Best HVAC Installation Or Replacement in Henderson NV
It should be called up sell air conditioning.
After listening to the constant AC commercials by Goettl, we decided to call them for a small repair. The repair went fine so we decided to get a year maintenance contract. Why not? The tech was nice enough, and it seemed like they really cared.
Here is the rub. Goettls only mission in life is to up sell services. Mainly by using scare tactics.
Here are a few examples.
When the tech first came to the home, after he finished fixing the issue, out came the services book. Immediately they started mowing around to see if Anyone in your house has asthma? You know the air quality in the Las Vegas Valley is very poor. We recommend the whole home air filtration system. It starts at $2,000.
Don't need that, well we do have Sunny the plumber as well, they'll come by and give your home a checkup to make sure you're ok? There they go again, creating selling opportunities by sending their plumbing company to tell you that your 1 year old house may already have bad pipes. Well the run there is that we didn't have any issues. Of course their plumber tell us that the everyday act of flushing toilet paper down the toilet will damage the pipes. What a load of crap... pardon the pun.
It goes on from there. Then came the water filtration system up-sell. We just had one installed, but guess what that one was not good enough according to their sales guy. The water quality is bad in the valley, the one you purchased doesn't filter x and y. We have one for another $2,000 that will filter those chemicals out... think of the children!
Point is their entire sales strategy is based on scare tactics. Your kids will die if you don't buy our stuff! Your AC will break within a week because a certain part only has 30% life left. On what criteria? The reason we called you was not because of that part, but guess what that part all of a sudden is about to go down in a 1 year old unit. So I got a quote. The quote was 300% more than the quote I was given by the contractor that originally installed the AC. Furthermore, the original contractor game out and said that the part was brand new and would easily last another 7-10 years.
Don't fall for the well produced commercials. The strategy is to scare you into buying unnecessary parts and service.
BTW we never got our money back for the $300 service contract we cancelled. They can keep it. We will in turn give them $3000 worth of truthful reviews on any site we can post a review.
