UPDATE 5/21/21 -Please see the attached images to view the completely inappropriate, immature, & unprofessional response I received from their customer relations manager after THEY asked ME to reach out...Complete garbage. On top of that our system has all of a sudden completely crashed and isn't maintaining the temperature in our home after their tech visit. Now I'm having to call other HVAC companies to figure out if my HVAC is salvageable or if I'm going to have to spend thousands replacing it. Do your research, they obviously have loaded their Google reviews, DO NOT USE THEM. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and the FTC.
_______
What a giant waste of money. DO NOT USE THEM. I wish I could summarize my experience in a short review so that people could get the gist of why they should be avoided at all costs, but so many aspects of the experience were so terrible that there's just no way to narrow down one part of it. There weren't even enough characters allowed on this review to let me tell the whole story. The tech didn't perform half of the services outlined in the tune up, spent more time in his truck than actually doing any work, used fear of loss/scare tactics to try to sell me on services that were, upon a Google search, HIGHLY overpriced (like, not even in the same ballpark), & then charged me TWICE the price I confirmed on the phone before ever scheduling the appointment. And now I'm stuck having paid twice what I was told & STILL having to service my own HVAC...unbelievable.
I called in to schedule my appointment for an HVAC tune up because I usually do the basic maintenance myself & had some questions about what would be involved in the tune up, as well as wanted to confirm the pricing, which was a special of $49. I thought it would be a good idea to have a professional do the services this year because our system is on older side so my main interest was in the inspection portion of the service & the maintenance portion would be an added bonus since I THOUGHT I wouldn't have to do it myself. The lady I spoke to on the phone confirmed that as part of the tune up the tech would inspect all of the lines, check the coolant level & top it off to a certain amount, clean the evaporator coils & fins, clean the handlers & outdoor units, check the thermostats, replace the air filters, etc. After confirming this, I scheduled my appointment.
The tech gives me a call ahead of time & comes on time around 2:30 PM. He looks extremely young, but of course I wasn't going to pass judgement on his experience & knowledge just because of that. I ask him if he could check the thermostats to make sure they're connected properly & to set the correct program based on the air handler we have. In a round about way, he essentially told me it is what it is, no way for him to figure out if they're wired correctly or if they're set properly...what? First red flag. Next, I ask him if there's anyway for him to avoid doing a coolant check & if he could check for leaks/perform other inspections to see if it would even be necessary to perform the coolant check. If you don't know, HVAC's have a closed system for the coolant & there shouldn't be any drop in the level of coolant unless there's a leak somewhere in the system. In other words, the whole myth around having your coolant regularly topped off to maintain your HVAC is just that, a myth. The reason I asked him to avoid doing the check is because there is some coolant lost when a check is performed, although it's a minor amount. Still, I didn't want to waste coolant if I could avoid it. Once again, I was told it's not possible, there's no way to tell without performing the check, & that he COULD perform a leak test BUT that it would cost hundreds of dollars...another red flag considering I was already being upsold. At this point, I'm thinking what have I gotten myself into?.
The tech left at 3:30 PM & spent no where near enough time to have actually performed all of the services outlined in the tune up. I even asked & he did NOT clean the coils/fins with a cleaner, didn't clean the drain lines, didn't replace the air filters, etc. What he did do was spend most of his time putting together quotes that ranged from $1,300+ for a coolant refill (WAY overpriced), to $2,700, to even more for a complete system replacement. At this point, I'd already heard so many inconsistencies & even had to correct him when he told me there were no water safeties on our handlers, which was INCORRECT, that I just wanted him out of my home. So he gives me the bill & it turns out I had to pay twice the amount because I have 2 units, which was NEVER communicated when I spoke to the lady on the phone & set my appointment. This company is complete trash, never again.
