Consistantly disappointed. They will call to see you. But after they come and do nothing based on the AHS policy,  they disappear.  J&K is for just kidding.  My fault.  Signed up for service online. Usually I'll call to make sure I don't get J&K. 0 stars if that was an option. My 1st experience was having them come to check my attic water heaters. Said all was good.  Next day, one of the tanks started leaking.  Ever since then I've tried to avoid like the plague.

Failed to communicate effectively and caused additional damage due to the lapse in time of the repair needed. I have called this company many times this past week trying to find a resolution to the leak in the bathroom. Lisa lied that I would receive a call back. Carol lied when she said she would research the issue and call me back. The last representative I spoke with also stated that they would research the issue and call me back regarding when another technician will comeback out and repair the toilet. NO RESPONSE!!! The home warranty company stated they were under contract to repair the issue, but they never responded, which means that they aren't adhering to the contract requirements set by the warranty company. The home warranty company that is being used referred this company and I wish they hadn't. Horrible response time and extremely unprofessional.

I needed a plumber quick due to a broken valve on my house that turns over to new owners in 3 days.
I called, they gave me the 4 hr window and was there in an hour. Cathy, who answered the phone couldn't have been any nicer. They fixed the problem, I paid, and everyone's happy.
I'll use them as often as necessary.

If you are a customer of American Home Shield do not let these guys near your home.   They don't care about fixing your problem.  They are only interested in collecting their $100 from AHS and moving on.   To avoid replacing our rusted out water heater they concocted a story that a roof leak caused the water heater to fail.  Of course, AHS denied the claim.  There was no roof leak.  The plumber who replaced the WH laughed at their diagnosis and said there was absolutely no evidence of a roof leak.  He even wrote it in his report.  Bottom of the barrel.

They came to my house after I called AH because of a shower stoppage.  Arrive early in the timeline which is always appreciated.  The problem was fixed quickly and the person sent was professional and offered some possible solutions to the problem.  Was very pleased with the service provided!

The worst company I have ever dealt with whether it be plumbing or any other service provider.  Our home insurance assigned them.  I call to schedule and the response is that they haven't had time to look at tickets.  It takes them 6 hours to call.  I call back and am left on hold for 15 minutes.  I call back and they ask me about issue AGAIN.  They put me on hold again.  I wait, wiait, wait.  They come one the phone seamingly talking to each other and hang up.  I call back again letting them know they hung up.  They're response?  You hung up on us which I did not.  BLAME THE CUSTOMER FOR THEIR VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.  I finally get an appointment which is 5 days from service request.  They then call back to say (believe it or not) that they are cancelling since I am not happy with their customer service.  So life must be good for J&K that they can pick and choose their customers that they abuse.  Just not good for the customers.

Great service and have had them 2 times from our American Homeshield warranty.  Very professional and front office secretary is absolutely a sweet heart.  technician was awesome and helpful and not trying to sell us a bunch of extras!!! This is the J&K Plumbing in McKinney Tx

Stay away from them. I have AHS insurance and they sent j&k to repair toilet that was leaking. Instead of fixing the problem the tech claimed that the the toilet was not properly installed... and this is after 15 years of service! :-) they requested my copayment upfront and sign the blank paperwork even before they do evaluation... Not to mention that instead of using ring bell the tech knocked at the door by such a way that I thought someone is trying to destroy it...  Awful and frustrating experience. In short, after all this saga was over I have repaired the toilet by myself using 5 buks spare parts from home depot. Stay away from them by requesting another contractor from insurance company.

These people are CROOKS! I went through American Home Shield Warranty Company to schedule an appointment for a leak and these people called me and asked if they could be there in 15 minutes, to which I said no. I was at work and 15 minutes was not a reasonable amount of time. I told them I could be there in one hour. Well low and behold they sent someone in 15 minutes anyway allegedly and then said that they could not wait for me to arrive. They marked the job as completed and billed the warranty company. Based off of all of the other reviews, this place is a complete and total sham and needs to be reported to the attorney general.

I called in and spoke with an old woman that said her name is Kathy and she is the RUDEST person you will encounter. She is the person who does the scheduling and seems to be a major player in this fraudulent business. Do yourself a favor and RUN far away from this company. They need to be OUT OF BUSINESS and in jail from all of the reports of scamming people!

Home Shield sent them, I wished I would never dealt with them. So bad, we had to get a second opinion and contradicted everything they said on the coverage we could get. Sad there is people like that.

J & K Plumbing is hands-down the worst company I have ever tried to work with!!! They were sent to my home after scheduling a warranty request through American Home Shield. I have had problems with this company in the past though, so I don't know why I was so surprised to have the same type of experience with them again. The time that I am referring to J & K Plumbing denied a claim at my house concerning problems with our water heater. However, the company that was sent to my house by American Home Shield in that instance for a second opinion, told me that my problem was covered under my AHS warranty, and they corrected the issue for me with no problems.

Going back to my current experience. I now have a water leak at my house. This was verified by the technician from J & K Plumbing while he was on the site today after he looked at the main water meter out by the street. However, rather than even coming into the house to try to see where it might be coming from, he left when I told him that I had an unpleasant conversation with Kathy over the phone on my way to the appointment from work. During that conversation with Kathy (J & K's office lady), she told me that the technician had been waiting for 5 minutes at the house, and that if I was only 3-4 minutes away from the house like I told her, that they could wait the extra 3-4 minutes, she guessed. Long story short, as I said, the technician refused to come into the house and left saying that they would call American Home Shield to have a different company come out to our house for the leak. Every time I have dealt with this company they have been rude, impolite, non-courteous, and down-right unprofessional! I am not sure how a company that repeatedly demonstrates this level of unprofessionalism remains in business, but I hope that whoever reads this review will steer clear from this company in the future to avoid any problems like what I have experienced with them.

Beware: Incompetent.

Ronald Parks just came out to check the water heater for the second time in 2 weeks.  The first time he came out, he told me there was no leak and that it must be coming from the roof. After i pointed out that it had not rained in a week and the fact that my roof was in the process of being replaced on that day, he quickly diagnosed the drain plug as the issue and considered it fixed.

I called them back out because there is water in the pan AGAIN.  He just left.  His diagnosis this time is that the water in the pan was due to moisture and not a water heater leak.  After he left, my son and I went into the attic.  We were able to find and record the leak coming from the water heater. This company will do everything it can to help the warranty company avoid paying a claim.  

I called the warranty company and demanded they send someone more competent so that I wouldn't have to do their job for them.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Used this company through AHS and I advise you to choose another company. I was quoted 2 weeks before they could replace my hot water heater. That is not feasible with small children Kathy the owner is extremely rude and wants you to pay in CASH only. Seems pretty fraudulent to me. I have chosen to just pay out of pocket instead of using this shady business. The new company I chose even said one of their plumbers used to work there and they like to scam customers. I wish I could leave 0 stars.

the lady who answers the call is a really rude... realy run from this company. The call and say he will be there is 15 what if your in the shower and missed the call. The left my tenant with cloged sink becuase she was a few minutes late. they go unto next job.  15 min is not enough time the Lardy there is a real witch and they left a bill

They haven't even begun work and this might be the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The dispatcher is extremely rude and told my wife I was a liar for letting her know they'd give 30 minutes notice. The same lady then told her she should drive faster (despite having a 2 year old with her) so her plumber could get to his next job. We are talking about a 5 minute drive for my wife and the lady acts as if we just cost her plumber 3 days of work. Do yourself a favor and find a company that actually cares about their customers.

Horrible service, particularly in their scheduling department (Cathy?).  They are not cooperative, only care about how much they can charge, and make you wait for hours.  They clearly have more business than they need, and I'll never use them again.

Beware this company!!!  Would not give them any stars!  My elderly mother in law was assigned J and K Plumbing from AHS warranty company.  Usually their repair companies are at least average.  This company PRICE GOUGES.  

She called for a leak in one side of her double sink.  Dustin came, inspected the sink and declared that the sprayer hose was loose, he tightened it and said there wasn't a leak!.  My mother in law never used that sprayer!  The next day there was water under the sink again.  She called AHS and asked for J/K to come back.  When they returned, they said it was the garbage disposal that had seized and was leaking.  She had to pay another $75.00 because it was a different area of the sink.  The disposal was replaced.  She asked the installer when he was finished, to check all the pipes for leaks.  He said everything was dry.  Two days later there was alot of water under the sink again!  She called AHS again and had to have the same company come because they were the initial company assigned.  This time the repairman said the joints between the lower pipes which connected both sinks to the one drain were leaking and needed new putty/joint glue to reseal the joint.  After that was done he checked the pipes again, still leaking.  This time it was the basket strainer which unfortunately was not covered under the home warranty.  Now read this!!!They charged her $255.00 to replace the strainer!!!!  Kathy at J and K said it's their flat fee.  They also don't take credit cards so my mother in law had to write a check with barely enough money in her checking account!.

My next complaint letter is to AHS about this company!

Plumber arrived on time. He detected the problem with the garbage disposal within 5 minutes, and had a new disposal installed in the next 10 minutes. You really can't ask for any better service.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I had to do deal with them because of AHS. Not only were they completely inefficient, the woman I spoke to is rude and unhelpful. She laughed when I told her I would write them a bad a review. Please do not waste your time dealing with them. The worst experience I have ever had!!

Well, I was very skeptical due to all the negative feedback.  I had a couple of items that needed repair (kitchen faucet was leaking) due to gaskets apparently failing and a tub that lost its spout and the part that broke off went missing.

The gentleman that showed up was very courteous and punctual; extremely helpful and even provided details on ordering parts from the manufacturer got to work on both items and had them both done in less than 45 minutes.

Looks like I'll be needing to use AHS again on a couple of other things...crossing my fingers on the other service companies.  I will definitely be using them again if the need arises.

The company will only accept cash/check OR you can make your payment to American Home Shield (AHS).

I wish everyone else would have had better luck.

The WORST company I have ever dealt with. They were racist. They did not want to talk to my mother in law that spoke a bit of English. He didn't even want to hear her as she was trying to tell him I'm one minute away. I stopped his van outside and he didn't even want to give me the time of day. I called the office and they said you are in US and need to speak English. If that is a prerequisite, they need to communicate that ahead of time. They don't dare because that will go on there record. WHAT A SHAME!

Similar issues as the two complaints above.  J&K was sent to my house through American Home Shield.  Claimed a safety level on my hot water heater went off for no reason.  Wanted $444 to fix it right then and there.  I refused and the tech got angry.  He demanded my American Home Shield payment, then when I asked questions to clarify the issue tech rushed out the door.  When I called the office to complain about the tech the office told me not to call American Home Shield as they would not help me.  I called American Home Shield, and they were very helpful. They also informed me J&K gave them a quote for $200 more (over $650) to fix the issue.  Agree with other reviewers, avoid J&K Plumbing.  I would give them zero stars if possible.

Please read the ratings for this company and know that there is a trend for a reason.

They are truly the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I had a leak in a pipe and they didn't even dig a hole and determined it to be outside the foundation, which isn't covered by a home warranty company. No big deal, so I called two other plumbers to get quotes and after the first dug a bike, determined the leak was inside the slab. The next plumber concurred. So, I decided to call J&k back which is just a complete hassle trying to schedule anything with them.

They did eventually come back days later as my water continues to leak. He said that it's a gray area and that it's really outside the slab still. Again, didn't visualize the pipe as it had filled back up with water and mud.

I had the first plumber I called myself come back out and make the repair with the hole being 6 inches within the slab, I have no idea how that is gray area.

I would avoid this company at all cost.

This company should get minus stars but I couldn't post a review without at least one.  Because of this company and their lack of follow through I have been without hot water for a week and a half.  I made a request through American Home Shield and they assigned it to J & K Plumbing.  This company determined immediately that they could not do the work because they couldn't get parts for my model.  Instead of telling me this outright, they cancelled the request without notice to me or AHS.  I called back for 4 days trying to get an update and finally called AHS only to learn the ticket had been cancelled the same day it was issued.  I had to start all over with my service request.

Wow seems like a pattern with these clowns. Guess this is why Kathy doesn't care if we file a complaint with American Home warranty or Yelp.
If they are coming out know that they are rude, condescending, and lazy. Blew everything off as either not a big deal or not their problem. Try and call for an update after 5 weeks and get told I am a lying about their time estimate and I should just be patient.

I had called AHS for service call and they sent J&K plumbing to look at my water heater pilot light turning off intermittently and the faucet not swiveling.  The tech came out and checked the water heater and said there was nothing wrong as the pilot light was staying on.  He suggested I keep a record of the wind, the time the pilot light goes off and what gas appliances were being used when the pilot light went off.  As for the faucet I had to order a replacement.  Called AHS again when I got the faucet and placed a service call J&K plumbing scheduled a time and date and no-one showed up.  Very poor service.  I asked AHS to send another company.

AHS sent this company to my house to address my water heater problem. They correctly diagnosed that it needed to be replaced.  My water heaters are in the Attic with a pull down stairs.  It is a 50 gallon tank.  The technician said that he would not be able to replace it with a 50 gallon and I would have to downsize to a 40 gallon ,  This is because the newer heaters will not fit up the attic access.  While he was writing it up , I quickly looked online and found numerous 50 gallon tanks that where the same size as my old tank.  I asked him about that and he said theirs would not fit. I pressed him about getting one that would fit and he finally admitted it is their company policy to not put 50 gallon heaters in attics.  I called 11 plumbers with the dimensions and all 11 said it would be no problem to put a standard 50 gallon in my attic.  I called AHS and told them what I found out and  they called j&k to ask them about my issue.  They lied and said it was because my stairs needed to be bigger and it was an access issue.  With that, AHS sent another contractor out  and who said it was no problem to install.  However since J&K said it was an access issue, they would only do a cash out and give me $655 for the $1200 heater I had to have installed.  J&K plumbing is at your house for 10-15 minutes collecting the $125 service fee and then lie about an access issue because they Know AHS will not count against them and will not turn it over to another company. Pretty good gig 10 minutes for $125 payday. Stay away they are not honest and will cost you a lot of money!

Best ever service we had! Kathy, Jake and Cody really went above and beyond their service. Jake has been very accommodating and explained everything to us. He even went over and beyond in coming back and fixing our problem!

Had to deal with them through my landlord who filed and AHS warranty claim. Took 48 hours to schedule someone just to LOOK at my busted hot water heater.

After the tech looked at the heater and determined it, surprise, it was busted he said it would be 48 hours before AHS determined if they would replace it.

Absolutely absurd...they know it's broken, it needs to be replaced, we are in the middle of a pandemic, and I cannot properly bathe my child.

I guess global viral outbreaks don't bump up priority!!

WATCH OUT! THEY ARE CROOKS! Company was called out here by warranty company and mysteriously there was an invoice left at the door but no one ever rang the door bell or knocked on the door. 3 people home and according to them no one answered. My management company called me in the am stating plumber was outside knocking so I walk out and guess what, no one is there. So since they say no one showed up then they will have to charge me $75 for not answering the door.  If you see from previous reviews they have done this to other customers.

Unfortunately there is no negative or Zero stars on Yelp which is what a company like this deserves.
In short, they are rude, unprofessional, liars and their main approach is to not do the job assigned to them and the once they did were of such inferior quality that we needed to hire a handyman to get them corrected. If your home warranty company assigns this contractor for your job please request them to assign another one.
They don't pick up the call when you call and leaving messages will not get them call you back either.
So please don't get any job done with them.

Jake from J&K Plumbing did an awesome job. He was courteous and respectful. He explained the problems going on and recommended solutions. He fixed the faucet leak and the stoppages we had with ease. I highly recommend Jake.

HORRIBLE - DO NOT USE.  This company showed up via AHS warranty service to address 1) second floor bath leak affecting the first floor ceiling, and 2) address a running toilet.  The first visit resulted in them finding no source of leak affecting the ceiling and blaming it on poor caulking.  The toilet flapper in the toilet tank was replaced.  This is a rental property and I was not available during their visit, so I later physically investigated the caulking problem and found a few hairline cracks - no way they would cause the extent of leak damage I see on the first floor ceiling.  Plus the toilet was continuing to run.  (I'm a union carpenter, licensed Civil Engineer, and have 30 years experience managing large design/construct efforts as well as multimillion SF building maintenance programs - I'm good at assessing and determining appropriate repairs).  I completed the minor caulk repairs, witnessed the toilet running, and called for J&K to return to do their job.  They did show up again and unfortunately I was again not available to attend.  They again found no leaks that could affect the kitchen ceiling, but did comment my repairs to the very minor hairline cracks probably fixed the problem - Not.  They also blamed the grout between the ceramic tile as a potentail problem - again, Not.  The grout is in perfect condition, plus has a cement board underneath it - no way that is causing the leak, and an ignorant statement. The toilet flapper was again replaced, and the toilet continues to run.  The plumber would not speak to me on the phone to discuss the problems and repairs.  I fired them and they won't be back, ever.

Came out twice to fix a shower handle after it fell off during normal use after the first attempt to fix it.  After the second attempt the water pressure was about a 1/4 of the normal flow.  The plumber indicated the issue was due to force not poor plumbing efforts.  American Home Shield choose to deny further adjustments to the normal flow due to this ridiculous excuse.  I would never recommend this service or AHS from these incompetent service calls that still have not gotten us back to the norm.

UPDATE....went to clean up the mess left by the first guy they sent out--found he had punctured ANOTHER water line.  Tried to cover by throwing 8 towels under the sink, hoping we wouldn't notice.  If we would have gone in (bathroom not used very much due to kids now at college,)  we would have eventually found a moldy-smelly MESS!   Trust me, we will be filing every complaint with anyone who'll listen.

Guys came out to fix our toilets through our home warranty company and all they had were lies. Told us our pressure reading was to high about 110. Told us there is nothing they could do. We had the city come out and check the pressure and our pressure was perfect ( reading 70 inside and outside the house).The city told us it would be impossible for it to be that high unless we live like right next to a water tower. This company either has no clue what they are doing or just like to scam people. Looking at all these bad reviews I don't know why they are still in business.

I am writing this review to forewarn other consumers.  J&K Plumbing was contracted by American Home Shield to fix a plumbing issue at my rental home.  They were unable to fix the problem because they needed to order parts and left without restoring water to the home.  The unethical part is they wrote on the job invoice which will be sent to AHS that the part was broken due to force which is not normal wear and tear to set me up to not be covered by my home warranty company.  I had to put my tenants in a hotel for the night and contracted with another plumber to address the issue in the morning.  The other plumber was able to cap off the shower and restored water to the house in 10 minutes.  I reported them to AHS who hopefully will take them off their vendor list.  Spare yourselves the aggravation and research the company that any home warranty company is sending to your home.  If they have really bad reviews, insist that the home warranty company send another company.

AVIOD THIS COMPANY: They are a big American Home Sheild vendor. They talk big like they know about plumbing but really don't. Ended up having to pay for repairs to shower handle because they claimed it was due to abuse. Called the manufacturer who stated the issue we were having was a normal occurance over time. Manfacturer sent us free replacement parts because it was covered under warranty. Yes they don't bother to call in their work to AHS for days. It was 3 days last time and today is the 4th day this time. This is the second issue we have had with this company. Am in the process of filing formal complaints with AHS. Have already added them to our AHS do not dispatch listing. Woman answering the phone is extremly rude.

Unacceptable customer service. Used because AHS warranty. Problem garbage disposal. Was not working at all, fixed said clogged. Soon as used, leaked everywhere. 2nd request. Gave 15 min window. I arrived 18 min home. Found note on door.
Trying call resolve, not interested. Will get back with me. She stated not their policy to wait on customers. Lol.

The person answering the phone is clearly unhappy with her job. Being rude is not the way to represent your business. When I called and cancelled my appointment 2 FULL DAYS before, the person got mad and lectured me that I made scheduling more difficult for her for that day.
I guess she was trying to make me feel bad or guilty for cancelling.
J&K Plumbing was assigned to me by my home warranty company.
That is the only reason I continued business with them.

We had a GREAT experience with Jake from J&K Plumbing!  We had an outside faucet break at a rental house and our sink drain break at our house. We have warranties through AHS so we had to contact them (which I always dread). I was shocked that J&K was willing to work us in same day if we needed. Their receptionist was also very friendly and called us 30 minutes prior to arriving (we didn't even ask for this). The day prior I was given a window of them coming between 8:00-11:00. I got the call that he was close around 8:20 and he was at my house by 8:45 (super nice since it seems every repairman shows up at the end of the window these days and then you are tied up even longer). Jake knew exactly what to do and was friendly and professional. I highly recommend J&K Plumbing.

I know there are some bad reviews on here for them, but I think some of those belong to AHS and really not them. The warranty companies seem to always have issues but this was a great experience for us!

Refrain from using their service. I have AHS Warranty and we had a clogged sewage line with sewage spewing from the tubs, shower stalls, under the toilet bowl - in short a major problem - rendering the house unusable. AHS sent out the request to J & K Plumbing, who sent out a plumbing tech called Deston (I think). This guy made it a point to collect his payment up front, spent no more than 20 minutes trying to snake up through clean-outs, decided that there were 'roots' (?!!) in the pipeline and packed up his stuff and left! He was rude enough when my wife asked him how soon he could get his report back to AHS - he said we could huff and puff as much as we wanted, but AHS would not be able to do anything unless his report was mailed in! He also stopped snaking through the cleanouts stating that it was not worth breaking his $5000 equipment over!! There was nothing I could do since they were contracted through AHS (and I made the mistake of paying him up front). I spoke with AHS about an hour later and they confirmed that no report had been mailed in to them as of then. They also said that if the plumber said that there were roots in the system, that was not covered. I said I was not convinced that there were roots in the system and I wanted a second opinion. They agreed to do that the next day (on an emergency basis) and the plumber who came out (PIPE DOWN SERVICES INC) was the friendliest person ever - even considering that it was a weekend callout. He did not bother to get me to sign anything upfront, neither did he ask for his fees up front. He also took the pains of explaining to me how the whole system works, what he thought was wrong and which section needed cleaning. He was done cleaning the system in under 40 minutes and all systems started working perfectly again. So much for there being 'roots' in the system! I made it a point to complain to AHS about the first plumber's attitude and rudeness and also mentioned to them that I did not want J & K Plumbing to set foot in my house again. Do not use them, they are a scam agency.

They were the worst company to deal with. They don't answer the phone and it took 2 days for them to call for an appointment through our home Warrenty. The tech comes out to look at the problem and finds the issue but not able to fix it. He said he would have to go to office and discuss what to do and it could be a week or 10 days to get back and suggested to get a cash back option. I called a plumber he came same day and fixed it in a couple of hours. DO NOT use this  company.

This is by far the worst plumbing company out there!! Not to mention AHS it seems Cody with J&K thinks he is better than the average Joe and can talk down to customers!! Wrong!! This company is trash do not use them or American Home Shield!! All around crooks and liars!!! Contractors doing business with AHS simply are not good enough to get their own business and rely on a third party company to produce their pay check for them!!!! Cody is a arrogant piss poor owner/employee!!!!

We were referred to J&K Plumbing via our home warranty company. The dispatcher was polite and got us quickly scheduled. Jake, the plumber, left a lasting impression. He was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us valuable tips and education. He also quickly diagnosed our issues and fixed them promptly. Would definitely use them again!

Read Yelp reviews first before contacting these guys. I read a review which said they reported the issue as SERVICE COMPLETE to AHS when the issue isn't fixed yet - THIS IS TRUE and happened to me too. I couldn't believe they would do such a thing when they left me hanging and AHS, being the middle man, is not much of a help either!

THE WORST you can ever imagine! They called me to set up an appointment and I requested a 30 minutes notice. On the day of appointment they called me at 12:50 PM and told me their tech is on his way. At 1:09 PM (19 minutes later) they called me and told me that the tech left my house because no one was there! I said I requested a 30 minutes notice and talked to the owner of the company about the issue but she was rude and disrespectful. She said they cannot keep exact time and they need to pay their plumber by the hour! (REALLY NOW?!), I got home at 1:12 PM (22 minutes after the initial call) and faced a bill for the service request! ***STAY AWAY from this company*** They are liars and only after collecting the service fees. READ OTHER REVIEWS if you don't believe me!
