Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions

bought a phantom screen door for our French doors back in 2004.  had them come put and service them only twice, they serviced them and replaced the screens.  this last time Chris came out and did the service and did a fantastic job!  like new again!  highly recommend!  thank you!

It's been a great disappointment working with this company.  Problems include waiting weeks for service, huge increases in service fees, and no warranties on screens.  Avoid this business, there are much better options in the valley.

BUYER BEWARE, Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions is a distributor for a Canadian Company, Phantom Screens.   Their website sates that they have the Best warranty in the business, however, this is completely false.  They do not warranty their mesh screen component of their retractable screens, while local competitors have a 10 year warranty on their mesh screens.  I spent thousands of dollars purchasing 3 retractable screens from Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions and the 2 smaller ones have had constant issues.   I have come to find out there is a design flaw in the smaller screens, which neither the manufacturer, Phantom Screens, nor the distributor, Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions will address.   I had one of our screens serviced a little over a year ago by the owner of Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions, after which the screen was very wrinkled and never functioned properly.   That same screen has now torn from its zipper, and I was told by Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions that the mesh screen needs replacement; and there is No warranty on the mesh screen component.  I received a mesh screen replacement quote where the cost to replace the mesh screen was nearly as much as the entire original unit cost.  Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions has recently raised their service charge fee from $95 to $195, an over 100% increase in 1 year.   Other competitors charge a service fee around $75.  I have expressed my disappointment to both Phantom Screens, the manufacturer, and Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions, about the lack of warranty and excessive price increases.   Phantom Screens informed me that they have no control over the prices charged by Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions.  The worst part is that Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions is the One and Only distributor in Arizona, meaning that you Cannot get parts or your screen fixed by anyone else  . . .it is a service and parts monopoly allowing Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions to charge any fee.  To date, I have never received a phone call from the owner of Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions to address my grievances.  Instead, I received an ultimatum from his staff with a revised mesh screen replacement quote, stating that if I want my screen fixed, I must sign a document that I understand the Mesh, Motor and Labor are no longer covered under warranty and A service call fee of $195 + parts (subject to change) will apply to any future service requests regardless of the issue.    So much for their Best warranty in the business . . . What a joke.  

Do yourself a favor and look on yelp for companies that have numerous good reviews and warranty their mesh screens, as both the manufacturer, Phantom Screens and the sole Arizona distributor, Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions, do not warranty their mesh screens and do not stand behind their products.  The customer service at both Phantom Screens and Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions has been abysmal.  

Do yourself another favor and purchase your screens from a company that has a good warranty, good customer service and appreciates their customers  . . . as it is Not the case with the manufacturer, Phantom Screens nor their sole Arizona distributor, Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions!

I would give ZERO STARS to both Phantom Screens and Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions!   There are much better options!

Had a great experience with Phantom Screens! They were very knowledgeable, nice, reasonably priced, and we love our new screen doors!

The home we bought had retractable Phantom screens on the doors - a great feature - but, alas, they had fallen into disrepair. This company was very professional and reasonably-priced. They sent a representative out to estimate and later to do the service. We've been thrilled with the results, particularly when we thought that there surely could be no way to fix the turmoil that once plagued our screens!

Al (the supposed owner) came out and gave us an estimate for $2000 to do two single sliders and one double slider.  Either during the installation or during the sale, Al or someone from his company told me that service for any issue will be resolved in 24-48hrs.  I wrote that on the estimate.  One of the doors (which quite frankly it must cost about 50 bucks in materials for these phantom screens) was not shutting properly.  It was always giving us a little trouble since the beginning and it finally would not latch at all.  I called Arizona Retractable Screen Solutions and when I asked when someone can come out and fix, they said they are booked and it would not be for 11 days.  When I asked why not 24-48 hours like I was told, I was basically called a liar and that I must have been mistaken because AL the owner wouldn't have promised that.   This fix would probably take about 5 mins, I am assuming, but now we have to wait 11 days for us to be able to use our screen door during the nicest weather of the year.  Beware of what this company says, and the concept of Phantom Screens is nice, but they are not made very durable.   We thought because of the price they would be.

We are only at the estimate stage but I can tell you we were very pleased with that service.  Quick appointment, arrived on time, and provided a lot of very good information about the product, potential install, and warranty.  Also gave very good advise on things related to the screens with the existing doors.

Had 2 motorized screens installed in July 2016 for $6000.00!! In November with all the rain the screens shorted out. It took several calls to get them to come out here. They replaced the circuit breaker. The house is only 2 years old. The fuse blew again 2 hours after he left. Finally, Al Hoffman (the owner came out) and found out that a screw was drilled into the wires. It was completely black charred. Good thing my house didn't burn down. Now I have water seeping inside the screens when it rains. Al refused to come out and seal the top of the motor. Talks over you and extremely horrible customer service. Do not use this company!!!

Auntie's Reviews has some wise advice for anyone who is considering this business, Stay Away! Although the product, Phantom Screens is generally good,  albeit expensive, Auntie had a terrible experience with this particular franchise. They charged $1,400. for two screen doors, did an inferior and in Auntie's opinion, dangerous installation leaving a knife sharp open gap on the runner-perfect for a child to lose a finger or toe- and then refused to fix it!  On top of that, the manager seems to have anger issues. Auntie recommends some chemical intervention.
