I recently purchased a house built in 1928 that was renovated 5 years ago.  A tankless water heater was installed at that time.  Over the past several days, the tankless was not turning on, we had REALLY cold showers...it's not fun!  Fortunately the previous owner left the instruction guide with Edco Plumbing and their phone number hand written on the cover.  I called.

Jerry came out to take a look at the water heater - which he had serviced in the past.  He is the most informative plumber I know!  I now know what I need to do to keep the tankless running.  If I have any plumbing problems in the future, I'll give Edco a call!

As you can see from the multiple other 1 star reviews my experience was no different. Charges double to triple the average cost of simple repairs and takes advantage of emergencies to coat their pockets. Was estimated one price for total repairs only to have it change the next day upon arrival. Steer clear of these scamming low lives.

My normal plumber was unavailable so I called Edco. I needed the gasket between the tank and the bowl of my toilet replaced. I was charged $85 for a visit then $300 for parts and labor. The parts were less than $20 and the job lasted one hour. I feel like I was severely overcharged. The plumber said they don't charge by the hour, but rather by the job. I feel like $280 to replace a gasket is ridiculous.

Update: I shared the receipt with my normal plumber who was taking some time off over the holidays and he said it should've cost $200 less.

DO NOT USE EDCO UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SEVERELY OVERPAY

I had a notion that this was a rip off after reading the reviews I feel better now .I was frustrated and wanted to get the job done now because my floor was getting damage but I told him when they left that I felt like I had just left the whorehouse.

We noticed a leak around our water heater.  We had previously had great service from Edco so we called them again.  They came out within an hour.  At first they were not certain if it was a slab leak or in the wall.  After further inspection they found it was a line in the wall behind the water heater. Since we have PB lines we had them replace both lines going to water heater.  They were courteous, prompt and did a great job.  We have a home warranty but their plumbers are terrible so we called Edco and will call them in the future!

Our furnace went out on January 22nd, and after calling a few places, Edco was able to come out and service us right away. We ended up needing a new pressure switch, which the tech told us he had on hand, and would cost us $501 in addition to the $85 service charge. Having a newborn at home and being a freezing cold day, we didn't have time to price shop, so we agreed to the repair right away. Upon researching afterwards, we realized we were ripped off on the price of the part and fix. Fast forward to February 9th and the furnace goes out again. We called another local company who came out and confirmed to us that their charge for the same exact part and repair would have been $210 less. Bottom line...Edco is dishonest, price gauges and takes advantage of people in emergency situations. In addition, their quality of work is questionable. We will never use them again, nor would we recommend them to anyone.

Loved that they showed up with a mask and it would be great if they keep it up whole time while they are working! They said it would cost $85 to repair a toilet clogged which took 5 minutes and we ended up paying $300! He said $85 is to find the problem and when I asked him what was the issue he said he doesn't know!!
Definitely not gonna use their service again!

Called them out to fix a small leak. Mike, the tech came out and spent 15 min on the phone with the owner because he didn't know what to do. Then he tells me it's going to be $900 to fix. I paid for their show up fee and told him no thanks. He then proceeded to tell his boss on the phone some choice words about me in front of my wife and kids as he walked out. Needless to say, I called another plumber and he fixed it for $150. My new plumber laughed and said they were trying to rob me. Bad business, bad customer service. DON'T LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!

Ed Gregory came to my place of business to check for a slab leak.
He but he only found a fitting leak.
He was very reasonably priced.
I would recommend to anyone to use his services.

Stay away from this company!!!  They try to stick you with an absolute ridiculous cost for services.  They charged me a $85 trip charge which I was expecting.  Then, wanted to charge an ADDITIONAL $286.50 to change out my kitchen faucet which I provided.  I may understand that cost if they provided the faucet.  So they wanted to charge me almost $400 to change out a kitchen faucet which would take them maybe 30 minutes.  Please, look for a different company for your plumbing needs.

What a scam! Charged $85 trip charge to connect a fire pit then after estimated the job so high it was completely unreasonable. The Technician spent 5 minutes and a phone call for $85 and no work. This is a sick game and trick! I would never recommend such business practices.

Called at 5pm yesterday to fix a toilet in our home.  They told us that they could come out by 5:30 the same day.  We settled on 10 am today and they fixed everything like a charm.  When they arrived we had a few more things for them to look at, and they didn't even bat an eye, just got right to it.  Great price and wonderful service!!

My A/C wasn't getting my house as cold as the temp I set my thermostat on.  I called them to come look at the system.  They showed up the next day and performed some tests on the air conditioner.  They uncovered some debris and built-up cobwebs within the unit and cleaned it out.  They were at my house about an hour, charged a reasonable price, and my house immediately got cooler.  I feel so much better after having this done because it got up to 108 outside yesterday!

I thought they were very nice at first, and I appreciated their ability to come out so last minute. They fixed the problem we had quickly, BUT the problem came back literally the next day. So, when I had them come out again they did they same thing & just used a bigger thing to clean out our pipes - which I'm not sure why they didn't use that the first time. Then they used a camera to see if there was something wrong with the line & when they told me there was a crack they gave me an estimate of around 20k to replace it. Ridiculous! I obviously did not procede with that.
& while I understand there's no guarantee when they fix things - I do expect that the problem won't arise again the next day. They charged me double what they did the first time.
Then about 3 months later the problem is back AGAIN, so I called out a different company & they were much more upfront & thorough in the repair + the charged me HALF of what edco did the first time.
All in all - edco consists of kind people, I'm just not entirely sure that they aren't just trying to take your money :) so I would call someone else before them.

I'm a realtor, and a lot of the houses that I sell may have minor to large problems. So that's where Edco comes in. I make sure to inform my clients of using Edco because of their superior speed and pricing options. If you seek quality services pick Edco.

Last March, we hired Edco plumbing to cap a gas line in our attic due to a leak in our fireplace. He came out and did the job. Fast forward to last week- our AC has been acting up and after repairing some parts, it still wasn't keeping up right. The heat and air guy came out and looked around and asked if someone had done any work on our fireplace. We said yes last March. He informed us that whoever had called the gas line, also cut a hole in our plenum. So our AC has been sucking in hot attic air and trying to cool it. We called edco plumbing and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and condescending, saying that they would never cut into a plenum. Due to the location of the gas line they capped, and the hole in the plenum, it's pretty obvious that it was done. We emailed them photos and asked for an explanation. None was given. We asked them to just come out to the house and show us how they accessed the gas line without making the hole- nope. They don't have time to do that unless we want to pay a service fee. Bottom line- don't use this company. I can get over a mistake happening if he didn't realize what he did and was willing to fix it. But refusing to even come out and look? Unacceptable.

Also- I considered the fact that the hole was already there when he repaired the gas line. Edco plumbing is also a heat and air company. So if the hole was already there, I would assume they would acknowledge it to the homeowner so that A) no one blames them for it and B) we know our AC will not work properly.

Called them out do fix a few problems. A leaky pipe in the front of the house.  They replaced it and it still leaked. They came out again and fixed it. I was going to have them also install a new faucet in this kitchen, but they wanted to charge me $485 when I already bought the faucet. I called Plumb Crazy. They did it for about 1/4 of the price.

Update! My new plumber reddy rooter came out and fixed if for $120! They found the ground take out in about 30 seconds and there was the problem. EDCO wanted to dig up my pipes and replace for $3000. I haven't had any issues since reddy rooter came out about 3 months ago.

I can't say as to how they work because I wound up hiring someone else to fix a water leak by my meter. EdCo quoted me $1800 to fix the leak while Will Rogers Plumbing charged me $345. Needless to say they won't be on my list the next time I need work done.

BUYER BEWARE! This company practices questionable business practices.  We needed a simple kitchen sink unclogged.  I called on Friday and they agreed to come out Monday at 9:00. The serviceman came out checked it out and called his boss.  They came back with a quote of $301.50 plus an $85 service charge to come out.  We have rental properties and knew that was absurd.  We declined the quote but still had to pay the $85 service fee. The serviceman seemed embarrassed  by the quote and admitted that was really high and that this happens quite often.  I immediately called Mr. Rooter and 30 minutes later a serviceman was out and it took them 20 minutes to unclogged the drain.  They charged $129.50.  Their profile on the Better Business Bureau has several complaints of price gouging.  Their business model seems to be to come out give an absurd quote and get $85 for doing nothing or do the job for several times what any legitimate business would charge

On June 7th, 2015, my air stopped cooling.  It was on a Sunday evening, so I had to wait until Monday morning to call someone to come out.  I called Edco Plumbing, Heating and Air (the Southwest Office) (I'd used them before for plumbing issues) and was told someone would be out later that day.  Gary from Edco came out and took at look at my air conditioner.  He said the compressor was locked up and that the entire unit would need to be replaced.  He gave me two different options-one for $5000 and one for $6000. He said to replace both the heat AND air would run about $11,000.  We talked about the coolant and the prices of that.  He said right now, the R22 coolant is running around $700.  I decided on the $5000 option.  He left to go pick up the unit, and I got some advice from others that this seemed to expensive.  I called Gary and let him know I was going to check around first.

I then contacted Sunrise Heat and Air.  Because of the time of year, they couldn't make it out until Wednesday, June 10th.  The repairman came in, walked outside to the unit, back to his truck and then back inside my house.  He said 'well, your air is back on!.  Imagine my surprise-I'd been told I had to have a new unit.  It was the CAPACITOR, and was fixed for under $300.  I mentioned what I'd been told about the price of coolant, and was told it's not even half that price. Sunrise also said to replace my entire heat and air system would cost $6500.

I don't know how a company can make that kind of mistake.  So, my thoughts are that it wasn't a MISTAKE.  It was blatant dishonesty to hopefully talk a customer into paying for something that isn't even needed.

I'm so frustrated that Edco tried to do this.  $5000 is a lot of money.  I'm so glad I took the time to get a second opinion.  One would think that an air company would check the capacitor FIRST, since this seems to be the cause of most air issues in the summer.

I would discourage anyone from ever utilizing EDCO.

Left me feeling taken advantage of.  After explaining that the cleanout from the utility room needed to have the roots cut out (a yearly occurrence), and that it had to be done from the roof, the plumber informed me that the job would be almost three times as much as I normally have paid in the past.  Thankfully I found the plumber I've done business with in the past and called them out.  I was still charged $65 for them to come out and tell me they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for the service.  With the information they had, they could have told me that over the phone and I wouldn't have lost $65 dollars or the time waiting on them to get here.  They're also doing business under A-1 Plumbing.  Didn't discover that until the Edco truck rolled up.  The plumber told me that they were competitive on all other services (after that, I'm not interested in finding out).
