The experience started off good, I was offered same day service within a few hours.  Was given a 2 hour window, between 4 and 6. Received my first call at 5 letting me know they were running late. Received another call at 6 letting me know they were still running late but didn't forget about me. Called again at 720 saying the same thing, I asked how lated they worked and he stated 9. Called back less than 10 minutes later and said someone was on there way and would be there in 30 minutes. 80 minutes later at 850pm someone arrived. He seemed annoyed to be there, which I don't blame him, I don't as annoyed he was there that late. They should have done everyone a favor and offered to reschedule first thing in the morning.

Just before Christmas last year, our electrical supplier, AEP, had another electrical company contracted to put in new telephone/power poles in our neighborhood.
What they didn't do is check to find out where our sewer pipe was located underground. The pole was put in right on top of our line and it collapsed.
The next day after Christmas, I went down to the basement to do some laundry and the floor drain backed up, leaving a small lake in the basement.
Called around for a plumber but none could come out any day soon -

Except for Mr. Rooter. They came out the next day, cleared the drain, had more technicians come out and used wet/dry shop-vacs to get the water out,
ran a camera through our drain-out plug and found the broken pipe, checked outside with sensors to pinpoint exactly where the break was at and sure enough - it was right where the new pole was installed.
They talked me through the whole process - they called AEP and reported the problem, Mr. Rooter called the City of North Canton to get the permits for the work, met up with the contracted electrical company to get the pole moved, scheduled a day to excavate and replace the old sewer line, came back with a full crew, laid down groundcover protection on the yard before bringing in a backhoe, and then scheduled a water/mold cleanup company to clean and sanitize the basement afterward.

All very professional, took all the stress away.
Hope I don't need a plumber again any time soon but if I do, better believe I'm calling Mr. Rooter.

Steve handled several projects for me including replacing multiple split pipes and installing a new water heater. Came back out multiple times to work with the home inspector (I was selling) to get everything perfect. Stayed late, worked weekends, and I knew pricing up front. Yeah, I could have done it cheaper myself, but with 10x the headache and 5x longer. Piece of mind was worth the little extra I paid.

Mr. Rooter did some work for my elderly parents, including a new sink install. When I saw the bill, I was shocked to see they charged them over $900 to install a basic Home Depot sink. I called the company, and was told a manager would call me the next morning to discuss. Nobody called me, so a few days later I tried again. I had to wait another couple days after that before a manager called. I explained the situation and he claimed the price for the sink was accurate. I asked if he could provide an approximate breakdown of cost for the sink versus labor, and he refused. I asked for the make/model of the sink installed and he said he didn't have that info in front of him. I asked if he could get it and email it to me the next day, and he said yes.

He never emailed me, so the next week I had to call yet again. When I finally got the manager back on the phone, he still refused to provide a price breakdown and claimed he had no way to know what sink they installed, but that they reviewed it and determined they 'accidentally' overcharged my parents $300. No apology, no explanation - like it was no big deal to wildly overcharge an elderly couple who didn't know any better. I would NEVER use them again, and strongly suggest nobody else does either.

We had several small repair jobs we needed done in our new-to-us home (shower head and faucet replacement, gas line cap off, toilet innards replaced).  Aris showed up from Mr. Rooter and did all the items we requested quickly and perfectly.  He left no mess behind and was very polite and courteous.  We were a bit taken aback at how expensive the total visit was, but we'll likely call Mr. Rooter again if we have plumbing issues.  Thanks for the great service, Aris!

Such a terrible experience with this company. I totally get plumbing problem and jobs can take a while but I wait 3 and half hours TWICE. This was in the evening and my time frame for someone to come was 6 to 8, this was already rescheduled from morning because they were running late then. Some one had called me at 7:30 to tell me someone was coming and they didn't forget about me. At 9:30 at night I called and they said oh no one called you to tell you we aren't coming tonight. Today my time from was 9 to 11am. It's noon and no one has even called to tell me they are coming. I called and they said someone would be here within the house. I asked to speak to a manager, which is the second time I've asked to talk to a manager and still no one has called me. This is the worst customer service. Terrible time management. I've never been so annoyed with a company.

We had a 10:00 am - 12:00 pm appointment with a plumber on 7/11/19.  We received a call from the office that the plumber was behind but will still come later.  Several hrs later the office called again to say plumber will not be able to make it and asked if we could reschedule tomorrow 1:00.  We said yes.  So the next day since we had time in the morning, we went grocery shopping.  Came home at 12:00 pm, there was a phone message from the office that plumber was at the house about 10:30 am and no one was there.  We called office back explaining the appointment was at 1:00.  Rep said since we missed the plumber, we would have to reschedule again next week.  It was not 1:00 yet and that was our scheduled appointment.  Rep said we had to reschedule.  We asked to speak to mgr & he said same thing.  So we waited most of the 1st day with no plumber and the 2nd day the plumber came at an earlier time than the scheduled appointment. Even though there was still time,  they would not send him back at the scheduled appointment.  We cancelled Mr Plumber and will find someone else.

I wish there were negative stars available.  I almost never write reviews but the public needs to be aware.

Wow! talk about taking advantage of someone. They write a contract for a job and then when it comes time to do the job they revise the contract and take off half of what they were going to do and then never reduce the price. They were nice a pie when they wanted the job and made me feel as though I was getting a great deal and great service. What I received was a job half done and left with a mess to clean up. They didn't even have the decency to clean up the tools of mine that they used. Over promised, under delivered and they did not fulfill the contract. When the owner Steve was contacted he was of no help and could have cared less because he got his money. He claimed they completed the job. The job and contract don't show this. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to do the work for you.

They came out to fix my ceiling and they put MY hand towel in MY trash can. Now not only do I have a leak in my ceiling, I also have to wash my hand towel. This throws an unnecessary inconvenience in my day because they are taking so long to fix the leak I don't even have water to wash my hand towel.

Was scheduled for service on Sunday from 4-6.  Never showed, was made a priority for Monday 6-8, left work early.  Called at 7:15 when I was not notified of them arriving ,  only getting They are not finished with other jobs.  This continued until 9:30.  Finally gave up!  So much for priority'.  Should not schedule and reschedule customers when they do not have the man power to accommodate.  Would not recommend!  Unacceptable customer service.

We bought a home March 2022. Toilet and shower in basement backed up w sewage within 2 weeks.  Mr Rooter was very responsive, came by right away.  I think they smelled a fool they wanted to part with her money.  Charged us $1000 to diagnose, said the entire sewer line needed replacement. Did the work. $15,000 later they said we would have no more problems.  Next time it rained the laundry room flooded.  After futzing around for 2 months, and for a total of $40,000 they hadn't fixed it and we gave up.  One toilet still backs up occasionally and now the gutters overflow (tldr, the gutters were part of the original problem but Mr Rooter failed to diagnose this at the outset). We tried negotiating down the cost, Mr Rooter wouldn't budge.  Now we are $40000 poorer and the problem is still there.  Am afraid to call again and complain bc I have completely stopped trusting them to fix the issues and to be reasonable about price.  Buyer beware of Mr Rooter!  I can post photos of the invoices and the backups if anyone asks.

Actually I was a little disappointed....But first I will start with what I thought was good!
I called as most people do because I had a blocked sewer, and water was backing up into my bathroom and going down my basement stairs. I needed someone right away. When I called they gave me a time of about 2-3 hrs I said okay, what could I do? they actually called back and said someone would be there with in the hour...okay better! That's the good part....when the first person got there he assessed the problem, and then gave me a price of $850.00 to snake the drain...needless to to say I was appalled, I said that's ridiculous, I can't afford that, you advertising says that a sewer cleaning is $189.00, He tells me its because they can not find my clean-out from out side the house, and the clean-out inside the house was very high and it will be harder to do. So I say when I had this problems a few years ago it was about $400.00 the and I though that was high, I guess I was going to have to try and find someone else. He then said well with coupons and such I can probably get it down to $600.00, I still though it was to high and even though I felt as though I was being taken advantage of,  cause I was at their mercy...I had no choice but to say go ahead. So they did what needed to do to fix it at that point. Then after a while they asked me to come down to the basement, to show me what the camera that they do ( at no extra cost, LOL yea right! ) was showing.
That I had a broken pipe and it needed to be repaired...So with that said, I asked how much will that cost? the guy tells me what they will do and it will cost $5000.00 plus they will have to dig up part of my driveway to fix it and everything will be put back, but they are not responsible for fixing the driveway...so I would have to call a Driveway person to do that... probably at minimum of another couple of thousand dollars ( not their words mine)
So long story short...I feel like i was taken advantage of, A.) because I was tat their mercy, and B.) because I am a Senior, which we all know the number one person that gets taken advantage of. Well they did fix the problem temporarily, with out any grantee of course, because I still need to get the real problem fixed... So it cost me $600.00 to tell me that I will have to spend $5000.00 or more.... I'm not sure if I'll use them or someone else... I just DON'T trust anyone anymore!

If I could give this company ZERO stars I would in a heartbeat!! You are out of your damn mind if you call these people for any plumbing you need in your house. If you deny services with them.. (we denied cause we could not afford the amount they wanted to charge) they will apparently call the cops on you making up LIES claiming you have drugs in your house...  WTF!! You have to be kidding me... I'm seriously cracking up at this. Well nice try Mr. Rooter  I wish you the best in your desperation of services we will NEVER be calling again.

We called them to look at our hot water tank that had possible damage due to a sewage backup that happened in our basement. Within minutes of looking at it, the plumber said it wasn't fixable. He didn't even try to assess if there was any water damage. Then, to make it even worse, quoted us $1900 to replace it and said our current setup wasn't up to code (which is a lie).

Back injury forces me to not do everything I want to do. I had 2 shut off valves that started to seep and wanted them replaced.  I also had a 90 degree fitting from 3/4 - 1/2 needing replaced. All items visible and nothing in the way.  I had the 2 valves and 6 unions and 6' of 1/2 copper, torch, solder and flux. They quoted me over $400 and that was a discounted price.  I purchased all the items a month ago right before my injury. The tech was a nice guy and I could tell he was interested in job, but looked discouraged prior to giving me price. I spent $37 on material and this took me about an hour to complete with my messed up back.  Be careful who you choose, I told the tech that I called them because I met one of the employees and he seemed genuine, I also told him I never hire anyone bcuz most are way overpriced, overrated and very shady..  I muddled through the pain and saved $374.  No Cool and not good business.   Even the tech said that he understood and hears a lot that they are a lot higher priced than others.

Paid them $900 a week ago to come out and install a garbage disposal.  Within a couple of days, water in the drain started backing up; if I turned on the disposal, it would spit up water.  (The only thing I put down it was strawberry tops.)  Within a week I had four inches of standing water in my sink.  Same guy came out, insisted it was a problem with my pipes, wanted to charge me for snaking them out.  I've lived here 22 years, never had a problem with the kitchen sink.  I told him I wasn't a big believer in coincidences, and I wasn't going to pay him to fix a problem he'd created.  He said, Talk to my manager, and walked out.   Left four messages for the manager, never heard back from him.  Terrible people to do business with.  Wish I'd seen the other 1-star ratings here before I hired them.

Dave was awesome. Early, efficient, and knowledgeable! Mr. Rooter even has a policy of installing customer bought Fossetts and handles. The competition, Sal's, would not. He changed out a three handle system and showerhead in the shower and change the shut off valves to the shower to ball valve shut offs in less than two hours. Dave also explained a lot of other things that I did not know and gave me estimate on some other work I need. I will definitely be using Mr. Rooter again as well as recommending Dave

Also, the problem was remedied when my bf and I rented a drain snake from Home Depot and snaked out the clog. Exactly what I thought the problem was. It cost less than $50 to snake my own drain, and $10 for a new wax ring (which got wrecked from these Mr. Rooter idiots snaking the toilet itself with the hand crank auger and charging me $150 for it.
The guy they sent that tried to persuade me to file an insurance claim and insisted my bathroom wall and ceiling needed opening up and replacing all the plumbing quoted me several thousand dollars!
This company is SCAMMING and predatory. Do not trust them with anything in your home!

They were very nice - waited several hours for them to arrive - but was told they were too busy and would have to wait until the next day even though I had sewage backed up all over my basement floor. They were very friendly and nice - but the price kept rising  - $500 - to $900 - to close to $1000 when they finished their 2 hours of work!  I spent $1,000 to clear the drain and have them run their camera down the line that day, and then they told me the pipe had collapsed and would cost $5,000 to fix and another $1,500 to repair the landscaping damage. Seriously - $7,500! I've gotten other bids for this work and have contracted with another local company at a total cost of $1,650 to fix. All of the other bids I got were way below Mr. Rooter's quote.  I will NEVER use Mr. Rooter again and was very disappointed with their prices. They are WAY too expensive - Please shop around!!!

I've seen them on tv and needed a Plummer over the weekend and they were available. The service was great, the work was done well by the person that came but, I felt like I was reamed out myself! They are way over priced and way over inflated prices for parts you can buy yourself at Home Depot.  I could understand labor cost but the part they must've marked up 10x the original price. I will DEFINITELY NOT use them again! This was a need to be done now thing so you have to do what you have to do.... Unless you want a reaming out yourself, go with someone else!!! Some of the operators that answer are really rude!!!

I paid him, he left.  No mess, no fuss.  Very easy to deal with.

We have a clogged sink and called Mr. Rooter at 9:30am to have it repaired. We were told a plumber would come between 3-5pm, and received a call at 4 saying we weren't forgotten, they were just wrapping up at another house before coming to ours. At 5:45 and no plumber, we got a call stating that they couldn't come out today...their website states 24/7 guaranteed service yet they did not deliver. Had we known before, we could have booked another plumber but we were left high and dry by Mr. Rooter and their false guarantee. If you are in a pinch and need plumber, you're better off with another company.

Mr rooter wanted to charge 700 to put the camera down the drain to see what the issue was. Keep in mind if the pipe needed snaked that is not included. My quote for camera and possible snake was 1,000!!! I called another company that came out the next day with the camera, they found roots snaked the line and we paid 350 total. Mr rooter is so unbelievably over priced, wouldn't recommend.

I was given an estimate to fix 5 feet of pipe, and  hydrojet pipe for $6500 and I paid a $3500 down payment.  They opened up the floor, said it would be 20 feet for $25,000.  I said no, I can't afford that.  They fixed 1 foot of pipe, poured concrete in the hole, never hydro jetted, and left, keeping all $3,500.  I requested $1,000 back and I was attacked verbally for even suggesting it. One foot of pipe does not equal $3,500 by their own standards in contract.

MR ROOTER TRIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUNG FAMILIES IN WILLOWICK.

My husband and I had food and water backing up in our basement when running the dish washer and using our kitchen sink. We called Mr. Rooter last Sunday for a free estimate and were told we needed a new sewer line replacement. After being convinced that they needed to snake and jet our main line that day we were told if it happens again we need to immediately have our main line replaced or it could end up collapsing. Last night we figured out ourselves that it was not the main sewer line that was backing up like Mr. Rooter tried to convince us but the piping in our kitchen that had a clog. After dinner I ran our dish washer and noticed water again coming up in our basement, my husband and I agreed that this did not make sense, since Mr. Rooter had just snaked and jetted where they said the issue was coming from 4 days prior. We tested our toilets, shower and bathroom sinks and were not experiencing this issue. I called Mr. Rooter again last night and said I felt we were being taken advantage of and they were not being honest. A different supervisor was sent out to our house and agreed it was not the main line that was causing our problem but grease in our kitchen pipe. If we were given accurate information and not scared into having our main line jetted this is something we could have handled ourselves. Instead were robbed by Mr. Rooter and paid just under $1000 to fix what we were convinced was a much bigger issue.

Bill Spreitzer was sent to our house before anything was looked at. I later found out that Bill reports directly to Steve Kelly who is the Excavation Specialist for Mr. Rooter. Before anything was looked at Mr. Rooter decided they wanted to sell my family a $7,000 new main sewer line and dig out our front yard instead of being an honest company and finding the real issue we were experiencing. When we expressed concern about affording such a big unexpected expensive Bill gave us his spiel on their financing program. Bill and a technician were at our home for hours pushing and convincing us we had this huge expense coming up. Instead of testing the pipes and checking our kitchen like professionals should, Bill wrote in our notes that we were having a problem when running our clothes washer, which is not true. We even laughed about our dog trying to snack on the food coming up in the basement. I'm not sure about anyone else but I do not  keep food in our washer and dryer.

It is well known that houses in the Willowick area have clay pipes and were built in the 50's. Of course there will be some cracking, this does not mean they need replaced immediately or that it is causing a problem in your home. Mr. Rooter targets young families who they think do not know better and uses this as a business strategy to get as much money out of you as they can. They try to take advantage of our community by scaring their customer into thinking they need a new sewer line. Bill told us after we were convinced that we needed to have our main line snaked and jetted that if it backed up again we needed to have it replaced quickly because it could collapse. Of course Mr. Rooter knew it would back up again because they did not fix the real problem in the first place. Do not let this company lie and take advantage of your family like that did ours.

I have used Mr. Rooter to service my clogged drains a couple times and they did a great job in a timely fashion, so when my kitchen/laundry room drain clogged again, I called to schedule service and they gave me an appointment for 6-8 pm the next day. They called twice during the appointment window to assure me that someone would be coming as soon as they finished their current job. Once 9 pm rolled around, they called and said they would need to reschedule for the next day without even an apology. This happened two days in a row, except the second day, they didn't even bother to call at 9 to say no one was coming. When I called to complain, they offered $50 off the service. Well, I already had a coupon for $58 off that couldn't be combined with other offers, so that was no discount. This poor customer service lost my business.

Had them in to replace a valve on my water heater due to a slow leak.  Found out it could not be fixed.  The guy who came was very nice and helpful but when he quoted me on replacing the water heater it was outrageous.  Called another provider and I am getting a new one installed for almost half the price.  Sounds like gouging to me.  Guess I should have listened to the reviews here on Yelp.

Called on a Saturday to set up and appointment to have my garbage disposal services as it stopped working. I was shocked when they said they had an appointment later that morning. I loved that they sent me an email with a picture of the plumber before he came and called to let me know when he was on his way.  Mike was fantastic and tried to fix it but In the end, we had to replace it. It was done in no time and was happy about the price.  Next time I need a plumber I'll call Mr Rooter!

Called them in for a cleaning and root removal. One guy sat in the street for 2 hours and played on his phone. The guy feeding the hose from the outside is knocking the potted plants over. They tell me I need the whole line replaced then he wants $500 to mark the line in the yard to do the estimate. He ends up doing an estimate anyway when I tell him I'm not paying for an estimate. Then he says I need to replace the water line also.
I told him I need 1. Scope of work with exact locations of pipe that is non- reparable and he needs to call the city for permits and if they will do a new tie in.
Spoiler alert: I know more about excavations than he does. He never got back to me with an estimate because he knows the pipe is not in need of replacement.

If I could give them less then 1 star I would. I hired them on 10/22 to install a bathroom fan roof vent. On 10/24 I was able to get on the roof and see the work. IT WAS TERRIBLE! They installed vent wrong (see picture) the vent flashing was installed over the shingles and covered in tar. 10/25 I called them and they scheduled the same technician to come back out that same day. I left work early and arrived home. Soon after I got a call from the technician that he would not be able to come and the vent was not installed wrong. I told him I needed someone to come out. He said he would call me back. He never did, I called the office later that day. They said they would figure it out and call back. Over an hour later they called and scheduled a technician to come out on 10/26. I then had to leave work early on the 26th. The technician arrived but then had to leave to get his tools and showed back up an hour later. He finished installing the vent the correct way but when I looked at it the vent was the wrong type of vent. The vent did not have a damper or a place to connect the duct work too. They then scheduled the technician to come back out on 10/27. They called that morning and said he was a half hour away. He didn't show up for another hour after that. They left the wrong vent on the roof and screwed the duct work into the underside of my roof. I called the office several times after that and finally spoke with a supervisor on 11/6. He said the office would call and get the details to refund my money. They never called. I called them back on 11/8 and they said someone would call me on 11/14. On 11/15 I called them because no one called me. I left a message with someone I was supposed to talk to. They never called back. I call again on 11/19 and they said they would have them call me the next day. They finally called two days later to figure out the refund.

had an appt between 12 and 2 on sept 25. Advised by phone they were running late. No further contact. Called at 5p and stated i had been waiting for 5 hours, and was advised a manager would call me back. Still waiting for that call three days later.

Tried twice to have Mr Rooter come to fix our problem. Both times waited the two hour window for them to come. Both times never received a call letting me know that they were Running behind  Had to call the office to hear sorry, they are running behind do you want to reschedule?  No thanks.  I will try to find a company that will actually show up

Excellent customer service.  They showed up on time, assessed the problems, quoted me a price that I thought was fair and then did everything they promised and more.  They answered all my questions along the way and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left.  I would highly recommend them.

I had 2 appointments in one week for a simple hot water heater estimate. Both days was given a 2 hour appointment window and no one showed up. I called them both days and they apologize and said someone was going to come sometime. I cancelled appointment the 2nd time this happen.
This company should give the customer a courtesy call by letting them know if they are running late

We had a ten inch pipe draining water from our backyard collapse. It was not an easy job for the guys with Mer Rooter. The guys were very professional. Two actually came up from Columbus, Ohio to help get the job done. They were very careful not to damage a tree that was very close to where they were digging. They showed us video of the damaged pipe. There was a hill that was steep and challenging...no problem to this crew. Very pleased with them! Highly recommend!

What a bunch of thieves!  They charged me $400 to remove my toilet and snake the drain, They said I might need a new toilet for $510 ( could be more depending on the toilet ) I called Duke plumbing and they snaked the drain and installed a new toilet for $175

I had a garbage disposal that would not work.  Mr. Rooter was the first to respond, so I scheduled an appointment and the plumber came out in a timely fashion.
The replacement of the garbage disposal was done quickly and professionally done.  The price was fair, and the work was done expertly.
I have used Mr Rooter in the past, and I was not disappointed this time as well.
I would highly recommend them to anyone.
