From the very beginning, as frustrating as it was to see water leaking from our ceiling. The staff, starting with Ms Serina, was extremely helpful, kind, polite and understanding. Everyone that came to our home to do work was very professional and kind as well. My wife and I are very please with the outcome and would recommend Gurr Construction to everyone. Thank You

I experienced workers not showing up when promised .  It was a
difficult process from start to finish.  I would not recommend Gurr Brothers.

I chose Gurr Bros. because of their great reviews, so I think I owe it to the community to explain the single star.

1. It took them 7 months to do a relatively small job.
2. They often didn't show up when they said or had workers show up without notice.
3. They never cleaned up a thing and left a huge mess.
4. The work was not great.
5. They included over $1,000 worth of charges for work they did not do.  

Surprisingly, the single star is not because they took 7 months to replace a couple of cabinets and a countertop in my kitchen (yes, 7 long months, mostly without a kitchen). Nor is it because part of the same job involved some plumbing work done so poorly that I had to hire Kendall Plumbing to come out 2x to fix Gurr Bros. work. (Thank you, Fernando at Kendall Plumbing, you're the best)

The reason they get 1 star (I would actually go with zero), is because after over 7 months of them promising they would come out and not showing up time and again, their final invoice was full of stuff they didn't do. I pushed back with a detailed list of all the disputed charges, but somehow, even after removing all those charges, the total I owe them is almost the same. (This is based on the outstanding balance one person from Gurr told me over the phone before I received the final invoice.)

I get that a lot of people have had great experiences with Gurr, and you're probably thinking I was a total b word, but I wasn't. Honest. My family was experiencing a super scary medical emergency at the time and I simply didn't  have the bandwidth to be bitchy or watch Gurr like a hawk. I'm guessing they took advantage of my weakness. I hope not. They really have made me much less trusting of workmen, though, and it makes me incredibly sad.

Anyway, I wish I had done more due diligence before I chose them. I'll leave an update after the final invoice is settled and post some pics of their workmanship when I can. Good luck, everybody.

UPDATE:
So I had a conversation with Topaz (general mgr?) today and she took more charges off for work that wasn't done, but I still owe more than insurance is paying, even over my deductible. And I still have to pay for someone else to do the work they didn't finish. Plus, I'm out $300 for the plumber who fixed Gurr's mistakes. Overall, I still feel like I'm getting screwed although I find the invoices difficult to understand, so maybe I'm not. I'm finding it hard to trust them. I may just pay them so I can stop worrying constantly. It's no fun. I have a knot in my stomach all the time over this.

I'm guessing my poor decision not to interview more contractors is going to cost me over $1000 plus 7 months of misery. I'll update this when I decide what to do. :(

Had some newer reviews pop up on my radar. I feel bad for the people who didn't dodge the bullet I did, and I'm glad I said something despite the threats. Pretty scary stuff!

If I could give zero stars I would. I did not choose this company, but after my upstairs neighbor unit flooded and my unit was completely damaged the restoration company hired this company. This project was projected to take 3-4 months to complete it has been nearly a year and it has still not been completed. They have damaged my personal belongings by leaving them in the rain outside instead of simply asking me to move them into storage this included electronic items, even a laptop! They have made several HOA violations including never tarping anything despite several requests to and dripping paint on the lobby carpet damaging it which they vehemently denied until my HOA provided surveillance footage of the worker completing the damage.  Even then I still was on their side and tried to be as accommodating as possible. The communication went from essentially absent for the last 6 weeks to beyond rude and unprofessional and sending me random invoices with no conversation despite not completing any of the promised work for the final invoice to be complete.  At this point I am sincerely wondering if any positive reviews left are actually real.

Such I great company to work with! I told Bryce what I wanted in my kitchen and he brought it to life. He also was able to help me with my vision on what I wanted. He showed us his portfolio and different options for finishes. His company and staff were very professional through out the whole process. They took care of my house. One thing I am always concerned with during construction is nails and screws being left everywhere and I did not find a single one when they were all done. Highly recommend and will be using again in the future for a bathroom remodel! You will not be disappointed.

While we had some start up problems the company stepped up and got almost everything completed.  It just took a couple of extra days and they did a great job.

A plumbing pipe burst in my house and damaged my ceiling and wall.  Tyler and his crew were great and repaired all the damage like new.  Serina was super nice and worked with me on the billing process and handled all the invoicing very quickly, making sure to work with my insurance.  Although no one wants a water disaster at their house, Gurr Brothers made the process as painless as possible.  I highly recommend them!

I did not have a positive experience at all with Gurr Brothers. I had a water damage issue in my home that involved two levels of needed repairs. They were recommended by a local restoration company that uses them for the rebuild.
Someone showed up promptly for a walkthrough and a quote was provided to me and my insurance company a few days later. The insurance company approved it shortly after. So far, so good. An appointment was set up to begin the rebuild. They were a no show. A second appointment was set up. They were a no show. Neither time did they give me a phone call or email to tell me about it. They had a down payment from me and I was told that they would reverse the charge when I called and said I was pulling the contract for their lack of response . That never happened. I had to call my credit card company to have the charge put on hold and then the credit card company's fraud department had to do all the leg work to get them to finally release the funds back. This wasn't a small job where in the past I have been passed over because the contractor found a better opportunity elsewhere. This was simply a poorly run organization. Fortunately, I found a responsive contractor and the repairs were made in a timely fashion without all the headache.

My basement flooded and they showed up.  Guess it's part of the Doan group when you call for water help. Started out ok. There were so many people it was hard to keep track of where these people were coming from. I only called Doan. The rest of them just show up.   They packed out my things are the water was removed.  I can't say I was impressed.  I bought all the plastic tubs to get my things out of the basement. they didn't pack things together. 1 example: my tv still doesn't have the cables/cords or remote controls. I saw this happening and told Ethan the items will never get back to each other. He promised they would. Well they have not.  I'm still missing things. I hurt my back and then got covid and more delays trying to find product and people to put the basement back together too way too much time.  While waiting Ethan came back to my house THREE times to say he left someone elses things at my house. I still had not gone thru my tubs they brought back. I just wanted my things at my house.  He went thru EVERYTHING 3 times and couldn't find what he was looking for or what I asked him to find while looking.  I still don't have my things and I am missing things that were in my basement. Ethan implied I had these things when he had full access to everything before I even started unpacking.  My things were packed wet and things were ruined. I still have found tubs with water in them and they went thru my things 3 times. I don't like being accused of their error in recording my things or the other individual that can't find their things either. They have not answered my concerns about the items I am missing or the items they broke. I am still waiting. Be careful; watch them

The Gurr Brothers Team helped us with some major renovations after some issues with our house's pipes. As people who have never gone through the insurance process or done any work to our house, we had no idea what to expect. Our initial plumber helped us through the beginning stages, and then we got to the part where we needed to rebuild our home. I turned to Yelp and saw the amazing photos and reviews of Gurr Brothers and decided to go with them after checking that they were approved by our insurance.

That's when we got connected with Taylor and his team! Everyone we worked with at Gurr Brothers was kind, thoughtful, and respectful when entering our home. They also do some pretty great work. We had our kitchen and bathroom rebuilt by them.

Alex did the tile in our home and went above and beyond trying to help us find more of a tile after we ran out and discovered the tile had since been discontinued after we had purchased it. We also got some new wiring done by their in house electrician and they did an amazing job.

If you've never gone through a home reno project I do have a few tips: Remember to make time to be there for the contractor if you have a specific vision in mind. Keep in mind things will take more time then you think -- especially with COVID! It will be stressful regardless but the finished product is worth it! Taylor was always there to help ease our stresses -- we'd give him a ring often during the process. He was a great go to and just an overall great person.

We had quite extensive water damage in our house, the demolition company came and demolished a lot of things (as they should) and Gurr Brothers did a great job on the reconstruction. They've been very patient with all our requests and very professional in completing all the works. They made everything like it was before. Thanks Gurr Brothers!

If I could rate this company no stars I would.  

Our experience has been super disappointing especially when they were recommended.  

They came out Tuesday of last week advised they'd have a quote to us by EOD.  Nothing - called to touch base with them on Friday asking if maybe it was misplaced and was told they get right back to us as their estimator was out ill.  Called again on Monday and LVM with Tracey to see if we could get an idea when to expect details since we are on a tight deadline for hosting a large event in our home.  Again, no response.  

Reviews like this come out when you leave your clients in the dark and when you fail respond after multiple attempts. Companies who are true to their word and respond when they say they will earn out business over and over again regardless of price.  

Gurr Brothers you're officially out... We are no longer interested!

We had  substantial pipe damage and had to have our kitchen ripped apart and rebuilt. These guys communicated very well through the entire process and kept scheduled appointments. The work was all done very well and the attention to detail on the little things to make sure we were happy was most important to me.  While we can't expect everything to be perfect every time in life, we were really happy that Gurr Brothers went above and beyond to make sure an item was redone at their expense because it was less than perfect. That was very admirable - a trait you don't see enough in business these days.

I would gladly recommend them for your project. Honestly and integrity are hard to find.

I absolutely cannot recommend Gurr Brothers. We had water damage from a broken pipe in-between a wall shared by our Laundry Room, Master Bathroom and Walk-In Closet. Gurr Brothers was referred to us by the remediation company as one of their partners. To be respectful, I'll leave the names out - The project superintendent made his first visit and tentatively quoted us 2-3 weeks for all 3 rooms to be back to 100%. 3 months and 1 week later the reconstruction/remodel is complete.

Every step of reconstruction was laden with communication problems and poor measurements. Some examples: The tile floor was measured wrong, and we had to add additional time to completing the floor. The floor installers were also not instructed to complete the baseboard installation. Once another team was scheduled for the baseboards, they were given instructions to complete 1 of the 3 rooms, requiring a 3rd team to be scheduled.
The painter wasn't told that we decided to change colors, and had already picked it out - cut a sizable hole in the drywall to color match the old color. This hole required an additional visit to patch.
The drywall repair in the laundry room decided not to move pipes, missing a 6inch by 2inch section of the wall with both drywall and paint. This required another visit to remedy.
Initially we decided to rebuild our existing vanity. 3 weeks into what we thought was a vanity being built, we were told that they decided to replace it with a new vanity. They mis-matched the color, making the mirror and sink red and brown respectively. They also mis-measured, making our granite countertop and wide sink not fit the new cabinet they JUST installed. After they removed the 'new' vanity they decided again to rebuild the old one, with the superintendent forgetting to deliver the drawers and drawer slides to the cabinet builder.
The vanity was measured wrong. The floorboards were measured wrong. Paint was subpar. Drywall was half-assed. Every step of this process had some type of scheduling, communication or measuring issue that I would not expect a professional to make, let alone repeatedly. And finally (but not lastly, unfortunately) every call I made to the project superintendent was met with a full voicemail box, but NEVER a return call.

I had a plumbing leak under my slab in my living room.  After the leak was fixed, I had water damage to most of my hardwood floors.  I contracted with Gurr Brothers to replace the old floors and replace them with vinyl planking.  I could not be happier with the work that was performed.  Specifically, the two workers from Gurr Brothers, Earl Hines and Vic Fundora, did a fantastic job.  They answered all my questions and were a pleasure to work with, very professional.  I would definitely use this company again.

They where recommended by our Insurance broker and where timely and efficient. Showed up when they said they where, and did excellent work, you would never guess that we had water damage and had to have portions of drywall replaced, textured and painted.

Almost a year into a flood restoration project and still not completed. Take my advice and stay far away from this company! They tell you what you want to hear and then don't deliver. They never applied for a construction permit and when caught (because they kept leaving front door unlocked and it blew open) took at least six weeks to get a permit. Their latest stunt is their revised timeline is now two to three weeks late, after I booked a flight with their promise all would be ready for us to settle back in. Very unprofessional company!

Gurr Brothers did beautiful work rebuilding my kitchen after an unfortunate water damage incident under my kitchen sink.  They re-built my kitchen cabinetry and made them look absolutely identical to the original cabinets; the end-piece of my cabinets actually looked better than before.  I will now always call Gurr Brothers' plumber, Don and electrician, Jake, who both helped get the job done - they were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and amazing at their jobs.  Sam managed my project and he went above and beyond to make sure everything got done correctly and any issues were promptly addressed.  I will definitely call them again for my next project.

Gurr Brothers has done a decent job repairing issues caused by our flooded sink area...though not completed yet. There was some miscommunication: some items didn't get resolved as discussed, such as refinishing the exterior of the cabinet doors. Also, our issue occurred in October and it is only now, February, that the repairs are being addressed and taken care of. This may not have been totally Gurr Brothers' fault as they were booked solid leading up to Christmas and beyond with pre-scheduled jobs.

Despite some of these problems, certain individuals at Gurr Brothers have been particularly helpful. A young man named Ivan did an incredible job with his portion of the plumbing area and the painting of the kitchen and family room. He was extremely nice, conscientious and meticulous in his work. His assistant, Andrew, also did a nice job with his share of the painting and furniture-moving. Erin, who is the point person for setting up repair schedules, has also been a great help, as was Bradley, who originally came out to provide an estimate for the repairs.

We just want this done and over with so we can have our sink area back to normal!

I loved working with Gurr Brothers Construction! My project manager was Bradley. He was professional, responsive, personable and kept me informed at all times. He even came out to the property several times personally to check on his crews and on the progress of the job as well as to make sure that the quality of repairs was up to his standards! Gurr Brothers did a great job on our roof repairs. They were fast, effective and responsive. Their work is high quality! And they have a great warranty. I loved working with the roofing superintendent Sam. He is very personable and makes sure that you are kept in the loop. Rachael in the office was able to keep on top of any paperwork needed and was able to update me as well. I would definitely use them again! And recommend them to everyone I know!!

This should be pretty straightforward.
We discovered water damage to our kitchen and needed a company to rebuild it after it was torn down by mitigation team. Gurr was one of the companies we contacted. Initially, they were pretty responsive, and sent someone out pretty quickly. After that however....nothing happened. We followed up to ask about the estimate, but... nothing happened. We were promised it would be sent, but.... nothing happened.
It's now been nearly 2 months, the insurance claim is resolved, and we're ready to rebuild. We won't be using Gurr because we never got a quote from them at all. I assume they're just that busy, but it would have been nice to know that they lost interest in the job... or whatever happened.

Called them for a quote.  Quick response, and great communication.  The tech they sent was pretty nice.  That said,this was our 4th and final quote.  They were 1,300 bucks higher then the 3rd highest quote.  They were 2,100 bucks higher then the lowest quote we received.  I can't speak for their work, but I'd definately recommend that you get several quotes....

Gurr Brothers turned my decrepit carport into a contemporary two car garage in about two months. Sam and his team of tradesmen were a pleasure to work with. I look forward to the next project with Gurr.

My house flooded and it was a straight up nightmare. Sam was helpful and walked my husband and I through every aspect of every stage. The quality of work was wonderful. Our floors are immaculate. I would definitely consider using them for any future jobs.

Had to get new flooring and some misc repairs from a water heater leak. We were well taken care of from the start by Gurr Bros. Communication was excellent. Our repairs were prioritized and we're happy with the result. Before and after photo of one of the rooms attached, the before is sort of a during because we had to tear up our floors asap in order to dry out the flooded area.

I highley recommend this company.My water heater exploded and ruined alot of my house but, Tayler Rundle was there to the rescue extremely professional and friendly he helped me understand everything that was going on in my house answered every question I had. They worked directly with my insurance and explained all my options.  I recommend this place and definitely ask for Tayler he will take care of you and your family...he will treat you as family.

I just want to say how amazing Gurr Brothers are.  They have been called out to fix my house up after 2 floods. Each time everyone that i have came in contact with have been friendly, helpful, professional and polite. Their work is amazing and everyone is great at what they do. Martian is very friendly and makes sure everything gets scheduled and handled in a timely manner. Everyone works well as a team and organizing the whole project. I am very impressed. They made sure everything was just how we liked it. They were fast but efficient. Everyone one did an excellent job. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

I needed to have my tile roof replaced and found Gurr Brothers through BuildZoom.com (a free website for contractor recommendations). They sent over a quote and followed up with a phone call to see if I had any questions which gave me the opportunity to ask about different options and pricing levels.

Sam and Rebecca were very responsive and kept the project moving. They went above and beyond their quote by using 2 layers of underlayment instead of one and replaced a couple of places on the eaves that were not part of the original quote for no charge and I really appreciated those extras. The crew was very respectful and cleaned up the worksite at the end of each day.

All in all, a good experience and I will keep them in mind for future projects.

I must give kudos where it's due with contractors! I'm usually skeptical & very cautious with dealings. I HATE chasing down people & getting stabby with them but I will. My water heater had a slow leak & caused some sweet water damage to my garage drywall & inside my master closet wall/carpet! Edge Restoration dried it out & sent Gurr Brothers Construction to repair my drywall & replace the carpet. It was a seamless process throughout. Sam from Gurr Brothers showed up, kept me in the loop of when & who to expect @ my house & stayed in constant communication of plumbing, drywall & carpet people that were dropping by. Although a bit of a nightmare to have your houses gutted for a while?!? I couldn't be more impressed with the way it was handled & for them to deal with my Homeowner's Insurance too. Thanks Sam Matei!

We had hail and wind damage to our home causing us to need a new roof. We called Gurr Brothers and they made the process super easy. I was extremely impressed that it only took two days to complete our roof once our tiles came in. The office staff was very friendly to talk to, even when I was flustered due to the the incident itself, not them, they were still sweet to me and let me know I could call at any time for any help I might need. I will be recommending them to any I know that needs a good construction company! Thank you Gurr Brothers for your excellent customer service and quick work!

I had Gurr Brothers Construction,  who was referred to me by another contractor, complete some repairs on one of my properties after a small roof leak. Being out-of-state, I relied on photos and feedback from the tenant. Bradley was the superintendent on the job and he was able to complete everything smoothly, professionally and effectively. Once the job was completed, I was sent photos of the work.   Both Bradley and Rachael in the office were able to work together as a team and keep both the tenant and myself fully informed. I would definitely recommend Gurr Brothers to others and contract with them again!

There were a couple things they forgot to do (like finishing installing some final touch items and cleaning up), but they made up for it by being professional and having more people sent out until I was satisfied.  Everyone who came to my house was nice and did good work.

Matt possesses all the attributes necessary to be an excellent contractor: he knows his market extremely well; he is diligent, responsive, and yet very understanding with his clients. Matt is very professional and offers cost saving alternatives when possible. I've worked with him in many projects and customers are always pleased.

Just wanted to note my appreciation for the Gurr Brothers Construction employee or owner that treated me to my lunch at the drive-thro at Chick-Fil-A (Dobson Riverview) earlier today while trying to grab food before my next call & before it got too busy. Needed complete restoration/remodel of entire first floor after burst pipe flooded everything.  Had tile flooring, cabinetry and drywall done, as well as redoing a leaky roof.  Every person who came to work on my house polite, professional and did absolutely beautiful work.  They exceeded my expectations.

Professional company and professional work done by a company that cares about craftsmanship. It was obvious these guys loved what they do. The bid process was very easy and they always showed up when they said they would. Explained things very well and timelines were met. Communication was on point and that meant a lot to me and my busy schedule. So happy with my remodel and the entire experience. So glad I was referred to them.

We had a leak from the bottom of my water heater which is in our garage. That leak damaged the surrounding structures. We hired Gurr Brothers, Kitchen & Bath plumbing, and Salt River Restoration. All of thee guys were great!!! Gurr Brothers repaired our wall and replaced  our cabinets very quickly and efficiently. The work done was outstanding!!! We were so pleased with how friendly and knowledgeable they were. We definitely recommend contracting Gurr Brothers!!!

I had some large holes in a bedroom wall and I contacted Matt H. and he told me he would have someone out that week to take care of it! Matt told me he spoke to the drywall people and told them to take very good care of me as if I was their family and that's exactly what they did!!! They were at my house on time and completed the repair (while having to run out and get paint matched) in a very reasonable amount of time!! The repair itself is flawless, I can't even tell there was ever a hole there!! Thank you!!

Cannot say enough great things about Sam and Martin!  Extremely professional and courteous, their painters did a fabulous job, their roofers did a wonderful job, and they never hesitated to help me out along the way, as we discovered new issues with the house. I never felt alone or ignored - to the contrary!  Extremely helpful and always attentive to great customer service.  Prices are very reasonable! Highly, highly recommend!

So great! They were prompt, professional and meticulous. Ecodry came and ripped out my walls and left me to hang for 3 weeks before even contacting me to schedule a rebuild (for over a week out). Gurr brothers were out there in a matter of two days and did a fantastic job. Could not recommend them more!
