Established in 2002.
My Father started a plumbing company back in July of 1977. I've been around the business for about 35 years and began my own business related to plumbing in 1998 here in the Carrollton - Farmers Branch area. On January 1st of 2012 we changed the name of our business to match our website, MyLocalPlumber.net and have had a terrific response to the name change. I love helping people, I love giving our customers options that other companies won't give. I'm blessed to employ some of the best guys in the business who will treat you honestly. I am so blessed to own and run a local neighborhood plumbing company. When our customers have to call you'd think they'd be unhappy calling a plumber but so many of our customers are like family to us that it makes it a little easier. I grew up in the Carrollton - Farmers Branch area and love the people around here so running a service business is a great way for me to be able to help people in need and interact with our great local residents.

Okay. I am not making this up, or trying to over do it. These folks are the best.  No question.  I actually had a plumbing 'emergency', and big time repair. On a four year old house, of all things.  The drain pipe to the outside backed up.  Flooded the downstairs bath, since it was the closest to the outside pipe.  This was at 6am, by the way.  After getting that part under control, I called.  Got an emergency scheduled visit, and Eddie and Andrew were out straight away.  The pipe was cleared as best it could be, and checked with a camera. Tree roots, for goodness sake.  Anyway, they scheduled for the next available day, but made sure we could last until then.  Their quote was fair.  

On the scheduled day, the diggers showed up as scheduled, and got their job done with great efficiency.  They were best.  Took great care with our front yard, as little as it is. Looked out for our soaker hoses, shrubs, and the tree. Once the pipe was exposed, it appeared that the pipe was broken when the tree was planted.  It just took a while for the roots to find it.  Well, after the hole was complete, Eddie and Andrew came back.  The pipe replace and secured.  No worries.  The quoted price was spot on, and what was paid.  You can hardly even tell the was an issue there.  

Trust me when I tell you that this has cemented my trust, and they are my plumbing company, without question or doubt.

Wow! What can I say.. unfortunately I discovered we had a gas leak.  I called a few companies and finally got this one! So thankful for them. They charged half the price, we're out here within the hour of my call and restored everything back to the way it was! Fan for life and I would recommend this business to anyone that has a need for professional plumbing!  Thank you!

Luckily found MLP after 2 other plumbers did not return the after-hour emergency message I left.  Thank goodness!  Had a major leak on the outside of the house, spewing water.  Since it was so late, the owner came out just to stop the water and see what would be needed to fix the issue the next day.  The issue was fixed the next day and very reasonably priced.  We also called them again to help with a gas leak.  The crew was amazing and found and repaired many more leaks than we thought we had.  DO NOT hesitate to make MLP a permanent contact for all plumbing needs!

IMPECCABLE customer service by the owner, Denise! She was clear, pleasant and even conversant. Not at all gruff or grunting like so many other plumbing companies out there (you all can take a lesson in customer service, men) when they answer the phone. Her licensed plumber, Eddie, was nice and even showed up a tad early & got the job done with no surprised and was out the door before I could hardly remember he was there. They were also at 30-50% more affordable than the 8 other plumbing companies I called. I have a commercial property so they also took care of all the necessary permit issues. MLP is MVP to me!! Save yourself some time and just let My Local Plumber be your local plumber for life!

I had a plumbing emergency and found out my regular plumber does not do evenings or weekends. I called My Local Plumber and the person who answered asked a lot of questions and had me send pics. She shared the pics and details with a plumber and had someone there in 20 minutes after 5 pm on a Friday. The plumber took the time to show me the issue and explain what caused it. The cost was reasonable. Moving forward, I will use them as my plumber.

We do a lot of washing at my office. Just the nature of the business. Anyway, when installing the washer and dryers in garage we had to find a way to get the water out. Instead of burrowing underneath the office we decided to install a pump and pump the water up, over the roof into the drain. Well, after a few years of pumping, the pump had pumped its last bit of water.

Called Denise who sent someone pronto. Found that a few years of linen had piled up in the pump. It was ugly (and smelly!).They found a new pump and had it installed within a few days. They will be designing a filter for the system to better keep the nasty lint out. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Thanks to My Local Plumber for saving the day once again.

I cannot say enough about these guys! Absolutely wonderful! I could not get anyone to help me and I had water coming up through my wood flooring. I feel like they were my nights in shining armor! THEN, they gave me the bill...I was quaking in my water logged boots. Here it comes, I thought...wait...what??? That's all??? How can that be??? Who are you people??? Shouldn't I be selling off a kidney right now to pay for this?? Nope, not My Local Plumber! I get to keep my kidney and even buy another with the money that I saved. Thank you My Local Plumber. I will be a customer for life, even thought I hope I don't have to see you very often...no offense. :-)

Great Service and very informative.  I wanted them to check my washing machine cold water line before I made a decision to purchase a new washing machine.  I already new my washing machine was  stuck and would not move.  While the plumber was working on my sink drain and installing a garbage disposal his apprentice was very determine to figure out why my washing machine was not moving. So he was successful and had that area ready for the plumber to check my cold water line.   They are very reasonable and I was very pleased with their workmanship.  KUDOS to My Local Plumber

Be careful using this company. They are very expensive.  Get a price up front !! They charged over $400 to install a dishwasher for starters. Eddie , the plumber, showed up looking as if he had not showered for days and made a few rude comments while there. I was told by the owner, Denise, that master plumbers are more expensive. Ok so why are you sending a master plumber to change a dishwasher..I tried to call and reason with her but she would not let me speak and was condescending.  I know that a lot of the reviews on here are from her friends and family.  It stinks having to call a plumber but to get a bill as aggregious as what I received is very disappointing.

Called 5 plumbers in town all Top rated no one could get me in today. Usually when you have a plumbing issue it cant wait. so Worked my way on yelp to My Local Plumber, they were able to get to me within 20 minutes.

They called me when they were on the way and let me know a few minutes before arrival.  

They arrived and took care of the issue promptly.

The Rep on the phone and the gentleman that took our card and gave us a receipt were very customer service oriented.

My only gripe was the gentleman that took care of the issue, unsure if he didn't speak English well or didn't like talking to people. I had a few people in the office ask him questions and were either brushed off or given one word responses. I would recommend they tell people before he comes that he is very focused on his job and don't ask him questions

Other than that A-Okay in my book. Would do business again in the future.

Do you ever feel happy to be calling a plumber? NO. I was in a jam with a clog that frankly had to be taken care of as soon as possible. After a search I took my business to My Local Plumber and was glad I did.  Professional on the phone and the plumbers they sent out did a great job at a fair price.  I would use these guys again and will keep their card for others looking for local plumbers.  I know not all plumbing jobs are good news it is an easy fix but I feel that you can trust this company after the job they did for me.

We had an issue with our master bath toilet. I called at 8:30am, sent a pic of the broken part and they were at my house by 1:45pm. The cost was at the low end of the quote I was given over the phone. The guys were professional as they always are. We would never use another plumber.

So due to a conversation I had with Denise at My Local Plumber this morning, I am so incredibly disappointed and flabbergasted. Prior to today, my review would have been 5 stars. The only reason it is not 1 star as I review this company for the first time is because we have used them for past work, it was done without any issue, and customer service was great. The low rating is due to the customer service experience and decision today from the company to cease offering any future services to our family. We can easily find a reputable local plumbing company, yes, but it is just more disappointing that a company we have used multiple times in the past, that we have remained up-to-date on paying all invoices/bills, has chosen to stop providing services to us because we are difficult customers.

I called Denise this morning to try to understand their position and to get on the same page with their perspective, but could not make sense of where they were coming from. There were SEVERAL points made as to why they were refusing future service to us. Out of these multiple reasons, I could definitely understand and relate to one of them, which is a big inconvenience for businesses. It was due to a miscommunication between my wife and I --- and I was hoping they would understand that, would have billed us for it (which they did not), and know that it was a mistake/miscommunication issue that does happy occasionally. I had scheduled for them to come out to look at a leak issue but when they arrived on-site to assess the issue (less than 30 mins total), my wife had indicated to me that she had scheduled for an irrigation company to do the repair, understanding that the leak was due to a sprinkler issue and not a plumbing issue. I kindly apologized to Reuben and explained the situation, and he went on his way. He did not do any manual labor or have time to pull out any tools. It was simply a visual assessment of the issue. Having said that this was not well handled by my wife and I, and I understand that. We took time out of the day of a worker for the company, a trip charge at minimum, and caused Reuben to re-arrange his schedule to come out to our property. However, we were not told before-hand, during (when Reuben was on-site), or anytime after that we would need to pay or would owe anything for at least a trip charge. Now we are being penalized, in essence, for something we never had any control over. We have paid every bill/invoice that has come across our desk and are now having things that are beyond our control (outside what was mentioned above - which was clearly our fault) being held against us. Things that maybe could have and should have been billed to us were not (that is definitely not our fault and beyond our control) and now that blame is being put on us. I just don't understand the reasoning. If service is being refused because of the isolated incident mentioned above, I wish Denise would have simply said so. This is the sole reason we are choosing not to work with you again - because you forced us to mess up our schedule for that particular day and it was a disrespectful way you handled scheduling with us. But that was far from the only reason she brought up. Also, we would have willingly, without question, paid for a trip charge to cover the inconvenience, but again, that was never discussed before, during, or after the fact.

Without going deeper into the weeds on the conversation and issue, and based on my overall experience with this company, heavily weighting my review based on my customer service issue and call with the company this morning, I would like to encourage others not to use this company. They way they handled our relationship with us (a past/loyal customer that has up-to-date with any outstanding invoices) is unacceptable, disappointing, and very poor.

Denise - if you happen to follow your customer reviews and read this, I will hope that you will fully understand our situation, specifically the miscommunication I had with my wife at the time of Reuben's scheduling, accept our apology for the way that was situation was handled, and reach out to me directly if there is anything else other than that that we are at fault for that we could have controlled. I just did not appreciate how the overall issue was handled with myself and my wife this morning. I was attempting to understand your decision (which I still don't) and to explain any disconnects and issues (which I don't believe were communicated appropriately).

Not true, when I scheduled this appt it was for Friday. I was on the phone in the kitchen while my wife was in the living room. She said she had an interview on Thursday (which you probably overheard her telling me) I then said Friday will be good. I am sure you misunderstood because you heard her say Thursday, which was her interview date. The issue is that you argued with me on the phone basically saying I was lying...not cool. You didn't charge that service charge, I am sure, because you know you made a mistake.

I was actually about to change my review since you guys still arrived today to fix my leak. But after reading your comment, I see now you as the Business owner need some customer service training....Good luck.

Denise and Eddie are angels!! I had read reviews about this company and all the positive reviews made me doubt a little bit. To be honest I was skeptical of plumbers and believed good plumbers were a myth. My local plumber proved all of that wrong by quoting me without charging me for a visit upfront, showing up on time and always trying to do what was helpful for me. Before them I had just had a visit from Baker brothers who told me it would cost $50-$70k to redo my plumbing without even wanting to look at it without a $250 check. Denise and Eddie and the entire crew at my local plumber are unique. I trust them entirely and will never use another company. I recommend them to anyone who will listen all the while enjoying the great work they did at my house. Give them a call you will not regret it.

Called to replace a gas riser, ended up discovering and fixing 2 other gas leaks in attic which added to the original estimate.   Even still, total project cost was less that 2 other area plumber's initial quotes for just the riser.  

Quality work. Will use again.

We were in a bind, our kitchen faucet snapped at the sprinted hose and was not fixable so we needed to install a brand new faucet. I went to Home Depot and found a replacement faucet for our kitchen and looked to schedule a plumber for the install.

My initial plumber was not available due to travel and availability so I went I found Denise and some My Local Plumber reviews. I called to set an appointment for the next day and was told 13:00 would be the time.

The next morning I receive a text from a dispatch rep and they indicated that my appointment was not listed and we would need to reschedule. Obviously I was upset as I arranged to work from home to accommodate the time and I thought everything was in order, but it wasn't. So Denise and the team booked me for a 10:30 AM start the following day and we were visited by two gentlemen, the lead plumber was Zak, who were outstanding.

Denise also made to right as the confusion of not have another day without a kitchen sink was on her. She apologized and really made it right, beyond my expectations. Zac and the other plumber were wearing masks to protect myself and my wife and booties to protect our floors. We had a Grohe kitchen faucet that was about 10 years old, from previous owners, and getting it off the kitchen counter was way more complicated then it needed to be due to the way it had been installed and its age.

They plumbers installed the new faucet in less then 20 minutes but it took 1.5 hours to get the old one out. The new faucet is working very well and we couldn't be happier. It was a rough beginning but the My Local Plumber team really made it right. We will absolutely look to them for future plumb work.

Unfortunately my experience with this company was not good. I called about a leak coming from my garage floor. Denise was very nice and sent someone pretty quickly. They did their assessment, which took a few hours, and said the leak is on the hot water side, under the slabs. They left saying they will provide 2 quotes - one for direct repair and ne for reroute, and that I will have the quote in the next couple of days. A week passed and I still didn't get the quote, I called a few times before they finally sent it, and it was for reroute only. I had asked them for both because my insurance needed 2 options. They said they don't recommend the direct repair with it being under the slab. and they quotes $1,200 to reroute the lined, which also included cutting an area of the dry wall. So they came and did the work, and after they did the work they said we have another leak (because the meter was still going), they tried to find it but couldn't and said to watch for it and let them know if we see any hot spots or water leaking. Before I paid, I asked the plumber what the warranty was for exactly, and asked if we see the same leak, will it be covered. He said yes, because the other leak is somewhere else. So we turned on the hot water as usual, and 2 days later the same leak is back. I called and they said this is another leak, on another line. they repaired one line but this is a different line that is leaking. Min you, I have already paid $250 to diagnose, and $1,200 for repairs and I am having the same exact leak. And they are telling me it will take a whole day to diagnose again, and they charged ~$170 per hour, and then who knows how much for repairing AGAIN.
I a giving 2 stars because they answered the phone and talked to me each time. But to me, this job is not done. They quoted repairing the leak under the slab. The leak is still there, its not any smaller.

And to add, the new plumber I hired found the hot spot without 10 minutes and fixed the leak.

Called My Local Plumber to fix a laundry room clog. They came and snaked the line, said it was fixed. Three hours later I used the washer with the same stoppage problem. When I spoke to them they said they'd return and do a camera and high power rinse of the line for $800-$900. They would not address the fact that they didn't fix anything the day before, just wanted more money and price gouging. Definitely be careful with this company!

After I sent an email to My Local Plumber inquiring about their service I received an email from Denise letting me know that I was unfortunately out of their service range but referred me to another company in my area. She also offered to come further out for a little extra charge if I couldn't find someone in my area and quoted a price. I used the company she suggested and everything worked out great. Denise even followed up with me to see that everything worked out alright. If their service is a good as their customer service then you should call them right away to fix your plumbing.

Posting here too since they gave a ridiculous response to my Google review. Six minutes they were at our house - can verify this with video evidence - and they charged us $95. Sent their scam artist tile friends over to give us a quote for $4k to fix a shower floor. Just the floor. Would never call again or recommend. Read the other reviews. Buyer beware.

I started using My Local Plumber over 5 years ago as my go to resource on all things plumbing.  I'm a Real Estate agent so I deal with plumbing issues on homes my Client's are selling and buying on a daily basis.  This company has always been dependable, professional, and leverages the latest technology! Michael Rocha is my go to expert at My local plumbing.  He's very knowledgable, detailed, and shows up.  He is great with communication and easily speaks to the client in a way that helps them understand the issues that need to be addressed.  They're prices are really competitive and fair.  Since, I've used them, I recommend this company to any real estate professional to have in their pocket as a resource.  They even do work for the client before and after closing on their home.  This company is trustworthy and customer service oriented.  Look no further for a Plumbing expert!  Call the owner, Denise and ask for Michael Rocha!

If I could give no stars I would. There communication is lacking. When asking for pricing, they apparently gave me the wrong rate and then later when I questioned about the charges they stated, You got a deal. Michael is not personable at all. When I asked for clarifying questions, he asked retorical questions like, If I had my apprentice there for 4 hours working on it and charged you for 4 hours does that make sense?.  I do not appreicate being spoken to like a child. I think it comes with customer service to EXPLAIN what your charges are and why. No need to get so defensive and be rude to your customers. I did not raise my voice at him, I even asked him to clarify things for me because it could be a miscommunication. Take the time to find other options. They were at my house for an hour and charge an additional 45 minutes of travel time. Their facility is 20-25 minutes from my place. I think if you plan to charge someone more than the original estimated amount discussed you should be able to communicate that to your customers.

We had an excellent experience with My Local Plumber! Our water heater broke after work. We called the after hour emergency number, and Denise & Ruben came out that night to shut the water off to the water heater. They were both very friendly. The late night visit didn't feel rushed, and they took their time educating us on our options. They were able to get us scheduled quickly! Everyone we dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The customer service was impeccable throughout the whole process. We will definitely call them for all of our future plumbing needs!

Great service! They came out on the weekend and replaced my leaking water heater. I had to call their emergency number since it was a Saturday and the rep was really nice and helpful. She gave me the estimate and arranged for service right away. The tech got here fast, was super polite and professional and explained everything he did thoroughly. Price was fair. I'll definitely call them with any plumbing work I need in the future!

For over 30 years I've used John Holden Plumbing and now his daughter, Denise Rodriguez, has taken over as My Local Plumber, 972-418-1421. Great service! We had a wonderful experience. They fixed all leaks that other plumbers made out to be a big deal. They did it...no probs. They also moved our reverse osmosis water tank to a better area to avoid cross contamination with our garbage disposal.  Would use them again! Efficient and Professional! Michael and his apprentice was our guys. They were also very patient with us. :)

I contacted My Local Plumber after seeing them on Yelp.  They were friendly over the phone and were able to get me into their busy schedule to fix my Hot water leak Expansion tank which was leaking.  They were reasonable with their prices and had it repaired quickly.  I would use them again.

Zack arrived the day after Christmas, wearing a mask and shoe covers. He was friendly and not in a rush to leave even though it'sa holiday weekend. He explained our plumbing issue in detail but in plain words that we could explain. I feel very comfortable going forward with this company to do the repairs we need.

I've used them twice. Today was kind of an emergency because my kitchen sink was completely stopped up. They got here quickly, finished the repair quickly, and explained everything they were doing. I even got them to fix my outside faucet while they were here. Very glad I found this company, both times I've used them they've gone above and beyond to take care of me.

Called today and got same day service to come fix a leaking faucet. They had all the parts, were quick, friendly, and affordable. I will definitely be using them in the future and anyone in the Carrollton area, this should be the first place you call.

My drains in the back yard were backing up each time a heavy rain came.  I had ran across this company on my Nextdoor app and they came recommended by 4 or so people. I called and Denise was so nice and offered an appt. She even got one sooner than originally scheduled. They showed up on time, told me what they would do and about how much. They found the exit drain in the alley and it had been covered over with dirt and grass. They dug it out, snaked it for debris, tested by adding water to the drains in the yard. Took only about an hour. So thankful for this company and they do other work as well like landscaping and AC work. Will definitely use again.

The hourly rate is $250 per hour, they will not inform you of the rate when you call. I had a disposal and dishwasher install that ended up costing $750. It was no issue to bill by the hourly rate after they were done. Prior to completion I was not informed of this expensive rate. I tried working with the office with no remedy. The tech were not master plumbers and at no time did they need nothing beyond a screwdriver to complete the installs.

I would never use this company again.

Incredibly unprofessional, extremely high prices. They charged me $478 for an inspection on a leak and they claimed that there was no leak and I had to get another plumber to come out to finish the job and every single other plumber said that an inspection should never cost more than 150 bucks. Employee spent roughly 45 minutes to an hour and he claimed that he spent two hours which cost $478 just for an inspection. Also I never received my estimate to fix the issue and he claimed there's another issue to be fixed. I highly recommend staying away from this business.

Definitely did not disappoint! Denise offered me a great quote on Yelp and I called a few days later. Completely courteous and kind all around, and the guys were out to my house a few days later. Installed the pressure regulator I needed, and everything is great! My pipes don't wobble or make noise anymore and I can actually get the type of pressure I need at my sink and shower.

They offer a nice 10% off for new customers and the final price was hundreds less than others were quoting me. Will definitely do business with these guys again!

I will use My Local Plumber every time an issue arises. Their customer service and schedulers are very polite and professional. They understand your stress and show empathy for your situation. I was very stressed when I found a leak in my foundation and they assured me I was in good hands and they were right. My Local plumbers technicians were on time and very professional. They treated me with respect and answered all my questions, they kept me well informed through the entire process, were very friendly and cleaned up their mess as if they were never here. They are very fair on pricing. Best In Class!

These guys are the best.  They've been working on my house for years and always come through, doing a great job at a reasonable price.  Just a couple of days ago, they cleared the antiquated pipes beneath my house and all is working well for the time being. When it's time to eventually replace those pipes, I know who we'll be using for that job.

I had a hot water slab leak.  My Local Plumber was very responsive and came out right away and diagnosed the problem.  They fixed the leak and were very clean doing the job.  I will continue to use My Local Plumber!

We had a clogs in our pipe and called our home warranty company to have someone come out. The plumber that was sent cleared our line but a few days later we had a clog again. The same company came back out and cleared it again. They ran a camera down our pipes and told us that our pipes were corroded under the house and that we would need to replace 52 feet of piping and excavate our entire yard to do this. They gave us a quote of 25k and tried to give us ideas on how to scam our insurance company. After hearing about the insurance fraud we immediately no longer trusted this plumber. I had seen a million reviews for My Local Plumber on next door and called then out for a quote. They came and ran a camera through our pipes and found NO ISSUE. The previous company tried to completely rip us off.

I can't say enough good things about my local plumber. I'm so glad we found a company that operates on integrity and is fair. There are still good people in the world and My local plumber is run by them!

I called around to several different plumbers in carrollton when the hose spicket on the outside of my house froze.  My local plumber was the cheapest of everyone and had an appointment available the next day so I decided to try them. I LOVED them! They knew immediately what the problem was, had it fixed in 20 minutes, and was over $100 cheaper than thr closest other quote I got. I will use them every time from here on out!!!

I give them two stars: one of them, out of pity for the office manager that has to argue (literally) with customers about being charged for their plumber's driving time. Goodness, that poor, bitter lady! The other star is for the fact that the plumbers fixed a teeny little leak on a sink faucet...and I got a new customer discount of 10% off of labor!  Rock on!

But wait...

The 3 non-existent stars? Unfortunately for them, it was a couple of things: a) the extra drive time charge of $80 and b) the fact that I could have gotten the cartridge that they replaced for $40, but they charged $124.40 and did not present a receipt for it. My total invoice for less than 2 hours of work was $482.15 to repair a teeny little leak on a faucet. That's what is costing them a 2-star overall review.

Nevermind the fact that I could have purchased an ENTIRE new sink for that price.

If you do business with My Local Plumber, on the day of the service, be sure to ask how far the plumbers are going to have to drive to get to your home (or business). You will be charged $159 per hour for ALL drive time, outside of the amount of time that it takes for them to repair your issue. How do I know this? Because not only was I charged for their drive time (which could have included sitting in their car eating Whataburger or talking on their phones for all I know), but I also received a message from the office manager herself, explaining that they do not have a service call fee, but they charge for drive time INSTEAD. If the plumbers are driving from downtown Dallas to McKinney to come service your repairs, you're paying $159 for their drive time. Basically, there's your service call fee.

I have a very low tolerance for companies that don't incentivize their workers to be as productive as possible and instead, make it their own customer's problem (I mean, why rush to the next job when they know they are getting paid no matter what?).

My advice to you, go with Atlas Plumbing or one of the other 400 plumbers in the DFW area to keep your cortisol levels low and remove the stress.

Y'all know that I LOVE giving positive reviews, but this is one company that just doesn't deserve it, nor do they deserve one more second of my time. Done.

The drain fell off after three months.

When I first called them I asked if there were warrantee coverage. None was claimed or denied.

They came out and fixed it. Based on the first time pricing of labor for $400+ I was surprised that they only charged $140-150 for this time.

There's no warrantee coverage because the pipe was damaged by mopping or something but this was never communicated to me.

If better communication was provided maybe there wouldn't be this misunderstanding.

I give them:
5 stars for coming out as quickly as they could
4 stars for charging only $140-150
1 star for no warrantee coverage
2 star averaging.

Had My Local Plumber out to install a tub/shower combo. On the first visit, they cut one of the shower walls incorrectly and had to order a new piece. They came back one week later only to realize they had ordered the wrong part. They returned again a week later with the correct part and finished the installation. Unfortunately for me, they installed the entire set off center, requiring me to call a drywall company. On top of all of the problems that they caused, they proceeded to send me a $300 bill for the costs associated with the extra trips.
