Nick and Julian texted communicated really well with us, said they were coming in the 9 to 12 range it was more about 10 o'clock which we appreciate very much.
Young bright souls who enjoy the job and the Roman Electric group.
Yes, we recommend in Milwaukee.

Called Roman Electric to have a service on my Generator, tech came out to perform a tune-up, as firing the generator , started leaking out fluid.  To find out there is a crack. whole generator needs replacing, but now that I had missed one of my yearly tune-ups. My warranty is void.. Ok, but lets all think back when the Coronavirus was going on, I even stayed away from my family.. These Companies all want your money, Roman sure did over $10,000.. Company comes back with a offer,$6,000 replaced new one...I have to pay.. Beware who you deal with.

Used Romen electric last year for some plumbing and electrical work the electrical was ok BUT plumbing was a different story .I should of know as soon he walked in this plumber had a Very arrogant attitude .first thing he had is helper plug in is batteries you would think he would ask first no no nothing. I feel the Price of the job was way out of line also he was very unfriendly .

Contacted Roman because my under cabinet lights stopped working. They came out took measurements and provided a quote for LED replacement in April, schedule work to be done in mid May. On the day on the scheduled install after a confirmation email and text, The electrician was 1 1/2 late with no call from electrician or customer service. Showed me the units to be installed and started to remove old ones.

About 30 minutes after she started she told me that she didn't take good notes and measured wrong and would need to get new units. 90 minutes later, so 4 pm for a scheduled 9-12 she was ready to start. But the new units were plug in not hard wired and didn't have the same USB port or light color as I was originally shown. I stopped the work and called customer service.  They offered a new appoint with another electrician the next day between 10-2.

On Wednesday at 8am the original electrician called to say she was on the way and now had the right supplies. I said the appointment is 10-2 and I asked for a new electrician. Her response but I'm available now, and I'm the best one to do the job.

I called the office and talked to a supervisor,  recounted the whole thing and got I don't have the history or the details but there are three options take the original electrician now ; wait 13 days for my best electrician ; part ways here. To make it worse they email mail me an invoice for the work that was NEVER done and they took my old transformer.

I guess what they show in their commercials is not what you get in reality. Should have checked here first 2 1/2 stars is generous.

We used Roman Electric years ago for some work installing ceiling fans. The experience was overall great. The end result was top-notch.

Taking the time to write a review now that we've used them again recently. This past Sunday, our sewer drain started backing up. That's never something that gives you the warm fuzzies. Even though it went back down soon after, we didn't feel safe using any water thereafter so we called for emergency plumbing service.

Went with Roman given overall high reviews on multiple social media outlets (Yelp being the exception with a lower star rating overall!). Got a call back in less than an hour. An hour after that, a gentleman named Steve came to deal with the problem.

Roman couldn't have been clearer up front that just coming out on a Sunday has the high emergency rate. On a couple occasions they made sure we clearly understood that. But we needed the work done ASAP.

Steve took care of the problem within an hour or so, and was very explanatory the whole time. Overall, he thoroughly cleaned out the drain and pipes.

We're having him come back in a couple weeks to replace our old leaky stone sink in the basement.

Overall, great experience and we'll continue to use them!

Updating my previous review, which, mostly, commented that they were expensive. I'm adding incompetent and indifferent to their downsides.

So after my $500 3-foot electrical outlet move and conversion (replacing a stove plug with a dryer plug), the dryer people came back to finish install the dryer. THEY INFORMED ME THAT ROMAN HAD INSTALLED A STOVE/RANGE PLUG AND THEY COULD NOT INSTALL THE DRYER.

I told them this was a dryer install. The new dryer was sitting there, next to the plug install  (the Roman electricians even checked it to make sure they had the right amp breaker)  with the DRYER plug sitting there. (I should have checked before they left---it never occurred to me that they would install the wrong plug.)

So I called Roman; they admitted no error, and said a electrician would be by in (this was Friday, they said Monday earliest---had been dryerless for a week) two days to take a look. Would not commit to sooner or guarantee no charge for the correction.

So I finally gave up and hired an electrician (from Nelco Electric, I'll do a more positive of them review later) who was out within two hours, changed the plug and properly sleeved the electrical wire to the outlet.

The Nelco electrician, while reluctant to throw his union brothers under the bus, that he, probably, could have done a proper complete install for $250-$300. (He only charged me $200 for the emergency visit.)

So Roman has $500 of my money, for shoddy, incorrect, work, and I'm out $700 for a range to dryer plug conversion.

I highly recommend you avoid this, incompetent, expensive, and indifferent company.

Update - We had another issue with what was installed by Roman.  We had an electrician look at an outlet and it was again installed incorrectly by Roman and needed to be fixed.

I seldom write one star reviews but after several issues years later this is ridiculous.  Nobody ever reached out to me after my 2018 review and I doubt anybody will contact me to listen to my concerns again.

Should be more upfront about the costs. I was told $49 for travel and evaluation. Then I was told a diagnostic of $100 from the technician. I asked very directly on the phone and was told $49 and then I'd be told how much to fix the problem. I will not use or recommend again.  The technician was very nice.  Problem was a $7 switch and they wanted $227 to fix - I said no.

2nd Update: more than a week later and still no return phone call. They have my money and obviuy that was their one y concern.  This shows they absolutely do not care about their customer's experience OR their employee's conduct.

UPDATE: I called them before posting this.  They still have not called back. We will not be using them ever again.

Doug from Roman electric came to our home today. He was very condescending, rude and extremely unpleasant to do business with. He fixed our problem, but I can't recommend them based on how poorly we were treated.

Unreliable. Unprofessional. Look elsewhere for your service.

Roman's residential electric division was not able to service my single outlet within the 12-3 time that we had agreed upon. They did not call me to inform me of this inconvenience. When we called them at 3:30 they assured us that someone would be there within 20 minutes. Four hours later and still nothing.

Writing this review after discussing the issue with their management team all the way to their actual owner, it seems they are content to just skip random contracts and push them back several weeks without advance notice. I cannot have my time back, but you can save yours by skipping on Roman.

I called to schedule an estimate for some residential electric work was speaking to a lady who apparently didn't understand what kind of work I was looking for (i.e., rough in and final).  Several times the lady asked me to hold to speak to her boss regarding the work and inquire if they did actually do this type of work.  I indicated that the work had to be permitted prior to start.  She indicated that they usually permit after completing the work.  She again asked me to hold, but apparently didn't realize that I could still hear her!  The comments and foul language (including several F-bombs) that she proceeded to bark at her co-worker were uncalled for and unprofessional!  Needless to say, after telling her that I had heard what she was saying, I indicated that I no longer needed an estimate from the company.  If this unprofessional behavior represents the company, I would NOT recommend them.  This was a terrible first impression and they definitely lost my business and any future work.

$450/HOUR.

Yes, over four hundred and fifty dollars per hour is what I ended up paying them!

UPDATE:
Vital S., I did what you asked and I called your office last Friday. I spoke to 2 different employees. I was on the phone for 2 minutes, 53 seconds (per my phone log.) I told the first that I was responding to Vital S. on Yelp and she transferred me to another employee. I told her the same and she said she would have someone call me back. It's now 4 days later. NO RESPONSE! AGAIN! That makes 4 unanswered messages that I left. Was your response here simply an attempt at PR ploy to make it look like you cared, with nothing to back it up?

So disappointed.  We had a wireless doorbell system which worked just fine, but we want to upgrade to a security camera doorbell system.  So we called the company to replace our 1929 wiring.  Should have been an easy thing.

First thing we noticed after they left, they didn't leave the old wireless doorbells.  Sure they were over 10 years old, but they worked.  And we had promised the system to my brother-in-law.  I called to have them returned to us, but they had been thrown out.  I asked for a credit so that we could replace them.  I was forwarded to a manager who has never returned my call.

Several days later I noticed that the back doorbell no longer lit up.  It wasn't working.  Turns out the wire was damaged during the install.

It was a simple job that was nothing but a disappointment.

I needed an under cabinet light fixed. The Technician said it was a wire, and it should be no problem. It took about an hour. The light worked when he left.... and stopped working about 3 hours later.
I called Roman Electric Milwaukee in the morning and was told there was no warranty on the fixture. I told her the fixture was fine- but... again it's not working. She again reminded me there was not a warranty. I told her I needed to get it fixed. She said she could send someone out- and she could waive the travel fee.... I said okay. She said they wouldn't be able to come out until the next week. I told her I needed someone sooner. She said she would have the Technician call me.
A week later, I had heard NOTHING from Roman Electric.
I sent them an Email reply to the copy of the Bill they sent to me the day of service.
I received a voice mail from Sam in Customer Service, asking me to call back.
She was very snippy with me and said Since I have already decided to give them a bad review, they would refund my money.
It is very sad when a National Franchise Service Company would rather refund your money than make an effort to resolve the issue. I will NEVER again call Roman Electric for any Plumbing, Heating, Cooling or Electrical needs.
I also hope Sam either finds a way to like her job, or finds a job she can be good at. Dealing with customers over the phone was an EPIC fail.
To be clear- the Technician was wonderful- told me what he found, and how he was going to fix it. I called about the repair before business hours- the call center was very friendly. When I called back the first time- I spoke with Sam and she was NOT friendly, was a little verbally combative and did not seem to attempt to try to help me resolve my issue.
I have never been so dissatisfied that I have left a negative yelp review before. This is the first time I have felt personally disrespected as a paying customer to the point that I felt the need to warn others.

Unprofessional & unreliable.
I made an appointment for someone to come out and see what is wrong with the electricity.
No one showed up so I called.  They canceled without talking with me.
Instead of apologizing and figuring out how to fix their mistake, Anthony talked about other people and how bad they treat him.
A company that wants my money must keep it's end of our agreement.  Roman didn't.
Looking for a professional, reliable company.

If I could give this company a 0 I would. One of there technicians Rich. Lives in my neighborhood. He was screaming, swearing and all up in his neighbors face over his neighbor parking to close to his work van. Everyone in our neighborhood is aware of this situation. Many people in our neighborhood are involved in things like fire departments and other things. News will spread fast to not use Roman Electric due to one of your employees behaviors. I understand he wasn't on the job. But why would you want to hire and employ someone like that. He owes his neighbors and the entire neighborhood an apology for his reaction. Be ready for calls and people hating on this business all for one mean man named Rich.

This place is horrible. They came in and decided that my shower piping needs to be completely replaced and that's it's corroded. I was quoted $400+. Had a second opinion come in and it was fixed in 5 mins.

I can not complain about their work, but make sure you can't get the same quality for a cheaper price.  Four ceiling fixtures, 3 dimmers, two 3-way switches, one single pole switch and switching around two dryer outlets was $1100 and change for two guys and 5 man hours worked. Unfortunately I was up against time constraints and didn't do my due diligence.  Guess I paid for at least one commercial!

Roman Electric did the electrical work for my kitchen remodel.  That went great.  They also installed a ceiling exhaust fan, which leaks EVERYTIME it rains.  I should not have to put a bucket on my stove to keep it dry.  They have been here 3 times, the last time, the repair broke the housing

I scheduled an appointment to have a new outlet installed for a washer. I clearly explained that the washer would have to be moved to get to the wall. The young man arrived this morning, took one look, and said he was not allowed to move equipment - pay me $59.00. The young man felt very bad about the whole thing, but was still unable to do the work. He went on to ask if I wanted to schedule an appointment in the future to have the outlet installed! I tried not to let my explode at that one!!

Ever since we moved into a fixer-upper, Roman Electric and Plumbing has been our go to business of choice.  We have had MANY projects completed by them in our home: a full kitchen/dining room remodel (down to the studs), an entire house change from fuses and low amps-to a box with many more amps, a new power line from our house out to our detached garage for an electric car charging station and a new electrical box installed, replacement of outdoor lights, a bathroom remodel including new sink fixtures for an original 20's sink, plumbing for an existing tub (adding a shower option), a new toilet, and a new light over the vanity, and adding a few outlets and changing some basement lights on pull cords onto a switch.
My most recent experience with the electrician was very helpful because he actually spent a few minutes of education time for what types of lights, lightbulbs (various LED's vs other bulbs), etc. would work and wouldn't work in a home this age.  That alone will save me time, and the hassle of having to return something that might not have worked if I hadn't been an informed buyer.
Regarding the quality of work on new boxes in the basement and the garage- eve the inspector stated how neat and tidy the job was completed!
What I can tell you about Roman is that everyone who has worked in this house has been friendly, professional, and flexible with the random crazy that old houses bring.  Working with Anthony for obtaining bids and for answering my *continual* list of questions has always been extremely timely and courteous.
Has there been an occasional monkey wrench thrown into planned projects?  Yes.  But as I stated before, working in a 100yr old house is not like working in a new construction home.  That being said, they have never hesitated or been difficult to work with if we have had to make changes from the original plan.
I noticed some statements about cost, but they have a print out in their folder that you receive with any estimate and the prices are indicated for everything.  Plumbing and electric projects certainly add up, but I don't believe they are trying to pull a fast one on any customer.
I will continue to hire Roman for all of my electrical and plumbing needs in this home.  They do great work!  Thank you Roman!!!

Currently had some work done to a rental. 2 bedroom outlets and 2 in the LV room. Tech called and claimed she could not find the exact point why the bedroom outlet was not receiving power, OK. Tech quotes it could be as little as $76.00, to a high of $499.00. Guess what! It was $499.00! On top of $76.00 x 3, oh yea, don't forget the trip charge of $40.00! 2-1/2 hours of service- Total for 4 outlets- $798.00! C'mon  Roman! I know you have to make money, but robbery?

I saw Romans ad on tv my house was 38 degrees and falling, they came out 2 days later, I told them I needed a gas valve replaced....their initial charge was $269 just to look.  I paid that up front next thing I know the tech removed other parts that were ok, he added new parts totally around $350, parts I didnt need, he took my parts with him...after a while he came upstairs and said.....it looks like Roman Electric will eat this one, I cant fix your furnace.....he said a new furnace was $8000, he didnt measure up anything, I ended up getting a actual bid, still with no measurements of over $9000 and since then no further communication from Roman....I called in another service man and he installed 2 new small parts under $50 for both....I now have heat.

We received a quote in advance to have a chandelier removed from our old residence and installed at our new residence. After the work was done, for more than $350 (the quoted amount), the installer asked for an additional $319 for changing out light bulbs - which was outrageous enough, because the changing out consisted of simply putting in some new bulbs, that we provided, during the reinstall of the chandelier; and there were only 8 bulbs to replace, so this wasn't some massive project. In addition, the installer didn't bring along a ladder tall enough to do the work - despite having been to BOTH residences a week or so ago, to give the estimate, for which they were paid $49 or so (yes, just to give the estimate) - and had to go and pick up a ladder, thereby adding a lot of time to the project; there were other problems, too - a van not big enough to carry the chandelier from one residence to the other, despite the fact that the installer had seen the chandelier at the time of the estimate. We reluctantly agreed to pay part of the requested $300 surcharge (over and above the agreed upon $350) because the installer and his assistant did work hard, did get the chandelier moved and seemed like nice people. But I would't consider hiring this company again and if you do hire them, watch out for bait and switch pricing. It is unprincipled behavior at best.

I renovated my kitchen last year, and I had Roman Electric do the electrical.  That went very well, the gentleman that did the work was great, personal and friendly.  He also no longer works for Roman Electric and I know why.  Then came the exhaust fan.  I didn't have one, so it had to be installed.  Someone else, within their company, did that, and needless to say, this past summer, whenever it rained, it rained on my stove.  I should not have to put a bucket on my stove to keep it dry when it rains.  Roman Electric sent someone out 3 times to fix it with the same result.  I still have a bucket on my stove when it rains.  The last guy that came out, also broke the housing around the fan.  I called today to find out what was happening, AGAIN, I was put on hold, transferred to voice mail 3 times, and put on hold AGAIN for 15-20 minutes.  While on hold, I used my landline to call the company, and was put straight through, while my cell was still on hold.  When I told the project manager, that I spoke to today about the plastic housing around the fan, she told me oh, that's just hearsay, and you're making up stuff.  SERIOUSLY!  She proceeded to tell me that they would refund my money and to find my own repair.  So now I have to find someone to fix their mistake  I would never recommend them to anyone.

Didn't even return the call.  This is a big place with quite a few employees, for that reason,  I see no excuse for not returning a phone call two full days later.   My message was for a whole house rewiring, on a house within 3 miles of their office,  not just a light switch not working,  20 miles away,  so you'd think they'd be interested....

I'm sure the boots on the ground do fine work, but unfortunately I wouldn't know.

We hired Roman Electric a week or so ago to repair a circuit that had gone down. The office folks were friendly and got us a time window on on Friday 1/3/14 that the electrician would arrive.

That time window came and went. I'm a reasonable guy, I've worked with contractors before and I understand that sometimes things get backed up and it just can't be helped. A phone call letting me know that things are going to be late or saying the job needs rescheduled would be nice, but I can even let that go and take the initiative to call them myself.

That's where things did upset me, though. When the electrician was about three hours past the end of the time window, my girlfriend called Roman Electric to cancel the appointment (at this point, being talked through by a couple of knowledgeable friends I was able to fix the issue myself), and briefly explained no electrician had shown up. No sooner than my girlfriend finished her sentence, the woman in the office hung up on her. No OK, got it, no apology, nothing. Silence. Dead air. Now that's customer service with style!

I hate to leave a review like this, because until now I've heard nothing but good things about Roman, but based on my experience with them I've learned this: if it absolutely, positively has to get done, look somewhere else.

I first met Kevin and Mike when I called Roman to troubleshoot an emergency electrical issue that affected 75% of my house.  They arrived within 45 minutes of calling the phone number in the phone book.  It took them 10 minutes to troubleshoot the problem, and 30 minutes to fix and test their fix.  Afterwards, they provided a free electrical service safety inspection, which I found out that our 60 year old house was severely out of code, the electrical panel was not compliant with code, and the house would continue to have electrical problems like the one troubleshooted, unless upgraded.  The estimate was shocking, so I asked how long they would honor the estimate:  one year.

I saved up our money for the upgrade, and brought Roman back to complete the upgrade.  They did a great job.  Just prior to time we moved into our house in 2009, it had undergone a remodel, but the electrical that was done was not up to code, as they didn't address issues throughout the house.

The technician were thorough, communicated well throughout the process, politely answered questions, honored the estimate they gave me to do the job prior, and completed the job on time.  The upgrade included replacement of the electrical panel, the mast, outlets throughout the house, grounding the circuit, installing surge protection within the electrical panel to protect the house from WE Energies power surges, troubleshooting the outlet in the laundry room, and a dedicated electrical line to my office.

One thing that was surprising was that they were running late due to a company meeting to the job, and they had the respect to actually call me within 5 minutes of being late to tell me what was going on, and a time that they would arrive, which they met.

Roman has experienced electricians working for them that respect your property, your time, and do the job right.  Their indoor work has a 10 year warranty, or a lifetime warranty if you maintain the electrical service agreement, which covers service fees and gives you a significant discount.

I would highly recommend Roman, especially Kevin, for any remodel or troubleshooting job, as I would call Roman again if I have additional electrical work.

We have used Roman Electric before.  The actual work, while expensive, is alright.  Today, we have a leak.  We contacted Roman and were given a window of time between 9-11.  That window was confirmed via text to two different phones. We were told to expect a text/call 20 min. prior to visit.  Made arrangements at work to sit here.  Came 11:00 - no text, no call, nada!   We called them they sort of scolded us telling us that their windows of time extended from 9-12.  BUT we have it in writing so?   Anyway, come 1:14, I am still sitting here.  NADA!   We have one home in the area and several rentals.  Guess we will be giving someone else our business next time.  Shame too cuz we were just about to begin renovations on a basement.  Oh well.

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and shop around before moving forward with their quote.  We had two guys come out to take a look at the work we needed done.  The reason I gave the two stars is because they were good guys, showed up on time and seemed to be knowledgeable.  They obviously could tell that we had moved out of the place and were pending inspection and I think they tried to take advantage of that.  $149 for a GFI, $446 for two GFIs with bubble covers, $296 to fix an outlet that was in backwards, the list goes on totaling $2,400.  I had to get lien waivers so at this point was not work I could do myself but you can go buy a pack of 3 GFIs for $45 and it takes an electrician about 10-15 minutes to change one out.  I called the guy out for the $296 charge that the outlet was simply backwards and then all of a sudden it was free if I signed up for everything else today.  I asked for 10-15 minutes to review and I would get back to him.  Well I called two other licensed electricians and both laughed at the quote.  Had the work finished yesterday by a great company and great electrician for about a 1/3 of the price.  My recommendation to Roman Electric would be take care of your customers first and not overcharge so you can put the drivers picture on the trucks and add all the fancy bells and whistles-quoted by the company on the work they do.

Found Roman on Yelp and agree with what I saw in another review. The phone people were friendly and informative. They sent a 14 year veteran electrician who identified the problem immediately and set my mind at ease. They also sent an apprentice who did a safety check for me as a courtesy. Affordable and worth the money!

We had an issue with our bathroom light fixture. We installed a new one easy, but the matching one didn't have an outlet box and that's above our pay grade. You never WANT to call an electrician, but if you have to, I'd suggest Roman Electric. They came in, gave me the exact cost straight up and then got to work. Work was done quickly and the electrician was more than professional and the cost was reasonable.

I had Roman Electric install an electrical outlet and replace a halogen dining room fixture with an LED fixture. The outlet went fine, but the LED fixture did not. The electrician told me that parts of the fixture were defective, showing me with one of his meters that there was no current. When he left, I contacted the establishment from whom I purchased the fixture. They said the electrician probably did not know what he was doing, and they were correct. They sent their own electrician over and he finished the job, no problem. He used only the parts that originally came with the fixture. When I contacted Roman Electric, they refused to refund any portion of my $700 bill, even though they did not complete the installation. Do not fall for their special offers as they only cover the trip charge to you house. When I see their trucks in my neighborhood, all I can this is someone else is getting ripped off.

I'm sure the technicians do good work, but I didn't get that far. I called a week in advance and was told that they wouldn't be able to get someone to my house the next Monday at 8 am. I prefer the first slot, as a I work from home and have a hard time with arrival windows, since I generally have meetings during the day and may not always be available to let a technician in and talk them through the issue.  I received a confirmation call the Friday before and assumed we were all set.  I was never told that the technician would need to speak to me on the phone prior to them being dispatched to my home.  So when it was 5 minutes past 8 and no one had arrived I went to check my phone and noticed two missed calls.  When I returned the call to the office, I was told because I didn't answer my phone the technician was dispatched elsewhere.  When I asked if the customer service rep when that would be, her response was I don't know.  Obviously, I was counting on someone being at my home at 8am, so I was upset.  I told the rep that I was never told that the technician needed to speak to me and her response was we always tell you that they will call 15-20 minutes prior to their arrival.  I told her that I assumed that was just a courtesy, letting you know that they were on the way and that if I needed to speak to them in order for them to get sent to my house that I should have been informed of that.  The rep then responded very sarcastically I will dispatch the next technician that I have available and they will call 15-20 minutes before your arrival, AND YOU WILL NEED TO SPEAK WITH THEM PRIOR TO THEM BEING DISPATCHED.  Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment and will be getting my work done by a competitor.

They changed an electrical outlet and tightened a screw... cost me $310.95.   I had to be at work and my son was there when they did the work.  They never called me prior to arriving or prior to doing the work as they said they would.  Also told me on the phone that if I had work done, they would not charge me the $39.95 service fee.  When I called to complain, they told me they never said any of that.  That is a blatant lie.  I would never use Roman electric again,  and would suggest that you look elsewhere for an honest electrician.

I scheduled an appointment on a Monday and was told a plumber could come out the next day, on Tuesday between noon and three. I waited and waited... I finally called at 7 and asked if my appointment had been overlooked or if I should still expect someone to show up.  The person who answered the phone was very nice but not very informative and said someone would get back to me. I will not call them again since they do not bother to call or show up as scheduled.  Very disappointed.

Had a handful of residential items for the technician to price out for me.  He was cordial at all times.  He installed two outlets (earlier today) and all seems well.  The upfront understanding was that before costs were incurred over the service call fee, I would be told about those.
I asked for one light switch at the far end of a hall (bedrooms) in addition to the two outlets. He quoted it based on the wires already being run behind the drywall, but said he'd have to check.  If it changed, he'd let me know before incurring any costs/doing the work.  He came downstairs and said it would be about 4 times the quote because when he removed the  switch plates, the wires weren't there.  Okay so far.  It took 14 minutes to determine this.  I said that was a bit much for now, lets do the two outlets for today.
Here's where it starts to go sideways. The final bill contained an additional 'inspection' fee of over $200 for him to determine the switch install price. Now the nice lady on the phone said I wouldn't incur costs over the service fee to tell me how much things will cost unless told ahead of time.  Before he headed up, I specifically asked if there would be any costs (before authorizing the work) and was told no, it had to be looked at first to get me a price.  I assumed that when Roman Electric said they'd let me know up front what the charges for each job would be and I wouldn't be charged until I agreed to those, that the inspection needed to tell me a price wouldn't run into the hundreds before any work was accomplished.  I sincerely didn't know this was that kind of place.  Live and learn I guess.

First, my husband and I know squat about fixing electricity, even really basic stuff, so we called them to help us out. After we had one two prong outlet changed to a three prong by a relative, the outlet on the other side of the wall stopped working and we couldn't figure it out. We also wanted a new light fixture installed. Yeah... we need to learn some skills when we can't even do THIS ourselves!

So, we called Roman Electric at the recommendation of my husband's parents and they sent Carol. The fee just for someone to come to your home is $59, even if you end up not having anything done. She explained the prices clearly so there were no surprises. She also figured out I didn't know anything, including how to turn the power back on if I blew the electricity out, so she not only did the work she also taught me many things. She showed me what was wrong with the outlet and how she fixed it. She explained about different kinds of wires both when she did the outlet and when she installed the light fixture. She also taught me about the mysterious box in the basement so I can turn the power back on myself instead of waiting for my husband to come home and do it. Wonderful personality, doesn't just do her job but gave a lot of information and made sure everything was done correctly and neatly.

If you call them for work do ask for Carol, she's very recommended by me! Pleasant to talk to and skilled at her profession.

They accept credit cards (I know VISA for sure, I don't know about others), checks, and cash.

Haven't had the opportunity to meet anyone from Roman Electric except for this morning on my way to work, when the driver of a Roman electric vehicle blew past me, then cut me off at the beginning of construction and the lane was clearly full.  I had to slam on my breaks and my horn just to get him to see that I was there. When off the ramp he flipped me off.  This construction on the interstate has been clearly marked and everyone except this exceptionally rude driver were already in the left lane and traffic was backed up.  I would have let him in very nicely if he had used a blinker and shown that he was going to merge. Unfortunately no such luck.  If Roman electric is anything like their drivers and technician in the seat next to him, I wouldn't recommend them. They obviously don't care about people or other drivers.

I had a plumber from Roman Electric out to my home on 7/31/17 to repair a leaking toilet tank.  When he was done he said he had replaced the flap parts inside also because they were not Kohler parts.  The parts that were in were working perfectly and he never asked if I wanted them replaced, we never discussed it.  I was charged $475.71 and this was with a $59 discount!  When he left the toilet started running sporadically.  I called them back and asked them to bring my old parts they were not authorized to remove and put them back in as this had nothing to do with the repair I requested.  They had no right to take it upon themselves to replace something that was working perfectly and that we never discussed replacing.  The plumber returned the next day but said he did not have all of the bolts he removed and could not switch the part back out. I told him it was not running before and now he has created a new problem.  He sat in my bathroom and I was not hearing any noise or movement for a long time so went to check on him.  He was sitting on my bathtub playing on his phone! I confronted him and he said he did not know what to do and left.  I called Roman Electric and requested a refund as they have a satisfaction guarantee on the back of their bill which states If you are not 100% satisfied with the service we have provided, we will refund all of your money.  When I brought this to their attention they said they could send out yet another plumber today.  I told them 3:00 or after.  They said that would be double time then! They said 3:00 or after is after hours although when I had an issue a few months back with some work they told me it was 5:00pm.  I have already taken two days away from my business to deal with their incompetent work and now they try to make things more difficult and refuse to honor their service and repair guarantee.  I have used this company for years and up until about the last year they were excellent.  This last year or so it has been one issue after another with incompetent work, repair people lying and outrageous charges and now failure to keep their 100% service and repair guarantee.  Their service manager does not return calls and their office staff and workers have a real attitude when confronted about their work.  This was thew last chance I give them, they are crooks!  I would advise anyone looking for plumbing, electrical or furnace work to go somewhere else.

Very overpriced!  I was in a bind needing an electrical outlet installed on the outside of my house for a radon mitigation system that was being installed prior to selling my house last month.  Had I not been in a time crunch, with closing already having been postponed once, I would have told him to forget it.  The most frustrating part was that they were unable to give any idea of cost over the phone when I called.  I was told there was a $40 diagnostic/trip charge in addition to the cost of the work.  When I received the invoice it states they have straightforward pricing.  The invoice shows 10 levels of service each with different services listed underneath and a dollar amount next to the level.  My service of an outlet installation was just circled on the form with the dollar amount circled as well.  There is absolutely NO reason why they could not have told me that over the phone.  I would never have had them come out to give an estimate or do the work.  I told the electrician I thought it was a ridiculous price and that I thought it would have been about 50% of his cost.  He gave me a 10% discount as he didn't want me to feel like I was being ripped off.  TOO LATE!  $700 after discount for one little outlet.  Never again will I use or recommend Roman Electric.

We needed some ceiling fans installed.  My husband and I decided to get 2-3 quotes and then choose based on experience, price, etc.  A guy came out to quote and he was on time, friendly, and thorough.  As nice as Roman Electric was, their price came in over twice as much as the other two quotes  They are EXPENSIVE.  Not that I mind paying a little more for high quality services, but a discrepancy of $900 more for a 2 fan job is ridiculous (the other 2 quotes were $800 and their quote was $1700).

Needed a special 20 amp outlet installed with a dedicated circuit breaker and called Roman in the morning and it was installed by that afternoon. Quality work and especially quality service!

I called to try to get an estimate on a light fixture change-out in my home.  I was told that I had to pay $59 for an initial visit at which time the electrician would tell me how much the work would cost.  Excuse me?  I need to pay for an estimate .. I think not!   All I was looking for was a general ballpark number, but was told all I do is schedule; I don't have any price sheets.  Okay then but it seems you are losing business here!
