Since the saga that I reported on several years ago concerning our electric meter everything has worked just fine. Milestone has now added HVAC and plumbing to their list of services so they could do it all for the home owner.  And if you have a billing problem they caused they responded in a responsible manner. We noted a charge on our credit card statement from Milestone recently and contacted them. They acknowledge the mistake and gave us a full refund. Still get 5 stars.

First of all the technician did good work and was professional. We have used them in the past for varies jobs and pricing was a little high but manageable. The reason for only 2 stars is because of outrageous pricing. $550 to replace outside threaded water spigot. There were no underlying issues and this was a straight forward 10 minute job.

They just made a decent profit off of our household. This is the last time we will use them as they have now priced themselves out of our budget. In good conscience, unfortunately, I can no longer recommend them.

$25,000 for a tankless water heater!!
Unbelievable wife and I have been getting quotes and milestone made it very clear when their salesman came out that they would much rather install a regular water heater. We explained that we wanted tankless. Of all the quotes we received milestone won by $19,000. We received numerous other quotes ranging from 4k -6k. Never seen a salesman waste so much time to bid not to get a job in my life. 1.5 hours to write down 3 bullet point and $25,000 ... We got sucked years ago into the AC prices and it is terrible to see that they are still taking advantage of people

Asked to have someone out for a hose bib replacement. They came the next day, he was courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. But the cost knocked the wind out of me. In less than 15 minutes he unscrewed the old bib off, replaced it, and handed me a $550 bill.. I looked up the part and it's between $25-$35. No warranty or extra deals are worth the extra $500 Milestone tagged on.. the only reason I am giving it any stars is because the technician was willing to share his knowledge and show me how to do these things myself in the future. I feel like I got taken advantage of and have learned I should just keep YouTubing how to fix things myself..

Had copper drain pipe leaking behind wall at kitchen sink.  Milestone came sooner than any plumbing service I had called.  Syres came Saturday morning and repaired.  He was knowledgeable, efficient and professional.
Great work .

Another review echoing earlier ones...Milestone's prices are far too high. I feel sorry for the people who pay it with no questions asked.

I needed one bathroom faucet replaced and one simple bathtub faucet handle. The technician (who was friendly) presented me with a price of $882 ($759 for Advantage members). This much for a job the technician said would take about an hour! Mind you, I already have the faucet parts so this was for labor only. Really unbelievable.

I've had faucets replaced before and have paid less than a third of that for the exact same repair. After I said I wouldn't be having him do the work, the technician went outside to write up my service call invoice. When he returned he magically presented me with the Managers Special price of $396. That price is definitely more in line with what it should've been to begin with, but by then I knew I didn't want to give them another dime. It was like being at a car dealership haggling over some ever-moving target of a price! I don't want to pay higher prices to support their bloated overhead when I can get the same job done for $150-200 hr. plus parts from smaller shops with less overhead.

The only reason I called Milestone to begin with was because a friend had suggested it and they were available the next day. I'll definitely be telling her that she's being overcharged and for future reference, give her the name of the plumber who's on their way to do the job for less than $300.

I had Milestone come out to do some work on my A/C unit. They were amazing!
I used the online booking tool, which was super convenient. The tech that came out was knowledgeable and did a great job. They offer a monthly membership that provides a bi-annual tune-up and A/C maintenance, love that! I'll be using Milestone the next time I need a service for my HVAC, plumbing, or electric.

Same story; different reviewer: The service and friendliness is top notch in the business. On the other hand, their over-the-top sales push and pricing makes them a subpar company. I paid over $500 today for a visit that other electricians quoted around $200 to do. The only reason I paid it was because they were already here and I would've still had to pay $100 for their diagnostic and estimate.

In short, the guys are great and knowledgeable, but you can easily find the same service cheaper somewhere else.

Note: A warranty doesn't matter when I can pay someone else two to three times over to fix the same problem.

Some how my review I left yesterday is not listed. So I will submit another one. Was quoted 10k for 3 circuit restoration or 30k for a total rewire. No other options were presented to me via quotes to fix the problems that I reported. Home built in the late 50's had 3 circuits that quit working. I discovered I did not have power due to loose connections on outlet's and switches. Tech told me the circuits did not have power which was correct, but this was due to loose connections that he did not resolve. I repaired all the loose connections and restored power to the outlets and switches. I was left with a feeling that my house was in a serious condition. Houses built in the late 50's no doubt have some items that need to be looked at, I get that, but not to the extreme cost of 10k or 30k. I hired another Electrician and for $249.00 the loose ends were taken care of. I might add that I believe the techs work on commission that's how they make a living. I am the type of man that understands the reasons why they work this way, and I am totally ok with paying a fair reasonable price for services offered, but let's be real for a moment, 10k or 30k for the job, no way in heck is this a reasonable fair price for the services they were going to charge me. Find a honest company that has integrity, and get multiple quotes for services. This appears to be the way the world works now days and continues to get worse in time.If the tech would have taken 15 minutes or so he would have found the breaks in the power. I believe he spent more time writing up the quotes compared to troubleshooting. This could have
been a quick and easy repair job instead of pricing out way over priced options to resolve the issues. They appear to be focused on selling service opposed to resolving the root causes for the failures. My opinion stay away from this company and other big box companies. Go with a company that is focused on fixing your problems opposed to selling you services. I went with a smaller company that is trying to establish themselves in the market place. I went with HopToIt Electrican for my repairs they were awesome. Do your research and get multiple offers. Don't be a victim.

Service tech was very nice but their pricing is ridiculous. Ludicrous levels. Needed a fan, motor and housing replaced on a package unit. $2800 but less if I sign up for their annual service plan. So I replaced the part and the AC still has problems with freezing coils, so now its not running. I never had that problem before, but OK. What's that going to cost??? oh yeah the coils are kind of corroded so they need replacement at some point.

Vacuum  the line $329
Recovery of refrigeraby $329
8lb of 410 refrigerant @ $129/lb=$1032
TXV valve replacement  $1579
That's $3219
Plus
New Evaporator coil: $5500
Total: $8719 to fix AC (after I paid $2400). Well that's double the value of a new unit  I asked what the price would be for having a new unit installed by them... Oh about $24,000. yup you heard that right. A new unit probably runs about $4000 but you need a crane so installation is a bigger expense. Long story short is that I replaced the package unit (2 stage so it's better) for $11,000 out the door fully installed by someone else. Don't waste your time with them if they are ripping people off that much.

AC wasn't keeping up so my wife called Milestone and had them come out. My unit is under warranty and they said there was a leak in the evaporator coil. They had her sign up for a membership and told her it would cost almost 3k to replace under warranty? She paid half and they said they'd come back when the part came in. After she told me this I checked online and read
AC evaporator coil replacement costs $650 to $2,400 if not under warranty or $400 to $1,000 if under warranty for labor and refrigerant.
I don't understand why it cost so much. At this point they already have half the money and I'll end up paying twice as much as the high end recommended online.

I was in need of a plumber ASAP to change out 3 valves for new shower hardware and a new shower liner for the master shower to get the tiles guys started.
I called Milestone. They booked me right away and the staff is friendly. However, they're pricing IS INSANE!!! To add the 3 valves and shower liner was a over $6k - he talked me into getting the membership to give me a 15% discount on future services.
I then needed to add faucets & ptrap to 6 rooms and put in a free standing tub that has already had all the plumbing done prior.
Without membership that price was $8,271 and with my amazing membership I could get these services for $7,326  like REALLY???
I posted on Facebook moms page for a plumbing referral and was referred to another company. They quoted me for everything and the total was $3,500 with no membership. So if you go apples to apples. I save $4,771 by just using them over Milestone.
They're pricing is seriously crazy! No clue where they got their reviews on Google. Maybe the company hires people to leave them.
Anyways, here's my honest review with my honest prices.
I hope this helps someone before they've invested too much money with the WRONG business!
Might look different to read each quote. They both cover the exact same services!

I would give these guys one star, but what brings it up to a 2 is that the technicians are very friendly and courteous.

After having Milestone to the house 4-5 times to look at two separate issues, $500 later and they didn't resolve either issue. They tried, but were not successful. Along the way, at each turn, I was offered packages of work that were increasingly ridiculously expensive, up to $17,000 to 'repair and improve' one HVAC system.

Technicians should be fixing what is wrong, not looking for opaque ways to separate you from your money. It actually comes off as ridiculous.

This is a follow up from my prior review. We did have a new heat pump system installed by Milestone. On the day the install was schedule a crew of 6 arrived promptly as scheduled to disconnect the old system and install the new system. In around 6 hours the new state of the art system was installed and up and running cooling the house down as fast as we've ever seen in. The crew cleaned up perfectly showed us how the system works and thanked us for trusting Milestone.

The next day, another crew from Milestone arrived to clean our ducts which hadn't been cleaned in over 10 years. My wife and I can only imagine what they found in the ducts. The cleaning job took around 2 hours. The crew was very efficient and ensured everything was covered around the ducts that were being cleaned. We were very impressed with their professionalism attention to detail.

$5k-10k for vent system cleaning?! They came out to do A/C servicing late in the afternoon, scheduled right away for next morning to do a full cleaning, my guess is so we couldn't call around. I called another place and they quoted $650 for the advanced package. They really planned to have one guy come out, work a day and collect $10k. This company preys on unknowing people.

I've never had evidence of a company sabotaging equipment, but I do now.

Luis came out for the tune up service a little over a month ago for our HVAC system. It was more of a sales pitch than anything else.

Well it turns out besides the fact he didn't put back our filter cartridge into one of our units, which we found out a couple of weeks later when we had to replace it, but he left open a valve which leaked all of our refrigerant. We called a different company and this is what he relayed to us. Interestingly, Luis had brought up it would be awful for the refrigerant to leak. 'it gets expensive.'

This guy is a crook.

Dallas area is experiencing a heat wave and a lot of starter/run capacitors are going bad on the AC units. I expected that was my problem and called for milestone service since I could not find one.

The service technician was great. He was knowledgable and did a great job checking the system. However after putting a one capacitor in he said that the charge is $700. This is outrages. You can buy this part all over the internet for an average of $21.00. Unfortunately most people do not know how to do this and install it.

I had him put my bad capacitor back in, paid a service fee and I ordered one. Thank you Grainger for getting it to me the next day.

In my opinion I think milestone is taking advantage of people during this time  of excessive heat.

They did some electrical and plumbing work somewhat extensive,
I question their estimate process as they have different quotes
from different employees.  I think they are told to get as much as
as the customer will agree to. The work was subpar.

Service tech were nice but way over priced. I had some loose wires that tripped my breaker, which was in one bedroom only. Most electricians charge by the hour but they instead do packages. Again, service techs were nice but there is no way I'm using this company again. $530 for moderate troubleshooting package, all just to fix some loose wires, 4 electrical outlet. Less than 2 hours, and I feel like for the type of problem it was it should have been way less. I think I must have looked at the wrong reviews online, maybe another location had much better reviews. Very disappointed with this company! I hope others customers will see this review and think twice about hiring this company. By the way, I'm not a cheap person but I also know when I've over paid.

My experience with this company is bittersweet. They were almost always professional and courteous. We were a member of their advantage but there was no value there for us. When we tried to implement our advantage, they sent out a guy who basically told me he could not do my free service. By free, I mean that, if you are a member of their club they will clean your drain once a year for free. To get the free cleaning you pay $20 a month, which adds up to about what one cleaning would cost anyway. The tech explained why he couldn't do the free part. But then he charged me $100 per bathroom to unblock my obstruction. When he left my situation was worse. It was funny that he couldn't do the free cleaning but he could sure try to get me a deal on 60k worth of work. I spoke to numerous rounds of managers explaining that I don't expect anything unethical and I would like the same in return. They assured me that the warranty department would sort this out. Mind you, I arranged this while I was initially on vacation so as not to interrupt my work schedule. Well, I end up making arrangements to come home from work to be there for the warranty guy. They send me the same guy that I did not get good service from last time. After they assured me(Gage assured me. Danny was a manager and as was man named David. All told me they wanted me to be satisfied and how could this be made right)
I insisted that I don't expect free service. I know I have a problem. Well, after several of what I can only describe as empty promises, I felt like they were changing their story. Dodging responsibility and putting the onus on me. I got a refund for my non services rendered and cancelled my subscription with them. Buyer beware. I don't have time to go back and forth. If you cannot help me, just say so. I will seek another avenue. But it is not ethical to say that you would like to work this out and then jerk me around.

I am disappointed but if they don't want my business, there are many other companies to choose. Have a great day! ;)

A young plumber came out to replace a valve underneath the kitchen sink. $1500 later, on his way out, he said we would need new faucet hardware because the cold water couldn't be turned all the way off, and since I was on a work call, I didn't have a chance to ask a question about that. Well, he was correct, we do need to replace the faucet, but we didn't before he came, and he was dishonest and said he never touched it. True, it is not that expensive but it's a hassle and I didn't appreciate the guy not taking responsibility.

NO INTEGRITY
He gave me a 460 price based on his estimate that's it would take a hour and a half. My 86 father begged me to let him do it. Promised me it would take him 15 minutes. Dad was right. The tech Tim Lewis did the job then sat in his truck on his phone for an hour. I went out to the truck. I said as long as you're here have work you could do to help me out. He said , We don't work by the hour. Welll they sure quoted hours when they were getting me to accept that 460 dollar price. What a rip off. They don't make men like Dad anymore. Tim Lewis could of at least given me an hour and a half of work.

The circuit braker to my electric furnace, located in the garage, flipped the other day and the blower on my furnace stopped running. I flipped it back on and the furnace started up.  It did the same thing a few days later but this time it wouldn't start when I flipped the braker on so I called Milestone. Scott came out with a helper and told me he couldn't get power to the furnace, I'd need their electrician to come look at it the next morning. He also told me everything that was wrong with the furnace, mainly age and rust.  He priced all sorts of repairs it might need after the power issue was resolved. The cheapest thing was a new blower motor, $1400.  These motors cost about $150 on Amazon. This really isn't the issue though.  Before the electrician arrived, I decided to go up in the attic to check the furnace myself. I found that there is a circuit breaker on the furnace itself, one to the blower and one   to the heating element. Both switches were off. When I turned them on the furnace worked fine. I conclude Scott is either totally incompetent or he is a crook.  He didn't act incompetent to me. He gave me a 15-minute sales pitch, including a video presentation pointing out all the rust, mold, etc. on my unit.

DO NOT USE MILESTONE!!!

Extremely pricey! Customer service never mentioned a consult charge when I called. Plumber showed up to quote me on replacing a kitchen sink. He was 21 yrs old and had no idea what farmhouse sink was, and yet he stated he has installed million sinks lol... His attitude and lack of knowledge was a turn off. How do they expect me to say yes to a crappy sales pitch and pay an inexperienced plumber over $1,500 to simply install a sink??? I can't imagine how much they paid google to bump up their reviews to whopping 4.9 stars... I am 1000% sure you can find a better priced plumber out there that would cost you a fraction of what these guys charge.

I used Milestone for several services because I thought they were a good company based on their advertisements. They incorrectly installed an ac unit( I bought 3 from them) and they flooded my media room. I had them replace things with their companies they hired. They got mad because I wanted things back as they were not in worse condition. They have now decided to remove my 5 year maintenance plan because I complain. What??? All I wanted was them to put my room back as it was, nothing extra. Terrible company. I really think if I could get ahold of the owners it would be resolved but when I try they wont let me

Changing my rating for Milestone to a 2 star since their follow up accounting and billing has been aweful.  They made repairs to a rental, where if I signed up for some service plan, I got a discount that paid for the plan, so I did it.  I was in the process of selling the rental and knew I wouldn't need it anymore, although it would transfer.  Later, they kept calling me about scheduling service, which I told them I didn't own the house and cancel the account.  They continued to keep calling me and everytime I told them to cancel, which didn't happen.  Now, they started sending invoices for renewals and I don't need and had to cancel again.  It's continuous and they don't get it.

I kept it at a 2 star, because at least the front line guy that did the repair did a good job.  The fact that this would happen again, I wouldn't call them again at all.

I'd like to give another shout-out kudos to Milestone for their help this week. I called because I was looking to get my dryer vent cleaned. They don't do this work, but referred me to Hank's Handyman Services, who does do this. I definitely would trust Milestone's recommendations because I was very pleased with Hank's. They came out yesterday & did a great job!!! For my larger jobs; HVAC, plumbing & electric, it's always Milestone for me. Now for handman type jobs, it will be Hank's. Thank you, Milestone!! We had a plumbing pipe break recently and called Milestone to repair. David came out the next day, evaluated the problem and proceeded to fixed it.  He explained the issue, told us how he was going to fix it, gave us a fair price and put the repair in motion.  This was a major job, a 12ft hole had to be dug outside next to the exterior bathroom wall, a new pipe had to be installed, which required an inspector to come out and sign off on the work. Once repaired, the hole had to be re-filled.  It took a few days for the entire job to finish but we were pleased with the work and  the bathroom is back in order.  David and his crew were respectful of my home, very clean, (they always wear booties), knowledgeable, and kept me informed through process. They were also safe and took precautions both inside and outside my home. I received a fair price for the amount of work required and will definitely call Milestone again. They aren't the cheapest plumber in DFW but, you get what you pay for, especially for a major plumbing job. If you are looking for good service and efficient and knowledgeable plumbing professionals, at a competitive price, call Milestone.   We also use them for our electrical work and have never had an issue. I don't have before photos because, who wants to see a gross, smelly sewage problem?!?  Here is the bathroom after they left - super clean and no backed-up sewage. Great job!

OnCor discovered a burned wire behind my electric meter and advised me that I had to contact an electrician to repair and pull a permit from the city. When I called DeSoto for names of companies permitted to do work in the city, I was given the name Milestone. The electrical company I had used in the past was not permitted to do work in DeSoto.

Electrical technician Scott Clark did an outstanding job. Also the electrical panel had to be moved from my closet to the outside to meet city code.
Scott is personable and professional and was a pleasure to talk to. Since then he recently installed a light in my master bath. While leaving the house, he noticed small pools of water near my foundation. I authorized him to call in Milestone plumber service for me. Milestone plumber Corey Walker discovered that I had a very small pinhole leak near a cutoff valve.  He showed me how my meter was spinning even with the water valve was shut off. Repair has been scheduled and my water bill should get some relief after the repair is made.

Milestone has shown that they have great service technicians. I recently met Ivan who performed an HVAC check as part of the Milestone Maintenance Plan (MAM) that I signed for.
All contractors were very professional and I felt comfortable talking to them. There is no sales pitch or upsale, just straight talk. They actually give options if work needs to be done.

Looks like I have found a one stop shop for most of my home maintenance needs.

I had to use Milestone a couple weeks ago and the service tech was great. charged me 900.00 after the repairs to only find out the issue was actually on the city side. But since tech was so professional I Joined the Milestone service
plan. I talked to my dad and he liked what they had to offer and he joined as well. Not thinking he would need to use them any time soon, his water heater went out. He went and bought the same water heater and called milestone to come out and replace it. Milestone wanted to charge him $1,100 dollars in labor just to replace the water heater that only took me 45 minutes after I drained it to change out. they also said his water pressure was to high and wanted to charge 2 to 3 thousand more to fix the issue. He told them no thank you and just like me canceled his monthly member ship. Yes the service call was within business hours on a Friday and $1,1000 to replace a water heater is highway robbery. I am going to post this on google, YouTube, and Facebook to give other people a heads up before using you.

I was transferred out of town and sold my local home. The conditions of the sale we we had the A/C serviced to execute the contract. We called Milestone. They wanted to come that day but I explained that we were in another city during the week, but could be at the house on Saturday. They said they could schedule us between 8 and 11. Saturday I was at the house by 7:30 and waited. At 10:54 I received a call. I thought it was great they were calling to say they were late. BOY WAS I WRONG.

They called to say they were not coming!!  3 day notice and an explanation that it must be done or the buyers would cancel the contract on the house! They did not call at 8am or the day before, but 6 minutes before arrival, they called and said they could not do what they had promised.

After 45 minutes on the phone and literal begging I found someone to help. They rescheduled the visit for later in the day which was fine.

Max came out to service the AC and he was fantastic. Polite , professional, and very helpful. He was fantastic. Thank you very much!

I would give a 5 star rating but I should not have had to beg to get them to keep their appointment.

I would not recommend this company.  I was overcharged way too much for a heating and ac replacement.  I paid for a Lennox unit inside and out $10K.

The when I asked for an estimate to replace a water heater it was $5 to $6k.

Do not use, don't bother to call this company.

I have a clogged toilet maybe from my boys accidentally flushing something but I used liquid drain cleaner to see if would fix the issue. It didn't so I called milestone the guy Chris took my call and gave me a price of $199 but said they had a membership deal for $240 for a year with drain clear for free so I went with that because they also service AC units well the technician came to my house and spent 10 minutes not checking the drain and said you need a new toilet you can go through us and spend $500-$2900 . He didn't check to see if the problem was in the drain itself he also said if I buy the toilet the would install it for me I ask for a price for installation none was given and I called twice and no return call I would like my $240 back minus the cost to come out because nothing was done only and outrageous price quote for a new toilet just because I live in a brand new home

I called Milestone out on 2.10.2022 for a water leak on an exterior line. I ended up paying them $548 to dig a hole and break one of the stones for my entryway. The lead plumber told me that the leak was in the middle of my driveway and I would have to have a completely new water line run. He figured this out with only a pressure test and without using a leak detector and digging a hole next to the driveway. He went and sat in his truck for a long time and came back with an estimate of nearly $7500 but only if I signed up for their year long preventive maintenance plan which they would roll into the cost of the repair. I found this price to be rather extreme and he went back out to his truck and came back with a new estimate of $6975, I still had to sign up for their yearlong preventive maintenance plan. Advising I would like to get another estimate on the repairs I was charged the $548 and given one week to pay them the $6975 or I would have to pay them $7523 because they would not credit me for the work that was done, the digging of the hole and spending time in their truck.
We had another plumber come out and they found the leak less than 10 inches from where they stopped digging. It was repaired and didn't cost the better part of $8000. So no I would not recommend them for any work, unless you like paying someone $550 to come out and dig a hole for you, and don't forget you have to include that yearlong service plan that you don't want and don't need but if you don't get they will charge you so much more!

Absolutely the worst. $635 to come out to check why I had no power going to a ceiling fan?? Really?  Then the tech really told my wife it should be called the scamdemic. Totally unprofessional. The only scam going here is their pricing. Had I been home for the service call, I would have totally not accepted them to do any work when quoted the outrageous price they wanted. They should change the their tune from we'll fix it in a flash. To  we'll f@$k you in a flash Never again. I promise you that.

Update: 09/14/2020 I received a generic response to my review. About your reasons for charging higher prices. Complete BS and absolutely insulting. I've seen this same response to countless other bad reviews. No way will I be calling you back to discuss anything. I'm not going to waste my time. I have counted my losses and I'm moving on. Never will your services be requested at my household. I will also be sure to share with close friends about my experience.  Unfortunately you will continue to stay in business by charging ridiculous prices. Hopefully this message will guide people away from you.

I had a dripping faucet in the main tub and a toilet that wouldn't auto fill.  The agent was super friendly and they came out the next day.  I normally do minor repairs myself but recently had surgery.  After assessing the job, (I already knew what needed to be done) the tech quoted me more that $1,100  and that included the 15% discount for being a member. After I stopped laughing, the tech asked me how much I had in mind!  I didn't realize this was a bartering situation!  I found a local plumber who was insured and bonded and the job was done perfectly for under $400.  I wish I had found him first.  I have since cancelled my membership with Milestone.  Techs are obviously on a commision to quote as much as they think they can get. I am disgusted with this service.

I called Milestone to come out and flush my tankless water heater. Tech did a free home inspection, and then went out to his truck to write up my evaluation and quote. When he presented the information, I was shocked. They quoted roughly $700 to descale/flush my tankless water heater, roughly a 45 minute job, then tried to sell a $3800 Flowtech whole house descaling unit. I would've paid $300 to have my tankless water heater flushed and Descaled, but I knew that this pricing was way out of line with what the job required. I paid the $99 service call fee, and escoythe service Tech out of my house. Someone has to pay for all of their television advertising, the embroidered uniforms that their service techs will wear, the voice over songs on their television commercials, as well as their nicely painted trucks. Do not call Milestone unless you wish to have your bank account emptied by overpriced plumbing, electrical, HVAC services. I'm extremely disappointed in this company and the obvious predatory services that they attempt to sell.

Some of the technicians have been fantastic. I did, however, have a plumber that overcharged me significantly and tried some funny business to rip me off more which I put a stop to. I told the guy who finished the work and he said he got approval for a refund from the manager. It's been a month and no refund. I called today to check on it and no resolution yet. Also, I was told the original plumber has overcharged in this manner before. Not sure why they keep a fit who is ripping customers off. They're very expensive as well compared to other companies.

They don't even deserve a One Rating. They are Crooks. They took advantage of my 80 year old mother living only on Social Security with no more than $2,000 in her bank account and who'd suffered from strokes memory loss. They approached her and first overcharged her by at least $5,000 for an air conditioning unit that should have been no more than $7,000 but cost $12,000! and then without her understanding signed her up with a preditory loan company Greenstar that charges a High Interest rate. They refuse to refund anything or work with the family in anyway since they were paid off by the loan company!!! Horribly deceptive practice!

My home needed a leaky faucet repair and replacement of two on/off handles under the sink. I thought the cost of $700 was steep for a service call, one hour on site and replacement parts.

My main complaint is the intensity of the up-selling process. I had to tell the service technician three times that I wanted to repair the faucet only.

My customer wishes in my home appeared to have no effect on the tech's required sales process.

I was asked if I wanted to replace the faucet hardware on two sinks. The two faucets in my bathroom are of good quality not requiring replacement. I answered NO.

The tech offered some incomprehensible double speak offer about replacing or repairing the toilet in my bathroom for free if I would agree to replace the faucets. The toilet has no service issues. I answered NO.

The tech reviewed a handwritten note of different service options ranging from $1400 to the lowest priced option of $700. The option of just repairing the faucet was folded under and out of sight. I was forced to listen to the entire  up sell pitch. I had to specifically ask what is the price to just make repairs. I started to feel like a contestant on Deal or No Deal. I answered NO to the premium options.

The next issue was the monthly service plan. I answered NO. The tech insisted that I was already on a service plan. I told him that I did not sign up for any monthly plan. I insisted he call his office so that I/we could verify his info. I recently had Milestone install a replacement heating & air system and did not sign up for any monthly service plan. Again, the tech offered unclear double speak.

Unfortunately, I almost lost my temper. I stopped actively listening and my responses got sharp and pointed. My focus changed to completing the service call and getting this tech out of my home.

On the reverse side, I have had other friendly and service oriented Milestone techs who listened to my needs as the customer.

Please do not send this specific tech to my home again.

You know the jingle and you hear them advertise on your favorite tv and radio stations, so when you have an electrical emergency, you call them. I'll never make that mistake again.

Half the power in my house (including my heat) went out on a very cold day, so I called Milestone. Initially I was impressed because they were able to get someone out that same day. The 2 technicians were very nice and professional and that's where the good ends. After 30 minutes, a whole home inspection and nearly $600, I was left with no heat (they convinced me I would be risking frying the electric panel if I turned it on) and a recommendation to replace the electrical panel to the tune of $8000. They qualified the $8k quote with talk of city permits and fines from the electric company. Fortunately, I opted to get an additional quote.

On the recommendation of a friend, we called Oncor that evening and had them come out to see if there was an issue on their end. They did find that the issue was within the house, replaced our meter (free of charge) and recommended we call another electrician as the electrical panel did NOT need to be replaced.

The next day, I called an electrician recommended in a Facebook group. He was also able to come out the same day. 2 hours later, he had also conducted a whole home inspection which included testing EVERY outlet in the house, replaced 2 GCI outlets, disconnected the power to a bathroom heater that needs replacing and did a complete tune up of the electrical panel, all for less than half what Milestone charged to do nothing more than write me an unnecessary $8000 quote.

The other electrician also confirmed what Oncor said; the electrical panel did NOT need to be replaced. He did say we might consider replacing the breakers at some point. He also said if we did decide to replace the panel, it would probably cost about $1800. Even with all of the (unnecessary) extras that Milestone would have performed, there's no way it should cost $8000.

Calling Milestone was an expensive $600 lesson, but I will tell anyone who will listen not to trust this unscrupulous company and their deceptive business practices. I'm sure all the 5 star reviews they've received are accurate. Milestone probably does fantastic unnecessary work, but I'd be willing to bet another $600 that the 5 star reviewers could have saved a lot of money had they supported a small business instead of this ridiculous price-gouging company.

Don't let the jingle fool ya'!

If I could give zero stars I would. Had a tech come to the house a couple of weeks ago. While the technician was very nice and professional, like a typical salesman, he was trying to sell us on a new indoor and outdoor unit at the cost of $12,000!!!!!! Turns out a mom and pop business came and fixed the outdoor unit for $750! They inspected the unit and told us we have many more years before we have to replace it. The part and labor cost us $750!! How come a small company can do that, but the big boys feel the need to take advantage of the little people. Never again, Milestone. Never again!

Had to change my rating based on my recent experience.  My AC failed and called Milestone to get it fixed.  The tech showed up on time and inspected my unit and recommended that the only resolution was to get a new unit from them.  He said that there was no temporary resolution that was possible.  He was ready to schedule a same day install and the quote was for a range between 14k to 18k.  He made several tests on my unit and said that the compressor was not functioning right and it could trip the power supply to the entire home.  I have been using this unit for many years and not once have I had an issue.

I understand the need to make a sale but to blatantly provide incorrect information just to take advantage of a bad situation is unacceptable.

I went for a second opinion with another company and they fixed my unit in a matter of 10 minutes at a cost of $79 which included changing a coil and adding coolant.

Milestone is off my list of providers permanently.  Will not use a company that has no integrity and does not care about their customers.

I had them come out to do their $129 will make your heat work better offer because my heat wasn't working properly. After inspecting my system they refused to do anything at all because I needed a $17000 new system in my 1600 sq ft house. Whey they left my heat was worse. I reached out to another company. who fixed it for less than $1000. All it really needed was a good cleaning and someone who could do the maintenance my neglected system needed. If you want someone to save your system instead of pushing you to buy a new one don't call these guys. The $129 is just a hook to get in the door; they don't want to help they want to sell a new system. And also, the person who came out suggested I talk it over with my husband. I don't have one. LOL. How insulting to a capable woman like me.

I called Milestone late Tuesday afternoon when we realized one of our AC units wasn't cooling. They sent Kelly out the next day to diagnose the problem, and unfortunately, with the age of these units, we had no choice but to make the difficult decision to replace the units; especially since it was blowing breakers. Kelly was GREAT at taking time to explain everything to us in detail, even after he left, and we were waiting on a second opinion from another company, Kelly was very generous with his time and took our calls to answer more questions. We felt that he was honest with us about what they could offer and didn't make any unsubstantiated claims, nor were any promises made that couldn't be backed up in writing.

After our second opinion, we slept on it and called Kelly back yesterday morning to say we had decided to go with Milestone, and we are so happy we did! They had all the old out and the new installed, all in one day, yesterday! Erik was our supervising technician, he was very knowledgeable and the entire Milestone team, who were in and out of the house all day, were professional and courteous. It was late when they got done and Erik came back this morning to set-up and show us how to use our smart thermostats.

While Milestone may not offer the cheapest option, you definitely get what you pay for. They are honest, up front that they don't have the cheapest option, because they don't cut corners, which we appreciate. We will continue to use Milestone for our contracting needs in the future.

We had a problem with our hvac and called the 24  line. Spoke to a live person! Told us that someone would call within 30 min to schedule the tech. Another live person called! They said they were extremely busy due to the heat but would be out between 11-2 the next day. Another live person called early in the morning to say, the tech may be a little late but definitely had us scheduled. They texted us that Rolando was on the way and he made it by 230. He fixed our problem within 30 min. In addition, he checked out the unit and at our request also our second unit since we just bought our home. Showed us pictures and videos of potential problems, (which they validate in the video as your house and not some random other units) and gave us the pricing and recommendations for various options to avoid future unplanned repairs. Also took the time, to explain how to install a new thermostat, reconnected a piece of flex duct that had come loose and changed one of the filters. This was all part of the $99 service call. I cannot say enough good things about Rolando and Milestone Air. They have gained a new customer for life

I had a good experience with them for the most part. Yes they want to sell you the whole kit and caboodle and a warranty service agreement -but just hold your ground if you don't want it. I have used them twice and they are most capable. Just be clear on what you need done and prayerfully you are not in a emergency situation.  Again they did very good work for me at a fair price but I did my homework prior to calling them and was determined not to get oversold. Very good & friendly employees.

My son installed a new ceiling fan (9 ft ceiling) in my newly built townhome but he had trouble converting the double wall switch to a single switch. I called milestone as I had used them before to hang 4 ceiling fans and a chandelier in my previous homes. I last used them 6 months ago to hang a ceiling fan in my Master BR (same townhome)--I was charged $232 (I had a $65 coupon) at that time and the electrician was at my house more than 90 minutes. So I figured the wall switch would run around $100. I almost fell over when the electrician quoted me $277. I said no way and the electrician called a manager and the price eventually went down to $212. I still felt like I was being robbed so I paid the $79 quote fee and said good bye to the electricians. Around an hour later, the manager called me and said that he would waive the quote fee because he wanted a satisfied customer and said that they could do the job for $124 total. The electricians came back and they took less than 10 minutes to install the switch. In retrospect, I am satisfied they eventually installed the switch for a reasonable price, but I feel bitter, because it shouldn't have involved this kind of drama.

Milestone HVAC just left...The service tech, Matt, seemed to know what he was doing, but when I was quoted $514 for a $20 capacitor that takes all of 5 minutes to install, I said no thanks.  He seemed more interested in selling me a new unit, than really fixing mine.  I'll install the $20 part tomorrow.  What a rip-off.  He seemed bothered by my resistance to being raked over the coals, so he left in a not so good mood.

By the way, I know it costs money to outfit a van, and to pay a worker, so I would have agreed to $100...but $500 for a capacitor is attempted robbery.  No thank you.  I'll stick with my local guys who charge what things really cost in the real world.  In case your curious, it's Lucas HVAC.

Rinnai tankless water heater error code 11 which requires cleaning of the burner plates per the owners manual.  Advised the technician of the same information upon his arrival.  We agreed to price to flush the system $321.00.  The technician was not sure how to clean burner plates without calling the manufacturer (on a Saturday afternoon) and completing a full inspection which would have increased the price of the repair.  Bottomline, technician did not complete system flush or cleaning of burner plate after removing the unit cover.  I was charged $99.00 service fee and advised to call the office on Monday to have another technician come out to flush system and clean burner plates. Still no hot water.  I just felt like the technician did not want to do the work unless I was willing to pay a price in the $600 - $700 range for a routine maintenance for this type of water heater.

I called Milestone Electric to fix a bulb that kept flashing. The electrician came out, got out his tool, found the issue, and then tightened up the wire that was causing the problem. The entire process took around 10 minutes. He spent more time conversing with me than actually doing work. He spent less than an hour at my house.

I was charged $600 and was signed up for a membership that I didn't even know I signed up for. The electrician did not explain the cost properly for me to know that I was signed up in a membership program.

I immediately called and asked for a refund and to be taken off their membership program. I was told I'd receive a refund but have never received it.

I highly suggest finding another company for your needs. Not worth the hassle!

Price gouging if you ask me taking advantage of people's money a job that's worth no more then three hundred dollars they want to charge you 2077 giving you a petty 15% discount  to make it  itook like your getting some discount.  Your company is pathetic and you shouldn't be in Business.  Making people pay for your commercials.  I will not use this business again even though I signed up for the crappy membership to get a 15% discount whoppy doo.  You pay 99.00 to get a 15% discount on your repairs a year.  Get out of here.  I don't recommend anyone to use this company. Because on top of that they keep adding and adding and giving you options where they are still adding and adding more to your bill.  What a disgrace. This Plumbing job is not all that money. I was involved in a hit and run with a milestone electric vehicle on 635 in Dallas.  The driver failed to yield right of way and fled the scene.  The damage was minimal and I recognize a hit and run on a driver's record can be a barrier to employment, so I called Milestone to rectify the situation, rather than filing charges.  Bad idea.  The denied the claim and assumed no responsibility.  Beware of companies that have the opportunity to do the right thing and chose not to.

I had Milestone out to replace a bad breaker.  A simple matter that I needed resolved and somehow got upsold on a $600 package that included annual checks of the AC and heating.

Yesterday they did the heating check.  The technician (or should I say salesman) took some video of dust in the system, some very minor heat loss and a small amount of mildew.  His quote to resolve the issue was $7,200.  Beyond insulting.

On Monday I plan to attempt to get a refund on the service.

Two visits and they gave me NO reason to trust them.

After years of using Milestone, I have to give the company a very low rating.  To be clear, this is the first time I have made a special effort to write a negative review.  Also, the generalized comments do not reflect my impressions of some of the technicians who have attended to issues at my home.
First, what was initially a company who prided themselves with efficient and prompt service has declined to the point it is extraordinarily difficult to get someone on the line who can actually help and or make a decision about repairs.  The most recent example was Friday night (6/11/2021) when we found our upstairs AC unit was not working. The source of the problem seems to be the LCD controller panel as it goes black and the AC unit stops running.  This is an intermittent issue but we go from comfortable to miserable inside of an hour.  I called Milestone's after hours line and made contact with an individual within 2-3 minutes.  She took my name and phone number and a brief description of the issue and told me a customer service representative would call me within 30 minutes.  I was confused as to the need for the initial conversation if the first person I spoke with was not able to arrange dispatch of a technician to help. It took an hour to get a call back from the customer service representative.  I related my issues to her and I was told she was be able to get someone to me Wednesday between the hours of 2 and 5 pm.  I asked if she understood my AC unit was essentially not working and she said they were to booked up to get here before that time.  I reminded her Milestone replaced my ENTIRE AC system in 2016 to a tune of over $50,000.  She admitted this was a warranty item but no technician could get there until Wednesday between the hours of 2 and 5.  She was pleasant and certainly acted concerned but there was never an offer to speak with a technician or a manager to see if a more reasonable service window could be offered.  So, as expected, we have spotty AC at best during the hottest streak of the year.
This was my most recent experience.  I had Milestone replace my smoke detectors several year ago as the original units began to go off without smoke or carbon monoxide. This was another service that cost me several thousand dollars. Within a year of installation, the new, Milestone installed, smoke detectors began to alarm without reason.  One time was in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner requiring 15 guests to go out in the cold to get away from the piercing noise. That event was temporized by a technician several hours later.  A similar event again occurred shortly after this and again several were required to get a technician here to fix the issue.  Several months passed and it again occurred and finally a technician seemed to sort out the issue which was basically faulty controller units in the new system.  He recommended replacing all of the (5) units to keep this from happening.  After a discussion with his supervisor the technician told me he was only allowed to change one unit. The technician was clearly irritated with his boss but did what he was told.  Inside of 6 months later this happened again.  Again it was another controller unit that was bad and replaced.  This happened several other times but I learned how to temporize the situation by getting up on a ladder and resetting the system.  Sometimes I would have to do this over a period of several hours.  Another episode happened late in the night/early morning.  I could not get the system to reset.  I had to send my 90 yo parents and my girlfriend and her dogs out of the house due to the noise.  The technician recognized, as noted in one of the earlier visits, that all of the controller units were bad and needed to be changed.  The exchange was performed and we've had no issues since.  It took over a year to get the problem resolved simply because a manager wanted to go cheap on warranty work.  I was extremely irritated.
Approximately 2 months ago I asked for Milestone to fix some minor issues with my bathroom faucets and to address a problem with a toilet.  After some unexpected findings I was hit up for a $5000 recommendation for a water purification system given the high mineral content in our water. I chose to go with this recommendation but have not seen an appreciable change in our water quality. The simple repair ended up costing me over $5000.
I've had my hot water heaters replaced, breaker box replaced, lighting fixtures installed all by Milestone.  I've been hit up for the yearly maintenance agreement to get upgraded service.  In reality, after approximately $100,000 of business sent to Milestone, I can't get someone to give me better care than 5-7 days to fix a broken AC system they installed. There is no excuse for such poor customer service.  I always chuckle when I'm on hold with Milestone as their phone entertainment makes you think you are so important to them.  Not so much....

We had a surge protector and landscape lighting installed several years ago.  Due to some hail and wind damage, we had our roof and gutters replaced this week.
The contractor (who is a professional firefighter) brought to my attention the dangerous, careless and unprofessional work done by milestone electric that you can see in the pictures.

When milestone installed my landscape lighting (that we paid over $3000.00 for), they sold me on their customer service, guaranteed their work, and told me that the low voltage lighting that is more commonplace today would save our family money.

I called Milestone PRIOR to posting this review.  I was told the following:
1.  Milestone has been out of the landscape business for over 2 years
2. The work was done according to code, therefore, they would not be coming out to fix the wiring.

Now we have a FIRE hazard.  Thank you fix it in a flash milestone electric.
Unbelievable.  All that money you spend on advertising could be better spent in guaranteeing your service!  That way you would get more business on referrals.

So unprofessional

I have spent over $10,000 in electrical work with them within last two weeks. They also charged for the annual membership fee. They will not take the responsibility of their work when batteries they changed two weeks ago (as part of annual maintenance program) and the smoke detector alarms started beeping all over the house. They wanted to charge $79 for the visit instead of fixing it under the warranty (which they said 5 years.)   I would never use Milestone ever again for any of their services. They are highly overpriced, their technicians use high pressure sales tactics, and propose unnecessary work. They proposed $7,600 for plumbing repairs that was less than $500 work and proposed $18,000 for HVAC repairs that is less than $1,000 work.

I will be cancelling my preferred member MAM plan membership after learning how badly I've been being ripped off. The discount that comes with being a member is worthless and their technicians are hard sellers.

I'm a first time homeowner and thought I found a great company to help with light fixture, plug, and smoke detector installations, among other things.  Shame on me for not realizing that hiring a local, licensed master electrician was around $70-$85/hour. It should not cost $150 to install a plug, $200 for a smoke detector and close to $400 for a light fixture. That's robbery and unfortunately, it took me too long to learn that. Again, shame on me, but DON'T LET IT BE SHAME ON YOU, TOO!

I've had 3 of Milestone's technicians come out and I can only recommend the first one in terms of service (Wayne), but he used scare tactics to oversell me on things (which I only realized much later). The second one made my panel blow and his apprentice scratched up an area of my ceiling when changing a light and a drawer in my kitchen when changing a plug...a plug that sparked and popped when he stuck a screwdriver in it. REALLY??!! And again, they used scare tactics that ended up costing me close to $4000 in electrical work that I still had to have someone back out to fix (someone other than Milestone).

They don't honor their warranty calls properly either, which brings me to the third technician, Grant, who I am only naming because he was all kinds of inappropriate. Not only did he ask me for a hug (NO!), but he spent more than 30 minutes asking personal questions rather than doing the work he was there for. And then he charged me for it... On a warranty call.

Find another electrician.

Overall it was a good experience there were just a couple of things I did not entirely appreciate. One being our service manager with the pricing almost seemed as if he kept getting annoyed as we weren't sure we were going with milestone. At one point he said that I had 30 minutes to call him back or we wouldn't get the deal that was offered. I wish it would be mandatory for the service managers to walk the job/home with you just to make sure everyone is on the same page. I felt as if I was promised the best of the best a total new system. When someone says gutting everything that means everything. There was some confusion the day the installers came out. First they wrote on the paperwork to install line set cover (Sheetmetal hood to cover the line sets). These were not installed but I believe I was charged for. I was told that they were going to have to install new line sets by the service manager. The install crew said that they were not needed and nothing was on the paperwork about new line sets. Secondly I had just decked my entire attic a couple weeks prior given that the previous unit was much smaller I had little room to access my storage space I was not informed that the new unit would be longer. The install crew proceeded to call the service manager (which sounded annoyed) he had responded that no I informed you and nothing was said about doing an entire new system I said ok that is fine I'm just keeping an open line of communication because that's what you do when you're not on the same page. Something that would help with this is walking the job/home prior. I asked since the unit is longer it will block all of my attic space is it possible to just rotate the unit 90 degrees. The service manager seemed extremely annoyed and said let me call someone as I do not have my price book in front of me and I will get back with you. I watched 100% of the install all that was required is adding 3' onto the line sets and extending 3 of the ducts 2' or 3'. The service manager went up on the price $260.00 just for 30 minutes of work. The installers were very known about what they were doing. I only had two issues with them me being a professional roofer the roof flashing (rain diverter) for the outside unit was not installed properly. He actually put nails through the top of the shingles and caulked it causing damages to the roof. As everyone knows caulking does not last especially in an environment where it's exposed to the elements. The second issue is that I requested to keep all of my old equipment well some how the installers took the motor to my inside unit. Me not realizing until a couple of days later. Overall I am happy with the outcome of the new equipment. I have heard so much good things about this company and I just feel as they didn't live up to there expectations. If I could I would give a 2 1/2 star rating.

Our Service Manager was named Austin. I do want to include that he is overall a very informative person and is good at what he does. We (my wife and I) just did not appreciate how we felt as if we were annoying him when we spoke with him on the phone.

Don't bother calling them. They wanted to charge me a $99 service charge to do an estimate for replacing 2 3 ton units for our house. When I explained that I would not need an assessment of the house I just needed a quote on the HVAC the lady insisted that there would be a charge regardless. I explained to her very clearly that everyone in DFW offers free estimates and she continued to want to charge me a service call fee. Seems ridiculous to me that they would pass on a 15-25k job for a $99 service fee. There are a hundred different options in DFW don't waste your time and money getting nickled and dimed by these people.

My sister was having trouble with her A/C and on a recommendation from her neighbor, she called Milestone.  The technician, Chris, came to the conclusion that the refrigerant lines running from the compressor to the evaporator were leaking.  There is no way for a technician to know this for sure, as these lines go under the house and up through the concrete slab, so it was an educated guess at best.

Chris worked up a quote and my sister (who lives alone) was getting confused so that's when she called me to join in the meeting to help understand what was going on.

His quote consisted of 5 or 6 different options, hand written in the most general of terms with pricing for each one.  The pricing ran from about $200 up to $23,000.  I asked Chris to please put these options into an official quote with more details along with model numbers of the major components so that we could think about it before making our decision.

He replied that this WAS an official quote and that it was not possible to provide model numbers until AFTER the system was installed.  I incredulously asked if he was serious, to which he replied Dude, do NOT get an attitude with me!  I said that my name was not Dude and I did not appreciate him speaking to me like that.  I also informed him that when I had my A/C system replaced (by a different company), I was provided with an official quote WITH MODEL NUMBERS prior to me signing the agreement.  He argued that I did not know what I was talking about and there is no way that could happen.  VERY INSULTING!!!

He was basically trying to strong arm a single woman into making a quick decision with very few details offered in his quote.  I am so glad that I was able to get involved before she made a grave mistake by signing with this unscrupulous company.

We have since called out a different A/C company, who is very professional, not rude and not trying to take advantage of us, and whose pricing is MUCH more in line with what I would expect it to be.  We showed the new company the quote from Chris and and laughingly said, so that's how Milestone can afford all of those silly commercials.

Do NOT trust this company!!!

My relationship with Milestone started rocky.  The install team was not ideal, they cut corners on several items and the continuity between what was sold and was installed varied.  I was on the verge of giving a 1 star rating, however Milestone would not accept anything other than getting it right.  It took several visits, a discount in pricing, and other complimentary offerings, but in the end they got us where we needed to be.  Every member (minus the install team) worked hard to deliver quality service you expect with a top tier company like this.  In the end, I'm pleased and confident in my new system.

My A/C stopped working and it was about to get hot, so I called Milestone

Great service and rapid response. Ricardo and team worked late to get me taken care of.  I would highly recommend them.  They kept me well informed.

I had to have the coil replaced and it required a lot of labor to include removing the furnace. They brought all up to code and took great care to protect walls and floor.

Avoid this company for your air conditioning needs. They are only interested in up selling, and not fixing units.
Our a/c went out, and we had them come by to diagnose the problem. Making an appointment was easy and the operator was polite and helpful. They are obviously busy with it being summer, so they weren't able to come out till the end of our scheduled window.
Two men came over and looked at our inside and outside unit and said fixing it would cost the same as replacing it, and a new unit (financed through them) would cost $10,000. They also said they couldn't fully diagnose the problem unless we paid $1,500 to get it fixed for diagnostics, and that we should just get the new unit instead. We paid the $99 drop in fee and said we would think about it.
We decided to get a second opinion from Lucas heating and air, and they let us know we just needed a new motor and fan, and a few wires needed to be fixed up and reconnected. The whole job cost us $500 to fix, and took him only about an hour to fix. Now our a/c is working perfectly.
Milestone could have fixed our unit, but I don't think their interest is in fixing, but selling the units. This company is shady and unethical, trying to sell products that customers don't need.
Unless you have no other options, I highly suggest you look far far away from this company.

Got a quote from them, paid the $80.00 estimate fee, to install 2 outside lights on my small 1200 sq ft  home.  There is no way this should cost $1000.00! Found a certified electrician to do the same work for $300.00.

I had milestone electric out three times for the same problem....First time said it was a  clogged sink..They charged $199.00 plus something like draino which was another $89.00.  The 2nd time they said clogged sink and some more draino.  The 3rd time they found a $8900 problem.  A broken pipe under the slab causing the problem.  They made a big deal about the previous repair men not identifying the problem the first two times and graciously offered to refund the money I have paid previously when we made the repairs.  They supposively ran a camera down the pipe to discover the leak.  Because of the price we got three other estimates from other plumbers.  Everyone of them was more than $5000 cheaper.  So we hired another company.

Today the other company came out a dug a 5 foot trench to where the leak was suppose to be.  He  found the pipe but no leak.  He dug 7 feet and no leak.  He went 10 feet....nothing.  In the end there was no leak, no damaged pipe and we were out $3500.

We called Milestone and the response was your plumber should have run his on test.  Put the blame on our plummer rather than the SCAM they were running.  I have emailed Milestone and also have an online chat.  Have asked to have the owner call me.  So far nothing.

The saddest part is i have used Milestone many times before.  Looking back when they came out to do a repair they always found something else that needed to be done. Sometimes in the $1000's of dollars.   Since they were always so polite I felt they were honest.  I fell for it every time.  Now I wonder what I have paid for that was not needed.

Buyer beware.  They excel in customer service but charge for things that are not needed.

Robert is friendly, professional, prompt, knowledgeable, pleasant to be around, articulate, and the list goes on. He even went above & beyond by helping me & my Mom figure out how to sort through, and set up the entertainment center. All cables/cords/devices were pure confusion for two helpless women, so we were thankful Robert was here to lend a helping hand. At the end of the service call, Robert sat down and took the time to explain matters related to the HVAC system - all in a language we could understand, and at a steady pace to make sure we were following along with his explanations. He gives you facts and valuable input you need to make important decisions. Robert is a testament to how every service professional should treat his/her client. Milestone Electric's staff delivers 5-STAR quality service!

TIP: Based on my experience with Milestone (Electric, Air, Security & Plumbing), I would want them to look at any property before considering purchasing or selling a home.

We purchased 2 HVAC two years ago and get the maintenance every year to keep the warranty. This year after renewal I kep getting texts saying I needed to renew before it was too late. I would text and explain I paid already and they would agree. This went on for several weeks until I finally had to speak to someone higher up. Three weeks ago I scheduled my maintenance service and they were suppose to come between 2-5. Called at 4:30 to make sure I was still on and they said yes and they would call before they came. At 6:30 I called to see where they were and was told they called me at 4:30 and left vmail to reschedule. Clearly they did not. I asked for a manager and still waiting. Wished I hadn't purchased from them. Poor customer service.

Well I just found out that a service contract I cancelled over 5 years ago with Milestone all the sudden was renewed. This company is very dishonest regarding their business practices. When I call them they said that was not supposed to be billed. I think what they really meant is that I was not supposed to notice they the ripped me of for 199.00 dollars. Maybe I am am just unlucky but every time I have had them do anything is cost 25 to 30% more than anyone else. Every time they came out they would try to sell me something instead of fixing it. If you ever have had a service contract with them in the last 10 years and cancelled you may want to start checking you credit card bills and see if by some chance they accidently renewed it for for and charged you 199.00. I am pretty sure all their technician's work on commission. But just maybe I am the only customer that ever had problems with them. RIGHT!!!!!!!!

We just had Milestone Plumbing come to our home to replace a bathroom faucet. We even had the faucet we wanted installed. We felt like we were dealing with a used car salesman. Constant up selling. The lowest price was 591.00 and that was with some kind of service plan. NO WAY!  We pCalled another plumbing company we have used before (and should have called first). They will be out to replace the faucet for less than half what Milestone quoted. Never, ever, ever, ever again will we call them. Left us a with a very dirty feeling like they were trying to take advantage of us.

Responding to the the request to call Milestone.  There are all kinds of things I would like to call you. However I will refrain.  Not less than 5 minutes ago a local plumber from a small family run business just left. It took him all of 20 minutes to remove the old faucet and install the new one we have. Total charge with tax - $171.81. I stand by what I says in my review. No way will we ever ever ever call Milestone for anything. The one positive - you solidified our faith in this other business. We have used them in the past. We should have called them first. They are now and will be in the future our go-to plumbers.

They tried to sell me plans and do everything except what I asked for. I asked for estimate they tried to sell me safety inspection and milestone plan. Selling selling I had to demand they complete the estimate I paid for to repair my electric I won't use them again. I didn't feel they knew what they were doing either. I did not let them do the work. They told me $79 for estimate tried to charge $548 for an estimate not completing work just the estimate. I do not recommend this company.

I just had Milestone come out for a heater repair, I thought.    I have the MAM  PLAN.   I had a water spot on my ceiling right under the heater that they installed installed 3 years ago.   They came out the next day to check it  out.   It turns out that it was a roof leak, I was hoping it wasn't  and wanted  Milestone to come out first in hoping that it was a quick fix.

The repair tech , Henry, said that found the leak and  would go up on the roof to see if he could  repair the leak quickly because there is a rainstorm on the way tonight and tomorrow  morning.   He also found a faulty capacitor and replaced it under warranty.

Henry did a patch job on the leak until I can get the roofer here to fix it better.

This is GREAT SERVICE!  Warranty repair for the capacitor and Henry  fixed the roof  until I can get it fixed with the roofer.

Outstanding!

AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!

0 Stars!   Avoid these con artist!  Called them out because our AC was going in and out.   First thing they start telling us that the unit was falling apart, wasn't installed properly, and they -could- patch it but couldn't guarantee the work.   Their 'patch' quote was $5,305.   To just get it sorta working was $1749 + tax.     But they were REALLY pushing the new unit.

Needless to say, we said no and wanted a 2nd opinion which they were really against and that in his 35 years of experience that this was what we needed.   A new unit and financed through them, of course, so they could guarantee the work done.

Called a company that Mom recommend.    No issues fixing it.  Bad fan.   Didn't even need Freon recharge where as Milestone tech said it needed at least 5lbs @ $112 per lbs.   $467 was the total price of the repair with tax, labor, and parts.  Milestone's fan replacement itself was $671 quoted.   Almost a 1/4 more than the total repair we had done!   AND he even guaranteed his work.

Avoid this company!   Warn your friends!  They are just after your money and selling you a new unit.   They want to replace rather than fix.

AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!  AVOID!!

My 2nd experience this year (I have a maintenance   package with them.

The 1st time they came out they recommended the replacement of a capacitor which they quoted for close to $400.  After researching and watching a 10 minute you tube video I repaired myself in 10 minutes after spending $16 on the part.

This time when scheduling the appointment, they gave me a 5 hour window of between 2pm and 7pm.  I got a call at 5:15pm telling me they were on their way and would be there at 5:45pm.  At 7:05pm they were still not here.  Finally showed up around 7:30pm.  Spent 1/2 hour at my house checking furnace and A/C unit.

Got quotes for duct work cleaning for $1400......no thank you

Milestone called me re: yelp review. They claim Cameron has 10,000 hours of training. If that is true, they've been training that kid since he was 16.  If that is true (far be it from me to question such a Christian enterprise ) they are not getting great results from 5 years of dedicated training. Odd. The whole point of the call seemed to be to  question my perception of the service call experience and to get me to remove or modify my review.  Listen, Milestone, my review was a honest effort to share my experience with others. If you want to refund the service call fee, I think that would be appropriate. But I won't lie for you. Have a great day!

This company is WAY overpriced. I use them for my security and when my air conditioner needed replacing, I went with them even though their semi-annual maintenance failed to identify the problem that caused the need for the replacement in the first place.  The AC unit was nearly $1500 over the other quotes but I thought oh, but they have a great warranty on it. Now, I have a simple plumbing issue and I called them. After all, I am a MAM member and get a discount.  They refused to give me a price over the phone although their prices are non-negotiable and laminated in a spiral binder and the price for a simple garbage disposal replacement was $450 plus the $69 service fee.  They did offer $15% off for being a service MAM member but that still made it a whopping $464!!!!!
No thank you, I called another plumber who came out that day and installed for $300.  Shame on you Milestone!!!

Don't waste your money on this company. They are always pushing the up charge and never solely focus on the issue for which you called them. The last straw was a quote they gave me to replace 2 water heaters - $10,040 or a discounted $8,292 if I joined the membership plan. I got my tanks (50 gallon AO Smiths) replaced by an independent plumber for $2,800.

I can't see how anyone would use this company. Before they will tell you ANYTHING about their prices they REQUIRE you to schedule AND pay for a service call of $79.00 - which is above what they will charge for their work. Depsite advertising for small repairs on TV (replace an electric out for example - which is why i called) they refuse to give any estimates for this cost. I even got a supervisor who stated we only can quote by the job and that requires the installer to go to your home with the $79.00 service call. I stated so I have to pay you $79 for an estimate and if i refuse i still pay the $79 and ws told yes. Yikes how do they stay in business.

I had to have these 30 exterior lanterns.  Milestone installed quickly and I think for a decent enough price.  We had them installed before Halloween and they must've did a good job/the lights must've looked great because all my neighbors were like, Good job, girl! when they stopped by with their children for candy.

I've had them do other stuff do - exterior lights, grounding rod, etc.  The guys are always extremely friendly.  I love them so much for putting those covers on their shoes when walking on spotless carpet.  I go back and forth between using contractors and handymen, and then Milestone when it comes to upgrades.  I've been pretty happy with them; give them a try :)

Last weekend, I needed Milestone to come out and repair my air conditioner. When Stephen got there, I explained how badly I needed to get this fixed because I was having a memorial the following weekend for my wife who had recently passed. On top of getting it repaired quickly, he showed such genuine concern and compassion about my wife's passing. That in itself made me a customer for life. Then Monday, I came home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers, with the sweetest message of sympathy...and it was signed your Milestone Family.

Milestone and Stephen made a difficult time in my life better. And the girl that I spoke to on the phone (I apologize, I cannot remember your name) was also beyond compassionate and helpful.

I've used Milestone for years for electrical and alarms, and I will continue using them for many more. Thank you for your touch of humanity. Your company and your employees are class acts.

The tech showed up on time and was polite when diagnosing the problem.  I already knew exactly the part that needed to be replaced and had priced it at Lowes/Home Depot, but wanted the comfort of a trained technician installing it.  I was fine paying a professional for this.  The part was $150 at every local hardware store, and of course Milestone would get that at wholesale and resell it to me with a markup, that's fine.  So I figured $150 for the part + $150 an hour for a repairman (that's reasonable based on my research) + $100 for a service call.  So I was thinking maybe $400-450.  That was fair and generous.

Milestone supplied the item, installed it in 30 minutes and the total bill was nearly $700 !!!!  Again for a part that costs $150 at retail and took half an hour to install.  He agreed to discount it a bit to around $600 after I told him I was surprised with the price.  That took a call to a Manager and the Tech making me feel like I was really getting a deal.  It was still overpriced from my math, but what else could I do at that moment.  I had taken off work and it needed to be done.

Then comes the upsell part - Sir did you know we offer a maintenance program?  I wasn't ready to make a rush decision on that without looking over the coverage.  Also, while I'm here I would like to go around and look at other areas of your home for possible issues.  He showed me what he wanted to check and I politely said no you don't need to do that.  He literally laughed in my face and said you don't want any of that?  As if I was so stupid for declining, it was rude.  I knew that was just a way for him to find something else to tell me that needed repairs and charge me a ridiculous rate.  Ultimately I let him check these areas because he made the situation so awkward.  He pointed out some things to improve, but told him I didn't have the time for the work that day, which I did not.

When he was leaving, he left me some paperwork on the maintenance program and was showing me pictures of the owners.  He said the owners have grown this company so fast in a short period of time and were now in the process of just buying up every little company out there.  From plumbing companies to electrical companies and that was their strategy, gobble up the little companies.  I guess until they are the only ones left in town?

Overall, I was happy with the quality of work performed, the on-time appointment and the professionalism of the scheduling.  However, I don't think I would ever use Milestone again because they aren't even remotely competitive on their price.  I have no problem pay a premium for higher quality, reliable work being performed, but Milestone wasn't even reasonable in their pricing.  I can only imagine what a bigger job would cost.  Also all the up selling and the reviews here prove I'm not alone in my assessment.

I would look elsewhere.

I saw the mixed/bad reviews on Yelp and I was initially scared off Milestone.  My Yelp compadres usually get it right.  In this case, I really can't do anything but 5 stars as I had 2 back-to-back amazing experiences.  I had a balky A/C unit that was tripping a breaker every 48 hours and shutting itself off.  On my initial call, I asked for an electrician, but was helped by the friendly office staff that maybe we should let an HVAC tech look at it first to make sure the unit was functioning properly.  In the appointed window, I was given a 30 minute heads up for when my techs would arrive and was even texted pictures of both techs, which is great for security.  When they showed up they took a quick look and determined my condo actually has commercial grade units, so they called their expert, Eric, on these types of units.  Eric came a couple hours later, and he was THE MAN.  He knew my brand of unit intimately, and spent an hour or so checking it out and diagnosing my problem.  At the end, he determined everything in the unit that could be affecting the offending breaker shut off, was functioning properly.  He did some routine, needed maintenance for me, and then called their electrician and set up an appt for today.

Same routine, a call 30 minutes before, and picture via text of Eric, who showed up promptly.  Same result.  He diagnosed the electrical circuit to the HVAC and determined it was likely a faulty breaker, which was replaced promptly.

Can't say enough about the service I got from Milestone.  Customer Service is clearly a priority with these folks, and I'm happy to find a single company I can source electric, HVAC, and plumbing.  Happy homeowner

We had been using this company for several years and will no longer do so.  To anyone thinking about using this company in any way, PLEASE GET A SECOND ESTIMATE.  First, they are constantly trying to sell you something that you don't need. And second, they have tried to get us to do things that were not needed twice and cheated us once.  And those are the only things I know about.  Their a/c heating technicians told us we needed replace a 12 year old furnace.  This was to cost between $12,000 and 20,000.  When I told the technician I was going to get a second estimate, he offered me 5% off if I would sign immediately.  I told him, No.  When the second person came to give us an estimate, he informed us that the furnace was 8 years old, under warranty and in no way needed to be replaced.
The second incident occurred when one of their plumbers charged me $300.00 dollars to replace the inside of a toilet.  When I looked inside the tank, only one piece had been replaced and that piece costs $30.00 on Amazon.  When I called Milestone and sent a picture of the inside of the tank they immediately offered to reduce my bill.
The third incident involved an electrician who told us that he was unwilling to install 4 new electrical sockets until we replaced our entire fuse board. At that time our fuse board was less than 4 years old.
Please take care if you use Milestone!!!!!!!!

Asked someone to come out and look at my nest thermostat. He couldn't really figure out what caused the nest to go out, if it was the unit itself or our larger air-conditioning unit. Then he spent a lot of time telling me how old my system is and how it's using refrigerant that has been phased out and then just tried to sell me on a new air-conditioning unit. my system may be old but it's working just fine and I don't wanna spend $10,000 on a new unit right now. His Band-Aid fix was still going to be over $2000 to upgrade some wiring etc. and he didn't know if it was the root cause of the nest going out. Wasn't the experience I was expecting after having dealt with other air-conditioning companies. I have another technician coming on Monday who I know well to get a second opinion and I fully expect him to give me a quote for a lot less money I'll update the review after we get the second opinion. I chose milestone because they advertise all over the place and supposedly have a good reputation but it Just seemed more like highway robbery.

I decided to finally get rid of my hot tub and in so, do something with the 220 line running from my attic to the backyard. I decided to call Milestone to see what it would take to get it converted to an outdoor outlet with two 110 sockets.

When I called, just as the commercial says, they were very up front with pricing and scheduling and the technician notified me about 30 minutes prior as to when they would arrive. I was also able to take advantage of their Thanksgiving deal, so it was a cheaper service fee to boot.

I was very impressed with the job the technicians did. They installed the outdoor outlet as well as replaced the eyesore of a PVC tube that housed the original wiring with a more professional (I probably went too cheap with a electrician the first time around), nicer-looking metal housing running down from the attic. Reading previous reviews, it seems there was some sticker shock from the service call as well as some overall issues with the quality of the job, but I didn't have any of those problems. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable and did a great job. I will admit their pricing seems a bit on the higher end of the spectrum, but they did some quality work, too. Based off my experience, I would use them again.

Totally disappointed. Joined Milestone plan, had $4k of electrical installment of single hot tub outlet and full home gfi. First use tripped individual breaker box. Called for appointment before 10am, per their guarantee should be same day, but offered an appointment 6days from now. When questioning representative, well warranty scheduling is different.

Beware, once you are their customer, you no longer are their priority and their 5-star guarantee no longer applies.

DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!Complete and total scam artists. They pay their technicians a hybrid of hourly and commission. So, their staffs entire goal is to charge you as much as possible for services that you do not even need to pad their pockets.

I had one of my tenants call me about some dust coming out of one of the AC vents. I always let them use whom they wish and I pay the invoice. Since, I'm out of state. So, she called Milestone to come out and check the problem. Mind you she is a elderly women whose husband just passed with cancer a month ago.

When the technician Earnest arrived he supposedly checked the system. He quoted her $5,850.00 to clean the ducting. At that pint, He believed she was the homeowner. After, getting the the quote. She advised him that she could not authorize the amount and would have to contact the landlord. She immediately called me. The entire HVAC system could have been replaced for this price. So, I called three different highly rated HVAC companies to inspect the system. All three had the same conclusion. A zip tie came off of one of the ducting hoses and some of the cellulose insulation was being pulled into the hose.

All 3 companies offered to fix the one problem hose for the $65.00 service call fee. All 3 quoted $375.00 to pull all of the hoses off the two boxes, re-glue and zip tie them. Since, the house is 10 years old. I had the work done and for good measure I had an Duct cleaning company come and clean all the ducts and returns in the system for $179.00. As a note the house is 4950 square feet.

I called Milestone and spoke with their GM about the quote. He stated that this isn't their policy or service ethics. Even though he was candid about the hybrid pay scale for their techs. He had zero explanation how this happened and that the techs are seldom in the office.

Why is there no management oversight. Obviously, they have no control of their money hungry staff who prey on the elderly.

Wow. I can not believe they would try to do this to an elderly widow. They have no morals and have zero integrity.

Company is a ripoff. Very expensive and not very goood. Then they screwed up our wiring. When we called to tell them, they called it a warranty issue and said it would take a week to get someone out. Now we don't have a kitchen light and have to cook in the dark. Thanks for nothing.

Scam. Can I give a zero? I had to reset my master breaker and could not get it reset. Called them and was told for them to come out ASAP it would be $200 just to send a tech. Then extra for any repaira. They also wanted my CC information before they would send a tech.

Incomplied, what choice didnt have, wait 3 days without power, AC and haveball.my food spoil? I went back out to the breaker and tried for about an hour to get the breaker to set and finally, using a wrench and screwdriver, got it to engage.

I called to cancel the $200 + call to be told that if the tech had already left, there would be a $100 charge to my CC for canceling. WTF?

The tech had not left and I was not charged but I will not use this damn company again for anything. $100 to cancel an appointment. If they had charged my card I'd have disputed the charge.

Zero stars. Don't use this BS service.

I just had a technician at my home to investigate some questionable electrical issues. He informed me that there was no issue - since our home was built in 1977 sometimes the wires would cross over several circuits making it appear like there was an issue when there wasn't.
He then told me it would cost $475 to fix the issue. But... You just told me there wasn't an issue. He claimed the $475 fee was to trouble shoot. That is absolutely ridiculous. He even stated that it may only take him 30 -90 minutes to resolve the issue. WHAT? That means his hourly rate would have been $315.

I kindly asked him to leave. I've already been quoted a new price of $150 from a local company.

No wonder this company can afford to run so many commercials... They rob their customers.

99 dollars for some guy to take an hour to quote me new ac prices that are higher than all competitors.

I made the misfortune to text to speak to someone instead of calling. I get a reply thats two paragraphs long filled with self hyping spiel. I clicked on the last paragraph and used the view all (because thats how much nonsense they respond with) completely missing at the very bottom of the first long text filled with usele info of how great their company is that their quotes are not free like everyone elses are. So i just got screwed and paid 99 for nothing.

Service guy who was a manager didnt care. But that is fine. Wont use them and will tell everyone in neighborhood not to either.

Naturally the 1st cold day we find our furnace isn't working. Have used and loved Milestone for years and are a member of the MAMS program. Called them around 4 to say Oh No! Chance arrived by around 6:30. What a great, knowledgeable and professional tech! Diagnosed the problem , dead motherboard and infuser. He educated us about what that means. Is ordering the parts and believes we'll be back in business in a day or two. We were so impressed with him we have asked that he return to complete the work.
Our experiences with Milestone and their techs has been awesome for more than 6 years. Highly recommend them - and Chance!

William was great! First I loved that Milestone sends an email with the technicians picture and name so I know who was showing up to my house. I was pleased that he asked a lot of questions to get a better picture of our equipment. He was up front with pricing and also didn't try to sell us extra stuff now but rather let us know by fall we would need a certain part to be up to code on our heater. I like having the peace of mind of the Family Plan.

Another great experience (1/2017).  Brett was on time and even gave me a couple minutes to get to the house! I love that he took time to write everything out for me. He listened to my concerns. He was also honest in what was priority and what was not.

Milestone should be investigated for fraud-their tactics are criminal! My 88 yr old mother called them to change her AC filter (don't know why she didn't ask me or my brother) and the service guy insisted that she needed a new heating & AC system.  She's only been in the house for 2 years and she has had no problems with heating or cooling the house.  Yet this guy insisted that her system was about to go out, she would save on her electric bill with a new system, blah, blah,blah-he basically bullied her into spending $10,000!
I'm so angry that Milestone took advantage of my mother!! She has medical bills & expensive prescriptions not to mention her monthly expenses.
BTW-last summer my AC wasn't cooling and my regular AC guy couldn't get out until the next day so I called Milestone. The service tech examined my system and said I needed a new AC & heating system to the tune of $19,000! I still have the estimate. My regular AC guy came out the next day and put in $150 of Freon-problem solved! He checked everything out & said my system was working fine & I didn't need a new system. Milestone is such a ripoff!! I get mad every time I see their lame commercials.  Their tactics are absolutely criminal!

My old family owned HVAC company closed when the owner retired and sold his customer list and it ended up with Milestone.  I had heard of them from their many many many TV ads.  So I had been noticeing that my AC was running a lot and not really cooling to the set temp.  I called on Monday and got a Wednesday service call I guess not too bad being summer in Texas.  The technician got there on time and started working and after some small talk I learned that he had been doing this work three years.  After taking readings at the outside and inside units he said that I was low on R22 refrigerate and asked if I knew what the price was and I told him I knew it was expensive.  Now my Trane HVAC unit is over 20 years old but has had few issues with it so I expected a hard sell on a replacement.  Got some of it but I said I wanted a repair if possible.  The R22 was $229 per pound this plus a call out of $99 and a TFS charge of $19.75 and I had what I thought was a working system again.....and I did for maybe two hours.  Called Milestone to let them know and was told a warrenty call could be made for five days out with the chance of having to pay more and those five days will have highs over 100.  I called Bill Joplin and got a appointment for the next day.  Not only did they send a tech that also had three years experience but his manager.  They correctly found the two real issues (bad capacitor and TXV) in about 15 minutes and fixed them and I have a working system.  We talked about R22 and was told that none was lost and that it did not look like I would need more.  Joplins price was $130 per pound.  Well I guess someone needs to pay for all that at time make sure it is not you!

I had always used Electric City had a complete new unit installed inside and outside about two years ago.  They sold out to Milestone.  I contacted Milestone for my annual tuneup.  I had just purchased a Ionizer Air purifier for the ac unit and had installed with life time warranty. due to life time warranty this was quite expensive.  I find out that Milestone will not cover the warranty and does not even offer the same Ionizer.  They were going to speak with the owner and get back with me on anything they may do to assist me with this.  I never received a call back.  I have used them in the past to find they are extreme expensive that is why I moved to Electric City,  Now full Circle and Looking for a new AIR Heating company...  Be cautious.

We have used Milestone over the years and consider ourselves long time customers but what a shock to have someone come out and tell us the work for 4 can lights and replacing some switches would be over $3,000 dollars, we had purchased everything so it was only the install.  We ended up paying the $70 they charge for the visit and the next day had someone from DFW design do all the work for just over $700.  I guess they can afford all the advertising they do by charging lots of people $70 to come out and shock you with how expensive actual work from them would be.

Very professional, friendly & knowledgeable. Very happy with the work & service, but prices were extremely high! Family and I have hired other electric companies in the recent past that provided equally good service and were equally skilled...so I do have some fair & legit basis for comparison.

Had them out on Saturday early afternoon. They consider ANY time of the weekend to be after hours, which means a $200 trip charge. Then a $185 flat fee to troubleshoot on top of that! Now I could see if it was middle of the night, or on a Sunday. But Saturday at noon shouldn't mean $200 just for him to drive to my house!! That doesn't include him even LOOKING at anything!!

All in all, I ended up paying $385 just for him to test a few things and tighten some wires (luckily, very minor repairs are included in the troubleshooting fee), which took all of maybe 45 minutes on a Sat afternoon. I feel like part of the reason for the exorbitant pricing is so they can convince you to sign up for their yearly membership package (you pay $160/yr and in exchange get discounted rates). There was zero sales pressure; it's just that once he even mentioned the membership, I thought Oh...makes sense now...all must be part of their business plan...

None of this is the tech's fault though. Prices were clearly explained to me up front, both over the phone during scheduling, and again by the tech in person. And I agreed to it all, since I was in a huge hurry to get my power back on and didn't have time to make multiple calls or try to remember who else I used that I liked or was open. I called Milestone because their sticker was right there on my fuse panel. But I will definitely shop around when possible for future needs.

Could not have asked for better more professional service! The electrical outlets in half our house went out causing (as you can imagine) tons of issues for our household including our refrigerator going out. Our landlord called Milestone after having negative experiences with other companies... In walk Jimmy H. And Alistair from Milestone. The two could not have been more professional! (Even putting on booties to cover their shoes before they entered the house!) They were EXTREMELY knowledgeable and accommodating, even working around my roommate and I as we needed. All our electrical issues were addressed and our house is not only back to normal, but running even BETTER than before! I HIGHLY recommend this company and their services!... If Jimmy H. And Alistair are available, request them! Thanks guys!

Scheduling an electrician to come out was very easy....Trying to cancel that appointment was incredible hard. You can schedule a job online, but you cannot cancel it online? Seems very wrong to me. They gave me a number to call 972-863-0439 to cancel the appointment. Called the  number and its a non-working number. Called another number from their website, no one was there and no answering machine....So yeah, Milestone your off my list.

Do not hire Milestone! We were overcharged an insane amount and have such buyer's remorse. Another company came out to fix the damage to our upstairs AC and said they botched the 'repair' which was unnecessary in the first place. $3600 and we feel like idiots. Avoid this company at all costs!!!

I forgot to mention they also LIED about the other downstairs unit needing repair. They said the coolant level was low and it would blow up by the end of the summer if we didn't have another repair. Thank God there are other honest repair places with a bit more integrity and we found out our unit was just fine (which makes sense, because it was and is working fine). These guys are total crooks!

My wife called milestone electric to come to the house. They quoted her $79 service fee. Without even looking at the problem they told her it was diagnosed as a moderate case then they wanted to charge her $550.  Fortunately I walked in at this time and started questioning what was going on. They told me the $79 fee didn't cover any time on the job or any diagnostics.  This red flag should have lead me to end the conversation. They had a very slick sales pitch book and the service manager was called and put on speakerphone. Clearly the service manager is a train salesman trying to convince us to pay $550 on what ended up being a bad receptacle that took all of 10 minutes to fix. Against my better judgement I eventually agreed to $277, which is obviously egregious for what the issue was. In hindsight I should have asked him leave immediately and called a legitimate electrician who wasn't going to try to sell me on a monthly service plan.  Stay away.

I am a long-time customer of Milestone Electric. I've never had a situation they couldn't fix. Sometimes they are busy and I have to wait longer than I want to for a service call but I think they're worth the wait in non-emergency situations.

They inspect the electrical panels as a courtesy on every trip out.

I called them on Mon Oct 12 and got an appointment for next day, first call. Our tech this time was Kyle. He arrived on time to address my latest list of requests. Two items (pool light) and overhead light (back door) were resolved at no charge. :) These were pretty much user error issues on my part.

We wanted a security light and motion sensor on house to spotlight driveway and Kyle asked us a lot of questions about what we wanted. He showed us what area would be detected by the sensor and spotlit by the lights. He explained the warranty and cost up front and he had the equipment on his truck. We are thrilled with this installation. It is fun to trip the sensor when I arrive home at night. The LED lighting is fantastic.

We also wanted him to address the lighting sensor on our garage. The lights should be off in daylight and on when the sky is dark. Our sensor on the shaded side of our garage. Over time as trees grew and shade ensued the sensor's effectiveness died. Kyle explained that he could install a new sensor with a knuckle joint that aimed the sensor to the north and that our lights would go on and off as we wanted. He gave us the estimate and had the equipment on his truck. Moving the sensor to another side of my garage was cost-prohibitive and unnecessary. We are thrilled with this installation as well.

Called for a simple install of a 220V outlet to be placed next to my totally accessible breaker box.
Never received confirmation email as promised
Arrove on time, but with two people. Why?
Immediately tried to upsell with safety inspection of whole house. I demurred.
Quoted outrageously high price for a simple job, and when I demurred, asked How much did you plan on spending? (Alarms began sounding in my head)
Pushed again for safety inspection
After asking age of house (less than 30 years) told me entire breaker panel and breakers needed total replacement, as This is over 15 years old (This is bogus, pure and simple)
Offered to call his boss to see if they could do the job cheaper
(Sounds like a used car lot)
Pushed for whole house safety inspection again
Tried to disallow $65 off visit charge advertised and agreed to on the phone.
Sent them packing, did the job myself, city inspected and approved the work.
To their credit, when I complained, they said they would refund the money I paid for their visit.
Definitely not recommended, especially if you are older. They saw a one eyed old man with a new car and thought they had a live one. I possess degrees in Electrical Engineering, and have designed and built technical facilities since before they were out of short pants, btw.

Theives!! My fiancee and I were in the process of selling a home when we learned (after the home inspection) that there were some electrical issues with the house... some of the outlets were not grounded and other significant things like that. We called Milestone so they came out to the house and quoted $8000!! We were shocked and called two other companies for estimates - Mr. Electric quoted $2900 and Electrician On Call quoted $2700 for the SAME job. Ultimately, we went with Electrician on Call and were VERY pleased. PLUS we saved $5000 -- that's HUGE!

ALSO - We had to pay Milestone $69 just to come out and take a look at the house. The other two companies we got quotes from did not charge us for an estimate.

I DO NOT recommend Milestone. Do your homework and get several estimates. They upcharge like crazy and will rip you off if you let them. There are better companies out there!!

After seeing their truck repeatedly in our neighborhood for weeks and seeing/hearing their tv & radio ads, I tried to call them to start a quote for my home and my father's. Too bad they won't get my business though....the phone rang 6 times before it was answered and immediately connected to a very long, very annoying commercial. After listening to the loop, finally someone answered. She was polite enough, but when I started to ask for information, I was cut off and told that she was the receptionist and would connect me to a customer care agent. Nope.  Connected right back into another round of the very long, very annoying commercial. Just when I thought another human would pick up, it would roll back to the receptionist or at least a voice mail.....nope. Disconnected.

A very nice man named Kyle arrived, the one star is simply because he arrived same day and was courteous. Then he wanted me to sign saying I agreed to pay over $500 for a minor repair. He said if it doesn't take him that long he would knock the price down -- but for him to work on it I had to sign this $500 paper first. What? This is ridiculous! I told him that he was very nice but that his companies protocol lost my business. If I'm not going to have to pay $500 in the end, why make me sign saying I'm willing to? Unless, they are just going to keep finding problems. I found the whole procedure reeked of scam and asked them to leave.

I have had a three star review in draft for months, withholding final judgment until I got a response to my inquiry on why my previously old but working ok HVAC system went on the blink two days after they completed a check up (and was seriously using ten times as much energy as it previously was). This was part of a free annual service plan they extended to me after they acquired a local HVAC company I previously used. If you think there's no such thing as free, you're right. They used the summer visit as a revenue generating sales and repair visit. They quoted me $17k to replace half of my HVAC system (that was a solicited quote) and told me if I got a quote on comparable equipment they'd beat it by $50. I thanked them for their quote and shopped it to another local outfit I know and trust. Comparable equipment but replacing three quarters of the system instead of just one half and it was done for $7k LESS. I didn't bother going back to them to try and save an extra $50. Why would I? Flash forward: The keep calling and texting to get me to schedule my free winter check up. I admittedly ignored their repeat efforts (so shame on me for that), but just a few hours ago I called them to make sure they had me off their list and let them know I wasn't interested. Not two hours later I get another sales call from them. No. Thank you. Go away. Stay away.

We have used this company 2 times one for an electrical issue and one other time to to replace our tank less water heater. We it is my fault for calling them the second time and getting hosed again by this deceitful and very unprofessional company. We had the tan less water heater installed 3/12/2020 and they used the old electric cord from old water heater instead of replacing it and we were told by other electric company that the power cord was over 20 years old and cracked. He said this could have caused a fire and the whole house could have burned down. They said the y would be out the next day and never showed up. We called them and they said it was back ordered. So 2 and half months latter we call them again and they say they just forgot about it. Maybe If our house had burned down they may have remembered they never came back and replaced that power cable. Then for the 3rd time we called about this they said had to order part and will be here today. Now they call us back and said maybe late this afternoon because part is still on the truck and it takes 8 hours I guess to get it off the truck. This is only half the story Milestone charged us over 9K to install this and that is 2K to 3K more than anyone else in town. They are normally 20 to 30 % higher than anyone else in the Dallas Fort Worth area. So if you need help with and issue with plumbing or electrical and like pay more money for bad service then please call Milestone they will put the screws to you for sure. Taking 3 months to finish a tank less water heater install is not fast or cheap from Milestone. Just thank God our house did not burn down in our sleep and kill my wife and I.

Absurd!  I need specifically a ceiling fan that is 23feet in the air and an entry light that is 20 feet high.  When I called this company I asked for a rough estimate of what it would cost to replace these 2 items!

The customer service rep said they charge a $69 service fee to come out and assess the situation see what needs to be fixed, replaced, parts needed, etc.  and with the height they need a special ladder which could only be scheduled in the morning.

I told him I was NOT paying $69 for an estimate to just replace the 2 items that currently exist. I ended the call.

There is no reason they can't give a rough estimate to replace fixtures with identical ones.   Especially in a newer house!

And he had no problem telling me it's COD

I think these people are just after money!!!!

UPDATE TO EARLIER REVIEW - PROJECT #1 On May 17th Mile Stone quoted me nearly $2000 to do three tasks that they advertise would fix it in a flash.

For project #1, I had some remodeling done at our house, and an exterior light was removed and needed to be moved a total of 2' and reattached. This was all done in Rough framing - so no finishing work needed, nor would they need to snake through walls or behind drywall. The quote was more than $300 for this particular task. Attached is my home depot receipt, and I did the work myself - fairly simple, and straight forward in running wire through conduit, splicing the original wire in a junction box, and adding a junction box for the light fixture. A total of 3' of wire and conduit.

This project costs me EXACTLY $24.46 in parts, and took a total of 1 hour 22 minutes to set-up, do the work, and clean up. I had to do this work at 9:00PM at night because it was the only free time I had - which is why I originally sourced this out. My loss of time, was a savings of more than $275. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

I will post jobs #2 and #3 when I do them, they were less urgent in terms of timing.

I started asking questions about the membership plan and they quickly told me I had to pay for a single visit before paying for the membership plan. So I would advise if you are interested in the membership plan, make sure to not ask any questions about it or they will revoke that option. You will either have to fly blind with the membership plan or just pay for single visits. To summarize, this company needs to work on their customer service before getting any business from me

Milestone Electric, they'll rip you off in a flash! Two unfriendly gentleman installed a light in our family room last Friday and over charged us big time. $600 bucks for hanging a light. Then today, Monday, three days later the light fell! It fell. My husband noticed the light didn't hang right so when he check it out, it fell. The electricians had it attached to the ceilings with tiny plastic pieces. So $600 bucks to hang a light to have it fall. I'm happy my children or dog wasn't sitting under the light. My husband was fortunately there to grab some of it so it wouldn't shatter the glass table underneath it.

Avoid this company like the plague. I engaged them 3.5 years ago when I purchased my home to service my HVAC and install and monitor my alarm system. If I could leave 0 stars I would. See below for each specific incident:

1. Monitored alarm service. You are required to sign a 3 year contract from the get go and this contract renews annually afterwards. The service is outsourced to a completely separate company. You receive no notice at or near the end of the initial 3 year term. They expect you, like most people that do not keep 3 year running calendars, to remember to either cancel or renegotiate the contract. You are signed up and stuck with another year long, overpriced contract. You must also jump through hoops getting in touch with either Milestone or Alarm Funding associates in order to cancel this deceptive, ridiculous business practice. Their response was, this is what everyone does.

2. My AC/Furnace. Twice a year Milestone comes out to perform a service check upon the system. Every single time they have done this, they announced that my system is on its last legs and that I should engage them to replace it. What a deal, huh? 3.5 years later and it still blows hot and cold air without an issue. Right, these guys are not deceptive at all...

I was able to finally cancel the alarm service and will never do business with Milestone again. I hope my story helps others avoid this deceptive, scamming company.

David Kinney is the best electrician I've ever worked with. That's strange because he's also younger than anyone that has come to my home to help me out in the past. Guess he's got a pretty bright future ahead of him. You might want to ask for him because he's a rare good experience in the field of home service vendors. He does a great job explaining things and telling you what you need, why you need it, and also being honest about what you DON'T necessarily need right away. I ended up choosing Milestone to be my go-to company for services and, as the President of my HOA, I've listed them as our preferred vendor for our homeowners, based on David's service alone. He's a great guy and Milestone offers almost everything you could need fixed at your house. It's a one-stop shop.

I used Milestone Electric to inspect 2 rooftop hvac condensers on a condo that I was purchasing.  My tech Derek was very professional, not to mention brave. He climbed up on top of a 3 story roof without hesitation.  I expected the service to take 2 hours but he finished in half the time. When he was done everything was explained to me and provided in writing. The experience was painless and the best part is he saved me from buying a condo that needed new $8000 condensers!  I will use Milestone again and would recommend them to friends.

BEWARE.... These guys will lie to you, and try to charge you a fortune!
The guy tried to tell us... That you should replace every plug in your house, every 20 years. Has anyone ever heard of such nonsense?!
My roommate had called them.. When I realized who they were.. I said, we can't use them!
They wired my friends house.. And 5 days later, every electronic device was fried! When I mentioned that to him, his attitude changed real quick. He asked where this was.. Then preceded to say.. Well when that house burned.. I stopped him there.. Saying her house didn't burn, but if they burned a house.. We are definitely not using Milestone!
He quoted us almost $3500. We had the work done with another company for $1300. Major difference!!!

Our home was built in 2012 by a nationwide reputed builder. ESP did all the HVAC work for the builder. I got a call (from Milestone) few days ago that ESP went out of business and that Milestone is taking over their business - the lady on the phone offered a free inspection. Three technicians came to my home and gave me a quote of 11,500 to fix certain things. They were very pushy and wanted me to sign right away. I am glad I didn't fall for it - I went to Bryant's website (our HVAC manufacturer) and contacted one of their distributors. Bryant's distributor was very professional and thorough - they went through our HVAC systems and gave a clean chit. I am glad I didn't fall for Milestone's scare tactics and waste my family's hard earned money.

My AC went out unexpectedly.  I called these people, they came out, they spent 20 min and replaced the condensor. After which I was bombarded with their bad news. That it was just a band aid fix, that a new unit was required ( they would replace with a new one $10,000.00+). I having just had surgery and on a fixed income KNEW of my situation. The pressure to buy from them was overwhelming. I was not in the financial position to pay for such. I paid them the charge to band-aid $452.00. I asked them to hold the check until I got my SS. They agreed, but processed the check anyway. My account is overdrawn now. A lesson learned to NEVER do business with Milestone Electric again. AND these are suppose to be Christians, never EVER again.

If you don't know anything about your air conditioning system these people will tell you you need 10,000 worth of upgrades. I hired them to come out and clean my AC coils and do a tune up only because I have young children and time is limited. After a 7pm arrival, while I'm trying to put my 6 month old to sleep, the tech shuts off both units to clean and do testing which I begrudgingly agreed (because I had been waiting for the appointment all afternoon) to as it was 102 outside and therefore would be burning up upstairs in minutes. He checks out the system and cleans the outdoor units. My expectation of clean is to remove the outer shroud, use a cleaner degreaser, then spray the units down to really clean them. For 160.00 dollars I was willing to let someone else do it. He got out a hose, no cleaner, sprayed them for 5 minutes. When I questioned him he said removing the outer shroud wasn't necessary and neither was using cleaner, it doesn't do anything. Right. He then proceeded to make his recommendations ex install UV lights for 1100.00 EACH unit, along with some other upgrades totaling 6000.00 I believe. For a DIYer a UV sterilizer is 55.00 on amazon and I installed it in 15 minutes max. Prepare to bend over if you have them do any work on your home. I am personally horrified by their sales tactics and audacity of their pricing only because I know this works on some people who don't know better. I didn't even read other reviews but a 2.5 average says enough. Buyer beware.

**update...these guys came out and fixed the problem at a reasonable price.  The tech was very professional.  You can see below I had a problem with them initially and they went above and beyond to correct it.  Every organization can make a mistake.  I found Milestone was prepared to correct it.

**update...David the manager called and acknowledged the oversight in the ad and offered to fix the situation.  Very professional.  Will fully update stars once job is complete.  Hopefully this week.

These guys sent me a coupon for a $99 drain clean.  I called and scheduled and then they let me know it was plus a service fee of $69.  Total bait and switch.  Frustrating to have this level of dishonesty and the coupon has no service fee disclosure.

Milestone Electric, they won't fix it in a flash!

I've seen the commercials on morning TV  for months, the big, jovial guy lip syncing to the tune, the kids singing it at Christmas, they look like nice people to deal with.

My air conditioner stopped working on a Saturday, I gave Milestone a call. They were very polite, telling me they would be out that afternoon. When they arrived, the technicians were friendly but seeing my outside unit, they started a sales pitch on replacing the entire system, about $18,000. I would really rather repair than spend that much money if possible and they spent about 15 minutes diagnosing the issue. They found my thermostat was faulty and needed replacement.

They took out the old one and provided a Honeywell basic thermostat, one you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's for about $100. It took just a few minutes to put in. My total cost was $615.85. That's a fair amount for the service call and installation but I agreed rather than pay their service and diagnostic fees just to start over with another company. By the time I got another service company out and paid their fees, I wouldn't have saved much money.

About a month later, the air conditioner was acting up again, also on a Saturday. It would work and then suddenly stop for hours, then start working again. I had another service company out that Saturday but they couldn't find the issue. We spent a hot weekend at home.

On Monday, I had Steve Baser come out and he spent some time with the system. He finally looked at our 1 month old thermostat, took it off the wall and told me that all the wires were loose, the little screws holding them in had not been tightened. Tightening the four screws was all we needed, everything runs like a champ now.

You would think for the price of installation, they would have been more diligent but it seems they weren't. Not only did they overcharge me for the thermostat, they didn't even install it correctly. I won't be calling them again.

I had slow draining kitchen drain so I call Milestone. They came out and ran a cleaner through the drain line for $99. The tech said that to keep the drain clean I need to buy Bio Smart. He said to use it once a month to eat the grease away. After three months, and using the Bio Smart the drain became blocked again. I called Milestone and a Bob Turner told me that the tech had given me the wrong info on the Bio Smart and that he would refund the price for the Bio Smart which was $99. That was two months ago and I have not received any money from Milestone. I would not recommend them to anybody.

I used Milestone about a week ago and they where terrific. The technician showed up promptly and was very polite. He was able to figure out the problem in a few minutes, faulty wall switch. He also did a walk through of my house, which is 44 years old and has been remodeled several times. He noticed a few things that weren't done right, power line for external garage tied directly into the main power in front of the breaker. He gave me an estimate to repair it and was not pushy at all answered all of my questions and showed me what they fixed that day and if I choose to repair the garage power.

Christopher came into my house red carpet first, literally.  He rolled a small red carpet onto the floor just inside my house.  That way he would not step into my house with dirty shoes. Then he put his booties on so that he could proceed through my house.  That was awesome.  We are a shoeless house (no shoes beyond the entry way).  There aren't that many repair men that will go that extra mile to keep my house clean.  Also, I highly recommend you become a MAM member with Milestone.  They do A/C, electric, and now plumbing in certain areas. I am fortunate enough to be in one of those areas.  They are great.

Daryle came out to repair/replace a ceiling light and a shower light.  While he was here, I asked for if it was possible (at a later date) to put a light in the pantry and do under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. He did a bid If on all of it, including going to buy the fixtures. He was able to do the work he came for and the pantry light on the same visit. He and Grant were very professional and finished the work faster than I thought possible. I will have them back to do the undercounted lighting as well.
Highly recommend them.

My review for 5 stars is strictly for the technician we had at our home.  Dustin was AMAZING.  Courteous, knows his business, and was all around good guy.  I have never had a job done around my home that went so seamlessly.  Dustin was neat and cleaned up better than I would have.

I am a collector of fine antique art and had Dustin put in 4 recessed outlets behind my art so that I would not have cords hanging down.  He was conscious that I had expensive pieces and took extra care when handling/moving them.

Even though the outlets are hidden behind the art, I wanted Ivory receptacles that matched the paint.  He only had white on the truck, and went to Lowe's and Home Depot to try and find Ivory - no one had them.  I asked if I could order them myself and use my own materials, it was no problem at all.   (Saved me a LOT of $$$)
Dustin came back a 2nd time and did the actual work and everything went perfectly.
5 stars for Dustin.

As for the pricing of the job and that it's a big company trying to sell you a million other things - did NOT like that. When the BOOK was pulled out, I cringed.  I was already thinking that this is going to be one of those companies that have the dreaded book and everything is double the price of a regular electrician.

First price we were given was sky high for 4 outlets - to the tune of $974!!!!  I actually laughed.  I just got up and said thank you very much - but NO.

It took management approval to get the price down and with us supplying the outlets now - we got the final job down to $505.

It was a fair price - not the lowest I could have gotten, but fair.  (Probably should have been in the $350 range, I just did not want to start over on this - which is what they are banking on!)  Don't ever go with their initial pricing.  When they know that you are not going to use them, prices start falling.  Use your common sense.  It's a big company trying to pay for all of those TV ads they do.  :)

**I wanted to mention that there is a $50 coupon for them on line and also at the BBB website.  So, a $69 service call becomes $19.  Can't hurt to get a quote at that price since they will not tell you ANYTHING on the phone.
On my first service call, they were running behind and the office actually waved all fees without even asking!

Milestone Electric has become our one stop shop for electrical, plumbing, security, and air conditioning. Last Wednesday their technician, Julian, arrived to perform the regular spring checkup of our air conditioning system. (That system was best described as a Frankensteinbecause of all the patches that had been performed over the years.)  As expected he reported the filters were dirty but unexpectedly he found an accumulation of severe problems resulting from failure of some previous patches and Jake leg repairs performed by previous contractors. To make a long story short, the cost to repair ended up being more than the cost of a new system. There was no attempt at hard sell, in fact Jasper's recommended replacement was next to the cheapest offered by Milestone.

I could not have been more impressed with the installation crew or the results. They arrived at the agreed upon time the next morning and went to work while we sere still having breakfast. They were friendly, polite as well as thoroughly competent and professional. Milestone went well beyond the minimum required for the installation, replacing and rebuilding everything, even the floor the unit was standing on and reworking the plenum to assure even distribution of air all at the original cost agreed upon. When they left that evening the garage, where the unit is located, was cleaner than when Milestone arrived. Even better the new system is quieter, runs less than the old, and the temperature in the house is far more even. My wife is so impressed by the change that she keeps opening the A/C closet door just to look at it. She isn't even complaining that I have the temperature set too low!

WOW what a profit margin they have and sales push. Be aware and be smart

A few months ago I called Milestone Electric to come to my home and give me a quote for fixing my florescent lighting on the top of the kitchen cabinets. Some would come on and some would not but just flicker and go off.  I had two 4' and two 2'.  I was told that my builder of seven years ago put in older fluorescents than what is being used today.  He said I could replace them all or replace the ballast which is a small electric box which makes the fluorescents work.  He gave me quotes for three options as I made it clear to him I was not going to spend a lot of money getting these lights working again.

What a joke the quotes ranged anywhere from 500+ to 800+.  The lower price was to simply replace the ballasts.  I said thanks but no thanks and good buy!  It just did not feel right.

Before he even left my driveway I looked on line (Home Depot) to price a ballast and guess what one cost anywhere from 15.00 to maybe 24.00.  So even if I replace the ballast in all four lights with the highest price ballast, for my lights,  would have cost about 96.00.

Can't imagine the price difference for replacing all four ballast is labor.  What a profit margin!!! WOW I wish I could get away with that.  That must be how they can afford their advertising budget.

I can't believe that Milestone thinks the end consumer's, like me, are that stupid and uneducated!!   If they do I'm guessing this will catch up with them if it hasn't already.

Get a good Handyman.

Annual furnace checkout resulted in a +18K estimate to repair furnaces that they said operated perfectly fine during the Jan 2015 service call. Claiming new camera technology allowed them to see cracks they hadn't before-CO2 readings that hadn't been there before they pressured us to replace parts that they said would fail again due to pour installation of the machines. To replace machines was $25k+, so this was a bargain to them at $18k. Smelled like ridiculousness and after a call to the manager who said it really wasn't necessary to make anything other than small repairs in the machines totaling -$1k- it became apparent that Milestone tries and scare customers into spending needless money to fix problems that are minor by recommending replacement at astronomical prices. Cancelled my service contract won't ever use them again.

Technician came to my house for a repair on my ac unit that was not working properly. He was very professional and explained many things going on with my ac system. Finally he looked outside and he replaced two parts on the compressor unit. All fine and dandy here until the company charged me to replace two $50.00 parts for $500.00 each (no kidding). He stated if I sign up on they yearly maintenance plan I would save money and prices would cok me down (about $400.00 a piece). So for a $99.00 repair service call, milestone electric charged over $1000.00. Great service, but they will take you to the cleaners. Consumer beware.

Horrible, shady company that uses shady tactics.
I called them about installing an unswitched electrical outlet in my home in Denton. They said they cannot give prices over the phone, they have to come see the job... and of course they charge $69 to do that, but if you use them they waive that fee.

I hired a local electrical company in Denton that has been in business since 1922. They charged me $86.

Forward to three months later, my girlfriend in Frisco calls Milestone Electric to do the same thing, an unswitched electric outlet. They show up with a book with prices pre-printed in it. So not only are they shady in how they will not quote a price, but their price is $301!!!

Doing business with this company is akin to shopping at the creepiest of used car lots. They do things that are designed to get you to pay the maximum amount of money while they do the minimum amount of work.

GROSS OVERCHARGING at Milestone Electric. Be careful... THEY'LL F*%K YOU IN A FLASH!!!

My AC was out when I got home from work earlier this week.  It was about 9 pm when I called and got the answering service.  They took down all of my information and said someone will be in touch in 15 minutes.  30 minutes went by and I called back and told them that I still haven't received my call, they informed me that they will make contact with the dispatch again.  Then 60 minutes went by and still no call.  I called another service and they came within 45 minutes.   Shame on you Milestone! To this day I still haven't received a call back.  They verified all my contact info and it was correct. No excuses!

$380 to flip a circuit breaker.

I will never use Milestone Electric. They sent Dayn out to my house, and he charged me $380 to basically flip a mislabeled circuit breaker, after trying to sell me a year of preventative maintenance. Then they sent me an email offering me a $25 gift card if I would submit a positive review to one of several websites, including Yelp.  If you read Rebekah O's review, that is EXACTLY what happened to us.

DO NOT USE MILESTONE. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND PAY FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS!!

I've been a loyal customer since 2012 and I have come to rely on Milestone more and more each year! Shane came out today to help me out with my cameras and i received excellent, professional, and courteous service as always. I travel often and security is a top concern. I feel taken care of at every visit and they always fit me even though I'm terrible at calling last minute. Thank you so much for your service!!!

These people are extremely over-priced and have sketchy sales methods. We had two lights in the bathroom that wouldn't come on and 2 outlets in front of the bathroom that not working so My husband called. Two very nice guys showed up -- one in training. They wanted me to sign a form saying I agreed to pay about $450 for repair then $69 fees and $19.75 for something else (i dont even know what it was) . One guy talked on the phone with my husband and explained how it wouldnt probably cost that much and he could drop the price down so we agreed to let him do the work . He found what wrong with it in prob 5 mins but he tried to explained it was so hard to find what went wrong and tried to take as long as possible (more like talking). Its bullshit . We used this company before and the guy that came for the first time charged us for less than $200 to fix the same problem thats why we called this company again but this time would be the last time we used this company .

Milestone came out to our new home and completed a variety of tasks ranging from pluming/gas lines, electrical work and home security monitoring. Five of the technicians worked swiftly and diligently. I was astonished at the amount of professional work ethic and values that the men possessed. My wife and I were über-impressed with the level of care, effort and thoroughness that each and every one of them put forth. Thank you to Josh, Shane and Fernando for not only a job well-done - but one happy family in Heath, Texas.

I called to get the exhaust fan in the bathroom fixed, the lady that answered the phone asked all type of questions and even went as far to set me up an appointment, and then she put me on hold to talk to the supervisor to see if he really wanted to do the job, wait turned out the milestone electric co.is a liar, they won't fix it in a flash,so I would set boycot them andfont use them for any electrical service of any kind.

I have mixed feelings about this company as they've done some really good stuff for us, but a recent visit by their HVAC technicians kind of made me question.   My pet peeve with this company is they're always trying to upsell me when they come.   This time, when they came I seriously questioned them because we had an HVAC check less than 2 months ago and were told the unit was in tip top shape.   We learned the hardway to change the batteries in the thermostat and their technicians never ever checked it on the yearly checks.  The batteries had exploded.  They cleaned it up and put new batteries in it and checked the unit and suddenly were trying to sell me a new coil for over $3000.  They told me it was low in freon and needed 3 lbs at $112 lb.   (outrageous).    I question the time they spent doing this too.   I just felt a little ripped off.

I give them credit for being good at advertising, their fast response and friendly people. But I wouldn't hire them given how ridiculously expensive they are. I had them out to move one light switch and 1 outlet about 3 feet down a wall. They quoted me $1600. I was shocked and sent them away. I looked up a local licensed electrician who came out and did the same job for $325.

Great Job!!! Professional efficient and quick! Valerie came out to install a heavy light fixture I picked up from Habitat for Humanity Dallas resell store in my home office.  We talked in detail about pricing and options of how I wanted the light to look before she got to work. She did a great job with suggesting a few other energy-efficient things for us to consider in the future as well.

My morning did not get off to a good start and by 10:45 I knew I needed more security cameras (nothing bad happened but a need was there). I called Sandra and she got me connected to Rebecca. These ladies were so nice it was hard to believe I called a large company. I said, I need Rudy and I need more cameras. Rebecca knew there was a cancellation on Rudy's schedule and sent him my way. Rudy listened to my concerns and what I wanted. He is awesome at listening, rare these days. I upgraded my system and added additional cameras and then Rudy asked me about my phone. When I had the original system installed my phone was not smart enough to monitor the system. But Rudy noticed my new phone and now I can watch all the cameras where ever I am. This experience was just as awesome as the day I first called Milestone. I am so thankful for these folks, and so glad I called.

Wow.My regular electrician was booked so I called Milestone. They gave me a quote of $429 for a job my regular electrician charged me $240 for ! When their rep saw I wasn't going for it he started talking about how my house was going to burn down because we had a bad electrical panel. He said it would be between $3000 & $5000 to fix it .I spoke to my regular electrician and he agreed it needed to be switched out but quoted a price of $2200 firm !
From now on I will wait for my regular electrician.....Frisco Electric !

Called them for a circuit repair.  Straight forward for any electrician.   It was 79.95 for them to come out.  When they found out we had a business in our home he had to call to get the price.  He quoted me $450 to find the problem and another $1300 to fix it.  I paid the $80 and said no thanks.  They did send me a thank you card!  ?????

I moved into my new house and when a plumbing emergency arose the same day, Milestone was the only company who would come out on a Saturday at 5pm and get me taken care of. Michael Simmons was very helpful and knowledgeable, you could tell he knew what he was doing. I'd say it was quite pricey, but the seller paid for it so I didn't have to take the hit. Though in an emergency situation I would probably call them again because of their responsiveness and knowledge.

Here's my problem with the Milestone Electric business model. They have a service charge of $69.00 just for showing up. Then they look at the job and give you a quote. That quote can be anything they want and you may turn it down, but you still owe them 69 bucks.
If they were able to give you an estimate over the phone, even a ball park, I would be less hesitant to use them.

Milestone is a company that has no problem overcharging people! I have a rental property with a stove that needed an element changed. It was hard wired to the wall & due to code change needed to have a plug installed in the wall and a whip (cord) attached to the stove so it could be plugged in. Before the warranty work could be done by another company, I was told I needed to call a certified electrician & bring it up to code. I called Milestone and scheduled a time to meet at the property. I was told that it would cost $250 to do the plug & $250 to attach the cord to the stove. I thought surely they meant $250 for the whole job because all the wiring was run & they only needed to cut the cord, put an outlet on one end and a plug on the other end. After a heated phone conversation with the manager, he was able to reduce it from $500 to $460! They knew I had a tenant without a stove for over a week & I needed to get it done. I had no choice and paid it but told them I would NEVER use them again! After the fact I discussed  this with several electricians & they confirmed they charged about twice what the job was worth! I now see this as a common theme in the reviews posted here as well!

We've had milestone security for several years and have been very happy with their installation, responsiveness, and service. That part of their business is great and far superior to places like ADT. Their electric and HVAC service are also good, although more expensive than others. Their technicians are courteous and their customer service managers really care about their customers.

Had Milestone come out for an AC tune-up to satisfy conditions from the buyers of our house. They came out and were very professional and got right to work checking both AC units. The whole process took about 1-1.5 hours and when they were done they presented me with a laundry list of options that needed to be fixed ranging $1000 all the way up to almost $4000! They said my coil was leaking on my 2 year old unit and that it needed to be replaced for $2k. They tried pressuring me into scheduling the work right away but I decided to do wait. I called the original company that installed the AC unit and found out that the parts were still under warranty so Milestone wanted to charge me $2k just for the labor! I had the original company come out to check the coil and they said the unit was just fine and no work needed to be performed at all! Milestone tried to take advantage of me and was only concerned with selling me services that I did not need. Avoid these guys at all costs!

Without going into the whole issue, I had a bad experience where I was baited into a security system and then was scammed on the parts. Essentially I got a 50 part for free that WOULD open my garage like the old system, but it was a fight with the owner to get this to happen. Still sore about it, but it's been a year of hassle-free security. I can't give more than 3 because they wanted to charge me 5000 to replace my breaker box and charged me 100 dollars just to look at it. Don't get me wrong, great service, horribly high prices.

If you got the cash, call them. They're not bad, just high.

Great company! We've used them for the last 2 years for our HVAC servicing after having terrible experiences with 2 other companies. Recently we also had them complete a large electrical job for our kitchen remodel. While they are probably not the cheapest within DFW, they do some of the highest quality electrical and HVAC work I've seen (I'm a 10 year property manager) and they have excellent customer service! They should up when they say they will, technicians are super professional and work extremely efficiently. I could not recommend them more highly.

In the modern days of Internet based services and skilled tradesman a dime a dozen, you would expect that they would be willing to compete for your work, and projects.

Milestone however, feels it necessary to charge a $69 fee just to give you the privelege of offering an estimate.

You should never have to pay someone to quote you a price for work.

The whole purpose of asking for a quote is to determine if the necessary improvement or changes to your home, will fit your budget. Having to pay for the Estimate, kind of defeats the purpose.

I ended up using two other Electricians who not only performed an estimate, for free, but also did outstanding work, and honored Milestones 5-year warranty.

Too concerned with selling us something we didn't need. Spent first 30 mins trying to sell us a maintenance program. Then tried to scare us by saying things were not up to code (current code not when the house was built.) Spent $500 to have a switch thrown and a plug replaced (which didn't need done.) Friendly and fixed the problem but when we call for a service, we want that service, not a sales pitch. Won't use again.

Total waste of time. I called Milestone to fix a problem with my residential phone lines. I clearly explained the problem during initial phone call. Technician showed up. I explained that AT&T had previously come out and addressed the issue in the past and verified that the problem was with the lines in the house. However, since I had not called AT&T on this specific incident, he used that as an excuse to do nothing and leave. After he left, I went outside and verified that the issue was indeed with the lines in the house, by connecting a phone to the test line outside and it worked. It took me less than 5 minutes to verify the issue was with the lines in the house. Apparently Milestone can't be bothered to even TRY to troubleshoot a basic issue. Forget these people.

*UPDATE*
I contacted Hello Telephone out of Arlington. Steve was able to show up at my house within 3 hours and had the phone lines fixed within 30 minutes. I very much appreciated his assistance and excellent service. This also further underscores how little Milestone tried.

**2nd Update**
I spoke with Scott at Milestone. He honestly apologized for the problem and explained what went wrong with their service. We discussed the overall service issue and he came up with a resolution that I am satisfied with.  I have gone from a VERY dissatisfied former customer to one who is willing to forgive the mistake and give a 2nd chance. Milestone did an excellent job of customer follow-up and being accountable. Thank you very much, Scott.

I had a air conditioning unit that was not cooling, it was blowing hot air. I called Milestone to come to my home and diagnosis the problem. When the Milestone employee arrived he went up to the attic for a couple minutes and spent a couple minutes outside looking at the units. When he came back in to tell me what he had found. He stated that the units are old and not worth a repair. He also mentioned that a wire was broken on the unit outside and he could have been shocked. He spent 30 minutes sitting on my couch, I thought he writing up the repair, but he then tried to sell me a new ac unit ranging in price $8,000-18,000. After he left I went out to the unit and fixed the broken wire myself, which fixed the problem. That was 2 years ago and the unit is functioning fine.

Well, we made an appointment with them. They said they'd come the following day between 2 and 6. So we sat at home from 2 until about 5:30, when they called and said that they were running late and didn't know when they'd arrive. So we called a small, independent company that was able to give us more definite arrival time. At a lower price, I'm sure.

We have used Milestone successfully over the years. Used to think that Milestone was worth the 'premium' on their price for the expectation of good value and piece of mind of quality service.  But recent visits re plumbing / AC in our house have left us appalled by the blatant upsell and overcharging tactics of Milestone people e.g: $411 to fix a simple toilet leak. We also succumbed to the pressure of 'hey while we are here can we check your major devices' ? And guess what ? They found that the water heater needed replacing and quoted us $3100 installed for a brand that is poorly rated !! They found that all our hoses were worn and needed replacing. And that all emergency stops were suspect etc. When all was said and done the plumbing 'problems' list totaled $6400 . The AC guy recommended we also install some additional surge protection for our AC systems as they were 'at risk' ! Another $2000. Ironic in the extreme as they had installed our AC system 2 years prior !! If their diagnosis was true then they had installed a system poorly for us in the first place ! We will probably not use them again as Milestone are now clearly overpriced and their staff seem to have incentives to upsell and invent issues/urgency that doesn't exist. Its also bad tactics to 'worry' homeowners.

Horrible! Even though their customer service is good when you schedule a appointment soon as the technician arrives everything goes down hill. They are ridiculously over priced cheats. They push sales and bully you into repairs you don't need . They tried to get me to spend 700 for a temporary no guarantee repair or buy a whole new ac unit for 5500 I called a handy man and got a small part replaced for under 300 total n have a perfectly functioning ac . Worse part is the horrible attitude they have and dramatic change in customer service when you reject their sales pitch. If you don't have money to waste , don't bother calling them

Milestone has got it right!  I have called upon them for electric, plumbing, and A/C.  The techs are always on-time and professional, diagnose quickly and provide a quote before starting work.  The person who schedules when you call is very careful to get all the information correctly, finds a service time quickly, and reminds you by phone when the person is in route - great job.  They text you a name and picture of the person who will be arriving, which is helpful as well as a safety protection.  After several service events, I can say they are awesome!

I have used Milestone Electric for a number of years, and today their performance was exceptional as always.  First, I pay for the plan at $129, and this pays for semi-annual HVAC servicing twice a year.  Today, they again returned to check the condition of my air ducts in all rooms of my home.  They were prompt, courteous, efficient and thorough.  I have never felt pressured to pay for anything that was not necessary.  I have found them honest and true gentlemen.  My home was left as they found it-everything replaced and no mess left at all.  I was given options to consider for having my ducts cleaned, but that choice was left up to me to request at any time or not at all.  Thanks to Simon Torres and Robert Latchaw who made this check truly a pleasant experience!  Keep up the great work!

I will be canceling the MAM plan I purchased just over a month ago. They say their plan includes 'an inspection' for HVAC, plumbing, electric. But these inspections are truly just a way for them to send a sales person to try and sell you a new HVAC, water heater, smoke detectors etc. They use dooms day sales tactics and their pricing is crazy expensive. I signed up two homes and tried working with them this last month on both and was not impressed at all. I did have a couple of plumbing issues and hired them for one job that I had to arm wrestle them to come back and complete after they overcharged to look at it for $500. Then had a circuit board go bad on the furnace, they quoted close to $1,000 to fix/replace it; I called around and found a Trane authorized company and the part was $325 (I had googled to find the  part-and cost) total install with different company was $450. They use fixed pricing, not hourly and they say their MAM plans include a discount but even after that it's still very expensive. Yes I know 5 year warranty, they have costs and over head but so does everyone else. They spend a lot of money on marketing which is why they push to sell new products with higher margins. I get it! Buyer beware. Also even the term MAM plan when you think about it makes my skin crawl, sorry guys they don't have a yes sir plan. I will say their phone service people are nice and their scheduling was on time so this gets a 2nd star.

Heavy sales/commission based techs. Everything is worse case scenario. Got a second opinion and most of my issues were not issues at all. A couple were actually lies. They are trained well, and make those $$$ from add-ons and upgrades. Units working fine but I was just told that all three units should be replaced to a tune of 25,000.  But no worries, they finance. Today had milestone come out for installing a new light above our front porch. Not only did they call to say they would be over an hour and 1/2 late, I watched the guy totally annihilate my trash cans as he plowed into them. After watching this, I sure as heck did not trust the guy to drill through the brick in my house or through my walls. After I told him I was only interested in a quote on installing the light, he said he had to do a 32 point inspection. I did not ask for this nor did I want this man going through my house to find things to upcharge me on. I told him that was not necessary, then he tried to tell me I could buy a mam package to make the charges less. I could not get this man out of my house. They are only about making money! He went on about surge protectors and would not take I was not interested. I certainly will call an independent master electrician for any need electrical I may have. Sad businesses have come to this. When I was trying to get him to leave he even called his manager whom tried to get me to reschedule them coming back out. Clearly, they are paid on what they do and will screw you for what they can. I feel like while I was trying to get this guy to leave, 5 milestone commercials came on in the background. No wonder they try to sell you everything under the sun, they have to pay for all this advertising!! He kept trying to write down other estimates ,for if I wanted a surge protector, or their maintenance program;I was like only do for what I called you here for, this upsale crap is a total deterrent for using them in the future.

We needed a new outlet installed in our new home's kitchen - and decided to call Milestone. I couldn't have asked for a better electrician!

Not only did I get the outlet installed in less than 20 minutes, I got an in-depth explanation of our electric panel and how to test our grounded breakers every month for faults.

The job was quick (and clean!) and I gained a ton of insight into our home's electric panel. I highly recommend Milestone!

Used the electric side once and they were great. Called about AC service a month ago and would not want them ever coming back out - terrible! The tech was there for about 15 minutes and advised I needed an entirely new system inside and out and it would be $10,500.00 (red flag #1). I told him I would need to get a second opinion before I committed to spending that much money. He said he has been in the business for over 20 years and the next guy would just tell me the same thing. He said the system was done. He said he could do the paperwork right there and get the system installed the next day. After telling him I still needed a second opinion, he then asked if I wanted him to clean it. Seemed odd to have it cleaned since the he claimed it was done (red flag #2). He said it was going to cost the same for him to clean it as it would the diagnostic & service call, so he went ahead and opted for the cleaning. He then told me for $800.00 he could change the fan motor and that should get it working (red flag #3). In a matter of 30 minutes we went from $10,500.00 to replace the entire broken system to $800.00 should get it working for about a week but it would break again. I paid him for his time and asked him to leave with only cleaning it (which I had already done the day before). I called another company who came out and advised me that the fan motor was going out (and gave me a full explanation of what it was doing and it would cost $160.00 to fix. He then told me where to buy the motor and if I was handy I could just fix it myself and it would only cost me $100.00 for the motor and new capacitor. I went with that option. $102.00 later and about an hour of my time, I was back in business. With the money I saved, I also purchased a new NEST thermostat for the house which I had wanted for some time. Fixed and for far less than $10,500.00 or the $800.00 second option. It has been more than an a month and it is still running just fine. After doing some more research since we do want an entire new AC / HEATING system for the house, I have learned that the $10,500.00 is a high price to pay and that there are numerous other companies in the area offering the same equipment for much cheaper. I will never solicit business from Milestone again nor recommend them to any friends or family.

Here is another review on their bait and switch tactics to overcharge you! For a bit of background information, we are in the process of selling our house. During the inspection, the inspector noted that current standard building code requires new homes to have all exterior (including garage) and all kitchen outlets to GFCI. Our house was up to code to the standard of the time it was built but, our home buyers really, really wanted GFCIs in all the outlets and HAD to have the work signed off by a licensed electrician. My husband and I are handy and changed all of the outlets ourselves. We literally only needed an electician to come by, sign off that the outlets were in working order and wired properly and then we would be done.

So, my husband called, told them the aforementioned story and asked what the pricing would be. The operator said it would a $70 dispach fee plus additional fees if there was work to be done. We knew there wouldn't be any additional work because we had already done the work ourselves and tested the outlets to make sure there wasn't any reverse polarity. The electrician gets here, tests the outlets, signs off on the work (was here less than an hour!) and slapped us with a $220 bill. Apparently, they charge a $140+tax diagnostic fee! If they did any work to any house, wouldn't they have to diagnose the issue thereby, charging a diagnostic fee?!? So, that $70 discharge fee you're being charged is for the privilege of having a complete stranger drive to your house. They do not wave the discharge fee if you go with them to do the work. The discharge fee is in ADDITION and you only pay this fee for them picking up to phone and having an electrician drive over.

Their whole motto is about saving you money by not making you pay hourly. However, I would've gotten out waaaaay cheaper if I had hired someone to do the work, what little that the electrician had to do, by the hour. Do yourself a favor and call someone else! Their new jingle should be: Milestone electric....we'll take all of your cash!

PS: the electrician told us that if we had them install the outlets (we had over 10) it would've cost $140+tax per outlet! We would've ended up spending $1609+tax for 2 hours worth of work. That equates to over $800/hour!

Byron Byars repaired two electrical problems I called about, then even went above and beyond by checking things I didn't even think about. He noticed one of our smoke detectors wasn't even wired in like it should have been and fixed it! He was so professional and friendly. I feel confident with his work, and he made a good impression of Milestone Electric. Will def use again.

I wish I could give negative stars. I have been a customer for almost two years. As a new home owner of an older home I knew it needed some work. I didn't count on needing as much work as they recommended, but I figured they knew more than I did so I got it all done. That was not the issue. Although they were a little pricey I didn't know better. A year later they replaced my air conditioner and heater. It was on my original list of things to replace when I bought the house, so, again, not a surprise. I've literally spent THOUSANDS of dollars with this company. I also had a security system installed. This is where the problems lie. A faulty sensor that kept going offline, a billing department that has gotten it wrong twice, an emergency dispatcher who was flippant and rude when an alarm was tripped during the day when no one was home when she informed my contact that the police wouldn't come but didn't explain why, and finally, being told I will have to pay out the remaining time when they messed up REPEATEDLY. I used to recommend them. Never again.

What a professional organization this is. We had the pleasure to deal with Rodney when he was called out after hours to assist Oncor when a transformer blew outside my daughters home. Rodney stayed until wee hours of the morning to get as many people back up and running with power and then was back onsite at 7am the following morning to start the worst home of them all which was my daughters home. Rodney spent 12 hours out there re-wiring the entire breaker box outdoors and also did work inside the home on some outlets that surged and blew black smoke on walls. Rodney went above and beyond what his responsibilities were & even assisted us to get a plumber called out to repair damage the surge did to a water line and once again that was another Milestone employee this time as a plumber. Rodney gave us his personal number to call him with any additional problems or concerns. Thanks Milestone- hang on to this guy- he's a great employee! I know who we will call the next time we need an electrician!

Keith, my electrician, was prompt, fast and extremely knowledgeable.  He had a solution to my recessed light issue before arriving.  I appreciate this proactive approach. While here I had him install a ceiling fan as well as change the batteries in my smoke detectors. I'll recommend him to my friends and neighbors as I am very satisfied with the service I received.

I was SHOCKED by their prices. First they were supposed to be at my house between 11-2 and didn't get here until 5 so they waived the $69 service call fee. I wanted them to hang a floodlight which involved drilling a single hole through the brick to tap into an interior circuit directly on the other side of the wall, run 5 feet of plastic conduit up the wall, mount 2 weatherproof junction boxes and hang the light I already purchased. Maybe $40 worth of material and a 1-2 hour job I have done myself before.  My jaw hit the floor when he quoted me $900. He said his price list says that brick penetration is $450. I have a hammer drill and could drill a hole through the brick in 10 minutes. Im just surprised that anyone would pay these prices. I know several other quality electricians that would do this job for 1/3 of what Milestone wanted. Now I know how they afford all of those commercials. No fault to the technician as I know he was just doing what the company instructed him to do.

They get 1 star for formerly being Butler Plumbing and apparently David Butler has sold to Milestone and sold his customers to a less than situation than they were used to......

I had a plumbing issue and I had to call to setup an appointment, as others have said, be there in a flash and having to wait a week don't coincide
The lady who called me was very pleasant and asked a lot of questions about my issue.....she said they would try to get me in earlier if opportunity came about which it did
Received a call from dispatch and he knew nothing of my issue so I had to repeat everything already discussed......left work and met workers at my house
Told them what the issue was and he pulled a cost chart and after looking at it for several minutes determined my issue would be 2nd from the top.....I questioned the high cost stating the leak could be a simple valve which would be an easy fix......he pointed out the leak could be down lower in my yard where the slope goes way down.....I told him that if this was true it would defy physics for water to travel to a higher ground and advised the water would flow downward.....he stumbled and said regardless they couldn't do the job today and I could think about it....I asked how much labor verses material was involved in this minimum cost he showed and he said he didn't know and someone would have to call me back.....almost a week went by and no call

I called and left a message and was amazed the next day I received a call from David Butler the former owner of Butler Plumbing.....I tried to advise what happened and I was cut off and was very rudely advised he was very aware what happened.....he told me his worker advised him I was very rude.....he told me the worker advised me, they do not inform customers how much labor verses materials are apart of their pricing.....I struggled to get any points across and I tried to say the worker was wrong and actually advised someone would call and he never told me what David said he did. I also tried to advise I was taken back that I broke from work and how my situation was handled but to no avail, couldn't get a word in.....make matters worse the tone in his voice was not worth debating with especially considering he was repeating from word of mouth and I was actually there.....
My take, workers and people I have dealt with are very nice and pleasant
David on the other hand, not so much
He sounds upset, bothered, and maybe tense on this deal, he made with Milestone
I have lots of experience with David which goes way back, and I have always noticed how he gets rude in his choice of words and tone when his opinion differs from yours
Maybe this deal is stressed his world because when he was Butler Plumbing, he hid behind his courteous workers and now Milestone has him dealing directly with customers and this is not his Forte

I would be careful dealing with this new company and be aware it isn't the same company no matter how you spin it

Good luck David wish you success in your new endeavor but I think I will seek elsewhere for future plumbing issues

I bought Milestone's program where I got a free air conditioning check up each year. It seemed like their service rep's main objective was to get me to buy a new and over priced system from them.  He listed a whole bunch of needed repairs and suggested I should not repair anything but buy a whole new system. I called in my regular service tech for a second opinion. He recommended no repairs and said my system was working fine.

Dependable, which says A LOT as compared to recent companies I've had during my renovation.  Friendly. Fast. And as far as pricing they are about the same as anyone else.  They may be a little more expensive but the quality and dependability counts for something!

Milestone Electric rocks! Scott and David were the best- very hardworking, efficient, polite, and absolutely knew their stuff. Why a person wouldn't use Milestone Electric is a mystery to me. Is it the cheapest? Probably not, but the saying goes you get what you pay for. When it comes to electrical issues I want the experts and Scott and David are. Thank you Milestone for employing awesome people who get the job done right.

Extremely disappointed with service we received from Milestone Electric. We bought the yearly a/c service policy. After two technician's came out to do our yearly check they came up with several things wrong with both air conditioners. Even though we told them our house was new and we had only been in it for 3 1/2 years, they still said we needed over $2,000 in repairs. They said one air conditioner should not be running because it had no freon and the other was low.

After paying to have another a/c company to come out for a second opinion, we were told that there was nothing wrong with either of our a/c's-freon was fine in both. Have since learned the technicians for Milestone work on commission -which explained a lot. The lady at Milestone (Melissa) is a professional and the best asset that this company has to their customers. She said that since I had called in and cancelled contract and was unhappy with service they would refund me--which they did. She  tried to encourage me to continue using Milestone for my electrical needs.

It's a real issue when a company pays their employees on how much they can swindle out of their customers when doing quotes or repair service.

Previously had ADT as my security company.  I had a broken contact on my back door, and they were going to charge over $125 for a 30 minute service call to fix it.  After several attempts to get in touch with a sales Representative, I gave up.

Instead I was able to get a completely new, wireless security system installed (with 3 alarm zones) for $40, with a 3 year contract.  The installer (Scott) was VERY professional and did and excellent job!  I would definitely recommend Milestone for anyone wanting a new security system, or who is offended by the outrageous service call fees that ADT charges.

I wanted a simple Thermostat moved less than 10 feet and my wife got a sales pitch and an estimate for 530.00 including vent relocation. This is ridiculous . I will never use this service again. I am shocked and very upset. I have spent over 148.00 to learn a lesson. I feel very out of fair and equal exchange. I declined the work and had the Thermostat moved by another HV/AC company for a 75.00 total fee.I will warn my friends, family, patients and Yelp and Google about your company. My wife did state that your technician was very friendly, however I needed one thing done, not a theory or dissertation on AC flow. I am very upset and needless to say will never use or recommend your company again.I had no problem with the service call but no quote was given when I asked over the phone I was told about a diagnosis fee which will be waived once work is completed. That is fine. I figured it was worth it to get it done in a timely manner. Caution you get the diagnosis fee and the service fee if you deny the work...so you pay 148.00 plus to find out that they over inflate their prices and then over recommend work on a simple task that was requested. Warning Warning !!!

Milestone Electric has taken advantage of me and my wife in every situation possible since we began using them for Electrical and HVAC service 4 years ago.
On a recent annual maintenance service for AC the technician informed me that we was an immediate need for over $7,000 worth of repairs. He provided me with a detailed list and it was virtually every piece of the indoor and outdoor 5 ton unit. He had pictures of leaks, drips and warning lights going off......
This was our tenth or twelfth visit from Milestone and I will say that everytime they have come to my home it has cost us hundreds of dollars....on the previous visit at the beginning of winter they convinced me that we needed all of our duct work sealed(poor construction by the homebuilder was the reason) and cleaned. We fell for it and spent $2800.....
Part of the summer service call $7000 needs was also to clean and seal the ducts and when I pointed out that we had just had that done 6 months ago he was at a loss for words. I told him that I would have another Service Co. review the system and get back to them.
I had the Colony HVAC folks out on the following Monday and all that was found was a connecting valve was wet(not leaking) and was finger tightened then wrenched secure. Amp meter readings were shown to me showing the equipment was in perfect working order.
It was explained that our system was low end builder grade but should have no issues performing for an additional 2-3 years....There was no charge for this second opinion.
This tech did inform us of several possible upgrades that were available when needed, but that nothing was needed at this time.
Needless to say, LESSON LEARNED at our house. Milestone was called immediately and our service agreement cancelled. Milestone will never come to my residence again!!
I will use Colony for any HVAC needs moving forward and call an Electrician for any other needs.
Shame on Milestone for shoddy business practices and trying to oversell every customer every time they walk into a residence.

Awesome! Received a call for a free A/C unit check. Milestone's technician (Michael Sweeney) showed up right on time & carefully checked our furnace & 2 A/C units. After a thorough check, Michael explained his findings in (appreciated) layman's terms. I asked Michael several questions after his professional review & was pleasantly surprised by his thoughtful/detailed responses...he wanted to make sure we understood. Michael Sweeney is a true professional in his field that any company would be proud to employ! Michael is an industry expert who provides exceptional value to his clients.

LIKE BOB H. THEY CAME TO CHARGE ME $ TO TELL ME I NEED TO REPLACE MY AC!! My AC went out expectantly, and I had called for Milestone AC tech guy to meet me at home. He manged to hook up and start work without me being there. He also starts off the conversation by asking me, Do you know the avg life of an AC unit? I was like, if I wanted a new AC unit I wouldn't have called you. I knew then he would make every excuse in the book to get me to buy a new AC. He told me it would cost $900.00 to refill my system. That is just the Freon. I had my AC filled 1 month ago for like $60.00. In his notes he recommended the system is too old to work on. If so why the hell did they come out? I told them the age of the AC!!! Long story short I contacted a real AC tech guy and he fixed my leak, charged my system, did the work for total $375.00. I handed the Milestone notes to him and he laughed pointing out with his professional experience Milestone wanted me to buy a new unit and not actually do the work. That is why the repair work is over priced. I will never call them again and would never recommend them to anyone.

They were incredibly professional and kind. Our technician, Josh, could not have been nicer. But their prices are literally insane. I called and discussed the security system with milestone electric,  I was told for the system that included  remote controlled door locks, thermostats and lights, along with remote control of my alarm system, the cost would be $39.95 a month, plus I would have to pay for the intstallation of the door locks, thermotats,  and a $99 installation fee.

My appointment was Saturday (today 11/2), between 2:00 and 6:00 , the technician arrived shortly after 7:00 PM (yes, 7:00),,,and was quick to tell me the cost per month would be the $39.95 quoted PLUS an additional $5 for the each of the extra services (the base price started at $24.95 but I wanted the $39.95 system because it included the extras

Obviously I quickly informed him that was not the price on his website, he ask to see it, and I showed it to him.  Having  obviously heard this before the salesperson (realize he was more sales person than technician), got his boss on the phone, who said our website didn't say that there weren't any extra charges).

He defended this obvious bait and switch.

They should not be allowed to stay in business,,

BEWARE MIlestone Electric  will rip you off based on my my interaction with them,,,

I have used Milestone Plumbing and Heating services several times now.  I will never use them again.  Plumbing:  had a leak under my bathtub upstairs.   First visit: They told me they could not duplicate the leak so they could not fix it.  Second visit 2 days later because it leaked again that night when my kids took a shower: They told it would cost $1500 to repair but first they had to cut a hole in my ceiling to make sure they knew what the problem was and the hole would cost me an extra $96.  I told them I wanted the $96 included in the overall fee because to fix it they needed to cut the hole anyway.  They refused and left.  3rd  visit:  their manager sent a diff team back:  the problem ended up being a simple seal they fixed in like 15 minutes - surprise - no $1500 repair needed.  It hasn't leaked in months since.    Milestone Heating:  heater worked fine all through Nov-December this winter. Milestone came out Monday to do an annual inspection.  2 days later it is now 29 outside and my heater is blowing, but not heating.  I had fire going in fireplace, didn't notice house wasn't heating til bedtime.  I don't knowing heating systems but I check the attic and it appears they have my gas shut off.  I can't find pilot light so I have to get them back out at 1 AM to turn the frigging gas back on so I have heat. (turns out there isn't a pilot light - who knew?)  But totally unprofessional service - who does an inspection and leaves the gas off?  Milestone - that's who.  So, to date, after several previous plumbing experiences which were fine, I can say: use them at your own peril.  Some of their crews are good, but others seem to have little clue what they are doing.

I moved into a home that was built in 1952. It had the original Federal Pacific breaker box with only six switches on the backside of the house. Water was able to collect inside when it rained, so it wasn't exactly the the safest setup. The cable company also refused to install their equipment because the breaker box was not ground. As a result I needed a brand new breaker box.

I called Milestone to come out and provide a cost estimate for replacing the box and mast to which wiring from the main power grid connects. Their estimate came just under $7,000! That was just to replace the box and wire in the new circuit breakers. Not even a month earlier, I had just replaced a breaker box in the condo I had sold. That ran me about $3,000 so I knew something was out of whack.

I called around and ended up getting one of the larger competitors to come out and install a new metal box, 26 switches and a mast with everything wired in for $2,500. When I told the other contractors the price Milestone had provided they couldn't believe it; they all said that it had better be gold-plated breaker box for that kind of dough.

Be careful if you call this place. Their prices are sky high. I called them based on a coupon I received in the mail. I almost made a HUGE, very expensive mistake, luckily I shopped around first.

-----------------

Okay...enough folks have contacted me to ask who I used for my electrical project that I thought I would update this review. A company called McBride Electric installed the new breaker box on my house. They did a good enough job that I called them first a couple years later when I needed a a gazebo in our backyard wired for electricity. Unfortunately, I discovered that McBride has closed their Dallas facility and apparently no longer makes residential service calls in Dallas. So, for my last 2-3 projects I have used a company called Caddell Electric.

We've used Milestone four times.  They did a good job on a safety check for a light switch and for a switch wiring issue so simple the bill was only $30 with a coupon.

We used them for a new wired smoke alarm system, which has been a disaster.  Within 12 months, the new carbon monoxide detector went off in the middle of the night.  We had to wake up our baby and wait outside for the fire department.  There was no carbon monoxide; the detector was defective.  Furthermore, even though the detectors are wired, the batteries that milestone put in them are cheap, no-name batteries that began to fail within about six months.  Every couple months for the last year or so, a battery will die and a random detector will start chirping.  It's always at the worst time-- the baby's room in the middle of the night, the master bedroom at 6 am on a weekend, the 2-story foyer when my husband is out of town, etc.  Infuriating!  For what we paid, they could've used new, brand name batteries.  Finally, about a year after the installation, I had a city fire inspection scheduled for my house.  I went to put a broom in one of the kids' rooms so we could test the alarm, and noticed that Milestone had skipped one of the kids' bedrooms during their installation.  Fabulous.

The second problem we had with Milestone involved an HVAC appointment.  The technician was supposed to flush the HVAC lines in our attic to remove debris and prevent a backup of water in our attic.  I kid you not, literally two days after his visit, the lines backed up, causing our AC unit to turn off in the middle of the night.  My husband and I went up in the attic and flushed the line.  A ton of debris came out and we caught it in a bucket.  We paid about $130 for the technician to do nothing.  That's when stopped trusting this company with our electricity.

Update: In response to my review, Milestone has offered to come change all the batteries in the smoke detectors and replace them with name-brand batteries.  Additionally, they told me that many of the detectors they've installed have been from a defective batch, and they will be checking to see if ours are part of that batch.

Most frustrating service ever!  They boast about being so Customer Friendly and they are anything but that!  We were the unlucky souls that bought the Maintenance Package and the Security System  - and we didn't need a new one!  Under the impression that they their NEW system would be a great improvement from our last (which they charge more for the monitoring) was a misnomer!  I have called several times to provide a security code  - waiting 10 minutes on hold to be told by the answering service (on Thursday morning at 8:45) they she would have someone call me back.  Its 10:15 and no call -- really?  How can they provide security?

Buyer beware.

These guys had come recommended to us via a local message board so we gave them a ring when we recently experienced some electrical issues in our home.

Long story short...
Milestone was going to charge us $1500, for what in our basic understanding of the situation, was a fairly basic repair -- and also in question whether it was our or the power company's responsibility.

Thankfully, we did not have them make the repairs and called the power company the next day.   Power company came out to our house and fixed the issue within three hours of our call -- for free.

Milestone completely misrepresented the situation that we were having and was going to charge us $1500 for a problem that took all of 15 minutes for the power company to resolve.

Less than 24 hours after I posted my initial review on Yelp, the manager from Milestone called me to let me know he was aware of the review on here and that he wanted to help resolve my issue.  He adjusted the price and applied a credit to my account.  The adjusted price was still a little higher than I was expecting, but he made a concerted effort and I was impressed by that.  As always, they are very courteous.

Milestone Electric is who we ALWAYS call when we have electrical issues at the house or my husband's office because we have been so impressed with the customer service of Milestone Electric.
The moment you contact Milestone Electric, the positive experience begins.  The person who answers the phone to set up the appointment always answers the phone with a smile and is so helpful.  The four times we have used Milestone Electric, we were scheduled quickly and at a time most convenient for us.   I know this may not be impressive to some folks, but I loved the way the electrician placed booties over his shoes when arriving at my home.  I never even knew Milestone Electric had been to my home when they were finished with installation of new plugs and lighting because the electrician cleaned the area before he departed.    The electricians are always friendly and I feel safe when they are in my home or our office.  I also like that the electricians let me know of other services that could save me money in the long run.  Milestone Electric has fixed minor electrical problems for us, but they have also added surge protection at our meter to protect our appliances and security lighting.   I will continue to refer Milestone Electric to my family and friends.  A special thank you to the entire Milestone Electric team for always providing an exceptional customer service experience!!! I called on Milestone to switch out five outdoor lights with identical new fixtures using existing circuitry and junction boxes.  I had already bought the new lights so the job involved labor only.

Their technician, a very nice guy, indicated that it was a substantial project  involving unknown problems and quoted the job at $1,300.  I thought he was kidding, but not so.

When I declined he suggested I might not appreciate the difficulties involved but said he wanted to call his office to see if management might make a lower offer.  I told him not to bother but he insisted and went through with what seemed like a phone charade with his office.  They reduced the quote to $740.  I again declined and paid them for their required service fee.

The following week a friend referred me to an electrician who quoted the job at $300, or $1,000 less that Milestone's initial quote.  He efficiently completed the work in an hour and a half and was very pleased with the payment.  It is a free country and Milestone can certainly charge whatever the traffic will bear, but my experience with them was not favorable.

I have had two great experiences with Milestone. I am honestly surprised at the good service. I didn't expect much from them but was in a pinch and remembered their commercial and they were available. They were fast, responsive, well priced (with regular coupons), did great work and really great in customer service. The technician and booking rep were very nice and helpful then they sent me another copy of the bill after payment for my records etc. I will definitely use them again.

We called these guys when a hot water heater burst to come out and do a replacement. Ended up hiring them to put in a tankless heater.  It was a huge job and they did an excellent job. Great customer service from the guys who spent 2+ days doing the work. As part of this project we purchased their membership plan that also covers our 3 A/C units. Since then they have come out twice for normal A/C checkups. Each time I can echo what others have written in reviews. The first time they came out and said we needed thousands of dollars of work and that our units were on their last leg. Didn't smell right as just about every component of our units had recently been replaced by another company. This week they came out again and this time we had three options to save ourselves from pending A/C disaster. Option 1: $5000, Option 2 $9000, or option 3 $14,000.  We sent them packing and had another company come in referred by a trusted friend who builds homes. Met with that technician yesterday - one unit needs 2 pounds of freon.  I really suggest Milestone stops seeing $$ when in our neighborhood and start getting realistic and really caring about customer well being. My understanding from the plumbers is that the company may have been cobbled together via acquisition so it is possible the plumbing side is as great as my experience and the A/C side is really a bunch of sales people coming to your home looking to maximize sales.

I've used MIlestone Electric for two homes now, and I have been happy with their customer service. some of their prices might be higher than others, but they seem to be more 'on the ball', more responsive, and ...they do background checks on their employees. I would recommend them to anyone for electrical work or alarm service.

I had Milestone Electric come to my house to help with a few items - outside landscape lights to be replaced, a ballast replaced, and an additional light switch added for an exterior light.  While the pricing seemed a little higher than I had been quoted from my Handy Man, I felt that it was worth a little bit extra to have a true electrician handling the work.

Byron Byars was the Technician who came to my house to do the work.  He was thorough, courteous, professional, and very well educated in all things Electrical.  He walked me through all of the items on my list to make sure he understood what I needed and that I understood exactly what he was doing.  When he ran in to an issue with the additional switch that I needed, he crawled around in my attic to find where the previous owners had the wiring going  to (versus where it should have gone to).  He was able to get it re-routed to the appropriate spot and took care of all of the items on my list.

I do wish I had known about the $50 coupon on the BBB site prior to calling them which would have helped a little but all in all, I am very pleased with the work they did - and for the peace of mind knowing it was done right.

Had them replace my electric panel on 8/2/18.  Learned too late their $5K+ was approximately 2 1/2 times higher than others in this area.  I had protested their MAM program at $160 extra but it went on the bill.  Protested it the next day and it was taken off.  I was told it had saved me $900 but that wasn't reflected anywhere I could find on the bill.  Veterans discount was given but also not listed as such so who knows?  Major league overpricing without itemizing anything beyond what they actually did.  Nice job in that it passed City inspection but, in my opinion, so highly overpriced I'll never use them again.  They also gave me a price of over $290 to replace the guts on my toilet.  I had my handyman do it for $50, including all parts, which they responded to with 'we don't compete with handymen'.  No wonder..I'll stick with my honest handyman.  I can only repeat what appears here so often:  AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Judson and Don were very professional and courteous when they showed up at my home to install my new A/C unit. They both explained how my new system would perform being that my compressor motor has a two stage, hi and low. They were very knowledgeable in their work. These two guys need to be recognized in what a great job they did.

Also, I want another one of your employees to be recognized, Anthony McCoy. We talked a few times on the phone about my new A/C unit. Anthony also filled out the necessary paper work from GP&L electric and faxed it back to me promptly, so that I can receive a rebate on my electric bill on the energy efficient A/C unit I purchased through Milestone Electric.

I would definitely recommend Milestone Electric for all electricity and A/C needs.

My 91 year old mother's house had a faulty circuit breaker.  The electrician suggested that the entire box be replaced.  I'm okay with things at this point.

He then informed her that she was not safe with her current battery operated smoke detectors and encouraged her to have units hardwired throughout the house.  He also suggested lightning protection for the house.  The home has been there over 50 years without one strike!

In all my mother spent close to $8,000 on electrical work for a circuit breaker repair.  It's a shame that these people took advantage of the fears of an elderly woman.  I live in Chicago so this is my only avenue to try and rein these guys in.  Stay away.

Each time I make an appointment for the service I pay for monthly, the technician is never on time.  When I call dispatch to get an update, because they keep us waiting, they give some excuse.  I asked what was the reason for me making an appointment, if they were not going to respect my time.  The dispatcher then said that they had a window of time between 2 and 7 to make the service call.  That is not a window of time, that is the entire day.  Still, they don't always make it on the day they say.

Very disappointed with MIlestone Electric.  Nice people on the phone, Nice manners from technician.
Actual work to be done was never completed. They came to our house on November 19, 2010.  They took a part out of our floor to get replaced, plus gave us an estimate to add a couple of outlets in the house. I have called 12 times since November 19 but they say they are waiting for a part..  My last call, I told them, I just want the part back. It is February 3, 2011 and no part. They lost my business, I guess they didn't need the $2300.00 worth of work.  Nice jingle and that is it.

From the very first phone call to Milestone I was impressed. We were looking to have 3 ceiling fans installed, 2 of which needed power run to the center of the room. The service call was scheduled for the next day. Austin and Chad showed up on time, in uniform and were both very professional. They were very knowledgable and did a full electrical evaluation of our house and even went in the... read more attic. When doing the job they wore show covers. Each time they would go outside they would remove them and then put them on when coming back into the house. I will definitely use Milestone again and refer all my friends!

I tried to replace several outlets in my kitchen, but since my electrical skill is approximately zero I couldn't troubleshoot the problem when the power wouldn't restore afterward.  It turned out that I'd installed the GFCI incorrectly.  I appreciated the quick response time from the company:  They came out early the next day.  They fixed the GFCI I'd botched and double-checked the other outlets I changed.  They also replaced a CB that was mechanically broken.  Those were all things I'd expected to pay for, as it was stuff that was self-evidently wrong when I called.  They also replaced an arc fault something-or-other and a surge protector, which raised the price for the day quite a bit.  Those two items needed to be fixed, apparently, but since the problems were invisible to me as the homeowner the psychological effect of the increased tab for it wasn't as easy to overcome.  Paying to have someone fix a repair I screwed up comes with the territory and is easy to justify, but on the other hand it's still preferable to have experts find and diagnose problems before they become bigger problems.  The company offers several programs for annual service that include discounts and I sometimes take advantage of things like that, but I'm not planning on keeping the house for long enough to justify it in this case.  I also liked that someone called to follow up, and the thank-you card was a nice touch, too.

OVER PRICED
We recently purchased a home and called Milestone for a quote to repair minor electrical concerns brought up in the inspection report. After assessing the home, the Milestone electrician (let's call him Miles) gave us a quote of $4,850. Some of the things that needed to be fixed were:
6 GCFI outlets ($114 each)
A new breaker box (he claimed ours was too old to be functioning...pointed out one breaker that was sticking out as evidence of his claim)
Since a new breaker box was needed, city code required new interconnected hardwired smoke detectors ($1300)

We were taken aback, to say the least. We said we would talk it over and decide.
Miles, as they were leaving, said, We do good work. You can check our reviews online if you don't believe me.
Great idea, Miles! We had not done so previously (lesson learned). 2.5/5 stars is NOT a good review rating . So many of the complaints here say that Milestone charges an arm and a leg, so we got another estimate.
The second electrician (let's call him Forest...because that kind of rhymes with Honest) quoted us between $400-$500 to complete the job. In Forest's estimation:
6 GFCIs need to be replaced, cost $25 each (compared to Milestones $114 each...dunno what brand Milestone was going to install that costs more four times the normal cost. Maybe Lamborghini makes GFCIs...I dunno).
Breakerbox is fine. Breaker that was sticking out was a quick fix. Forest fixed it while he was there doing the FREE assessment (Milestone charges $69 for an assessment. Most electricians we called after Milestone offered FREE assessments and quotes).
I asked Forest TWICE if the breakerbox needs to be changed. The second time he said, Well we can change it for you if you want, but why would I charge you money to do something extra that you don't need?
Touche, Forest. Touche.
Miles from Milestone also said that the breaker box was melting/burning, as evidenced by a screw that was darker than some of the others. Every time your AC goes on, Miles said, it's heating this up. He mentioned house fires more than once.
I asked the new electrician, Forest, about that screw. He said, Oh, that's just some rust. Not a big deal.
The only good thing Miles did was tell us to go online and read the Milestone reviews if we don't believe him. Thank you for the advice, Miles. You saved us $4,000 and a lot of stressful conversations involving the phrase Where are we going to get $4000?

LESSON: Call anyone else before you call Milestone. And if there's no one left, consider getting a degree in Electrical Engineering and then doing it yourself. Might be cheaper. Just sayin'.

(Miles and Forest aren't the real names of the individuals we interacted with, but they are still pretty cool names :)

In mid July, after a thunderstorm, we would faintly smell a smokey smell in the family room, kitchen and sometimes in the entry.  It would last maybe 5 minutes then go away.  We had our neighbor smell and that day the entry smelled like a bar-cigar, cigarette, and a touch of fire pit.  The other parts smelled a little.  In 10 min. it was gone. Smoke/heat/carbon monoxide detectors never activated.   Had Milestone out and they spent 2 hrs checking everything, rooms, sockets, attics, garage,  Couldn't find anything wrong except maybe dust accumulation and it was getting overly warm.  Said the builder used cheap outlets and pushed the elec wires in and clamped them down instead of wrapping them around the screw and tightening them down.  Should replace w/good ones & correctly install so had them do it.  Cost a pretty penny but don't smell smoke any more & who wants their house to burn?

I have used Milestone several times.  Always efficient, friendly and professional.  They provide and thoroughly explain work along with any potential options.  Work is done well (have never had any re-work necessary).  As some have noted, it is not the cheapest option, but the pricing is straight forward and clear up front (they have an a la carte menu of services they can provide with set fees).  I've never had a job cost more than a quote.

I needed a new plug installed in my garage and within the first 5 minutes of the initial visit, the Milestone guy was showing me pictures on his phone of houses that 'exploded' because of the electricity.  His estimate to have a new plug installed included replacing all of the home's wires, etc and would cost me around $8,000.  And he was ready to start right then and there.  Naturally, I got a second opinion.  Yesterday I had a trustworthy electrician install the new plug in less than 2 hrs and it cost me $180.  Stay as far away from Milestone Electric as possible.

Like another reviewer mentioned, I had seen their commercials all over tv. Their relentless marketing campaign had worked on me because when I had an electrical issue they were the first company to come to mind. I liked the fact that they were upfront with their prices, quoted like $600 to fix my lights that wouldn't turn on. The tech apparently couldn't figure out the root issue so he ended up charging me half price. Wasn't excited to pay $300 for replacing a gfi that didn't help.

I called Milestone Electric regarding some small electrical projects I wanted done around the house. When I made the appointment they told me that each service they would provide had a set price, but they would not share the prices with me over the phone. On the day of my appointment the representative arrived on time. I described the work that I wanted done - he referenced a binder to determine the set price for each job (change out 3 fixtures and replace 2 switches). He then provided me with an estimate....for over $700. I was shocked. When I told him that I would not be employing Milestone's services at that price, he said that I would have to pay a $70 fee for the visit. While I had recalled that there was a brief mention of this when I made the appointment, the details of this fee were not clearly explained....I never would have even made the appointment if I had known that I would have to pay just for an estimate. I immediately called Milestone Electric to express my frustration with the entire situation, and they were very courteous did not make me pay the $70 fee. I subsequently called an independent, licensed/insured electrician that I found in the Advocate who offered a free estimate and completed all of the work for $250. Milestone Electric is outrageously overpriced and they may charge you just for the estimate for your job.

This time I called Milestone I had some ceiling fan issues. They came out and determined the problem within 5 minutes.  While he was working, we were talking about the past storms and he then asked about surge protectors for the house.  I never thought about it but I ended up getting them to install a surge protector to my breaker boxes. Fully warranted and he had it installed and done in 30-40 minutes.  The real kicker is he cleaned up everything and didn't leave it for me.  Professional all the way.  Your messing up big time if you don't at least have them in the quote process.  i will be back.

After a great initial first impression of Milestone Electric after they came by to replace a blown circuit breaker and install a whole house surge protector, we signed up for their service plan.  This plan includes a twice yearly AC and heater maintenance along with discounts for their electrical and HVAC service.

Our central air conditioning went out, so I gave them a call July 26 to schedule an appointment the next day for repair.  We had another working unit  so we could wait another day.  Meanwhile we just moved our 5 week old twins to the family room.  I rearranged my Sunday plans to accommodate their schedule.  When they failed to show up between 12 and 2, I called and it turned out they lost the appointment.  Instead, they couldn't get someone out until much later that night as they were booked solid.  So even though I called 24 hrs in advance, because they lost my appointment others who scheduled that very day received higher priority than us.

So not only were my Sunday plans ruined, but we still had a non functioning air conditioning unit

Update:  Milestone Electric finally came to repair the unit.  The technician was friendly and took the time to explain what the problem was.  He offered three options.  Needless to say and to my relief, the unit was repaired and my home was comfortable again.  This earned it one additional star from me despite the earlier scheduling snafu.

I had Milestone out to install an outdoor ceiling fan and add a switch to our living room so we can turn the lights on and off from both sides of the room.

Their technician came out, was very friendly and wore covers over his shoes so he wouldn't get our house dirty. He had me show him exactly what I wanted done and then we sat down and he wrote up an estimate. In the estimate he accounted for a few things he wouldn't be positive on until he started the work and could see the situation. So, he gave me the highest price possible before he started instead of waiting to see what it was like and then having to go up on the estimate.

Turns out, the work came out UNDER the estimate and everything works great. I am very satisfied with the work and over all experience. I thought it was a reasonable price for the work and was done under the time he estimated.

I had a minor repair to be done (replace GFCI outlet) and called Milestone because they were listed in the 2011 Best Pick Reports - Quality Home Services Guide for Southlake, Grapevine and Colleyville.  I especially liked that they called me before the electrician showed up and told me the name of the person coming to do the work.  Chase was professional, courteous and efficient.  He explained everything to me and provided an estimate before doing the work.  I also like that the job is under warranty for 5 years.

Recently I had Milestone come out and install several can lights and some audio video plugs for my TV. They arrived within the scheduled time frame that was giving on my initial call. They went over the layout of my current wiring setup and what need to happen to tie it all in. Since I had no clue on where the can lights should go. They made several suggestions and went with the most cost effective!  We went over the pricing and liked the fact that they had all there pricing and warranty information quoted before the work was started. These guys did a great job and the most important thing was they cleaned up after they where finished. So I say great job guys and will use them again!

Last Friday the prospective buyer of my condo hired Milestone Electric to examine its breaker box because a home sale inspector had 'concerns' about it.  After the Milestone electrician  looked at the breaker box he told me that it was 'faulty' and 'dangerous' and needed to be moved and be replaced and up-graded because it can't be located in a closet, and it's present amp load exceeded its capacity by 40 amps.  He said he thought that a city inspector should look at it to determine if it was safe.

The work and up-grades he was describing would easily cost $5,000.

I've been in the paint/ construction business for over 30 years and I know that my electrical breakers and the box have been 'grandfathered' into and pass current residential code requirements.  The condo community where I live has 270 units with the same electrical equipment configuration as mine, and I've never heard of a fire or any electrical issues resulting from faulty breakers or faulty breaker boxes.  And I'm not aware that a breaker box has ever had to be moved or replaced to pass a home sale inspection.

The Milestone electrician was either unfamiliar with the city electrical code requirements or was trying to sell me equipment and labor I didn't need.  He said he'd check with his supervisors and left.

About 5 minutes later he returned and said that my breaker box was NOT faulty or dangerous,  and that the present breaker amp load didn't exceed its capacity,  it did NOT have to be moved or replaced.  He said a city inspector didn't have to look at it, and the breaker box was safe and would pass inspection.

I've had enough history with construction and codes that I questioned what the Milestone electrician said about the condition and location of my condo's breakers and box.  But I wonder how many people have the knowledge to ask the kind of questions I did.. and I wonder how many people might have been alarmed and persuaded by the Milestone electrician's report, and agree to purchase the up-grades and re-location he recommended.

Be aware of this company!

We first called Milestone because our downstairs A/C unit wasn't working. We paid $59 for a technician to come over and check our cooling system. After he finished checking our system, he quoted that both downstairs and upstairs A/C units' evaporator coils should be replaced because the leak was found in both evaporator coils, and the cost to replace them would come around to $11,500! He also said that he detected a carbon monoxide leak and natural gas leak, which we should get fixed too. He recommended replacing not only the evaporator coils but also the entire air conditioner, which would cost for both systems around $19,000. Of course we were shocked, so we called another company. We found out the root of the problem when a technician from another company came. He said that the actual issue was just a leak in the condenser pipe due to a short circuit from wires touching it. He said that the units were in good condition and that all that needed to be done was to fix the leak and add Freon to the system. He also noted that there was no way that the previous technician could know if there were leaks in the evaporator coils because the unit is sealed and never opened.

It looks like these technicians' goal is to make as much money as possible, without a regard for honesty. The lesson that I've learned is to always check online reviews for trusted companies before calling anyone.

Called on Monday 12 28 15 with electrical problem (light was flickering) in bedroom closet. Clearly explained to young woman who setup the appointment that the issue was in the attic. The reason I know this, is that I had replaced the switch and removed the fixture and without correcting the problem. The house has been remodeled and copper wire was used in the process, but the house is older and was originally wired with aluminum wire. I have found over the years that where these two types of wires connect, there can be issues. This is why I will call an electrician, as it exceeds my scope of knowledge.

The appointment was set for Wednesday afternoon. I was at work and my wife was at home. Tech arrived on time and was pleasant and knowledgeable according to my wife. He could not find any issues with the light in the closet; he removed the fixture and said it was alright. Everything was working. So she called me. I did speak to the tech and told him the issue was not in the closet it was in the attic. Probably the junction box. He then told me that it was going to cost $140 to do a diagnostic to find the issue. Really?  So the $69 service fee is just for the pleasure of showing up? Needless to say, I was upset, Not at the Technician, but the fact that he apparently was not informed of the information I had giving to the young lady who set the appointment, Nor was I advised that the $69 covered absolutely nothing and that to determine what an issue is, there is an additional charge. Which does not include fixing the issue.

I understand having to pay for time and materials to correct issues. I also will say on the behalf of the Tech, his hands are tied, since he has a fee schedule he must go by to determine rates. Also, he did not charge us for the service call, even though I told my wife to pay him.
But the issue is not fixed, still flickering this morning. Turned off a breaker box until another Electrician will arrive on Monday.

The thing that gets TO me is the fact to determine the reason for the flickering light was going to cost me $209 ($69 PLUS $140) . Before doing anything. I have yet to have a service company try that on me. I always thought that is what the service call fee is supposed to cover. I guess I am wrong when it comes to this company, a mistake not to be made twice as I will always ask first when setting up an appointment. By the way, when I did ask, the other electrical company does not charge this fee, it is part of the service call.

Just to be clear, this was not the TECH's fault, he was just doing his job.

My experience with Tech Wayne Worthen was 4 out of 5 Stars but only due to the  cost of the repairs. I rent the Condo from my Parents who now reside out of state. I mentioned to my Mother that there were several instances of power surges in the last 3 days that resulted in partial electrical outages in the bedroom and kitchen. I would check the Circuit Breakers but none had been tripped. I had reset the clock on the stove abt 6 times, but the last time the stove kept BEEPING and  showed an Error Code F9.  Mom had me reset the breaker for the stove it cleared the Error code for about 2 seconds and went back to BEEPING... I finally gave up and just shut the breaker to the stove off, and planned on eating sandwiches until Mom could get someone out to check it.  Soon Mom called me back and said to expect an Electrician from Milestone Electric within 2 hours. Wayne arrived about 45 mins later. when he stopped to put on his booties, I told him not to bother since the house is all tile & laminate floors. Wayne said even so, he would wear them just incase his shoes were dirty. I told him what had been happening with the Power Surges and showed him the areas involved. Wayne proceeded to give me a quote for the repairs. I called my Mother and let him explain everything to her since she would be the one paying the bill. Once Mom agreed on the price, Wayne started to track down the cause of my Power Surges. When he opened uo my Breaker Box, he found there was a wire that was burned and he replaced it and tightened all the connections in the breaker box. Wayne then checked the light switch in my bedroom and replaced the switch and tne wall outlet that was surging. Wayne  then proceeded into the kitchen to check the Stove outlet, which he replaced. this was the extent of his agreement with my Mom, but I asked how much more it would cost to check one more outlet in the kitchen. I have one outlet I only use once a year, but it had sparked more than once in the past. Wayne checked it at no additional cost and did need to replace it since the old one did show signs that it had shorted in the past. Wayne did recomend that all of the outlets be changef out in the future and the the Breaker Box be Updated, since the breakers are no longer available should they need to change one out in the future. I advised Wayne to put all of his recommendations in writjng  and send a copy to my Mom so that my parents could decide when/if they would take care of those  issues.
Wayne was at all times Professional and Courteous and explained evetything he was doing and why he was doing it. I am not sure if my parents would use Milestone in the future. My parents normally get 3 quotes for Anything, except in an emergency. My Mother considered these Power Surges to be an Emergency and had to find an Electrician in Dallas while she is in Arkansas

Chris came out for our annual inspection and was extremely thorough.  Was honest and did not try to sell anything we did not need.  I found him to be personable as well as knowledgeable.  We have used Milestone in the past and always find their outstanding service cannot be argued.  Their pricing may be a little steep but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.  The entire organization is extremely courteous which is saying something in our world today.

I am quite pleased with the work Alex from Milestone electric completed. We purchased the whole house surge protection system via a 'groupon' coupon. Alex arrived on time. He was very courteous and able to get the job done with little direction. When I expressed I was not happy with the install (a small misalignment causing the breaker panel to not mount flush on the wall), Alex promptly made the adjustment. I fell this was significant as it did require removing the panel again took another 7-10 minutes. Out of a lesser company I would expect justification rather than action.  Thank you Alex.

Alex then completed a safety inspection that included a recommendation I purchase (not from them) and install carbon monoxide detectors.

While Milestone's prices are a bit high, I believe you can have faith in their work. The service level was very good and they have an absolute dedication to customer satisfaction.

BTW - The 'groupon' coupon was a good deal.

Milestone - I am happy to pay the trip charge for your valuable advice and service.  I would like to see your prices lower a bit.

My wife recently had Milestone out and we could not be happier. They installed a plug and TV on the wall in our living room. Very reasonable for the work performed I thought! Their techs are all background checked so I was totally comfortable with them being in the home while I was not there. They made some good recommendation that I plan  to follow up with in the future. Thanks for the great service!!

Very prompt service. My pool pump had no power. Dustin came to the house and discovered the motor had burned out (causing a breaker to flip). He made a point not to leave until he had lined up the part for pick up and installation the next day.

The next day he returned promptly, and replaced the motor. He even replaced the wiring in the timer which had deteriorated over time and got the pool back in service.

As for pricing, I never got a comparison since i needed the pump fixed right away. He showed me the Milestone pricing book and quoted me the price to install the pump (parts included). It did seem a little high to me, but I was paying for the convenience and promptness of the repair.

Would definitely use Milestone again. Very professional staff, from the receptionist to the dispatcher to the electrician.

We first used Milestone Electric in an emergency situation when a water heater burst and began to flood a library.  It was on a Saturday but they were on hand within an hour, replaced the dead heater and another ov the same vintage and installed overflow drains that should have been installed when the house was built.  The plumber was neat, clean, friendly and most of all, skilled and efficient.

We have since used them twice more, including yesterday.  We were so pleased with
Don Pearce that we requested him again, and will do so for any future plumbing services needed.  Totally squared away.  The office staff was also highly professional, friendly and efficient.

We have and will continue to recommend Milestone to all of our friends.

I used Milestone Electric last October to work several items: add new outlet, ground an older outlet, run a new phone/internet line, and troubleshoot a short in a room that knocked out the overhead light and 3 of 4 outlets.  Byron came out and worked for a long time handling our requests and troubleshooting by crawling under the house to inspect the wiring several times.  He staid late and ended up coming back the next day to finish up with additional supplies.  He was polite and Milestone has their employees use shoe covers to keep your floors clean and use a pricing book to tell you how much it will be before they do any work (but after taking a look at what needs to be done).

This past week I called Milestone up again and got Zach this time around.  My dryer outlet wasn't working, but he was able to figure out in no time that one of the breakers had corroded and replaced it which solved the problem.  He was in and gone in 30 minutes.

I feel very confident hiring Milestone with their set pricing and warranty on the work they do.  I know if something goes wrong they will take care of it and they have a great rating from the BBB.

Updated Review:
I will update and say that they did call me back saying there was a mistake in me being charged for the service call and they had refunded my money. I have not checked yet to make sure it was done, but I think they wouldn't go through the trouble if they didn't. In addition a manager called and left a voice mail after seeing my review on here and did say he was sorry for the mix up and asked what they could do to get my business. I think I will try them on my alarm system once my contract is up on the old one because they do offer a lot of extra's with it (hmmm, just read another review on the alarm system...now not so sure, but anyway...). Also I appreciate the fact that someone took the time to respond to my concerns. Most companies would not do that.  As far as the landscape lighting I am still getting estimates but they do seem inline with what most are charging.

Original Review:
Very nice and professional but I just wanted an estimate on some landscape lighting, most places will estimate for free. Not this company. Was not told about the 69.99 service fee just to come talk to me until they were here and went through everything with me. Then gave me a free electrical inspection.  If they had told me on the phone when i called it would be $70.00 for an estimate I would skip. The pricing for the installation wasn't too bad so will still consider them for what I need done and maybe their alarm services, but $70.00 JUST to get an estimate? A little ridiculous if you ask me. They could have spent 5 min telling me what it costs and be done, then I probably would have hired them to do it on the spot. Now I'm getting some more FREE estimates. I wish someone had just told me on the phone I was going to be charged before hand.

I have been using Milestone Electric for about a year now for my electrical and HVAC needs.  I have been very pleased with their services especially Glenn (electrical) and Stephen (HVAC).  These two gentlemen have been very honest with the options available to alleviate the issues at hand.  I like the MAM program so that every time they come out, you do not have to pay the $69 service fee, it is good for a year no matter how many times they come out. I will continue to use Milestone for my electrical and HVAC needs.  Thank you!

Milestone Electric is one of the best companies I have worked with in recent years. My HVAC unit in the hallway started leaking and since I have Milestone's MAM plan, I called them first. I had an appointment scheduled same day between 2-4pm however, they called me at noon to let me know they had a technician free up and sent them right over. Steve Bustos did a great job assessing the issue and fixing it quickly. Great service by courteous, competent, and skilled staff. Thanks Steve!

Milestone provided service on three different occasions, all to provide upgrades to our existing electrical system.  Dustin Owens was the electrician for each installation - always professional, helpful, with clear explanations and left the worksite clean. The service and results were outstanding!  We obtained estimates from another firm with Milestone matched or beat different on first project.  Work requiring a licensed electrician is always costly thus best to get estimates in advance.  Milestones fees for home visits, estimates were comparable to other well established, larger firms.  Milestone's continuing service plan is excellent, can be included in project at overall small discount to that project costs, and locks in lower rates for future projects and covers normal maintenance such HVAC checks and smoke alarms battery change out (which we cannot do, due to ceiling height), etc.

Called Milestone to come out and fix a can light that wasn't working.  Was surprised that the quote was over 250.00 dollars.  Was in a bind to get it fixed so went ahead with the repair.  The repair guy was there maybe 15-20 minutes and at the end of repair it turned out to be a wire that had come lose.  Work was completed, but there prices are high for the work.  Will shop around before I would call and use them again.

Recently purchased a home with several issues.  I hired Milestone for electric work such as new electric panel and more.  The service was amazing.  I also had my heating unit go out just as it got cold.  The tech for that job was not as amazing and pushed a product that they charged me an extreme amount of money.  I take responsibility for not having done my homework before finalizing my decision however, with the house at 64 degrees and the weather reaching below freezing I didn't have much time.  I wish they would have considered my loyalty to them and what they had already gained by the fortune I paid on the electrical work.  I felt taken advantage of.  Putting that aside, I began to have issues with both heating unit they installed and the compressor newly installed, not by milestone.  Milestone came out several and I mean over 15 times to resolve any and all issues.  I am grateful for at least that much.  I would recommend there service, just make sure to do your homework on the pricing, they are expensive.

We called Milestone to check out our external light fixtures. Kris and Adam were very courteous and explained everything they were doing. It turned out that the timer we were using on our outside lights was not supposed to be used with fluorescent, energy efficient light bulbs. So, we ultimately had them replace the timer with a more modern one that is rated for fluorescent, LED, etc. At first, I told them to leave the old timer in and they were fine with it. There was no hard sell to replace the timer. In their house-wide inspection, they told us about several items that were out dated and COULD be replaced, etc. Once again, there was no hard sell. They never changed attitude, nor became rude when we opted NOT to replace anything except the wall timer which was the reason for the initial call.

$69 dollars to get an estimate. This is absurd. Why would anyone pay to get an estimate to have work done. I want the best job at the best possible price. If your so good have the confidence in what your doing. Giving an estimate is the cost of doing business. If your good you will get the job and more than pay for $69 COD you demand up front. I will never do business with this company.....

I cannot recommend this company. Firstly, there is a $69 service fee plus a $15 fuel stop fee to come out and provide the estimate. I was ok with that, it takes time for someone to come out to the house and provide an estimate. However, unlike many companies, they do not apply this fee to your bill if the work is done.  Secondly, their prices are very high. After explaining the situation I was quoted two prices; $391 for troubleshooting and diagnostics or $844 to install a new circuit and plug. I was later quoted $185 by another company to install the new circuit and plug. I now feel foolish for not getting a second estimate before having this company proceed with the work. The problem was that the circuit breaker that controls the outlets in the garage was tripping frequently. Based on conversation with the technician I ask him to go ahead with the diagnostics to see if there was a problem somewhere in the wiring or with the outlets or circuit breaker. I now know that the problem is due to a refrigerator that is on that circuit. Previously I had a different refrigerator plugged to the same spot and never had any issues, so it did not occur to me that the refrigerator was the problem. After examining the circuit breaker and plug the technician advised that everything looked fine and that the refrigerator was pulling to many amps for the circuit. I asked if he could install the new circuit. He said yes but that the charge would be in addition to the $391 for the 20 minutes of time he had spent doing the diagnostics. Thankfully I declined. I feel like he should have recommended the new circuit right from the start. Even though the work appears to be grossly over priced. Lastly, the technician spent more time trying to sell me their home service plan and surge protection products then he did troubleshooting the issue and providing an estimate.

I hired Milestone to fix a wall outlet and a closet light(pull string spring broken) at my rental property - $750. They talked me into the membership program which gives me a discount. The $750 was my discount price. At Home Depot an electrical outlet is around $15 (high end) and a light pull chain & outlet is $4.....The sales person told me that the membership allows me to use my membership discounts and $69 trip waiver on any of my rental properties and my own home. So, a few days later I had an HVAC issue at another rental property. I called Milestone, told them I was a member. They told me that I could only use my membership at the first property. I would have to buy another membership for each property. I said that this was not how it was explained to me and that their paperwork that I signed also does not specify one property per membership. After speaking with a manager, he agreed that the $69 would be waived at any property at any time. The only thing that I could not change was the HVAC system maintenance, I could only pick one to maintain.  He apologized and said he would have a talk with the Ladies answering the service calls. Now a month later, I have electrical problems at my own home. Once again, I call Milestone. Again, they tell me I can only use one property per membership and that I would have to buy another membership for my own home.  This is ridiculous! They false  advertise and their prices are outrageous even after the so called membership discounts. And they claim to record ALL phone calls, but mysteriously, they didn't have the phone call where their manager called me to apologize and explain that my membership can be used at any of my properties. Also, the service guy who came out to fix my one electrical outlet tried to tell me that I had to change out all my kitchen outlets and bring them up to date. If not, I would never be able to sell my rental property In the future. And of course he offered to do it right then and there. I knew better on that one. Stay away from Milestone, they are a rip off.

On a Saturday a rat got into the electric box on the outside of my garage. Only had electricity in half of my house.  My husband has to have power for his oxygen machine.  After some discussion with Chad and he said it would run between $1000 and a 1500, but he could only do part of the work today, but it would get all the power back on and he was only going to charge me for the work he had to do today.  It was 27 degreees outside, weekend, and sick husband so I did not have the time to shop prices.  He was gone in 2 hours, but wanted a check for the full $1500-as mentioned before he told me he was going to charge for the part of the work he did today.  I think Chad would make a great used car salesman, but I got ripped and so will you if you use them.  Who do you think is going to pay for all those TV commercials, you are.  DON'T use Milestone.

My ceiling fan light suddently did not work. I had company coming and had heard that Milestone would come out fast. They did. But they charged me $134.75 to replace a loose connection behind the switchplate. This was with the $50 off dispatch fee coupon. More bothersome was the peddling of additional products like the protection plan, etc. I also got a quote on two more projects in the house. The price kept changing, evidently the way to get a break is to sign up for more repair. The sales techniques seems to be to quote more and lower the price the more you add on. Before you know it you are looking at $900 when really, just the fan was broken.  If you have a small job, prepare to pay big. The service rep who came out was friendly the first visit, second visit he pouted and complained that I did not sign up for the other two jobs. I really doubt if I call them again, too much selling and prices too high.

I will never use this company again! My appointment window was 10 am to 1 pm. By 2:30 I called to inquire. The gal had made the appointment for June  and this was August. They charge $69 just to show up and give you an estimate. Their pricing is done by the technician according to level of difficulty and he pulled out a binder with about 5 set prices. I declined  his estimate that was 3 times the amount of another estimate received. I  paid the $69 fee and declined his offer to call his supervisor to get another price. He left me with a colorful, shiny brochure, stickers etc. which I promptly threw in the trash.  The technician was nice though. I hope he finds a better company to work for. I got the impression he was a little embarrassed by the price he had to give me.

I called Milestone to look at a problem with electrical power to part of a house I own. They came out promptly, on a Saturday (I appreciated that), and told me that a line from the box to the house was burned out and must be replaced, AND that I would have to upgrade the whole house to meet current code, or the City of Garland inspectors would not pass the repair. Cost - $4500.00+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said no of course. Today, Sunday, a Garland Power and Light technician came out and replaced the line and serviced the meter at no cost to me. DO NOT let this company talk you into unneeded services! I will be telling everyone I know about this fiasco.

HORRIBLE company; took 4 hrs for the tech to find a minor short in my wall outlet. He was totally incompetent; WORST PART: he does an inspection and says I need $7000 worth of upgrade work. As soon as I posted this review, I heard from an employee of Milestone. Although, she tried to explain the situation she still wasn't able to grasp the severity of an $8000.00 up charge. So, she finally forwarded my email to the General Manager, who contacted me immediately. He, patiently, let me tell my story. He seemed sincerely apologetic and offered to refund my money completely. Which was pretty unbelievable. Besides the money, which is great, what was most important to me was that someone higher up listened to me. These are the things that make a good company better. I think the work Milestone did on my house was probably excellent. It was the experience that was bad, they more than made up for it by responding so graciously once I posted my complaint.

Don't do many of these on-line reviews except for travel, but as one electrical moron to another, you may appreciate the post. We have had three of Milestone's electricians out on two jobs for total of four visits. We had the dreaded Federal Pacific panel replacement and a subsequent discovery of an overloaded circuit (bathroom heater) that had to be split off. I will stipulate that I could have spent less money and have in the past. HOWEVER, the level of professionalism and service we have received at all hours of the day and night is unequaled with ANY business I have encountered. But I'm no full time fool. I work for a company with a small army of electricians, so I took the proposals to our electrical manager. He assured me that, yes, it could be done cheaper, but not necessarily better; the materials used were top of the line, the work laid out was appropriate for the need and he saw no red flags - all in all a reasonable solution. So we proceeded with the $5Kish project (which included the panel replacement and some extra work, you know, while they were up.)

If I were writing this solely on price, then it would have been 4ish stars - but what do I know about electrical costs?  Not much.  But what I do know - and teach in my work- is customer service excellence. The Milestone folks have this down cold. Not one, not a single individual with whom I have dealt was anything less than remarkably, appropriately, and GENUINELY friendly. (Even their on-hold recording is a stroke of brilliance.) We all know phony phriendly, don't we? Not here. I defy you to find the person coming in contact with the public from this company who you wouldn't want to have in your home for dinner. In a world desperate for customer service that emphasizes SERVICE, Milestone is currently at the top of my list.

I just purchased a home built in 1955 and I called Milestone for several electrical issues. Like the commercial says I had switches that didn't switch and lights that didn't light.  The office staff was very nice and service was prompt.  My technician Sam was great and with the help of Chris they brought the house up to code, including replacing one of the old federal breaker boxes, installed by smoke detectors, and lots of other things they worked for a day and a half outside in 100 degree temps to get all that work done.  They were polite, professional, hard working, knowledgeable, just a great joy to work with.  I will be using them again for my other projects.

Milestone came to our new home three years ago to fix three things...two flourescent lights and while here, change the fairly high smoke alarm batteries.  The repairman fixed the first light (which broke again in two days), told us he'd have to come back to exchange out the second light (which he never did and never contacted us), and he successfully changed the batteries.  So...changing the batteries ended up costing us about $300.  We'll never use them again.  I've wanted to write this review for three years now!

Finally things are settled down. These guys don't know irresponsible report would cause so much trouble to their customer.
About two month ago, my tenant found a exposed joint wire in attic in my rental house. This is not a big project, so I asked my tenant to find a electrician and I'll pay for it. My tenant got  a guy from them. After this electrician know this is a rental house, he told my tenant there are many points that do not match city code and not safe, has to be fixed by city rules. Then, he gave out a quote to make the house up to code, the cheapest  basic project is $6,200!
Certainly, with such huge problem of the house. My tenant freaked out. They think I'm illegal to lease out such problematic house, and refuse to pay rent until I fix this.
This is ridiculous! The two following electricians, I found locally, all tell me it's not true if this is a grandfather house, and even I insist to do all these projects in the report, he can do them within $4,000.
Funny thing is, after that my problematic house got 96.5/100 score in city inspection and city is about to come for follow up inspection for the remain 3.5 scores. And before this, I spent hundred of dollars to have electrician come to do nothing but prove the first irresponsible report is not right.
This is not the only trouble, since my tenant is scared and think this house is unsafe, they refuse to pay rent till I make the fix. Then I could only ask my attorney to talk to them and clarify things according to low. This cost me $500.

Guys, sorry for so many boring words, but things are not over! I trusted them second time while the above things is still going on. This was about one month ago. My tenant saw the dryer's outlet is lose, when she tried to push it tight, something shorted and part of the house was out of power. This was Friday afternoon, I called them. Then the electrician came, he asked for $4xx before he start to diagnose! Saying, since multi-room is out of power, it could be multi-circuit problem, and $4xx is for diagnose only, extra part and labor may be charged while fixing. OK, I'll find someone else. Then they charge for $75 for doing nothing! And waste my last chance to find a someone to fix problem before weekend!
The next day, I found two local electrician. They are good, and fix the problem within two hours, and only charged for $3xx for weekend job.

Two bad experience directly waste me $150 on one diagnose and one nothing.
And indirectly waste my attorney fee, two times other electrician fee to correct their words, and broken relation with my tenant, which costs a thousand dollar to make up this and pleasure them with a new water heater.

I saw other reviews here, some got attention from their customer service depart, and they did tried to make up. But there are some lost they can't make up. They are expensive, but they are not matching their price.

terribly expensive for super simple problem to fix...in addition they make you want to sign up for additional coverage warranty and other service you don't need or wont need ever...be aware folks you need electrical work call and ask your local home-depot in the area for contractors and or community website for electrical and or ac work, stay away from these guys unless you want to your pocket book drained or have money to donate to their kids college funds...

This is the second time I have had Milestone to my house to do work.  The house was built in 1984 and I bought it a year ago.  First visit: replaced some switches and fixed some lights that would not turn on, also installed a chandelier that required a brace box (total cost of all that was 600 something).  Then today we had them fix an outside flood light that did not work, fix an outlet, and replace a breaker on the panel (almost 400)  We like the technician a lot; he did excellent work the first time and explained everything he was doing and why.  That's why we called him back to do more work.  Since we have spent a good amount of money with Milestone, I can't say if the price is high or not (I didn't call a competitor for another quote), but I can say the service was professional, the work was well done and the technician is a friendly, trustworthy seeming guy.  All in all, a good experience with Milestone.  Scheduling is prompt.

Milestone Electric -- Home of the $399.50 Flash. You agree to pay their Tech $69. (plus?) to get him to your residence. Even after you explain the symptoms/problem to him he admits he does not know what (exactly) the problem IS so he begins troubleshooting. After about an hour of tightening wires and caulking, the Tech concedes that really confident that anything he's done will actually resolved the problem but, by that time he's already entered the zone of the agreement I've signed so as it's no longer a simple trouble call. He wants payment before he's even replaced the cover over my fuse panel. After he has the check in his hand, the guy tells me that, if I have the trouble again, to call Milestone Electric (They'll fix it in a FLASH!!)...... As it so happened, after I paid the guy, I had to leave the house for about 3 hours. When I returned, the house is HOT. I troubleshoot (only) to find out that they Tech had failed to turn my Air Conditioning back on. I doubt I'll be calling them again.

I had the same experience a lot of other people had on here.  I needed 4 dimmer switches replaced.  I already had the new dimmer switches and just needed them installed.  The serviceman comes out, diagnoses' the problem, which is a $69 dollar fee.  Afterwards he tries to sell me on a service plan and goes on to tell me how great they are.  Basically, everyone that works there is licensed and has been drug tested.  Great, how much?!  $670, for not even an hour job!!  Again, he tells me how qualified the serviceman are.  I'm sorry, but telling me that the employees are licensed and don't do drugs doesn't justify the cost.  Isn't that something we should just expect from a reputable business?  Like the other posts on here, he calls the office to see if they can reduce the price.  He comes back with $479.  I kindly thanked him for his time and showed him the door.   These guys take price gouging to a whole other level!

I've used Milestone twice now and the only reason I don't give them 5 stars is I hate paying a lot of money for simple issues. That said, you are going to pay a chunk for ANY electrician to come to your house so you might as well get a good one.  Their technician Trey was very professional and personable. He explained all my options before I approved any payment for the work. Both times they have come to the house they completed their work in a timely manner and were very courteous about covering their footwear and cleaning up the workspace.  I paid about $330 to have them trouble shoot a circuit upstairs that had caused power interruption to my wife's home office.  Maybe it's something I could have fixed myself but working with electricity is not something I'm comfortable with so I just have to live with paying that kind of money to have someone come out and perform the work.  Trey was very thorough and took his time to check all the avenues of the problem.

No problem with Milestones work they are good electricians You will be satisfied with there work BUT  YOU WILL FEEL LIKE THE YOU JUST GOT ROBBED WHEN YOU FIND OUT YOU COULD HAVE GOT THE SAME WORK DONE FOR OVER HALF. DO YOU HERE ME!!!!!!!!!!  I went to visit my cousin and Milestone was putting in a new service I asked my nephew what it was costing when he said $7400. 00 . I almost choked on my coffee . Didnt you guys get any estimates he said no that his Mother called Milestone because her electric was flickering . She is the kind that gets scared easiley she thought a fire would start and Milestone played on her fears .They started the job in the morning and not because they wanted to give good service  its so the STUPID  customer doesn't wise up and get other estimates. Just lucky I came when I did .We stoped all work called Milestone to negotiate the price, I had gotten estimates for around  LISTEN to this   $2600.  Milestone stopped the work they left and the other company finished that day . It was later inspected by the City Inspector . By the way Milestone came ripped out the olld box in the morning new company finished and turned out didn't even need a new service all that was needed was a main breaker .How about that      I learned a lesson along time ago when a Company advertises like Milestone does they cant afford to give you the best deal there overhead to high so get the idea from the commercial but shop around today it's so easy with the internet . When your talking about  work that requires a City permitt an a City Inspector to sign off, you know that the work is being done to code and the contractors have to be registered with the City. Now its up to you to get the best price the city code dictates how the job is done
