Fred at American Ace Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning was recommended to us through our Nextdoor community.  Fred had many positive reviews on Yelp.  We called him for help with our furnace problem.  Fred came out to our place with his associate (I was not there so my wife and in-laws met with Fred) and troubleshooted the problem for a half hour.  

The furnace operated normally that whole time so based on a description of the issue Fred suggested possibly changing out the thermostat.  I grabbed a new thermostat from HD on my way home that night and installed it when I got home.  

More importantly, Fred said to observe the red LED light on the front of the furnace and if it starts blinking refer to the furnace codes on the big sticker on the front of the furnace.  Under normal operation, it will be solid red.  If there is a problem, it will blink a series of slow and fast blinks (or vice versa).  Count them and compare to the list on the furnace sticker. It was a problem with the flame sensor.  I looked up how to clean a flame sensor on Youtube and fixed it with a dollar bill.  It has been running fine since then.  

AND, Fred did not charge us anything for his half hour in-person visit and assisted us in troubleshooting it ourselves.  We plan to send him some money for his time and travel costs.  

I would not recommend doing any work yourself unless you are completely comfortable working with furnaces.  Call a professional.  Call Fred! :)

Had THA come out and give us an estimate for a 3 zone new AC system with a double compressor to replace our old AC system.  They were courteous and professional.  They finished on time and on budget.  Our energy bills went down immediately!

Contacted Anderson to get a quote on a commercial sink installation. Received a prompt, helpful response. The technician they sent on-site (Ron) was solid gold and, even though the quote process is still on-going, the customer service alone was enough to warrant a review. Ron was thorough, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Very much looking forward to getting a quote and determining whether to move forward.

I was simply appalled by the outrageous pricing quoted by these guys.  The company states that they work on an up-front pricing model, and will not quote a base hourly rate.  However, when I asked the technician who visited our house, he stated that their hourly rate was over $150/hr.  This made sense because the pricing they quoted (like $140+ just to change a toilet flap gasket) was just astronomical.  

No wonder they charge a minimum fee of $42 for an estimate.  Charging this much for the estimate is a dubious practice with pricing so far above the rest of the market.  

For comparison, I identified another plumber with comparable ratings for less than half of their quoted prices.  I was extremely satisfied with our results.

The Anderson technician was pleasant and the truck was clean and well stocked, but you're definitely paying a premium for their aggressive marketing.

I would strongly encourage to shop for a plumber who gives free estimates first before committing to Anderson's fee-first then up-front, but ridiculous pricing.
