Kitchen Tune-Up was great. From start to finish, they communicated well and were patient with me while I tried to decide what direction to go in on a limited budget.  I wound up going with the one day tune-up and had some roll out shelves installed. They didn't try to oversell me and they were on time and efficient.  The entire job only took around 4 hrs and the cabinets look great.  They even replaced the little bumpers on the inside of the doors.  I highly recommend the Mathews.  They will restore your faith in contractors!

Currently waiting for the kitchen remodel to start, we have been in the process since May, it took 3 months just to get the cabinets built and installed( 2 base cabinets). I get that there are supply chain issues so we gave them some grace but the cabinets have not been set and I haven't received any communication despite repeated messages I've left for a date of completed project.

I'm getting countertops from another company (thank goodness) and they are ready to install but waiting for kitchen tuneup to get back with me so the can set cabinets or give me a date sonIncan schedule countertop install.

Very poor communication from these folks , I just need someone to answer an email, text messages, or my phone calls.

The job turned out okay. However, we were disappointed with the professionalism of Kitchen Tune Up. We had our cabinets refaced, new countertops and backsplash installed, and a paint job.

The project took upwards of 8 months to complete, largely because of Kitchen Tune Up's ongoing mistakes. They mismeasured our cabinets and had to re-order pieces more than once. They also came out multiple times to replace cabinet fronts that had been scratched during the install process, only to bring replacement cabinets that were also scratched and not suitable. There are already some chips in the brand new wooden kitchen doors and drawer fronts, which is disappointing since we have had them for less than a year.

The countertop they installed beneath our stovetop is not level!! We did not realize this until they had completed the backsplash behind the stove top, and the tiling contractor informed us the counter top was uneven (We were told the backsplash would have to be partially ripped out to fix it). Given the difficulties of working with them up to that point, we chose not to insist they redo all of the work. Now the oil in our pans pools to the right side when we cook.

We have newer polished porcelain floors in our kitchen, and we were very clear that the floors needed to be covered, because they are easy to damage. The project manager, Faith, promised us the floors would be covered. They never were. When one of Kitchen Tune Up's sub-contractors demolished out our upper-cabinets, something was dropped (I was in the house in a different room and heard it clear as day). When I came out to inspect, our floor had very obvious, very new cracks in two places. Then, the contractor claimed he had not caused the damage, because none of his tools were heavy enough to do so. Faith relayed this response to us, leaving us with the impression that she believed the damage was pre-existing. We had to send a strongly worded email to the owner, Garth, before we were assured that they would fix their mistake. We then ended up buying material to cover the floors ourselves, since they still made no effort to take precautions.

Finally, one the tiling subcontractors they sent out to work with our glass tiles made it clear that he wasn't happy about doing the job. He told us that Kitchen Tune Up doesn't pay their subcontractors enough. It was a pretty awkward exchange.

Despite the above, we are mostly happy with the outcome, minus the slanted stovetop and some small imperfections in the product they applied. But the service on their part is minimal. It was a very stressful experience, we felt like we were a non-priority, and we had to stay on top of them constantly.

We recently had Kitchen Tune Up help us with a custom wall cabinet and countertops. The experience was not what we expected. As someone has previously commented in their review, kitchen tune up sub contracts everything out and does not stay on site for any of the work. I did learn that kitchen tune up is a franchise and that other locations do have their project manager on site when any work is being completed, so I would suggest trying a different location or making an agreement with the project manager before committing to work with them. I personally do not feel the extra cost was worth it for us. I had to constantly stay on top of what was going on, ask questions and question when next steps would be taken. If I knew i was going to have to work that hard i might as well hired my own sub contractors and saved a bunch of money. At one point I ended up fixing drywall myself because they failed to come in and fix it prior to our counters being installed. This is to no surprise since Garth never once wrote a thing down and was never on site to know where we were at in the project and address any issues. It speaks volumes when the sub contractors say to you why are you guys not finished yet, this is a simple project that should be done already?. We heard another comment at one point typical Garth.
We also had an issue with our garbage disposal switch. The electrician had told us a switch was completely possible in the counter but it would have to be planned for. He proceeded to plant the wires where they needed to be. On the day our counters were installed my husband called Faith as we weren't even sure who our project manager really was because intermittently it would be Faith and other times Garth. Faith thought that if we wanted the switch on the side of the counter and not the top it might not work and we couldn't get a clear answer to our question. My husband then proceeded to ask for the switch where he thought it HAD to be based on where the wires were planted. Well I can tell you I still loose sleep over it. I HATE the location of the switch!. We then later found out the wires weren't even needed and the switch we got came with everything that was required. When we brought the issue up to Garth he laughed and basically said there was nothing we could do about it now but he could've told us it did not have to put there. Not so helpful after the fact and paying over $5000 on Quartzite. If Garth actually showed up for the biggest day in our project he could have helped us in the moment. Again, I'm not sure what we paid for besides having someone make our appointments for us which was a struggle anyways when you and your spouse work full time and your project manager is not on site.
This simple project took about 5 months. Many issues and extra time could have been avoided. I would suggest if you do decide to use this company that you do your research and have a very clear idea of what you want. They will not be assisting much at all. I will say that for the most part we were happy with the sub contractors and Terry the scheduler, but the services of kitchen tune up specifically was not to be desired.

We had Kitchen Tune-up paint our island cabinets and install new quartz countertops and a new sink. Justin whom we met with initially was amazing! As we started the process and decided on the stone, we were given wrong price for quartz by Faith. Notice this when invoiced for the stone. Still purchased it as I couldn't start looking all over again. We did waterfall edge on our island. Wrong side was matched up with the veining. When pointed out this problem, no recognition that they made a mistake. They forgot to install corbels on island, as we extended it by a foot. I mentioned this to them and so after installation they had to came and extended the underneath wall of the island a couple inches so they could get corbels in. So the island is now supported correctly, but we had plans for cabinetry or a drink fridge under the island counter and now our depth is changed. Making it a bit trickery and limited in what we can get. Please know it is up to you to know EXACTLY what you want. I would have preferred a more modern look of the counters by them not extending so far over the cabinets - you see that all over these days. But they just go with traditional 1 1/2 - 2. It's a bit too far for my liking but no one discussed with us what we wanted and it wasn't until it was in that I realized this. My mistake for not knowing and speaking up about these details. I assumed this company would step clients thru each decision and details of the process. They don't. It is completely up to you. Kitchen Tune Up just hires subs to do all the work. And they don't stay on site to watch subs work or check the work. I could have done that. No one tells you how to care for your new counters, so know you need to research that as well. Lessons learned: know every detail of what you want and need, tell them exactly what it is, watch the subs work so they don't miss anything, know you won't get any assistance in creating your space....it was an ok experience. I could have saved money and just hired the various subs to do the work. Not sure how having Kitchen Tune Up involved helped me at all.

We wanted to update our 2008 kitchen cabinets, and thought refacing would be the way to go.  Since the cabinet boxes were in good shape, Garth said refacing would work, and helped us decide on options.  We chose wood veneer, new doors and drawer fronts, soft close hinges, and light rail and crown molding.  Coordinating everything was Rhonda, who kept us informed of the status every step of the way.

There was a surprising amount of detail work that had to be done by Derick before the final and most impactful installation of the doors and drawer fronts.  We were very impressed with the result.

Garth recommended someone to do the above and below cabinet lighting, and they did a great job.

There were some issues, but they were all resolved.  Four of the doors had blemishes which, while not defects, were not to our liking, and were replaced.  The light rails weren't securely attached, and Garth quickly fixed that, so the lighting could be installed.   After the light strips were installed, we noticed that there were  cracks between the light rails and the bottom of the cabinets, which was remedied by filling the seams with brown caulk.

We are very happy with how the project turned out, and would not hesitate to recommend Kitchen Tune-Up.

Very helpful. Waiting for the custom part of the installation to be completed. I will use them to do the lower cabinets in a new style
