Best Electric Inspection in Minneapolis MN
My husband and I have used Hopke Sewer & Drain twice and both times were very impressed. The first time was in 2011 after we discovered we needed to replace our sewer system from the house to the street. The broken sewer line was a nightmare but Hopke took care of it quickly, they were on time, professional and answered all of our questions. Due to some legal issues with our sewer problem (city problem vs. homeowner problem), we fought city hall and won thanks to the detailed and conscientious report written by Hopke upon request.
The second time we used them was just this week to repair what we thought was going to be a big issue but instead, thanks to the knowledge of Hopke, we found out it was a minor fix that wouldn't lead to further damage.
On the other review the customer complained that their minimum fee was too high for small parts and minimal work. When you call a plumber/electrician/etc., you are paying for their knowledge, experience and ability in fixing your home. When someone knows a trade, they usually know something that you don't and they should be able to charge fairly for that. I definitely shopped around and found Hopke to be priced very well.

My house was experiencing slow to no drainage. I called S.O.S. because they had good reviews, and they sent someone out right away to check the situation. The plumber, Brad, showed up and for a very reasonable price set to work on snaking my main sewer line. While doing this job he encountered severe blockage, at which point he asked if I wanted him to throw a camera down the line for another $225. Sure enough, the line was blocked, but he wasn't able to get through it, and the camera wasn't able to help determine the cause. He went on to tell me my sewer line had probably collapsed and that I needed to contact an excavating company. So for $380 I still had a blocked sewer main, and now I was facing a potentially very expensive sewer replacement. Upon his advice, I called a few excavating companies....they all told me to get a second opinion. I did. For a third of the price the second plumber not only cleared the sewer main (which was blocked by roots, not collapsed), he also included the camera and was able to show me my drain was cleared. It just took a little effort on his part to grind up the roots that had grown in to one of the joints on my sewer main. Overall, I think this company is probably a good one (which is one of the reasons I chose them), but ultimately I didn't have a very good experience with them, and I feel I was overcharged for lazy work.

My 72 year old mother used their service to install a kitchen sink faucet that she supplied. Apparently they had to replace a shutoff valve as well. They charged her $994.29 to do the work. The only parts & materials they provided were the shutoff valve, maybe some plumbers tape and caulk. Basically they price gouged and took advantage of her.

Everyone at Neighborhood Plumbing were so helpful and kind. Micheal went above and beyond customer services. Very knowledgeable and taught me a few things regarding up keep as well as plumbing in general. Thank you both for an outstanding job well done.

I own a condo unit and contacted Lakes Areas because I had little heat being generated and very high energy bills. Lake Area offered to come out the same day I contacted them. After very thorough testing of my heat issue, they concluded that I needed to replace my heat pump unit (this is equivalent to a furnace in a house). I was charged $200 on the spot for the visit, of which I wasn't made aware of when making the appointment. They quoted me $13,390 for replacement of a heat pump and dry wall repair, a larger hole needed to be cut in the ceiling for installation. I was quoted HALF this amount by a second company and eventually found someone to do the work for ONE THIRD the cost. The markup by Lakes Area on just the heating unit itself was 89%! Also, none of the other companies charged me to come out and provide an estimate.
