Jack The Roofer was part of large patio remodel project on our home.  There was a problem with an area of the roof that had a leak with our recent rains.  I don't fault him for this - problems can happen.  What I appreciate is that he came out quickly and fixed the problem.  When the owner personally comes out to make sure things are right, I really appreciate it.  Jack also took a look at my rental property roof and saw a couple problem areas that he took care of.  

Problems happen even with the best contractors, so what differentiates a company to me is their commitment to stand behind their work and make it right.  I recommend Jack's company highly.

Shoddy installation resulted in leaks and property damage. It's covered under warranty, and I spoke to him on the phone about it. He said he would be out in the next day or two to look it over, but never showed up, and has not returned my subsequent calls.

A strong word of caution if you are considering Jack the Roofer for your roofing project. He was hired by my general contractor to build a roof for an addition to our house. Before his crew left the site, they explained to me they would need to return later because they didn't have the proper material to finish. Several days later, Jack told my contractor the crew had returned and finished--but two security cameras clearly showed no one had returned and done any work.

Unfortunately, a week or so later it rained and the roof--which was not properly 'dried in'--leaked in five places. His crew finally returned to finish the job, hopefully properly. To top it off, Jack then refused to provide me or the contractor with a written warranty after approximately six requests to do so. I still don't have one. I urge you to find a reputable roofer and avoid Jack the Roofer.

Roof was installed in 2018 when I first purchased the home... so its it's barely 4 years old. Had I not gotten the nerve to finally change my light fixtures in the kitchen, I would have never discovered the leak in my roof! So much corrosion, it's probably been that way for 2 years!
Called them, texted and sent an email to get someone out finally got a response with the call. They tried to make my problem seem like it was no big deal and then said they were busy but would be out soon..... it's been 2 weeks! Water still pouring into my home and all over the electrical unit for the kitchen lights from the late monsoon season. No response, I texted again and called again... no follow up, no appointment or general time frame given! And now, the mailbox for the phone number is full SMH! Where's the customer service? Or caring about the quality of the job? Nope, just leaving this client out in the rain... literally.

We needed a roof repair asap from where an old AC unit was taken off the roof and was cut back with a new footprint leaving our roof and home vulnerable to damage if it were to rain... unfortunately it's monsoon season and the rains were coming fast! Thank goodness Jack came by and looked at it and came back the very next morning and got it all fixed up just in time for the monsoon storm that night! He literally saved the day!! We are so appreciative!! He also went above and beyond to hunt down the same color shingles that day!!

Horrible experience- do not use. Unfinished work, terrible communication, harassment and threats. Our AC Unit needed to be replaced, and the way it was originally installed required the AC company needed to work in tandem with a roofing company. We hired Jack the Roofer.

Right from the beginning, around July 1, 2022, the company struggled to communicate with us. Calls and texts would go unanswered for days or weeks at a time.

The critical issues started around July 9 when the AC company shared a photo showing that some of the old foam had not been replaced. Calls and texts to the foreman, went mostly unanswered, and whenever we did get a reply, it was only deferring that the foreman would find out more information - answers about this issue, to this day, never came.

Around July 11, we were getting increasingly concerned and started aggressively trying to get in touch with Jack the Roofer. Texts and calls to the office, the foreman, and the owner went unanswered.  At this point, the company stopped getting back to us completely.

The roofers needed to coordinate with the AC company - as the roofer had to be there right as the AC company finished. Jack the Roofer never showed up and never replied to calls. A few days after the AC company finished, we heard a commotion and noticed people on the roof. I asked what they were doing and, because of the language barrier, wasn't able to get any answers other than they were with Jack the Roofer. These workers left after a few hours leaving behind equipment such as a ladder and buckets.

After a few more days of no response, we challenged the credit card charge with American Express.

Weeks went by without any word from Jack the Roofer. Their equipment was still strewn in my yard. After a month and four days (On August 16, 2022), I received a text from the foreman, asking me to call him. At the same time, my wife started getting harassing voicemails, texts, phone calls, and emails from the office manager because they just found out about the disputed charge.

My wife's experience - The office manager repeatedly called, back to back, leaving threatening voicemails, and sending threatening texts and emails. The office manager said she is going to 'ruin' me and leave fraudulent reviews for me professionally online, posing as a client so that I would never be able to gain another client again. The office manager cursed and said she will ruin our credit and she is filing a lawsuit if we do not pay before 5pm that day. The office manager said she is going to come to our house so that all of our neighbors would know we don't pay our bills; the owner is going to come to our house and force us to pay and out us to our neighbors. The office manager said she is going to come down to my office so that my coworkers and boss will know what kind of a person I am. The office manager proceeded to call my boss, screamed, yelled, cursed at her, and told her I don't pay my bills. The office manager said she is calling every other roofing company in town and telling them not to work with me so that I'll never be able to get roofing work don't ever again.

I called the foreman to work out the payment if I could find out if the work was completed and if my issue from early July had been addressed. Throughout the day, as we discussed the harassment from his office manager, the roof needs, and if I was able to count on them for their warranty. The office manager recharged our credit card.  As soon as they recharged our card the foreman stopped communicating with me.

A few weeks later, the foreman left me a voicemail saying he was going to text me something. I never received a text and followed up several times. No more replies from him. As of today, 9/17/22, their equipment is still in our yard, and we have no answers as to if the roof was completed or if that issue was ever addressed.

Additionally, we have no confidence that our roof will receive any warranty that was part of the contract. If they won't call us to discuss anything, why would they return a call for a warranty issue?

If I could rate a '0' I would. I had my entire roof done by the jokester a few years back and have had nothing but leak after leak! My office roof which is a flat roof has been supposedly repaired?? Four times already. I am still under my 12 year warranty and yet again another leak in my office! This time it's a very large leak.
I've reached out to 'Jack',  John Samuel Ruffino, owner and his son Matt with negative responses.
Two months ago, I called their office and spoke to Linda who assured me it would be taken care of.
I have yet to hear from anyone regarding this continued issue of the same area on my flat roof.
I only hired this shyster because he was recommended by a family friend. Please don't use this company unless you're looking for problems. I recently heard his son was so disgusted with him that he left and opened his own business.
I will be contacting the Registrar of Contractors on Monday if I don't hear from this company.

Their worker peed in the front yard of a neighboring house at a construction job. I was appalled and offended that I had to see that man's business. The job supervisor seemed completely unfazed. The worker zipped up his pants as soon as I yelled what are you doing? The picture is just to show the two men at the job site. The taller man said he's the supervisor. The shorter man, there on the left side of the picture, is the one who took a piss in the neighboring home's front yard. APPALLING!

Called to schedule an estimate, was told I would hear from an estimator to schedule after giving them my information. Never heard back. Guess they dont want more business.

They called me within hours of this review. I was at work so I missed the call. The next day(on a Saturday, I come home from errands and find a paper on my BEDROOM door that they had been in my house without me. I had other workers here, but that does not give them the right to enter my home without me here. The following Monday I receive an estimate from them for a roof repair in a random spot that I didnt even ask for that is not leaking. I called for a leak in my master bath and they gave me an estimate for a repair in the garage. WAY OFF.  I called to tell them I dont like that they entered my home without me and that the estimate is not what I asked for. They said they would call me back so that they could come look at the leak. They didnt. Big shocker. STAY FAR AWAY.

RUN!!!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!! I called them to fix a leak ($800) and you get a warranty (WORTHLESS.) I called them to fix another leak ($1200) a week or so later. These were all during winter rainy season. A week or so later the first leak is leaking in the same place. I called them several times and they would not get back to me. About a week later I happened to look out the window and a guy was climbing down a ladder and running away. WTF?? Several days later I receive an estimate for a new roof in the mail. They never fixed the first leak. They never refunded my money. THEY ROBBED ME OF $2000!!!!! RUN!!!! THESE GUYS ARE SLEAZY!!!! GO TO KY-KO ROOFING AND ASK FOR KYLER!!!!

His price was reasonable and the quality of work great.

His workers were hard working and knowledgeable.

Jack the owner came out to our house for a small repair..... he and his assistant were on time, quick to repair the issue and the cost was very, very reasonable.  This was our second time we used Jack the Roofer and both times we were very satisfied and would recommend them to all that are need of a local family business!!!!!!

Thanks to Joel with Jack the Roofer I can change my review.  I noticed my roof appeared to be wet after this round of weather and texted Joel about it.  Later that day Jack showed up and promised to come back when it wasn't raining.  He followed through and showed that the roof is still good to go but my siding is leaking.  He fixed what he could at no charge to me.  I will definitely recommend this company in the future thanks to Joel and Jack's quick response.

Uses scare tactics, provides fraudulent information, and overall terrible customer service!

After multiple reschedules and a no-show, a worker came to my home unannounced, violating their own contract. The worker did not say a word to me when he arrived and just suddenly left in the afternoon. I have no idea what work was done and there was no further contact until I received an invoice days later. After multiple failed attempts of requesting documentation and an explanation of the work done, I finally requested someone come over with me present to document what was done. I later found out that owner Jack Ruffino had already been over the day prior to photograph, without my permission, and therefore trespassing on my property.

After reviewing the photographs, they didn't even cover the full scope of work. After various emails and a phone call from Mr. Ruffino, we finally had an appointment for him to be at the property on walk through what work was done, document it, and for us to attempt to settle the dispute. Mr. Ruffino did not show and did not attempt to contact me in any way.

I emailed them again to express my dissatisfaction and to remind them that I would not be available the rest of the afternoon due to work obligations. They claimed Mr. Ruffino had lost track of time with a client and was on his way, but at this point our scheduled time had passed and I had other work obligations. Mr. Ruffino responded that he was tired of playing games and that he would be placing lien on my property and sending me to collections, even though he was the one who had no-showed our appointment.

I offered to resolve the issue multiple times if they would compromise on the final price, since there was no evidence of what work was performed and the service had been terrible - each attempt was ignored.

A few days later, I received a FRAUDULENT AZ Preliminary Twenty Day Lien Notice for the full amount, even though the work had been performed more than 20 days prior..Mr. Ruffino even admitted to the time frame of the job in an email he sent.

We had Jack the Roofer install a new foam roof on our home.  They did an excellent job and were very communicative along the way.  The job supervisors name was Joel and he was a complete pro the whole way through.  I highly recommend them for those in need of a new roof!

Do NOT hire them for ANY flat roof services. The initial work they did was half of what was contracted. After 4 months of arguing and numerous cancellations, they finally came back to finish the job. I wish they hadn't. They didn't prep the surfaces they came back to complete and still left areas uncoated that were in the contract.  After telling me that the material isn't good to use on stucco they applied it anyway.  
The bigger problem is the material itself. Water beads up and sits on the roof wherever there is the smallest dip in the surface and it doesn't drain properly. The mosquitos are the only ones happy as they have a paradise for breeding. They damaged the tiled portion of my roof dragging their equipment across it. Since I couldn't prove they did the damage I went ahead and paid them to fix it anyway. They still did a horrible, incomplete job.

I'm not sure where to begin when explaining how bad their service is.

We had our roof repaired six years ago and they gave us a five year warranty. As the warranty was running out, our leaks became progressive worse and attempted to contact them for repairs.

First, I tried calling at least three times over the course of five weeks. Each time I was told, we're really busy but you should hear back from us in the next week or so.

Soon I realized that my attempts were an absolute waste of time and I asked our complex's property manager to get involved. She experienced the same troubles in scheduling a time for someone to come out and inspect the issue.

After another four to six weeks had passed and another rainstorm came through, it was clear that the leak was still present. After reaching out to Jack the Roofer, we were informed that (unbeknownst to us) someone had come out to fix the issue.

Needless to say, the repairs were never completed within the warranty's life.

If Yelp would allow me to give Jack the Ripoff a zero or even a negative rating, I would. It's quite disconcerting to know this company is still alive and providing services.

If I'm ever asked if I know of a roofing company to assist with a leak or repairs, I will not only avoid recommending this company but will also say, I know who you shouldn't hire and that's Jack the Roofer.

I truly cannot imagine worse service. Thanks for nothing Jack the Roofer.

Our experience was great.  They gave us a quote to re-do our patio almost a year ago.  We had several other bids, they were the most reasonable and we had had previous good experiences with this company when our roof needed to be redone or re-patched.  

It's been over a year now, and the patio looks great.  We've had no leaks,etc.  They even stained our patio concrete a nice color as a gift to us, it has also held up well.  Good company, and very ethical.

Bait and switch game players. I needed a roof repair estimate and when I called them, I was told they'd provide a free estimate. I told them (Linda, actually) I had a limited time frame -- 4 days. I said, If you can't accommodate this deadline, I need to know ASAP so I can pursue other arrangements. I repeated this instruction in an email I sent to them to confirm the contact and request for service. She told me they could work it in and they'd contact me to make arrangements -- that Joel got all the info I'd supplied -- and he'd let me know when he'd do the inspection.
That was early Monday. Late Monday pm, still no contact from Joel. I texted him asking for an update. No response.
Mid-morning Tuesday, I get an email saying they'll do the free inspection for $250.
Let's see -- you change the terms of the agreement and you let the clock run on me so I'm out of time to try to find someone else, and you want me to pay $250 for this great service...  No thanks. In fact I think the BBB is going to here about this one. You know what jobs are in queue. If you can't meet my deadline and/or if you want to change the terms, you call me within a couple hours to talk it over. Waiting a day looks a lot like you're trying to screw me over.

Came and took one roof tile and said would return in a few days with the few tiles that needed to be replaced due to wind causing them to fall off and break after he found a match.  He never ever followed up, called or texted.  I called to follow up and gal on phone said he was still looking.  That was 3 weeks ago.  Never got a courtesy call, text or decency to say tile match couldn't be found and will return mine.

We've had several roofs done by Jack the Roofer over the past 15 years - 2 houses, a small barn, a patio cover re-roof that was done wrong by someone else.  Always good work.  Jack's a good guy, too.  After that huge hail storm a few years ago, when there was so much roofing work that roofers were temporarily moving their companies to Phoenix and repairs were still weeks out, Jack got someone out to do a quick repair for us in between big jobs.  Good work.  Good value.  Good service.  Thanks, Jack!!!

Matt pulled put the stops for us. We had a roofer back out of an inspection. We called Matt at Jack the roofer and he was able to come by and take a close look at our new house. He gave us a quote quickly so we can close.
We haven't actually used him for roofing but intend to and I will edit this review to reflect. As for now we are very happy at the quick response,care and professionalism Matt at Jack's has done

Jack, the owner, cursed and yelled at me on my property. This is not an exaggeration. He was very aggressive and threatening and I was scared that he might physically assault me on my own property. He is incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful and rude.

My flat roof was recoated by Jack the Roofer and is under warranty. I discovered a water leak in one of my rooms. I notified Jack the Roofer and it took several emails and phone calls and voicemails, over 3 weeks, before they came out, unannounced, to inspect my roof and the water damage. Then it took another week to 'repair' the area.

When he came to repair, I asked Jack, the owner, what is considered an acceptable amount of ponding on my flat roof. He told me everything is fine. I asked him for the specification, because the code in Maricopa states that in either 48 or 72 hours, all ponding should be gone. My roof has ponding beyond 5 days. Jack told me I don't know what the *curse word* I'm talking about, he's the *curse word* owner, who the *curse word* am I, and on and on. All this just because I'm asking him, the Licensed contractor, what the licensing board says is acceptable ponding, because I'm worried about the rest of my roof. I told him he has no right to curse at me and closed my door. His workers finished their light recoating and left without notice.

I have video and photographic evidence of the out of code ponding on my roof. Jack can talk and talk about being in the business for 35 years, but if he is doing work out of code, it doesn't matter.

Do business with someone else, because Jack the owner is just awful.

Jack was a nightmare to deal with. They did a shabby job on the roof of the house we bought just a few years ago and came back to do under warranty work. After FINALLY getting them to return calls and come out Jack, went on a rant calling my husband every expletive along with a Fa*g#t MFer!!! Can not believe it!!! My husband remained calmed and exceptionally polite throughout every conversation before and after it all.

Several calls cussing at clients is uncalled for, unprofessional.  I hope he finds the help he needs for disorders that appear to be outside of roofing.

I hired them due to an acquaintance that worked there.  He helped me in a timely manner in getting me a quote etc.  Well that is where the good service ended.  Numerous ignored emails about scheduling the job.  During the demolition of the project, they apparently hired day laborers and no one present for the demolition spoke English.  They did not have a ladder to do roof work and did not take care of protecting the patio and patio furniture at my condo.  Then came additional work during the installation and yet again, they did no prep to protect the patio and patio furniture.  Black tar pieces everywhere and whitesnow-like material all over the same areas not protected.  I complained and asked that when they come back for the final application of the loan roofing that they cover everything.  They agreed and said they would be there Wednesday.  Well come Tuesday roofers show up and do not know anything about covering up the patio and patio furniture as promised so we asked them to leave.  They arrive Wednesday and do have everything and covered the patio etc.

Now comes the billing issue.  I never receive an invoice from them, I then get a call asking where the late payment is and I said I would love to pay it when I get an invoice.  I got invoice and sent it into bill pay to go out on May 23, 2019.  I then get another call today asking where my late payment is.  I advise her that bill-pay indicates it went out on May 23, 2019 and she asks me to confirm that it has been deducted from my account.  They are more concerned about their payments than they are about customer service.  I have no idea how the quality is since it is brand new, so I will keep this updated if anything goes wrong.  I would use someone else, just saying.

Absolutely the worst Customer Service imaginable.  I'm glad I didn't hire them as I've been trying to get a quote for 3 weeks and it's always tomorrow, or he'll get right back to you.  Finally talked to the Owner and he didn't do what he promised either.  If the service is lousy before you give them the order, it will only get worse......

Working with this company has been a complete nightmare. From day one, we've been unaware of what was going on due to an extreme lack of communication. Without notice, supplies were dropped off at our home. Without notice, workers were on our roof. Without explanation, for 2 business days, a pile of trash and supplies were left in the middle of our front yard, which led to an HOA warning. Without notice, a train car sized dumpster was dropped off in our driveway, blocking our 2.5 car garage, only allowing room for one car in our driveway, and our HOA does not allow us to park on the street. Without explanation, the dumpster has sat in our driveway for 4 business days and is still there as of this review. Throughout the week, we've called and called and emailed and emailed and texted and texted and we've received little to no response. After being told the job would take 3 days, we've been dealing with this nonsense for 7 chaotic, stressful days, despite only 1.5 days of actual work on the roof. I wish I read the reviews on this company before moving forward with the referral from a colleague.

I have called to have someone come out to look at spots where I'm having leaks that they supposedly fixed twice and in 5 weeks, at least 4 calls, someone is always going to call me back. Nobody has done that yet. Incredibly unimpressed with the lack of follow through and work quality.

Jack the Roofer is not to be trusted. After replacing my roof, I had unmatched tiles, a leak that damaged the paint on my patio ceiling and a fluttering noise from the roof area near my sky light.
After much discussion and return visits he painted the tiles and found and corrected the leak. I was responsible for repairing the porch ceiling.
Jack Ruffino claims that he can't find what is causing the noise, despite the fact that it only started when the new roof was completed. He now refuses to return calls or make any attempt to correct the problem. Do not use him.  He and his salesman Dan, are both unreliable.

Called and spoke to Dan or Don. I must have caught him at a bad time. He said he would send me his email so that I could email him my address.  Not a peep after that!  And they had high recommendations from my neighborhood site. Oh well, that doesn't work for me.

I bought a new house that needed the roof repaired. Called Jack the roofer for a quote and all was good. Or so I thought. You see I have a two story house and there is a roof on both stories. Both were in bad shape hence I needed my roof repaired. You guessed it the quote was only for top roof, not all my roof as I requested. Then I try to get them to come out and talk to me about it and they never showed up, always too busy.  I assume making other people mad. When I called they just wanted me to pay for the bit of work they did, rather then trying to address my issue. I will never call these people again. Wasted my time and money.

If I could have left 0 stars I would have. This was the worst experience I have ever had with contracted work. Jack and his staff were not easy to work with, showed up unexpectedly, and completed work without any communication. We are still uncertain if the work was ever done. I could go on and on about how awful this experience was but it's not even worth my time. Do NOT use this company.

Avoid at all cost. Someone from Jack the roofer came out before Christmas to examine a leak that we had in our roof, which was staining a ceiling and wall area. This fellow seemed fine, he told us what he thought we would need to do, and said he did a temporary patch that would tide us over through the holiday, with no further leaks.  Since the beginning of January I have called them no less than four times and, every time (!), I have been promised that I would get a call back that same day telling me when they would follow up with an estimate for the real repairs so we could proceed. Never, ever did I receive the return call. We now have a reputable company doing the repairs before further damage to our home can be done.

After I bought my home some repairs needed to be done on the roof.  My home inspector recommended these guys so I thought they were good.  Well I have been in my house for 3 years and the exact repairs that these guys did are now in need if repair again!  They charged me 1200 for the repair.  Well when I got another roofer who was well reviewed he came out and repaired the same spots for 600.  

Keep looking don't use these guys their work isn't reliable.

Jack and his guys are a great option to the big roofing companies. I know everyone's experiences vary from situation to situation. Ours was super. Jack had a busy schedule due to some recent storm damage across the area. He made an extra effort to come out and do an inspection and get me a quote. His guys were clean and neat and the roof was repaired. Don't just take my word for it, if you have a roof problem try him yourself and see.

I selected Jack The Roofer to replace a 22 year old builder's roof on a my home in NE Mesa.
They were able to start the job 2 weeks later and completed the the job on schedule and at a reasonable price. The materials and workmanship were first rate. The crew was courteous and left my yard cleaner than when it was when they started. I was completely satisfied.

I was referred to Jack the Roofer by a trusted friend who sells real estate and flips houses.  Jack, himself, appeared at my home almost immediately, assessed my project and provided what seemed to be sensible solutions.  He explained that my small leak could be fixed by re-planing the foam around my drains and said that my elastomeric coating for the entire roof was played out and needed to be redone.  A written estimate followed with alternative products for the coating:  $7500 for the standard elastomeric; $12.5K for a water-proof polyurethane version.  I accepted the $7500 bid by signing the contract and mailing it to their office with a deposit for 1/3 of the work.  Weeks went by without any communication about scheduling the job.  When I finally called the office to inquire, I promptly received a new quote for $11.2K for the elastomeric and $19K for the polly version.  I called for an explanation, but simply got a message through his secretary that I could accept the higher price or he would return my deposit.  Even that was an adventure.  I called several times always being told the check had been mailed.  Finally, I had to appear at his office to demand payment.

Worse yet, when I got other vendors to quote on the job, they universally said that only a very small section of my roof needed re-coating, and that my leaks could be resolved by cleaning and some slight repairs to my drains.  They all said the the poly coating that Jack raves about is water-proof but requires you to do a completely new roof when it plays out.  Ultimately, 5 Guys Roofing, cleaned and fixed ALL of my drains, and re-coated the small section for under $2K.

I know that Jack once had a good reputation.  My sense is that he has outgrown his capability, cannot properly service his business and lacks the grace or manners to deal with people fairly.  Frankly, I would not trust him.

We just had a new roof installed on our home. Jack's crew were very detailed and courteous.  They answered questions we had throughout the week and cleaned up the debris daily, and this was no small feat considering they had to take off a 30+ year old roof before installing the new. The roof replacement was understandably a long and loud process but once they started they finished expeditiously and worked around the clock to be as efficient as possible. At the final inspection, Jack noticed additional damage on the eaves due to bees on our plants and swiftly replaced it as well. We could not be more pleased. This was our 4th home using Jack and I have referred him to others, both residential and commercial, and heard similar results.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I have a flat roof that was not draining and water was ponding, causing damage.  I hired Jack the Roofer to fix the problem, and they actually made it worse!  Now when it rains, it's like a shallow lake on my roof.  I have made numerous calls to Jack the Roofer in an effort to give them a chance to fix the problem but the nice lady who answers the phone inevitably takes a message and my call is never returned.  I am left with no alternative but to file a complaint with the registrar of contractors and I will probably sue them for good measure too.

I first met Jack when he put the roof on the house we owned 20 years ago.  Since then he has put a roof on our new house and even roofed our little barn out back.  It was a nuisance job for Jack but he was very reasonable and did a great job.  Jack is honest and very personable.  This is a great family business.

I was working with a client, someone had made a hole in their roof and it was leaking. Pretty simple, and I took care of it. However, This Jack guy was also called out and he declared the entire roof was bad and needed replaced. Which was a lie ... he had the nerve to call me while I was the site and start cussing me out Why are f*ing ripping off this man I said Who are you and he said I am Jack the roof and youre an F*ing crook ...

He was literally trying to scare these homeowners into buying a new roof, and eventually they sold the house and moved, because he had them convinced the roof was bad and the house was falling apart.

The roof was fine for several more years and the house was in great shape, I know the contractror who remodeled that home as well and he does a fantastic job.

Anyways ... after reading the reviews here. I feel better, I know that my experience with this man was a normal interaction with him.

I have been a homeowner in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley for 35 years, and have owned 5 homes.  We had poor results from some of the larger firms and found Jack about 10 years ago.  He has repaired the roofs on our past two homes, and his firm has been awesome - honest as the day is long - doesn't try to sell you what you don't need - and his prices are fair.  Of all the roofers I have used in the Valley, none of the others would warrant more than 2 stars.

There seems to be a common theme of scheduling an appointment then not showing up. We were assured that Jack himself would be out to look at our roof but he never showed. Their excuse was he couldn't make it. I wouldn't waste your time in even calling this company.

I recently moved into my new home and during the first rain we had a roof leak in our kitchen.  I called Jack the Roofer at 8:00am and they had a inspector out there in a couple of hours and the repair was completed by 3:00pm the Same Day.  Great customer service too.  They called me three separate times to first confirm the location in the house where the leak was, second to let me know they had been out my home and to have me authorize the repair and third to let me know the repair had been completed.  I went on the roof when I got home and found the repair to be done very well and they even patched a 2nd area as a courtesy they said may be a problem in the future.  Great roofer, would recommend to anyone.

After getting outrageous estimates from a couple of roofing companies,  and after recommendations from neighbors,  we decided to give Jack another try. I'm so glad we did, we got a 10 year warranty for  $3000 less than their 5 year warranties.  They were prompt and polite, did a great job, cleaned up everything.  And no leaks!!!. Highly recommended.

UPDATE! Immediately after posting my less than stellar reveiw I received a call from Jack the owner personally apologizing of the mixup and the staff's handling of my calls. He's a standup guy and went immediately to my property and took care of what was needed. As a business owner myself we're human and make mistakes but it's what happens after mistakes are made that counts and that shows me a lot. Thanks Jack for being attentive to your customers and I will use you again in the future!

Called them 2 WEEKS ago to have them come out and look at my roof and after repeated phone calls I was told last week someone would be out in a few days. Since I didn't hear antything I figured I would be patient with them because it was the Holidays, I called this morning and no one has gone out. Frustrated, I told them at this pont I would get someone else and they couldn't have cared less and in fact were quite rude and hung up abruptly on me.
I don't know how they repair roofs, they never got a chance but what I do know is the customer service is terrible and the receptionist Wendy is downright rude. It says a lot about a company when the people who handle the service calls treat new business like that so I would suspect the subpar performance would be the same....

They sent an older guy to give me a quote, his name was Dan and he could not even get on the roof to give me a quote due to his advanced age. He took a look at the area where I said I had the leak and I showed him a quote that I had from a different company with the purpose of giving him a list of the items I wanted to get done. He then walked away and said he was wasting his time. Just interested on selling new roofs?

Our patio roof was fixed by Jack the Roofer in 2011 when we moved into our new home. The deal was made by the seller of the home when issues were found with the patio roof during the inspection. 3 years later we had a partial collapse of the patio roof due to a leak. While difficult to get a hold off and track down, Jack himself eventually came out and fixed the roof which was under warranty. A year later after a strong storm the roof started leaking again. The roof is still under warranty so we called Jack again, and called again and again. 4 months later we are still waiting. Bottom line, I would not recommend his service because he will not honor his own warranty. Unfortunately we are stuck with him and are at a point where we are considering legal action.

Disappointed with customer service... This is not the first time this has happened to me over the past few months, but have the most details on days/number of times called... Started out noticing a nice sized bubble on an interior wall near our front door, and because our roof was warranted for 30 years from Jack the Roofer and we aren't even close to end of this warranty gave him  a call to see if he could come out and inspect on 2/24/17. I was told that he was backlogged and that they would be out sometime the next week to take a look at this for us. By 3/3 no call/no show, called back to see if I could get an ETA on when to expect him to come out and inspect. Was told that he would be giving me a call shortly to discuss. No Call/No Show again, tried again on 3/10, same party line, took my information and I should expect to hear back from Jack when he gets a moment. Fast forward to 3/24, still haven't heard anything, still hasn't shown up to take a look. So called on 3/24, and was told that Jack would definitely be giving me a call back to set up an appointment. It is now 3/30 and I STILL haven't heard anything. By this point, I have already attempted to repair the roof myself (though I really want a professional to look at it) and repaired the wall where the water was leaking in to. With the last round of rain, everything looks ok, but this is the most piss-poor customer service I have ever received in my life. Again this is not the first time this has happened to me... Also had a leak back in December and once again, no-call/no-show for weeks... Finally ended up fixing myself and then about a week later a guy shows up and starts stomping around on my roof... Had no idea he was even there if I hadn't heard him walking around (a little freaky to say the least)... This was not Jack, but rather a contractor that he hires out to look at maintenance items... Guy left a bead of goop around the fireplace (where the leak was occurring) and left without saying anything more. This has been a very frustrating experience... Looking back over the reviews that are coming in, looks like I am not the only one experiencing these issues. So much for a warranty on my roof if I can't even get a call back to discuss my concerns let alone try to get a date/time for an appointment.

We used Jack for three roofs this year.  Two were on rental houses and one was the house we live in.  All three were done in a timely manner and very well done.
Our tile roof was almost 30 years old, needing lots of additional work besides normal tile roofs.  We had lots of bad plywood and facia boards.  Jack was the only estimate that was fixed price and cheaper than the other two, both of whom said the wood would bee time and materials on top of the estimate.

The inspector from Jack the Roofer, arrived promptly, carefully checked the roof, replaced a broken tile and said the roof was in good shape.  He thought it wouldn't need any maintenance for another year, possibly two.

Now I have peace of mind knowing my roof is sound and I didn't spend money on unnecessary repairs.

Jack the Roofer redid my roof and I couldn't be happier. The quality of the roof and the customer service was the best I've experienced. I own several rental houses throughout Phoenix and I used another company for years until I noticed leaks in my rentals and the company not wanting to accept blame.  It's been 3 years since my first roof with Jack the roofer and I've had absolutely no problems!

I have used Jack the Roofer's services for 15+ years and have been happy with his work and his estimates were fair. He shows up with his crew and gets the job done in a timely manner. I just needed a new roof on my house and his estimate was competitive and the work was totally done the next week including his crew going around the house and the outside Ramada replacing a cracked tile or two that wasn't part of the estimated roof job. I can't thank Jack the Roofer and Dan Schroff specifically for all his help replacing my roof after the Microburst at the end of July 2014. My roof and evaporative cooler were torn off by the 70 mile winds. My neighborhood was blanketed by storm chasers and while I did get three quotes, Jack the Roofer was not the cheapest (don't ever go with the cheapest bid) but he was extremely reasonable, offered the highest quality product and best warranty! They also did the job in a reasonable amount of time-I witnessed my neighbors replacements take 3 hours, skipping staples and I know their roofs will not last. So happy to have a new roof over my head and have the peace of mind knowing it was done right the first time!

We had our original 70'd clay tile roof completely replaced thru them. There were a few items that needed to be addressed on the installation. These items were taken care of in a timely fashion and Matt was always there to make sure that we were happy with the final results.

DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME TO CALL THESE GUYS. I called and asked for Jack to come by and take a look at a problem, after about 10 days he had not showed up. When i called back to inquire as to when i can expect a visit, i was told that my name was not even in the database, proceeded to give all info. again. It is now another week since my second call and still no visit to look at my roofing problem.
