HISTORY

Established in 1968.
Herrmann Services is a family owned and operated company serving all Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities. In 1968, Richard J. Herrmann began to build a legacy for his family by opening the doors to Herrmann Plumbing. In the beginning, the company was a small, one-man plumbing shop. Richard soon found out that remarkable service and craftsmanship are impossible to keep secret. Richard's inner circle started telling their friends and families about the care and skill he delivered. He was delighted to bring on other craftsmen to meet the demand of a growing business. He chose his employees very carefully, making sure they genuinely cared about helping people and knew their craft inside and out.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

A few third generation Herrmann's are also involved in the business. Jason, Kim's son,
joined the ranks of the plumbers in the early 90′s and has since earned his Plumbing License, Backflow License, and State HVAC Licenses for Ohio and Kentucky. He currently holds the title of Service Manager.

Agree with others pricing too high.   Lost any trust when they wanted to charge over $500 for a leak that another company took care of without any parts for a little over $100.

AVOID... MAJOR RIP-OFF!!!

Our water heater quit working.  I called the manufacturer and went through some troubleshooting and they said the water heater had an error code on that meant the flamable vapor sensor was bad. I then called Hermann Services to come out and replace the sensor. They installed a defective sensor then called the manufacturer to obtain new part. Hermann Services did NOT get the part and install it... Instead we paid to have part shipped from manufacturer and we installed it ourselves.

We knew what was wrong when we called them but
they charged $186 for diagnostic fee plus a $59 service charge and we ended up fixing the sensor ourselves.

Here are the service notes from the tech:
AO Smith water heater has a code stating flamable vapor sensor is bad, replaced sensor and it still didn't work,  took ohms test on both sensors and got nothing. Called AO Smith and finally got them to ship a new part to the customers house. Called around and could not find part locally. Task Misc 0031 $186 Diagnostic Fee and $59 service charge.

Take some time to review the negative posts others have made. Based on my own experience this is what you should expect from this company. I attempted to contact the company to resolve the issue but was unsuccesful. I was told the same things other were told... we have to pay for stocked trucks insurance, etc. Also, I was told they don't charge by hour but you if they did it would be close to $150 per hour.

We received several quotes for installing a new tankless water heater. I approached Herrmann Services by email and Sarah was very responsive and provided a lot of helpful information by email. They came promptly to provide a free quote and reviewed all the options with me. Kevin seemed very knowledgeable and experienced with tankless installations. Sarah was very patient with additional questions of mine over email. Hermann not only provided the most competitive quote, but I felt most confident in their knowledge and installation plan. We were able to schedule the installation promptly.  A crew of three people arrived promptly. Kevin again answered all my questions and Chuck took incredible care to make sure the venting run he installed was as unobtrusive within our storage area space as possible. They cleaned up and made sure we were satisfied with everything before leaving. We know have unlimited hot water!  I'm very pleased I decided to go with Hermann Services and recommend them highly.

...We've got a whole 'lot of history... (cue One Direction's song)...

They have been servicing our heater & AC for over 16 years.  While we may have our ups and downs due to equipment error, they have always taken care of us.  If something fails that they've installed - they don't abandon us, they take care of us until the problem is fixed.  We are preferred customers - which means we pay monthly - but we always make up those fees with their good maintenance and discounted fees for the future costs of service.  Recently, our heater malfunctioned, but they came out and fixed the problem - even on the weekend.  (I considered doing a service program with a different provider - one that's considered more posh - but they were so backed up with appointments that they couldn't have even come to do the servicing during normally expected windows of time - like months out.  Winter would have been half over).  Bottom line, Herrmann may not have the Posh name but they consistently serve us well despite the usual challenges of providing for heating and cooling services/maintenance/repairs.    D.J. came and fixed our heater these past few days.  He identified the problem, told us what to expect and and had excellent communication skills with regard to the whole process.  The office called to tell us that the part we were waiting for was delayed from the provider - so they were proactive despite having to tell us semi-bad news.  I feel like communication is so important in managing expectations & they certainly communicated well as a team.  Overall - they've been good to us.

Great experience with booking service call over the phone. The technician that completed repairs was prompt, knowledgeable and sociable. We are a repeat customer for Herrmann Services for different projects/repairs and do recommend the company.  Oh, and the time from initial call to having a tech in home was super fast and convenient!

The work they do is great. I had a water softener put in last year and a hard start capacitor put in my septic pump. Both times the service was outstanding. I give them a poor score because the prices are incredibly high. I had them come out and give me an estimate on fixing or replacing a shower faucet. $1600 to replace. I got a different company to come out and they fixed it for $325 and their estimate to replace was $700. There is no reason to gouge on prices. I expect I was over-charged on the other work I had done. From now one I will be more careful on pricing.

**AVOID**

This company came out to give me a quote for a gas line to a stove. First flag, the technician stated I don't work on commission, so I won't sell you something you do not need. Second flag, I went to 4 years of Journey school with 20+ years experience. By the end of the hour and half long assessment, he concluded he will need to drill holes in the rafters for the gas line (basement drop ceiling) as well as tie into the electrical box to ground the pipe in the total cost of $3,957.00. He also wrote up 2 additional quote for unrelated items he came in for. His quote was 3x higher than the other two companies I had out.

Although in the beginning i thought the prices were a little high they worked diligently for 7 hours to diagnose and repair my plumbing issue. In the end because they charge by the job and not by the hour the cost turned out to be very reasonable.  Very knowledgeable and they cleaned up well.  Would highly recommend....

Great service.  Called at 10:30, the guy was done early at his morning job, their office called me at 11:45 and said he'd be here in 20-30 minutes.  Greg showed up at noon he was totally pro, he diagnosed the issue, made the repair and was gone by 12:35.  Definitely my go to HVAC company.

Canceled on me for the first appointment. Rescheduled for the next day. 2 plumbers showed up and were able to unclog the stoppage in my kitchen sink drain. The plumbers themselves were both very nice and professional. My only issue was the price. The $79 flat service fee was fine but the $800 total just seemed like it was way too much. I was fully expecting to pay $200-300, like I have with other companies for similar amounts of time and labor. I agreed to the price and service because I needed the job done ASAP and didn't have the luxury of scheduling with another provider. Will most likely never use them in the future simply because of cost.
