Very rarely would I take the time on a Saturday morning to sit down and write a review. However, the moment Doug left my house this morning, I felt compelled to take the time to write this review.

When I first bought my house back in April, I had an electrician come out and hang 4 new fixtures. After he left I noticed 2 of my outdoor lights no longer functioned. I had the best of intentions to get this fixed, but here I am in August and it's just now being addressed.

After I was told it'd be 2 weeks before anyone could come to my house, by 2 other electricians who'd been referred by friends, I finally called Edge Electric. They left a magnet in my mailbox a few months back. Doug, from Edge Electric, say he'd be out to my house the next day.

Turns out the former electrician's incompetence was the reason for my garage lights not working - as well as my flood lights not functioning in the backyard. He also did a shoddy job of hanging the fixture in my living room. Doug went above and beyond and fixed all of the problems that were done by the former electrician.

I cannot sing his praises loud enough. Not only is he kind, but he also took the time to explain what he did, as well as what bulbs would be best for me to use to save me money on my electric bill. This may seem like a silly thing to notice, but he always called me by my name. He also cleaned up the various work spaces immaculately.

I will absolutely call Doug again when I have any electrical problems, and all my friends will receive his contact information if they ask for a good electrician.

While the work I received seems fine, I was overcharged.

$160 for a $35 part. Had I been a little more patient, I could have saved at a minimum, $60.

They charge $50 as a standard service fee to come out to the house in first place.

Had these guys come out and I can see why most people are so leary of contractors. $49 service charge. I am an electrical engineer and although we don't learn about residential electric and codes, I am smart enough to figure out that the work needed is not $2690.

I accused Earl of trying to rip me off and so he threatened to call the city about code violation.  This is an older house and a lot of things are grand fathered in.

The situation is this. OG&E wants to me to replace the burnt lugs to the power meter base. They have it circled and marked. There are a couple of wires feeding an older breaker that they want removed from the main power meter. The old breaker is within 2 feet from the outside panel.

The details of the work to be accomplished were lacking on his quote, as well to see how he would itemize it. The guy can really talk up his experience, etc.

I ended up using High Point Electric for $725 and pulled the permits etc. They brought everything to code, replaced the meter base, removed the inside breaker panel and had the city come inspect it. Big difference between the quotes and I doubt the work performed was different. High Point didn't charge for a service call to give a quote either.

High Point Electric did not cut any corners and even though they ran into a couple of snags, didn't charge me extra. Edge Electric wanted to charge me 4 x the cost? Ridiculous!!!

Earl from Edge Electric threatened to CALL THE CITY for the violations, since I refused to use him... Really?.

Do not get ripped off!!!

First I want to say the work was done correctly and they were professional in getting it done and explaining the process.  However, to charge $49.00 for the trip charge and then $285.00 to fix a simple short in the outlet that actually took about 20 minutes was totally excessive in my view.  There was an apprentice electrician that accompanied the one doing the work.  I can't help but think I must have been paying for two people instead of the one electrician I called for.  In their ad in the phone book it says they have the best prices in town! which I highly doubt.  Anyway, it was a lesson learned....needless to say I won't be using Edge Electric again.  If I needed electrical services, I will be checking home advisor and other places to find someone more reasonably priced.

Had to call Edge out on a Sunday.  We had calling fans and lights go out in 3 bedrooms.  Turned out, it was due to the wiring in the GFI outlet in our garage.  Great guy and very nice.  He explained things really well and also have us some advice going forward for a few other appliances and systems in the house.  We knew we were going to get a weekend charge and be more expensive than normal, but wasnt expecting the amount to go fishing for wires considering it only took an hour to complete the job.  I don't want to mark them down too much bc of that though, bc again it was a Sunday and wasn't an emergency.   They also came out pretty quick, 45 minutes after we called.  I would use their service again.

Called Edge because they have always worked on any electric problem that we have had. Even though they were so busy with the ice storm damage, they came out in the evening and fixed our problem and did not charge us any more than if it had been during regular hours. Not that they would always do that but I guess since we've been with them so long they did that. Very nice especially this time of year. . Always affordable, we trust this company. We have since 2005.

Started out great ended BAD!  Had a broken spot light in front of the house and needed it replaced but by replacing it would be using a different fixture than the other two so we decided to replace all three so they would match and also use the new LED technology. Called Edge electric Who were very nice on the phone and sent out Justin that day. Justin was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, BUT - Justin said it would be $120 for the install and then of course the cost of each fixture.  I also thought The $49 service charge was supposed to be part of the overall work, but it's not. It is separate.  However, this could've been my misunderstanding from the phone call.  However, my wife and I were both standing there when Justin said it would be $120 for the install, not $120 per light for the install, this is not including the cost of each fixture.  There is a big difference compared to $120 for the install versus $120 per light.  This is just labor. The next day Justin showed up installed the lights and for about 45 minutes of work it cost us over $360 for just the labor, the lights/fixtures were separate.  I was at work and my wife was home during the installation and she wrote the check, she immediately called me and said it was a lot higher than what she expected. I then called edge electric to get clarification as did my wife. Justin said he told us it was $120 per light, which is simply not true. My wife and I were both there when he said it was $120 for the entire install.  I called back and talked to Angela and Angela was very nice and said she would pass it on to the owners who have never called me back, but they were quick to cash our check. Very frustrating and would have done this myself had I known it was going to be this much money. I looked for them for professional honest service and for convenience, but feel like they weren't clear about the cost and don't care.  I will not be using their service again even if it's something beyond my ability I will go to another company.
