Danny of Solid Home Renovations quite simply does WHAT he promises to do, WHEN he promises to do it, and is ready to correct anything that isn't exactly right (which doesn't happen often).
He responds to phone calls and texts quickly. His prices are fair and competitive.
We just had him complete our second (much smaller) project and we can't say enough great about him and his crew and the results he delivers.

We needed a bathroom remodel to accommodate a wheelchair, including replacing a tub and shower with a roll-in shower, slightly sunken. We chose Independence because it looked like they had experience with handicapped situations, grab bars etc.; and because they did all their work with one small team - concrete removal, tile, plumbing, electrical. The results were great! Obviously experienced; gave helpful ideas on improving our design, and they let us make the choices we wanted. We've been in hotels where the roll-in shower doesn't keep the water back. This one's great. We didn't think we could widen the door, but they were able to move the electrical work, which we thought prevented it, and install a sliding door as well. All done in just over a week, as advertised. Reasonable price. Quality team. Highly recommended.

Eric at E.L. Construction is definitely someone to hire. He was knowledgeable, honest, friendly and cost effective.
I hired him to install three pre-hung exterior doors and Eric was upfront with snags along the way, making sure I had a say in the process.
I want to point out he singlehandedly did all three doors, and he was pleasant to work with as I was finishing up the door handles and locks behind him.
Eric has a construction background and even went over a few quick estimates for other things while he was here, also pointing out good ideas for projects I'll be doing myself.
I'm going to have him come back for a few remaining projects and I will be using him for general handyman things I don't feel comfortable doing.
Thanks, Eric!

If you're looking for a general contractor, highly recommend Kyle King. We had a wall removed, cabinets and countertops pulled, and some electrical rewiring. He was very flexible with us as changes were made while he progressed with the job. Job was completed faster than expected and was extremely clean throughout the process. Received several quotes, he was the most competitively priced, great comms, and he's local to Queen Creek. Outstanding quality and couldn't be happier. Before and after photos:

Strangely, my wife's review was in the non-recommended area. In any case, I've posted our bathroom photos, the workmanship speaks for itself.
Mike and his partner did all the tile work, plumbing, electrical and some touchup painting themselves, no subcontractors - with the exception of the glass shower wall/doors, which everyone subcontracts. Overall, we are VERY pleased with the outcome.
They were on time every single day and completed the project in just under the estimated time of two weeks. Would have finished even sooner, had the shower door people not needed about a week and a half after measuring (pretty standard - we had a different contractor do our other bathroom and it was a two week wait as well).
As said, a great job and we plan to call him about our kitchen, hopefully late this year, finances permitting.

We had some water damage which affected a door way. Door was sticking and very difficult to open and trim was peeling away. Alfredo came out and took a look at it and quickly fixed the issue. We were concerned the whole door would need to be pulled out and didn't know who to call. Alfredo was responsive and showed us it was a much simpler repair and took care of it quickly. We were happy to have such a quick fix!

I am not sure I can express in words how wonderful the experience and quality of work Craig on-site and Andrew in coordinating in operations . We installed an eco water treatment system, Kitchen water filtration system, and a routine repair on a bathroom sink. It was greeted promptly, with a quick visit to the house, an outline of options. Craig listened to what I said, researched something I had heard of, and produced it within a week even in the midst of COVID. While onsite on that project, he noticed an existing issue and potential problems developing with my water heater. No urgency on it just fact and possible issues. Again, my options were outlined in discussion as well as on the contract. We ended up purchasing an instant hot water heater system that has completely solved all of our water problems (running the water for 10 mins before it gets warm). All paperwork was completed electronically so quickly and easily. Then as a complete surprise, they sent me an Amazon gift card with a nice note of thanks! Who does that these days? You will NOT be sorry. You do not have to have a large project or the most expensive. Call them, what are you waiting for? Now to know they do electrical and remodeling work - wow! I'm in.

4 Stars for work
1 Star for reliability
Geremy installed floating wood shelves in the kitchen and did a good job. They're sturdy and look good, but could have been finished better in the end. Putty was left to dry and I had to have my handyman sand it all down as well as add more where there were some noticeable gaps at joints. I didn't ask Geremy come back to finish because it wasn't the end of the world to have to have someone else finish, it just would have been nice if he had completed the job himself. There was also an incident where he accidentally leaned against the stove knobs, turned on the burner and melted plastic on my brand new stove top that had never been used. It wasn't able to be cleaned up complete which is a bummer, but the worst part is he didn't tell me about it- I had to hear from my handman.
I hired him for a second job- a pergola over my back patio. After he rescheduled a couple of times and then didn't show up another one or two times, he finally came, but came so late in the day that he ran out of time and couldn't install my string lights. I went ahead and paid him the full amount for the job but I've never been able to get him to come back to finish the lights that he said he'd be back to hang the following day. After a lot of excuses, several texts and a phone call and continuing to tell me he'd come back to hang them, he still hasn't finished the job. I've been waiting since May 20th and now he isn't responding to my messages at all.
It's a shame because his work is good, but reliability and communication are terrible.

Michael was punctual, very thorough and knowledgeable. He fixed all of our squeaky door thresholds and a ballast in the laundry room. He provided us quotes on some other projects we need done. We highly recommend Michael!!

Ken Armstrong of Armstrong Innovations: FRAUD ALERT for custom kitchen and bathroom remodel. The old common contractor practice of fraud is alive and well, and I found it in Anthem, AZ. He's an underskilled laborer who took our money and hired another equally unskilled subcontractor, and together, they ruined all 3 of our expensive countertops. Ken's highly distracted and disorganized, and has enormous difficulty staying on any task, so he didn't, with us. He instead started something else, and never quite finished anything he started, but he had no problem asking for lots more money for his shoddy workmanship while overcharging by thousands. He kept and hid the receipts to himself, despite more than one request for them, leading to suspicion about his questionable business practices, since he already lied to us about his availability and about showing up for work, and he had covered the damaged wood he installed in our home with blue tape over it. He called this custom design. We would soon discover that we had legitimate reason to confirm our suspicion was true, and to fire him, to prevent further financial loss. It's no big deal not to show up for work, he said, with a childish, unprofessional excuse, representing the best of what I saw of his business acumen. He's excessively arrogant about what he does badly, and he did it all badly. From the brown water discharge from my new plumbing he installed, to the white tile he poorly grouted and failed to correct, to the stone flooring he discolored with his dirty sealant, to the damaged and scarred wood he installed, to the pocket door he hung wrong per installation instructions he didn't read, to the countertop fiasco with no one using published installation instructions, resulting in uneven and unlevel and unusable surfaces, and to all other numerous issues he created for himself, he blamed his blatant installation errors on everything else BUT himself, offering faulty logic for his costly shortcomings, never admitting he grossly misrepresented his capabilities, and himself as a reputable businessman. He walked off our job during his subcontractor's countertop installation, so he could bid on another project. I watched as no level and no measuring tape was used, resulting in a sloppy countertop I can't use because of gross height and leveling deficiencies. That's just crazy, he said, when I inquired about his need to measure the range for its custom height requirements in preparation for the countertop installation. Putting countertops on before putting cabinet doors on was one of his very bad judgments. Trust me, he said about his countertop subcontractor, whose last name and business card he withheld from us when asked, so that we could follow up with our Silestone 15 year warranty that we will never see that he failed to produce for us after we paid for the material and the installation. While he was hired to work with us, he was evasive and unavailable. He offered us whatever we asked for in our custom design, then told us he had lots of experience with it, then left us completely inconvenienced with poor attendance, poor quality work, and failing to honor his word of being available to us for his assistance with our custom project. He offered to spend some of his contracted time picking up and delivering our tub, toilets, and larger purchases for us, but, he left us to do it for ourselves. He said that he would help us with design ideas and specific material selections for our custom design, but didn't, then rudely blamed us for delaying him, leaving us hanging and causing us further delays, such that we had to ask for the face to face meeting with him in writing, that he refused. He refused to guarantee his work, and then insulted us before asking us for 4500 more dollars the next day. He made excuses for the 3940.00 problem he created with the countertops, then walked away from the project. Completely abandoned with no contact for over two weeks, he left us with poor workmanship and leaky plumbing and no cabinet doors. He cashed our 5000 dollar check without depositing any of it. When is Ken coming back from vacation? asked one of his subcontractors, during the time period he was given to fix the identified errors in our home, while time ticked away towards his given deadline. His lack of integrity and ability to follow through with his approaching deadlines describe his style. You deserve to know in advance that he doesn't make his own cabinet doors, but he never told us that until just before he abandoned the project, when we confronted him about his poor quality work and asked for that face to face meeting that he refused. This dog is not worth the filing fee to take to court, but I'd love to show a jury the pictures and video of what he thinks is good work. Underskilled, unethical, and blatantly dishonest is what we experienced. Countertop subcontractor works for business whose license is suspended by ROC.

We are so happy with the work that Mike and his team did in our kitchen. They matched the wood stain and built extra cabinets and also designed a few from scratch matching beautifully. We get compliments all the time, they were timely and very professional. After all was done we actually Had them return to resurface areas we hadn't thought about. Would gladly recommend and use them again

I called Aqua Therapy to get an estimate on a shower kit remodel. I talked with Derek, and he was extremely professional and sent over an estimate pretty quickly. After receiving the estimate, I called him to discuss what options would save money. He quickly sent me a new estimate and we scheduled a date for him to come out. The job came out perfect. I can definitely say that Derek is a man of his word, his reliability and service were well above par. His costs were in-line with what was quoted. I am planning to hire him for my next shower remodel.

I just wrapped up my 3rd job with JM Contracting and we couldn't be happier!!! The first job Josh (owner) did for me was our back patio roof. We discussed a drainage issue and out of all of the other bids I obtained and telling them all the same issue, Josh was the ONLY one that suggested we get an architect/engineer to address the problem. He naturally got my bid! Josh got on top of the drainage issue and once the engineer/architect (Quincy) did his calculations, pictures, etc. we came up with a solution. Josh was able to do the entire job, also addressing an issue with my sagging roof that was putting all its weight on my french door lintels which required shoring it up and stabilizing it, he stayed just outside of our original budget.
We have had NO problems with drainage since and that has saved my master bedroom floor!
Josh remodeled my master bathroom and my father's bathroom within the past 4 months as well. The outcome is stellar!!! Our bathrooms now look like they came right off of HGTV! No kidding! I highly recommend JM Contracting for all your contracting jobs. Josh is great to work with, his team (including his subs) are spot on too. Josh oversees everything and he is a total prefectionist...a keen eye for detail and making sure it looks 110% perfect! Thanks Josh for such great work! We will be using him for our next remodel of our kitchen and our pool decking too!

Review of Todd Whittaker Drywall (known as TWD) Remodel completed 6/8/22
I have always researched and ensured that all contractors that perform work in our home are licensed, bonded and insured plus I read their customer reviews. Their website TWD and credentials were very impressive. Everything checked out especially the 344 reviews with 5 stars on customerlobby.com; 4 stars on yelp, 27 reviews; with others rating 4.3-4.8 appeared to be a good choice since there were other quotes we received as well and other contractors that were not professional.
Our remodel of our small guest bath of 8x8 or 64 square feet was expensive with a cost of $22,541.81 or $352.21 per square feet. Contract signed 11/2021 all owner supplied guest bath fixtures were received months earlier. The biggest problem with this remodel was the new Oakcraft Cabinet/vanity which is manufactured in Peoria, AZ an 18-minute drive or 13 miles from TWD's office.
During this whole construction process and being, an owner of an established corporation (TWD) we felt not important which was conveyed through the owner. Our expectations were higher thinking that an owner would be pro-active since we paid an exorbitant $22k price tag for this remodel. Constructive feedback: when customer concerns were delegated out to a Manager, as an owner of a company take an interest and if a customer has a concern be there for them, good, bad or indifferent; don't delegate it out to one of your Managers to deal with it. Also, don't get into a heated conversation with the customer when there is frustration on the customer's part. Physically being at the job site periodically and verbal communication is key, not an email or text or to then hear from another Manager if this were to have happened I would not be writing this type of review.
I had a text confirmation on 3/15/22 from Todd Whittaker and he reconfirmed that the vanity/cabinet was received and was 100% in perfect condition. I was informed that another vanity from Oakcraft had quality control issues in February 2022 and was rejected by TWD. We found out 6 weeks later on 4/25/22 the date of install that the new vanity was not perfect that the right side of the vanity (facing out) was missing the veneer, the left side also did not have a veneer, but was against the wall. When you pay over $3000.00 for a new vanity and linen cabinet and have missing veneers on a custom order we viewed this as unacceptable. We were told this was standard in the industry or the price would be higher. It is surprising to us especially when you go to Lowes or Build.com to buy a vanity it has all 3 sides completed.
It took over 1 month to get that right side veneer to the vanity if my husband didn't intervene and go directly to Oakcraft in Peoria, AZ on 5/31/22 and physically speak to Charles Bearman, Director of Sales, Marketing and Field Operations we would still be waiting for this right veneer piece. At our request the General Manager finally went to OakCraft to pick it up on 6/8/22 which completed the remodel. Here we are blaming Oakcraft the whole time, but each time TWD was ordering the wrong dimensions for the vanity veneer. There was always an explanation, human error that can happen once, not two, or three times, please be accountable and get to the bottom of the problem TWD kept informing us that Oakcraft is working on it as fast as they can.
We have already used TWD warranty as of 9/2022 due the shower curbing and water pooling on the tile ledge and the floor, this warranty work has concluded.
The bathroom is nice, but after this process and frustration we endured for this $22k guest bathroom, with TWD we will not be using his/their services for anything else we do in our home, customer be aware this could happen to you!
