David Jones is a reputable businessman known for his dedication to improve the construction industry in DFW. He currently serves as the President, Master Electrician and HVAC Lead for ElectricianOnCall Inc.
Mr. Jones was introduced to the construction trade during his Navy Seabee career starting in 1991. During his deployment, he traveled to over 15 countries and earned the reputation of being one of the sharpest electricians among his peers. After his honorable discharge in 1997, Mr. Jones was accepted into the electrical engineering program at Purdue University - Calumet. At Purdue, he earned 2 positions on the college basketball team as the point guard and shooting guard. In 1999, he was offered a unique opportunity to participate in a photonic engineering program and relocated to Dallas, Texas. During his senior year, Mr. Jones decided to shift his focus back to his trade as an Electrician.

This company was fantastic! I called in need of someone immediately and they put me in touch with the gentleman on call. I spoke with him briefly and he was completely transparent about what he thought my project would cost- and was spot on! He showed up in 45 minutes, wore booties so as not to damage my floors, had all necessary supplies, and was in and out.
I HIGHLY recommend them!

Did a wonderful job on all the electrical work we wanted done on our new home. The owner is who does the estimate, walk through AND the work (along with other colleagues depending on how big the job is) which I respect greatly that he was so very hands on and let me tell you David knew what he was doing! He was so straightforward with pricing and recommendations. Normally when you are getting a job done they find other issues that end up costing more money, but David found work that was either not necessary or found cheaper ways to perform the work we needed and we ended up paying less than the original estimate which was a breath of fresh air and made me truly trust what he was telling us and was not money hungry. You can tell he truly values his company and wants to keep you as a client. I will never call anyone else for any electrical needs!
We've used Electrician on Call several times, and each time has been great. On Dave's first visit for a minor electrical issue, we asked him about our reassessed lighting, which constantly had burnt-out bulbs. A previous electrician had quoted over 2 thousand dollars to switch them out to LEDs, but Dave showed us how we could easily do it ourselves. We did, and haven't had to change a bulb since. How many electricians try to save you money?
I only wish I had known earlier that Dave also did HVAC. He fixed our mini-split in the garage (both the power and the refrigerant level), and last week when our main indoor unit went out (and our house was at 90+ degrees), he interrupted his big job in Fort Worth and drove all the way to Dallas to help us out and get it running again.
We are so grateful to Dave and his team. Also a special thanks to Ally who does the scheduling. I can tell she is always super busy but she is consistently very professional and helpful.
Another followup - Dave and Ali saved us again and they are terrific. A couple weeks ago our downstairs AC blew a capacitor and the old (probably original to the house) fuse mechanism was rotting away.
Dave got here in a jiffy and got us in good working order.
They arent just great, they are CONSISTENTLY great.

We had a surge go through our house that fried a wire... once they diagnosed the problem they gave us a price to fix the issue. The gentlemen working were very friendly and explained everything to us. They will be our go to electrician moving forward!
I highly recommend Dave, he is extremely knowledgable and honest. He cares to do a good job and has compassion (does not overcharge). I have used him for any of my electrical needs for many years and have never been disappointed. I have given his name to any of friends and coworkers that needed a referral. I usually don't do that but I believe he is good for it!

We did not know who to call about a couple of electrical problems, so we called Electrician On Call. David, the owner, a former Navy man, came himself with a helper. He was kind, humble and certainly knowledgeable. He identified the two problems we were having. They took care of it. Through a lack of communication on my part, one electrical plug was not changed. He came back twice, including a Saturday, to fix the problem and did not even charge us extra! We are very pleased and have found our electrician.

Great service overall.
I've used them twice now for various things. They quote accurately and clearly and stick to it. The do very high quality work. They communicate well before, during and after the visit. The present themselves well. They clean up after themselves. I don't know about pricing. I don't know enough to say one way or the other. I do know that reliability and quality matter more to me than anything else. Regardless I will continue to use them for all my electrical needs. Go to service provider.
I called this place for an estimate and the lady told me to text to her a picture of the light fixture that I need to have put up. I text her the picture and I have not received the estimate that I had requested.
I can't say enough great things about Electricians on Call. They've done multiple projects for us - including routine A/C maintenance and electrical repair, and I've found them to be exceedingly responsive, trustworthy, and to deliver quality work. I've also referred them extensively to friends, clients, and family - which tells you how much I trust them! They do what they say they're going to do, are thorough and professional, and easy to work with. In a world where service companies often try to gouge female customers, they're transparent, trustworthy, and deliver competitive bids.
And during COVID, they've done a great job being respectful and safe - they showed up in a mask, ensured that we kept the right distance, and generally made us feel safe and allowed us to do the same for them! From the back office to the technicians to the owners, they have wonderful people on staff who do great work.
We're customers for life, and so are those I've referred to them!
Found Electrician on Call through Yelp and gave them a call. They came out and gave me a free estimate a few days later. When the electricians arrived they performed the work exactly as quoted and even though they worked a late to get the job done, they did not charge more than the estimate.
I will be using them again! Great job!
I've used Electrician On Call twice. First to fix a faulty living room ceiling fan, second to revamp my swimming pool's controller box.
Both times the job was done quickly, professionally, with no mess left behind. The swimming pool work was much more involved and required digging about 8 feet of wire, running conduits, installing two switches, hanging up a replacement box with pool timers, and connecting everything back to my existing pool hardware.
The owner is friendly, and the company stands behind their work. Doubt I'll use another company.
We had a complete overhaul of old wiring brought up to code. Ally at the office was fabulous with her follow up and communication. I was kept up to date on progress and they were reliable. The quote took a couple weeks to receive but it was a big job.
Consistently amazing. I've called to handle multiple projects in our home. Some were planned and others were unplanned. They make scheduling easy, they are incredibly responsive and the quality of work is always well beyond my expectations. They are professional, they manage their efforts while respecting our home and they provide excellent communication. I highly recommend.

Woke up to an entry way light that fell when the junction box broke sometime during the night. I checked Yelp and found Electrician on Call. They are highly rated with many reviews.
They just left and I am very happy with their service and the electricians who came.
You will not be disappointed if you hire them. Do yourself a favor and have them do it right the first time. You'll be glad you did!
Brackson and Carlos came by and gave a quick estimate for a Tesla wall charger installation. They were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I decided to move forward with the job on the same day and they went to buy the supplies. Installation took less than an hour and they did an amazing job. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to install a Tesla wall charger!

Great customer service. They had a minor shortcoming on an a new HAVOC system installed but we called and they are going to quickly come back to resolve it. Nothing big. Great company and owner, David.
Had them come out and do a variety of tasks after buying a home. Replaced my main electrical panel. Fixed an issue with a couple of outlets not working right. Hang and wire a new ceiling fan and hang a new chandelier. Install a new outlet for an electric car charger.
They showed up timely, and were personable. Showed me some damage to my electric meter box that required it to also be replaced. The work wasn't perfect--it took a lot longer than I expected and made me miss my evening classes.
However, they did a good job, seem to have done the job right from all I can tell, and came back to fix a minor issue I raised.
I'm pretty satisfied overall, and would hire them again if needed. Thanks for the work.

We've now used Electrician On Call on three separate occasions and each one has gone extremely well. The service was easy, professional, and we're really happy with the results.
Had issue with a GFCI outlet and could not determine the issue. I replaced the GFCI, checked the breaker and even traced the wire to no avail. Dave from EOC came out and diagnosed the problem within minutes; simple wiring GFCI mix-up on my end. Dave explained the problem and was nice enough to reduce the cost without asking. Plus, the owner, Dave, is a Veteran.
Friendly, communicative and understanding. Will definitely use Electrician On Call for future needs.
Great guy; showed up with a mask, which is something that matters these days. Did a perfect job, will be sure to call him again next time. I'll be recommending him to family and friends!

Through my own lack of knowledge about a house that I've never lived in (This is the home of my deceased father.), I had not realized that the GFI in the hallway bath controlled all of the outlets in both bathrooms. Had I realized that, I still would have called EOC because the lights in the master closet went out all at once, at the same time the outlets in the master bath quit working. As far as we can tell, that turned out to be completely coincidental. So it's really my own fault that this turned out to be a $59 service call to change three light bulbs, which we certainly could have done ourselves. All of this is through no fault of EOC, and the gentlemen who came out could not have been nicer. I have highly recommended this company to my brother, and will continue to recommend EOC to anyone who asks.

These guys started off exceeding our expectations but fell considerably short the more drawn out it became. Note this review IS NOT on work performed but rather getting a technician out here to complete the job.
As I stated the initial communication (trip out and giving an estimate) was spot on. After that though I was put out of my own comfort zone in trying to get a response.
* we have a very short window on getting repairs as the house is under contract. Est. was given Monday and clearly on the proposal is written Job needs to be done this week.
* by Thursday night no follow up from phone calls, emails, texts etc. by these guys. I get home from business trip and call @7:30. I'm not on my best game (very weary and a little grumpy) but we agree there was a misunderstanding. No record though of our estimate in the system so I provide details. Im promised A tech will be out 10-noon tomorrow.
* noon today (Friday) a dispatcher calls me. Again no continuity and she wants to know when can we schedule a tech. Another apology, but soonest we can get someone to our home is Monday PM. That isn't acceptable.
Part of their slogan is Fast, Reliable & On Time. I know life has bumps and hiccups but in this instance those aren't acceptable.
Conclusion: shop around. I used these guys because my goto guy (see my Yelp review) was on vacation when we needed the service and the Yelp reviews. My goto Guy's vacation is over and he completed the work in half the time late on a Friday night. That proves you should get multiple quotes.
Carlos and Tony showed up and could not have been more courteous and respectful of my home. They listened to my concerns, gave me prices and options and after making my decision, went right to work. I had a light fixture added to my master bath and I am extremely happy with the work that was done. it exceeded my expectations. This is 3rd time using this company and I will continue to use them. All tech's were good, Carlos may have been the best. Allie (sp) the person taking my call was also very helpful, courteous and pleasant to talk to. She was also very good in keeping me informed of appt. and arrival time.
Have hired EOC twice now and wouldn't use anyone different. Love the estimate and scheduling system structure. The electricians are profoundly professional and it shows in their work. I highly recommend getting the Whole House Surge Protector (Peace of Mind) for your breaker box.

Needed a new outlet installed outdoors. David came out and did a fantastic job of installing the outlet and making sure that everything was set up correctly. Just a great experience overall.
Dave, the owner, came on time, after the office manager, Ali, called ahead to let me know he was on his way. He was masked and wore booties. I had him change out my front porch light and check a light switch that wasn't working.
Dave completed the work in under an hour, and even looked at two outside light fixtures that need to be replaced (he eyeballed the two fixtures and recommended the best options).
I've been their client for three years now, and have always been more than pleased with the work, and the charges are reasonable.
I'll be calling them again to replace the outside fixtures.
I had a great experience with Electrician On Call. I had them install a outlet for my electric car in my garage. They also removed my chandelier and installed two can lights in my dining room. Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They texted me when they were on the way, as well as a reminder the day before. That is great customer service! I feel their prices are good and I will definitely use them again.
My house was damaged by the tornado with the roof torn off over my attic. After dealing with a dishonest electrician trying to rip me off, I called Electrician On Call. They gave me an honest bid and repaired the work in a reasonable time frame. They pulled a permit and subsequently met with the city inspector to get my electricity turned back on. I also used them a few times for small jobs at my previous house, and every time I have been satisfied.
We first used EOC back in 2013, when we bought a house and needed a variety of jobs done (ceiling fans replaced, chandeliers removed, bathroom light fixtures swaped out, exterior lights changed, etc).
They were great!
We also had a random issue with our dishwasher and Dave (the owner) stayed late to help us get it figured out, after a plumber couldn't determine the issue. He is a great guy and hard worker.
Most recently, over the weekend, we used them for another ceiling fan install, and it's the same great crew!
They are prompt, efficient and friendly. Their work is reliable. And, their prices are reasonable too.
As long as we live in Dallas, I will never use another electrician.
Needless to say, Dave and team are AWESOME!

I can't say enough great things about Electrician on Call. First, my appt was scheduled between 1-3. They contacted me at 10:40 and said they had finished the job before mine early and they could arrive earlier if I was available. They arrived at 11:15, on arrival they were wearing masks and foot covers. Second, they are veteran owned and operated. Thirdly, David was very professional, personable and courteous. David identified the problem quickly, switched out a circuit breaker and took the time to reassure me there were no other issues to be concerned about. I would definitely use Electrician on Call again and I would highly recommend them for your electrical needs.
Good customer service, showed up on time and easy scheduling process. Didn't have to wait for several days for someone to come out. Technician explained everything to me.

We recently had a new front door installed. A long screw into the door frame grounded out the lights on our porch. David from Electrician On Call identified the problem, rewired the circuit in the attic without having to open the wall (and create another problem in patching, retexturing and painting it). He also replaced a LED light on the front of our house. He was pleasant, efficient, and responsive to our concerns.
This guy stayed on the phone with me and talked about my aluminum wiring issue, explained to me what my options were and then offered me rough estimates. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Once again, Electricians On Call came out. Last time they installed two ceiling fans; today they installed another one and replaced light bulbs that we couldn't reach. We have always had prompt, friendly service. From now on, they are our go-to electricians. Thank you guys!
Long time customer.
We have used Electrician on Call to replace switches, outlets, GFCI's, replace a ceiling fan on a 20' ceiling, swap over to a LED can light (on the same ceiling), and diagnose / repair a weak circuit.
They have always been prompt, take care of the interior, and get the job done correctly.
Dave is a great HVAC technician. He is down to earth, explained everything I needed to know about AC. He taught me how to maintain an AC . He is honest and never try to make money on the unnecessary. I learned he also does household electrical, I will use his services without a doubt.
So at 11pm he sent me the invoice,
4500$ for a job that 2 other companies quoted me 600-800$.
He didn't even explained or put details on the invoice.
Please don't use them, it's a total ripoff and I will report the BBB.
I would highly recommend Electrician on Call. The team is very communicative with updates, pricing and scheduling. We had a slight delay from a previous job and the owner personally showed up to take care of us. Great price, quality work and overall excellent service. The owener clearly explained everything that needed to be done and even gave us tips for next time.
Update: Since the owner showed how great customer service is and how he made the effort on informing himself on the situation I bring my ratings down to one star. To inform you that it indeed wasn't the light fixture that was currently on because it did the same thing with a different fixture. Though to right away assume the customer is wrong and blame him, that earns him a one star review. If you take a look at other reviews with other complaints, you'll see the same thing. I don't seek free service or some discount, I just want it fixed and your electrician was incapable.
I've got a few things done by this company and I was happy with it. It was until I had explained to the electrician what was going on with my light fixture outside. It would flicker at times and I had the same guy check it twice yet it would still do it. It even flickered in front of the electrician and he had no explanation of how or why it happened since the current showed 120 volts. Nor was he able to offer solutions to me on how to fix the problem. So to this day i have no light fixture up front because it gets annoying to have a bright light flicker at people walking by. I would recommend the company for certain things but as for figuring out a certain issue, i don't believe they're capable of doing so.

Spoke to Dave. Gave me a basic and fair seeming quote over the phone.
Different guy came out to do the job.
I was at work but my wife was there with him. The guy couldn't do part of the job (installation of a Lutron Maestro switch into a wall and canopy fan mod that allows it to work on any fan) and even tried a different switch similar to it, but it would not work regardless, so he just gave us a regular switch instead and installed it properly but didn't fully reassemble the fan (didn't charge for that though either). After we put it back together ourselves, it did work fine though... just didn't have dimmer control or fan speed control from the wall like we had wanted.
Also, the guy did leave a bit of a mess everywhere (stripped cable insulators and wire tips that were clipped off) and I'm pretty sure he left his screwdriver, but he did install all 4 of the GFCI switches without any issues and even upgraded our fan box in the bedroom from plastic to metal, saying that the plastic one was not safe and could come crashing down.
Overall, the price definitely made it worth in our book, but would have really liked the guy to have been a bit more tidy. We will probably use these guys again, but I hope Dave reads this and works on getting his guys being a bit more professional next time.
UPDATE in response to Dave's comments:
1. Regarding the shorted switch - We only discovered that the Lutron Maestro switch was shorted after the electrician told us, and we offered to go buy another, but the electrician said that was not necessary and that he'd try a different but similar switch he had with him. It did not work. And this was provided by the electrician this time. We never touched it. So instead, he installed a standard flip switch with none of the wall-based controls we were wanting. Not complaining about him being able to magically make a shorted switch work, just that he couldn't install anything else (even his own dimmer/fan speed control switch he provided as an alternative) but a standard one.
2. He did properly install everything. Nothing has sparked or shorted since. Never complained about that. Did a great job with the GFCI switches. They look fantastic, and work great. Even having the standard switch is fine. Just was bummed he couldn't get anything else to work besides that.
3. Your guy DID leave a mess. Take a look in the pics here. You'll see his green electrician's screwdriver he just left sitting in our bathroom.
Again, overall, we are satisfied with the work, given that your price was significantly better than the competition's, but I wanted to clarify that my review is accurate.

Dave recently put in my new AC. He has been working with my family for many years for all of our electrical needs. Smart,efficient, friendly and reasonable. I highly recommend this company.
Requested quote to come and install a NEMA 14-50. Originally they said they were full for the week, but then they found time to come out the very next day. The electricians were prompt, professional and friendly. They had materials to do the work same-day and for a reasonable price. I will use them again when I need an electrician.
Loved the entire experience in working with Electrician on call. I had them install a chandelier for me and the entire process was extremely easy and quick! I called on a Monday to get a quote and schedule my service, and they were out to my house on that Friday morning to do the job. The woman who made my appointment was very friendly and helpful - and the electricians that came out were not only on time, but very nice to work with! They completed the job quickly, billed me for the exact amount I was quoted and did a great job hanging my chandelier. I will definitely look to them in the future for other electrical needs!

Family-owned Electrician on Call is the BEST! David Jones, Master Electrician, is honest, knowledgeable, educates and keeps clients informed during service, doesn't recommend replacing things that are in good working order and just need adjustment. Got quotes from big name companies to replace circuit breaker panel; recommended and installed Ecobee to replace ancient thermostat; also services A/C. So glad I chose EOC ... excellent prices, top-notch team and customer care. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Quick response to quote request. Easy to schedule an appointment. The owner Dave was informative and fair. He could have easily done additional breaker exchanges/installation based on my initial request, but he told me how to address it without needing to add more expense. Very responsive and quality work done on time. From light/fan installation to solving an electrical problem in our living room.
We needed two home air-conditioning units replaced. We obtained multiple quotes, and this company came in with a very fair and reasonable offer. Within 48 hours, the installation was complete. They were very helpful in answering all of our questions and were very easy to work with and communicate with. Would recommend them highly to others.
Very rude and would not listen to the problem explained to him. Was convinced he knew what the problem was without evaluating all the facts stated. Upon arrival of the second call, since he didn't repair the issue as instructed on the first service call, he had a piss poor attitude and continued to attempt to speak over me.
Overall terrible experience and do not let this man into your home. He is an extremely negative person and lacks personality and professionalism to be a representative of any in home service.
Dave was excellent to work with. He was patient and walked me through everything that he was going to try to do to accommodate my request, and vocal when he had an idea that would save me some money. Both he and his assistant were friendly and in the end I saved a few hundred compared to another quote by making a few key decisions that simplified the work.

I requested a quote online on a Sunday when the shop was closed and Dave immediately emailed me letting me know what I needed and that he could show up the next day promptly. David was more than professional when he showed up and did the job perfect. I had inquired about services from others who gave me ridiculously high prices just trying to suck money out of me while Dave explained that I did not need a whole panel replacement just a breaker and to tighten some other ones the saved me a lot of money. I would highly recommend you give these guys a call as they do excellent work and I will surely use them again.

This is a tough review to write, and I'm having to grit my teeth to click on just 3 stars. My wife and I had a few smallish projects to do in the house and we decided to get them done with this electric company that we found on Angie's List.
After one false start with trying to contact them (didn't hear back from them, which was fine because we got busy anyways) I tried again and got it touch with Dave, who was easy to work with. We got into a good routine of communicating via email, which was easy for me. For some reason he didn't want to give me an estimate on-site, but he was reasonably prompt about getting it to me by email.
One thing I greatly appreciated was his willingness to suggest cheaper options and to pare back his own work. We wanted an extra wire run through the wall and ceiling so that our ceiling fans could be run on 2 separate switches (one fan one light), but he recommended RF boxes in the wall with buttons. Cheaper, and pretty straightforward - I could easily do the work myself. He was happy to scratch it all from the list and save me a lot of money. We did still have them out to install three recessed lights, however.
A work crew (not Dave) came out to install the lights, and they did a good job. Looks great, materials were top-notch and the finished project is perfect. They were quick and clean, too, covering over furniture while they worked above it.
(updated, see below) Unfortunately, what brings them down and prevents them from becoming my go-to electrician was a billing snafu. They had a coupon on Angie's List for members for 10% off labor on a project. Dave took the coupon and kept saying he would include it, though he kept sending invoices without the discount. Finally, the work crew arrived and didn't seem to know anything about it, so I paid the full amount and contacted Dave about getting a refund for the coupon. No answer. Tried again. No answer. Informed Angie's List about it. It was probably less than a $50 thing, but it's annoying that once he had my money he became non-responsive.
Overall, I don't suppose that I have any qualms about recommending them, but I was disappointed.
UPDATE: Dave, the owner, contacted me back almost immediately after seeing this review and was very apologetic that somehow the communication had been missed. He assured me he never intends to leave a customer disappointed and wants to do anything possible for them. He is refunding the 10% discount and then some, including materials in the discount. I'm very appreciative - updating to a 5-star review since other than that issue everything was great!

We had the master electrician come out to install some new plugs during our kitchen remodel. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and was willing to teach us a few things so that we could update things ourselves in the future. Amazing customer service, very quick and friendly. The electrician was quick, thorough, helpful, and even taught me a few things. 10/10, they are my new #1 go-to for electric work!
I had a bedroom smoke detector that started chirping keeping us up at night. Twelve foot high ceiling prevented me from getting up there but I also knew the smoke detectors we have are 20 years old so I decided to have three I cannot reach replaced along with the chirper. They came the same day I called. Guys knew what they were doing, did it quickly, and I can now sleep.
I will absolutely use Electrician on Call to replace the rest of my smoke detectors since those are old too.
This company has always been extremely responsive to my calls. During winter when my heat stopped working to my most recent need for work on my system. In fact Dave the owner had a family emergency and still came to find out what was going on with my fan/ac. He was able to address what needed to be fixed(he had to get a special part) and returned to install a few days later. He is very fair, reliable and super knowledgeable. This company is highly recommended for your Hvac needs.
Tony (one of the techs that did the work) and his helper did an outstanding job. Much of the work involved running new wires through the hot attic, fishing wires down the walls, and installing new outlets and light switches. But they didn't rush the job. They took their time, and did an outstanding.
The price was soooo much better than any of the other electricians I contacted, and Dave (the owner) even applied the veteran discount after the fact.
They were courteous, wore foot coverings to keep our floor clean, and cleaned up every bit of trash.

Reasonable fees for same day service call in the afternoon after speaking with Ally. Julio(I think) and Tony arrived promptly on time as schedule. They were very experienced and professional. Explained in details the work and also confirm my electrical circuit was hot before they left. Overall satisfied for same day server. Also that's the biggest van I've ever seen :)
I needed them to connect the 10/2 wire to the 220v/40 amp breaker in my breaker box. I ran 10/2 wire but was informed it's only rated for 30 amp and it should be 8/2 wire. Looks like I need to rerun the wires and get it reconnected again.
Their reviews looked good...their website looked good...too bad you can never reach anyone to actually schedule a commercial appointment! Filled out online quote form - someone called 3 days later and left a message (Allie.) I've since called TWICE and left a message...still nothing. I will move on to the next commercial company.
Great service! Needed to add an exterior outlet and Electrician On Call got the job done.

Great service. I've used them twice before. Problem and Job are fully explained when he arrives. Repair was quick. They get a lot of details when the appointment is made so, for me, Dave had all the material. Highly recommend them
We are first time home owners and had a long list from our inspection report. Electrician On Call was quick to respond (in fact the only ones able to schedule us right away). They were wonderful at communicating from beginning to end of services. The electrician wore shoe coverings in our home as we went through our list together. He was informative and even told us things that we didn't need to worry about! I got an electronic estimate and was able to pay online once services were complete. We'll be using their services for our annual tune ups from now on!
We are extremely impressed with this company and will be using them exclusively for our A/C and electric needs from now on! From the first point of communication through the service, everyone was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They fixed our A/C quickly and showed us some pointers on how to identify problems in the future. They are also very fair in pricing and are not in the business of nickeling and diming you. I can't recommend them highly enough!
What an excellent on-call electric company for the North DFW area. I called the morning of, and they dispatched two techs the SAME DAY! We had a quick doorbell job that needed addressed, prior to us moving, and they easily completed the work. I would highly recommend! Payment forms accepted: Cash, card, check.

The reservation was very simple and the receptionist let me know the price and hourly fee. She also ask me to send her the light fixtures product descriptions and height of the ceiling and send me a price quote. The electrician couldn't make it on the day I reserved. But they let me know two hours in advance that they are running late and offered $49 discount for rescheduling or late compensation. We moved the appointment to July 5th and they came on time. I bought a fancy 8 bulbs glass pendent light for dinning room. It required professional installation. Also the painter accidentally patched the opening for ceiling lights when they painted my ceiling. The electrician went to attic and found the original wire, then he drill a new hole for wire to reach to kitchen. The kitchen light is also a light fixture with three glass pendants and bulbs. The electrician finished everything in 2.5 hours as they quoted. I am very pleased with their skills and timely service. I would recommend them to all my friends.
Recently I moved into a new home in Desoto, Texas. My home inspector recommended I contact an electrician because of some concerns he had about an outdated panel and no GFCI's.
I chose Electricians On Call because of the super reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed. John was very professional, courteous and listened to my concerns. He went about his business checking the items I had listed, then gave me his recommendations. I agreed and he completed all of the work in a reasonable timeframe.
What I liked about John is that he educated me on some things I needed to know (I confirmed on Google later) and pointed out a potential issue that OnCor Electric had to come out and repair. He was a great electrician and a teacher too since this is my first home.
I am working on a wish list of items for future electrical work, additional outlets and switches, etc.

Electrician on Call is absolutely THE BEST. I first used them in May 2018, when I needed GFCI's installed on all circuits, and new switches and dimmers installed in various outlets in my new place. The company had good reviews, so I decided to give them a try. They were TERRIFIC. Showed up when they said they would, and did everything so well, and for a reasonable price. This month I had EOC come back to replace a couple of pendant lights in my kitchen. Again, on time, tidy work, reasonable price. I'll be using EOC to complete all of the electrical work that I need done in my new place. I highly recommend this company. You won't find a better one.

I found the electrician to be personable and very knowledgeable which was a relief because I had little understanding of what was needed to complete my vision. I was sooo thankful that Dave answered my call at 9pm on a Wednesday night. He was able to grab the part I needed from a photo I texted him of my breaker that needed replaced and was out to change it and get my power back on all within 1.5 hrs of getting my call, and at a very reasonable price. I had called another electrician requesting emergency service that night who was highly rated and didn't hear back until the next day to schedule a time for them to come check out the problem. Sooooo glad I found Electricians on call on Google and got in touch with Dave!! He was awesome!
We used this company last year to install light fixtures inside and outside our home. Two electricians came out and did excellent work for a very reasonable price. We called the company again this week as we realized when we got home from vacation that something had tripped the electric outlets in our master bathroom. Allie tried to talk us through it over the phone, but when we couldn't figure it out the owner himself actually came out to help us with the situation which was a quick fix of locating the GCFI main switch in our garage. The were prompt with quotes and responses. The calling center called me when they were on the way which was accurate in time. The guys were friendly and fast with the job. The only downfall would be the auto text messages that are sent consent. With a reminder, job details and a picture of the service person that would be coming. Which constantly changed and prompted me to call.
I will use them again though if I ever need a electrician again
I would recommend this company. I called for appointment two hours later, they were at my house fixing problem. Electrician was friendly and explained everything. Also courtesy to all my questions.

Electrician on Call is great. They do what they say they are going to do and check with you every step of the way to make sure your are in agreement with their actions.

Electrician on Call is a great company. I hired them when I first moved into my house 1-1/2 years ago to change the height of my Chandelier and also install a better quality door bell.
This week I hired them to come in and install an outlet in my attic. Dave did the work and he did it cleanly and fast. I will call these guys amd refer them in a heart beat!
Timothy and Daniel were so quick and nice! They arrived on time. Replaced two 2-prong outlets to 3-prong, but they also figured out what this one switch near our door was for. They both were also great conversationalists. Will be calling them for more electrical issues/additions in the future.
I was very pleased with Electrician On Call. They were fast to respond, very friendly, gave me 2 confirmations of my appointment time, and Dave (the owner) showed up on time. He finished the job quickly and the charge for the work was fair. I will be sure to use them again.

Just had my third visit from Electrician on call and I have been so pleased with the service. It's affordable and the technicians were personable each time - they even remembered my house and the work they did. Dave the owner came out on one job and he was able to save me some money by recommending a better way to do something than another company had suggested a year or two before. I've been happy with the work and I appreciate how easy it was to set an appointment. Other places I called always had answering machines but every time a real person answers so you can make an appointment immediately. It's taken me a long time to find a reliable company to trust and probably the first time I've ever used one three times in a row. So I'm sold on them and will return. Highly recommend.
I recently needed help from Electricians On Call (ETC) and my experience was absolutely fantastic. Overall, ETC for me is synonymous with service, value, and quality. I think that these attributes are rarely mentioned in the same sentence, but ETC has managed to strike the right balance to offer customers the five star experience that so many have consistently rated here on yelp.
What I needed help with:
I had taken down a ceiling fan but the wiring in the ceiling was an absolute mess. I couldn't figure out to connect the wiring despite having installed already a dozen lights. After numerous futile attempts, I finally gave up and decided I needed help.
What makes ETC great:
1. Dedication to customer service :
a. When I called ETC, Dave (the owner) picked up the phone (despite being late in the evening) he tried to help me diagnose and solve the problem over the phone to help me avoid the cost for him to come out. When I ultimately couldn't figure it out, he made sure that he could make it out the next day
b. I actually needed ETC's help twice. After Dave figured out and resolved my problem, I accidentally caused another issue. Same thing happened again. He tried to help me out over the phone, and when all else failed, he came late in the evening because I didn't have power to half my house. Just incredible.
2. High bar for quality work :
a. It is evident that ETC has a ton of experience. After just 15 minutes, Dave completely diagnosed and solved my wiring problem. It was such a relief. However, even after solving my wiring crisis, Dave didn't just leave me with the mess of wires hanging from the ceiling. He spent time to clean up the wires to make it clean and easy for me to access afterwards. I thought that was extremely considerate because it did make hanging the ceiling fixture afterwards so much easier.
b. In the second incident, when Dave came out, he similarly solved my problem in less than 10 minutes. I consider myself a bit handy so it was quite a relief when he figured it out quickly and helped restore power to our house.
3. Value : Despite ETC's impeccable reputation and seemingly high demand for their services, they seem to maintain very fair and reasonable pricing. I would have expected a company that seems so buttoned up and high quality would charge more than a no-name competitor. I had called around and ultimately decided that the sterling reviews and reasonable offering made the choice a no-brainer. After my ETC experience, my thoughts were completely validated.
I hope that I never have another issue in the future, but definitely if I ever have any electrical needs, ETC will be my first and only call.
Two thing that are my favorite part about any business, the owner goes into the field and doesn't try to offer services or parts I don't need. Dave came out, answered all my questions, and fixed my electrical problem the most efficient way possible. I would recommend this business!

I've read great reviews about Electrician On Call therefore I wanted to use their service. However, I've left a voicemail with no response. A week later on April 30, I sent an email requesting service but still no response. The email confirmation stated they would respond by 6pm the same day. I'm usually not the type to be so persistent but I trusted that this is a reputable business based on the reviews. Lord knows how hard it is to find a good electrician. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that there was miscommunication with scheduling from their end.
Update to my 5/7/15 review:
Dave personally called me and apologized for the scheduling miscommunication. He came out the next day and fixed my electrical issues. Despite his busy schedule, he wanted to rectify the issue and definitely has earned respect from me. Along with being knowledgeable, he is so nice and professional. All the great reviews about Electrician on Call was spot on. Will definitely be calling Dave for future issues!! Thanks Dave!!

Dave is awesome!!!
7:30pm on a Friday, and he was here in less than an hour. The dryer breaker wouldn't stay on and the fridge breaker shot sparks out of the box and tripped off instantly when turned on. Dave fixed the problem in less than an hour, was polite friendly and affordable (I would have happily paid twice what he charged!).
This will be my first call in the future for anything electrical that I need! Thanks, Dave.

Disappointing.
I called the Dallas office to schedule an outdoor light replacement at my home. The scheduling/response time to the call wasn't a problem.
The first time around, they failed to call me prior to the appointment and we missed the technician when they were scheduled. Not a problem. We reschedule for a week later.
Second time (today), I get a call saying the technician will be here from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm. Great, I'll hang out. Well, it's 3:37 pm at the time of this review, and no one had showed. No one picks up on their main office line, and I have to get to a 4:00 pm appointment across town.
Would be nice if the reviews here reflected my personal experience, but so far it's meh. I'll contact someone else for the work.

This company is by far The Best!! Easy to schedule, FAST response time, excellent electrical work, great advice, friendly, personable and... they wear boot covers in my house (thanks Dave!) All for a very reasonable price. We have found our electrical company!
I called a few companies and the Electrician On Call was the only service that came out on Saturday. The woman that answered the phone was very helpful and made my appointment with ease and guided me through the process. They called me 20mins before they arrived. They arrived on time and fixed my outdoor light in 30 mins. Dave was very knowledgeable and professional. The repair work was reasonable and affordable. We will be calling the Electrician On Call for our future needs.

Hired Dave and his crew again in March to run 5 new circuits for the bedrooms and pool house. Then installed new outlets in the kitchen island, all for much less than other electricians were quoting. I know with Dave and his team it is done right, without trying to use scam and scare tactics to get you to buy things you don't need. Dave and his crew treat you the way they would want to be treated honestly and fairly. And if there is an issue he will tell you and make the recommendation and tell truthfully and honestly is it something you really need or is it a nice to have. I will not call anyone else. Electrician on Call is my go to source for reliable and dependable work and a fair and honest price.

David is great at his job. Very professional and trustworthy. No guesswork here - they will know exactly what the issue is and fix it. I had my panel replaced - he did a great job.
Very friendly, helpful response to my call. I was able to schedule a Saturday repair time. They called twice to let me know their status and when they would arrive. Easily installed a new light and fan switch. I asked about replacing some of my kitchen lights and he gave me some really good suggestions. I will definitely call them again.

David Jones, the boss, is the best master electrician as well as the best person! He does great work and he is also patient with folks like me that know very little about electricity. He has been helping our twelve unit condominium complex with solving electrical problems for the last ten years. He also made great repairs on the two units I own. Since our complex is over thirty years old we have our share of electrical issues. I actually look forward to seeing him come out to help us because I know he is going to fix things right. I wish all the contractors we deal with were as skilled, knowledgeable, fair and patient as Dave.

Great company. We've had them come out several times. Their rates are reasonable and the work is completed quickly and quality! For example, my living room is an open 2 story vaulted ceiling and I purchased a large Sputnik chandelier. The previous company we had worked with quoted is 800, Electricians on call barely put a dent in my pocket and completed the work in less than 20 minutes and cleaned up their mess. As a matter of fact, I accidentally called the previous company we had worked with before to install more fixtures and once my BF told me I immediately canceled our appointment to call this company instead. Love them!!! As someone who is constantly doing renovations, it's great to rely on a company without the worry of paying high rates after buying your dream costly fixtures.
They were very quick to respond to my request for a quote and they were by far the cheapest. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job in a timely manner, all while not changing the quoted amount. Very satisfied!!

I called the company the early part of last week for an estimate to install a chandelier. They indicated that they would get back to me n 24 hours with the cost. 2 days later I called them and they told me that they were still working on it would be tomorrow. I called back the next day and they said they were still working on it and it would be tomorrow. On Thursday I called twice and they stopped picking up my phone calls (perhaps the person answering the phone was inundated with calls, who knows). I left a voicemail.
Thursday afternoon I was told the estimate would be ready by the end of the day. Friday came and went with no call and no estimate. Finally on Monday morning I called and politely asked for the estimate and was told they it was not ready and they would get to it as soon as an electrician was available.
I guess business is good with all of these good reviews and so they no longer need to provide their customers with timely (less than 7 days) estimates much less decent customer service. The person answering the phone and scheduling electricians could also do a better job with her customer service skills.
In my opinion this company used to be great with a lot of great reviews but now it may be getting too big to handle customers properly now that they are growing and getting bigger. That is just my guess based on not getting any proper responses or a quote for chandelier install for almost 7 days.
Dave was very helpful and responds very fast. His quotes are very reasonable compared to others. They did a fantastic job.

Pros of working with electricians on call:
The electrical work was done well and within $20 of what I was quoted.
The electricians arrived on time.
Cons of working with electricians on call:
Their scheduling system is worthless. They had to call me to ask when my appt was because the system crapped out.
They tried to charge me for a permit that the city provides for free. However, ultimately the fee was 'waived'.
The biggest con was that a crack was left in the ceiling of a secondary bedroom. It went unnoticed for two weeks because like previously stated, secondary bedroom. When I called electricians on call to talk about it, I was told they would send some people out to take a look. They came out, looked and decided they didn't do that.
Learn from my mistake, walk through all the areas the electricians were in BEFORE they leave.

Electrician On Call is awesome! They replaced several outlets in my kitchen during a remodel. They are always prompt, professional, and fair on their prices. I have used them several times and will continue to call them for my electrical needs.
My heat wasn't working due to a faulty breaker. I had called a different electrician who quoted me over $1000 to replace the entire panel. They were responsive and were able to come the same day due to a cancellation. He identified the issue (microwave had a short in it) so it wasn't the fuse. They only charged me the trip fee of $49
Very professional on the phone and in person! Excellent customer service which is hard to find these days. The owner personally talked to me about everything and answered my call at 11:30 PM when I could not get my power working. Turns out it was my error and an easy fix once I spoke to him. I will definitely use him in the future for any jobs I need done. Verify what you want done and put it in writing, there was a small mix up about the voltage and amps that I needed, but Dave took care of me. Thanks, Dave and team!

I've actually had them out twice. There were no issues and they did their work as expected. But the reason why I'm giving them a 3 star review instead of a 5 star review is due to some of the billing games they seem to play. Two examples .
1. Their website offers discounts on service but only if you mention the 10% discount up front at time of booking the service call. Now why would that be necessary? Think about it. The only reason I can think of is so they can make up for it by having their technicians up charge 10% when writing up the bill to make up for it. Do I have proof of that? No I don't. But why else would that be necessary? Im sure they can come up good sounding excuses as to why that would be necessary but most coupons that companies or restraunts publish do not require notification up front before you get the bill. This company could do the same if they wanted to, but they don't. The only way the customer can ever know they are getting a true discount is if the customer isn't required to divulge the use of a discount coupon prior to getting billed. This is what I find a bit sleezy about this company. It reminds me of the way grocery stores forced customers to use their discount cards by insulting the public's intelligence by claiming we are getting true discounts on their groceries when we all know that all the grocery stores did was raise the price of their products prior to the coupon programs such that by using the discount card simply got you the product at its real original old price .
2. I make it a habit to ask the minimum service fee for a company to come out and provide an estimate. I used this company because their trip fee was reasonable (I consider reasonable which at $35 is very reasonable.) We'll, on their second time out, I never did ask the service desk scheduler about their minimum trip charge cause I already knew it from the first time, but that being said , this was a separate and independent service call from the first one, so I thought I would go ahead and play it safe by confirming their minimum trip charge to provide me an estimate. They told me $155 this time . I was shocked so I had to call in to their service desk to get clarification cause if not, these guys were going to potentially charge me $155 just for a estimate. The lady at the service desk confirms it is only $35 and when I aks her why her workers are tellling me differently , she says the $155 min trip charge would only apply if the workers were to have to spend time using their equipment tools in order to diagnose the problem in order to get an estimate. When I asked the workers why the heck they are quoting me only the $155 estimate without mentioning at all about the $35 trip charge option , they became very extremely uncomfortable in an embarrassed way. They had no explanation and did not give me a direct answer . When I then suggested to them that it appeared their company would have charged me $155 trip charge had I not called HQ about it , not only did they not counter the suggestion , it totally looked like they were embarrassed and their body language was one of heads sunk, a somber look of I'm sorry. They told me some thing like we only work here and do what we are told. This looks really bad IMHO . I kind of felt sorry for the guys, they seemed like good hearted guys who didn't like it any more than I did.
So in a nutshell , I think they are good company in terms of their service and their know how, and I would hire them again, but you might want to confirm your minimum trip charge when the workers arrive if you might be only needing a second estimate or a minor repair which might otherwise only cost less than $155 .
They were phenomenal! Quick to reply and schedule. Jordan was courteous, knowledgeable, and made the process super easy! They grounded several outlets, and installed the appropriate outlets for our range, dryer, and outdoor string lights. But most importantly, they installed an outlet above the fireplace which was NOT easy. I will definitely hire them again, when needed.

Saved the day! I'm so thankful I found Electrician on Call. My AC was stolen and after over a week of going through contractors to find someone to install a new AC I found out that I needed to have my electrical wiring re-done in order for my new AC to work. David came out the same day to give me a quote, and he fit me into his busy schedule. He sent his guys out the next day just as he said he would.
Obdulio and Tony arrived at 7pm and worked until just before 10pm so that I would be all set up for the next day when the AC techs were expected to arrive. They were very professional and also very thoughtful about where they put the wiring on the outside of my house.
Obdulio was so caring and even took the time to show us everything on our breaker box. He even disconnected the wiring from the previous AC unit that went to the breaker box just as a safety precaution, and noticed that our dishwasher breaker was flipped off and asked us if we knew about it. They had me all ready to go for the next morning when the AC technicians were scheduled to arrive and I couldn't be more pleased. AC guys arrived and had no problems at all installing the AC unit with the new electrical wiring.
They were outstanding and went above and beyond. If I ever need any electrical work again I will definitely use Electrician on Call and I would highly recommend them.
Called this business and the phone went straight to voicemail. The voicemail says calls will be answered in two hours. No return call. Called again the next day and left another message. Still no return call. Not a way to do business.

This company was truly on point. I called on a Saturday, thinking I was going to have to set an appointment on Monday. I told the lady on the phone what I was needing and she was very informative and helpful!! I called at 2 o'clock I had a technician at my house at 2:45. The technician knew exactly what he was doing and very professional and knowledgeable.

They worked at an hourly rate, very reasonable one for two guys. they were fast, and respectful. They installed a couple exterior lights, a dimmer switch, and some GFCI's. I'll definitely be calling them back out for another job.
We just moved from out of state and had some questions about the house we just purchased. Spoke with Dave at Electrician On Call. I am very appreciative of the time that he spent with me answering my questions and his thoughtful advice. We might wait on some of the upgrades that we discussed, but the prices that he quoted are reasonable after comparing with another provider.
Dave showed up within the time frame expected and we went over what needed repair/replacement. After some conversation and understanding of the difference between the amount quoted and actual costs we were able to come to agreement. Dave then got to work right away and helped me understand the identification of the wires as he was fixing the switches. He did a great job in a short period of time and showed dedication in what he was doing. I would use them again.
I had a couple light fixtures and a fan taken down along with a chandelier and new light fixture put up.
The two gentlemen that came were very polite and knowledgeable. One spoke English well and the helper did not, but that did not matter. They were friendly, arrived early and did excellent work. They laid out a sheet to make sure they didn't make a mess. With the chandelier, they made sure they got the height correct. My dimmer was busted, so they swapped out the dimmer for a light switch for me too. Excellent service. I would definitely use them again. It is hard to find people in Dallas that are prompt and do have good service. I am a very hard to please customer and these guys were excellent!
I had to pig tailed my home. Electrician on call was on time, the cheapest option and also the safest. They were among the few electrician company who used one of the pig tailing method recommended by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. I can only recommend Electrician on Call.

Made an appointment on Sunday via email for Tuesday morning for a flickering light in the bedroom. Dave came over, observed the issue, and figured out the issue quickly. He replaced a bad breaker with a part he had in his truck, and resolved the issue entirely.
He also gave me some excellent (and honest) money-saving advice to call Oncor first before calling an electrician about flickering lights, just in case it was a problem on the utility end. His rate was very reasonable, and he was clearly about establishing a relationship with customers, rather than taking as much money as he could in the short-term.

I have used multiple electricians over the past 30 years and have not ever met one that is as professional as these guys. They pre-quoted the job online and showed up exactly on time. I needed an electrical inspection prior to closing on my condo and a friend had seen this company on Angie's List. I had a tight deadline on getting the inspection completed and David did not let me down - inspection took place in 2 days. He was very honest on what HAD to be repaired (very little) and gave me an estimate for my electrical upgrade wish list - very reasonable price! I wasn't charged for the inspection visit (!!!) so I knew I would be calling him after closing to initiate the work. One of his employees came out to do the actual work and did a terrific job. At the last minute I asked for a chain pull light to be converted to a switch and it was done in the same visit.
I have a couple of other electrical projects that I would like to have done in the future and Electrician On Call will get my business!
Called Dave about a maddening intermittent electrical problem where parts of the house would lose power for varying amounts of time. Dave came over late in the day and found it was an arcing lug in the outdoor subpanel. He tightened the lug and didn't even bill me. Which was a smart move on his part, because now me, my house and my four SFR rental properties have a go-to electrician!! :)

This is my second time using Electrician on Call...this time it was to replace hard wired smoke alarms... They came exactly when they said they would which is so important to me. They also provide hard wired smoke alarms which was a great service for me. I feel great knowing our smoke alarms are brand new and working properly!

We needed 2 ceiling fans installed, I was going to do it but when I took one of the old fans down the box didn't look right so I called these guys.
David the owner actually came out to my house to do the work and explained what was going on. He fixed that box and installed both fans. He was about to go get his shopvac and get up the small amount of insulation that fell on the floor (I like to vacuum so I took care of that for him).
We all read these reviews to hopefully get the best service we can. I will say I recommend David and his company without question.
Very honest, great prices and if David shows up, put on some blues for him.
We were overall very pleased with Electrician on Call and would not hesitate to use the company again for any electric work in the house. Highly recommend Dave and his company.
Our main circuit breaker stopped functioning on a Saturday evening and we lost power to the entire house. We called Electrician On Call and talked to Dave, the owner. Dave quickly assessed the situation over the phone and had us text some pictures so his diagnosis could be confirmed before we had him come out. So nice to have someone tell you whether or not he'll be able to help you BEFORE coming out and charging for a visit no matter what.
Once he saw the photos, he called us back with a diagnostic, a solution, price quote and time it would take to get the job done. We agreed to proceed, and he was at our house in less than 60 mins. He worked efficiently and professionally, explained why the main breaker had stopped working and how the panel in general was set up so we understood what he was doing.
Once power was restored, he stayed for another 15 minutes to make sure the new breaker was working properly and that electricity was full restored even when we stressed the system by turning up the amps (aka running the AC, turning on lights, starting a load of laundry all concurrently). We took this time to ask him several questions on dimmers, fans and other electric projects we might undertake in the future. He was knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions.
We are from NYC and are used to good, fast service; however, Dave was not only fast and efficient but also had a nice attitude and delivered great value for the service rendered (particularly given the tight time line of wanting a fix at 7pm on a weekend).

After calling oncor: they asked me to look at the smart meter for codes. They determined that it wasn't the meter and it wasn't their problem. So I called Dave at electricians on call. He asked me to send him pics of my electric panel box and outside meter. He determined that it was oncor's problem and not inside the house. I called them back and they had a technician at the house within the hour. They tested the smart meter and determined it was a bad meter. Dave saved me lots of money by troubleshooting my issue over the phone. Didn't cost me anything and got the meter replaced. I will use Dave in future for any electricity problems.

Overall a solid experience with four issues (faulty light switch, exterior 24' porch light fixture and bulb replacement, ballast replacement, and indoor light fixture replacement). Friendly team of two efficiently handled everything. The only shortfall was probably brought on by the number of issues I listed on the initial call. An email was sent to confirm the work and appointment time. This email did not include the porch light. I called to have this added and had to leave a message. With the appointment being the next day, I was not able to update the work to be done. Upon arrival the ladder needed to reach the porch light was not on the truck and they needed to go back to get it.
I have used Electrician on Call twice: once to move/add electrical outlets, once to repair outdoor landscape lighting and to move a chandelier. I was pleased with the work and the price both times. Below are some more details.
Moving outlets:
Dave came out and quoted the job. He sent one of his technicians to do the work and the technician showed up as scheduled. The job ended up taking three hours instead of the one hour Dave was hoping. They didn't even try to charge me for the additional two hours.
Outdoor Lighting and Chandelier move:
I did not get a quote ahead of the project. I scheduled the work to be done understanding it was an hourly rate. I scheduled the work to be done at the end of a weekday but Electricians on Call had to reschedule because they were tied up on previously scheduled projects. On the second scheduled date, the electricians were slightly behind schedule and I asked to reschedule the work.
As a newer homeowner with several projects a year which requires professional services, I have learned that these sorts of things happen. What makes this experience different is the way Dave (the owner) handles these situations. I received a call from him directly, apologizing for having to reschedule. He also insisted that the labor be discounted.
I appreciate the customer service I received and will use them again.
Last month Dave finally got in touch with me. He apologized and mentioned he was having issues with scheduling and making appointments, which are now resolved. The electricians came over promptly (even Dave himself came over) and the issue was fixed. I am glad to see that Dave has addressed the issues and will be using him for anything electrical. Thanks Dave!
Dave came out and after looking things over decided there was nothing I needed. I called him because my air conditioning company said I needed a new breaker box. He could have easily told me I needed some parts and labor around $200 and I wouldn't have known any better. Dave is the only electrician you need, highly recommended.
I had new circuits installed, a couple problem circuits diagnosed and repaired, new lights & outlets installed where before there were none. Furthermore, Electrician On Call did a favor for me that they did not need to do - just being a good neighbor and helping me out with a resource such that I could complete some of the work that I personally was doing on my home renovation.
My project is a significant home renovation. I hired a General Contractor, Lee's Tile, to lead the renovation on my kitchen and baths. The quote I received from Lee's Tile for the electrical work (primarily focused on kitchen lighting) was exorbitant in my opinion so I elected to manage all the electrical portion myself. I came to Angie's list to look for a well reviewed electrician and decided to call Electrician on Call (EOC). There was a little misunderstanding in the beginning as to the work I needed done, but I do not blame EOC for that - There was a lot of random work that was being uncovered as the renovation progressed. Thus, I contacted EOC and told them that I wanted to review the work plan again, and from that point forward everything worked like a charm. EOC went above and beyond what I expected. EOC put in the hours, was flexible on schedule, very friendly, professional, they were easy to work with, they were fair on costs, and the results met or surpassed my expectations.
Electrician on Call is going to be my 'go-to' Electrician from now on so I am very happy to leave them an exceptional rating here and elsewhere.

Dave was awesome! He came out right when he was scheduled and got me fixed up at less than quoted. He even diagnosed a plug issue that I was having that 2 other electricians claimed that there was no issue! He earned a magnet on my fridge. I work in property management and this guy is GOLD!
I will recommend this company to everyone I know. On a Saturday, we called and got same day service for non emergency installs of 5 new light fixtures and 4 outlet replacements. The electrician sent out was courteous and organized. He really knew what he was doing and he did it much faster than I expected. We even had a few unexpected add ons and he was a trooper about it. What I liked best is that there were no weekend price hikes.

We have used Electrician On Call three times now for repair jobs at our house. The first time, Dave was able to repair a light switch that we had not been able to use since the day we moved into our house, in under an hour! Electrician On Call Has always arrived promptly, treated us respectfully, repaired the problems, and charged us fairly. Dave has always taken the time to explain whatever is going on so that I can understand, and he's never talked down to me or tried to up sell me on anything. He is the owner of the company and it's obvious that he makes customer service a priority for his staff. I called a few minutes before office hours today and got their voice mail but didn't leave a message since it was so early. I had a return call back within five minutes, apologizing for them missing my call! I have no idea how they compare price-wise to their competition, but I have always felt like we were fairly charged for the work that was completed. I wouldn't use anyone else for electrical work, and if I could rate them higher than five stars, I would!!

Tradesmen are so busy these days, it is difficult to get them to commit to times and stick to them. Dave and his guys did a very good job for me, tackling a number of non-standard installations including LED shower lighting and recessed power and lighting under my kitchen cabinets. Dave's rates are very reasonable and they welcome credit cards which is not always the case as some of these guys are clamoring to get every last penny out of you and less concerned with providing convenience to the customer. They were great. We have had terrible luck with finding a good electrician. We looked on yelp yesterday and called Electrician on Call. The office staff was lovely and got us scheduled for the next day. Our technician Travis was great. He was on time. The work was done exactly as we hoped. He was efficient, kept the area clean and was really nice and knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable as well. We are already making a list of future jobs to have Travis help us with.
tl;dr - Half of my mother's kitchen had been without electricity for months and Dave fixed it in under an hour.
Previously, I filed a work order with American Home Shield and they sent out two electricians from All American Electrical Services. One of the two electricians claimed that the outlets were improperly installed and said that I needed to get the kitchen rewired, which involved tearing down part of the wall -- something that AHS doesn't cover.
So I did some internet sleuthing, found Electrician On Call, and gave them an e-mail. Dave was quick with his responses and I decided to schedule an appointment.
Dave decided to personally take a look at my kitchen since I mentioned that two other electricians were not able to figure out the problem. He showed up promptly and immediately found the issue. Turns out, the other electricians were incorrect. It was an easy fix and Dave told me that the other electricians were either lazy or trying to overcharge me. He found the GFCI switch that my mother and I had been looking for for the past several months in under a minute. The work was finished in under an hour and my kitchen lights are working again!
A few days later, I got a new garbage disposal and had it installed, but the outlet under the sink stopped working. I e-mailed Dave and and he came out the next day to take a look. Again, he immediately found the reason and fixed the issue.
Additionally, Dave wore shoe covers, was really tidy, and professional. I am so entirely floored by how great this company is that I've already recommended Electrician On Call to my friends and plan to use this company again in the future. Thank you so much!
I was in dire need of help as I was having problems with my outlets/electrical stuff in the kitchen and some other areas. Having just moved to the metro I was bombarded with those ads on the television from Milestone Electric. I admit... they have a great jingle that I just could not get out of my head! However, I decided to research them on YELP prior to calling them and I am glad that I did that! I decided against them and saw some good reviews on Electrician on Call. So... I called Dave and he was so wonderful! Very professional and fair in his pricing. He came out and took the time to show me stuff that I really did not know. I could tell that he was not out to rip us off. He repaired the problem and the entire event was outstanding. We will certainly call Dave again for our electrical needs and will recommend him to anyone we know that needs an expert electrician.
Called and got a quote in an e-mail. called multiple times to schedule the work, left multiple messages spoke to the receptionist who gave dave's cell phone. She assured me she would relay the message herself and told me to reach out as well. it's been 3 days and no call back from either people. Someone else was trying on my behalf all last week and got the same response. its going on 10 days today. I guess business is good because these guys just don't care to do the work.

It is in huge part thanks to Dave and Obdulio that I have been able to occupy my home. They came in and worked long and hard to find and correct the EXTENSIVE problems and mess that existed at my home from a dishonest contractor who had come in an made an absolute mess. Altho I knew this jerk had stolen my money and continually disregarded the agreed specs, I had not idea of the horror I was asking that Electrician on Call deal with.
I hired Electrician on Call to come in and finish the incomplete electrical work I was left with at my house when I realized I had to fire the contractor (hired for reno after my house was destroyed by a fire). The house had been taken down to the studs, and (supposedly) all new siring and electrical installed.
Among the disasters that poor Dave discovered upon starting the work were (i) for about 60% of the rough electrical that had supposedly been completed (all had already been covered over with drywall), there was no wiring connecting the rough fixtures and switches that had been installed, (ii) no 220 volt outlets had been installed as required for appliances, (iii) much of what work had been done was not in compliance with code, (iv) no wiring had been installed to provide electricity to the garage, (v) the portions of the fixtures to be installed to finish each (i.e., the light/ fan/ etc. to be attached to the fixture base after installation of the drywall) was missing/ nowhere to be found, (vi) the wiring that had been installed for special purpose fixtures, such as auto-on/off dusk 'til dawn lights, etc. were incompatible with the fixtures and had to be completely redone, (vii) the bases provided for many of the lights were mis-located (located contrary to the specs) so that the fixtures could not be installed without starting over and installing the rough in the proper location/ position per the specs, (viii) all of the recessed lights aka pot lights fixtures were for the wrong size bulbs and were the wrong type, so the big reflector bulbs hung as if their bellies protruded from overhead, meaning all of these pot light fixtures (over 30 of them) had to be completely replaced, (ix) contrary to the specs, no wiring had been installed to accommodate lighting fixtures in the kitchen and dining room built-in cabinets, (x) improperly installed bases for hard-wire fire alarms led to shorts, improper function and hazard, (xi) many outlets in damp locations and otherwise required to be of the GFCI variety were not, and so had to be replaced, (xii) the electrical control panel was hopelessly mislabeled, requiring hours to figure out and untangle. (xii) many of the switches had been located in odd or inaccessible locations, and (xiii) many of the multiple switch plates had wires connecting to only 2 or 3, rather than 4, switches - or only 1 of 2 switches. I know that is not the complete list of problems, but it should serve to illustrate the level of unholy mess that Electrician on Call took on.

He was on-time. Very professional. Listened to the symptoms and quickly found the problem with our GFC outlet. $90 for the whole deal. I found my new electrician for future repairs.
We decided to reschedule our appointment and we are glad we did. Excellent, fast work and the guys were very professional. They offered a discount for cancelling our original appointment the morning of which was appreciated. I would use this company again, hoping the scheduling issue was just a one time thing.
First good experience with an Electrician. He is honest and dependable and tells you if he can save you money by doing something yourself. Great experience. Used him at home and at work. Great experience both times.
Used Electricians On Call for the first time today. Called yesterday and the owner Dave picked up. He gave me great info over the phone and provided an estimate via email right away. He got my service scheduled for the next morning and the electricians did a fantastic job! Everything was very reasonably priced and all four jobs were completed to perfection. I could not be happier.
Dave is a very honest guy. Had some minor electrical issues and he was able to quickly diagnose and correct the problem. Second time to use this company and great both times. I had excellent response times and friendly service. I'm a highly satisfied customer and recommend you give them a call for your electrical needs!

After last Thursday's storm, Oncor informed us that our meter was damaged and we would need to hire an electrician to come fix it. I called Electrician On Call Saturday night around 10 pm and was instantly answered by Dave, the owner, who told me he would try to stop by our house Sunday afternoon or if too busy first thing Monday morning,
Monday morning he came by the house and took a look at what was required. He gave me a very reasonable quote and told me that I should really get quotes from several other companies so that I know without a doubt his quote was not too pricey.
After calling several other companies for quotes and being told by every other company that no one was available to come out and give a quote until Wednesday, we called Dave back and hired him to do the job. (Going on 5 nights without power is not the most exciting prospect in the world)
At 8 PM that same night, 2 technicians arrived and did a fantastic job.
It is now 1:18 AM, and they are finishing up the final touches now. Great technicians with great manners, they treated me like I was their first stop of the day when I know full well they had been working nonstop since early this morning.
The only minor inconvenience was sometimes feeling out of the loop with regards to communication from EOC dealing with scheduled time of arrival/service. But the fact that they fit me in on the same day and worked until the early hours of the morning far overpowered any negativity I felt with that.
Thanks so much for restoring our power! I Highly recommend this company.
UPDATE: It is 1:30 AM, the technicians are completed with the job, and the payment process went exactly as planned, with no hidden fees or anything.
I am going to bed in an air-conditioned, lit house with the comforting hum of the refrigerator to lull me to sleep.

This is my first review on Yelp (I think?). I joined Yelp a loooong time ago and always took advantage of reading other people's helpful reviews, but not until now have I felt compelled to write my own.
After procrastinating for a long time on looking for an electrician, I finally Googled Dallas electricians and noticed the high star rating for Electrician on Call from Yelp. When I called, Dave answered and helped me diagnose a problem over the phone (which I was then able to fix myself) instead of coming by and charging me for something that was easy to fix yourself.
Liking his honesty and professionalism, I scheduled for him to come out and install some landscape lighting, motion sensor lights, and an LED dimmer at our house. Dave showed up on time (no flakiness here) and gave me a very upfront and fair quote for everything I needed done. Another electrician (I didn't get his name but he was also so awesome) showed up 15 minutes later and they began their work. I paid them exactly what was quoted and am super pleased with the results of their work!
Electrician on Call will definitely be on my go-to list from now on. It's a real blessing to be able to find such a reliable and pleasant contractor. Thanks Dave and team!

Called Dave after receiving quotes for major electrical work needed to sell my house. He showed up on time for the scheduled appointment and was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me something I did not need. Dave worked late into the night (1am) to prepare my quote which to my pleasant surprise was considerably less than two other companies I called (Milestone and Mr. Electric). I accepted his offer and two days later work begun. My project was a multiple day project and Dave kept me up to speed about what was going on throughout the process. After the work was finished I was pleased with the overall quality and would definitely use his services again.

This company just generally employs really great people. They don't want to nickel and dime you and will answer questions over the phone to avoid coming out and charging you for a quick fix they could explain over the phone. One time a man came over to help me install a mounting plate in my ceiling because I had built a chandelier I wanted to install. When he got here, he found out that the plate was actually unnecessary and would be quite expensive. However, he spent almost an hour with me looking into the ceiling and figuring out the best way to install the my chandelier without charging me a dime. He even gave me some free toggle bolts and screws and explained the best way to use them. I ended up giving him a tip for the time he spent, but he could have easily charged me a fee for coming out there. Top notch service.

We consider ourselves fortunate to have found an electrician as good and reliable as Dave and his crew. Highly recommend without hesitation.
I needed a job completed for my new house that I didn't feel comfortable doing..and Dave and Co. came to the rescue. I had all of the busy work done, just someone to come in and do the wiring that I could trust and was licensed. After reading other Yelp reviews and calling around for comp pricing, I went with EOC. They were booked out a week, but this wasn't an urgent job. I was given a time frame of 9am-noon...and they arrived about 12:15. No huge deal, I guess. Dave and his top technician arrived and he apologized for his tardiness, which I appreciated. Knowing the top two guys came to do this job immediately put my mind at ease though. Another thing I appreciated was his professionalism, both attitude and appearance. They both arrived in nice, separate vans with the business logo as well as wearing shirts of the same. Dave and I discussed the different ways to complete the job, and gave me the pros and cons for each. The thing I appreciated the most was that he shot it to me straight each way, but was willing to do what I wanted. He assured me that it would take around an hour and they both worked hard and diligently to do so. Dave and his assistant completed the job to my satisfaction and walked away knowing that I could trust his work and would confidently stand by it. Thanks for being such a hardworking, trustworthy company and I will not hesitate to call again if needed!

Great experience. Had some chandeliers hung and one readjusted. They also reinstalled an electrical box in my ceiling. These guys are professional, show up on time, prices are great, super efficient, friendly and courteous. Will be my go-to electrician from now on!

After reading glowing reviews here I set up an appointment for today. I left work on my lunch break and patiently waited more than 45 minutes. My two phone calls to the dispatcher were unreturned and the electrician was a no show. They may be great electricians, but they stood me up and made me waste my valuable time. Not impressed.
Very satisfied! Let me just get that out of the way first. As a recent transfer here to the Lone Star State, I am finding that trying to connect with service professionals to do any work in my home has been challenging. No shows, and having to leave multiple messages at businesses is not fun for me. I reached out to EOC only after I attempted to use others. The reason for this is that I thought they were going to be busy given that they had extremely high Yelp reviews and all of the new construction in the area. I was wrong, and I'm glad I was! I made an appointment for an estimate on a Monday, thumbs up and the technicians were at my home the following Saturday to install 31 can lights. Bonus points for showing up on time, cleaning up after themselves and removing a nipple light in my living room and installing a wall sconce. I would recommend this business to anyone within earshot of my voice.

I can't say enough about Dave and his crew. We are new to Dallas and have hired them twice already, they are always on time, on or below estimate, clean, courteous and overall pleasant. Best of all, their work is top-notch! We had them fix some inspection issues on our home, fix or replace 3-way switches and outlets, install small recessed lights in an alcove, add a security/sensor light to the outside of our home and everything was done perfectly.
I called and spoke to Dave about an electrical problem we were having. Even though I am not technically knowledgeable, he was able to get a good idea of the problem from our short phone conversation. I sent him a photo and he was able to suggest a possible solution that I could do myself. He didn't even try to sell his services since the fix was something he felt we were easily capable of handling ourselves, and he was right. The problem is now fixed and I will not hesitate to call Dave if/when I need service in the future.

This is my first yelp review, but I've used yelp for years, reading restaurant reviews when traveling.
I had electrical problems that needed to be fixed, and could not get in touch with an electrician I've used for years. Not sure who to call I looked at yelp reviews and read the reviews for Electrician on Call. I called David Jones, the owner, in the late morning and described my problem. He said he's have an electrician at my house in the late afternoon within a one hour window and he gave me a price for the parts and service.
At the agreed time, David showed up because he said the electrician he was going to send was hung up on a job. David came in and fixed my problem and also dealt with an extraneous problem that needed to be fixed that I was unaware of when I called him.
David Jones, the owner of Electrician on Call, was very professional, showed up on time, fixed my problem for the price he'd quoted on the phone, and he's a nice guy.
Highly recommended.
Gave me a quote via email to fix dead outlets. Came over within 2 days then fixed the issue quickly and didnt charge for the visit. Will use him for our next project.

While remodeling a bedroom the power in one end of our house went out around 6 pm. After checking the breakers none were found to be tripped, so I started looking for an electrician. I called Electrician on Call due to several good reviews on Yelp, in which the reviewer said they went above and beyond what was expected and didn't charge them for every little thing. I spoke with Dave, the owner, on the phone and he started having me check things over the phone to try and determine what was wrong. It ended up being a tripped GFI plug in a bathroom. Once reset, everything worked again. The call took 4 minutes. Dave could have very easily come out and charged me for a service call to push a button, but instead, walked me through how to fix it myself over the phone for free.
I had a repair done that had a problem and Dave came right out and fixed it at no cost. He came in time for me to make it to an important appointment in the afternoon. Ally did a great job coordinating the visit...thank you very much.

SOOOOOO HAPPY I FOUND ELECTRICIAN ON CALL!! We just moved to Dallas and purchased a new home. When we had an electrical issue this morning, I turned to Yelp to find an electrician. I believe we called Electrician On Call around 10am. They were so kind and helpful from the onset. They first offered to try to resolve our issue over the phone--walking us through the steps required to check the breaker box, etc. This service was free of charge. When we were unable to figure out the issue over the phone, they said they would have someone here by 3:30pm. David was running a little behind and they promptly called to notify us of the 30 minute delay. When he arrived at our home at 4pm, he quickly re-checked the typical quick-fix issues that we had reviewed over the phone this morning. Our issue turned out to be a blown GFI that was connected to another switch on the second floor of our home, even though it was affecting the lights in a room on the first floor. I never would have been able to find this on my own. David had it figured out and fixed within 15 minutes.
On top of the already superb customer service, he offered us a discounted rate off the normal service call charge, because he said it didn't take him that long to fix. I still can't believe it. Since purchasing this new home, we have had a minimum of 15 trade professionals here working on various updates needed and I wish more folks would follow the lead of Electricians On Call. I am so glad that I found them and will definitely be calling them again with any and all electrical needs. David was kind, professional, clean (knocked on the door already wearing booties to protect my floors/carpet), efficient, and offered a discounted price to boot. Fabulous customer service and I highly recommend!

E o C came to my house as scheduled and on time. There were two men as I had a few jobs to perform. They switched out 8 old style cans to LED cans. Added a dedicated outlet for Christmas lights, installed a motion light, ran the wiring for and installed a recessed LED in a shower. All of the work was done efficiently and cleanly. The price came in right at the price I had been quoted over the phone. Because of language differences communication was good not great. There were a couple of other jobs I probably would have added if we could have communicated more conversationally. Additionally a great value add would be if the technicians could repair the drywall they had to cut through to run the wire for new light. Also I would prefer to pay an hourly rate as posed to by the job.

I looked for a reliable electrician with reasonable rate in my area and came upon electrician on call (David) through Internet search. I called the number at 7:45 am and expected an answering service but was pleasantly surprised to talk to a person. I gave a description of my project and got an instant quote. I called around to get other quotation and their prices were ridiculously high, I decided to give David the job. My appointment was set at 7 am on Saturday and they actually showed up exactly on time. I showed them what I wanted done and David provided some useful suggestion to help me save some money. The work and services were done to perfection. In fact, the fixtures I bought were not good and I had to get another kind and David came out again to get it changed out with no extra charge. I appreciate that. Keep up the good work David. I strongly recommend David if you are looking for a reasonably priced and reliable electrician.

Let me start by saying this is the second review I've ever given on yelp and the first one was a super bad one with an issue that really needed addressing. I am giving this one because this was one of the best experiences I've had and it deserves acknowledgement. Yesterday, a dryer repair man came to our house and informed us our dryer was not broken but it was the outlet. He also informed us that our fuse box was giving off an electrical charge (which apparently can be a very dangerous situation.) After doing a little online research, I decided to give Electrician On Call a call. The assistant gave me Dave's phone number to explain what we thought was going on, which I did. He said after he was done with his last project of the day, he would come by. He came by last night (same day) and assessed the situation. He gave us comfort in knowing that our fuse box was not receiving an electrical charge (which he confirmed is a very dangerous situation) but that our dryer plug had burned up. He showed us where it was burned confirming the problem. He gave us a quote and then he fixed the plug/socket/wiring at a reasonable price and our dryer now works. We could not have been more pleased. Dave seems to be passionate about his work, extremely knowledgable and is not looking to take advantage of his customers, which is easy to do considering most people don't know about electricity, fuse boxes, sockets, etc. He will definately be the first person we call when we have any electrical issues/needs. I highly recommend him.
I called Electricians on Call a few months ago because of a problem I was having with what I thought was a breaker box, Dave answered my call and came the next day to check it, as it turned out there was not a problem at all. He did not charge me and gave some helpful advise. Needless to say when my door bell stopped working I contacted EOC. They came out on Friday, doorbell was working, transmitter needed to be replace ( knocked out by the storm a few weeks ago, I guess) then on Saturday it no longer worked. Contacted EOC on Monday, had to leave a message, that was never returned, called 2/3 hours later and got a lady, that appeared to be in her car to schedule a time for them to return, which I did and they were supposed to her here today between 2-4, it's now 4:28. I called a little after 4 and got a voice message to leave a number. This is very frustrating to do when you are dealing with a business, there should be someone answering calls at all time. I called back about 10 mins. on another phone and again got some lady that sounded like she was in her car. She was supposed to contact these guys and call me back, that was 15 mins. ago, still nothing. So now I either have to sit her and wait for them to hopefully show up or keep calling and getting voince mail. This is very frustrating. I paid them good money for this repair. This is just poor business. No matter how good you are customer service keeps you coming back. As I type this I get a call from Allie, they will be here within the next 30 to 40 mins. that almost 2 hrs. from when they are supposed to be here. Now I understand that some jobs can take longer, but a phone call would have been nice instead of my contstant calls, to voice mail at that. Very dissappointed.
I needed two ceiling ventilation exhaust fans installed in the kitchen. Dave gave a very very reasonable quote. Electrician, Julio, was very friendly and professional. He took his time to get the job done right. I was quoted for 3 hrs worth of work. Julio ended up spending almost 5 hrs installing the two fans and I did not have to pay extra. Julio understood his limitations by telling me upfront that he was not able to rout the vent duct thru the roof. My initial quote was readjusted and I would have to hire a roofing contractor to do the duct work. I would definitely recommend these guys to my friends. Thank you.
Dave came to work at my home in November 2010. I thought he was a nice man. He seemed to project knowledge of his profession. We called him 2x. The fan/light installed worked fine. The GFCI outlet that he replaced because it was tripping continued to do so. The outdoor/exterior light control he replaced quit working 2 weeks after he replaced it. He also added a new outlet in our garage. I thought all was good with it until today. Seems not only in the GFCI outlets he installed but also in the regular outlet, the wires were crossed. The reason the outdoor/exterior light control quit working was because the GFCI plug was exposed to moisture. The GFCI plug was rusted because of moisture and the box needed to be replaced. He never addressed any of those things. This week, I hired Milestone Electric to safety check my home and they showed me why I was having problems. I think if Dave was really paying attention he should have addressed the problems that were obvious.
