HISTORY
Established in 2015.
Deadwood Craftsman was established in 2015 by Caleb and Andrea. Caleb had worked in the lumber/door/cabinet industry for 10 years and was ready to pursue his dream. One night in September of 2015 Andrea created a Facebook page to show off some of his projects. Within a week it was clear there was a demand for custom woodworking and together they launched the company. It took less than a year for Caleb to outgrow his residential garage, and he moved to a small shop downtown. He quickly outgrew that space and landed at his current location just over two years ago. Caleb is known for highly unique custom jobs and is excellent at translating your vision into reality, which is a driver behind his word of mouth referrals.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
Caleb has lived in the Phoenix and Tempe area since the early 90s. An Ohio native, born in the Toledo area and is an avid Michigan fan. If you go far enough back in time there was a land war so technically he was born on Michigan land. That being said, Caleb goes against the grain, and isn't afraid to try something new or learn a new skill. Although he has over a decade of experience in the lumber and cabinet industry, much of the work he does today is self taught. Caleb takes every opportunity to absorb knowledge from seasoned woodworkers when he can. He strives for perfection in his work and refuses to close out a job until it's done right. He is extremely knowledgeable of wood species, and how to work with a variety of surfaces
Outside of his small business he spends time with his wife (and co-owner) and their children. Although the garage is no longer his shop, he still manages to complete custom woodworking projects at home in his spare time.
