I would give Goettl ZERO stars if I could.
Only reason I would give them even one star is because their technicians are very courteous, professional and have shown great customer service.
I purchased a Rejuvenation package that they boast about on all of their ads. This comes with two parts; a plumbing inspection and clean out of your water tank, and a HVAC rejuvenation.
Goettl failed on both, and then some...
A technician came by and serviced my HVAC system. He reported that my capacitor was going bad on my AC unit and should be repaired in the near future. After giving me a ridiculously $$$ price quote, I called around to price check with other companies and quickly found a much more reasonable price. What really concerned me most is that after the Goettl technician left, my AC unit was running but it wasn't cooling my home. Fortunately, the other company was coming the next morning. The technician found that Goettl mis-wired my AC back together causing a motor to overheat!!! Who knows what damage that caused on the system and how that will effect the lifespan of my AC unit??? This was Strike 1 for Goettl.
I was sure to contact Goettl and inform them, who then directed me to email the report to:
[email protected]I felt some relief knowing that at least my issue was noted, and the company at fault was aware of the issue they had caused.... or so I thought, later I found out differently.
The Rejuvenation package comes with a plumbing assessment and water heater washout. But at the time of purchase I had just bought a new water heater and piping so it didn't need a cleaning. Kindly, Goettl said to just call in the future when I'm ready to have my water heater serviced. Fast forward to now, I called them and they said, Sorry, we can't honor that because it was an old promotion. Are you kidding me?? Strike two.
I have an issue with loyalty, I'll stay with a company for too long even after they've scorned me, I think it's because I feel like they know my case and I hope they'll try to do better in the future. So, I decided to give Goettl another chance with their promotion of $14/month which includes an HVAC rejuvenation, plumbing inspection, unlimited drain unclogging, and a water tank cleaning (because remember I'm going to have to pay for that now since they won't honor my previous purchase). I decided $14/month for a year is acceptable so I purchase the plan and schedule my appointment for my water heater for last Monday.
After scheduling this appointment I had to leave town on an assignment. I am a travel nurse working Covid ICUs, so I am not in town and I must rely on calling around to schedule service appointments and coordinating it with family still in town. This becomes especially annoying for me when Goettl calls and says they cannot show up on Monday, can we reschedule for next Monday instead? Oh also, it's not $14/month because you have 2 AC units, it will be $22/month instead....
Okay, so now not only are you not able to show up when you said, but you misquoted me? You have been servicing my home for 4 years, you know what systems I have. Also, on that same phone call to schedule this appointment I asked if my original complaint of them overheating my AC's motor was in my profile, IT WAS NOT! I had to re-email it to them... Frustrating, but fine, I need this done and I'm too busy, too tired and don't have the energy or time to deal with this, let's just reschedule the appointment for next Monday instead, and I'll agree to pay more per month.
Now this is the straw that broke the camels back. They call today saying they CANNOT come as scheduled AGAIN, and have to rescheduled for NEXT Wednesday. I am livid. And I want to save other people from this horrendously managed company.
On a positive note, again, every technician that has ever come by my home has been kind, professional, respectful and courteous.
