Best Water Heater Repair in Seattle WA

We called Green Planet to have our 40-gallon gas water heater replaced. The work they did looks good and I haven't experienced any issues, however I found their pricing to be $500-600 more than I would have expected for the job.

Based on asking friends/co-workers on their replacement costs most ran between $1000-1300 (for normal tank replacement). When we called Green Planet we were told over the phone it would be around $1000 which was inline with my expectations. However after the installer showed up the quote was $1500 for the tank/install. Plus he recommended replacing the small pressure tank on the top for around $200. So total price was $1700 and after tax just over $1800.

When we questioned the difference between his quote and the phone quote he said they were likely talking about just tank costs.  Looking up the Rheem prog40s-38n rh62 model tank they installed it appears to cost around $600, so their labor install cost was about $900.  This is in a 10-year old house with the tank in the garage, so there weren't any complications or modernizations that needed to happen, just a basic swap of the tanks and configuration.

So if I would summarize my experience. It would be they do quality work, but seem to charge much higher than average.

Very highly recommended.  Bill was recommended by a well reviewed appliance repair company I've also used, and I would recommend to anyone in his service area.  His office let me know an hour in advance that he was running slightly behind for our 9am appointment.  He did great work on 2 items, very efficient and fairly priced.  Some companies are hit and miss depending on who you get, but as a sole proprietorship you can rely on Bill showing up himself and doing a great job at a fair price.

unprofessional BS artist. No quote, no results, and got pissy when I questioned his progress. paid $1000 for a hole in my yard. He said he'd do a waterline replacement and apply the grand toward that. I asked him to put it in writing and then talk. Never heard from him again. Fast talkier.
His guy Andy, who did the work, is a nice guy.

After Hours Services responded within 10 minutes to a request for a quote for replacing a busted garbage disposal and sink hose. Within 20 minutes, Will had an appointment time for me the next day and an estimate for the service. He showed up on time with advance notice, got the job done, and was very friendly with reasonable prices. Everything you can hope for when working with a plumber! I wouldn't hesitate to hire After Hours Services again.

I'm a union-trained commercial plumber who started my own residential plumbing business around the same time Erik started his.  He had been my foreman during my apprenticeship.  Whenever I have overflow work, I send it to Erik.  He's honest as the day is long, charges less than I would, and super competent, as are his people.  Erik has my respect. Call him.

Tech City Plumbing has proven to be a great referral.  Our kitchen sink hose had a leak and needed to be replaced.  Since it was under warranty we were able to get the part delivered and just needed someone to install it.  While this sounds like a simple task, I can tell you from past experience that sometimes when working with someone the hardest part is simply getting them to take a call, getting back to you, and showing up.  I was surprised on how easy it was to get ahold of Tim and that when on the call he actually took the time to listen and asses the situation.  Given we are in a condo and we didn't want to have an unfortunate leak into our neighbors unit below he was very helpful in being available the day the part arrived.  I am very happy with the service Tech City provided and while I hope I don't need to use them anytime soon, I won't hesitate when I do.

Had these guys out for service before and while a bit expensive they got the job done. Called them again today for a quote to replace part of my main sewer line and they had no record of doing business with me. OK, told the gal on the phone the issue was currently happening and if they could get someone out ASAP they would get my business.

Guy comes out and says he can't give me a quote because the issue is currently happening and wanted to charge me 250 dollars to clear it for the quote. So much for a free estimate. I made it very clear the issue was happening over the phone to the gal and she even called the guy and called me back to try and make it same day.

Called the office back to express my u happiness with wasting their guys time and mine and she acted like it was no big deal.

Very poor customer service.

I was really impressed with their work. They came in and did everything really fast and cost efficiently. I had an older toilet replaced, the kitchen faucet, and also a bathroom faucet. They came on time, came in and did the work, and got out fast. Everything is working great, and I was impressed with both the quality of the communication, their ability of fix anything they ran into (one of the sinks had an old, non-standard hookup that they worked around). All in all, I was really happy with the results and would hire them again :)

Zach and trainee Matthew we able to squeeze me in urgently for a clogged kitchen sink. They were professional and  courteous. Booties and floor covering on the house while working.  They explained the plan and process for what they thought might  be wrong. Gave suggestions on how to avoid same issues in the future. They were  recommended to me by another plumber that wasn't available at the time.  That speak volumes. Would use again and highly recommend.

2 sons are our go to plumbers, they are extremely efficient and instantly know what needs to be done. They have put in work on 2 occasions to fix poorly done plumbing in a house we just bought. Mike and his son easily repaired a poorly done drain and reattached our shower handle. Previously Alex was efficient and very helpful with our tub drain.

This is my second five star review of this business after having them come to my home for two separate issues. Was very impressed they were able to come out on short notice on Saturday afternoon and Ron was very helpful, explained things well and got the problem taken care of in an expeditious and cost effective manner.

I was very happy with Blake Plumbing's service and professionalism. They misdiagnosed my problem at first, but when I called back the owner Aron, called and took care of it right away without charging us. I would definitely recommend their services.

Super fast service! I needed a toilet and shower repair and top gun plumbing was able to come out the very next day. I was very happy with their service.

While installing a sprinkler system, the installer saw that the pipe coming from the meter into the home was a 1 metal pipe. We needed to install a T joint into the pipe so the installer could finish. Being a Sunday, it was challenging to locate a plumber. After searching on Nextdoor that Is how I came across Wezee. Joshua arrived when I was told, reviewed what was needed, quoted a fair price, and after some time, the job was completed. Can't say enough about the professional and knowledgeable way the job was handled. Well worth the call to Wezee for your plumbing needs.

We recently bought a home and noticed that the bath water in the upstairs master bath was slightly discolored, so we reached out to Otter Plumbing to see if they could pinpoint the issue. Working with Shane, he was able to diagnosis the problem pretty much over the phone with the help of some pictures of the water. His knowledge of the issue was spot on, the water heater, which was confirmed when Otter was able to come over the next day for a service call. They were very professional and arrived right on time for our agreed appointment. They confirmed the water heater was the issue and were able to quote us a very reasonable rate for a replacement compared to other companies we had looked at. The installation process was quick and the company did a fantastic job in verifying that the new water heater fixed the issue, and that we were satisfied with the quality of work. They cleaned up the area, better than when they started the job, and made sure all the old equipment was removed. All in all, we would defiantly use Shane and his team at Otter Plumbing again, and would recommend them to others.

Alex Mahdiani did excellent work. Was very professional and friendly. Would use this service again if I knew a plumber like Alex was coming to work on my house.

I called them yesterday about a sticky bathroom faucet I had - they gave me a flat price to replace it and showed up right on time the very next day.  Guy was super nice and professional, checked out the sink and went right to work.  Cleaned up after he was done - everything is perfect.  Price was very fair, service was very fast, and I didn't have to clean up anything.

Friendly and seems quite knowledgable, but cost seems high.
Company will not quote job guesstimate over phone which is understandable, but a ball park number would have been helpful.
With final cost around $2,500.00 I would have searched for additional bids.
