Tom Mcmillan (High Sonoran Desert Painting) 480-560-5872 completely repainted the exterior of my house and I could not be happier!
Tom provided a detailed estimate and explained the areas that needed extra attention and how his crew would address the issues. He provided advice (much needed) but was not pushy and he was willing to answer my often silly questions about the process.
His crew was friendly and they worked hard. The took extra care to cover areas and avoided spilling and overspray. The finish is beautiful and so much better than the old paint.
It was a quality job from start to finish and the price was well within the average from others.

We recently got our house painted by High Sonoran Desert Painting.  From start to finish they have been outstanding.  The owner & his son came out to give us a quote and explained everything in detail regarding our type of stucco etc. very professional crew. They are extremely meticulous.  I highly recommend them.  We love the new look of our home and are looking forward to them painting our interior within the next couple of months.

Our home was looking dull as well as aged, the stucco corners were chipped, and the footings paint was peeling.
I felt I good a great estimate from High Sonororan so decided to go for it. They painted the exterior, repaired corners, did the footings, even the front door! Then I had them repair and paint the entire exterior wall.
It all turned out amazing!  We are very, very pleased, and highly recommend them!

Tommy and his crew were AMAZING!!! When collecting/researching bids and quotes, High Sonoran Desert had the best quote/quality/commitment/value out there. They aren't going to short-cut anything, and will give you the best/most quality for your budget.

They have been around for a long time (commitment to their craft), and as a result, they care about the long-term lasting quality of their work.

Unlike these short-term owners/companies that are painting as a temporary job.

Honesty/integrity/peace of mind!

Alex and his team did a fantastic job on repainting our house.  We have 4 different colors and it looks better now than when we bought it new 6 years ago!
Alex explained the process they were going to do and had the job completely done in 2 days.
Alex's son came by after job was completed and made sure everything was taken care of and did some quality control items I didn't even see but he did.

Alex and his crew painted the outside of our home. They started on Tuesday and were completely finished and cleaned up by Friday morning. We have a large home with several retaining walls. We had our Gilbert home painted by Tommy McMillan of High Sonoran Desert painting this last week.  We are about 3,000 square feet and 9 years old.  He did a simply wonderful job.  Timely.  Delivered exactly what he said he would do on the day he said he would do it.  They used high quality materials and there was absolutely zero overspray, leftover junk, or debris when they left.  Our property was cleaned up and the house looks better than when it was brand new.  These guys do a quality job.

Alex was awesome! I wanted my exterior painted, but could not determine the colors using my HOA color schemes.  He totally helped me by listening, showing me houses within the color scheme while guiding me to exactly what I wanted.  My house, now painted, looks  soooo good! Our house needed to be repainted and Alex stopped by our house himself and gave us a quote while passing by. I can't give a high enough recommendation to this family-run company, led by father Alex McMillan and son Tommy McMillan.
It was time to have the exterior of our home painted and they delivered - and more. We had seen their work in our neighborhood on quite a few homes and were impressed by the quality of their work and the pop their paint job seemed to give out.
Tommy went out of his way to show us how High Sonoran did its work, and how it all begins with proper prep work. Tommy is a stickler for prep and personally made sure it was done to his - and our - satisfaction.
The finished product on our home more than met our expectations. The professionalism of family and staff at High Sonoran definitely shows start to finish - on time and beautifully executed. Five out of five stars, for sure (if only we could give more!)

I talked to Alex about painting my vacation home in Chandler last fall before we came home. He was super busy so couldn't do it right away but said would do it in the summer while we were away. I didn't love the idea of not being around while this was going on but he had great reviews on yelp and seemed very honest and trustworthy while we were making the deal. Well I was more than satisfied with both the job that he did and the communication while he was doing the work. He took photos and videos and kept me in the loop every step of the way, I would highly recommend the business and would use them again without question

Totally incompetent painters.  TO REPEAT: with photos and proof of their bill.  Do not insult my integrity.  That insult merely reflects back on you.
1. They literally threw our blinds all over the house including into the bathtub.  Over $630 damage was done and subtracted from the bill with their agreement.
2.  They ruined the oak bathroom cabinet in the master bath!  Now it will never match the rest of the wood in that room.
3.  They agreed to paint the walls with eggshell and they used flat paint.  Watch your contract.  Do not believe their words.  The contract stated either.  We will repaint since we can see the old beige through the new grey light coat that they sprayed.  It just feels chalky and is so thin as to be transparent.
4.  We filled our 3-bay garage with everything located close to our walls.  It was a multi-week waste of time.
5.  They gave me a Dollar Tree bottle of stuff to get the paint off my tile!  The paint is hard to get out of the grout because they did not tape properly and it is apparently my job to clean up.
I used this company once before but will not use again.  The family members were NOT the painters.  The people they used were unsupervised and not competent.  All the family wanted is their money.
This experience was a nightmare.

Tom and his crew did an AMAZING job repainting the interior of our house, so it looked modern and more airy with lighter colors. Not only did the finished product was exceptional - every baseboard, door, wall, closet, and corner looks perfect! - Tom's customer service went above and beyond from the very first phone call discussing services until the final walkthrough when our house was done! With our tight deadline to move in, they were even able to finish it one day ahead of schedule. If you are looking for a painting contractor that is detail oriented, very thorough, and does a wonderful job for a very fair price, I recommend Tom and the High Sonoran Desert Painting guys.

We just had our the exterior of our home painted by Alex and his crew and his results were outstanding. We are so glad that we went with High Sonoran Desert Painting.

Alex and his team do the right thing to provide quality service, while still being an affordable options. Alex has been painting homes in the community for a long time and I feel confident that if I decide later that I need a change of color, Alex would come back and help me fix my issue.

They did everything that we need to make sure the job was done right including filling in holes that we had in the stucco, taping up and covering everything, and the results were fantastic!

It is not often that I find a company that truly cares about the quality of their work. This company does. They painted the exterior of our home and the interior cinder block wall. The prep was extensive. They washed the walls, repaired cracks, and caulked areas that had peeling paint. Areas were covered and taped. Light fixtures were removed. Then they painted all surfaces twice with Dunn Edwards paint. They did not thin the paint, so the paint coats were thick and covered the walls well. After they were finished, Tommy asked us to examine all painted ares. He gave us orange tape and we marked any place that needed a touch up. He was with us and marked areas as well. Then they did the touch ups. Afterwards,  we all did a second inspection to make sure we were pleased with the job. When we okayed the job, they cleaned up everything.
Tommy was there everyday to make sure things were going smoothly. His crew was very polite. AND the house looks great. I definitely recommend this company.

Very Satisfied with High Sonoran Desert Painting!
I found out about this company in 2020 while they were working on other houses in my neighborhood. Alex stopped by one day and asked if I had considered getting the exterior of my home painted, which I hadn't. He gave me a quote and went on his way. It wasn't in our budget last year so I didn't act on it. This year, I was ready to get it done and reached out to Alex. He remembered me, recalled our conversation and honored his quote from last year. Unbelievable. What's better is they were completely accommodating to my schedule, I called 2 months in advance thinking there might be a bit of a wait, we spoke a few times over the course of 2 months, and when I confirmed the date, they were prompt, showed up on time and got the job in 3 days. I highly recommend this company and would gladly work them again.

Tom and his crew are amazing. Even my detail oriented engineer husband was throughly impressed with the quality of the job. If you are looking for a quality paint job High Sonoran Desert Painting is the only way to go. Tom has painted several houses in my neighborhood. The houses painted by his crew still look new years later. People who went for the budget job already need to repaint. Do yourself a favor and hire Tom. You will not regret it.

If anyone is looking for a house painter, we highly recommend High Sonoran Desert Painting. Family operation run by Alex and Tommy McMillan and their crew. We got several bids, and were most impressed by these guys, by far. They were so meticulous from the walk-around, power washing, to fixing cracks, to the care they took moving our stuff out of the way and putting it back when they were done. The paint and application of such are so high-quality, our house actually feels like it has a skin on it. Undoubtedly will endure the next 10 years of harsh weather, and protect the stucco well. Ours was a big job, they estimated 5 days but finished in 3! So efficient, but very detail oriented. They were not rushed, they just functioned like a well oiled machine. We are so happy with the job! Can't wait to have them do our interior too.

Tommy McMillan and his entire crew were very professional, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. And, they did a fantastic job painting our home in Freeman Farms. Tommy's price was fair he didn't do what a lot of construction folks do by adding to the cost for things I never thought about. What I paid at the end was exactly what we agreed on upfront and he and the crew were always willing to accommodate requests as they completed the job. He also painted the neighbors on both sides of our house and they were also extremely happy with the value and professionalism of the High Sonoran team.

Stay away from this guy - Alex! Very passive aggressive.  I just finished paying him for his work only to avoid getting into a physical confrontation with him. I hired him based on his Yelp reviews here. All pretty good, can't argue that.  We first met at our home to walk through the project. We got an estimate and hired him to paint the entire interior of our home for $5,700. Once he started the job his communication went out the window - he was rude, dismissive and non-responsive. Did our final walk through today (9/10/2020) and as I pointed the spots that were clearly overlooked and/or needed touchup, he started to become angry and then got really aggressive. My wife and I were shocked and confused. We were doing a final walk through of the job and he gets mad at us for pointing out areas that need attention??? WTH?! My wife became afraid as he began to berate us and got more aggressive. I immediately told him to get out of our house! I told him to just get his things and get out! I would gladly finish the touch ups myself than to put up with this rude, unprofessional and down right disrespectful jerk! I would never recommend this person to anyone for anything. I even paid him half of the money before he even finished the job and the rest the day he finished. Alex - I am an educated, professional and active member of my community. I would never treat anyone the way you treated me and my wife today. It was just down right rotten and you know it is true. Should I post your text apology of your behavior??? Oh but you didn't mention that in your reply did you? You are lying.

One of the best investments we have made in our house has been hiring High Sonoran Desert Painting to repair stucco cracks and completely repaint the exterior of our house. With our house being 20+ years old, some cracking had developed in the stucco and the paint had become dull. The new paint and stucco repair look phenomenal and the house looks new again!

In addition to the high quality of work, the dedication of the High Sonoran team is second-to-none. The level of communication, detail, and overall professionalism made the process extremely easy. I never once felt like I was out of the loop with what was going on or felt like I was being taken advantage of. We received quotes from other companies that were either much more expensive or didn't want to follow the scope of the project we wanted.

Again, I can't say enough good things about how this project turned out and what a great experience it has been working with High Sonoran Desert Painting. We'll definitely be hiring them when we have the inside painted and would recommend them to anyone looking for stucco repair and/or painting.

We just had High Sonoran Desert Painting paint our house exterior. Excellent job! They caulked, primed, moved the rock away from the base of the exterior to get good finish on our house. They moved all the patio furniture and replaced it exactly where it had been. The house was completed in just a couple of days! We are very happy and plan to use them again in the future!

We hired High Sonoran Desert Painting to paint the outside of our house after hearing some positive reviews from our neighbors. They did a great job! Tom McMillan came out to give us a quote and together we toured the outside of the house and he pointed out problem areas and explained their process. All of our questions were answered. We had them paint the house, including the gutters and garage door, and the wall around the yard. The painting took 3 days. They power washed the exterior, sealed all cracks and carefully wrapped all windows, doors and fixtures before painting. They also did several extras including: applying a sealant to our stone to brighten the color; sealed the light fixtures and front gate to restore their original luster; painted the boards on the gate to the backyard; and painted the stacks on the roof. All looks great! Tom came back a few days after they were done for touch-up work. Again, we toured the exterior together to make sure all was done to our satisfaction. Throughout the process, Tom did a great job of explaining his work, answering our questions and keeping us informed. I would definitely hire them again.

The only thing I could say is he is super popular and really busy so getting him to answer back from a text or phone call took longer than I expected. Outstanding, professional and meticulous.   Alex explained the scope of work, then he and his team executed to perfection.  

They completed the entire job in two and one half days, the complete exterior of my home including eve's and facia as well as the backyard walls.  They moved and protected patio furniture and wind chimes and back yard stereo system.  When the job was completed there was no mess anywhere.

Frankly, they are nice people who did an amazing job.  I absolutely recommend them.

The level of detail and precision around my entire home was amazing. The crew power washed, filled in and sealed any cracks on my door frames, fascia boards and foundation prior to paint. They also sealed the concrete stones on the facade.

They finished a single level 3,000 sq ft home in 2 days. Super clean, very detailed!

High Sonoran is old school and in the best possible way. The kind of crew that goes above any beyond even your best expectations. They fix things you didn't even know need to be fixed. We had our house exterior painted. We got an initial quote from Tom and I was impressed at the level of care he discussed that would take place during the paint prep process. When shopping around for others, we ultimately came back to High Sonoran because others just didn't match up. Our foundation was primed, our trim was primed, they used 2 1/2 cases of caulking on the house filling gaps I didn't even know were there. Would I use them again, you bet. Already referred a couple people as well. They aren't cheap, but for the quality I don't know if you can find a better deal.

Prices are fair and the work was great! They  power washed, scraped, repaired the stucco, culked the crackes and use Sherwin Williams Super Paint.  Im sure it will last and not blister as it was before.
Alex and Tommy are very fair in price, and honest. I would use them again. My house looks great and I love it.

High Sonoran Desert Painting flawlessly painted our home and barrier walls front and back on 5/8/17- 5/9/17.  From start to finish, professionalism and attention to detail was clearly shown.  Every detail was checked more than once by the owners and professionals that completed the job.  As we were going through the final walk around to check the work, even what I missed, they found and corrected immediately(normal small touch ups).  This looks like a completely different home now and am proud of the way the curb appeal has improved.
   Leo, Tom, Alex and their professionals are wonderful to work with and painted our home as if it were their own. Please remember when you are choosing a paint company that the price is not only what counts, but the final product.

I would recommend Alex and his crew in a heartbeat to anyone who has painting needs. My house desperately needed the exterior painted; it showed its age and some water damage on the stucco. Alex visited on-site to provide an estimate and listened to my concerns. He also came the final day to help his team with the last touches. By the time we did the final walkthrough, I had no worries. Alex is a fantastic paint and stucco contractor.  He walks with you through the job with his team  before they start so everyone is on the same page and it gets completed to expectations.  The process to prep, paint and clean up approx 1900 sq feet was 2 days.  The color and paint is fantastic and Alex really knows what he is doing so you don't have peeling and issues later.

I am very pleased with how my exterior paint project came along- they surpassed my expectations. The project was to paint the exterior of the house a new color along with repaint iron fixtures, seal the stone and repaint the entire fence on the property. Alex and Tommy (owner and son) understood exactly what I was looking for and their team delivered just that. They provided input when I asked for it and I trusted their opinions. I could tell that customer satisfaction was very important to them. I could also tell the entire crew is experienced by their attention to detail in repairing cracks in the stucco and not just painting over them. The team lead named Carlos was on-site daily; he was professional, friendly and checked-in with us as needed. They moved everything they needed to before and after the paint job and even blew the yard after they were done. I don't post a lot of reviews but these guys were awesome and definitely deserve a shout out. It's hard to find trustworthy, dependable and high-quality contractors. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for THE best home painter, look no further. These are your guys.

I need to preface this review by telling you how I found High Sonoran Desert Painting...

I either walk through or drive through our neighborhood several times a day. Upon one of my usual treks, I noticed a particular home that had just been painted. And it was a gorgeous paint job at that. So I made a mental note to one day ask that neighbor who painted their home because it was probably some of the best work I've ever seen.

Weeks went by and I had yet to catch even a glimpse of this neighbor. Meanwhile, I started seeing more and more homes in my neighborhood being painted-- and the quality of work was of the same caliber. They had to have been painted by the same company, right? I recognized the work. That's just how good it is.

Finally, I saw High Sonoran Desert Painting's sign. And then another one. And another one. And yet, another one. One beautiful paint job after another. I was absolutely sold. On workmanship alone, this is the company I want taking care of my biggest investment.

I found them on Yelp and naturally read nothing but fantastic reviews, so I gave them a call. I scheduled an estimate with Tom through the owner, Alex (his father).  Yep, that's right. This is a family business so they take a lot of pride in their work. The estimate was completely reasonable (and comparable to others in the neighborhood), and moreover, Tom explained the process and told me what they would be taking care of before and during the painting of our home. (This isn't watered down paint. Steps are not skipped. They spray up and down and back and forth for a very thorough coat). I then proceeded to go through the necessary steps to get HOA approval for a change in my paints color scheme. I no sooner got that approval that things were in motion.

The next day, Tom (a heck of a guy) came to put a sign in our yard. The day after Thanksgiving, even after a horrible storm that morning, they showed up in the afternoon to prep the house and not only began painting, but FINISHED painting the very next day.

The crew that worked on our home was incredible. They were so detailed - and so polite, and they put everything back where it belonged when they finished up. The next day, Tom came by to inspect their work BEFORE he took any payment at all.
Truly, it doesn't get any better than this. I will be recommending High Sonoran to everyone I know and they will be my first call should I need any sort of home painting again.

We just had the exterior of our home painted by Tom and his crew. They did a fantastic job and I highly recommend them.

These folks worked with me to provide an estimate very quickly. I had to have a previous painter honor their work however I was extremely satisfied with their attention to detail and concern. The painters did a fantastic job.  We went from a dark color to a light color and they made sure to prime the house and put 2-3 coats of paint on.  This family owned business takes customer satisfaction seriously.  My husband is a perfectionist and this company did everything he asked and even did some little extra things to make the outside of our house beautiful.

High Sonoran Desert Painting did a beautiful job on our home! Tom and his crew prepared our home by scraping all the chips, repairing all the cracks, sealing the foundation, taping and covering all our windows, etc.  Their preparation was meticulous!  They were careful in their application and simply transformed our home.  They use a really good quality of paint.  We also had them waterproof and paint our block fence to protect it from hard water deterioration.  I was so tired of all the brown houses that surrounded us, so I petitioned our HOA to add a new color palette and I am so glad I did! Our home was the first  creamy white home in our HOA, and all our neighbors are loving it. I just love rounding the corner and seeing my beautiful new home!   Tom is really good at what he does, and is also incredibly personable.

Amazing customer service, amazing job!.  Tom approached us, we weren't actively looking to have the house painted.  His approach was very professional and low pressure.  He presented color options and gave great advice.  He explained his entire process and even came back with color options he painted on the house to help us choose.

His crew was very professional, thorough and worked quite unobtrusively for such a big job.  They started and completed on schedule and there were no surprises.

Tom even called back a week after the job was over just to find out if there was anything we noticed that we wanted him to come touch up.  We could not have been happier with the whole experience and especially the outcome.

This company came highly recommended by several neighbors. Tom was very attentive the work being done, making sure all was done according to our contract and that the workers were all on schedule. He gave us an estimate before beginning, which we thought was very reasonable for all of the work to be accomplished. They did a great job and left the yard and outside area so clean, you couldn't tell they had been there (except for the beautiful results of the paint job!) Tom and his crew did such an amazing job on our exterior house and interior cabinets! They were beyond patient with all of our requests, did the whole job in a matter of days (not weeks) and were reliable, honest and friendly. The cabinets look brand new and bring our kitchen back to life. For the exterior Tom took the time to help us pick colors and gave honest advice about what to pick, making points I never would have thought of. Alex and crew have been to our house for 2 jobs in the past few months.  The first job was to paint the entire inside of our house including ceilings and trim. We have a very tall 2 story foyer I was concerned about but his crew had no issues with the foyer and the entire inside was completed promptly, within the exact time quoted by Alex and they were very neat and clean. I was so pleased I called Alex a month later and they came back out to paint my exterior wall and foundation- both of which were peeling from a paint job by another company.  For the outside they scraped, primed, added stucco etc. to make sure it was done properly and lasts.  Again all work was completed in the exact timeframe provided by Alex and it looks wonderful. I could not be happier and highly recommend Alex/High Sonoran. Alex is honest, does an outstanding job and definitely knows his business!

Unbelievably excellent customer service which is so very rare! Alex and Alex Jr. came out for the estimate, priced the job very competitively, and then returned with their crew as promised 2 weeks later. The painters were meticulous in their preparation - taping, moving rocks, binding plants, repairing foundation, and scraping fascia. The paint job was timely,  professional, and so beautiful!! The guys just finished painting our house and they succeeded in making our old house look new again.    Both the owners and crew were polite and went above and beyond.  We love our new house and would highly recommend these guys - everything they used was high quality and they took the time to seal and repair stucco before painting.  Alex or Tom (the owners) showed up every day to check in and address any issues.  They were also very patient with our booking as we had to schedule around a back-ordered garage door, and we ended up pushing back our start date a while - they were very accommodating.  Edited to add:  It's been a few days now and several of our neighbors have complimented the house and I am still excited to come home to the fresh new paint.  My only regret is that the inside is not freshly painted too (that will be the next project for them).

Tom was a great businessman who gave me a fair price for my rental property. He did a fantastic job setting expectations up front so no surprises were to come about later. Tom is an honest man and even brought his young son on the site to teach the next generation about entrepreneurship and instill hardwork ethics. I think we need more family owned businesses of folks that care about the quality of their work and the customer satisfaction. Since moving to Phoenix 5 years ago I find that very hard to find. The McMillan's do care of their craftmanship and do care about their workers too. The final job was great and Tom took pride in making sure I was satisfied. We currently live out of state and are moving to Arizona soon. In preparation for our move I researched painters on Yelp and had some come out to give bids. We ended up choosing Alex McMillan of High Sonoran Painting. He met me at the house while I was in town and explained how his team carefully preps everything and the techniques they use to carefully and thoroughly coat the walls, ceilings, doors inside of the house. We really wanted to hire someone who was reasonably priced, did excellent quality work and were people who would look out for us. We hired Alex and his son Tom and their team to not only paint the entire inside of our house, but also the exterior, the backyard's wall and even the wood cabinets in the kitchen and all the bathrooms! I was able to visit the house last week and saw the beautiful work they had done both inside and outside. It looks like the house has a new life with the fresh clean paint (and new flooring too)! They completed the cabinet painting after I left, so I will post more pictures of them after I get them from Tom or Alex. For now I will post the photos I have. Beautiful!

Because we are in a different state they were great about texting photos of the process and calling to check in with us. We really appreciated this extra level of service. Not only did the paint turn out amazing everywhere, we felt like we could really trust this team. They are caring, honest, kind and professional. I feel like Tom and Alex work super hard to do a great quality job and it shows!

Tom and his guys were the best. They did a great job of prep which many painters don't do. Pulled away the granite, water sealed, etc. Stucco repair was well done and the paint is great. I highly recommend Alex and Tom and their crew. A very honest, reputable family-owned business that's been around the valley for a long time. We had the best experience with Alex, his son Tommy and their crew.  We left a voicemail for Alex and he responded very quickly.  He came right over and took the time to show us some other houses his company painted.  They have very fair pricing and excellent customer service. They are very meticulous. Our house looks beautiful. They also do a lot of extra that other painting companies don't do.  They power washed the entire house, caulked all the cracks on both the wood and stucco, all around the windows and made sure the foundation was painted and sealed. I was surprised to see that they laid down plastic on our travertine in our courtyard and back patio. They harass people in the neighborhood where they are working. The old guy approached me one day when we were leaving and kept saying, I've been trying to get a hold of you for weeks and nobody answers when I come to your door. Well, this is the first time I'd ever seen him before and he's never come to my door before. He certainly wasn't invited as we've never inquired about painting. Then he said, I can get you a great deal if you do it today or tomorrow and we do all your neighbors houses. He was very pushy and wouldn't even let me say a word back. I had to leave and he said he be back in a couple of days to check about when we wanted to start the paint project. Then the son shows up the very next day and says, My Dad said you were ready to commit and we want to start today. The son was pushy and aggressive too, so it's obvious where he learned that from. Would definitely not hire someone who goes about it this way as they are way too rude and aggressive. This is painting, not buying a car.

Just had our home in Freeman Farms painted by these guys. They are reasonably priced for the job they do. Their crew works neatly and efficiently, which is huge in my book!! The paint is meant to stand up in the AZ sun and will last better than the construction grade paint we've had for 7 years. They have done over 40 homes in our neighborhood and I've not heard one complaint about them! We wouldn't use anyone else for indoor or outdoor painting!

After researching companies that do exterior painting on Yelp, I called Alex from High Sonoran.  Working with Alex was such an easy process.  During our phone conversation, Alex explained the materials he uses, the prep process, and pulled up my house address online to get a view of the home, which made the conversation extremely productive.  The estimate Alex gave me was reasonable, so I decided to go with High Sonoran.    

Alex met me at home after work to sign the work order and pick out colors. I appreciated Alex's input into what colors would work best for my property to make my home look more modern, as well as to ensure my home didn't have the exact same color scheme as the homes directly around me. While at my home, Alex also gave me an estimate to paint the brick wall around my property, and I had that piece added to the job.

His crew started on my house exactly a week after signing the work order.  Most of the job was finished on the first day-his crew literally worked from sunrise to sunset, and they did a great job cleaning up.  The second day was mostly touch up and a walk through with Alex to make sure I was satisfied with the job.

For me, this was such a pain-free process and my house (and surrounding brick wall) look fabulous.  Alex understands that people are busy and does his best to work with your schedule. His crew works efficiently and they provide a quality paint job.

Being in a 10 year old neighborhood, we knew it was time for a new paint job. We chose these guys and couldn't be happier. Tom is an honest, straightforward guy who clearly explained all the options and pros and cons of each. Fair pricing, excellent communication, and high quality work completed in a short period of time. We didn't lift a finger - the crew moved all furniture etc.

Additionally, we hired them to repair our pool deck cracks, color and seal. It's looks brand new at a fraction of what the pool companies charge.

Alex (the owner) and his son are competent, fast and they demand nothing less than perfection.  I needed my house exterior painted quickly, and they came out and did an awesome job within 2 days.

I expected them to just paint to coat as I've heard other contractors describe it ... but they actually did much more than that.  

They ...
- Filled cracks and imperfections in the stucco.
- Filled gaping edges with caulking.
- Primed some wood that had been recently repaired (before painting it).
- Coated the base of the house with a concrete sealant.
- Covered rough / weathered wood around my trim with a layer of elastomeric paint to make it look smoother/newer.

Their price was a couple of hundred bucks more than another place that offered to paint to coat but I would rather get it done right so my house will be protected from that Phoenix heat.

Alex completed painting the exterior of our Gilbert home today. It has been a wonderful experience. His employees are professional, meticulous,  and perform high quality work. Alex only uses Dunns Williams paint and is fair, honest and prompt. He is a man of his word, does what he promises on time. We had our homes interior painted four months ago. We wished we had known of Alex then. The quality between the other painting contractor and Alex was night and day. They were slow, sloppy and had no pride in workmanship compared to Alex. We would highly recommend Alex to family, friends and would happily do business with him in the future.

We just had our house painted and I am SO HAPPY with the work! I have to give a shout out to this company! They are old school and family owned. John, Tom, George, Francisco & team were not only friendly, but professional, FAST and soooo neat!! I was amazed at the excellent stucco repair that they did! They started on Tuesday morning at 9am with prep and finished at noon the next day! They are working on my mom-in-law's house this very minute! I can highly recommend them! Great price too!! Excellent service.  Very professional and a great communicator.   Before starting the project they informed me what their process would be and provided addresses on jobs that they just completed to scope out their work.  Gave me ideas on paint colors, and when I wasn't convinced they had sample variations prepared for me at a local paint store to pick up and test.  Best part of the service was that they started and finished on schedule and the job looked great as promised.

I first found High Sonoran Desert painting from Nextdoor community website and they came highly recommended. I decided to give them a call and Tom came out to give me a quote. He impressed me right away with his honesty about what he will and won't do for various price points and he mentioned that they won't be the cheapest painters in town. I wasn't looking for cheap, I was looking for value and they provided just that. His dad Alex was the one who overlooked our project and I was once again blown away by his attention to detail. He made sure every corner of the house was taken care off. They sealed all the cracks, sealed the foundation and even hand painted all the wood to give it a nice finished look. In a nutshell, they did everything like it was his own house. Great job guys! It's really refreshing to find people that does their job with the highest integrity and stand by their work. We just had our whole exterior painted last week by High Sonoran Desert Painting - Tom McMillan. It is a family business that had recently painted several places in the neighborhoods around us. The referrals were very positive. We worked primarily with one of the sons, Tom, but met Alex the father, as well.

We needed several items fixed: some stucco work, trim peeling, foundation peeling, RV gate had rusted, and some decorative wall repairs. Our garage doors and front door had also gotten so faded.

It turned out that repainting the entire exterior made more sense.

They were great! They worked quickly around our schedule and were very efficient. The crew was extremely conscience. They pulled all of the rock away from the house to do the foundation. They refreshed our brick and coach lights. The front door looks like new. They protected everything very well and when they left, we didn't have a single scrap or mess anywhere. The whole exterior is so clean and stucco repairs were great!

We couldn't be happier with the job they did! We highly recommend them and will definitely call them for future interior or exterior needs!

Tom is a stand up guy and his crew did a great job for us.  I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience.  We had water damage from a leaking A/C condensation line and we needed a room repainted after the repairs were made.  Tom came out to give us an estimate and we discussed adding some other rooms to the job.  Our living room walls are 22' high and I figured it would cost big bucks to repaint them.  Tom gave us a reasonable price that was within our budget and we are very pleased with the end result.   Tom is friendly, he's a good communicator, and his crew works hard.  They showed up on time, cleaned up their mess and most importantly, did it all with integrity.  My wife and I are happy to have found a local family-owned painting company.  Thanks guys, we'll be calling you again!

Our 18yr old house was in desperate need of a fresh paint job, and we are so glad we chose to go with High Sonoran Desert Painting! We can't say enough great things about these guys! They are very reasonably priced and completed the job in 2 1/2 days!! Tom was so great, very knowledgeable, informative, and had some great suggestions which, thankfully we decided to do. Like using the trim color to accent our bump outs, it's such a nice looking touch, and having our ugly brick wall around the backyard painted to match the house, what a huge improvement! Wish we'd done that years ago, it looks so nice now!! They were so meticulous and really paid attention to the details from trim to foundation, paint is so evenly blended. Tom even had a great surprise for us and they sprayed a coating on our brick parts that made them look like new! I swear our house looks better than it did when it was brand new. If you have ever had your house painted you know it can take up to a week. Not with these guys. They come in and paint like pro's. Cuz they're the pro's. Two days and the Job is spectacular! The paint is beautiful! My neighbors used them and their house is going strong, so we used them. We just had Tom and his crew paint the exterior of our home and the interior of our block wall. I was impressed with the amount of prep they did, fixing cracks in the stucco, and sealing the facia board before they painted. They sealed the entire base of the house as well. They applied two sometimes three coats of paint in areas of the house that needed it, particularly on the southwest walls. While they are not the cheapest painters in town, they are well worth the price. Toms customer service was above and beyond, he was patience during the color selections, even answering his phone once on a Sunday. You won't be disappointed. Bob L

The owners Son came to my neighborhood, and came to my door asking if I needed my home painted. The Son (Tom), was very pleasant, and seemed very forthright. He told me his company did excellent work, and was happy to  have me see the work he had done in my neighborhood.
I took him up on his offer. The work he does is stellar.
I hired the company to paint my home. His crew, of two tradesman, showed up at approximately 7:30 am.  They started going to work with prepping. I asked Tom how long it would take to finish. To my surprise, he said the job would be complete the same day. He wasn't kidding!
I watched the process. They leave no stones unturned. They use Dun Edwards paint (a quality product), and lots of it.
At approximately 2:30 pm, one of the painters rang my door bell, to advise me the job was done. I went out to see if the place looked like I was told it would look.  The paint job lived up to my expectations.
I highly recommend them. Great job. Great price.

I recommend these painters to my neighbor, who wanted his house painted. When Tom was through negotiating the paint job, I asked him to give me a quote to resurface my swimming pools deck. He told me would get back to me.
A few days later, Tom called me, to tell me he had cool deck paint left over, and said he would give it to me free of charge. Additionally, he said his painters would paint the deck for labor only. Smoking deal!
His painters came over, and completed the job in about an hour.
Once again, they came through for me. The job they did was top drawer.

10 stars without exaggeration for honesty, diligence and uncompromising satisfaction. Alex and his son Tom are exceptional, here's why:

1. He delivers on what he promises which is rare these days.
2. He's responsive to any call you make. He actually calls you back in a timely manner no matter what; another rare quality these days.
3. Exceptional work ethic where he and his crew will work with you through any issues. He did such an exceptional job I had him paint both inside and outside of my home. It was a difficult job because it was very large and there were many issues with the original paint. We had to work through many issues and he always responded the same- I want you to be happy and well pleased so I'll do what you ask me. They continually went above and beyond by even helping me with some things that were clearly not their job.
4. Alex made sure that you'd be happy with the color by ensuring the paint vendors (Sherwin Williams and Dunn Edwards) worked with you. He would call to ensure they treated you with white gloves.
5. As in any large job there are requested changes and there may be some miss communication. He always made it right even when I'm sure there was fault by ME not explaining clearly. His response was the same, we'll make you happy.
6.His pricing was exceptionally fair.

I can't  say enough about the experience. Alex and his son checking in, calling you to make sure all was OK and if they could do anything else.

What a company. I wish I could find other contractors like that.

We just had our home painted by High Sonoran Desert Painting and were extremely satisfied with the workmanship and the professionalism of the owner (Alex) and his son (Tom) as well as their entire crew.  This is a family owned/operated business who take great pride in the quality of the work performed, and, is a prime example of old school work ethic that you see far too seldom anymore.

When Alex came to our home to provide us with an estimate, he pointed out several maintenance items that would be included with the job such as the stucco wall repair, wall cracks/holes, flaking paint on the yard wall rail, rough exterior of the yard gate, calking around the door trim, and the stem walls (bottom portion of the home exterior walls) that were deteriorating and flaking.  

I point these things out because what you'll receive by hiring High Sonoran Desert Painting is well beyond an exterior paint job - more like a face lift for your home.  I especially want to note the stem wall repair.  The crew dug the gravel out from around the exterior of the home, removed the loose material from the stem wall, painted a plastic type barrier onto the wall, and finished the wall with a rubber coating before painting.  (Our neighbor pointed this out saying they wished the paint crew that completed their home a year prior had done this because the paint on the stem walls was already flaking off.)

I would very highly recommend this business to anyone looking to have their home exterior repainted.  Top shelf job painting/repairing our home, very easy to work with, showed up as promised, and completed the job in advance of the initial time estimate.  The job site was immaculate when the work was complete.  Nicely done guys!

We had to replace our garage doors when one broke and Alex made sure he fit us into his already busy schedule so we didn't have to look at bright white doors for too long. I highly recommend High Sonoran Desert Painting.  I recently hired them to paint the interior of my home.  It's not the first time I've hired professional painters.   Here's what I like about my experience with High Sonoran.  They did what they said they would do, finished sooner than they said they would and painted my house better than any other painting company I ever used.  Unlike prior experiences with other painters, the paint lines were CLEAN.  There were no lines bleeding into the ceiling, door jams or windows.  They put plastic over EVERYTHING.   My flooring, cabinets, appliances, etc.   They were extremely careful with their work, and very courteous.  I don't hesitate recommending them.

Alex's company has painted numerous homes in my immediate neighborhood. Well over 10. That in itself is a good recommendation. I asked many of his former customers their opinion of his work, and to the man I got high praise. Most comments centered quality and customer involvement the in the entire process. He explained the how and the why of the process to my satisfaction so that I felt my decision to go with his company was a sound one. In my opinion there many companies that will paint your house, but few will do the job with as much skill and dedication to detail as this one. If it were possible to give this company 10 stars, they definitely deserve it. It is not often you find companies today that provide extreme customer service.......but High Sonoran Desert Painting is all about quality and customer service.

I have a 3260 sq.ft. home that they just completed the exterior painting. They also painted my block wall. The quote I received was more than fair. Their attention to detail was incredible. This company tells you what they will do, and then they do what they told you they would do and more. High Sonoran did things I did't even ask for.

Example: My light fixtures on the outside of the home were dull and faded. They used a clear coat on them and they are just like new. They also used a clear coat on all door handles that brought the shine right back. These are just two things they did that was not discussed in the quote. When prepping the block wall, they removed the rock away, put on a rubberized sealer along the base to keep future moisture out and then painted the wall and replaced the rock. The rubberized sealer was also put around the entire foundation of the home before painting.

The crew was excellent. They cleaned up each day and would tell you what time they would be here the next day, and they were always right on time. When the painting was complete, they walked the entire home looking for anything that needed touched up. The front of our home has like a tower at the front entrance and they saw a small spot that needed a touch up. They got their ladders back out and went on the roof to take care of this small touch up.

I was in sales for 35 years and understand and expect great customer service. It is not something that is often found anymore but I can tell you, High Sonoran Desert Painting understands it, and more importantly, practices it everyday.

If you are in need of interior or exterior painting, you should call High Sonoran Desert Painting. They are a family owned company that still provides great customer service and quality work. I will use and recommend them for all future needs.

Alex and Tom (owners) are great, they came out a few times to work with us on the estimate and picking colors.   They also showed us houses in our neighborhood which they painted 12 years ago and they are still looking great.   When the work order was finalized, they came in less than a week, took 2 days and everything was done.   Fantastic job, our house had not had paint in 23 years, so it had many cracks in the stucco and the ceiling drywall over the back porch was almost falling down.   They might not be the cheapest show on the road but they use quality paint, lay it on thick and fix every exterior issue,  even lacquered the front door...  Great Job!!

We had our house painted by High Sonoran Desert Painting recently. We weathered rain and a dust storm after it was painted, and it still looks amazing, like it was painted yesterday. Alex was very helpful in picking the colors. I love the attention to detail from him and his crew, they even freshened up our outside light fixtures! WoW!  Great Job!  They painted the exterior of our home and did a fantastic job.  They used Satin Dunn Edwards paint and Alex (Owner) was very knowledgeable about the fine details that needed to be done and then some.  The workers were prompt and kept busy.  They were very attentive and courteous if you pointed out a detail that needed attending to.  They only took three days to do our home and they were paid after completion.  I felt that Alex's price was very reasonable and that he seemed to be aware of these tough economic times that we are all facing at this time when he bided our house painting job.

Alex and his team painted two of my neighbor's houses across the street. He also approached me with a quote and explained the steps he would go through painting house exterior. I asked Alex to wait for a week and requested my landscaper trimmed plants back around the house. Alex and team did an amazing fast and detailed preparation and painting job. At final work-through, I liked the result and could only find 2 minor details that can be better. Alex said he would stop by later to fix them and he did  follow up within the same week. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.  The Yelp reviews I read led me to meet Alex and they are correct.  Alex personally is on site for the job.  The company power washed, scraped, filled cracks, prepped wooden fascia, prepped at ground level (after pulling the rock back) with a liquid rubber, masked everything including extensive pavers that abutted walls, and painted with full-strength paint -- not watered down like I have seen others use.  Alex was not completely satisfied with the trim so he had his crew repaint it with brushes.  After clean-up, there was no trash and most importantly not one drop of over spray.  And...all this was done in 1 day.  I simply do not know how this job could have been done any better.

I highly recommend High Sonoran Desert Painting!! The attention to detail was exceptional and Tom and His Dad Alex (Owners) were involved  in every way possible and even after the job was done, Tom stopped by and asked if I needed anything and how I liked the new Paint color palette.. expressing he was available and to call him directly if anything needed to be addressed. Totally professional and experts in this field and it was a big decision for me but the best one I made this year in choosing them at a fair price. They went above and beyond to complete the job to my satisfaction and my high expectations and demands but never an argument or disagreement. Their team was also very friendly, polite and experienced in knowing what they were doing when it came to my Color scheme and fine details. We just had our house exterior painted by Tom and his guys. They did a great job. We weren't really in the market to get our house painted but after seeing what he was doing to our neighbors houses we wanted ours done as well. It took 1.5 days and the job was excellent and was done for a very fair price. What they moved away from the house they put back in the exact same spots, and we couldn't find a stray spot of paint anywhere (which surprised me!). They even scraped the rock away from the base of the house to paint and seal. So much better than before. I highly recommend them.

Our home was just repainted by Alex and his crew,  The job was excellent!  The workmen were professional and everything was done beautifully.  We were surprised that it took only 2 days!  It looks great and we are very pleased.

Tom gave us his business card then walked the property with us while explaining all the services he would do while painting our home.  The list was impressive and his quote excellent.  We scheduled a date and he came on time. First he spray washed the exterior.  The next day he sanded and primed the trim, taped the windows, and primed the foundation. He filled cracks and taped cracks in wall board.  He then spray painted the exterior with two coats of quality paint.  An excellent job.  He was also able to reseal our stone fascia and wood front door making them looking brand new. When finished he cleaned up even pushing stones back up to the foundation.  Neighbors dropped by while he was working.  They too were impressed and Tom was able to schedule three more homes on our street.  We are very pleased with his work and highly recommend this company.

WISH THERE WAS A 10 STAR RATING, they would get it!!
Son, Tom was in the neighborhood and left me a card.  A few days later, he came back and told me the houses they were painting, and had me take a look at  them.  I did, and they looked wonderful.
So, when he came back later, he gave me a full explanation of what they would do.  We walked around the house, and he pointed out cracks, chips, fading....and explained what he would do, and the quality paint they used.
After giving me a price he said he would check back later....NO PRESSURE or sales 'pitch'.
A week later I got a call saying he was in the area, could come on over and start the job!!  So efficient!  The power washing and window prep was done that afternoon, and they painted the next morning.  Completed that day!!
I just can't believe how BEAUTIFUL my house looks!!  Again, we walked around so I could see details!!  Wow, no more cracks, and the house just GLOWS!!
What a professional job.  I would recommend them to everyone!!

Like other yelpers... Alex and his son Tom were in our neighborhood and happened to catch me unloading groceries.  You know how you can just get a vibe someone??  Well I instantly liked Tom (great Canadian accent!) We chatted and since we were looking to get our exterior home painted I went ahead and got a bid from him.  Was significantly lower than other bids so I took his number.  Checked ROC and yelp and decided we wanted to go with them.  Reason I like them so much. 1)  Called me back when they said they were going to. 2)  Showed up to the job on time and kept me informed the whole project time.  3) Was happy to accommodate my requests to painting a few extra areas, 4) Completed job on time.  5)  Very easy to work with and truly values superior customer service.  We will be calling them again to do future work... they are now our only painter we will use.  You won't go wrong using Tom & Alex!!!

WOW, is the right way to describe this company and the job they did. Alex and his men showed up when they said they would and began their preparation to do the job right away. First they power washed the house.Then they taped all the windows and doors with care and put plastic down on the entire patio and some of the cool deck and even our van that we forgot to move. They put plastic down across the width of the driveway and the entire entrance walkway to the front door. They patched the many holes that they found... d a r n those woodpeckers, and sealed our windows where they needed to and the cracks in our wall. They pulled the rocks away from the entire base of the house and the walls of the property. Day two... they painted the entire exterior of our home with Satin  Dunn Edwards paint. Alex, the owner, was easy to talk to, attentive and respectful, and so were the guys. All work was very  professional. The guys were busy all the time, no smoking, no load music and very.very little chit-chat while they were working. Each had their own job to do and each one was very experienced at his own job. We were amazed how well they all worked together and how beautiful our home looks now. Alex seemed well aware of the economic times and the fact that we were senior citizens and his price, we thought, was very reasonable. We don't hesitate to brag about them to our neighbors and friends. Thanks Alex and your crew of great guys. You did an amazing job!
