I highly recommend using, Jake! He's extremely skilled, professional, and honest! He did our lawn, bushes and took down our palm tree that was in the way of our pool pump system - he's coming back on Sunday to cut two trees down for us and will be coming to do our monthly yard work after the fantastic job he did today! Super appreciate it again!!

Update: Jake just took both trees out, he was quick and efficient - I looked out at one point and saw him carrying what looked like an entire tree. Unbelievable. Super great and quality work. Jake and his crew were incredible to work with.  Communication was on point, price was very reasonable and their efficiency was awesome.  They added Palms, Artificial grass and cleaned up our rock in less then 7 hours.  The crew was very professional and kind and Jake made sure to see the job all the way through.  I would highly recommend them for your Landscaping needs.  From quote to completion it was 2 weeks, now that's service- just in time for Thanksgiving! I hired Jake back in March and held off on a review because the job seemed ongoing. In the beginning he was quick to respond and started the job quickly which was a plus. The initial quote included a brand new irrigation system, patio and sod. Out of the three the patio is what I'm most happy with. I assumed he would level the ground before laying sod but they didn't. The grass still looked great but areas puddle when watering which is annoying.

My biggest issue has been the irrigation system. I was quoted for a new irrigation system and they ended up replacing the sprinkler heads on the old system and left as is. (Which means I way overpaid for what was actually done). It took him a little over a MONTH! to install the timer. During that time I was forced to drench my grass morning and night. An hour long process everyday for a month! He did apologize and offered to mow the lawn this summer but I declined mostly because the grass needs mowing once a week and based on what I learned about him up to this point I knew I couldn't trust him to be there to get the work done. Once the timer was finally installed it worked for a week and then I noticed dry patches. I realized two sprinkler heads weren't working. I reached out to Jake and it took him another month to have it fixed.

Once they finally fixed it everything seemed fine until I noticed wet patches on the rock filled area in my yard. I figured it was the longer watering periods. But over time those wet patches kept growing. I finally realized 3 days ago the irrigation system is leaking. I reached out to Jake immediately and haven't heard back after three attempts to reach him. Keep in mind it's been 6 weeks since they came to fix the sprinkler heads so for 6 weeks I've had water leaking.

Now I'm out what I overpaid for the irrigation system because I'll have to hire someone else to do this right.

I won't say you get what you pay for because Jake, while not the most expensive, he also wasn't the least expensive. I felt going with someone who quoted me somewhere in between would be my best bet, but it wasn't.

Amazing service done by JW landscape, Jaki made easy communications with text messages to exactly understand what I wanted to be done. Schedule appointment and his crew arrived on time, which made me happy from the start. They cleaned up afterwards including the street and sidewalk. The bonus part what stood out was that the owner noticed I had a sprinkler value leak. Told me that he can fix that part so water isn't coming out, I asked him about if he works on replacing the whole pipe from ground to wall to have new one installed with complete honesty he told me he doesn't replace that since he's not a licensed on plumbing things and that was truly honest of Jaki. Because I guarantee you some others will tell me yes just to have more work. But he was absolutely upfront with me and that reason alone I will choose him to have more landscape services done. We just hired JW to come out and trim the trees in our front yard as well as clean/maintenance for the remainder of the front and back yard and they did a fantastic job! Pricing is more than fair in comparison to some of the other landscapers & that's IF you can get actually get them to respond. After seeing the work they did today we decided to set up a monthly maintenance with them. Great work & the owner swung by to take a look at the job and our irrigation system, which was a nice personal touch.

Finding a landscaper is harder than I thought and the run around and promises of services with no call no shows.

It started out great!  I requested several quotes on clean-up landscaping and Jake was extremely quick to respond.  He quoted me a fair price and I accepted.  

We scheduled for last Wednesday and he texted me saying he had a blow-out and asked if we could reschedule for Saturday.  Although I was hosting an event that day and not able to meet him at the property, I installed Venmo so I could send him money after receiving pictures of the cleaned-up landscaping.  On Saturday, he had another vehicle issue and asked if we could reschedule for Monday.  

Monday came and gone - no contact, no nothing.  So... time to move on to another landscaper!

I am extremely disappointed with JW Landscaping. I requested an online quote. We had a set agreement to remove and spray for weeds in the front yard. He showed up an hour late, and merely trimmed the weeds and sprayed. My mom was home at the time of service, and requested that he remove the weeds. He stated that was not the agreement. I then called him, and he defensively argued that he was only going to spray, and that would take care of the problem.
JW landscaping- I deal with HOA companies, and I don't have to pull the weeds. I have been doing this for 18 years and that is all that I need to do. I will attach the text message of our agreement to REMOVE the weeds, and photographs of how he left my yard with weeds merely trimmed.

Jake and his guys are absolutely awesome! Very prompt, professional and trustworthy. They take great pride in what they do! Our backyard was looking like the jungle from jumanji, but a sandbox version. I was trying to surprise my husband by getting the yard done before he came back home from school that was out of state. Jake responded back super quick, he was very flexible with the date I needed the work done, and helped with my surprise. He and his crew are rockstars! I highly recommend and appreciate them!! Acts of Service mean more now then ever before.  JW Landscaping.  I have used their services for my new yard twice.  Today, I asked JW Landscaping to help a neighbor home from a long stint in the hospital by trimming a plant.  The work needed was more intensive and Jake knowing the situation,  went above and beyond and did not charge me.  He simply said kindness is important.  Jake and his crew are friendly and work hard.  Highly recommend!!

Jake said he could do a project for me, only to be ghosted after 4 weeks of we will do it next week. Found out he was on a planned vacation with no responses to my texts. Such a let down. Do not recommend.

I am so happy with the service I got from Jw Landscaping. They arrived on time and really made sure we were on the same page with what our needs were, while maintaining the health of our tree. I am not very savvy on these things so the transparency was much appreciated. The job was done about as quickly as one could expect, and they cleaned up all the branches and leaves before they left. The prices are competitive and fair. I highly recommend this company and will be utilizing them again in the future.

My experience with this company should have and could have been so much better!
I contacted them about weeds and spraying weeds and sent a picture. They replied quickly and clarified the photos (where they would be working based on the photo etc.). I got home and took better pictures, showing them more of the space. They said nothing. I messaged again, making sure we were all still set on the agreed date and price. They said yes still on. They came and the part of the yard they worked on looks good. However, they didn't do all of the space that was agreed upon and they broke one of my small solar lights by the sidewalk. I messaged again to clarify what happened. He messaged me back saying the newest pictures included more space to be worked on, so they didn't work on the area we talked about. Needless to say, I was really frustrated that wasn't communicated at all to me. I told him that and he said they'd come by Sunday to finish it. Sunday comes and goes and no show. I yet again message the company and was told they had a job that took 13 hours so they weren't able to come by, but would for sure come by Monday. Once again, Monday came and went (today's Thursday). I haven't heard anything. I was giving them the opportunity to fix it before I wrote my review, however that was never done. Terrible communication, not professional. Disappointing, look elsewhere.

JW Landscaping did an amazing job. Answered my request within a couple of minutes and were able to come by within the hour. Cut down all of my weeds and sprayed and also hauled away my old pool filter and screen door! Fast and efficient. I will be using them again to my backyard gardening needs. With all of the glowing reviews for this company (I mean, there are ONLY 5 star reviews for them on here), I figured I'd get a quote and have them come out to trim my trees, bushes, and do some clean-up on my front and back yard. I appreciated that they were responsive and gave me a quote promptly after contacting them, but scheduling with them has been a nightmare. They at first had to push back our original day, which I was flexible about, but then they completely missed our scheduled appointment, no warning about it whatsoever. So I contacted them again (through text) this morning to ask whether or not they were still going to come do the work on my yard, and I haven't gotten any responses.

Maybe this is a rough time, or they're having some sort of internal difficulties, but this is absolutely ridiculous, and unprofessional. I hate to say it, but if someone asked me if they'd recommend this company, I would tell them to find someone else.

Our experience with JW Landscaping started out well, like several other reviewers here.  Jake was responsive for the initial quote and the first few visits went well, accomplishing the things that needed to be done to get us properly cleaned up.

Unfortunately, things did not continue that way and I have had to discontinue service with them.  We have had issues with service dates being changed, sometimes without notice.  I recently have found myself checking in with Jake to ask are you all coming today?.  That should not be something I have to do.

Finally, our most recent service date was missed, again with no call of explanation or to reschedule, and my calls and texts to Jake have gone unanswered.  In fact, our last check to him for service on Feb 4 had not yet been cashed as of last week.  That makes me wonder if something bad hasn't happened to Jake or his crew...

Jake is a nice guy, but I can't continue doing business this way.

He is polite, professional, easy to get in touch with, and quick to get the work done.  He presented me with a quote and was able to handle my landscaping concerns in record time.  Plus, I practically had to force him to take my money.

Got a reply back from Jake with a quote for work. Scheduled for the following day. Got a message from Jake that he had double booked and would not be able to come till the following day. Workers showed up the following day three hours later than the time scheduled. Said that they would have the work done in 30 min to trim two large date palms. 10 minutes later saw the workers driving away through my front window. Never saw the workers again. Jake did not respond to my message asking where the workers went. Would have liked to get the work done. Disappointed at the poor service and communication.

We used JW landscaping to have our weeds taken care of and lawn mowed. They did a great job and finished the job quickly. If I ever needed this service again, I would not hesitate to use them again.

They did great with my winter seeding but summer Bermuda grass seeding was totally ineffective. My disappointment was that despite my multiple requests for them to attend to it, they never found time to return.

We had JW Landscaping out to clean up the weeds on our property & spray to keep them from coming back. They did a great job cleaning the weeds & got everything looking nice. Unfortunately, a bunch of the weeds came back in less than a few weeks. I contacted Jake regarding coming back out, but he never responded. Overall, I was pleased with the work but was disappointed in the weed spraying for prevention.

I contacted Jake with JW Landscaping to have them get my overgrown 2.5 acre weed infestation back looking normal after all the crazy rains we've had, and my property was WAY beyond my doing to get it back in shape, however Jake and his team did a knock out job, which took a couple of appointments and some rescheduling understandably with the season its crazy busy for landscapers right now, but was well worth the wait and the cost. I would highly recommend them, also I have them coming again next week for additional work...:)) Great company!

Finding a landscaper who sticks to their word is hard to find, but I found one. I put out a couple of feelers here on yelp for weeding of my yard. JW Landscaping responded quickly and stuck with their quoted price. Services provided were as promised, and now my yard is weed free. Thank you JW Landscaping. If I need any yard services in the future I know who to call.

Straight forward and quick respnder. He was helpful with my questions about lawn care. My yard was edged, mowed and blown. It came out nice.

He did a good job cleaning up but he never came back to spray weed killer. He said he was and never showed back up. He would reschedule multiple times. They need to get better at communicating because I won't get a message back for days. I asked him to come back to spray and he never came back after saying he was going to.

JW did a great job.  Communication and expectations were on point, along with the quality of work.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!  We hired Jake Wirtjes to cut back the plants in our yard, trim our palm tree and hedges and repair the valves for our sprinkler system. He assured us he could do it all and quoted us a price.  He was very prompt, returning in a couple of days with a helper. The helper did all the trimming and Jake fixed the sprinkler system.  But, Jake forgot to tell the helper about the hedges and the palm tree, so that was to be taken care of the next time he came for monthly maintenance.  Of course he wanted the agreed amount in full right then (which included the palm tree and hedges).
The next day, the sprinkler valves (both) blew apart and sprayed water everywhere.  He came back to fix them again, and again they blew apart.  The next time, he sent his crew to fix them and they lasted about a month before they blew apart again.  Our plants were dying and our water bill was climbing to over $200.  So, I contacted him again.  He was on vacation out of state and said he would show up the following Monday.  But, he was a NO SHOW.  So, I contacted him again and he gave me a song and dance about how busy was: death in family, kids acting up, work, etc. and he would be here the next Monday.  Again NO SHOW!!
We are out the money we paid him, had to hire someone else to fix the sprinkler system, lost several plants, had outrageous water bills, and still need to have our palm tree and hedges trimmed - all thanks to Jake Wirtjes.  He probably thinks he fired us, but WE FIRED HIM!!

My wife and I started to communicate with JW Landscape after two super positive referrals from landscaping-knowledgeable colleagues.  We talked with Jarred (owner), and after an email and a phone call, and then a walk around of our brand new house lot, we agreed on broad project outlines and a not to exceed budget.  We specified two exact flowering trees (and their locations), some categories of bushes, and other items and later declined Jarred's offer to have us help set specific plants in specific locations.  My wife and I and friends returned after the project was done and were blown away by the beauty of their design and the quality and spacing of the plants.   Everything looks healthy and terrific.  One neighbor across the street (who has a nice landscaped front yard of her own), came over and apologized that hers was not up to our standard.  Our project included a retaining wall, irrigation, sod and over 75 bushes. Of course their bringing in nutrient soil before the plantings and lastly bark dust at the end finished off its beauty.  We give them an A+ and are already talking about bringing them back for some additional landscape work where we want more! Not only is Jarred excellent to work with, but as are also his very-hard-working, pleasant, and high quality workers; they too are an excellent component of JW Landscape's accomplishment.

JW Landscape is a totally trustworthy and a highly accomplished landscaping firm. THEIR LANDSCAPING JOB IS GORGEOUS!

I contacted Jake yesterday evening after I failed miserably at cleaning yard and he responded minutes later. We scheduled for 10am but he was able to come early. Within a hour my yard was complete. Jake and his guys were able to help out when I needed some out of control oleander shrubs trimmed. I reached out for an estimate and Jake responded within the hour. His guys came out the following day and did a good job trimming my shrubs. His price was affordable and fair, and I'll definitely be using his services again.

JW Landscaping did a paver patio for me in one day and did a fabulous job. It was exactly what I wanted maybe even a little better than I expected. I can highly recommend them as Dependable hard working and having good design sense.

Jake was awesome. First and foremost, he was communicative with me via my preferred method of contact. He was mindful of my crazy schedule and was very accommodating. I had unexpected travel in the middle of our initial dialogue and even when I returned to the conversation 45 days later, he was able to accommodate my request. Jake has been very professional and amazing to work with. I had previously had a landscape who started the work on cleaning up a backyard at a rental property I had. They end up bailing halfway through the work leaving me in a bind to get the work completed on time for the sale of my house. Jake quickly met with me and was able to provide a reasonable quote. Since, we were coming into busy season in Arizona many of the landscapers were booked a month out. Jake graciously fit me into his schedule and kept me up to date on the progress and any delays. His idea for the backyard turned out amazing and was better than what I had vision for the design. He was also able to provide clean up at my personal house and made the front and backyard look new. When I moved into my house, there was already overgrown weeds, bushes, and trees. I was getting one overpriced quote after another. I sent pictures to Jake and he quoted me a fair price. His team showed up and they were amazing! They checked to make sure how much I wanted trimmed, etc. And they also cared about the birds in the trees and the safety of my property. It's been so difficult to find competent, caring and trustworthy people to hire...I'm so glad I did.

Jake did a fantastic job clearing a lot that we needed cleared of weeds! His pricing was competitive, and he was prompt when scheduling & completing the work! We were so happy, we enlisted him to start doing our maintenance landscaping at our current residence!

We contacted JW Landscaping to get help with trimming up our yard for a BBQ we were having.  We were not able to give much notice, but the owner Jake was on it, asked for pictures, gave us a fast-reasonable quote, and had us scheduled​ for the work right when we needed it done.  The workers were very personable, on time​, did an awesome job, cleaned up the yard very nicely!  We like them so much, we hired this company to do our regular monthly yard service from now on.  Would highly recommend this team and company!

JW Landscaping did an excellent job on a very overgrown Sissoo tree in my front yard. I was very skeptical about cutting it back because it had looked bad in the past. However, I am very pleased with it. They were professional, quick to respond and schedule, and did quality work. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again.

Jake arrived when scheduled to provide a quote for landscaping/yard work and trash removal. We live on a large lot and there was plenty of bushes/trees/plants that needed tending too. The quote was reasonable. The two employees that arrived to complete the work, were polite and professional and were accommodating to what I needed worked on. I highly recommend this company and have them contracted to complete landscaping/trash removal at my neighbors and my daughters homes.

They did a great job cleaning up my backyard.  It was very overgrown with tons of leaves and weeds.  They showed up on time and were very professional.  The price for the clean up was very reasonable.  I will definitely be using this company again for any lawn care needs.

Responded quickly to my request for a quote, and that is basically the only positive part of this review. I am very disappointed with this company. I scheduled for yard work TWICE and both times the crew failed to show up. Even worse, I tried to contact Jake after the second no-show and didn't even get a response back. My yard must have been too much work but it's ok I found another company that did a great job for a better price.

Called Jake, sent some pictures, and he gave me a reasonable quote. He was able to accommodate us the same day and did a great job! He was even able to accommodate the fact that we were not home when he got here. The front and backyard were overrun by weeds and they look so much better now. We will definitely have him come back in a few weeks.
