Best HVAC System Repair in Virginia Beach VA
Of course the AC breaks when my husband is not here! Mrs. Dodd was so helpful when I called. She walked me through some things on the phone just to make sure it wasn't a breaker or something simple. Mr. Dodd arrived on time, prepared and very knowledgeable. He had exactly what we needed. Very fair and accommodating on a hot Saturday. Exactly the personal service I was looking for from a small business. We will use them again and I highly recommend.

This company is a rip off, charge double the price of other plumbers that are qualified to do the same work.

Jethro Byrd is a longtime plumbing co some might say historical, lol.
Their work is good, they keep appointments, get work done on time and clean up after themselves.
The crew is very hard working. prices are fair, not cheap but not gouging either, i.e. taking advantage of the recent weather situation.
The techs are very polite and explain what's going on to even your grandma, lol.
Would hire again.

Back in February we called A1 American to get a new HVAC or heat pump system, it cost us $3200.00. The technicians name that came is Adam. To make matters worse he never seemed to show up when he said that he would. He always ran from 1-2 hours late. It is now May and now the AC unit went and it is not working at all. The Goodman heat pump that he installed, upon inspection from another company, showed us the various faults with the installation. First off, he did not use the proper size tube lining, it is supposed to be 3/8 and ours is not. It is also leaking in three different spots, and only has one locking cap instead of 3, which makes it very easy for someone to steal the freon from the unit. The other company that we hired to do the AC unit came out today and said that Adam had sold us the wrong size HVAC unit and that he knowingly did so because the HVAC unit was to powerful for our AC unit to handle, which made our AC unit break. Also because the unit is not installed properly, it voided our warranty with Goodman to get another uint. For everything to be fixed the proper way, it is going to cost well over $5000.00. It is also believed that they did not have a permit for the work that they did, if the city of Virginia Beach were to inspect the work, Adam would have never been allowed to install the unit due to the fact that he used the wrong line size. It is discusting what this company did to us. They claim to be an all american company who cares, they knowingly scammed a sailor whos very job is to protect this country that we live in so safely. Please help us in letting the public know that this company does not stand behind their work. We tried to contact A1 American in which they do not want to respond to us. Besides calling and asking to speak with a supervisor, we have tried to post on their facebook wall resulting in our posts and pictures of the unit leaking being deleted.

Initially, I was excited when Brandon came to my home to diagnose my AC unit. It went sour when I verified his information about a brand he recommended as economical but reliable and sturdy. Long -short, the brand was subpar (cheap-not rated by any reputable consumer outlets). Next, I told him I wanted a new unit but a specific brand. A couple days passed without feedback so I moved on. This is a new company with a young owner but promising with a bright future.

We were referred by Home Advisor. A tech came to our Pungo area home and was not comfortable working outside due to bumblebees and dragonflies and plants. He wanted me to cut a swath of plants away from the hvac unit so the plants did not touch him. This is a new request in our experience with home technicians.
Nonetheless, he wanted to run a diagnostic in order to charge the service call fee. He diagnosed that the unit had a freon leak. I said it was covered by a Goodman warranty. He said the search for the leak would not be covered and would cost $800 and we should go with someone else.
Later I learned, from another company, that any company can do warranty work. He apparently did not want to.
We suffered in the heat until we found Atlantic Coastal hvac. They came out and the cost of the repair was only the service call. $69. It was just a loose wire. There was no leak in the freon system. We are now in the process of going after the $75 service call fee that Bell Cow charged, since it lead to no service and produced an erroneous diagnosis and needless suffering for us. Bell Cow has not been responsive, so we started the process through Home Advisor.

This guy is very rude and a rip off artist. He charged me $700 for changing a fan capacitor in my A/C and replaced the wire ends that hooked to it, he charged me for a bunch of stuff he didn't do, and I had to have another company come out and rework his work where he used the wrong wire connectors and the A/C only worked two days before the wire connectors he used fell off. Then he had 100 excuses why he doesn't guarantee his work. Don't trust anything this guy says . He should not be allowed to touch anything on an A/C. He could have burnt down my house. He is just looking to gouge who ever he does work for, BEWARE!!!!!.
