I have been working in the biohazard remediation industry (aka: crime scene clean up) for going on 10 years. It is not uncommon for me to have jobs where a person has passed away in their home or apartment and gone undiscovered for several days, weeks and (believe it or not) even months. The smells can be horrendous and often are the worst factor. I say worst because under these circumstances there is really one option and that is to practically gut the interior and start with new materials-- new drywall (very worst case), fresh coat of primer/paint on both walls and ceiling, R&R any carpet, etc...
I stumbled upon Michael and Smell Fresh AZ by chance on Craigslist of all places. After reading his ad, I knew right away this guy knew what he was talking about. I was intrigued to say the least. I contacted him first just to introduce myself, tell him a little about my own business. A few weeks later I had a job in Wickenburg, AZ where the homeowner had passed away of natural causes and was not found for nearly four weeks. The body was in late stages of decomposition in the master bedroom. While I have used ozone for years and do own my own generators, I knew this would be a chance for me to put Smell Fresh to the test. Not to mention the fact that due to it being summertime and warm temps outside (did I mention the fact that there was no A/C on in the home the entire time the body was there? fyi: this accelerates the rate of decomposition drastically) Let's just say, I knew I could use all the help I could get on this particular property trying to restore it to pre-incident state. To make a long story short, I contacted Michael and explained the situation. While I could hear slight apprehension in his voice (not sure if this was due to the Wickenburg location/travel distance ...or the idea of a decomposing corpse) he agreed to take the job on. Two days later, after I'd had opportunity to tackle the removal and decon of the really messy stuff, he went out and worked his magic. I can now say I am a true believer in this guys product/pitch!
