August and September to unload and spread approximately 11 tons of landscape rock.  I've never seen a man work harder than Travis when he unloaded and spread five and half tons of rock by himself.  In addition he pulled out a very large Mexican Bird of Paradise and a Bougainvillea.

Okay here is a few of the reason we chose Lumby Concrete. First they called us back. I don't know about you but that is a good sign because some companies won't call you, if your job is two small. Thankfully that was not the case with Lumby.

In fact my call back was with the owner Travis Lumby, and that to me is a bonus. I also appreciated that he was willing to work with me via text, message because I was able to send him photos of the work I wanted done. Okay that is my Second reason of why you should choose Lumby Concrete.

Our third reason we chose Lumby Concrete was because we all want to save money, have the best bid, and have the dream of what you want to become a reality. We wanted a path way put in at our new home from our patio to our side gate. We also wanted the color and texture to match what was currently in place. In Choosing Lumby Concrete we got all of that. Long version: I want to thank all the other Yelpers who have reviewed TM Lumby Concrete and all the great work they do. I reached out to Travis via Yelp and he was super-responsive. We were looking to add on a side driveway to help put an end to the 3-car shuffle now that our teenage daughter is driving. Travis came out a couple times to take measurements and make sure the work was spec'ed to my satisfaction. I had an estimate within a couple days. He helped draw up the plan that I could submit to the HOA as well (after I provided my deposit of course). We scheduled about 1.5 months in advance and Travis communicated the entire time with updates and other information.

When it came to actually doing the work, his entire crew were very courteous and professional. I appreciated that Travis would always set my expectations and then follow up accordingly - it's super important to me that a contractor set expectations and actually follow through. Rare to find these days.

We contact Lumby Concrete to help us with a sidewalk grading issue.  Our sidewalk was sloped towards the home and during our monsoon rains, water would seep up into the walls.  Travis came out and assessed our sidewalk, he immediately noticed the issue and a couple others we didn't notice.  

On April 28, 2020, Travis and his crew setup our site for the pour the following day.  They even worked around our AC company that had to remove the AC unit so the concrete could be replaced.  Lumby Concrete was professional, punctual and did an exceptional job on our new concrete and slight regrading.

We have had an amazing experience with them! Prior to working with them we had another company do our concrete, we had voids, cracked concrete everywhere, sloping away from our yard towards our fence and tons of other problems! They were super friendly and courteous. Came to our home gave us suggestions and then got us on the books. They book out super far, but for us that was comforting because we know they are highly sought after! It was well worth the wait. Travis, his dad Mike, and his crew are amazing. Last year, they extended our patio and we had them come back to pour a new garage floor. They completed the entire process, adhering to our plans. We passed the county's inspection on the first try. Definitely recommend this company!

My little driveway found a way to push itself up about an inch higher than my garage slab and as a result, rain water had no way to run off into the street but came into the garage instead. That was always fun. Today, Lumby Concrete removed my old driveway and poured a new one. They did a perfect job. Two enthusiastic thumbs up to Travis and Mike and their crew. Travis and Mike were great to work with and the communication leading up to and during the job was exceptional. Real pros!

I was very happy with Lumby concrete as they constructed a beautiful basketball pad in my backyard. They were easy to work with, did what they said they would do, stayed in prompt communication along the way and provided their services at a very competitive price. I'd use them again for any other concrete needs, and don't see any reason to consider someone else.

I took off one star just because of how early they needed to start. I had workers in my yard at 4:30am, and it woke my kids up super early on a school day. One day was expected, but we had to do it all over again another day due to the cement provider having an issue that Lumby had no control over. I wouldn't want to work outside in the heat either, but gosh that was early. I should mention I had "mad respect" for them because when I went outside early to see how it was going, Travis was right there in the muck working with his employees. Kudos to him.

My brother in law referred me to Lumby Concrete after he had his driveway poured. I needed a walkway from driveway all the back to my patio.  I contacted Mike and he came out the next morning to give me a quote.  Since I knew the quality of their work and the price quote was within what I expected, I scheduled the job.  They called and asked to come out a couple days earlier than scheduled which was fine with me.  They took a day to dig and frame and a day to pour and smooth out the concrete.  It looks great and couldn't ask for a better contractor, on time, they call and keep in touch/communicate with you.

I reached out to Travis the owner for advice on a project I wanted him to do. Even though he didn't take the job because it is not what he does he told me what to do to fix the problem. So if he is willing to do that then I will definitely recommend this company to anybody. Integrity goes along way. And I will be contacting him when spalding opens up and send me my last box for my basketball court so he can concrete some of my backyard.

Very professional and very thorough workmanship. This father son team did a great job with our new patio off our bedroom, and the base for our outdoor kitchen and recycle container. A few months ago, I was wrestling my gigantic black garbage cans to the curb. Yes "cans" meaning plural. We have 3 boys, a dog, and 2 rabbits, which required us to upgrade to 2 city black garbage cans. My husband was mortified by our need for dual trash cans and our ability to fill them each week.
A typical garbage day involves me dragging the massive black beast through landscaping rock while performing old lady three point turns and various driving maneuvers only exhibited by the blind or elderly. I'm sure a few of my neighbors have caught me huffing and puffing with colorful curse words aimed at the garbage cans. My husband recommended calling Lumby after an especially difficult curb delivery week. Why we didn't call them sooner was a shocker??? Maybe it's the small farm we own or my frequent trips to the grocery store because food disappears from the pantry that has kept me distracted, nevertheless, Lumby Concrete was a no brainer!

I had an irrigation/PVC pipe leak under my walkway, and Travis & Mike came out, cut the section out/broke up the cement so I could fix the broken pipe (previous homeowner had used cheap micro-thin PVC which cracked), and returned on Sunday to repour a new 2x5 ft section. Travis hung around all morning working the concrete, and the result was perfect. Once it fully dries it'll be hard to tell which section was redone.

Great company, great communication, good people. Won't hesitate to recommend/reuse Lumby Concrete in the future.

I had Lumby Concrete pour a 7 foot wide by 21 foot long slab as a foundation for my Tuff Shed in my backyard. They did a nice job putting it in as well as putting down pavers leading to my shed doors and rock around the surrounding area. I feel their price was fair and the workmanship outstanding. Recently had Lumby Concrete come out to extend/widen my front driveway. They were timely, professional and provided excellent work, BUT most of all, they cared about the customer! I had several other companies come out and quote the same job, but decided on Lumby due to their 'down to earth' family approach. It's truly hard to find this quality coupled with excellent work, and they definitely did not disappoint. Btw, out of the quotes I received from Lumby and their competitors, Lumby offered the best product with the thickest concrete pour, BUT ALSO, with the best price! We purchased a home that had major grading, flooding and concrete issues.  The pool sat higher than the house, flooding occurred due to rain and flood irrigation. This was not an easy task to figure out. We received several quotes, even 2 companies that came and said this was beyond their scope of expertise.  Travis came out and gave us several options and made us feel at ease with his ideas. He then brought his dad, Mike out to look at the scope of the work and problems, who gave some more suggestions. Work completed.. tied roof drain (flat roof) into a hog drain which then ran down patio to drain at side of house, removed and leveled several areas of concrete and relayed, extended several patio areas.  The work was amazing. The drain was a success.  After irrigation and several rains we had no flooding!  They were professional, kind with our thousands of questions and concerns, timely, clean and price was where I expected it.  I can not thank them enough for finally giving us piece of mind. So just wanted to share my experience with Lumby Concrete. I got a call back within minutes of leaving a message with Mike Lumby from Lumby concrete. He came out within the same day to give me a quote. His quote was very very reasonable. They came out 3 days later to start and where here at 7:30 am all three days. He poured a driveway for us to park our RV on for $3200 dollars the size was about 12 ft by 50 ft, they also did amazing finishing on it my husband was very impressed and happy. (Did I mention my hubby is OCD and a perfectionist so that's saying a lot.) We are having them pour a front patio later this week because there pricing and work is so impressive, it's hard to find a contractor that takes such amazing pride in there work! We had Mike and Travis pour concrete for an extended driveway, and it turned out gorgeous.  They were exceptional at communication and got the job done in a few hours.  They were on time and very reasonable on price.  We will have them out again to do more work in front of our house.  Best of the best.  Thanks guys for a fantastic job!

Yes, as good as it gets. Sometimes writing a review is a pleasure. I don't know how I could say enough about Mike, Travis and the whole crew at Lumby Concrete. They recently installed a patio and driveway at my home in Mesa, complete with matching the "cool deck" on my pool decking, perfectly. It's been a long time since I have experienced this level of work ethics, experience and attention to detail. This is a long standing, family run business and it honestly has been like having family members come to help you out. They quickly assisted with planning and design and I immediately knew that we were on the same page. They knew exactly what I wanted and were confident in how to do it. Lumby Concrete has exceeded my expectations in every regard. They even washed my fence, house, and all surrounding items, including the road were the concrete truck had been. Their quote was reasonable, accurate and remained unchanged through completion. My yard was left clean and free from debris. So I had the ugly house on the block!! I needed help desperately! The front  walkway was beginning to slope.The columns holding the roof up were crumbling.  Not really knowing where to start,I looked at Yelp. That's when I saw Lumby Concrete. I started reading all the reviews!All 5 stars! Then I read a review that said that these guys treated them like family. I needed to hear that. I'm a single women who knows nothing about home repairs. Mike, Travis and crew recently installed our new patio and sidewalk in Ahwatukee. These guys are pros at what they do and I couldn't recommend them enough. They came to quote when they said they would, quoted a very fair price, started when they said they would and finished when they said they would. I spoke with 5 companies about my job and ultimately went with Lumby Concrete. This is a family owned company, Mike, his son Travis and 2 employees Carlos and Alex. I'll start off by saying if I could give them 6 or 7 stars I would. I'm no stranger to the building trades and am knowledgeable in those areas. So, to that extent I'll say if you want a top notch concrete job with reliable people Lumby Concrete is the company to go with. They were prompt, if they said they would be there by 8 am they were there. They were good about calling and keeping me informed during the entire job, also very courteous. Their workmanship and attention to detail was second to none. They listened to what I had envisioned and worked to make it happen just that way and were good at letting me know if something I was thinking about would not be a good idea and would lead to trouble down the road. I thank them for the good job and there is no doubt I would call them again. By the way they do pavers and other finishes to.

I called probably 5 other companies who were non-responsive or didn't offer to come out to quote. Two gave me quotes over the phone but seemed uninterested; no thank you! Lumby did come out same day, listened to what I wanted, and gave me a fair quote. Work was done a few days later; they showed up on time and cleaned up just fine. Would definitely use again.

I requested a price quote/proposal to pour concrete on both sides of  my house. They called me the following day and told me that it was very difficult for them to respond during the day as they are busy. They came over two days later and took some measurements. They told me that they were going to "throw in a few free items that needed to be replaced or added". They told me that they have been in business for 40 years and that it is a family owned business. It was a father and his son...only two employees in the whole company. They told me that since it was only them and they were very busy, that it would take a few days for them to get me a quote. Two weeks later, I reached out to them and asked if they could send me the quote. They replied with an apology and stated that they got swamped and they were trying to catch up. They said they would send it the following day. Three days later I reached out to them again and asked that they send it to my by the following day or I will assume they are too busy and don't want the job. Mike, the father called and left me a message that he was going out to dinner and would call me the following day. He called me the next day....he still didn't provide the quote. Travis, his son called later in the day and provided a quote that was $2000 over what other contractors had quoted. He stated that they are playing catch up every day as they are the only ones that have to do the physical work then go to the office and do all of the paperwork! I called him back and he was extremely rude and irritated. He state that the price was only for half of the area that I had asked to be done. He stated that I didn't want the other half done. I mentioned that his price was extremely high and didn't include the whole area. With his voice raised he told me "yeah well good luck!"
I would never recommend this company to anyone and will continue to tell everyone of the horrible way I was treated by Travis. Mike was nice but this company needs to hang it up as they obviously cannot run this company anymore and take it out on potential customers!

Great family owned company.  Professional, courteous and high quality work. I used them to replace a section of sidewalk and to add a cement pad for my trash cans in the backyard. They offered suggestions to help with rain run off and were so good to work with.  Great communication.  Promptly on time.  Cleaned up everything after.  Offered clear info on what to do to care for the new cement and helped me personalize the back with my sweet dogs names and paw prints.  Highly recommend them if you are hoping for the best service, quality and fair price.  Thank you soooo much - I am VERY happy.

Mike and Travis, a father-son family business are truly professionals in this field. They are hard working, meticulous in their work, polite and courteous folks to have on your property. I needed my den filled with concrete as I had a 8" step down.   They were timely and professional.  They cleaned up when the job was completed.  The work was done very well.  I highly recommend them.

I found Lumby Concrete on Yelp based on their good ratings.  They were willing to come out in person rather than rely just on measurements and photos.  Travis gave us a bid and we scheduled the work; a new concrete pour for one section to tie into old concrete that they would prepare and then put an acrylic lace on the whole section.  The project went great but we had some issues with the acrylic lace peeling in some small sections (many of us know this as Cool Deck).  Mike said  he had only seen this in few times in 30 years.  We all expect good service and outcomes but you really find out the quality and integrity of a company when you see how they manage a problem.  Travis and his dad Mike looked at the issue and scheduled repairs without any questions.  I was worried they might try to tell me it was something I had done but they just told me they would make it right and they did!  Their sub came out and fixed the acrylic lace areas and the project is now perfect.  I highly recommend them because they not only do good work, they stand behind their work.  They were good with communications as to time and dates and kept us posted so we knew what to expect and when.  We would use them again in a minute!

Mike and Travis were great to work with on our backyard project.  They completed an extension for our back patio.  They were very professional, timely and did a great job on the project.  They clearly explained the scope of the work to be done and communicated the timeline and expectations to us very clearly.  Everything turned out great and we would definitely recommend!

Call Mike when concrete is what you need. Family business, him and his son Travis make it happen. We contracted Mike to demo a portion of our existing back patio and go back with colored concrete. Mike made it happen, start to finish, 3 days. Cleaned up afterwards like it didn't happen. Mike's got my business, you should give him a call.
