I've used Belsito several times.  They are quick and efficient.  They got my water heater and furnace back up and running after hurricane Sandy.  They fixed a leaky faucet in my bathtub, replaced my kitchen sink faucet after a leak went unnoticed and damaged my downstairs neighbors apartment.  When my toilet was running they walked me through how I could fix it by simply replacing the Gorky flapper!  They always show up with a smile and a joke and leave the place cleaner than they found it.

I called first thing in the morning with a clogged toilet due to a mishap involving the spring loaded TP holder.  The dispatcher told me she would send someone within the half hour, and within 20 minutes they were here.  The plumbers were friendly, quick, and thorough.  Hopefully I won't need to, but I'd call them again for sure.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Belsito yesterday. The plumber they sent, Kevon, arrived ahead of schedule and took time to diagnose the problem. He maintained open communication and clearly explained the problem and outlined possible solutions. He was able to complete the necessary work for a reasonable price. Kevon was very personable and efficient in his duties. He and his assistant completed the job without incident and left our kitchen clean and in perfect working order. Don't hesitate to hire Belsito for your plumbing needs.

I have a lot of qualms with this company but they have been available on short notice where others have not been, so I would, in a pinch, consider using them again,  But I second what others have said: I do not trust them.  They quote no charge at the end of the job but bill you 3 weeks after the fact and each time for padded hours.  I suspect the 3-week delay is so you won't remember exactly how long they were there.    One time they explained an extra 45 min  as travel time to get to my house but knocked it off the bill when I pointed out they were 5 or 6 blocks away.  Another time I called to question the (unitemized)  bill regarding hours and as soon as they heard I wanted to question the charge the admin told me they were adjusting the cost for parts down without my even asking about it.  Though they refused to adjust the hours because the travel time was charged from Manhattan.

However, they have been pretty available, and so far their work has been fine as far as I can tell.  Hence 2 rather than 1 star despite my qualms.   if you are desperate for a quick response, call them, but look over the bill very carefully and also make sure you record their arrival and departure times to the minute!  Save the info till after you get their invoice weeks later.  An extra 45 min times 2 people time $250/hr is $375 you might save on a 45 min overcharge.

Very satisfied with Belsito.  They set my expectations fairly about what to expect regarding the nature of my problem.  (We had an apparent toilet issue that may have been the cause of a leaking problem to our downstairs neighbors).  Their plumbers Sonny and Nelson were excellent, friendly and conscientious. They thoughtfully talked me through the process. Highly recommend them.  Also, they were very responsive from my initial phone consult with Frank who was the first plumber to get back to me.  Lastly, Belinda in the office was friendly, speedy and very helpful.  Good guys!  Great job!

My husband and I were very pleased with the polite and professional manner
of Steve and Joe from Belsito's Plumbing...

They worked well together as a team, and explained what the problem was with
our toilet , the tank, as well as the wax ring...

We would highly recommend to all, as our friends recommended Belsito's Plumbing to  us and they were correct in their assessment of Belsito's Plumbing and their staff.

These guys have renewed my faith in plumbers! I highly recommend them. They showed up on time, were exceedingly courteous, quickly fixed our problem and charged a fair price (totally in line with what had been quoted by the other plumbers). They even gave a helpful recommendation (which will save me money and time) for maintenance on a patio drain that gets easily clogged. I will absolutely call them again for any plumbing problems I have, not just for my apartment in Greenpoint but for other apartments I help manage on the Upper East Side.

Always great service from Belsito & Sons.  As a general construction company, we are very particular about who we hire to help us on our jobs.  Belsito & Sons are reliable, honest, and straightforward. They make sure to keep us informed each step of the way. They take pride in making sure the jobs are done right the first time. Their knowledge of their industry, their craftsmanship and their overall business ethics are what kept us doing business with them for over 15 years. We not only use them for our clients' properties, but we use only them for our personally owned properties as well. They've serviced every type of installation, repair, maintenance, emergency request you could call in for and we were satisfied with their service every time.

We would recommend them over and over again.

Great service. Great people. Great prices.

I had a small leak in my toilet.  Called these guys and wish I had not.  The phone operator told me the cost would be around 175 for repair.  They charged me 350 and three days later the entire flushing mechanism broke.  I called them back because they have a year warranty on their work.  They came back and without even looking to see what was wrong, they told me I needed a 600$ part and that didn't include labor, but in an attempt to appear generous said they'd deduct the original cost from this fee.  I looked online and to get the entire structure for the back of my toilet (it's a flushometer toilet) and couldn't find the entire set up for more than 120$  so I called several hardware stores to make sure I was looking at the right things and couldn't get a quote higher than 100$ for THE ENTIRE SET UP.

These guys ripped me off on parts and labor.   In the end they were going to charge me over 1,000$ in total, but agreed to knock 300$ off after I complained loudly.  Not enough.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other people who were also misquoted. I should've looked at this sooner so I could get a quote in writing, but I learned my lesson the hard way. My hot water heater broke on a Saturday and I called Belsito because they've done work in our building before. I was thankful that John came to our apt fairly quickly, although he was only there for 5 minutes to say that we needed it replaced and there was nothing that could be done til at least Monday. I didn't realize that it cost $450 for him to tell me that. On Monday I called twice to get an estimate and the woman on the phone said it would be $1095. This sounded reasonable especially since John had given me his best guess at around $1200. So the new water heater was installed and afterwards I was told it was actually $1950! I honestly don't know if they gave me the wrong number on purpose or by accident but there was nothing I could do. I'm giving 2 stars because johnny and his co-worker did a great job at installing, but I would never use this company again.

Belsito charged us -repeat customers-  $135 to snake our toilet. Took 5 minutes, max, and the toilet overflowed the next day.

That's crap.

They are very nice. We spoke with John, and Jeniffer.  HOWEVER, it has been one month since they promised a working toilet, and we are nowhere near there yet.   I am looking forward to a resolution.

These guys were called in to locate a gas leak in our building. Our Board was in a pinch because we needed to get the gas back on so they agreed to pay $1500 for two plumbers for the day. The two plumbers were two young guys who did not seem to have too much experience and they arrived at 10am, took a 75 minute lunch break and left at 3:30pm - $1500 for less than 4-1/2 hours of work. When we questioned this we were told this was not an hourly job (obviously) and we should not be questioning such an experienced company. They then asked for $4500 for a 3-day retainer to continue working.

We subsequently hired another plumbing company, who charged us fairly, gave us a full days work, and who found the leak in one day in a location that the Belsito plumbers had already checked !!

These guys are not that good, and you will bleed money.

Prompt, friendly, and reasonable.  A repair quoted by another plumber at $250 only cost $160.  Great guys, great experience.

Summary: Overprice, overcharge, replace parts that don't need to be replaced, and attempt to charge hundreds of dollars for a follow up after they failed to fix the problem the first time.

Belsito and sons plumbing sent Frank to investigate a heating problem and noise coming from our circulator. He replaced the water pump and charged us for 3 hours of labor. After we were given an invoice this problem was corrected and they refunded the extra hour of labor. However the heating issue was not resolved, and we continued to go without heat for weeks. WE called them back to investigate the issue and initially they said they would not charge if it was related to the original charge. Frank came back once to inspect everything, let some air out of the system, and said everything was fine. We continued to lack heat and they never returned our calls after this. We enlisted another plumber at this time who found there was significant air in the system and that there was low pressure in the water heaters. They have now sent us a bill twice for 321 for they're second visit to let air out of the system. I will not pay this as at this point it is dubious that even the circulator pump needed to be replaced.

The primary reason for our appointment was a toilet that kept running water. It made noise, it wasted water, and it inflated our building's water bill.

The toilet stopped running just in time for the appointment, and I didn't know how to reproduce and demonstrate the problem. The plumbers assured me that there was absolutely nothing wrong, and since my wife noticed the problem more than I did they explained to me what women don't understand about buildings like these. Blech.

They started working on a secondary problem, before eventually concluding that they didn't have appropriate equipment, and we made a follow up appointment with the parent company, for which I paid but did not receive a receipt, and I'm not sure if I got proper change.

I watched one youtube video on common problems with toilet tanks, and saw what was very likely the reason for the running water. I waited till it started happening again, confirmed the cause was as expected, and fixed it.

The office refunded us when we cancelled the follow up appointment.

I cannot stand these people. They repeatedly lied to us. My building gave them the key to the boiler room and Belsito's guys would just show up randomly and lie to my face about what they were doing.

Example - they were tending to the electrical panel of our heating boiler 'because the buttons were sticking'. Why were they there pushing the buttons to begin with? No explanation.

Example - the electrical panel was no longer controlling the heating pumps. I learn later that the panel never controlled the pumps, which had their own separate on-off switch.

Example - they replaced valves in the apartment radiators when needed and charged the owners $750+, saying that the valves needed to be welded in place. It turns out that the valves can be purchased for $75 each and screwed in place by hand, which we now do. I get it - they need to make money but that is price gouging.

You have to basically beg these people to come in and do a job.  The ladies who take down numbers/deliver messages NEVER get them to the correct person bc no one ever seems to know you've made an appt or really wants going on in general.  Frustrating and unreliable.  I highly DON'T recommend.  Find someone who actually wants to do the job and get paid bc these people don't really want to work.

Awful.  Had to come twice to fix two running toilets.  Both times they used our bath towels to mop up (what, we don't know but they were soaked).  Didn't tell us either time, just left in a hurry until we found them later.  When called the third time to fix the problem, the plumber got aggressive with his language and tone when I asked him about it.

I'm giving two stars instead of one, because they came on short notice when I could not get our usual plumber, BUT on the occasions I have used them, I have found them to be the most expensive of any plumbing company. This particular time, they repaired a frozen pipe. 6 months later, I realized they never reconnected the pipe to the outside hose bib. I called them back to correct this, and they sent me a bill that was ever bigger than the original bill! I assumed it was a mistake, so I called them, and they invented this excuse that they couldn't do the complete repair originally because it was an emergency repair and they didn't want to cost me more in overtime (?). They never indicated that any additional work would be required, and I didn't realize there was a problem until June when I tried to water the garden. I definitely do not recommend them. This is exactly the kind of rip-off style of doing business that gives New York small businesses a bad reputation. Avoid.

As a Property Manager for 10 buildings, Belsito is the first I call whenever I'm experiencing any issues with plumbing and heating. I've been using this company for 4 years and I met them through a company I used to work for. Dealing with Frank and Eric has made things a lot easier in my life, they are honest, professional and efficient.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most unprofessional operations in Brooklyn. I had plumbers from their company come to my home on (3) occasions to work on various issues with my home.
Their accounting department sends invoices well after the fact and EACH time I received an invoice from them (which typically came a month or so after the work was performed) they ADDED time on-site, to generate additional revenue for themselves. Each time I called them and they claimed it was either a mistake, or an issue with the truck's odometer, or told me that's what the plumbers are saying. I finally had to argue with the owner (who is quite unpleasant, rude and unprofessional) over the discrepancy.  To add to it, we're still having issues with a radiator they were supposed to fix.
Do yourself a favor - FIND ANOTHER PLUMBER. They're not worth your time or money and there are plenty of other professionals out there.
Look at other reviews on yelp and have a look at their rating on Indeed.com from folks that have worked there. Awful.

Saw them highly rated on Yelp, so I gave them a call. WOW! They came same day and fixed the problem right then and there. I live in Manhattan and their pricing was at least 50% less than local plumbers! Did a great job and even cleaned up before they left! A better plumber you will not find!

I called Belsito to fix a small plumbing issue, and I will give them one star for coming on time and one star for fixing the problem. My complaints involve them: not agreeing to give me a price on the job before they started (if they had quoted me half of what I eventually paid, I would not have allowed them to start), billing for 2 people for a 1 person job, not giving me any kind of receipt after the job was done, and basically charging Manhattan Penthouse prices for a small central Brooklyn job. This was not an aberration, this is how they do business.

After a totally harrowing few weeks with a ridiculous landlord/apt situation, resulting in an unfixed gaping hole in our ceiling, Belsito Sons  came to the rescue. They were prompt & friendly & fixed the problem, and I actually sighed about audible 8 sighs of relief in a row. Just...good. This is the way businesses should be run. Unfortunately, you can't count on everyone to do the job as well as they can!

We had a great experience with Margo and Eric at Belsito. We were getting the runaround by another plumbing company called Demar (the WORST, never use them). We had gone four days without a heater in the dead of winter. We were freezing. Demar tried to cheat us and tell us we needed a new heater. Eric from Belsito came and fixed the heater. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, kind, and fair. Their pricing is better than Demar, and they did a much better job. Thank you, Margo and Eric.

Nice people on the phone, but they charge $175 to just set foot in your front door, regardless if you use them for a job or not. Not a very good value.

Not that it mattered though, because when the secretary transferred me to the owner, he told us they didn't service the Upper West Side. Kind of odd since they bill themselves as 'serving Manhattan' in promotional material, and have a 212 number (along with their 718 number).
