Southern Cal Gas Co. detected a gas leak at my home on Friday, June 9th and advised I needed a plumber to come out.
On Saturday, 6/10/23 I notified HomeServe Insurane which is a third party insurance made available through the gas company for a monthyly fee.
They advised that they would find a plumber right way. HomeServe advised they had an appointmemt for Sunday 6/11/23 between 9am - 1pm. We confirmed the appointment.
Downey Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning Company sent a text message with every detail of the appt.
The technician Eric Valencia called Sunday morning advising me of his estimated time of arrival. As the tiime was approching I reieved another call from Eric with an updated arrival time. This was so appreciated.
When Eric arrived he identified himself, asked a few questions and immediately started assessing the problem. He was professional, knowledgable, respectful and worked very hard to make sure our gas leaks were detected. It was a huge job and he was able to answer every question I had during the process. 6+ hours later, the job was complete.
He even stayed until I notified the Gas Co that the problem was fixed and the turn on service was scheduled. I would not hesitate to use Downey Plumbing again. Just when I thought it was over, Eric called back and advised should the Gas Co have any questions or additional findings to give him a call.
What can I say. Eric you set the bar real high.

I thought I had seen the best of the best. After 30 years living in Newport I have had the pleasure of reviewing some of the finest service industry companies around. Electricians, roofers, bee busters, vent cleaning companies, etc. But last week when I came downstairs into the garage and saw a huge leak coming through the garage roof drywall, I panicked.
I thought this is it........the pipe burst, and I'm up the creek
First move was to check YELP, my go to source. The choice was easy.
CALL JUSTINTIME, Jim!! The response was immediate. And within an hour I had Bryan and Gunner at the door ready to take charge. Not only did the guys reassure me that they would fix the issue quickly, and with a minimum of expense (Bryan actually disclosed the price for a trip right up front and made sure I knew that if it ran over a few minutes, no problem) but what REALLY impressed me was that these two young men KNEW WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON. They could have told me it was a pipe. They could have told me a million things. But what they told me was the TRUE cause of the leak...........simply a loose shower pipe in the upstairs bathroom that was leaking water BEHIND the dry wall, slowly, and it had finally found it's way downstairs. A hole was cut in the garage roof, and after about an hour, and with a new pipe (that they had in the truck!!!) the issue was totally and completely solved. They guys EVEN CLEANED THE SHOWER FLOOR WITH CLEANSER! And they readjusted the shower head so that it would never again get loose.
They left me with a very small price to pay, and with a job so well done it cannot be ignored. SO...........Let me help you with this: If you EVER have a plumbing problem, call Justintime. Justintime. Write it down. Put a note on the fridge. These guys are honest, fast, and really know their stuff. Thank you Bryan AND Gunnar. You're the best of the best.
