Mr Harris arrived at my house promising that he will beat all the competition out there. His price to put LED in the whole light was 20000dollars for about 14 lights. I expressed to him repeatedly that I could not afford more than that. I agreed to let him put the lights for the 2000 dollars. He sent two of his guys. Then he told me that to help me more, he will charge me 10 per hours plus material. They told me they should be done in a day, at most two days. On the first day, both guys started working, one left around noon for another job. The second day, only one guy worked until 3 pm. The last day, one guy came and stay for less than 2 hrs. Total hrs at my house was 14 hrs. On the last day, I noticed that the guy that came from two hrs removed my chandelier from my dining room to put an LED instead.
Mr Harris brought me a bill of 4000 dollars . I told him that we never agreed to that. He started almost begging that I pay him the extra 2000 dollars. I quickly realized that he was in need of money and refused to pay. So he stopped begging and treathened me to pay or else. He told me to sign the agreement to pay or he will be back. He told me that for my chandelier, I requested it to be that way. I refused to pay. I was alone in the house, I signed a paper and asked him to leave. I never took his calls again. He took me to court. The judge asked me to give him 600 dollars over 6 months. I guess he was not very happy. Well I was. He reported to my credit 1000 dollars debts.
Although the money part did not affect my life. I learned that Mr Harris was NOT a man of his words. He claimed in front of the judge that his employees worked the whole time together.
That man is an ugly old man. He appeared nice. But I learned my lesson. Never trust old men again and from now on, if there is no written agreement, there will be no job.
Honestly, Do NOT trust Harris Electric.
