Best Deck Remodeling in Phoenix AZ

My girlfriend and I used VETSBuilt to renovate our house after refinancing our house. We were so excited for the house to have a makeover and truly be turned into a home for our family. My girlfriend is a retired combat medic for the army so we were even more excited to use a veteran run company. I would like to warn those of you looking to use this company against it. Our house is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but there were so many mistakes, short cuts, and then there is the fact that there is no warranty on the work.                              -Before beginning the renovation I has asked Bob if I should patch the holes in the house and remove all of the nails/tacks/staples/etc. He had told me not to worry and that the painters would take care of it. The painters failed to remove those items and I know have the pleasure of continuing to remove them and repaint where they were. The holes were patched in a rushed manner. When the sun hits the patches just right, you can see where the left over spackle was smeared over the walls and the hole. Then there is the clean up for the painters. They left paint over numerous light fixtures, baseboards, the new floor, and the ceiling.                     -We originally wanted to get cabinets from Home Depot and had picked out the design and received a quote. Bob told us that his cabinet guy was the best. This was not true. The cabinet guy, his name is Jaime, was far from the best. After having sat down with both Bob and Jaime to design the cabinets, as Bob told us the ones we wanted from Home Depot were no good, the cabinets were designed ENTIRELY wrong. The design was similar to the old cabinetry that we were tossing. We informed Bob, who had told us he remembered the design we chose and agreed the ones built were not what we were paying for. The cabinets were never replaced and we received $500 off for something we didn't want. There were further issues with the cabinets when Bob failed to communicate with his guy that we were no longer able to afford a new vanity for our master bathroom. We had told him we didn't want the vanity but Bob had arranged a deal with Jaime that we could keep this vanity for free...another way to make up for the entire kitchen being done wrong. The vanity was also designed wrong, the drawers require so much force to be opened that most of the time you end up whacking yourself in the leg or crotch. I told Bob this too, and despite him also having difficulties opening the drawers and him watching me attempt to open the drawer and having it hit me in the crotch, he said it would be okay over time. To this very day, I still hit myself. The hinges used by the cabinet guy were put on in a rushed manner, Bob claimed that clients make his guy nervous (we were never in the house when he was here) and one of the cabinet doors is beginning to fall off the hinge. Bob did make an attempt to have Jaime fix the spice rack and the missing stain on the island cabinetry. However, when Jaime arrived he had stated Bob never told him about needing to bring stain to finish the island, I texted Bob right there on the spot and he told me that Jaime doesn't understand English very well so he must not have known what he was talking about.                                 -The floor we had put in began to pop up after Bob's crew left. Bob had the floor installed by someone now well versed in the type of floor we were putting in, the subfloor was uneven and despite putting down the moisture barrier pad, it didn't help - there are spots that sag and where the boards pop. The company we wanted to use would have leveled the sub floor and saved us the hassle of continuously bouncing as we walk through the house. Bob did the measurements for the house to determine how much of the flooring we needed to purchase. He measured wrong every time. I believe we had to make 2 extra trips to the store to get more flooring...which wasn't in the budget. This just seems like a rookie mistake for a contractor. And it was costly.                                                        -We had the master bathroom renovated. The crew Bob used for this portion was very nice. Other than cleaning their equipment down the shower drain and toilet, their tile work looks and is amazing. No flaws! The shower that Bob had done for us is beautiful, but leaks. The joints where the glass meet have not been sealed properly and water spills out onto the floor in a large puddle.                                                                 Like I said, we had huge hopes for our experience and partnership with this company. And it fell short. All of the issues listed above were addressed with Bob directly. Unfortunately, while he talks to you about wanting things to be perfect, and how he understands wanting things done right because you're paying for it - its a lie. We recently moved into our new Toll Brothers home and had a challenging time looking for a good contractor that will design my entertainment wall at a reasonable and fair price.  With the recent challenges we all face with contractors taking advantage of price spikes, and long wait time for a project to begin, Canterra Construction beat the competitor's reliability and price!  Initially, I contracted for an entertainment wall design with them.  Cathy took it to a personal level in designing my wall and brought samples of stones and tiles.  She factored in my interior designs, colors, and furniture to select the best.  And wow, my husband and I are so amazed with the professionalism, reliability, designs, and the material used for our wall that it became one of the wow factors of my home!  Because of this company's professionalism and awesome work, I continued to contract them for my back and front yard.  Again, Cathy understood our goal.  She uniquely put together another great design at an affordable price.  Next contract is for accent walls and designs for all my rooms.  I am excited for this project. Cathy, and her crew  respect my property, are very friendly, professional and accommodating.  I like how Canterra Construction acknowledges my husband and I for being a Veteran.  Above all, Cathy is very responsive which is the pinnacle of a successful business.  Look no further, they do it all at an affordable budget.  Now, I can say that my Toll Brothers home added more beauty and value to it, thanks to the hard work of Canterra Construction crews!  Thank you so much,for turning my newly designed home into a dream come true!!

I needed a new contractor to do some renovations on our new home so we turned to Yelp and and found shepherd contracting. We used Thomas and his team when my new home needed some updating. The communication was above and beyond. We love our new bathrooms and will post updated photos soon!

Best contractor experience EVER.

I had been planning some major upgrades -- kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lights, ceiling fans -- for several months. When it became time to get serious, I hired Alex Gordon of Gordon Enterprises Contracting.

Alex transformed the house from woof! to wow! He stayed within budget and amazingly on-time despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He and his team genuinely care about workmanship and quality of materials. The company is responsive to questions and special requests, plus Alex brings excellent suggestions with him.

My one mistake is that I had another company do the interior painting. This threw a wrench into Alex's timeline, and I won't make that same mistake twice. Gordon Enterprise can do it all, and I should have let them.

Alex will be the first to tell you that they're not perfect, but I'll tell you that they're excellent.

Consider yourself lucky if you get the opportunity to work with Keith and Roger! From minute one you could tell the team was honest and only concerned with helping you achieve your goals. Keith our lead was knowledgable and happy to guide us, he gave me advice along the way that saved us a ton of money!

The bid was beyond reasonable given the current market - we were blown away - hands down best contractor experience I have ever had!

DJ is absolutely amazing!!! He is very professional, organized, up front about all the costs and very efficient. From start to finish, it was very smooth and stress free. I was very impressed with how everything was presented to me, and even more impressed with his efficiency. I had a major kitchen remodel completed in less than 30 days. DJ and his wife Nancy are very nice people and easy to work with. Makes me so happy I found them. They took all the time to answer any questions and made any edits to the original drawing as needed. I remodeled my master bathroom and chose Peak One Builders & Restoration as the General Contractor. They are members of my dream team. I like everything about Peak One - I like their story, their people, and their commitment to quality. The owner, Mike Christensen, was very detailed in his bid. He had more answers than I had questions! The Project Manager, Lee Ellis, could not have been better. Lee provided a project schedule and plenty of updates throughout the project. He scheduled meetings at my convenience and was always on time. I can't say enough about the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and their professionalism and trustworthiness.

I think the true test is how I feel about Peak One now that the project is done. The remodeled bathroom is beautiful! They have followed up on every punch-list item. I am very happy with the project, I have recommended them to friends, and they are at the top of my list for the next project.

Had a motor go out mid summer.  Called Blue Dot on a referral from my church group.  Came out next day, price was more than fair.  Disaster averted.  Thanks guys, my kids are grateful we got it replaced before it turned green.  By the way, I need a quote on a pebbletec surface before next summer.

We needed an oven installed and Tatum was beyond superior. I was timid to request this service, seeing that they do new construction. But I took the chance and asked. They were more than happy to help us. I HIGHLY recommend!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

Joel and his son came to the rescue! We moved in to our new home in January and while I'm in love with pretty much everything about it, the uneven roof lining along the peak of our house had bothered me since day 1. The seller denied fixing it in our inspection period, so it was on my *lengthy* list of move-in to-dos.

I found AZ Studs, Carpentry, and Remodeling on Yelp and gave them a call! Joel called me back within an hour, willing to come over and take a look that day. Now friends, this is a very minor job compared to their full remodels but he was willing to help put my type A mind at ease. He installed a wooden piece along the base of the peak to make it nice and straight. Yayyyy!! I'm so happy. It has literally bothered me every day since move-in ( I AM CRAZY) and I'm so grateful that he was willing to take the time out of his *very busy* schedule to do this super tiny, 45 minute job for me.

I will definitely be calling Joel and his son (love the father/son team) back when we do future projects on our home. Can't thank them enough!

Stan did a great job with putting up our Courtyard lights. Had a great sense of what we wanted he was knowledgeable and professional. I'll hire for anything I need done home improvement wise.

Dave & Mario are true craftsmen that know their trade very well! They are completely reliable and trustworthy. They have done 2 major home remodels for us consisting of kitchen, bath, tile, flooring, general structural work, plumbing, electrical, heating and air duct work. We are thrilled with the finished products! They have been in this business for decades and have great working relationships with many sources that were very beneficial to completing our projects.  They were able to advise and guide us along the way. They were completely reliable to do everything they said, in the timeframe stated, at competitive prices. They worked hard to get each task completed with quality craftsmanship. Through both of the remodels they handled themselves professionally and cheerfully. We enjoyed working with them and they were great with our dogs!  We fully recommend American General Contracting for any new construction or remodeling!

Brad has done 2 projects for us, he built a Casita on our residential property.  We had been working with another contractor that had drug their feet and Brad and his team came in and got the job done quickly, during the beginning of the COVID issue.  He really came through for us.
The second was a commercial project, he remodeled our office, at our business in Chandler.  We had a quick deadline to get it done and they did an amazing job, excellent price and it was done on time.

Giving this company this rating since one of the trucks (with a male driver) tried to run me + kids off the on ramp to the 101, rather than let us on. Not exactly the kind of company I'd welcome into my home.

I contacted Geremey due to an aging roof that was in desperate need of repair. I contacted 3 different companies, all who wanted me to wait for a few weeks just for them to come out. With the rain we've had, I couldn't wait that long. Geremey was very responsive and understood my needs. He came out that afternoon and had the job done quicker than I anticipated.
