AZ Affordable Handyman is a family owned and operated business that will take care of all of your home repair and maintenance needs. William has been in construction his whole life and decided to branch out on his own back in 1994 in California where he and his wife Susana are originally from. They moved to Arizona in 2006 and have built a life as well as a business here in Surprise. Our goal is to maintain working relationships with our customers so that AZ Affordable Handyman can be their handyman of choice.

Hello! My name is William Burgeson. Our promise to our customers is to get the job done on time, do it right the first time, and to offer prices that I know is affordable and fair.

Our goal as a handyman is to keep every customer coming back as a repeat customer and to build a long lasting relationship with them because, in this business that is all that really matters. I do whatever it takes to make my customers happy and I think that is what sets me apart from all the rest.

William and his Wife Susana pride themselves on making the customer feel comfortable and 100% satisfied with the customer service they receive and with the workmanship that is performed. You will often see Susana working from their truck and helping out on the job. She often shows up to make the customer feel at ease. Let's face it, home repairs can be very stressful. From unexpected costs, damage to your home and simply having a stranger in your home. They make an awesome team!

We just had a tech come by to fix some electrical stuff and light fixtures in our home. He was nice, efficient, and everything works! A+ for Nick D! Plus it really was affordable compared to other companies.

I would've given them five stars, but they changed our appointment the day before which is tough for my husband and I since we work so much. Still, an overall good experience and we will use them again for other projects around the house.

I used them once, afterward I met many nice people. My insurance agent, a service company that mitigated and made the repairs, and a plummer to redo the work they did that caused the damage.
I truly hate to write such a review. I received a letter from my insurance company which stated that Affordable Handyman hasn't responded to them.
If you use them, keep in mind that a licence and bonding are good things.

I had a appointment with this company today and he never showed up and never called me. I waited for him all day. Not very dependable. I had to leave one star. If I could it would be a big fat 0.

Started bad and ended with police being called. If only zero stars was an option.... We hired this company to come in and help patch some holes in our walls and ceilings after installing a couple ceiling fans and new switches. Our appointment was a 2-4 pm window. They showed up after 5 pm. My husband put out the paint color for the walls. The guy painted the ceilings the same color as the wall - an obvious darker color. He did this in two rooms. He didn't get the walls covered entirely. He got paint on our floors, carpet, ceiling wood beam (not painted), and our brand new ceiling fan in the nursery. The only thing done decent is the patchwork. Other than that, the house is in worse condition now than before he got here. At one point he was walking around our home barefoot and wet (we can't explain this as we don't know what that was about). After my husband noticed the ceiling color discrepancy he asked the guy about it. He started packing his stuff up to leave. Told my husband that we could fix it ourselves. My husband disputed the cost he wanted to charge (as the work sucked) and the man started yelling at my husband! My husband came inside to ask me to call the police because he was afraid this man would get violent with him as he was getting into his face screaming at my husband. At this point some woman who had been sitting in the car all this time, we guess, jumps out and starts screaming at my husband about how they didn't do a bad job (she never was in our home). We contacted the police and made a report due to the threat of violence. We have also filed a complaint against them with the BBB. I would save yourself the misery and hire anyone else. Definitely worst experience ever.

Very friendly and fast service. We had our tub door installed by Calvin. He was prompt, clean and did a great job. Would definitely recommend AZ Affordable Handyman in Surprise.

The Affordable Handyman is very knowledgeable, hard working, and extremely helpful. However I had some work done to the interior of my house and I felt that little to no care was taken to ensure my house was taken care of. For example he drilled from one wall through the other "accidentally," he scuffed my new entertainment center, scratched the tile with his dolly, nicked my door frame, and with a tool shredded my smart TV cable. He did the job well, in a timely manner. I would recommend him to anyone as long as care is taken in future jobs.

Recently, I needed a handyman to perform a few tasks around my home that I couldn't do myself because I'm partially disabled and limited to specific activities. After some careful research I was very fortunate to find AZ Affordable Handyman in Surprise, Arizona. When I called I was greeted by William's very pleasant wife Suzanna who efficiently scheduled a service call according to my schedule. William and Ron performed all of the tasks I needed done in a very timely manner. Both of them possess an excellent knowledge of handyman type work and have a highly diversified skill set. Their workmanship is definitely quality focused and their services are reasonably priced. I will definitely use them again in the future. I strongly recommend them to others. Call them today.

I had an appointment to have work done on Monday and received a call the handyman was ill. The appointment was scheduled for Tuesday. I stayed home all day and no one came. I called several times and left messages trying to find out status. I called Wednesday morning and was told the handyman has a medical issue and could not make the appointment Tuesday. The appointment is as scheduled for Thursday and again a no show. I called and the handyman answered the phone. Again, he explained his medical issue and I told him I deserved a phone call that he wasn't going to make the appointment. He told me he is on pain medication and I told him I understand illness but no showing up and not a simple phone call to me was making excuses. Never use this company because they will string you along. This company was referred by a family member who used them. They had a good experience while mine was the polar opposite. I'm now trying to find another vendor to do the work and I've wasted a week.

I hired these jokers because of a friend of mine, worst mistake I've made in a while.
They showed up 2 hours late, chewing dip and looking like bums; for the first job I hired them for....building some shelves in my wife's walk in closet. They took almost 8 hours to install and paint them, and didn't even paint the whole set, they left one side completely bare....when I asked why, the answer was " I didn't think you needed it painted"! They STILL charged my $700.00
for shoddy work and being late. After speaking with Will (the owner) he became extremely upset and argued with me about what he thought was fair, he DOES NOT take criticism well.
Sadly, I asked them to come out again two days ago, after my friend asked me to give them a second chance. I specifically asked if they had anyone able to look at/possibly fix a thermostat, I recieved an affirmative response. Same story here, they changed the time to come out to my house to their convenience, and when the worker showed up, he tells me he does't know how to fix thermostats, and I should call someone else.
WTF!! Then he charges me $165.00 for a "service call" with no damn service! (on a side note, he thought service calls were $110, but evidently Will wanted me to pay $165). Once again I contacted Will and asked how he thought this was in any way fair as his brochure AND website say that they do free estimates. He once again turned into an irate jerk, told me to stop texting him and that we "weren't a good fit". I agreed and just put a stop payment on the check I wrote as I really don't think they are honest enough to not cash it for zero work. The friend who refered me has also started having problems with this company, specifically the owner Will. and also agrees that he does not take any type of disagreement from his clients. I wouldn't even trust these guys to put togther IKEA furniture.

I took a huge risk by using a company that was not recommended by anyone I knew...but, after speaking to Will and asked questions, I felt confident that they were the right people for the job I had. They arrived exactly on schedule, and accomplished everything I requested perfectly. Very professional and considerate!!!

I had a great experience with this company this week. I had two handymen install 3 light fixturess and a ceiling fan. The guys were on time, friendly and even gave me some great tips. I will definitely call them again for future home improvement projects.

May 2014 I hired AZ Handyman to replace two master bath faucets. Well he came in a car and carried his tools in his hands not even a tool belt or box. The keys were frozen in the master so instead of shutting the main in the street because he cMe with no key the main at the house was frozen also. He proceeded to remove the hoses and water all over the bathroom. He took towels off the walls that were not to be used for water just show towels then in the linen closet he took another 12 large towels trying to clean up the flood. Then Someone showed up with the key for the main. Then he proceeds to take the faucets out and it was like I was knocking the bathroom out..OMG... Then he installs the faucets and I paid 180 per faucet and he did not care he put them in crooked and one faucet is loose. The handles do not match and he got paid cash and walked out. I cleaned up all the water he left in the master wet rugs it was the worse. Then I noticed the crooked handles and the loose faucet in one of the sinks. I proceeded to wash all the towels and clean up... Then I went outside to see what he did he stepped on all of my shrubs breaking branches and cracking them right off. Now I'm heated and text him ASAP the problems at hand. He did not respond ... The next day I text him and he did not answer finally I text him that he will never work here again and it was more about the money and not the customer service or doing the job correctly. Then later in the day he texts me and says I will fixit the keys that are miss matched. I just said never again so he replies when I said never again figures.. He was on the phone all the while when he was here and walked on the new master bedroom rug with his dirty wet boots now I have to have the rug steam cleaned. Please look for another handyman as this one is more destructive and does not do the job right for the amount you pay him.. I would never never recommended him to anyone ... Unless u don't care about your home and want more destruction to your personal property that he has no regard for..

All you can ask is that a handyman is straight up with their prices, say what they are going to do and when they are going to do it and then they do it like they say. I got the Groupon for this company and I'm glad I did.
