HISTORY

Established in 1925.
W.E. Bolton Construction and Service, LLC owned by William E. Bolton III (Bill) and his son William E. Bolton IV (Will) acquired the assets of Bolton Service, LLC on June 11th, 2010. Woodfin Oil, the former owner approached the W.E. Bolton in January of that year with the opportunity. After months of negotiations the Bolton Service, LLC employees joined the Bolton Family once again. Bolton is one of the oldest family businesses in the Raleigh area. William E. Bolton Sr. left the Atlantic Coastline Railroad of Rock Mount in 1923 to oversee the construction of the Mechanical Systems for Raleigh's first high rise hotel, The Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel. In 1925, he established the W.E. Bolton Company for the purpose of installing and servicing coal fired heating and refrigeration systems for local dairies and meat packing plants. The company weathered the great depression and William E. Bolton Jr. joined his father in 1946 after serving 6 years aboard the USS Yorktown.See more at website.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

I was born at the Old Rex Hospital in Raleigh and Raised on a small farm just south of what is now the new 540 outer loop in North Raleigh. I Graduated Millbrook High School in 1989 and then attended Appalachian State University. I graduated ASU in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Minor in Technology. I Joined Bolton Corp. full time in January of 1994 and served as a Project Manager and Designer until December 2001. I was a founding member of W.E. Bolton Construction and Service, LLC with Bill Bolton (My Father) in January 2002. In 2010 W.E. Bolton acquired the assets of Bolton Service, LLC. I hold contractor licenses in HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler, Unlimited General Contracting, and Specialty Electrical. I am a member of the West Raleigh Rotary Club, SLR (Shop Local Raleigh), SFPE, and ASHRAE. I am currently Serving as Raleigh Operations Manager. Hobbies include surfing, SUP, wakeboarding, fishing, and snowboarding with my wife and boys.

When I changed 3 AA batteries in my CO2 detector, the alarm went off and wouldn't stop unless the batteries were removed. I decided to have a technician come and check it out. A Bolton technician arrived, opened the back of the alarm and immediately saw that one battery was inserted upside down. (I am 80 years old and don't have sharp vision.) He flipped it over and all was well. I rehung it on the wall and we were done. He said he would try for a reduced charge. But the bill arrived for $95,00. I called and requested a lower charge since no work was required or parts or anything, but the Manager insisted $95.00 was the basic charge. I certainly won't use this service again and think you could find a more reasonable firm to deal with.

No matter what I ask them to do, they tell me they can't help. They come out to the house, spend three minutes assessing the problem, and say - We can't help you with that.

A few weeks ago, I filled in their online form to ask to be contacted for a project or two at my home (washer dryer installation, evaluation and running of electrical / plumbing for 2nd kitchen installation, evaluation of current plumbing / electrical system on the house). When I didn't hear back, I then called to follow up, and I was told they saw my inquiry, but it somehow didn't make it over to the correct department. I was told they would put me in the queue for the plumbing department to call me back. I called a second time after not hearing back after this inquiry, and I still have not heard back. Disappointed that I can't even seem to get anyone to provide an estimate, therefore, I certainly can't recommend the work.

Bolton was very cost competitive and provided great customer service with my water heater replacement. They took the extra time to make sure I was happy with the install. I plan to use Bolton for future services and I would recommend Bolton to others.

Our sewer line backed up into the main toilet and tub and overflowed onto the floor. Dave and Frank came out right away and identified where the clog was and blew out the clog and reset the toilet etc. They were responsive and fixed the problem right away. I highly recommend them.

Bolton charged me over 400.00 to fix my ac. The fix lasted less than 24 hours. When I called to ask for someone to come back, I was told no one could come. They have lousy customer service. I asked to speak to a manager. He never called this happened on July 7. Today I received a letter that stated I was ignoring their calls as far as paying the bill. I told the person at Bolton back in July that I needed to talk to the manager before I paid the bill. I called today. There was no adjustment on the bill so basically I am out 400.00 for a fix that didn't work. I do not recommend them to anyone!
