Borth-Wilson Plumbing & Bathroom Remodeling

The main sewer pipe to the road backed up on a Saturday morning, meaning we could not flush toilets or use any drains.  Definitely an emergency.  I left a voicemail and someone texted me back within an hour, and the plumber (Erik) then called me about 45 minutes later.  He said he could make it to our place within two hours, which he did.  He found the best, least-intrusive way to use his equipment to clear out the sewer line, and we were back in business.  It did cost additional due to it being a weekend, but they were upfront about this from the start.  Great job fixing our plumbing emergency!  Thanks!

Drove up from Chicago for estimates on a bath remodel on our new home.  I was finishing up an estimate with another company and Borth said he wouldn't provide an estimate while another plumber was there.  He could have waited.

I'm not sure how Borth doesn't understand people get multiple bids.  At least I didn't schedule them at the same time.

I guess they didn't want the business.  Don't waste your time.

Worked with the owner Don on a quote for a bar sink install. During our conversation we discussed them cutting and putting the sink in along with the piping. He informed me it would run around $400 to $500, a verbal quote. I agreed, and the install took place a week later. The Plumber did a great job, and was very courteous and friendly.

Once he was finished up and called the owner I was informed the price was $600. They stated they 'thought' I was doing the cutting and putting the sink in. Extremely false, and they tried to run salesmenship techniques to convince me that $600 was a great price and I was essentially getting the materials for free.

My recommendation, work was good pricing was not. Definitely get any quotes in writing, otherwise you'll end up paying higher. Or shop for a company that provides a quoted price and sticks to it.

We used Borth-Wilson to gut and completely remodel an old bathroom. They were extremely organized, easy to work with and quick to complete the project on time. All employees were polite and neat. Getting in touch with them was also easy, and they were responsive to our needs. The timeline they proposed was ultimately what made our decision, as we didn't want a project that dragged out over months. That said, I'm not entirely certain that we got the highest quality of materials or workmanship for what we paid. I spoke with others who received a lot more bathroom for their $$$ than what we spent. I would recommend them, but certainly compare their prices with other contractors using the same materials.

We were completely satisfied with the work that Borth Wilson did.  We have a very old house--the very definition of a plumber's nightmare.   The plumber had to get down on his hands and knees and crawl into a crawlspace to inspect and evaluate the problem drain lines. We were given an appointment time of about a week out, but when a spot opened up on the schedule, BW was able to come 3-4 days early.  The plumber fixed the problem, and also replaced/upgraded other potential problem areas.  We thought the invoice amount was very fair considering the amount of work done and the conditions under which the plumber had to work.

Awful company to deal with! They told me to buy a cooktop-even gave me the name of the salesperson. They installed it-but it didn't have enough clearance under my drawers. Never notified me at the time of the install, just left me a note. It was a fire hazard!! Then they said it was MY fault for buying the stove & that they were just helping me out to install it. Apparently they don't know the meaning of the word contractor. I didn't have a stove for 5 weeks. Then there were other things that weren't finished but they wanted final payment. The last straw was when the owner sent me a letter saying that we are done & they will never work with ME again! Absolutely awful people who put me through more than this easy job should have been. They never took responsibility for any of their screw up. Avoid them at all cost!

So far we have had two encounters with Borth -Wilson and both have been A+.  The quotes were honored and the work was done perfectly.  Would highly recommend this company to others.

Don't waste your time if your job is small. On TV they stated something like no job too big or small, we believe that not to be true. Our bath is about 10 x 8 and we received a quote of nearly 20,000 dollars and that was with us buying the materials and doing the demo.
