The service technician was rude and insulting; which in and of itself is to be expected given that tech. However, the outrageous estimate of 8.5k to run wiring for a provided whole home generator is 8-10x times of other estimates is ridiculous. Be rude, that's not bothersome...if you don't want to work or do the job, just say it! Not recommend, it's sad b/c there are probably some qualified technicians with Buds...

Buds always has exceptional customer service! We needed a new Hvac system and from the sales consultation right up to the completion of installation I was so impressed. They are knowledgeable and friendly and will be who we call when we need repairs in the future!

I could not be happier. Called on Sunday at 4 pm from remote location after hubby was unable to fix issue that left us unable to use any water or plumbing in our entire home. Joe came out and worked and worked to get our issue fixed and our water and plumbing restored for a reasonable price. Thank you!

We called Bud's a few months back because we installed a Nest thermostat but didn't have a common wire so needed it to be installed. The technician who came out complained the entire time he installed it and said most companies refuse to work on Nest thermostats. Before he left he stated he checked the AC and heat and both worked fine, then left (this visit alone cost a pretty penny). Then a month or so after, we tried to run our AC before summer hit and our AC was blowing hot air. Given that the technician claimed it worked the last time he was here we called Bud's again and asked them to come out. The same technician came out, complaining again and now stated we had a valve that needed to be replaced. He quoted us $1600 for the valve (the part itself was $99 and then it was going to be $1500 for labor alone) and said that's all that needed to be replaced. Even though he stated it worked last time he was here and he previously missed the valve issue, we still had to pay the service call. We ended up getting a second and third opinion. It ended up our compressor was shot and we needed to replace our entire unit, which their technician missed. The other companies stated this wouldn't have been missed had the input and output of the unit been tested. So instead of $1500, we ended up paying $9000 to replace the entire unit with another friendly company who had awesome technicians. Huge loss on Bud's part and will absolutely not recommend their services.

I've come to update my review from 4 days ago and as you can see from my stars, total opposite experience. One of the owners, Chandler reached out about my previous experience and apologized on behalf of everyone I dealt with.  He refunded my $89 and offered to have a tech come out to put my new thermostat free of charge. Jack and Matt came out during the designated window. The first thing Jack said was I read the review, you don't need to explain  They actually found out that a cord was broken somehow, which is why my AC unit was not getting power. So it was not my thermostat, as the previous tech had stated. I went ahead and had them install the new thermostat since I had it there already. They did everything free of charge. They also cleaned up after themselves. They accidentally took my old thermostat with them, but that's in the process of being brought back. They got my AC working again and my new thermostat hooked up properly. I'm impressed with the action Chandler took and how the situation was dealt with. They were 100% opposite of what I previously dealt with and these guys are the reason I will continue using Buds and will suggest using Buds to my friends and family. Thanks for everything!

We have been under contract with Bud for 11 years.  With the thought that we would be preferred customers.  Bud was going to come out and check our heating system in November, I received a call from Bud the morning that they were supposed to come saying the repair man was out sick and the earliest they could come out is three weeks away.  They could not give me a earlier time because they were working with people that had no heat.  I was not a emergency.
2 weeks ago I called Bud as my water heater was leaking and I was told the earliest they could come out is 4 days, they were only working on emergency calls.  When I told Bud that the water heater was leaking in my house was told 4 days was the best they could do.  I asked to speak to some one in management was told no one was in the office, I left my name and number and asked for some one to call me NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED.
Today Bud came out to check my heating system and found a part that was not working.  He replaced the part as the part was under warranty.  Was charged $150.00 labor for 5 minutes to install the part.  When I asked the repair man how much would it cost if I did not have a warranty was told $185.00 and that is with labor.  $150.00 labor charge for 5 minutes of work.
Again I called the office to speak with someone in management and was told no one was in the office, again left my name and phone number and no one calls.
After 11 years under contract I am cancelling my contract.  If you can not return calls or give service I DO NOT NEED BUD.

We had a water heater that wasn't working.. After 2 1/2 days of getting no where with our soon to be ex home warranty company called Buds at 3:45 PM.. Explained to Angie what was going on, she responded with a great deal of urgently. She put me on hold and 2 minutes later told me that a tech would be at our house in 15 minutes. He arrived and problem solved in less than an hour. Thank You Angie and Bud you have a new customer.

Our first call to Bud's was relieving. We called during an exceptionally hot wave, after hours, and despite their busyness, they still had someone who was able to be at our home within the time promised.  Being skeptical of being taken advantage of, we were nervous about the cost and whether or not the person would be honest, quick and efficient.  He definitely surpassed our expectations.  I would highly recommend this company to a friend. We will, in the future, call Bud's.

Wonderful customer service from beginning to end. Everyone was so pleasant to work with and they even coordinated with my Condo Association to shut off water to restore my main water cutoff inside. Did an amazing job re-routing pipes in a small space and was so kind to label new shut offs installed. Would highly recommend. Very professional and wonderful service!

I was recommended by a neighbor to try out Buds plumbing after 4 failed attempts of getting a shower issue fixed with other plumbers. Brandon and his crew came for the consultation and got me an answer and fix in seconds. I booked a day and time and they were right on time. They were fast and efficient and just great people overall. I'm happy with the end results and everything works as it should. I have been a customer of Buds for a long time.  They installed both of my systems and have prepare maintenance on them twice a year.  They have always been honest and explained any issues and provided me options.  I have always been happy with the company to include the office staff, sales people and the technicians.  I highly recommend them.

I called on a Saturday afternoon to see about scheduling someone to come over. I get it, it's not on a weekday but they did advertise 24/7 so I thought I could call to schedule. The lady who answered let me know quickly that it's for emergencies only. I apologized politely and said I will try somewhere else then and she actually huffed at me lol.  Like dang! Didn't mean to interrupt your day lol. Anyway, maybe the technicians are great or maybe not. I won't get the chance to find out. My son has moved back for college and I just need to find someone who can dewinterize this house and add plumbing for another bathroom and ac unit.  Also, I immediately started receiving texts from the company to receive automated marketing from them. No thanks.

Once again, Bud's saved the day without trying to sell me a new unit.  We've had a service program with them for years, and whenever anything has been a problem, we've been able to get someone right out.  Their technicians are knowledgable and courteous.  A great operation.

I believe this company has a good reputation and genuinely cares about its service. However my situation can only bring me to providing three stars. Was told that I had a bad motor in my exchanger and so I agreed to a $400 service. After the service it was identified I needed another service it would cost four times as much.  At the same time I also agreed to have my furnace exchanged.  The job cost me over $4000. When the old furnace was taken out I was looking for all the damage that I was told the furnace had and I could not find any. In the back my mind I cannot help but think I was told I needed a $4000 piece of equipment when in fact I did not. The Takeaway be sure to get second opinions and be sure to double check the recommendations.  Again I just felt there was an integrity issue involved in my transaction. This could be the exception but it's my experience.

Fantastic service!  Had a burst pipe in the ceiling of my garage. Tech was at my house less than two hours after my initial call and was super efficient and knowledgeable. The repair was quick and the price was fair (even including the emergency after hours charge). I would absolutely call them again.

I needed an outlet run out to my backyard pond ASAP, Bud's responded quickly and had someone out for a quote in no time, fast forward 6 days and the job is done (not an emergency but they still got me in faster than expected). Ryan and his team were polite, efficient and fast, getting my pond up and running in no time!  I highly recommend this company for all of your electrical needs!

They came out straight away when I called, explained to me their fees and their contract. Since they replaced the part, we are covered with them (I believe for the next year?) and they'll come out. There's a diagnostic fee which isn't badly priced. They were quick, efficient, and had explained things to me so that I knew what was wrong, how they planned to fix it, and how much each step could / would cost. I recommend!

I had 2 estimates from this company.  The first estimate was to resize my gas line to accommodate future and additional gas appliances.  The guys for the gas line gave me a call before they arrived and came out right on time.  They were friendly and full of good advice.  The guys from my first estimate gets 4 stars.  The second estimate was to install a whole house generator.  My second experience is why I gave them 2 stars.  I travel for a living.  I made it very clear to the office that I would be driving 200 miles that Saturday to make the appointment.  That I would call them if I ran into any traffic.  The office said to just call the main number and leave a message, but they assured me that I would get a call before someone arrived.  I allotted more than 4 hours to arrive in plenty of time for the estimate, but alas, I hit I-95 traffic.  I immediately called the office and left a message that I was in traffic and that I doubt I'd make the 3:00 appointment, but that I'd do my utmost best to be close.  As it was, I made it to the house by 3:20.  I waited to hear from someone, I called their office, I never got a response from the tech or the office.  The office called me and said that the techs were at my house at 3:00 but that some elderly lady shut the door in their face.  I was not happy, I asked why I didn't get a phone call, I did everything I could do to make the appointment.  She could not give me an answer as to why I did not receive a call from the tech to let me know that they were on their way, or that they were at the house, or that some strange person shut the door in their face.  I said they obviously have so much business that they don't have to try very hard to get more.

This is our second year with a HVAC service contract with Bud's and so far we are very pleased. All of the service visits have been handled very professionally and the techs are personable and well trained. They offer a discount for any repairs with any of their services. We also have used the plumbing service and have been very satisfied with the plumber and his work.

The quality of service is excellent. We recently replaced our entire AC system and from start to finish, the employees were exceptional. Chandler N. who conducted the initial inspection and handled the sales aspect of the process was extremely helpful and kind. He took the time to call and email me (as I handled the process on behalf of my mother who does not speak English well) to keep me informed of the process. He very respectful and kind in working with my family. He brought over a couple window AC units to use until the installation date. The guys who came out for the installation were professional and efficient as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for such a hefty home project. I definitely recommend Buds!

I called Bud's last week during our heatwave. Kevin sent Andy out the same day. Andy gave me two options, repair or replace. My system was thirteen years old, so replacement was the logical choice. I again contacted Kevin  on Monday and asked how soon I could get a new unit installed. He said I could have it as early as Thursday. Needless to say, I'm sitting in my house now enjoying the comforts of my new air conditioner. I had a system that was old and thought I might not be able to get a similar unit. I not only did get what I wanted, it gets better.  I got a great price. Blane and his crew arrived and went to work with no supervision or interruptions from me. They asked the right questions and now I will recommend Bud's to all my family, friends, and employees. Thanks for the great teamwork!

Aaron came out on time and wearing a mask. This was for the repair of a washing machine drain line which went from the washer, under the house and tied into the waste line. This is a rental property and we have had problems in the past with people not showing up so we were pleased that this work was done quickly and in a timely manner. We will probably use Bud's again for other repairs.

Quinn was excellent.  He was very professional and and fixed our busted water pipe issue quickly. Due to the high volume of problems, throughout the area, from the snow/ice storm we couldn't get anybody to come out for another week. Buds was able to come out in 2 days. I would highly recommend Buds to anybody having heating or plumbing issues.

After a Sunday attempt to fix our leaky shower which resulted in more leaks from the bent copper fittings behind the wall, we decided to call around town for help.

We got in contact with Bud's. In no time, Quinn, the tech assigned to us called us to assess the job and price quoted us. He then got the parts needed at Home Depot, updating us while on the trip, and came to replumb and install the new fixtures.

It was interesting to see the state of the art tools he used for working on the copper pipes and fittings. No soldering.

Our standalone shower needed a cartridge replaced as there was a slow drip.  I'd replaced it before but this time I needed a pro because the brass ring holding the cartridge in place was fuzed on and wouldn't budge without damaging the valve.  The plumber called before arriving and was there on time.  The plumber was able to get the ring off and cartridge replaced, saving me around $1000 by not having to replace the valve.  Cleaned up nicely and was done inside of an hour.  Next morning's shower was a little on the chilly side so I called back.  The same plumber came back within an hour and adjusted the scald protection.  Done in 10 minutes, no charge.  I highly recommend Bud's for plumbing!

I have used Bud's for projects, large and small, for many years. A 5 year old mini-split in my sunroom was not cooling, so I called Buds.

Imagine my surprise when the tech, Andrew, announced that it was an inadequate unit and needed replacement before he entered the sunroom or LOOKED at the mini-split.

It no longer surprised me when the estimate to repair the mini-split was the majority of the cost to purchase a new one. Afterall, the up-sell started from the beginning.

I paid $89 for the service visit and Andrew left. Within 20 minutes of his departure, the sales office at Buds was calling to set up the install of a new mini-split. No thanks. I'll be looking for a second opinion.

I recently had problems with the A/C in a rental property. It turned out I had to replace entire A/C unit and after getting 3 different bids Bud's was the by far the best choice-- not only in price and finance options but all around customer service and professionalism. As I don't live locally I wanted to find a company I could trust with this work.  Steve was helpful and on the ball working with me and the person I have taking care of the property.   As my tenant was temporarily without any air I wanted the work done ASAP.  Steve told me that he would do all he could to put it at the top of the work list. I found out later that a technician named Chris went to the property after work that night to install a window unit free of charge until the system could be installed 3 days later.  He was there until 10 pm!-- that is excellent customer service and my tenant was so appreciative .  Also my property manager communicated to me that Patrick and Drew who installed the system were on time, professional, courteous and did an outstanding job installing the entire system quickly.  Overall Bud's did a lights out job and I am a very happy satisfied customer.  I highly recommend them.

I wanted to give a shoutout to Andy. The night prior my AC went out. I called every company I could in the local area. At 0800 I had extreme climates, bud's, wooley's, and tommy gardner at my house all within minutes of each other. It was hectic for me to try to communicate my issues with all the representatives. However, Andy stood out amongst the crowd. he was very professional and personal. I did not use buds at this time because one of the other companies could do the work the next day but I do appreciate his craftsmanship and his time

I chose Bud's over 4 other companies that gave us estimates for a replacement of our 25 year old heating and air conditioning system. The Bud's comfort advisor was the only one that did a complete evaluation of the existing system including examining the return ducts in the crawl space. He also calculated supply and return capacity of the system, something none of the others did, and recommended an additional return air duct. We had a high efficiency system installed. Installation was done professionally and in a timely manner. Our house is more comfortable than it has been in years.

Have had need to use Bud's twice in the last few months for different reasons.  Everyone has been pleasant from office to techs.  Work has been done as promised, when promised.   Can not speak to whether they are more or less expensive than others, but know when needed their services they responded.  Will continue to use.

In riposte to their response, their records of course show multiple calls, but my cell phone call log shows only one at 2:07 saying the tech would be there in an hour.  I'm sure the rest of their calls disappeared into the great Verizon cloud.  Paying customers are the life of any business and you should never give them a run around especially when they are taking an afternoon off without pay to meet your technician.  As for respect the wait staff, honest criticism of how they treat paying customers should be encouraged, you gain respect by being professional not by padding phone records.  For those who think Bud's provides value.  They charged me $215 to take 8 minutes to install a part.  The same part is available from WalMart for $22 and the install consists of pulling off and shoving on 3 connectors.

This company is awesome! From the receptionist who answers the calls and questions to the two GENTLEMEN who came and repaired two shower faucets! They worked their butts off trying to get those old and nasty faucets fixed and operating once again! Saved me a ton of money and aggregation! Very professional, caring and considerate to out needs! Both plumbers who arrived were very knowledgeable and worked great as a team. I'd recommend this company and will have them listed on my cell as my only plumber!

My 17+ year old furnace died on Dec 30, 2020.  Called Bud's at 8:30am to get an appointment for a diagnosis. They said a tech would be on site between 3pm and 6pm that very day.  Well the tech showed up at 3pm..ish.  After diagnosing the issue of a dead blower fan and making note of the fact that the unit is 17 years old, we discussed replacement of the unit.  I wasn't pressured to buy a new furnace first and foremost.  The tech said they could replace the blower but I should consider throwing more money at an end of life unit.  I new this day was coming anyway (replacement).  So I discussed replacement furnace options.  The tech gave me all the options to include financing with different price ranges of units.  After agreement on a new unit; and a call back to home office, Bud's was able to show up the very next morning at 8:00am, remove the old unit, install the new unit, give me a walk-thru, overview all by 1:00pm. Cleaned up the work site - spotless.  This company is a gem.  Responsive, reactive, and professional.  Getting a new furnace in one day is a blessing made by Bud's, just before the REAL winter kicks in.  Thank you Buds.  Highly recommended.

I was looking to have my garbage disposal installed and happened to see Bud's magnet glued on the front page of my phone book. I called and in 40 minutes, Bob was at my house to give me an estimate. He explained the process and that I needed an electrician to first install the switch; not a problem, Bud's has electricians, too.  Bob left and 5 minutes later I got a call from Bud's to schedule an estimate for the work. The next day Ben,the electrician, came out as scheduled. My kitchen was going through a renovation so there weren't cabinets to get in the way. They quoted me a price I couldn't refuse and offered to do the work then. In less than an hour they had cut through the wall and added the switch. The piece of sheetrock was neatly cut so as to make it easy to reinstall when they were finished. There was minimal mess but what was there they cleaned up. Awesome! Thank you! I will definitely use Bud's (Yorktown) again.

So yesterday was a homeowner's nightmare. I put a load of laundry in the washing machine and a few minutes later I heard toilets bubbling water, I ran to the bathroom and noticed that the tub and toilet had filled with backwash, see attached photos. Once I saw that happen I went right to yelp and set up a project message to local plumbers in the area. Bud's Heating & Air Conditioning responded quickly offering to put me on with dispatch. I gave my information and about 10 minutes later I received a phone call from Brandon checking to see if I was okay, if my situation was an emergency etc. He even advised me to call the city and have them come out and look to see if it would be their responsibility which would save me some money. He gave me an idea of what could possibly be going on. Needless to say the city left me a note on the door stating that it was the owner's responsibility. Great! I messaged Bud's this morning asking when there next available tech could come out and I was given the window of 12-5pm. Around 9ish I received a call stating that there was a sooner opening and if I could make that one. Quinn showed up and checked my bathtub, toilets and washing machine. Just as Brandon said my main line needed to be snaked. Quinn was quick, friendly and professional. I had lots of questions and he answered them all.
If you need a plumber, a reliable, friendly, cares about their customers, use Bud's. I was even given a 30 day warranty for my plumbing!

I'm not surprised by the bad reviews that I have read on here about Bud's and their incompetent, rude HVAC techs who care about nothing but upselling. Upselling to the point of being dishonest and making customers feel like they are being robbed. It appears that Bud's management are hiring dishonest sales people disguised as HVAC techs. I'm quite shocked that Costco would be affiliated with a company like Bud's.

I was charged an $89 diagnostic fee. The first problem is that the HVAC tech was not concerned with diagnosing and instead more concerned with upselling as other reviews have suggested.

I called Bud's because I had a tankless water heater that no one in the area works on.  Tankless water heaters are great and I highly recommend them if you're considering one.  Just be sure it's one that can actually be serviced by someone in your area.  This one was doing weird stuff that just made no sense.  The main issue was the water heater wouldn't stay on when we used the shower or bathtub, but then the electronic ignition failed.  We had to reset the circuit breaker several times daily.  Bud's was willing to take a look, but told me up front they didn't think they'd be able to fix it, as it's an uncommon brand.  I appreciated their honesty, and the fact that they were willing to take a look when no one else would.  I made an appointment, but by the time the day came, I had changed my mind so many times about this water heater, I'm sure Angie was tired of hearing from me.  Instead of working on the water heater, I asked to have my shower valve replaced.  A different plumber had recommended to replace the valve.

It was a pain.  Quinn, the tech, had to cut a hole in sheet rock in my kitchen to get to it.  He had to climb on the counter top and reach over the cabinet to get to it.  I don't know how he managed, but he did, and he never quit smiling.  He was happy to help.  I happened to find some drywall in my closet, and he even covered the hole for me.  Then he cleaned everything and even swept up my kitchen, since he had the broom, anyway.  While he was working on that, I asked for an estimate to fix a clog in the drain for my washing machine and made an appointment for him to come out and fix it.  He ended up replacing quite a bit of deteriorated pipe, which he didn't expect, but stuck very close to the original estimate.  He was happy and energetic, and just so pleasant.  While he was working on the drain, I asked for an estimate to replace the tankless water heater with a regular tank.

I finally decided the tankless water heater has to go.  If it's this hard to get serviced, there's really no point in having it.  The estimate was about the same as others I've gotten.  I asked for Quinn to come and replace it.  He's here now swapping the water heaters out.  He's smiling and helpful and kind, as always.  

We hit a minor snafu with financing.  It wasn't my mistake or Bud's.  The financial institution made an error, and I was having a hard time getting them to understand the problem.  The admin team at Bud's took it on and found out the issue.  They're working with the financial institution to resolve the problem.  They could have told me it's between the financial institution and me, and that I'd have to handle it myself, but they chose to step in and help me.  That means alot.

Any company can have a good day and get a great review.  I've called on them several times now, and they are consistent.  Angie knows my phone number.  I don't know if that's good or bad!  Every time I've called, I've been treated with respect and a genuinely helpful attitude.  The whole water heater issue has been a journey.  I appreciate their patience as I kept changing my mind, calling to ask even more questions, and then finally making a decision.  I could go on, but my point is, I would absolutely recommend them.

We used Buds to install our Mitsubishi split system in our 100 year old house when we moved in about five years ago. Since then, we have had minimal issues with our system, and each time they have come out to service it, our technician has been friendly, knowledgable, and even educated us about how to best care for our units. Also, nearly every time we call, they have a technician out within 24-48 hours. The biggest problem we have with them are when the lines get clogged -- then the systems closest to the line clog will dump water/condensation all over the floor. This happens a LOT in the summer months when it is very hot and they are working over time, and almost always in the spring when we switch over from heat to AC. We manage it, but it isn't the best situation -- and there is apparently nothing much you can do about it. It's just how the system works/operates. Overall, we have been happy with Buds and will continue to use them in the future.

My water heater leaked on a Saturday morning. I called Bud's and a tech was there within an hour. Bryce was friendly, he made me aware of every step in the process and told me the next best options to move forward. I recommend Buds because of their fast and friendly service.

Since they came out to do my bi-annual maintenance on December 16th 2 years after my mew HVAC was installed, I have had to have them out to repair' my system, at first, every 2-5 weeks, now, at least every 6 months to a year.  The only reason to change was  because the old system had old Freon and too expensive to repiar,,,, NEVER  had this issue with the old system...PLUS EVERY TIME they come out they want to update something that has NOTHING to do with the current issue!!  Don't recommend  EVER!!

Good work, friendly staff, and responsive.  Charged $89 fee for service call, then another $220 for a $20 part and one hour repair.  Break that down and they are charging about $280 per hour for labor.  Will never use them again unless I have money I don't want.  Fair wages for fair work is what any company and customer should expect.  Recommend you look elsewhere for any work needed.

I very much like the completed work, the very fast response and plumbers knowledge. I will hire this company again. Be aware that if your issue is complex, the company may require multiple approvals during the one visit.
