Oh my gosh! I was so nervous! I had a small issue with a light not working, no obvious issues with the fixture, no problems with the breaker but I couldn't read any power coming from the switch. I had called my go-to electricians who are apparently too busy right now to answer the phone. I called another friend-recommended electrician who set an appointment and then didn't show. I found Bryant on Yelp and I got an immediate response and then my appointment even got moved up a few days due to a cancellation. What I was nervous about were the few negative reviews and even some of the positives that mention outrageous pricing. Maybe it just depends on the issue but my electrician, Bryan, fixed the issue very quickly, very professionally and at an unbeatable price. He also did a free electrical kind of inspection, checking all of my outlets and switches.

It was super easy to set up the appointment, I got emails and texts along the way so planning for the appointment was no problem and my issue was resolved without breaking the bank. For me, it was an ideal transaction. Thank you!

I had a tankless water heater recently installed, and we wanted to make sure everything was done right, so we asked to get permits pulled.  I had to hire my own electrician for the job, so I hired Bryant Electric to run power from the box to the water heater, about 4 feet away. That cost $800.

When the inspector came, they told me the electrician needed to pull permits for connecting to the box and that the city charges around $40, so shouldn't be too bad. So I went back to Bryant to pull permits and they wanted $800 to do it. I laughed and hung up.

I called other electricians and one told me they charge $100 to pull permits but they wouldn't complete the job for another electrician.

Quick response! They were able to come out the next day and were very patient as we explored options for my outdoor lights. Very fair bid and the work was done 2 days later. Great communication with office team and technician.  Professional, prompt, pleasant, and detailed. Will definitely work with them again!

Use their services if you want to throw away money and in the process also learn that you cannot afford them. It was one of the most irritating encounter when they charged me $195 just to let me know that my fan needs to be replaced, and no more info on what kind of fan to order, when can they replace it  etc. When I called back for clarification I was told to look for cheaper services. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a business. We had a plug shorting out in our garage. The technician came out and spent about 15 min determining that the short was from the fridge plugged in to it. He did absolutely nothing to fix the actual plug or anything to our wiring. He charged $100 service call + $200 for 1 hour of work + $150 for troubleshooting. This should have cost me $150 for the service call and 15 min of work. Instead I was required to pay another $300. This was price gouging at it's finest. I will never hire this company again and I would strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Terrible experience. They tried to immediately change the $59 trip and inspection fee into $330, without doing anything. Then they confirmed what I reported and told me what I could do to try and troubleshoot myself. Anything further was 330.
Don't expect much if you call them for help.

Quick response to schedule. Service fee, told this would go toward work. Just needed porch light fixture replaced and a ceiling fan checked to make sure it was holding securely. Technician did a good job. Charged 225.00,  invoice only listed total. So basically charged that much for 15 minutes of labor to switch out light fixture. Called MGR. who said yeah that's accurate. Calling handyman next time!

During the storms last week we kept losing power at home. The outside lights and the AC still worked, so I knew it was something internal to our house. We called at 9am for a same day appointment. Booth, the technician, was here by 11:30am. Within half an hour he was able to diagnose and fix the issue, plus perform a safety check on the other circuits leading into the house. He could not have been more polite or efficient, in my mind.

The price is a bit above average, however the service was worth it and allowed me to get back to work and not worry any longer. Would definitely choose Bryant again.

It would be a 5-Star review but they are really expensive but I was on a time crunch.  I had 2 outlets installed in my garage (one for the garage door opener and another for a water softener). The electrician tapped off an exiting outlet to run the two new outlets. That job was over $900 dollars and took him 3 hours to complete.  I don't have an issue with the time but that's $300 an hour.  NEVER AGAIN.

I initially called another electrical contractor but they couldn't start on the job for a month (our property had NO electric at all working!) - i researched a bit and found Bryant -- their estimate was a bit lower than the other company and they could start immediately!... Amazing communication from both the office and the electrician himself... we are VERY satisfied!!  The quality of the work is exceptional.

Following a lightning strike to our house and quite a bit of damage I was scrambling to find contactors. I called Bryant Services and they were able to get a technician out that day.

The technician who came out was great ... he knew what he was doing and was able to clearly explain it to me.  I was expecting that this was going to be a huge repair and an expensive job.  The technician could have really taken advantage of me on this one but instead the damage was not as extensive as I expected and the estimate was much lower that I would have ever thought.  Even after repeatedly asking him are you sure and if I were your mother he was reassured me that he could repair the damage and that we would be safe.

The tech was back two days later to do the work and was here right on time.  He got all our electrical issues resolved and I have lights again!!!  I'm excited to be getting the house back to normal but also very happy to have found a service person and company that holds customer service and integrity with such high regard.

I needed an electrician, I just googled electricians in Austin and they came up first on my search so I called.  They were able to schedule an appointment right away, said the charge to come out was $59.  What they didn't say was that the $59 fee did not include absolutely anything else.  I wasn't able to be there when the tech showed up but my tenant was and the tech told her he couldn't do anything because I needed to sign a form saying that I was allowing him to figure out what the problem was.  Why did he need this form?  Just to look for the problem was $225.  No thanks.  I called another electrician, they came out no fee, took one look spent less than 10 minutes and said it wasn't an electric problem and I needed to call a different service (it wasn't and I did, problem solved).  Long story short, won't be using Bryant ever again

We have been using Bryant for 10 years for a variety of installations and repairs in our 65 year old house.  Some of the work they have done for us includes: installing can lights, installing a complicated can fan in a plaster ceilinged bathroom, installing high speed lines, installing fans, new outlets, and dimmer switches.  We have worked with Nick many times and he is always courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, and persistent in solving some tricky electrical issues.  He is also very patient about explaining exactly how things work and providing a variety of solutions.

I have found all my dealing with main office to be completely professional and thorough.

Thank you Nick & Bryant for all your great work!

I installed some new light fixtures myself and then was greeted by my smoke alarm going off so I wanted a professional to come take a look right away.  Bryant was all booked up for the day but put me on their list in case somebody opened up and sure enough Nick was able to come that afternoon. He took a look at everything and made sure all the connections were secure.  Very fast, professional, and affordable service. I highly recommend them.

Price Gouging to the extreme!!!  I was told over the phone that the cost for my work would be around 400-600 but they would charge me $59 to have the tech come out to give a more accurate estimate but the 59 would come off the price of the work.  I said that was fair, scheduled the appt.  The tech came out, he was on time and courteous.  When he looked at the spot where i wanted a 220v outlet installed he said it would be 1400!!!  I asked how i could get one price from the office and another from him and he stated that 'they don't see what i see'  I asked what he saw..he couldn't tell me.  The run was only about 50 ft. from the box and when i asked for a breakdown of parts vs labor he said they didn't do that.  They charge by the job as a whole.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  I had 5 other bonded, insured and certified master electricians come to my house for FREE estimates and they were all around the $800 range give or take a bit with the same exact parts.  I am  highly suspicious of their pricing methods since they can't give me an itemized list of parts vs labor.  They still charged me the $59!  Guess if they are making $59/hr they don't really need to do actual electrical work.

Replaced dimmer switch, bulbs and serial connection to the bog pump. Main problem was broken toilet exhaust fan & lamp. Had him swap the unit from upstairs toilet. Purchased a fan from Homedepot which did not fit. He though it could be a 5$ capacitor but he did not have the part. I ended up buying the entire unit online (150$) and fitting it myself. I paid 500$ for the other jobs ( labor only since all parts were on hand already) which is too much!

Called up a different time to enquire how much it would cost to add a separate breaker for a treadmill. The girl answering the phone said that it will cost 59$ to have someone come and quote. I asked for a ball park, low, high and most probable based on their past experience. She stated that it was policy to quote a price only after a visit ....

Called them for electrical work in a rental property in Austin , I live 200 miles away. Needed two fixtures installed that I had already purchased and a new wall switch. Charged $397 for less than 1  hour's work. The electrician himself was excellent but after he completed the work it seems that he had time to go around the house and catalog all the other work that needed to be done. Called to discuss the pricing but have never heard back. I guess this will teach me not to be so trusting from reading reviews.

Brian was my tech on this visit and a previous one. He is always on time, professional in his manner and his skills are excellent! He is patient and provides information and discussion about decisions such as placement, any potential issues, etc. I like using Bryant Electric because they also provide an up front estimate and options for basic to enhanced installation features. I am so happy with the updated lighting that was just completed. I highly recommend these folks.

This company is a ripoff. We had to ask them to stop showing up and hire another electrician to finish the job. We were charged $6400 for an incomplete job to rewire a kitchen and move a subpanel. Bryant asked for another $1800 to finish the job so we gave up on them. If you decide you love being overcharged for electric work and choose Bryant, ensure Mauricio isn't your electrician. He advised our house kept him up at night indicating he didn't know what he was doing and he took forever to complete work. The electricians observing his work for our second opinion had a laugh at his expense when they saw the quality of his work. When confronting manager Michael Galvez about the situation, he declared Bryant had competitive rates and wasn't sympathetic whatsoever offering a price guide from a consulting firm as evidence. The only evidence this provided was Bryant is out of touch with rates in the market, hired a consulting firm to help, and is passing along the cost to its consumers. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Update: Bryant did not pull a permit with the city prior to starting the work. When we fired them, they threatened to pull the permit if we didn't take this review down. The review was taken down, but Bryant proceeded with the permit anyway. We are first time homeowners and this was our first job on the house. Unfortunately, we weren't as familiar with the requirements for this type of work as we should have been and Bryant completely took advantage of us.

Response to comments below: Statements by Michael are grossly exaggerated at best and a flat lie at worst. If you find a quote for over $6k for a subpanel move and kitchen rewire in less than 500 sq ft, by all means, go with Bryant. They have nice trucks and uniforms. Other electricians will laugh as you hand money to this company while Bryant laughs their way to the bank. If you like reasonable prices and great customer service, steer clear.

Here's what we had done: Relocate 2 ceiling light fixtures and a wired smoke detector. Install new lights into the 2 relocated fixtures. Clean up a mess of switches on one wall. It's hard to even describe the ridiculous array of switches the previous owner had put in.  Bryant Elec was able to consolidate 8 switches into 3 and it looks great. Also, removed fixture boxes and disconnected wiring for 4 sconces that were in the living room. Total cost was $853.

We are happy with the work and have already scheduled them to come back and do more. They do charge a $79 fee to give you an estimate. We weren't crazy about that but if you use them, that fee goes toward your bill.  We had used a different electrician earlier in the year that didn't give estimates. They just came out and did the job and then presented the bill. We were pretty surprised at how high it was. We won't do that again. We've found that it's difficult to comparison shop any type of home improvements involving contractors. They either don't show up or they want to charge for estimates and it's a time consuming process. That being said, it's hard to say how high or average or low Bryant's pricing is but it seems reasonable, especially compared to our experience with the other electrician. Booth Sen is the technician that Bryant sent out. He was extremely professional, friendly and a very good communicator. He showed up on time, both for the estimate appointment and then for the scheduled work. The quality of his work is top notch. We will use Bryant exclusively for all electrical work we need.

A tree branch pulled the electric meter off of the side of my house. I called Bryant the next morning and they showed up and fixed it the same. They were a little pricey ($1700), but they finished it in a timely fashion and it looked great. Sent 3 trucks out to make sure we had power by the end of the day.

Repeat customers.  Nick S. helped us wire up a tankless water heater in our attic a year ago.  We liked his style and had such confidence in his work that we called for him to come back today and install a large lighting fixture.

He arrived well ahead of time, equipped with all the parts needed to do an efficient job.  He was careful to consult with us on every decision involved, gave good advice when we needed input, and left us quite satisfied.

Bryant Service is easy to work with.  An extra thanks to Vanessa at their office, who cheerfully worked with us to schedule the work.

We paid $69 for a salesman to come by and way overbid our proposed job.

but it was more than twice what similar companies charge.

I wanted to add a new light fixture on my garage, and I contacted Bryant at the recommendation of a neighbor.  It took a while to hear back from them, but to be fair, I initially made contact around Christmas time, and mine was a small and non-emergency project.

My technician, Jorge, was very polite and informative as we discussed the work I wanted done, he wrote up an estimate, I okayed it, and he got to work.  I paid $500ish for him to drill through my rock wall, set a junction box, fish wire through the wall and attic, and install the fixture.  It was on the high end of what I expected to pay, but seems reasonable.  He had to cut a couple holes in my drywall, but was able to salvage the pieces so that I only need to patch the seams.

If how tidy does he keep his work area is an indication of quality of work, then Jorge is top-notch.  He put down plastic drop cloths under his tools to protect my (dusty concrete) garage floor, swept up rock debris and dust from his drilling, and took his shoes off when he needed to walk through my house (he had run out of the slipper/bootie things they usually use).

For future electric work, I'll get estimates from other companies, but I will definitely consider using Bryant again.

Bryant Electrical was recommended to me by a friend when I suddenly lost power to my dishwasher (EMERGENCY!!!) Allison gave great customer service over the phone and scheduled me for the earliest available appointment. A few days later Nick came by, and after searching high and low (attic, crawl space, and everything in between)to figure out the wiring in my 50-year old house, he decided we would need a new circuit and quickly installed it up to code. Couldn't be happier with the price and the service. I would highly recommend this company for any electric work you need done. Very glad to have the dishwasher back in order!

Just got done with this company. I will say that the guys showed up promptly. We had a problem with a receptacle not working...the guys opened it up and noticed a wire was loose and connected it. That was it. The problem I had was that we were charged $120 for that (I had a $20 off coupon, it would have been $144). I really think that they should charge based on the issue. I do understand maybe charging for coming out but they were here for about 10 min.  Not only that, many of their competitors are cheaper, so although the electricians did a great job, the price is not right...I highly recommend shopping around...we had to take them because we had an inspection coming and they were the only ones available at the time....

I ordered a couple LED pendant lights to replace the energy hogs hanging in my kitchen. The instructions kinda sucked, but that didn't stop me from trying to do it myself. Dumb. Three days later, I had a couple cut up, scratched up, nonfunctioning lamps.

After getting replacements I started calling electricians to do it for me. Half never called back. Bryant Electric was the cheapest and came out the soonest (4 days after the call). Paul and his assistant actually came 15 minutes early, which was great for me, but I could see clients with tight schedules not liking that. After half an hour they were done and the lamps looked great. (Sense of personal DIY shame aside.) I had neglected to print off the coupon on their website, but Paul was kind enough to remind me, so the end cost was even cheaper.

Bryant Electric Service was called to address a failed bathroom GFCI.  The primary reason for using Bryant was their lower service call charge of $69 -- entitled Travel Truck Overhead Expenses (assumed labeled as such for tax write-off purposes).  With a lesser service call fee, it was anticipated that overall charges would also be reasonable.  This was clearly not the case, given their labor charges.  The total charge for replacing one GFCI came to $268.46 -- clearly exorbitant/excessive beyond reason.  Consistent with the other YELP negative reviews regarding the excessive charges of this company, I couldn't agree more that it is one to avoid -- unless of course you have unlimited financial resources where blatant price gouging is not an issue for you.

The service was very good - communication from the office, knowledge and work of the technician and overall reliability.  What were were unhappy about was the initial cost estimate and we did voice our concern.  Our electrical problem was that power to a few outlets in 2 bedrooms was not getting there.  The lowest cost option suggested was to find the faulty outlet and repair it for $329.  The estimate of time to complete this was 1-2 hours.  I know the actual supply cost was low so the $329 was for the labor.  We felt that this estimate was extremely high but we went ahead rather than pay the service fee of $75, lose time and find another estimate.  Thanks.

I requested an appointment ($59) from Bryant Electric Service because couple outlets in my rental property were not working according to my tenants. They responded very quickly. After the initial diagnosis, the electrician called to inform me that the issues were complicated so an in-depth diagnosis ($350 after waiving the initial $59 appointment fee) would be required. I didn't really have a choice since I was not present. I gave the technician permission to do the diagnosis. After the in-depth diagnosis , he told me that the GFCIs have tripped. All you need to do is to press the reset button. He continued to tell me that the two receptacle covers for the outlet located outside the house are damaged and that might have contributed to the GFCI tripping and recommended replacing them. I said ok and asked him for a quote. He told me it was $120 a piece. Honestly I have never purchased weather-proof receptacle covers before but that price struck me as ridiculously high. I asked him to explain to my tenants how to reset. While he was doing that, I went on Home Depot website and searched for the price. The price ranges from $5-$25 a piece. I called him back and asked him what is the difference between the one he quoted me on and the ones sold in Home Depot. He said his company carries different brand. When I asked him what brand it is, he said he didn't remember. I didn't agree for him to install them so he left. And I did end up buying $8 a piece from Lowe's and replaced them myself. So there I paid $350 for him to tell me resetting the buttons next time when it happened. The electrician is very knowledgeable no doubt.  I don't hold this against the electrician himself a bit. But there is obviously something going on with how the company asks their employee to get more money out of the customers unfairly. I will never recommend their service to anyone.

Bryant, while great at communication, tends to be overpriced for what you get. I've been delighted by the initial conversations with Craig or one of his office folks, but then disappointed by those who end up on site for not completing the job on time or to the specifications we had discussed. For some reason I used them twice for two larger jobs. Now I'm definitely calling someone else. I suggest you shop around.

Such an incredible experience! They were absolutely amazing hanging a chandelier in my living room. A chandelier that had no directions, was missing a light bulb and had many bent areas where crystals should hang. These guys were polite, helpful, quick and went above and beyond by adding light bulbs to 2 other chandeliers that had been hung up by a different electrician that never even completed the job. I got a quote from another company to install an electric vehicle charger (drill through stone exterior wall + new breaker and outlet). I decided to get a second quote and Bryant Electric was half the cost. They had to get a permit (required for the rebate from Austin Energy), which they did quickly. Great communication. Several of the outlets in my rental home were not working. I called my usual company but they said it would be 4 days for the next appointment. Nick from Bryant Electric came out the next day and called to say he would be a few minutes late, diagnosed the problem and then replaced the breaker quickly and professionally. I will call Bryant first from now on. Oh, and the price was very reasonable too.

When I needed a complete electrical system for my art studio, an expert electrician from Bryant Electric Service arrived well supplied and equipped. He worked confidently and efficiently, completing his job long before the next worker showed up to install insulation and paneling. I'm thankful for Bryant Electric's professional level of service, because their electrician installed much better wiring than I had imagined. Wall outlets are so abundant, there will never be a reason to run extension cords everywhere. In addition, every outlet is connected to a ground fault interrupter, which protects me from hazards and gives me peace of mind. The interior is nice and bright with perfectly placed, very efficient lighting. A dedicated wall outlet was installed for the air conditioning unit, another for the loft, and a 240 outlet serves the kiln. When a second 240v outlet was needed for another piece of equipment, an electrician showed up in a very timely fashion and quickly installed that outlet exactly as needed. The results are seamless, and everyone from Bryant was so friendly and professional, I can't possibly imagine better service. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants high quality lighting and wiring installed by truly professional electricians.
