Description

Whether you have some minor work, or you need extensive repairs, there is no job too big or small for us to tackle. Any sort of work that involves electricity can be dangerous, leading to severe injuries or substantial property damage. Even if you think your problem is simple to fix, don't try it yourself unless you have a great deal of experience. Make the safe choice and leave this type of work to a professional.

HISTORY

A man, a plan, and a rundown red pick-up!

In 1993, Tom Raynor began taking on electrical construction and service jobs across southern New Jersey. With just one assistant and one beat up truck, Tom crisscrossed the state building a reputation for his small outfit as one that offered professional, hands-on service and reliable, high quality results.  By 1994, it was official--Raynor Services was born!

We needed to replace our attic fan. We had used them before for a different service and had been pleased.  They came out right away and did an excellent job. The fan is very quiet and does a great job keeping the house cool.

The technician Mike did  a very good job. He arrived early and also did a great job cleaning
up.  That was very appreciated!

Thank You

They will cancel you even when you are using a vacation day to accommodate their schedule.  How am I supposed to get the service I am paying for in a contract?  Can't do on a Saturday or in the evening for a working customer . Jo

These guys are awesome.!!!!!!
Lou, Collin and Michael took care of so many issues we had. they were polite hard-working really nice guys who knew electrical. They found a couple issues we were not aware of and were more than willing to take care of things. I highly recommend this business and cannot speak highly enough of the people.

I  was recommended to Raynor Electric by another electric contractor that does not service our area.  Am I glad they did. From the initial call to completion of the job they were pleasant, on time, clean and right up front with all cost before the work begun.  Good honest Electricians are hard to come by at times so this was a great find. Our service guy Mike was pleasant and really great to talk to. Even quoted us on future jobs we want done. They also do heating ,cooling and solar work besides electrical. I become a Service Partner on the spot and saved 15% instantly on my job.
I definitely recommend them.

This place is a joke!  Started out great with the service guy, he was friendly, showed up (nowadays that's impressive) We had to wait to get the mini-split which even that is okay, I do understand it's harder to get supplies now.  The workers during installation made me a little concerned as far as experience.  The unit in the dining area was leaking and it took them a little but they fixed it. We had had our new unit for a month and no one has been out to inspect it.  The bigger problem is a few days ago the one unit was making gurgling noise,  We called Raynor on Saturday.  My husband spoke to Brittany who had him upload a video of the issue.  She said someone would be out Monday AM and no one came!! My husband called and they say Oh we never had you on the schedule  Are you kidding me!!!!!!  When I got up this morning my son's AC was on but not cooling it was so hot in his room as you all know the weather has been oppressive this last week.  On top of that now the one in my bedroom is leaking.  So, my husband waiting at home missing work hoping that this company will make good on this very expensive AC that isn't working!!  I never write reviews but I am so frustrated that we bit the bullet, spent a considerable amount of money for something that doesn't work!  I just want them to show up and fix this!

Waited all day for electrician to come. He finally called and said he was an hour away and tried to get out of coming. They said they had to charge a diagnostic fee of over $200 but did not tell me this until the electrician was on his way. I found all of this unprofessional. Unfortunately, like most people I work and don't have time to wait all day and then reschedule after a wasted day. Electrician grossly overcharged me. I heard him talking on the phone asking which breakers should go in my panel and telling the person on the phone he used Google to try to find out. He said, I'm not going to waste my time here because I won't make any money. He tried to sell me something I don't need for another $3000. I had a witness with me and we both felt this was predatory selling. The owner said, When you buy food do they break down all the costs of all the aspects of what it took to make your product? when I asked for a bill with the costs broken down.

A/C died in the middle of the day. They showed up in a couple hours and swapped a bad part within 5min. This is not the first time they've rescued us or did electrical install work for us. Each time they've been upfront with options, did great work, and never left me thinking I got had. So glad to have found a group of honest tradesmen.

Had Raynor several years ago. Yes I fell for their Bs. Just had to fix yet another one of their screw ups. Third time now. I typically use higher end professionals for all my needs because I want things done right the first time. Raynor was more expensive than the other quotes we got but seemed to have good customer service etc. Should have gone with any other electrician on the planet! All but one of the recessed lights has been replaced. New company showed me burnt wire and socket on old lights. Said these should never be used in a residential application.
Still have damage in my attic from their install. STAY AWAY FROM RAYNOR!

I contacted Raynor to purchase and install a new gas heater, the installer was a joke, left my basement light fixtures hanging by the wires so he can run the gas pipe thru there, used the wrong clamps to secure the electric wires now they are loose, and FAILED the town inspection, the fresh air intake has to come from upstairs and he had it sucking dirt 1 inch  from the basement floor. Now they want to charge me more money for parts and labor to run the new ductwork. I didnt want the same installer in my home so I had to pay someone else to install the new ductwork and pass inspection, the best part is i have to pay a maintenance contract for the life of the unit to Raynor so i can activate the heaters warranty, shitty installer work, dont know the town codes, and charges you more money for their mistakes, do yourself a favor, dont let Raynor in your home.

Very disappointed in the service.  Technician came out and pretty much told me that the air wasn't working.  Gave me a quote of $500 to add a wire to fix the issue that a different technician would have to come back to fiX on another day.  I still was charged a service call and nothing was fixed.  What was explained as the issue didn't make sense to me so I had a second company come out and the issue was really that there was a blown fuse (about $3 to replace - not $500 for new wiring). I wrote to the company to express my concerns and dis-satisfaction and requested a refund and never heard back.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR, IT WILL SAVE YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.  We hired this company for a simple commercial HVAC install, however they did not adhere to the guidelines dictated by the town which is preventing our company from receiving a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) for this building.  In response to our inquires to rectify the above issue, the owner (Tom) has been grossly negligent. He has refused to work with us and the town to fix his errors which is completely unprofessional.  This company has cost my partners and I thousands of dollars of lost revenue and we are now in a situation where the owner does not return our phone calls.  How can a company which states on its website that it provides top quality service with professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and highly skilled technicians that make sure we treat your home and business as if it were our very own under-deliver on all of the above qualities? Don't let the same thing happen to you, find another professional company to work with.

Patrick Stewart from Raynor came out early Saturday as promised and assessed what we needed and then went out shopping for ceiling fans.  He sent us text pictures from Lowe's until we found the right one.  He came right back, worked into the afternoon and did a perfect job!  No mess, no problems.  Very polite and professional.  We have had Raynor work in our home many times over the years and wouldn't call anyone else for our electrical needs.

Raynor Electric installed a generator sub-panel, so that I could safely connect our generator to the house wiring. They did a fantastic job beginning to end: The office was friendly and helpful when scheduling the appointment. The technician who gave the estimate was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

For the actual installation, the technicians came right on time, and were again extremely professional and friendly. Nick took great pride in making the work as neat and polished as possible. (For example, the wiring inside the breaker panel, which few people would see, was clean and pristine-- great attention to detail.) He was happy to answer any questions that I had.

The work was completed on time, with no issues. I'm now ready in case of a power failure. I would definitely go back to Raynor again.

Do not let the length of time this company has been in business lull you into a false sense of security, they are GROSSLY INCOMPETENT
After paying over 12K for a central air and heat unit install, the company tore all of the belly paper and insulation away from the area they installed the return under my mobile home, and left it laying on the ground instead of putting it all back in place, which exposed the subfloor to condensation when the AC ran that developed mold, as well as dried and buckled when we started using the heat.
We are currently working with their insurance company to get this resolved, which is selective insurance company. It took us well over two weeks to get the name of their insurance company and we needed the assistance of a lawyer to do so. I am naming their insurance company here, because if you go with them you will definitely that information after they do the work. Also important to note, they have claimed that me filing this damage claim was as a result of a lawsuit they filed against me and retaliatory. To date, there is no such action filed against me by this company. I can only assume that they are trying to discredit me, in order not to be held liable for the damage that they caused. I've made their insurance company aware of this intentional misinformation being provided by the insured. Prior to contacting them and their insurance company, we had it independently verified that what occurred was due to Raynors incompetence

After having experienced a long and arduous construction process, my wife and I moved into our new home in the summer of 2014. It wasn't long before there were some issues in need of an electrician and HVAC technician. I had heard from a local contractor that Raynor was a good company and give them a call. Over the past year Raynor has installed an additional air filter, rectified some electrical problems, and I've taken out both HVAC and generator service contracts with them. I've been nothing but happy with both the employees in the field and those in the back office. They are one of the easiest outfits I've worked with and do everything in their power to accommodate the customer. I recommend them to friends and figured they deserved a yelp review after my most recent interactions.

I would definitely recommend. I received a promotional email for heater system check-up service. I sent an info request through the email; someone from the office (Sherri) reached out via email and phone call that day. Friendly, good customer service (which I value), good turn around on appointment setting. Tech (Mike) was there when they said he would be. Was nicely dressed in a uniform, was cordial and professional. Was thorough in explanation of progress of visit and potential system upgrades. While information on upgrades was presented, no hard sell, just provided brochures.  I received a call the next day on electrical work I need done and we set an appointment. The service call follow up email offered an opportunity to express satisfaction/dissatisfaction. I have no complaints and hope future encounters are just as positive.

Had Raynor come to my house to install 2 overhead lights and recessed lighting. The 2 electricians, Nick and Todd, were friendly, courteous, and respectful. They always asked my preferences on placement and other things before proceeding with their work. Everything was done in a timely manner and looks great. I would definitely recommend them.

would not recommend... came out to add 1 220, and 2 115 dedicated circuits for equipment in a commercial retail shop... was given 3 quotes ranging from $2000 - $3000!!  paid my $29 and said thanks but no thanks... i think they make most of their money collecting the $29 fees....

Raynor was contracted to perform entry-level, residential electrical work. Not a very good first impression. Despite terrific marketing, putting their procedures into practice is inconsistent at best.

Friendly and professional staff/technicians, questionable quality control and management.

When addressing a technical/process problem, ownership is insensitive to customer inconvenience, disruption and aggravation.

Raynor Services NJ. I'm addressing my aha moment experience . I wouldn't recommend because of the pricing and what I was I told. Remember I'm not an electrician so I'm looking for someone to guide me, the professionals.  During  my new life lesson learned January 1st even for a holiday this is high but Raynor sticking by their quotes and will even provide your financing. WOW, you would have to with those charges! I felt like it was PSEG all over again trying to sell me a new air conditioner when my unit was only 4 years old.   I said that to Raynor, they already had some of my money at that time. Thinking let me go local would be the best, totally wrong.  They ask for your credit card up front, thinking back my first mistake but their site  stated they on Angie's so I did it. Hhhmmmm.. I have only had a company ask for a credit card upfront when they are ordering a part for me from what I recall. They charged you for walking thru the door, no problem. Then have your sign to review your issue, yes you don't have to but again I'm not an electrician, did the electrician not know what was going on? This is my 11 year old electrical panel, yup pretty new one would think. Well I have no electricity, the guy is asking me it must be something more that is going on I thought , not just the main breaker? I called originally stating the main breaker is not working.  Apparently this was my fault to have someone review my electrical panel which took 10 minutes to do and I was billed  $467.09.  January 1st , my first got you clause of the year.  The two women I spoke to at the company were nice on the phone and wanted to give me a free warranty. I'm thinking in my head , for what?Kerri who also works for the company was so nasty to me on the phone, she was the final person I spoke too. I repeated myself several times and  received the same story from the company  on how you go to the doctors and what my doctor charges me.  Maybe Kerri got upset when I told her I heard that story 2x's already and wouldn't allow me to talk so I let her go. Finally I had to interrupt her several times to say what is my bill and she didn't even know and said you will get an email. One of the workers even told me the prices are high and yes a lot of people complain about the same issue your are complaining about, OMG!!! The electrician that came out were young but nice guys. I was  told by one of the company employees I am handling it well and I'm a very nice person, imagine that. After talking  to 3 different people on the phone from Raynor still charged $467.09 and no breaker. The price they wanted to charge me after the work completed is $1,140.26, for service and a breaker, less then 1/2 hour job. They also wanted to sell me a new panel/ electrical system because mine was reading to go. As I was told by the company the electrician didn't have to check my service but then again how do you find out the problem? The guy spent 10minutes to review the problem and 10minute to put my electric on, let say 30 minutes. This is the email I sent to the company after talking to 3 people pretty calmly about their charges. EMAIL:.To who it may concern , Please confirm  service fee charge, I received a 2nd email but not clear, it states I still owe. It is unfortunate and your employee did come back to retrieve your cable from me today. For a single circuit breaker along with service would cost someone over a thousand dollars is not responsible even on a holiday. To charge  someone over $467.09 to step through my door and tell me what is wrong  even on a holiday is priced high. We already knew it was the main breaker I addressed this when I placed the initial call and spoke with Chris when he came out.  Maybe your guy should of stated to me let's try the breaker first? This was not addressed to me at that time. It was addressed to do a diagnostic test , as a customer I felt that is what was needed. I was also told I needed an entire new system and the outside tubing I think you call it would need to be replaced. My unit is not even 11 years old, insane.  Also begins over spoken too by Kerri was concerning. Stephanie and Cheri did speak to me kindly but the high price never changed. I  have done business with  many companies and lived in neighborhood for over 20 years and I have not come across an experience like this.  I would hope the charges will not even come to $467.09. If so very unfortunate and lesson learned. I have never had a company I couldn't work things out with and I have only had one other company complaint in the last 20 years, not bad on my part, we were able to negotiate. I was offered a free warranty package from your company but this was to keep my business but saw no problems with what I was charged? Disheartening. Yes after all this I had a new electrician come to my house and guess what all I need was a Circuit breaker I did not need a new panel/electrician system. Imagine that

Excellent customer service from Lisa and Amanda. They helped me with getting inspection permits. The electrician who came out (Stephen) was professional (used Raynor doormat and booties inside the house), was concerned about the type of outlet needed so actually called the fireplace company for details and confirmation. He had trouble getting through the concrete in my chimney, so had to return on another day to finish the job. It took over 5 hours to get through the concrete (and 3 more guys showing up to help) but it was all done correctly (we passed inspection). The price was excellent and did not change from the first estimate even though he spent many more hours than originally planned.

Do not use this company.  Our experience with them was an excercise in dishonesty bordering on fraud.  Our upstairs AC unit didn't start up during the hot weather two weeks ago.  Fan on the evaporator didn't engage and the unit was hot to the touch.  We called Raynor and the technician came out Monday morning.  Looked at the unit outside and the unit servicing the second floor.  Within 10 minutes he told me I needed to replace the outside AC unit to the tune of $7000 and I might as well replace the attic blower unit because it was old and he would give me a deal and do them both for $10,500.  The other option was to spend $1200 to add Freon to the AC unit because it was completely empty and replace the capacitor.  He advised against that strenuously and was very quick to hustle up a brochure and repeatedly tell me that I can control it all from my phone.  Also, left the light on in the attic and never closed the attic pull down ladder.  Almost forgot - also didn't reconnect the AC unit, leaving it totally inoperable. None of this made sense to me so I called another contractor, ABSOLUTE COMFORT CONTROL from Maple Shade. They came out today (Dan the technician was great), replaced the capacitor, checked the Freon - which was completely full by the way - and fired up the unit.  Works perfectly.  COST - $117.  Do not use Raynor.  They give good, decent and honest contractors a bad name.

They are WAAAAAAY over priced. They quoted me 3500$ (option 1) and over 4000$ (option 2) for an electrical upgrade. I have since hired someone else who did it for 1500$. Same exact work, same quality, liscensed contractor, got the permits and passed inspection with flying colors.

When I called on the phone to setup an in-home estimate they said there was no charge. After listening to the in-home estimate and presentation I told them I am waiting for 2 other estimates. The gentleman thanked me, left, and went to his truck only to knock on my door 5 minutes later stating i forgot to collect the 29.99 in home estimate fee . I told him that i was told on the phone there is no fee so he returned to his truck. He did not leave until after 10 minutes or so which was wierd to me.

In the meantime, I call them up to confim and the lady told me there was a fee and not to worry I won't be charged THIS TIME (like i did domething wrong). So a litte agrevated, my wife emailed them as a potential new customer and asked if they charge for an in-home estimate and they told her NO.

I will never call them for any eletrical need again.

I had Raynor inspect and clean my heater to have it ready for the winter.  They were 45 minutes late for an 8 am appointment.  They stated it was fine and in working order.  I paid $89. for the service.  When I turned the heater on later it was not working.  I had another company fix the heater because they did not answer my phone call until 4 hours later.  When finishing their work on the heater the technician missed an important step; although minor is imperative for proper functioning of the heater.  When I explained the poor service to the Raynor personnel they couldn't get off the fast enough.

Received quotes to install one spot light out back. Try $651 and $886. Are you kidding me? To do a simple job like that. The light costs $25 at Lowes. Called the company to complain about the quotes and was blown off by the receptionist.

My wife was home for the price quotes. They charged her $29.99 for these ridiculous prices! They would have been shown the door without a nickle if I was home!

This company tried to take advantage of a woman, in my opinion. I will go out of my way to spread the word about this predatory company.

Prior to calling an electrician, the first thing I did was to check the Better Business Bureau - Raynor Electric was nearby, and, more importantly, had an A+ Rating. The plug near the refrigerator was broken and we had an extension cord running to a good outlet - not an emergency, so we let it slide for awhile.
Then, a few months later, more electrical problems - I called Raynor Electric, and was fortunate that they had an opening not far in the future.
I am sure that the entire company is excellent - however, we were lucky to have Matt come to diagnose and repair the numerous problems. Due to my comfort level after realizing that Matt truly was excellent at what he does, I added in a few more items that we have been meaning to get to.
To add some icing to the cake, Raynor has all of the employees clean up after themselves, wear booties over their shoes to not add extra dirt to my house - he even put a mat over my mat on the outside - I do believe my house was cleaner when he left than when he got here.
I only wish there were more stars to give - they not only met my expectations, they far exceeded my expectations - I now know that I have an electrician to call the next time something goes wrong - I will ask for Matt, but I'm sure the rest of the people are great. Not an easy task to have an A+ rating at the BBB.
***My two dogs were very happy, too***
A ++ rating for THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!!!!

way over priced, they were $2000 more on price for a whole house generator. i got it installed for 2000 cheaper and it was done in a day inspector said it was one of the nicest installs he had ever seen, way over priced, and to pushy on sales. looked like a bunch of office guys, not workers, thought they were gonna try and sell me there van after all the other stuff they tried to sell me on
