I had a hot water heater burst in my home in Allen.  I had just used Classic to fix a faucet at my business 3 days prior.  I liked the service and price so called again for the hot water heater repair.  Classic came out promptly and professionally just as you'd expect.  Aaron did a very thorough job and was very nice to work with!  Overall great experience and top notch service!

I have been looking for contractors for a remodel job which includes a newer digital thermostat and control system. I received this referral from a friend/ realtor, and they had good reviews here on google. I called them and they let me know that just to give a quote was $170. I confirmed that this was their hourly rate and that if we moved forward that it would be applied to the work (answer-yes). I also confirmed that they had installed similar systems. This is the first contractor I have come across that has charged for a quote, and although that felt like a red flag, I proceeded, since they were a referral.

The gentleman did show on time, however made comments upon arrival about having to You-Tube how these systems worked. Then he said we got the wrong hardware (despite us working directly with several Kohler sales reps and them ensuring the order was what was needed previously). Then he called the office and talked and then said that yes we had what we needed. I gave him a detailed parts list. Then we closed out, paid our $170 and waited on our quote.

Despite confirming the hourly rate prior to their arrival, the quote that we received ($9000) was absolutely exorbitant and if broken down just as labor, would have been about 53 hours. We have done a full remodel of our house over the past 12 months, including 3 other bathrooms. I do have a gut check on the cost of flex PVC and pricing of materials. I expected this plumbing quote to come in much higher than our other jobs due to the digital system, but the price they gave either was a judgement on how much they thought they could get from us OR it was high enough they knew they wouldn't have to do the job and could justify their consultation fee. I would certainly not say they are competitive or fair market value.

I did send an email back on the quote to get more detail 2 days ago, and to politely explain that we were clearly not on the same page with how their pricing works as the quote did not follow the initial pricing discussions.

I also gave them a call today after not receiving a response to my email, and feeling even more frustrated and quite frankly misled and taken advantage of. They did refuse to refund any of the consult fee, and the purpose of this review to is to ensure others know exactly how they run this business. It's a good rule not to pay for quotes, and really I knew better, I just thought since a friend of a friend referred them, I would take a chance, especially because I have a construction timeline to keep to.

After moving into our new house in Plano we discovered we had plumbing leak. At 1st we called different Co who said we needed entire new Plumbing System. We then contacted Classic who responded immediately assessed problems & quoted us price. Work started within day or 2. They had to dig tunnel under house one end to other. Men were pleasant & knew their business. Only issue we had was with the Crew who refilled tunnels. They were from a contracted Co. They showed up late everyday they were here. Classic got job done. Alert if you need big or small job I highly recommend. Be aware it will take 2 full weeks to replace plumbing.

They also guarantee their work something almost unheard of with Plumbing problems.

There was a small leak coming from T-connector on the thermal expansion tank above my hot water heater.  I called a plumbing company that quoted me their fixed price which was ridiculous.  I declined their services and called Classic Plumbing after seeing good reviews.

Classic said the repair would be on a time and materials basis which I knew would be reasonable since it is a simple repair with the equipment accessible in the garage.  Ken came out a did the repair in just under an hour and the total price was approx half of what the other company wanted to charge.  And the way the repair was done is better than the way the builder did it.  Brass instead of plastic.

Glad I called Classic.

There are two things that make a company one that I want to work with. The first is the quality of their work. The second is the business side. Are they punctual, polite, quick and accurate in pricing, etc.

We have had two experiences with Classic Plumbing. The first was a few months ago when we needed a new hot water heater and needed it to be moved to a new location. Their plumber came out to assess our needs and the next day we received a written quote to replace and move the hot water heater. The next week when the plumber returned to do the work, he said the quote was only to move it, not to replace it. That made no sense because our old hot water heater was from 1978. After a few calls to the office and showing a copy of their quote, they did honor it, even though they had to eat that loss. The plumber did a good job and the hot water heater works great. But, there continued to be communication issues between the plumber and the office. He did not finish the job in 1 day so he told us he would return the following day. I stayed home and my kids stayed home during a summer vacation day. At about 1 I finally called the office and they said the plumber had not informed them that he did not finish so we were not on the schedule. That was a Friday so we had no hot water heater until the weekend when they returned on Monday. ANd my kids and I had to stay home again. It was frustrating. So, the quality of their work was 5 stars but the organization and frustration lowered that rating to 2 stars.

This week we had another experience with Classic Plumbing. We are doing a remodel and adding a bathroom where a previous owner removed it. We decided to have the old pipes looked at and replaced. 2 plumbers from Classic came out in a timely manner. They were polite and easy to work with. They got under the house to take notes and I was told I would have an estimate first thing the next morning (Friday). Friday at 3:30 I was called and told that it would not be ready until Monday morning and work could begin Tuesday. On Monday, we were still delayed but I was assured that they would have it first thing Tuesday and they would still come do the work that day. This was delaying our other construction so we were anxious to get work started. Tuesday morning they called to give me the quote and I felt like he was coming up with it while on the phone well, I think the plumber said it would take 2-3 days and at a rate of $210 an hour for 2 plumbers to work on it, it would be...lets see.. I guess about $6000 What!!!??? It took 2 business days plus a weekend to shoot off a number on the fly just an hour before they were supposed to show up? Well, that was $2000 MORE than a corporate plumber that the Classic Plumber assured me they would come in under. So, I told Classic Plumbing that this would be our last phone call.

So, if you need good work but are willing to suffer through those issues, this is a great plumber. But, I do not have time for it!

WOW - this business is run the way every business should be run. Customer Service is a priority and pride of workmanship!

We recently had a big flood in the front yard the day we were flying out for a funeral! We've used CP in the past w/ our other property and had been impressed w/ their punctuality and quality of workmanship.

CP sent a plumber to our house in less then 2 hours, accurately diagnosed the problem (broken 30 yr old pipe betw water meter & the house!

They came back the next morning dug a trench from the house to the meter replaced all the 30 year old piping with brand new pipe! The two guys who cut the trench did such a good job it looked like it had been machine trenched!

The water was only shut off for less than an hour which was a plus since we have an elderly parent living with us.

Classic Plumbing is reliable punctual professional and a pleasure to deal with highly recommend this plumbing company!!!

We had several plumbing problems at our house. I called Classic Plumbing on the advice of a friend. They did a great job, and fixed everything at a reasonable price... Great customer service on the phone and in person. I will use them again if needed, and recommend them to my friends!!

I have happily been using Classic Plumbing since the 80's and had them out again today to clear a clogged line.  They sent a kid :-) named Riley who unquestionably is the most conscientious and well-mannered worker that anyone has sent to my home/s from any type of maintenance service. I am 72, so that represents about a zillion service personnel over the years. He not only cleared the leak in a timely manner but cleaned up everything and helped me move my item back to where they belong.  Classic Plumbing needs to give him a raise as he represents one of their better advertisements.

Their guy showed up an hour late, spent 5 minutes assessing the job. Told me I had to shut off a master valve before he could do any work, charged me $70 and left.

Mathew did an excellent job and was very easy to talk to. Leaky external faucett was repaired as needed and as quoted.

call for some plumbing work on a saturday, came out but not prepared to do the work. Charged me a service call and came back several days later with a different guy who took twice the time to do the job and estimate cost of 500.00 went to almost 900.

WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had slow drip coming from my side of the water meter under the man hole cover out at my front sidewalk.  I called Classic plumbing, and they sent a plumber real quick.  He looked at my leak, got on his stomach, cut the connector off with his little string saw, replaced the connector, and the leak was fixed.  This was all done for the price of a service call - $105, and in about 40 minutes time.  Tremendous!

Used them to replace a leaking valve. Showed up quickly in 30 mins or so. Finished the job in 5-10 mins. Taking off a star because I was charged $240 an hour which I think is quite high but nonetheless they took care of the job when I needed it so I appreciate that.

After using a bunch of other plumbers, we finally found a local plumber who charges reasonable rates and  does a great job-- we paid about half what another plumber quoted us for a new hot water heater.

Classic Plumbing is our plumber from now on.

Riley and Ricky replaced my toilet this afternoon. They did a great job, good teamwork, and were very efficient. They wore masks and did a good job cleaning up. They were very professional and personable.
They were late for the appointed time, but a call from the office could have made the customer service experience better.

7:30 this morning, toilet kept running.  Called Classic at 8:10 and because of planned activities told them either right now, after 3 pm or Monday.  He said, hang on.  Came back on phone in a couple minutes and said a man was on the way.  Toilet fixed at 10:15.  Greg did an outstanding job which didn't surprise me.  I've been using Classic for over  20 years and have never been disappointed.  I  really don't know if they charge more or less than other companies, but I know they provide great quality work.

Fast and friendly service! We called for a plumber to come out and they were able to accommodate our limited window of availability (12-1). They were here on time (and I was running behind) and finished within the hour! Riley and Dean were very professional and informative. I trusted them completely and was very satisfied with their service. I would definitely use them again and recommend them!

We had a nasty clog in our master bathroom sinks and Riley was able to get it out with no problem. He was very professional and easy to work with. I will be be using Classic from here on out. Thank you guys.

Hot water had turned to lukewarm water so I called Classic to come take a look. They installed a new Rheem water heater the same day and were very professional. They came back out to check and adjust a few things the following week. The price was very much in line with what I expected to pay. They were on time, courteous, professional, and fair. Exactly who you need to call if you have a plumbing issue.

I had a clog in my main sewer line to the street and they managed to get me scheduled same day.  They were on time, called ahead and had the line cleared within an hour.  All for about $170, completely reasonable for me.  The guy they sent out, Marc, was great.  Thanks Marc!

If you have a real plumbing issue and you call these guys, they will come out, spend a few minutes and tell you it will be $140.00 for the estimate. Then claim the estimate cost will be taken off the bill if you allow them to do the work.

Here's the catch, when you agree to let them do the work, they take the money and never show up to do it.

I don't believe they have the expertise to deal with real plumbing issues.

JUST BEWARE: if you call classic plumbing, it will cost you at least $140.00 and you will get nothing for it.

This review might change but as of right now, I'm not very happy with them. I called them to install a dishwasher and was quoted $140 which was comparable to what Lowe's or Home Depot charges. I specifically asked what if they need parts or anything to finish the installation and I was assured they would have someone run out the parts and that it should not take more than an hour. The day the tech came out, he said he needed to come back the next day with a part and took the installation instructions with him. He came back the next day and had to keep referring to the instructions and calling his supervisor. 3.5 hours later, he supposedly had finished his part since it ends up I need an electrician to install a plug, which I understand. Unfortunately, my mom was there for me and just handed over her credit card for a $467 bill! To install a dishwasher!

I called first thing this morning and told the manager that if they didn't know how to do it or thought it would cost that much, they should have said as much and I would have found someone else to install it. They were not forthcoming at all! I called this company because I had had good experiences previously but I'm extremely upset they weren't honest about their capabilities. As quoted and verbally guaranteed, it should have been $140 plus the $12 part. We'll see if they refund the difference, but I'm not sure I'd use them again just because I feel they were dishonest about their capabilities. I've referred other people to them as well but I definitely can't do that anymore.

Update: these people are horrific liars! When I proved that my double dishwasher could be installed for less like I was asked for, Julia in the office accused me of intentionally not telling them what kind of dishwasher it was like I would know the difference! Reported them to the BBB! These are horrible people who didn't complete the job they were overpaid to do! They wouldn't even refund the difference from what they quoted and what they charged! Completely dishonest and will do anything to sway the blame when their guys can't do the job!

We had a leak at our home. The gentleman that answered the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful. The crew came out the next day. Malik and his crew repaired the leak in a timely fashion and cleaned up the area that they had to dig.  This is our third time using Classic and we will contact to do so.

Had them come out to fix the pipe where it broke due to the roots. They came to unclog the line. Which the line was already unclogged. They provided a quote for $140 per hour after they looked at it. The plumber called his boss, John and that price changed to $2,500. I asked why the number changed because both prices were quoted AFTER they were there and he said if you don't like it, don't take the bid. Terrible customer service and bad communication. Too many other plumbers to work with this one.

Spent over $500 in April.and a part they provided and replaced has quit working. One month warranty...$140 to come plus price of new part to fix it AGAIN!

I've used Classic Plumbing at least twice in the last several years. Whoever the lady is that just called me was extremely rude, would not let me speak, and continued to talk over me. I realize you've had 500+ calls over the last week but that's absolutely no way to treat your customers especially your repeat long term customers. I tried to tell her what was going on and how I had paid another company to cap the pipe but it's not fixed and she said oh you've got help okay and then tried to hang up. I yelled NO I STILL NEED HELP before she hung up and she came back and said oh and once again would not let me speak and kept talking over me until I finally hung up the phone.  She was completely rude and you give rude service you get a rude response back.  You can thank her for losing a long time customer.

I will never use Classic Plumbing again.  They don't guarantee there work, when there is a problem they want to charge you again for fixing there on mistake.  Be Aware stay away from this company.

I was having several plumbing issues I called and within a couple of hours Ken was on the job.  He was very courteous and respectful to me and was very knowledgeable about his profession.  He did a great job and it looked highly professional.  Thank you Ken and Classic Plumbing!!!!!!  Piper Kiser- Plano

This has been a terrible experience, the plumber didn't have any clue what was wrong, but he just kept wasting my time and kept cutting the tube. It was an absolute rip off, I would NEBER recommend them to anyone, they are unprofessional, rude and stubborn  I really want my money back, and I regret calling them.

We really like Classic Plumbing. We recently redid our master bathroom. The guy that was supposed to do it completely freaked out on us and left us high and dry. So we hired Classic Plumbing and Jeff came to the rescue. He did our very complicated bathtub. A freestanding tub. He put in all the showerheads and faucets as well . He also put in our toilet. I felt like he was part of the family once he left. Everything is beautiful and works perfectly. Classic Plumbing does an amazing job.  Jeff always wore his mask when he was in our house. We felt very safe having him around.

Jeff and Chris were at my house all day putting in a gas line in my attic for a new gas stove. They did a great job finding the best solution and were so helpful. They cleaned up after themselves and I was very pleased with their work.

Leaky water shut-off outside in flower bed. Malik McClemore at Classic Plumbing did an outstanding job on a difficult and dirty job. He was professional, courteous and really knew his stuff. Now everything is fixed and NO LEAKING!

Malik even returned the next morning to put some extra finishing touches on things. He went way above and way beyond to make sure the job was done right and to my satisfaction.

I'll be using Classic Plumbing for all my plumbing needs in the future!

I just had Classic Plumbing come out to repair (patch) a broken water line.  Two teams worked on the job.  The first team diagnosed the problem quickly and gave me options.  The second team patched the water line.  Thanks to Curt, Riley, Jarod and assistant for today's fine job.

This isn't my first outstanding experience with Classic.  They are always on-time, diagnose and fix the problem speedily, and never have they tried to sell me a bill of goods.  Their plumbers have always been very polite, professional, dressed appropriately, and take care to keep things as neat and clean as possible.  Their rates are very fair. I highly recommend Classic.

Very bad experience. Inept and unprofessional company. Completely misdiagnosed an outside leak. Did unnecessary work which would have cost a lot of money. Did poor job cleaning up.

Just repaired the dreaded Water Pipe Leak Under The Slab. Dale was totally professional and very conscientious. He was determined NOT to have to tear open the slab. He was able to re-route the plumbing around the leak using PEX. And the best part, much less than what he thought it might cost originally. These guys have replaced my water heater last year and installed the faucets in the remodeled bath room. I highly recommend them. Bravo!

This is an unprofessional company. They NEVER said they would charge to give an estimate. I would not have asked them for an estimate if they said so. Recently they send a Past Due notice for $140.00 for submitting an estimate. I also note that they want a down payment of 1/2 the estimate to start the work. I contacted 5 other plumbers and none of them asked for payment to submit an estimate or 1/2 down payment to start work. THIS IS A DISGRACEFUL COMPANY. RECOMMEND REMOVAL FROM YOUR LIST.

Happy with my water heater replacement by Aaron. Very knowledgeable and professional, he immediately noticed some issues from the previous install that I knew about from a home inspection. Aaron was able to explain the root cause of the leaky inlet and outlet flexes from the corroded compression fittings and some galvanized steel parts that were used. I agreed to have stainless steel flexes and soldered connections installed with the new water heater so hopefully they survive the full life of the heater. All issues were fixed under the standard install price including re-routing the relief valve line properly. I will use Classic Plumbing for any future needs!

We called Classic Plumbing to come do some work on our master bath renovation.  It involved installing a new Delta shower head and mixing valve and rerouting some plumbing for what used to be a built-in tub to accommodate a freestanding tub.  The first issue arose when the water line that was run for the tub spout developed two separate leaks which were blamed on faulty fittings.  Fine...moving on.  The real issue arose when the plumber failed to install a Delta brand valve and cartridge for the mixing valve at the shower.  He left the Grohe valve and cartridge in place and assured us this would be fine.  We proceeded with having the entire shower tiled, only to realize that when we went to put the new Delta mixing valve on, it wouldn't work.  After speaking with ownership, we were assured that they could very carefully remove the tile around the existing valve and install the new one.  I agreed to have this work done not understanding that, at the end of all this, they intended to put back strips of 1x wood material as the substrate for the tile where we previously had tile backerboard (see photo).  There were sizeable gaps between the strips that are impossible to waterproof and that is less than ideal to adhere tile to.  So now I have to have a handyman come out, remove the wood strips and try to install tile backerboard and then have my tile guy put back tile.  Very frustrating and unprofessional.  Would never recommend this company.

They came over to solve one problem, but by the time they left, I had multiple problems. Was charged nonetheless, called and tried to get them back out to resolve the problem and was hassled, finally gave up.

I thought I might have a major water leak from my master shower.  Alex showed up and performed all the necessary test to see what the problem might be.   He was very professional and knowledgeable.  Upon completion of the test, he diagnosed the problem to be from water drainage from the outside of the house.  No internal plumbing problems.  It was very refreshing to have a direct, honest answer.   This was the first time we have used Classic Plumbing.  Plan on using them again.

Very honest guys, who did quality work and charged us a very fair price! Best experience we've had with a plumber in the area so far.

I couldn't have been happier with the work done by Classic. I need RPZ valves for a new business. This is not an easy installation but Bill showed up, told us everything he needed to do. His work was meticulous and expedient. And, the price was fair. In the future, I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

I recently had Classic replace an outdoor faucet. They did a great job on the faucet, but as the plumber was finishing, he announced that they don't do the masonry work anymore. This came as a complete surprise, since Classic had replaced another outdoor faucet approximately 6 months ago which included the masonry work. The caulking on the latest job was, to say the least, unsightly.

Getting this small of a job done can be a hassle and an expense. Thy guy Classic recommended didn't return messages and when I finally made contact, promised 'early next week'. Early next week came and went, so I found someone else to do the work. Judging from the difference in the bills for the two outdoor faucets Classic replaced, they charged $100 for the masonry work (which was very well done). I wound up paying $175 to have another company come in and do the job.
