I would give 0 stars.  Wish I would have read the reviews before I called this place, but I was desperate to get a plumber out for repairs so that I could get my gas turned back on.  The intimidation tactics were unbelievable that the representative used on me.  Thank goodness I did not agree to have Thomas & Galbraith do my repairs. They were trying to charge me over $12K for repairs that I did not even need. Tried to convince me that they would be able to keep my gas turned off if I didn't do all the repairs they said that I needed.  I seriously want to fight the guy that came to my home. He needs a beat down because that is exactly what he was trying to do to me at a vulnerable time.  Do not call this company for anything. There are reputable places that won't take advantage of you.

I am updating my review. Had an issue. With the estimate vs work. Customer service was 100% attentively the issue.

I will give them another try with my business.

I will say, the guys were friendly and moved my washer/dryer for me. So one star is deserved!!!!

I had an appointment scheduled for 10-12. I asked the lady to make it closer to noon because I work til 10:30 and would be home by 10:45. They showed up at my house at 9:35. I called when I got off work, they said they would send the technician back  out. He never showed back up. So I called and they now rescheduled me for tomorrow between 7 am and 10 pm.  I will find another company and never use this company again. Fail fail fail. It's  a shame I had to pick 1 star to rate them because I wouldn't give them a star at all.

My daughter called this company to unclog a drain. She took a half day off work, losing pay, to be home for the service tech. No show and no call to advise of late arrival or inability to come at all today. She called the office only to be told that no one was going to make it for the appt. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS!! Now they want my daughter to take off work again tomorrow to wait for them. My daughter has four small children and can't afford to miss work. Don't waste your time with this company.

If you're debating listening to the bad reviews on here or if it could really be *that bad* - please listen. If I could give 0 stars I would. We have had issue after issue with this company and it is getting ridiculous. Unless you want to be stuck without ability to use your kitchen for a month - pick someone else. We were unable to use our kitchen/laundry for a whole month because of these people.

1. We originally had a plumber come out to diagnose leaking in our basement. They diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes (clearly not enough) came out to fix it and lo and behold we paid 3 grand to have the same issue the day after they left. Completely misdiagnosed the issue because they didn't listen to us and did it in 5 minutes.

2. They came back out to fix the REAL problem and charged us for it, they took a small amount off the price but not nearly as much as they should considering the first appointment didn't fix the issue at all and the plumbing manager took 3WEEKS TO GET BACK TO US TO SCHEDULE THIS. In the meantime we couldn't use our kitchen for 3 weeks.

3. They then said we should have our pipes scoped to make sure everything looked ok for free. They came out and did so and suggest we hydrojet our pipes. we agreed and made an appointment for today.

4. Not only did they not show up for the appointment today, the guy who scoped our pipes before CAUSED A BACKUP. We went from no issues to not being able to use our kitchen now again. And the best part - they won't come fix it now until Wednesday even though THEY MISSED THE APPOINTMENT TODAY. We have 0 ability to use our kitchen or laundry until late next week.
For a total of a whole month without our kitchen because of them. I expect much better service and turnaround time for an issue you created, especially after the many issues you have caused for us.

The one nice thing I'll say is at least the plumbers we've worked with have been pleasant. Other than that - 0. Listen to the reviews, they cause nothing but issues and headaches and don't own up to their mistakes. We couldn't be more frustrated right now.

This company is dishonest. I called because I had a back up in my main drain in the basement. $4000.00 estimate josh says it's the trap it's rusted out.  I give them $2000 the guys come out dig a 3'x2'x2' hole in my basement floor, take out the cast iron trap and go oops ah that's not the problem. At which point they call josh back and gives me an estimate now of $17900.00. On top of the $4000.00 to dig up more of my basement floor until they find the problem. At which time I yelled stop!  Well they took my perfectly good cast iron trap with them refunded me $1400 of my down payment. And left me in worse shape than when I had just a clog.   Oh I asked the office for an itemized bill several times. Surprise never received! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYunless you have money to burn

I called to have a plumber to fix my leaking toilet. Made the appointment and the man canceled for another day. the NEXT week I called to see if someone was coming and they told me in the afternoon. I told them that I had told them from the first appointment that I work 2nd shift. I would get up twice for him to come at 9:00 A.M.
He finally made it by 12:30 P.M. Look at my toilet and told me it had to be replaced. It didn't. Just the insides changed. I ask him how long it would take and he said 3 1/2 hours. I told him that's why he was suppose to be there at 9:00 A.M. I work in a hospital and can not be late. He said oh we'll have to make another appointment.
I asked him how much was the job going to cost and he said about $500 ! I didn't need a new toilet. I told him no.
I called the company and talked to one person and then they sent me to a voicemail. I told them was it because I was a woman or because I was a senior that he was trying to get over on me. I haven't heard from them at all.
I give them a 0

Someone was staying at my house while I was out of town and my toilet broke. The person staying there called Thomas and Galbreath and paid a $95 service call. They said the toilet needed to be replaced and the charge was $750. This man is on disability and just barely makes that much every month.  But no matter how much money you make, that is an unreasonable amount of money to replace a toilet. I know the company has to make money, but that is ridiculous and now this man is out a good portion of his disability and still no working toilet.  I just think people should be aware of what this company is charging. He should've asked for some estimates over the phone, but maybe this can warn others.

I'm not one to leave reviews, but the experience I had was beyond awful so I want to ensure others are aware.

Let's go back to January 2020. We had a sewer back up in our basement which brought sewage into the house. We called Thomas and Galbraith to unclog our pipe. They did. All was great. They did say it seemed something was in the way of the pipe and we should get a camera down there.

So we did. Found out our pipe was broken and needed replaced at the end of January 2020. They gave us two options, which actually only one was possible. We wanted to go with the more expensive option because it would have required less mess in our backyard, but when they tried to start to work, they found out that option wasn't possible. So we went with the less expensive option, however, since they had already done so much labor the cost was the same as the more expensive option. Which was about a $2,300 difference.

So they came to start to work. Realized they didn't have the right tools. Then came back without permission, while my husband and I were at work, which required us to come home. Throughout the process, there was unacceptable communication and we weren't sure what was going on with the process.

Now it's July 2021, and we noticed a HUGE hole in our backyard where they filled in the hole. Well let me tell you, they did not fill in the hole and used mulch. Seriously?

I will never use Thomas and Galbraith and 110% DO NOT recommend them. Please save your money and time and do research before using them.

Again, not one to normally leave reviews but this had to be said. It's unacceptable and they will continue to hurt home owners and waste their money.

The service representative that came to our home from Thomas & Galbraith Heating & Cooling seemed to be well trained & thorough in determining our AC problem.  He determined that we needed more of the freon refrigerant identified as R 22.  He informed me that we would probably only need one or two lbs.   Now comes the Buyer Beware part.

I was then shocked when he pulled out a chart that listed the cost of 1-2 lbs of R 22 would be $310.10 or $155.05 per lb. Any amount more than 2 lb. would be even higher.  Not knowing what alternatives I had & already obligated  for the service call, I gave approval to go ahead.  While he was doing that I got online & looked for the prices for R 22.  The most expensive that I could find was a tank of 30 lbs. For $425.00 or $14.16 per lb. (you must to be licensed to purchase). Coincidently, the tank that he was pumping from was exactly like the one shown on the internet, including color.  Of course, we expect a company to make a profit when reselling a product.  But, over 2,000 percent?

There is no rating low enough to rate this company, Where do I begin? My 89 year old grandmother was without air for a whole weekend in September. I called on a Saturday and they had no technicians working so we scheduled for a Monday, the least you would think is that they would have emergency technicians. They finally got someone out here on Monday September 17th. He replaced two parts on the ac, talked her into buying a warranty on those parts and charged her 600.00 for the work he did. We thought it was fine until today... the whole fan quit working. I called to get a tech out and he returned my call within 15 mins. He continued to to tell me that if the air quit working and it was related to the two new parts that they replaced that there would be no charge but if it was something else there would be a charge! On a positive note. The guy who came today actually did end up having a heart and didn't charge us for the call. He did however tell us that the motor is completely done and we would have to replace the motor for 850 or buy a new unit for around 4000. This guy deserves a raise for sure, but Why couldn't the first guy tell us this before we spent 600 that could've gone to a new motor or unit??? Because they're a money hungry, selfish,no good company... that's why. They are very dishonest. The owner should be ashamed of himself while he shoves that filet minion in his dirty face. Who rips off the elderly? Thomas and Galbraith that's who! Never again!

Do NOT use this company. I wish I would have checked Yelp prior to calling them. The technician lied straight to my face and told us we had a major refrigerant leak that would be at least $3000 to fix. He made us believe we should replace the AC unit urgently. The salesman from Thomas and Galbraith came out and quoted us almost $9000 for a new AC unit. Thankfully we got additional opinions from several other companies. Turns out we just needed a new condensate pump. These cost $60. When I requested Thomas and Galbraith come out to repair the real culprit, he confirmed that was our issue but wanted us to pay $450. Nope. Just run. I've since heard horror stories from several family members and friends. Truly criminal.

DONT USE THEM!!! I had a scheduled appointment for a couple weeks for them to clean a boiler in my 4 family complex So it could be cleaned . A new buyer requested it before closing. They called me the morning of the appointment and first said they had to reschedule they have other calls , and then when I told them no I need it done today I've waited for this appointment. Why would Appointments that were just made be given preference over my appointment from two weeks ago. Then they came back and said they don't even service boilers or furnaces. These people are such liars. Don't give your money to these people!! DONT USE THEM!!!

Terrible customer service. We had no heat. Came to our house twice and needed to come back a third time because they get the wrong part. Requested a call from Service manager which took forever he lied to me and blamed the issue on us - we don't have a popular furnace. Didn't know there was such a thing. The honestly didn't seem to care whether our furnace functioned or not. Never will I recommend them

Dishonest company. Just stay away.  Zero stars.  Also filing a BBB complaint.

18 months after an AC install that was poor, the wireless connection for our thermostat went bad - doesn't even power on.

We called to have them replace it, as the part is under a manufacturers warranty. They said they would, but only for a $94 trip charge. I offered to bring the part to them. They said I could not do that. They didn't explain why.

They then called back and offered to sell us a new warranty for $400.

Trust the reviews people.  If the local taco fast food place gets three stars and this place gets 1.5, you know it's bad.

I called to schedule a drain cleaning with a 7am to 10 pm window and waited all day until 6pm to call and ask them to put me on for the next day as I had to go out for the evening. About an hour after I hung up I got a text message saying they will be out then next day so I waited all day and they were a no show. I then got another text saying they would be out on Monday and they were a no show. Today is Tuesday at 2:18 pm and they said I had canceled when clearly throughout these days I've been in contact with them for service. They sent me a text each day saying they were coming between 7 and 10 and after 3 1/2 days of runaround I told them no thanks after reading other reviews and speaking to affiliates in the real estate industry. Poor customer service and no shows or follow ups. Be careful.

Thomas and Galbraith overcharges for parts by about 2000% as referenced by the other two filtered reviews on yelp.  They charged $980 for a control board that could be supplied and installed for $300-400 if you shop around.

Also, no money back guarantee, despite what their website says.   Shop around.

RUN!! TERRIBLE SERVICE! If 0 stars was possible I'd give it, but I'll have to settle for 1. We will be reporting them to the BBB. We had to get another company to fix because Thomas and Galbraith never fixed the issue. They stole about 5k from us and never kept their word to call us back nor fix the issue.

A month ago, we noticed our AC was not working, the line from outside to the house was frozen, and there was liquid on the floor inside, so we called to get it looked at and fixed.

The first technician came to take a look at it, and stated that the issue was a leaking coil on the internal unit, and stated that replacing the indoor coil would be a guaranteed fix.  We were told it would be a 4-6 hour job, and the job took 8 hours with 2 techs working. During that time, they were informed that everyone in the home worked from home, taking phone calls, and during the repairs the two began using a brazier, filling the basement with smoke and setting off both the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. Instead of informing us that this was expected, the technicians left the home and walked to their truck, leaving us to panic.

When we attempted to ask for more communication during the process, the technicians slammed our door in our faces, stating they didn't hear us talking to them, despite only being a few feet away.
After they finished, they charged us $5k and went on their way, and the AC worked for a few days, before the exact same problem presented itself; so we called back to have them come fix it again, requesting to speak to a supervisor.

We were contacted by Rod, the manager, and were told that if anything was wrong with the AC system, they would fix it free of charge, as long as nothing outside the AC system caused the problem, such as the foundation shifting.

Once they sent out the Technician Supervisor, Caleb, he told us the exact opposite, stating Rob had told him that if it was anything they had touched in the repair, it would be paid for, but otherwise we would be charged for it.

When we asked to have Rob called in order to clear up any miscommunication, Caleb stated that it wasn't necessary and refused to call.
He spent the next 4 hours checking for why the same issue was presenting itself, eventually concluding that the previous technicians had not put enough refrigerant into the system, and that was why the AC was icing up and there was liquid on the floor.

Caleb added more refrigerant to the system, and the AC began to work again for a few more days. Just as a precaution, we had them send someone out to quote us on replacing the entire AC system, and we were told that they could give us $4k off for work already done and it would cost $12k after the discount.
We thanked them and, thinking the system had been fixed, went about our lives, before the EXACT same issue began to present itself again.

We called back and had them send someone else out to look it over, and when the day rolled around, the technician, Caleb, called and stated that, because he had already looked at it, there was no point in him coming out as he had other calls to take care of.

We were treated as a waste of time, despite the fact that we had NO AC and it was over 90 degrees.

We were scheduled for the next day at 1pm, which got shifted to 2pm with no explanation. The technician arrived at 1:45pm and stayed in his truck until 2pm before looking at our system.

After another 1.5 hours of looking, the technician stated that there was ACTUALLY a leak in one of the coils on the OUTSIDE unit, and when asked if that was something that the other techs should have caught, the technician said that they had better equipment, but it was possible it was missed. before being told it would be ANOTHER $5k to fix the issue.

Upon mentioning that we were advised wrong and were already charged $5k to fix the issue, the technician shrugged, stating they could try to have a supervisor call us, but it could take up to 2 days to hear from them, during the hottest week of the summer.

If this is how members are treated, i can't imagine how poorly they treat non-members.

NEVER choose these CROOKS, they will lie to you, take your money, do a terrible repair job, and when they don't fix the problem, they will charge more to fix THEIR mistakes

used this company for a tenant occupied home for an emergency repair. I received an e-mail recently in which it states I am entitled to an inspection due to the AGREEMENT I PURCHASED. I did not purchase any agreement with them I was not there so they must have sold this so called agreement to the TENANT. When I stated again that I was not present at the time they did the work a tenant was  to their phone representative who was EXTREMELY RUDE  she said there is NO REFUNDS ALLOWED. I tried to inform her that this was just an emergency my son-in-law is a professional plumber I use him this was just a one time thing because he was out of town. The representative also tried to scare me by saying they record all calls so they will pull up their records and listen to me buying this warranty from them I said you go ahead and do just that also is it not illegal to records calls you make to me without my knowledge and permission? I feel very violated and taken advantage of by this company. BEWARE BEFORE YOU USE THIS WHAT I FEEL IS A VERY DISHONEST COMPANY AT ANYTIME.

It was freezing weather and our furnace was failing. The exhaust gas fan was off balance due to a broken vane.
I called my trusted HVAC company but learned they had been acquired by Thomas Galbraith so, not being the suspicious type, I invited them over. I also told them the part number I needed to complete the repair.
The technician arrived on time but did not have the part. He then told me that another technician would arrive the next day, with the part, and that I now owe $94 for his trip. He also said that this was a flat rate repair, that the cost would be $882 and that my $94 would be applied to the total if I agree to let them complete the repair.
The reader should know that the replacement fan sells for $240 retail, I won't tell you what wholesale distributers charge. I called the dispatcher and asked why the tech didn't have the part I requested. Not knowing I have been doing HVAC for 40 years, she replied that the tech must always make a determination. That means you will always be charged $94 even if you decide to not proceed with repairs. Then I asked the dispatcher why the labor charge was nearly $600 per hour and she said, Well, we have to keep our technicians trained. Neither of these facts were offered when I made the first call.

Wow. What a scam.
That was November 21st, 2017 and the replacement fan performs as designed. So, if you like fast, reliable service at an astronomical rate, feel free to call Thomas Galbraith. They will be happy to oblige.

Be cautious: if you get C.....  do NOT let him do work on your hvac.  Our heat was working fine when he came in.  It was broken when he left.  And a large service estimate afterwards.
On a positive note: the technician that worked on our AC in a previous visit did an EXCELLENT job.  Very happy with his work.

Had to many problems , but the one that really hurt my feelings was that my sheet of uncut two dollar bills in a picture frame was stolen out of my basement.  I called to tell the lady and she said they don't hire criminal, well they have one. That really got to me because, here I am trusting these people to come in and do work for me. Moving things around and out the way to get to the pipes, that's when they discovered the picture. It's a shame. Every time I go down into my basement i think about it.

Based of my horrible experience with this company I have reported them to the BBB in the hopes that they will be help accountable for the damage caused to our furnace unit. Thomas & Galbraith standard AC tune up caused damage to our furnace that were happy to fix for us for an additional $2500.
As a bonus, the service manager is a like petulant child you can't have a proper conversation with. I wish I never had used them in the first place.

It has been my worst experience ever, I requested for garbage disposal unit repair service, I was told that I would be charged $94 for coming down and checking things out.

Technician arrived on 11/17 and initial check realized it the fuse tripped at the fuse board. One flip and the unit started working. Nothing was done in terms of opening the unit, nothing was done. I get whooping bill of $ 169, for no work done by them. It is minimum we charge was the answer, I did not want disrespect and realized I would call the company to straighten it out.

I call them and later get a call from their manager saying you are lucky we did not charge an extra $94.

In this COVID times, as we struggle to keep our family running and save money, we have companies that are exploiting us.

I am deeply saddened and feel cheated with this service provider. I expect them to be human when customers bring up their concerns and share genuine pain.

These people are scam artists. Do not use this company! Customer service is terrible. In the winter, our heater went out we spent 400+ dollars when all it needed was to be cleaned. The guy told me he put in a new hose because ours was cracked, but didn't have the proper high-temp hose so he had to come back another time to put that in, which would cost an additional 99 dollars since he had to come back, he said he wouldn't charge me for the new part though (which was a few bucks)..really.....all because he was not prepared with the proper hose.
He roped me in with the annual service agreement because it would cost me less at that time, and I would get an a/c tune-up in the summer. (It also waives the service fee, so why did I have to pay 99 dollars when he came back the next week with the right part?) Well guess when the earliest they could come give me my already paid for tune-up? At the end of August!!! The end of the summer to give our A/c a tune-up. Ya, that sounds like a great deal. This company is ridiculous. Can't believe they are still in business. Well, I'm guessing that's why they had to change their name, too many poor reviews under the previous name.

Edited to add that the service man spent most of his time here chatting with someone on his phone, then asked to use my microwave to heat up his coffee because it took so long at my house.... unprofessional!

We needed our drains cleaned out and we called thomas and galbraith plumbing on sunday and they called back on monday, then they sent out Brandon Justice on Tuesday , such fast service and it wasn't a emergency.  Brandon was on time and so knowledgeable about plumbing, he explained everything in detail and we even learned some things, he was very polite and didn't try to sell us things that we didn't want , very upfront pricing. We loved the service so much, we decided to schedule another appointment for some work on our bathroom. So now we will stick with this company for all of our needs. Thanks Brandon

I would give no star!!!! We called this company because of a leaking toilet that would not stop. We were well aware of weekend charges, but what to do with a leak on the weekend. We have a home warranty but we wanted it fixed today. We waited over two hours for a technician to come to our home. We had to shut off the main water supply and it's our only bathroom. When he came he looked at the issue and said I won't be able to get to that until Wednesday I'm a busy guy!  I was really upset when he said we owed him 150 dollars to show up and not do anything. He was only at our home for 5 minutes. He was asked to leave. I will not do business with this business again!!!!!

I would steer clear. Bought an HVAC system about 6 or 7 years ago. People are friendly, but they are expensive. Been with the maintenance program the whole time, many times something new they want to sell you. They say the warranty will be void if you aren't with their maintenance program. The latest thing they said was that there was a static pressure issue that needed to be addressed. I asked the tech when it was checked last, he looked through the notes and never. Asked why it wasn't checked when it was installed, nothing. They want to charge 199 for someone to come out just to look at it. Of course not part of the maintenance program.   Before, the air filter. When it was first put in it had a filter you just sparyed off and I was told never to use anything else. Later, a tech said to use a disposable one, and that they sold them.  Latest visit also included 3 additional things to buy that were recommended and several other optional thing, like a new system board. They also said they would recommend cleaning air ducts for 500 and change, we have about 10 vents and this seemed over priced when I started researching average price in my area.  So bottom line, feels like if you get involved it's going to be hard to know what recommendations are really needed.

Used a coupon from the paper to get a system tune-up.  The technician smelled like smoke and was moving around lethargically.  I don't think he really did anything.  He didn't even go in the basement and look at the furnace.  He told me of all these problems I had with my system that sounded unbelievable considering I just bought the house and had the home inspected.  Among the things mentioned were I had the wrong type of coolant in my A/C unit.  My gut feeling was that he wasn't being honest and trying to bill for extra services.

Thomas & Galbraith acquired Jacob Bros. last year, whom we have used for our heating and cooling maintenance for the past 14 years.  Jacob Brothers were exceptional to work with year after year.

Be aware of the Thomas & Galbraith Spring & Fall Maintenance Program.  It's their way of getting in your home and making your system fail so they can offer various options which can run from $200 to $2000.  Two difference instances my furnace and/or AC unit was running fine until they showed up for the Fall or Spring Maintenance Program that you pay for upfront.

I asked for the $90 refund of the upcoming Fall Maintenance Program.  They would not refund it because they said I signed a contract.

I called to make an appointment because I had water leaking from the base of my toilet. A Google search for Cincinnati plumbers advertised $80 off T&G. I found a $100 off coupon on their website. The person who answered the phone said I just needed to present my coupon upon payment.

Tracey arrived on time, but smelling strongly of body odor and cigarette smoke. He quickly jumped to the conclusion that we needed a whole new toilet. We definitely want a second opinion because (not that I'm an expert) we were thinking we just needed our wax seal replaced. He told us our options were a $500, $600 or $900 brand new toilet. He wouldn't accept the coupon because we didn't have a service plan (which was not specified as required on the coupon itself or with the representative I spoke with on the phone).

Bottom line, the whole thing felt very salesy and unprofessional. We paid $93 for him to come smell up my house and do nothing. Won't ever call them again.

I got an estimate to replace an air conditioner. It was double what the my normal HVAC man charges.

Run run run away from these guys they are way overpriced. So obviously I have no experience with their work but their prices are ridiculous.

Our toilets were constantly running in 3 of our bathrooms so we reached out to Thomas & Galbraith. Friendly lady scheduled the appointment for the following day. When the technician arrived I explained what was going on.  He went in our 1st floor bathroom removed the cover. Looked around and said it needs a full rebuild. He did not go and inspect any of the other toilets . He supplied with with 2 quotes one being a rebuild of all 3 toilets and another one with simply replacing the toilets. They were in excess of over $2000! Including some kind of maintenance plan. I did not feel comfortable especially when he did not even look at the other toilets. We decided to get another opinion. Come to find out the only toilet he inspected only had a kink in the chain! It was fixed in 30 seconds! After he inspected the other toilets they needed a $6.23 part. Long story short they apparently try to take advantage of people that are asking for help and don't understand. We got all toilets fixed for less than $100. I will tell everyone about my experience with Thomas & Galbraith. Bad business practice!

Thomas and Galbraith came to my house to check the sewer drain...it was backed up. Someone came out to run the camera down to see where the problem was. He said that the problem was 3 ft shy of MSDS issue. So he made the marking in my front lawn and emailed me an estimate of $4,300. to start. Well I made a few phone calls and was told to contact MSDS. MSDS came out and the distance of public right of way was WELL INTO my property. I will never call them again and would never refer a company that LIES to make money.

If I could give zero stars, I would.  Service call to fix toilet.  Didn't even look inside the toilet.  Flushed it once and told me it would have to be replaced or rebuilt. Ten minutes & $94 if my money later, he was gone.  Estimate for the rebuild was $700.  Unbelievable con artists.  Will never use them again

If a zero star possible that would be my rating. The installation was done with a trainee and took a long time for a dishwasher with frequent redirections noted. The machine is fine but after running the machine for the first time a issue occurred.  Where the dishwasher was connected to the sink and disposal they had not tightened appropriately and a leak occurred.  I noticed the next afternoon after work when emptying the dishwasher. It sat under the sink and destroyed the hardwood in front of the connection. The company was negligent and was evasive in checking into the issue and subsequently has denied any responsibility. Also have the nerve to threaten to send us to collections. Never will use or recommend and will hope to hinder their business as clearly not customer oriented.

Similar stories like others who got a overcharged quote from this company, and payed a service fee without anything got done. I was lucky to have my water line issue solved by costing $0 through the City instead of $12,000 through Thomas & Galbraith. Even I have to pay by myself, the cost will be around $3000 - $4000 because there is a easier and more advanced route to got the problem fixed.

Seems like this company does their business through lying by omissions and exaggerations, which is unbelievable considering the resources and information people can get from different sources. I'm so glad reviews for this company truly reflect it's quality of service. Plumber is a respectful professional as people have to rely on their professional skills and opinions to choose what to do for their homes. I'm very disappointed by this company and will never choose them again.

Our plumbing tech, Evie, was awesome!! We had her install a new bathroom vanity/sink/faucet and a second bathroom faucet as well as a new toilet filter valve. Lots of work to be done...and during a pandemic. She explained what she was going to do, kept us updated during her work, made recommendations, answered our questions and was extremely polite. And she wore a mask the whole time she was here. We appreciated Evie explaining plumbing things in a way we could easily understand. She was personable, funny & professional...the perfect mix. We will definitely ask for Evie by name when scheduling future plumbing work with Thomas & Galbraith.

No such thing as 0 stars, if that gives you any idea how this review is going to go.  Funny that while I'm writing this review  their estimate sits in front of me and their slogan is, the most important comfort we provide is trust.
My mom's toilet wouldn't flush so of course a plumber was her first call.  Thank God, we don't have much experience with plumbers as we haven't had many major issues but this does leave us at a disadvantage on who to call.
Thomas & Galbraith, being a known company in the area, this is who she called. Her estimate to fix the clog was $19,980.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Almost $20,000 to unclog a toilet.  They were kind enough, however, to get her a list of what this would include.  This would include replacing her Galvanized pipes with simple, inexpensive, pvc.  It also includes a new 50 gallon water heater, chrome risers for her claw foot tub.  (I don't know why I didn't think of this before!  Of course, her claw foot tub was causing her toilet not to flush!) and it also included new outside hose faucets and a comfort height toilet.
When my mom showed distress over such a huge estimate, she was told that if they take off the new toilet they would lower the estimate to $16,000.  Now listen, I appreciate my mom. She did a lot for me growing up.   But this girl wasn't raised sitting on $3,000 toilets?!?!?!  Are you kidding me??  I have it right here in black and white folks.
SHAME ON THOMAS AND GALBRAITH AND SHAME ON JOSH CLARK FOR TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY MOM!!  You are the EXACT reason why single, retired ladies feel bad about relying so heavily on their sons and sons and laws.  They can't trust men like you!
By they way, her issue was fixed for $89.  Please read my following reviews.

i had a brand new AC/Heating system installed 5 years ago, and paid for a 15 year warranty. the AC unit has never worked correctly, as it freezes up every single summer, every single time a tech (all but one tech were extremely nice and knowlegeable)  came out they told me that it is my fault as i should change my filters more often. By this time  last year in 2022 i was changing them every 3 months at $50 a filter, and still the AC freezes up. i called again in late July of 2022 and somehow a sales rep was sent to my home instead of a technician. he advised me that the original unit (sold by him) was the incorrect size for my home, and that he would have the issue resolved ASAP under my warranty. as of today, 07/14/2023, i have called several times, requested to speak with a manager, received only one call back, and no followup after he said he would review the account and call me back in a day or 2.  i have left messages with the answering service and with the actual people answering the phones during the day.all my calls have never been returned. i filed a complaint with the BBB 8 days ago, and i have heard nothing back, while i can clearly see that almost all of the complaints that have been filed with the BBB for T&G have been responded to in at least 1-3 business days. All this time, 5 years later,  i sit here with a $10k AC unit and NO AIR CONDITIONING THAT WORKS. i have paid T&G for 2 duct cleanings, a new electronic filter system, and my AC still freezes up as soon as it gets over 80 degrees outside. I just want to know why NO ONE WITHIN YOUR COMPANY WILL ANSWER ME, OR CALL ME BACK, OR RESPOND TO ANYTHING. please let me know if i can use a different company to honor my warranty at this point, Thomas and Galbraith claims they are built on trust and customer service, i do not believe one word of that. I will not choose thomas and galbraith in the future as the lack of care about their customers is beyond dissapointing. I am at a total loss of what to do next other than to contact an Attorney.

In June I scheduled an appointment with Thomas & Galbraith because my kitchen faucet started dripping from the handle.  The schedulers were kind and competent.

Technician Don Lavoie arrived onsite when my wife was home, and she recounted how disrespected, down-talked, and upsold she felt.

In addition to the $98 dispatch fee (which I understand), Don generated 7 quotes for us.  6 of the quotes were between $5935 and $7920.  The cheapest was $752.  She sent him away with only the dispatch fee paid.

Here's the kicker (thanks to my father-in-law):  My kitchen faucet is covered by Kohler's manufacturer warranty for free cartridge replacements.  I did that instead, and it cost me $0 and 5 minutes of my labor.

Shame on Thomas & Galbraith for not even telling me this was an option.

I'm sure Thomas & Galbraith do great work ... but I've got to question if this would have gone differently if I were the one home instead of my wife.

Recommend avoiding.

EDIT:  Kudos to T&G for responding to this review.  However, sad that Tina didn't address how none of Don's 7 quotes were for the simplest fix:  A cartridge replacement.

We were told we had a bad ignitor and a bad main circuit board.

We were given 2 quotes,

Quote#1. This quote was for the replacement of both parts without enrolling in their seasonal maintenance plan, $209 for replacement of the ignitor and $777 for replacement of the main circuit board ($986 Total).

Quote #2. This quote was for replacement of both parts with enrollment into their seasonal maintenance plan, $177 for replacement of the ignitor and $660 for replacement of the main circuit board, plus $189 for the cost to enroll in the seasonal maintenance plan ($1026).

I had a coupon for a free service call. If I had not had that coupon I would have also had to have paid an additional $94 for the service call with Quote#1

While I thought it made sense needing a new ignitor something in my gut told me that I should get a second opinion because needing a new main circuit board just did not sound right to me and it also sounded like a sales pitch. So I paid the $94 service call and told the service guy that I would get back to him about the repairs.

We called another company and had them look at the furnace the next day and was told that the main circuit board was fine and that there were no indications that the main circuit board needed to be replaced at all. The ignitor was replaced and now the furnace works just fine.

The service guy at Thomas & Galbraith lied and tried to mislead me to believe that I needed to replace a part that was perfectly fine. I was lied to and will not use this company ever again nor will I recommend this company to anyone I know in need of any of the services they provide.

Had this company come out to replace my ac and furnace back in February, install took one day.  Had them come back a few weeks ago once I noticed the unit was not working, also found out they did not wire the fan to run independently (only runs if on heat or cool) they said they would replace the thermostat wire.  Two techs come out and instead of replacing the thermostat wire they just pull the 24v wire from the thermostat and swap it with the missing wire to the fan.   Was told after the install a tech would come out in the spring to check the air conditioning, they never did.  Today my air conditioning is not working, I put a service call in and they can't give me a time to have a tech come out to fix their mistakes.  Save your money if your looking for hvac work and choose a better company.

I have spent around 20,000 on repairs to my sewer and now am being ignored. All I want is for them to finish the repair of my neighbors yard. The first time around was ok. But then the spot repair didn't work and I had to have them come out to replace the rest of the line that runs through my neighbors yard. Kept getting the run around for a month. A month without being able to use anything in my house. A month of staying in and out of hotels just to shit and shower. Now they won't even take a payment from me for the rest of what I owe. How does a company not want money. Keep getting told I will be called back. Ya thats been going on for weeks. Evertime I call same result with no call back. Quality of work seems ok but customer service sucks. I won't use them again.

I called Thomas and Galbraith because my blower stopped working while I was out of town. My wife was in the house by herself with two kids and it was 90+ degrees outside. I'm a mechanical engineer and knew exactly what was wrong with the system. I talked to the tech beforehand and told him what was wrong. I still got the $94 diagnostic fee. The blower motor was bad. They charged me $740 including the diagnostic fee. I asked for a cost breakdown and the tech got super defensive on the phone and told me he couldn't give me a cost breakdown of the $740. That motor cost at most $100 and it takes me about an hour to do. To them, that do it on a regular basis, about 30 mins. That is crazy. My neighbor got the same service done the previous week with a different company and the total cost was $300. When I got home from my business trip and saw the receipt then I understood their method. There were two options:

A) Pay $648 + $94 = $742 to replace the motor.

B ) Do a 1 year maintenance plan and they will change the cost for the service mentioned above from $742 to $551 plus the service plan of $189 which brings the total to $740.
So you save $2 with the maintenance plan right? This is just a dishonest method of forcing you to buy their maintenance plan. $551 sounds closer to what this service should cost.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Service call for malfunctioning toilet on Oct 3.  Technician told me that the toilet was not worth fixing and he quoted a price over $800 for a better brand.  He did not approve of the brand in the house even though it was after market and fairly new.  I turned down the offer and had to pay the $99.00 free service call levied because I did not accept his offer. Three days later, I hired a handyman who fixed the toilet with a $15.00 flapper gasket! I have made three attempts to reach management by telephone in response to come on, free this or that offers in the mail. They promise return calls and nada! Why am I not surprised to note the very low rating on this site.  Guess my negative review will go in with the other sad stories.  Good riddance!

I bought a complete HVAC system, with 15yr parts and labor warranty, which was the only reason I went with them. Unknown to me at the time I had to have them do very overpriced, twice a year tune-ups through them. I called in Oct. to schedule a heating tune-up to make sure the furnace was ok and safe. The earliest appointment was Feb. 26th. basically the end of the heating season, and close to the start of the cooling season. I decided to call and let them know that I wanted to get another Carrier dealer come sooner and do the tune-up since they were so far behind. I just got off the phone with a customer service Rep. named Mark who was very RUDE, did not want to listen to my concerns and told me that I had to get the tune-up through them or no warranty!!! I asked to speak to a supervisor or the service manager, was told they were not available but he would have someone call me. SURE that will happen! If I could give less than 1 Star I would. Watch out for the small print. Never again. Better to go with the little guy.

They are horrible. I paid $3,300 to have my HVAC fixed. The next year it breaks and they install a kicker to switch the unit from heating to cooling. The next summer the same problem persists. I'm not giving them any more of my money. Their manager said that one summer is like putting 100,000 miles on a car. So I asked him if the units only last 2 1/2 years and he said I was getting smart with him and that he was disconnecting the call. What a joke!!!

We had an emergency sewage problem and called them. Originally said they'd be out before 10pm but then couldn't. The next morning we call asking for an update and they didn't have a timeline. They finally came out around 2p which was 2hrs shy of 24 hours since calling. Still had to pay an emergency fee. We then had to wait 2 days for a camera to come to look in the pipes. They also told us we needed to cut our tree down, and brand new pipes in the front yard. Quoted us $10,000+. We had 2 small companies say the tree didn't need to be cut down. A local company came out and told us the pipes didn't need replaced and only charged us $3,000 for our issue. Highly recommend A All Valley and Plumbing

Go elsewhere... I had my furnace replaced at the end of November (probably due to lack of maintenance which they never informed me of during their annual service tune ups)  and I've had a terrible time getting my new thermostat installed. I was told at the sales pitch they would be able to do it once it was delivered to my house. I was then told by a service tech (who walked in and said he had never seen one and didn't know what he was doing) that I'd have to cut holes in the wall to cross wires when the previous installer said I would not need to do that. It's been 2 weeks of trying to have the install scheduled with no response from anyone except sporadically the salesperson who doesn't seem to have any connect with the service team.

I had similar service issues when they replaced my air conditioner in 2014 and gave them another chance because I still had time remaining on my service agreement but I'll be having someone else install my thermostat and take over service from now on because I have no desire to give them any more of my time or money.

Horrific experience with predatory practices is the best way to describe the latest interaction. A simple drain cleaning for $98 was scheduled for my 77 year old mother since I could not clear the blockage and Josh showed up at about 9:39am. he looked under the sink and say he only makes an assessment and doesn't clean drains. He then proceeded to poke fun at the previous work done by my late father which hadn't had a problem in over 25 years and even when my mother pointed that out he still said he did it wrong. All day was wasted waiting for someone else to call about coMing to clean the drain. Brandon finally came after 4:00, proceeded to needle my mother over my late father's plumbing work that had no problems for 25 years. even knowing he had passed Brandon still demeaned the work repeatedly then slapped a $1369 estimate to replace all the pipes in the basement and cut in a vent in the home's roof. he was told he was supposed to clean the drain only and that's all and he replied, oh that was Josh's job. then proceeded to try and push a $1400 repair job that doesn't need to be done. these two mistakenly saw an opportunity to try and take advantage of a little old lady by demeaning my late father and back talking the estimate with the inability to explain what all the charges were. Unethical and predatory!

T&G replaced our hot water heater at the end of September. The price was the lowest of three estimates (and included parts, labor, and permitting) and so we chose them. The two gentlemen who installed the hot water heater were kind and professional. However, the very next day we went to run our washer and immediately heard something that can only be described as 'house shaking slamming' coming from our basement. We ran down and watched all of our pipes violently shake every time the water turned on and off from our washer. The entire hot water heater would rock and shake in the pan. I've never seen anything like it. Additionally, any valve we would open then shut off in the home (flushing the toilet, turning the sinks on and off) would produce a less dramatic version of this loud slamming.
I called T&G and got them out there right away. The manager that came did an inspection and then quickly decided our pressure reducer from the street was bad (this was just a guess, it was testing fine and had tested fine on the day of installation as well). He said he would replace it for $500. I told him that we were not going to pay a dollar to have anything replaced, as we had no plumbing issues prior to the day we had a new hot water heater installed. The only thing that had changed with our plumbing between one day and the next was that two gentlemen from T&G had spent an afternoon working on our plumbing. The manager said that our plumbing breaking on the day that T&G began working on our plumbing was pure coincidence and against all odds. He then told me that if push came to shove and I wouldn't pay then he could allege that we had sabotaged it ourselves and we couldn't prove him wrong. He called his manager and I overheard his manager say that If some part of our plumbing broke in the process of them working on it, it's not their fault. This company has a complete lack of accountability. Much arguing ensued and eventually he agreed to rifle around downstairs until he fixed the problem. He's not sure how he fixed the problem, but he did finally. When I asked how the permitting would be scheduled with the county, he said they'd take care of it immediately and to expect a call in the next week or two.
A month passes with no call from the county. I called T&G and was made aware that no one ever sent in a request with the county to have this permitted. A full month later, T&G finally advises the county that we need permits. Another week passes with no call from the county. I call T&G again and am given the run around. A week passes. I call T&G and am told T&G will call me in 48 hours. 48 hours passes with no call. I call T&G yet again, am told there's nothing they can do and they don't even know what department to call at the county/city. We just sold our home and in two days it is due to be inspected by a home inspector. We are still in limbo and our hot water heater will not have any of its permits.

This company completely lacks accountability and its managers are unprofessional. I nearly gave it two stars for the kindness of its installers and it's good price but decided that one star was best, since our water heater wasn't properly installed and we still haven't gotten what we paid for (other companies will install the hot water heaters cheaper but they won't be permitted).

Total rip off.  We were concerned about the age of our sump pump since we had just purchased a 25 year old home. The technician said we needed to replace the primary  sump pump, which if we purchased one from Lowes would have cost about $150.  However, at the end of 1 1/2 hours, we owed $750 and magically had a one year membership to Thomas & Galbraith for $109!  I called to question the membership fee since the technician did not mention it when he was at our house.  I was told she would look into it and call me back.  No return call.  Additionally, I asked for an itemized bill - materials and labor costs.  I was told they don't do that.  I would NOT recommend using Thomas and Galbraith.

I had a kitchen sink that was stopped up for days. I tried everything, plunging and Draino and nothing worked.
I finally called Thomas and Galbraith, the price was right, $93 to unclog or it's free.
I set up an appointment ad the tech was very nice and courteous and was masked for COVID. Before long, the drain was cleared and running great and I got a one year guarantee. The tech also cleaned the gunk from the sink an fixed the garbage disposal.
Very satisfied with the service I received.

Should have a place for ZERO STARS. . water heater not working called them came out, said our water softening system and was the cause of the water heater not working. . Quoted $6grand for a new softener and water heater.   Didn't even TOUCH the water heater.  Told them no thanks.  Found later the breaker had tripped and water heater works fine.  Charged us a $95.00 service fee, didn't even touch the damn thing. . After receiving a coupon in the mail for $93 to clear a line or it is free, we had one of their plumbers out. After wasting three hours of our time, they said they were unable to clear the line. They said that they would have to have another person come out with a camera to figure out the problem. There was more time wasted. When their certified camera tech came out he did not even bother running the camera. He said the line was below water, and that it was a whole other problem. We called out another company to look at the problem Thomas and Galbraith (T&G) said we had.  Not only did the other company's guy say the line was not below water, he said that if the amount of line the T&G plumber said he ran was run, it would have been tangled in our tank. The guy from the other company then reached his arm into the line that was NOT underwater, and pulled out a fist full of roots. He said the liquid level (which was pumped less than 6 months ago,) was exactly where it should be. When my husband called T&G to see if they were going to infact clear the line, they said another method would need to be used. T&G quoted FOUR times the amount of the other company. They were insistent that my husband still use them because we were not charged for the first call. Not being charged was part of the coupon, not a special exception. Suffice it to say, we are going with the other company.

Useless service contract! Purchased a 5 year contract in Oct 2017 and every since they got my money, they act like I don't exist.  Contacted them in early summer to schedule a pre-season furnace tune up last year.  They wanted to schedule it for sometime in December! When I complained they told me the earliest was the last week in November.  Not what I call pre-season.  At the same time I scheduled my next year pre-season air conditioned tune up and they gave me a March date.  Was happy, until they decided not to do any maintenance because of Covid 19.  When they finally contacted me to reschedule the appointment, I was told the soonest would be in September! Obviously, a bit late for pre-season.  I have called twice to complain and was told I would get a call back.  Waited for over a week and no call.  Obviously, since they have my money, they don't care.  Can't get a refund for unused visits since they say I had to cancel within 3 days of signing the contract. A waste of $799. Will be contacting the BBB after completing this review,

The up-charging plumbers of the Cincinnati area.   I had a home inspection completed with minor finds.  I agreed to have a plumber come out and fix these minor issues, and he treated me like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about.  Tried charging me over $2000.  Just because I'm not a plumber doesn't mean you should take advantage of me.   I cancelled the service and went with someone else.  Avoid these up charging companies.  Find someone with good customer service, who cares about you and doesn't try to rob you.

I used to have a great relationship with this company but no more. We will start with the plumbing. Originally had them out to give a quote on 3 split unit A/C's in early May. Got a quote, liked the price and accepted. At the same time our hot water heater went out and they had a specisl $999 for an installed hot water heater. Talk to the salesman. Oh no, I don't even know why we say that.  There's no way it's that price. You need an expansion tank. It's $1399.  They come out, install it and the tech tells my wife you don't need an expansion tank, I have no idea why your salesman would say that.  Still charges us $1399. I come home and there's no expansion tank and the hot water heater goes out because it's leaking!  Had to wait 24 hours to get someone to fix the plumbing that they didn't seal correctly.

Fast forward a week. We get a tech to come out and give us a site survey for the A/C install. Everything goes good. We get to two days from our install date and we get a call that the guy who walked the job, quit and didn't order anything. We will need to send someone else out to walk the job. I wasn't happy but it is what it is. A week later two techs show up, walk the job, no issues. They scheduled the install one week later. Well fast forward to today. 24 hours before install. They call me and CANCEL the project. They think the roof is too steep. Absolutely ridiculous. For an entire month this project was a go.

I think they underbid the project and then walked away. I will never do business with a Thomas and Galbraith again and I HIGHLY recommend you don't either. Their service and install is the WORST.

I actually had to call them out again about a couple months later for the same symptoms, and because I was now having to change out the main air filter every week and a half. It really should be once a month even though I have three dogs. But the tech who came out was more thorough than the other one and realized that there was a little build up or temporary corrosion on the connectors of a sensorThat monitors for the presence of the igniter flame. And it is dependent on whether or not it the text of claim as to whether it will run the furnace and pushy throughout the house. Once he clean the contacts it was working great again. Apparently this is a part of maintenance that should be done maybe every six months to a year. It's great to have the furnace working again.

Our AC was not working. The technician quoted us $2800 to put in a new motor and capacitor. He told us that they could not guarantee that this would be a long term fix. I asked for a quote to put in a new system. They sent out a salesman who said that I should buy a new system. He said I would get a quote by email that same day. I never received that quote. I called the office with no luck. They sent me an email a week later to see if I wanted to go ahead with the quote. I wrote back that I never received a quote. After I sent that to them I never heard back from them again. In the end I had another company charge me $550 for the same work that T&G wanted $2800. What a waste of time.

Terrible. Had a blocked pipe. They broke off my clean-out while trying to snake it. Then advised us that they needed to tear up the floor to replace sections of pipe for about $3000.
Called Roto-Rooter for a second look. Roto-Rooter fixed the blockage and cleanout for $300 (without needing to tear up my floor) Thomas and Galbraith were also combative, argumentative, and completely unprofessional during the whole process.

I would be careful doing business with this company.  For the first time in 7 years, I hired them to do a furnace tune-up before winter (hired in September) They sent a technician onsite and I was told that everything was in working order.  Fast forward to December and I woke up to a 60 degree house.  I called at 7:45AM and was told that all technicians were on service calls and that they could not give me an ETA but they would send a technician.  After 4 hours, I did not hear back from them.

The pre-service tune-up is my reason for concern.  Their marketing material as well as their website states (No Breakdown Guarantee) the fine print also states see dealer for details on discounts, warranties, and guarantees.  When I first called in, I notified them of the pre-service tune up and asked what the No Breakdown Guarantee included, and was told that it only covered if they determined the breakdown was due to something the technician did wrong.   After not hearing back from them in 4 hours, I called and cancelled my service call.  I then asked if I could get a copy of what was included with the No Breakdown Guarantee and was then told, that they didn't have any documentation on that and basically if there was a service call , the tune-up cost would be applied towards any service charges.  I asked if I could get that in writing and was told they don't have that in writing either.  A service call is more expensive than a tune-up.

I would stay away from a business that offers a hollow guarantee in order to gain a new client contact.  I would consider this a deceptive business practice.

We've had our new Carrier Furnace and Payne air-conditioner for just a couple days now but I thought I'd write a review of the installation experience. On Wednesday morning, the saleman that we dealt with (Jared) called to tell me that the installers were running behind and would be a bit late. They were about an hour late but that wasn't a huge problem and they were dressed in nice uniforms and were ready to go to work. With very little required of me, they tore out the old furnace and put in the new unit and even cleaned up after themselves. They managed to have my heat working (it was November) for the night. The next morning, they returned on time and went to work on the new AC unit located in the back yard. once again, they worked with very little input from me only letting me know what they were doing when they stepped out for lunch or ran to the warehouse to get another part. After the install was complete, the installer gave me the directions booklet for the programmable thermostat and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it. Overall, they was very efficient and seemed to be quite competent and thorough.

My parents used them for the first time to have an annual maintenance as they had a coupon. Don't waste your money with this dishonest company! They came out and without their permission started taking a bunch of pictures of their system and talking about all the things that needed to be fixed or replaced. Then the next day the blower motor started running when it hadn't before so they called them out again and they said oh nothing is wrong so now we have to charge you a service call. This blower motor was not doing this before they did the annual maintenance so it's something they did. We are calling for our money back and have to call someone else to repair or BBB complaint is next.

8/1/2022 at approximately 11am I witnessed a Thomas & Galbraith van driving recklessly at I-75 south. Weather was poor and the driver travelled at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out, cutting off multiple cars without signaling.

This kind of driving, especially at bad weather, is totally unacceptable. The driver of this company puts people's life at risk and should be ashamed of themselves.

I scheduled this company to do a tune-up on my furnace after I saw a coupon in the paper, advertising a discount price for new customers. Big mistake!  I was scheduled for an 8 AM appointment. At 10:15 no one had shown up yet, so I called. I was told that my technician was en route to my home. Then there was a pause, and the rep explained that my technician wasn't scheduled to begin work until noon that day, so they would dispatch the next available technician.  The technician called me at 11:30, and said he'd be there in about 45 minutes.  He showed up at 12:22, and was finished 10 minutes later.  When I called the company and asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told she wasn't available and that she would return my call.  That was 3 days ago, and I haven't heard from anyone.  Lesson learned. I will NOT use this company again-ever.

Just wanted to get a ballpark estimate for a sump pump replacement. Something like 'a sump pump is normally between $ and $$ depending on horsepower and type. Installation is normally around $$ but could be more depending on, etc...'.

However they appear unable to do that without charging around $100 for a service call. Figured they had been in the business for awhile and could give me some sort of clue on typical cost without charging me (since I've never had one replaced before). Will keep looking or try it myself.

Fine powder coming out of our duct work.  You secured or sealed our air duct system AND cleaned ducts as well. It took about 45 minutes for the cleaning process......
There has been NO change with the powder substance output. After researching we have read that the cleaning process should/could have taken 2-4 hours.  11 registers
Just very very disappointed and now trying to find another company that will resolve our issue once and for all

I am beyond upset about the service they provided me in 2020. I had a spot drain fix on main sewer line outside and the drain in my basement fixed because that's what was advised. Raymond said they cleared all the roots and removed the bad pipes and added pvc pipes which needed to be done to clear up the blockage issue.  They gave me the estimate I asked if this would really fix my blockage issue they said yes and the work was guaranteed for ten years  which now I'm finding out it has Only a 5yr warranty. Now fast forward to now and I'm finding out they never cleared all the tree roots to begin with which is no causing more problem. The sad part is I'm still paying on the job from 2020. Every-time I ask to speak to a supervisor and they say they can't give me the number. if they don't come out and fix the issue I will have to file a lawsuit

Paid to have them clean the furnace. They didn't clean any surface in the furnace. And the said they would fix insulation on the AC lines but left without doing so and I didn't realize this until they were gone. I reached out to ask them to finish the work and they stopped responding.

Caleb and Tucker performed an AC tune-up and were very thorough. Our air handler is in the attic and not easy to get to. They performed all checks there. When coming down from the attic they cleaned up every little bit of insulation that fell on the floor before proceeding outside to check the exterior unit. They used a water hose to clean out accumulated debris. There was a lot since we live in the woods. They called to let me know they were coming and how long it would take them to get here.

I called Thomas Galbraith after my sump pump malfunctioned, and I had $15,000 water damage in my basement.  I asked on the phone for a ball-park estimate and was told they had to come out to give the estimate.  So I had them come out, and I was told it would be $751, or $740 (if I bought a membership), so I chose the latter.  I had a free service call coupon, but of course, if I didn't go with their repair, I couldn't use it and would have to pay $94 for the service call.  I didn't want to do that and start all over searching for someone, since it was still raining outside, and I didn't need any more water.  The technician told me they had a competitive rate.  The next day, my neighbor called and asked me what had happened when he saw the repair truck, so I told him.  He decided since our houses are the same age, he would go ahead and replace his sump pump, to avoid water damage like I had.  I found out he paid $350 from a local reputable plumbing company.  I have been overcharged $400, and I called to express my concerns, and I was promptly told that they are competitive and nothing would be done about their charges.

After $15,000 worth of damage and my insurance only covering $5,000, I feel very violated by Thomas Galbraith.  If they would have even offered me a $100 credit, I wouldn't be writing this review.

Dont use Thomas Galbraith unless you want to pay too much!

Our one year old AC unit was working just fine. Thomas and Galbraith completed standard maintenance and the AC never came up after their visit. Their technician owned up to the situation but management wanted $2500 for parts replacement.

T&G management wanted nothing to do with the breakdown and would make up any possible scenario to get out of the situation. They even said the system was broken before... then why did you do the maintenance, charge full price and not point out the system is not running?

Another company was 40% cheaper for same parts but we were seven days without HVAC in July heat.

Very dishonest managers in this company. I wish I had seen these one star reviews before I gave them any business.

service was good but they tried to charge me 250.00 for a part I bought for 10.00 and had another tech install for 35.00 for total of 45.00.  A 2500% mark up try by T&G.  No wonder the tune up special was so reasonable.

I have a tree in my front yard wreaking havoc on my main sewage line. Earlier this year I had a coupon for Thomas and Galbraith that was good to clear any line for 93 dollars and they'd keep it clear for a year. So I call schedule someone to come out, they come, clear the drain all was well. Fast forward 11 months and the drain is clogged again so I call and they try to charge me the 93 again. I tell them about the coupon I had and they said it doesn't matter because you were supposed to call and schedule someone to come out to run a camera down the line. No one had mentioned that at the first appointment and I tell them this and they say it was on the invoice I signed but guess what I found my invoice and no where on the copy I have says anything about me calling for a camera. Nothing on the coupon about a camera inspection being part of the agreement and if you listen to their radio commercials they don't mention it either. So we go back and forth and eventually I cave and just say fine have someone come out and clear the drain. So when the tech calls to say hes on his way, I tell him what had been going on and he looked at my account and said dont worry I wont charge you since its not been a year and well set the appointment for the camera inspection when I'm finished. Awesome he comes, clears it and helps me schedule the appointment. We scheduled two weeks out because that was their schedule. Two days before the camera inspection appointment and the drain is clogged again so I call just to save time and headache in the event the camera guy coming out would be a waste of his time. When I call they told me that it would not be covered because their, well keep it clear for a year, only gives you one additional visit in the same year. Which is misleading. It's not stated that way on the radio commercial but is in the fine print on the coupon. So buyer beware there. I tell them its poor customer service on there part not to be a little more helpful in my circumstance, two weeks I shouldn't have had the back up I had and that the guy who came out at the beginning of the year had spent an hour of time working on the line and made all sorts of noise and that when he was done I had felt that he had done the job correctly. The guy who came out two weeks ago didn't make nearly the noise the first guy did and was in and out under 20 minutes. So I didnt feel that he had done it correctly. They pretty much told me tough luck you got your free visit. So I canceled the appointment for the camera inspection and because I was at work I had to get off the phone. When I called back later I got a very nice lady who I believed tried her hardest to help me out but her manager wouldn't allow another free visit. I would understand why the visit wouldn't have been free if it had been a month or two or longer and the problem had come back but two weeks I think they could've helped out more than they did. Heck even if they said unfortunately it can't be free this time but well give you a discounted price I would've taken it. I won't be using this company again and I'll warn others not to use them either.

Technician (Charlie Sauer) was more eager to find ways to generate more fees than to genuinely help fix my AC pb. He wouldn't touch my unit until i commit to $94 diagnosis fee instead of the $53 discounted rate he was there for. After i accepted, he run a superficial quick test of the pressure and concluded immediately without checking for any other potential issues. He immediately concluded based on his outdated measuring gage that i may have excess refrigerant in the system. He proposed to clear it off for an additional $650 fee, then if that doesn't work, he would try something else for additional fees. I quickly showed him the door, and called another company to get a second opinion. The second technician was leap and bound more qualified and more importantly more HONEST than my Thomas and Galbraith technician. He uncovered that the problem was simply an improper wiring at the breaker box and it took him 10 mins to fix for a total of $100 fee. Thomas and Galbraith is a ripoff. They also sent me a sales person within the same hour I kicked out their technician to try and sell me a brand new AC unit when my current one is perfectly fine. The balls these guys have!

Can I give a zero star review?  Bought a new Carrier furnace and AC unit in February 2014 from T&G.  I have had to have it repaired/serviced at least twice every season since.  It has had more problems than the 28 year old system I had them replace.  Everything is covered under warranty except my pain and suffering and the $94 service call which they say I can buy their maintenance agreement and not have to worry about the service call anymore either. Why does this thing require so many repairs??? During my 4th or 5th service call, the guy said the thing was installed and set up incorrectly to begin with and we did see a huge change in effeciency, however it is now perpetually low on referigerant requiring at least 2 service calls every warm weather to correct this issue.  The last time I called to schedule a repair, the lady on the phone was rude to me about why haven't you scheduled regular maintenance on your furnace since you bought it?  Well, let's see, How about because it's always broke down?  I will say that the service techs are very nice and friendly.  Do they know what they are doing?  That's debatable.  Oh, and don't try to pay with cash.  They can't make change.

Did main sewer line repair.
Sent subcontractor and never told me until they showed up. Main line backs up again 1.5 years later. 3 guys from company show up and tell me that the subcontractor that was sent was fired and they have been doing repairs on their work ever since and that mine was done wrong as well and would be fixed at no charge and someone will get back with me. Tell me another collapse in an area that was supposed to have been replaced during the original repair but wasn't. . No one called. So I called. Then they come and now suddenly want me to pay for more work due to bad job that they had told me would be fixed with no charge before. No one has called me back again about this, and I'm completely disgusted with all of this. My clean out sits at an angle so it can never be cut off and my yard looks ridiculous.  This was a reputable company when I hired them.  Trying to find name of president of the company so I can try to get him to address this problem and not ignore me.

I purchased their maintenance program and I am regretting it.

My very first experience with the company wasn't too terrible. A guy came out to do an AC tune up and he did a good job, so I know they're capable of doing a good job.

The second guy that came out was less than good. He argued with me and basically called me a liar because I tried to tell him that my AC unit had a quirk (something the first guy pointed out-nothing major but still a quirk) and he didn't believe it until he spoke to his colleague about it, who told him the same story I told him. I understand sometimes customers can be idiots but if they're telling you something specific, you should at least attempt to listen and this guy did not.

The last guy they sent was out for a furnace tune up and he was just as much of a jerk. He told me to my face he would get a furnace filter and bring it back because I requested it. I don't like changing the filter because it's a little complicated on my older furnace. When the rest of the day passed and then the next day, I called him. He told me on the phone he never said that and told me to do it myself.

Basically, if you like being called a liar or you don't mind mediocre service, go ahead and pick these guys. They basically have a bunch of knuckleheads working for them, with the exception of maybe one guy. Since he's competent, I doubt he still works there. But if you appreciate good service, I'd try someone else.

My AC wasn't working so I called for a service and the technician they sent acted as if he knew what he was doing and told me I needed a new system. I had the salesman out who gave me a quote and I than got a second opinion. This second opinion technician told me the AC worked and all I needed was a new thermostat because it was wired wrong. $50 vs $5000. The AC was never turned on! The technician and the salesman never even noticed!!! I will never trust them again!!!!

We had a badly clogged shower, and I was able to get an appointment quickly. This visit required multiple plumbers, all of which were fantastic. They let me know their ETA, and were very professional in every way. The cost was extremely reasonable, and came with a one year warranty. Very pleased and will use again! Great job!!!!

This letter is an email my father sent to the president of Thomas & Galbraith.  I hope whoever thinks about using this company's service will choose a different company.  It's been a nightmare for my dad.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't tell you how much I regret choosing Thomas & Galbraith to do my plumbing.

We just wanted a new water heater installed, and while we were at it, replace the mix of materials making up our water pipes in the basement.

After choosing Thomas & Galbraith to do this - what we thought was a - simple job, we've had to:

call in Duke Energy because of the gas leak we had after your workers had left for the day;

replace our gas lines;

have an electrician come in to fix our electrical panel after your plumber shorted out the panel (twice!) trying to ground the gas lines they had to install;

have Duke Energy come in - again -- to make the electrical box safe to work on;

have a chimney guy come in to fix the chimney because the hot water heater is not properly vented , which should have been determined before work began.

A $3985 job is now going to cost us about $10,000 due to your company's ineptitude.

But that's just the big stuff. Also:

When your guys installed the hot water heater, they installed the hot and cold water lines backwards. We had hot water coming out of our cold faucets, cold water coming out of our hot faucets, and hot water in our toilet tanks.

When they fixed the reversal of the hot and cold water lines after we pointed out their foul-up, instead of going back to a line where the lines would come straight out, they put in four 90° angles, in the most conspicuous spot possible. A Rube Goldberg job.

Without asking us first, they cut holes in the new sink we had bought for this project, and fastened our washing machine drain hose with solder through these holes.

They weren't able to do, and so didn't do, a simple job of replacing the wood that was behind the old pipes when they replaced them.

We've had to clean everything they touched. They threw their tools on our appliances without putting a towel or rag or something down first. We found pieces of solder and flux everywhere - including in towels that were nearby, and tape and other trash just tossed on our floors.

And here's the best: We still don't have hot water. Because your technicians never checked to see if the hot water heater would vent properly before they installed it, we - that's right, WE - have had to check into reconstructing our chimney, or installing another water heater with a power vent, which would have to run across our entire basement, about the level of my head, or find another way. So we have to run the water heater for an hour while we open all the basement doors and windows, and run fans down there, and make sure our carbon monoxide monitor is working properly, and then turn the water heater off and use the warm water left in the tank conservatively for a day or so. Then we do it again.

If I were President of this company, I would be embarrassed to provide this kind of service we got.
