Cactus Curbing and Landscaping

What a great experience!  First was the estimate - which consisted of a methodical walk-through of the areas to be paved.  Albert has a great eye and asked very thoughtful, insightful questions.  We had old pavers that needed replacing, and new areas that were challenging.  The old pavers actually directed water towards the foundation of the house, and the new ones were in an area where drainage is a challenge.  Prior to paving, we'd had a sump pump installed in the backyard to help mitigate some of those issues, and there is an entire line of drains that run the length of the back patio that needed pavers around them, but done so with an eye for making sure everything drains where it needs to go.  Albert 'got it' - all of it.  He looked around and noticed every area of concern without prompting.  This was the only company we received a bid from that wasn't trying to do the fastest, cheapest job.  We didn't just want to slap new pavers over some dirt, we were looking for considerable re-grading, and a new installation that wouldn't quickly grow to look like the old one.  That said, the estimate was only slightly more than the competition.  The estimate itself was the most professional one I've ever seen, and we've remodeled 3 houses.  I sincerely appreciate how detailed and thorough it was.  

Albert also quickly grasped the aesthetic we were looking for and had some nice suggestions for which pavers we might like, as well as alternatives when our first choice was out of stock. Scheduling worked out great.  The crew showed up promptly, and before anything started, Albert walked through the site with me and confirmed everything that was happening.  No surprises for anyone - I think that might be a first.  After the walk-through work started, and lasted the exact amount of time we were told.  The whole crew worked together like a well-oiled machine.  Delivery of materials was smooth, removal of materials was smooth, and these guys are really organized in their approach. The crew removed a lot of extra dirt, dug out some gnarly old tree roots, and dug a bunch of old gravel out from around our pool area without getting the pool full of rocks or dirt.  There was some irrigation line added, and some unexpected mysteries solved with some old irrigation line.  All discoveries were taken in stride, and the end configuration is a massive improvement. They are impressive on every level.  The pavers that they cut around the drains and the sump basin are a bona fide work of art.  That took a lot of craftsmanship.  

The results were everything I could have hoped for.  The place looks amazing!  However, even better - we've just had days of rain, and all the water is not settled by the foundation or pooled in the backyard.  Everything is draining where it's supposed to go, and it looks great in addition to functioning perfectly!  

I cannot recommend this company highly enough.  When we are ready to do the front, I know exactly who we will be calling.

Highly recommend Albert and his crew.  Appreciated his responsiveness (noted as many other outfits never responded to requests).  We had a small job, but he and his team approached it as if it were a project for a luxury home.  We needed to have old patio taken out, the ground levelled properly (not done the first time), and a new patio installed.  They also added a cement sidewalk for ease in bringing garbage to the street.  We are so happy with the results!

I wish we had more projects!!!

I had Cactus Curbing come out to install curbing where I previously had brick pavers that were 20 years old.  I'm extremely pleased with how good the new curbing looks - I picked the mower's edge curbing which is nice around a grass area.  

The men at Cactus Curbing sure know what they're doing.  I was watching them use the curbing machine and it was obvious to me that their years of experience is what makes the final product so nice.

Lastly, I want to say that I was very pleased with the price.  It was really less than I had expected.

Albert and his team did a great job on our lawn. I've been saving and planning for almost a year and have seen about 10 different companies to get a quote. I won't list them all here but Albert's quote was the second best only a few hundred dollars and since he could do both concrete and landscape it was actually a savings vs using two different companies. He worked with us on the estimate so that we came in close to budget. He answered my millions of questions and it didn't seem like I was bothering him. Things went pretty smoothly and the things that weren't 100% were because I didn't know what I didn't know, if that makes sense. Knowing what I do now I'd make a few more changes but the cost would have probably increased so maybe I would have left things as they were. I'm happy to answer anyone's questions about them! We were very happy with the work Guillermo's crew did on our sidewalk and driveway. Took out our concrete driveway & sidewalk, and widened both. Whole job took 2.5 days. Great job, highly recommend.

Albert and his hard working Cactus Curbing team turned our backyard (which used to be an eyesore) into an asset, with their custom curbing framing an expanded grass area with new sod and a 4 foot planter all around the yard with new plants. The yard now looks beautiful and we love it!  Communication with Albert was great throughout the whole process, his team worked efficiently and listened to our input, and the job was completed within the time frame requested.  Albert then fine tuned our new irrigation system and made sure everything was left clean.  We're very pleased with their work and would definitely recommend them!

Absolutely give Albert the opportunity to bid your next landscaping job.  His price was the most competitive of the five I got.  He and his team were punctual, professional, had great communication and did a fantastic job laying travertine pavers for our front/rear patio.  What I really appreciated was Albert not only provided the quote but also did the actual work.  Too many times you get a sales person providing the quote who doesn't know beans about the skill needed to complete the job.  We are extremely happy with the work Albert and his team provided.  It completely changed the look of our entryway and backyard.

We hired Cactus Curbing to do the first phase of our major backyard renovation in September 2019. We knew from the moment we met Albert and Guillermo that they were the crew for the job. Their customer service throughout the entire project was fantastic. They were patient, good listeners, and good communicators. They addressed every question we had and thoroughly explained the process to us. They did grading, drainage, 710 sq ft of pavers, concrete curbing, and artificial grass in our backyard. Everything is holding up beautifully, and we no longer have flooding issues in our backyard thanks to their grading and installation of a gravity drain. I would absolutely work with Albert and Guillermo again and can't recommend them enough.

I cannot say enough good things about Albert and the guys @ cactus curbing. They where able to completely transform our backyard in just 2 days! The entire process was super smooth from quote to completion. Albert was also able to provide helpful suggestions when it came to design that GREATLY appreciated. We contracted them to expand our driveway and replace concrete with pavers. I thought their quote was fair, although quite a few pavers left over when job was complete. Owners friendly and easy to work with. Crew was courteus and efficient. Communication was somewhat lacking, resulting in crew showing up unexpectedly and also in not making sidewalk area wide enough at first. They corrected it however, and we are pleased with the end result.

Cactus curbing did an excellent job putting down a small concrete pad next to our house. They were responsive, reliable, and took a lot of passion in their work. Albert and Guillermo did the job right on schedule and right on budget. Most importantly, they're good guys who work hard to get the job done right. The guys were very organized, thorough and did a great job.  We made a few minor design and plant changes and the guys were very flexible and patient.  As you can see from the pictures the yard turned out beautifully and we'll always have green grass!   We're the envy of the neighbors.

Guillermo and his crew recently did two projects for us: widening our driveway and then pouring a large patio in our backyard. The estimate was reasonable, much less than we expected to pay for so much poured concrete. We had been putting off this project for fear it would be way out of our budget. Guillermo did a complete written estimate for the project that included tear out of the existing landscaping rock and dirt and then pouring the slabs. Excellent attention to detail, very thorough in his work and his follow up if there is an issue is amazing. We would use cactus curbing and landscaping again for our landscaping projects.

This company is a perfect example of a small business that treats their customers fair and honest. I reached out via Yelp to several companies, looking to get a quote on a curbing job in my backyard. I did not want to really speak with anoyone, as it was a pretty straightforward & simple request - what's the cost for a small curb job in a smaller backyard? Yelp unfortunately sent my question out to a myriad of different companies (including a paint company?) and Cactus Landscaping got back to me with exactly what I was looking for. Other companies sought my info to speak, but Cactus gave me the info. I appreciated that aspect immensely and they were the favorite for my service from the start. We scheduled a day to have them come out and they immediately got to work - all via the Yelp app, which made things seemless. The leader on our project, Alberto, was super helpful, as there are apparently a ton of different style & color options for curbing. He suggested some of the popular combinations and we went with his guidance. We even had some leftover feet and he accommodated us and installed the curbing around our tiny aloe garden. Alberto & crew were super friendly, amazingly efficient and the entire project was done in 2 hours. I will be using them again for future service and I plan to recommend them to anyone else that I know that is need of lanscape services.

Alberto and his crew did a fabulous job t our home. They built a retaining wall, installed irrigation and installed artificial turf. The crew was professional, on time, and very helpful. Their price was right on, and they cleaned up as if they had never been there! I would highly recommend them!

These guys were great! Highly recommend them! Guille and Adalberto were recommended from another friend and I'm so glad I listened. They are professional, on time and know their stuff! I was trying to upgrade my entire backyard, called a couple of different places they would not provide any quotes until I tell them exactly what I needed. As soon as I talk to Guille, they came over, told them my idea, they quoted me but also made a few more suggestions based on their knowledge. They did a fantastic job, work was done in a timely manner, they communicated every step of the way, which I appreciated!

I worked with Ricardo Santiago of Cactus Curbing in June 2017 to add brick paver to my backyard.  We had a section of landscape rock and plants in between our pool and house that was wasted space...and restricted our pathway from one side of the yard to the other.  I had worked with Ricardo previously and did not hesitate to contact him for this job.  Ricardo himself is very reliable.  He shows up on time, provides a fair and honest estimate, is not pushy, and offers up helpful suggestions that he feels will improve the job.  Now his crew, wow, they are top notch.  VERY talented at paver work.  Everything is done professionally and no corners are cut.  Good contractors can be hard to come by but Cactus Curbing is amazing.  I highly recommend them!

We had a wonderful experience with Albert and his crew!  We received a professional quote and helpful guidance in determining the scope of our project.  I was directed to Cactus Curbing from the Rock N Roll.  We had a fairly small job, and other curbing companies I contacted were not interested in the size of the job.  We had a firepit area we wanted curbed and rocked, and a trampoline area.  It entailed a few surprises with re-routing some sprinkler heads, but Albert and his crew solved the problem.  The curbing turned out beautiful and they matched the color with the old curbing beautifully.  They were friendly, polite, professional and did excellent work!  We are very happy with Cactus Curbing and would not hesitate to call them again or recommend them to others.

Albert and his brother run a great business.  He came out to give a quote, taking lots of time to understand what we wanted for the yard and give his thoughts on how to make it most attractive.  Their bid came in $1,300 cheaper than the other company!  I recommended the same two companies we had quote on our yard to my in-laws for a quote and they had the same experience.  Cactus Curbing came in WAY less than the other company.  We thought we would give it a try and hope for the best.  We both (us and my in-laws) turned out very happy with our decision.  They ended up doing more in two days to clean up our yard than we could have done in weeks.  They worked hard, made great progress and kept us posted on dates for grass and gravel delivery.  They brought in the equipment necessary (including a little Bobcat to churn up our rock hard soil).  They also went above and beyond in our yard doing some things because they just knew it would look nicer.  We were very pleased with their work and their clean up of the work area and we couldn't be more amazed at the difference in our yard.  We love it and only wish we had done this sooner.  We would heartily recommend this company if you are looking for low cost/high quality work.

We just had Cactus Curbing (Albert: (602) 377-2340) do an amazing complete overhaul of our backyard and some touch ups in the front yard including widening the driveway with pavers. I located them through Angie's List where they had an A grade. Albert came to the house and gave us some excellent landscaping ideas that fit our budget including pavers, curbing, gravel, sod w/ thorough ground prep, quarter minus material for our dog run, and repair/new installation of sprinklers and drip systems. Albert provided me with a fair and detailed estimate in Excel format and made sure we understood each step of our project. The results are amazing and we couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Cactus Curbing.
