Established in 1986.

Lane plumbing started by my father W.R. Lane (Bob). He was a civil Engineer from NC State. After working in construction before, during and after his call for duty in the Korean war. He had extensive knowledge in the construction industry and became a general contractor. Later he also became a plumbing contractor. In the 70s and early 80s he also ventured into residential remodeling and rentals, with great success I might add. He was building apartment buildings for HUD all over the state. During this time his sons were heavily involved working with their dad. Jim became interested in the management of construction sites and was involved in installing the utilities for the for the construction projects. which started Jims interest in plumbing. Over the next 10 years the Lanes had involvement in hundreds of projects from the new terminal C restaurants, to putting in gas lines for Hewlett Packards most advanced laboratory equipment for Hewlett Packard. Jim licensed in 1986.

It is very unfair We have a long list of repeat customers we are dedicated to. Call to speak to Mr. Lane and troubleshoot the problem on the phone with a real plumber. I would do zero stars if I could figure out how to do it. I tried to stop my check on these clowns but they beat me to the bank. I had a leak coming from under the toilet. After they came the leak wouldn't go away. The next day I am sustaining heavy water damage in the bathroom and the hallway. They come by again and can't find the leak. The under of my floor is flooding so I hire a service that specializes in leak detection. They find the leak in 5 minutes. IT'S THE WATER HEATER. WHAT KIND OF CLOWN PLUMBERS DON'T CHECK THE WATER HEATER WHEN THERE IS A LEAK?!

Bottom line is Lane Plumbing can come and replace my floor to avoid a lawsuit. If you value your house, stay away from this company - they're clowns.

They arrived in a timely fashion to replace the pump and the job was completed within the estimate given. Get at least 3 bids before using lane.

Thanks to Lane for the extensive explanation.
It is interesting that multiple trips are required to fix septic tank controls and pump.

We had a clogged kitchen drain that seemed to come out of no where. We hired a plumber on Thumbtack who wasn't able to fix it. Paid that guy $15 for his time, and then called Lane Plumbing. They sent someone over the next morning.

The day I called, the owner spoke to me on the phone for at least 15 minutes trying to diagnose our issue and then just talking to me about his experience. He was a super friendly guy. I felt comfortable going forward with Lane Plumbing based on that conversation.

The plumber who came by did a fantastic job. He was here for an hour, maybe more; this was an intense clogging situation apparently! He was sweating up a storm, but insisted through it all that he'd get it fixed. And he did!

I subtracted a star because when he removed the P trap, he didn't have a bucket underneath so we had a pretty good amount of water fall in the cabinets. He didn't seem to care to protect the cabinet, so needless to say it was a slight mess. We cleaned up after he left.

That said, we hired em for the job and they did it, so I'm satisfied!

The owner kept me on the phone for 50 minutes when I called to set up an appt for him to come give me an estimate. We set a date and time....no one showed up, no call, no text, no email. Wasted my time on a long phone call and wasted time that I'd taken off of work for the appt.

I was notified by the City of Raleigh that I had a sewer line backup on the edge of my property that I was responsible to have fixed. They gave me 48 hours before they would cut my water off. I called Lane plumbing and explained the situation. They gave me a rough estimate over the phone and I asked them to put me on standby until I could confirm some things with the City of Raleigh. The next morning I called back and said I needed them to come out. They were there in about an hour. They fixed the issue quickly and were very reasonable with the price.

Lane Plumbing came out to my home to fix a Pressure Reducing Valve. Daniel the technician was great from the start and noticed an additional problem that we had at our cut off. He pointed this out to me before doing any work, explained in clear detail and showed me the evidence to support his findings. They were competitively priced and efficient with their work. I definitely recommend that you call Lane Plumbing and if he's available request Daniel to be your tech. Great experience working with them.

OMG THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! From the second I called to the end of the job I could not be anymore impressed! Jim was just amazing when I called. I was frantic, our pipes under the house had burst. I just don't have money lying around to have such a large repair. But Jimmy put me at ease and helped me understand what to expect. When the guys came out it was wonderful! They were absolutely fabulous!

TOO GREEDY FOR MONEY!!! THEY WILL CHEAT YOU - just like they CHEATED ME!!! Lane Plumbing came to my home for 2 concerns: my bathroom sinks & a rusted pipe under my foundation. The first 2 men who came could NOT fix the rusted pipe; they had to call in a 3rd man. My bathroom sinks turned out to be fine - just a little black gunk - enough to dirty a half paper towel. Still, they charged me $268 for the 10 minutes it took them to tell me the stopper was dirty & clean it for me. Then, I was charged $375.00 for the rusted pipe. I do not mind the charge for the rusted pipe. But I know that it was totally UNFAIR, UNETHICAL & DOWNRIGHT MEAN of Lane Plumbing to charge me the separate, completely outrageous charge of $268 when they KNEW that they hadn't done ONE THING to earn it!!! Lane Plumbing is GREEDY! They will spout all kind of nonsense about costs rising since the pandemic. But those 2 men who came into my home KNOW that they CHEATED ME!!! It's better to go with a more reputable company which will stand by their work & be able to honestly validate WHY they're charging what they charge for the amount of time & expertise it took them to complete the job. YOU'LL BE SORRY if you go with Lane Plumbing! BELIEVE ME!!!

Half to say, I have used Lane Plumming twice now, ...the 1st time a year ago, to replace my hot water heater, I wasn't sure I could make the payment but they work with me and I truly appreciate that, and now this last time I obviously had a pressure release valve problem so I was getting no water pressure in the house I talked to mr. Lane we discuss what it could be and they set a date and they came out and they fixed it, I'm sure I will be using them again in the future, it's good to know that I founded great plumbing company

Fine service, bad price.

I had Lane perform very minor plumbing work recently (I could have done it myself if I had seen it done before, will do it myself next time). Pros: easy to contact and discuss the issue, scheduling was easy, plumber was very nice and courteous.

Con: Lane charged by the job instead of by the hour. The work took the plumber under an hour, yet the job charge resulted in a labor rate that was over 3x the normal plumbing labor rate I'm used to, and I have used plumbers several times in the last few years. The plumber did a fine job, but not at a faster rate or better technique than others would have on this type of work. I would not hire a plumber who charges by the job again.

Nobody wants to have to call some people. Plumbers are usually on that list. After finding a long standing leak around the bottom of my kitchen drain, I started looking at reviews and making phone calls. I left 2 messages with other plumbers before getting to Mr Lane who answered the phone live. After reading other reviews it's what I expected. And it's good for business. We talked about my problem, chit chatted about this and about that, he slipped me a ball park figure, told me his guys would come out the next day, not at a set time, but they'd call first. I got the call at 4:30. The lead plumber and his assistant whipped in, got to work and whipped out, check in hand, 30 minutes later. The younger plumber did wear a mask and was personable and clear when explaining the bill. The older plumber, all business, had his head under the sink almost the whole time. Problem solved. In this new world of remote working, not having a set time to show up wasn't a huge deal. But I work retail as well, and not having a set show up time could be a problem some days. Oh, and I'm still waiting for the other 2 plumbers to return my call.

Was having trouble with my toilet not flushing properly and called Lane Plumbing. Spoke with Jimmy on the phone and he immediately scheduled an appointment and gave a price quote based on me explaining that I have a leak and also the toilet continuously flushes. The price was at least $250. On the day of my appointment, the problem was fixed by Jerry (after having to leave my home twice to go and purchase different supplies). Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the price. My total was $300...$150 for labor, $125 for parts plus tax). It turns out, there was no leak and the only things that were changed was a fill valve, fill valve flapper and new handle. After research, I realized that I could have purchased those items from Walmart or Lowe's myself for much less than $40!!!!!! But I was charged $125!!!!! I understand that they can charge what they want but this is pretty ridiculous! We were hustled, plain and simple....fool me once shame you, fool me twice shame on me!! My advice to everyone would be to check around and get quotes or find a trusted local handyman.

My kitchen drain was clogged, and I tried but could not clear it myself. I called Lane and their techician Danial showed up later the same day. Daniel identified the problem and wrestled a powered snake from the kitchen drain all the way to the clean-out in front of the house to completely clear the blockage. He demonstrated the clear pipe by running water and we watched it flow through to the street. All this took less than an hour. He reassembled the drain pipes under the sink and checked for leaks. He also suggested some additional work to improve the water flow through the drain and gave me an estimate. All in all a very successful intervention!

Thank you to Lane plumbing, they came through after I bought a new house and found out the sewer line was no good. They replaced my entire sewer line and did an amazing job at a very fair price.

I called in the morning and spoke to Jim Lane. He was friendly and helpful. Nelson and Jerry came out that afternoon and took care of my issue within an hour! Very pleased with the service and the reasonable cost. Lane Plumbing will be my first call if I ever need any plumbing work done in the future!!

If the star ratings had zero stars, I'd choose that one. Lane doesn't deserve one star. We had a burst pipe in our crawl space late last night. Water was gushing everywhere. Called Lane who advertises emergency services. Left a message twice. Never a call back. So much for emergency service!

So, I don't normally give 5 stars, but Lane Plumbing proves exceptional again. This is my second time needing their services and as with the first time, they were available to send a crew out the same day, provide an estimate over the phone and complete the job in a timely manner. I love that Mr. Lane himself answers the phone when you call and can tell you exactly what is needed and provide an estimate in a friendly, neighborly way. The crew called you within 30 minutes of their arrival to let you know they're on the way. When Daniel H. and Isaiah showed up, they made sure I knew they were from Lane, they confirmed exactly what I was told over the phone, did a walkthrough to make sure they had all they needed for the job, and within an hour, they were finished. Upon completion, we completed another walk through to make sure the jobs were finished to satisfactory. Thanks again Mr. Lane!!

We called numerous plumbers and no one could come out today except Lane plumbing. His guys arrived within a couple hours and were able to replace the problem with the leak in our hot water tank overflow valve. I am very thankful. Jimmy was very pleasant as well as Robert and Jerry who came out and solved our problem - at a reasonable rate.
