We came across XLT Construction through the Home Advisor website. They have excellent reviews, other websites do, as well as the few on Yelp. Based on other reviews, we decided to go with them. While I'm certain they have hundreds of satisfied customers, unfortunately we are not one of them.
We hired XLT Construction Inc. to remodel our children's upstairs small bathroom and the initial estimate was competitive. Leonel was helpful in picking out plumbing parts (non-diverter tub spout, wall diverter, on/off valve & trim) needed two weeks in advance of the project. He stated that all the plumbing parts will be ordered and be ready prior to the start date. On the first day of the remodel, the workers did not have the parts with them, and we had to explain to them the three exact parts needed. Since Leonel didn't order the parts ahead of time, we couldn't get the designer tub spout we wanted in time.
They installed the decorative tile and grout the same day and ended up making the tiles uneven. We had to make them do it a second time. The second time, they did it right. See photos.
The workers' carelessness while working on plumbing caused smelly water to leak thru to kitchen ceiling downstairs and affected the base of new vanity wood panel that they just installed! The workers initially offered to paint over the ceiling, but I insisted they cut and replace the ceiling's dry wall as it left obvious stains. See photos.
Some welding had to be done outside the house and we now have permanent stains in the driveway. The worker asked for detergent and made an attempt to clean it, but the spots are still there. See photo.
After install of the new sink and cabinets, they did the plumbing. They tested them and said everything was fine. After they were gone, we did our own tests on both sinks, and both had leaks. At this point, we had enough of his workers and told Leonel we'll get someone else to fix the leaks. The workers contacted us and said they'd come back and work on it a second time. When they worked the right side sink, they changed one pipe part. Since they didn't have it in black, they installed a white component!? The left sink leak wasn't properly fixed the second time too, so in the end, the other guy decided to use pipe cement and made the pipe joints permanent?! Any adjustments to the pipes in the future requires cutting of pipe instead of simple removal, all done without informing me. I would have said NO to the pipe cement. We informed Leonel we'd get back to him after using the new bathroom for a couple of weeks. As of now, we still have a slow leak under the right sink. At this point, we are debating whether to let them come back and try again, or hire someone else since they already have tried twice to fix the right sink. See photos.
There were some discrepancies between the estimates and actual work needed; area needed to be tiled was more than stated in estimate; pricing of the decorative tiles would have been cheaper had I bought it myself. Before signing the contract Leonel said he would produce receipts at the end of the job. When I asked to see receipts, Leonel refused and told me there is no lowering of tile pricing. He stormed out of my house, slammed the door and drove away quickly; that was very unprofessional and rude in my opinion.
We then realized that when I had signed off on the first estimate on Leonel's iPad, the 2nd and 3rd adjusted estimate had my initial digital signature on all of them. Apparently, my digital signature was captured on Leonel's iPad and he was able to duplicate it on other paperwork that I didn't sign for.
On many websites its obvious XLT Construction has many positive reviews, however, our experience was a very frustrating and disappointing one.

White Builder - Ellen and her team are fantastic! The team that they have are professional, talented, and really care about your project. Our kitchen remodel was a challenge, but they met it head on and worked their magic- it's beautiful. They take pride in the work they do and it shows. Highly recommend them and we'll be using them again in the future - amazing!

We were in the middle of a tragic bathroom remodel in which the previous contractor took the money and left. We had previously received a quote from Ellen and after coincidentally running into her we asked if she could help. She was willing to help even after we did not choose her for the job due to the competing quote being a little cheaper.
She and her team came in and repaired many errors that the previous contractor made. They did a phenomenal job and we are thrilled with the way that our bathroom came out in the end. Her team showed up when promised and worked very carefully and precisely. They did not leave a mess as the previous contractor did.
I recommend White Builder for any project that you have in mind, keep in mind that many parts are delayed beyond any contractors control at this point. (it took almost 3 months to get a bathtub).
Ellen is great to work with And keeps you informed of any setbacks or unforeseen changes throughout the process. Her team is great to work with and we thank them for fixing the absolute mess that the previous contractor got us into.

Chris was good for showing examples and help in ordering our quartz countertop. The price was for a complete installation. Next a man came out and laid out a template of the countertop. The day of installation was great. They came took out the old and installed the new top. They cut out for the sink. The plumbers came , this was bad . We had a leak. They came back 5 times and couldn't find it. I wrapped baggies on the lines and found it for them.
Next the back splash installer, Henry couldn't speak English and Caesar left him with us. He ran out of grout supplied by Diamond Granite. I rent to Home Depot and bought more since no one could be raised at Diamond Granite. Rachael called back 2 days later that our contract was for one bag, I told her a whole bag was not delivered. She said the grout was on me.
It was minor but between leaks and non English speaking tilers, and short material I can only rank them 2 stars.

Where do I start. Horrible Horrible work. They were hired to do a complete gut in an older house. This was a big job and the remodel was to many of the rooms. I have some building experience so I checked their work as they went, and some of what I found was very scary. First, the electrical work was not done to code. A kitchen island was wired with 15 ga. wire to a 20A breaker. Other outlets were wired the cheapest way, but not as code required. The water faucets used were cheap faucets from China, and many started leaking soon after they finished. The tile floor was not put in level in some places and the grout has cracked in many areas. The tile work in some areas is not straight, other title work is good, but it just depends on who did the work. Some of their workers dis a good job, while others did a horrible job.
Few of the workers spoke English, and worse, they had very little respect for our front or back yards. Nightly we had to pick up all the trash they left, and their fast food wrappers from their lunch would often blow into the neighbor's yards. The granite had some problems, and the cabinets, while the installer did a good job, were cheap, and hinges and hardware broke months after.
I guess I could go on and on, but if you are looking for consistently high quality work, you won't find it here. They use unlicensed tradespeople, who are often rushed to get the job completed as quickly as possible, and the final job shows it.
Today I will be replacing their junky faucets that last 6 months at best. My advice is pay slightly more and get a quality job. Otherwise, you WILL be sorry.

Although I hesitate to write this review, I think it's important for others to know, as I looked at reviews when choosing a company. Initially, I was very pleased with the service from Diamond. I spoke with an associate and felt like he could really tell what I was looking for and I scheduled an appt for him to come out to measure and draw up a kitchen design for me for cabinets (counter tops to follow). At the end of the appt (on a thursday), he said "give me until early next week to get you a quote". I expressed that we were under a tight timeline, but that it was no problem. By mid to the end of the next week, I started following up, looking for the quote, as I was trying to get cabinets ordered when I had my brother in law in town to install them. All of a sudden, it became one excuse after another. Initially, it was "oh yes, I haven't forgotten about you - will get you something", even though it was a week after we had met and several days past the deadline he had set for himself. No mention of the fact that he had told me one thing and wasn't delivering. Then it was "oh, i'm having computer troubles", then it was "I'll try to get something to you by ____ date", then it was, "I'm going to be in the office tomorrow at 2:30". Listen - I'm in sales too. If you are busy or can't get something done, just tell me! Don't keep giving me timelines that you can't hold up to. After the last excuse, I stopped following up and he just never got back to me and COMPLETELY blew me off. I never got the quote he promised and spent over an hour working on at my house and never heard from him again. Meanwhile, that took up over 2 weeks of my already super tight timeline, I had to start the whole process over again with another (FAR BETTER) company, and I wasn't able to get my cabinets when I had extra help to install them. Long story short - I would absolutely not trust this company to do any work for me or my clients, based on the experience I had with them.

Leonel came out for an estimate yesterday to replace all the tile on my first floor, about 1100 SF. He was fair, honest, thorough, friendly and professional. He explained all aspects of the job and gave me a detailed estimate on the spot. He may even have me talked into redoing my Master Bath! Now off to the bank for the home improvement loan!

Ellen and her team are amazing! We had started our master bathroom renovation with a different contractor who we quickly found out was totally incompetent! They demolished our entire bathroom and we were stuck with no bathroom. We called Ellen at white builder and she swooped in to save the day. She communicates well, has wonderful design ideas and her staff is 100% respectful of your house and tries to keep the construction as clean as possible. I have already recommended Ellen to other friends and they have used her too. I would absolutely use Ellen again for any construction needs.
